CAUGHT HIM! Rebel News pummels Pfizer CEO with questions at World Economic Forum

[Rebel News] It was the moment we were waiting for: one of the most hated men in the world going for a leisurely stroll because he assumed he was amongst friends. After all, in the three years since the pandemic began, have you ever seen a journalist ask him a tough question?

Well, he didn’t count on Rebel News and our accountability style of citizen journalism.

I walked right up to him and started asking him the questions that millions of people have surely been wondering for years. And a moment later, Avi joined in, making it a sort of walking press conference. And Bourla couldn’t answer a single question.

You know, there are hundreds of "accredited" journalists here at the World Economic Forum — the biggest names in news, from CNN to the New York Times. But you have to understand: they’re all here as WEF members, not to hold the WEF to account. They’re on Pfizer’s team. They would never ask Pfizer a tough question.

I really don’t think their CEO knew what hit him today.

That’s what we’re doing every day here at the WEF.

Between Avi and I [sic], we asked 29 questions. Everything we have been wanting to ask the Pfizer CEO for three years — from how much he has personally profited from the pandemic, to how much he has paid others to promote his vaccines, to important questions about when he knew his vaccines didn’t actually stop transmission, and why he kept it a secret.

#2  I listened to the interaction- there wasn’t any. They yelled questions and he answered none. Rebel News does some good stuff. I liked the questions, but it was really just harassment. Project Veritas does some of these harassments after they drop undercover video. I usually tune out the harassment followup as they are pretty similar each time.

Alec Baldwin to be charged over deadly shooting on Rust film set
Actor Alec Baldwin will be charged with involuntary manslaughter over the shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed on a film set when he fired a prop gun.

Mr Baldwin had been rehearsing a scene for the Western film Rust when the shooting happened at a ranch near Sante Fe, New Mexico in October 2021.

Hannah Gutierrez Reed, the film's armourer, will also be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

Neither have commented on the charges.

On Thursday, Santa Fe's District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies announced in a statement that charges would be filed against them by the end of the month.

"Actor and producer Alec Baldwin and armourer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will each be charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter," the statement read. "After a thorough review of the evidence... I have determined that there is sufficient evidence."

"On my watch, no one is above the law, and everyone deserves justice," she said.

The pair face up to 18 months in jail and a $5,000 (£4,040) fine if convicted. They will be tried by a jury, prosecutors said.

Film director Joel Souza was also wounded in the shooting, but prosecutors said no charges would be filed in connection with that.

After the shooting, Mr Baldwin said the gun had misfired. He added that he did not pull the trigger on the gun and he was not aware that it was loaded.

"I don't know what happened on that set. I don't know how that bullet arrived in that gun. I don't know," he said in December 2021.

In October 2022, Mr Baldwin and the film's production company reached a settlement for an undisclosed amount with the family of Ms Hutchins.

It came after the cinematographer's husband, Matthew, filed a wrongful death lawsuit which alleged violations of industry standards.

"All of us believe Halyna's death was a terrible accident," Mr Hutchins said in a statement at the time. "I have no interest in engaging in recriminations or attribution of blame."

Production of the film had been scheduled to resume this year, with Mr Hutchins on board as executive producer.

#4  Involuntary Manslaughter is defined as: 1) An unlawful killing that was unintentionally caused as the result of wanton or reckless conduct that a defendant engaged in; or 2) An unlawful killing that resulted during the commission of a dangerous battery by a defendant. (Massachusetts State Law.)/em>

State by state the statute probably differs and Baldwin is another Hollywood liberal dirt bag but the charge may not stick as far as the above common legal definition does not apply to the actual event.

#6  ...as the above common legal definition does not apply to the actual event. -Mad Eye

1) An unlawful killing that was unintentionally caused as the result of wanton or reckless conduct that a defendant engaged in;
Alec Baldwin chose to 1) Use a functional gun instead of a solid nylon movie prop weapon or other facsimile; 2) Did not check to see that the weapon was unloaded before aiming at a human being; and 3) Baldwin pulled the trigger. Q.E.D. Baldwin had multiple failures of judgment leading to an "unintended death".

Government Corruption
Why Yes, The Secret Service Does In Fact Know Who Visited The Delaware Home
[Fox News] The U.S. Secret Service is prepared to offer names of individuals who visited President Biden's Wilmington, Delaware, home if requested by Congress, Fox News has learned.

The White House continues to insist that there exists no formal visitor log for the personal residence where two troves of classified documents were found.

While the White House has not kept a formal list, the Secret Service does collect information on guests with regular access to the home.

Retention of the names of those vetted by the Secret Service depends on a variety of factors, including proximity to the president and the nature of the background check.

"The Secret Service does not maintain visitor logs at the private residences of protectees," said U.S. Secret Service chief of communications Anthony Guglielmi. "While the Secret Service does generate law enforcement and criminal justice information records for various individuals who may come into contact with Secret Service protected sites, we are not able to comment further as this speaks to the means and methods of our protective operations."

A source familiar with the situation told Fox News that the Secret Service is prepared to provide available background information on vetted guests to Biden's residence if requested by Congress.

DeSantis Blueprint for Florida - and maybe America
[Daily Mail] Ron DeSantis' legislative milestones over the last four years - and his agenda for the next term as Florida governor - are a sign of what could become an 'anti-woke' blueprint for America.

The GOP's rising star began laying out his ideals for his second term in early January — continuing to fuel speculation that he's setting out his campaign priorities for a potential future presidential run.

Governor Ron DeSantis' inauguration speech was largely viewed as a trial run outlining a potential 2024 presidential run. Here are some of DeSantis' main focuses:

FAMILY FIRST

'Florida must always be a great place to raise a family — we will enact more family-friendly policies to make it easier to raise children and we will defend our children against those who seek to rob them of their innocence.'

EDUCATION

'We must ensure school systems are responsive to parents and to students, not partisan interest groups, and we must ensure that our institutions of higher learning are focused on academic excellence and the pursuit of truth, not the imposition of trendy ideology.'

 BACK THE BLUE

'We will always remain a law-and-order state, we will always support law enforcement, and we will always reject soft-on-crime policies that put our communities at risk.'

'[Federal government] have harmed public safety by coddling criminals and attacking law enforcement.'

ANTI-COVID RESTRICTIONS

'They have imposed medical authoritarianism in the guise of pandemic mandates and restrictions that lack a scientific basis. This bizarre, but prevalent, ideology that permeates these policy measures purports to act in the name of justice for the marginalized, but it frowns upon American institutions, it rejects merit and achievement, and it advocates identity essentialism. We reject this woke ideology. We seek normalcy, not philosophical lunacy! We will not allow reality, facts, and truth to become optional.'

POWER TO THE STATES

'Florida's success has been made more difficult by the floundering federal establishment in Washington, D.C. The federal government has gone on an inflationary spending binge that has left our nation weaker and our citizens poorer, it has enacted pandemic restrictions and mandates — based more on ideology and politics than on sound science — and this has eroded freedom and stunted commerce.'

Keeping Nukes on the Table

With the North Koreans "keeping nukes on the table," the conversation has now turned into what other countries should build out nuclear options. There are two boxes a country should be able to check before going nuclear: do they have the technical capacity to do so and is there a strong enough strategic reason to have them?

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot places fourth in poll ahead of reelection day next month
reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
Mayor Lori Lightfoot
...the diminutive and vacuous Heronner da Mare of Chicago. When the corpse count rises she blames the guns, which are banned anyway. A racist to the bone, Lori sez that people with the same skin tone all think alike, not quite getting the implications for a city with a population less than thirty percent black...
has an uphill battle to win reelection — facing eight challengers in next month's election amid a crime problem that has rippled through the county's third-most populous city.

From 2019, when Lightfoot took office, to the end of 2022, crime rose 33% overall. Specifically, murder rose 39%, theft increased 37% and motor vehicle theft rose 139%, Chicago Police Department data shows.

The election is Feb. 28, and a runoff will be held April 4 if no candidate receives a majority of votes.

Lightfoot, the first black woman and gay person to be elected Chicago mayor, finished fourth in the recently published Chicago Index poll, a collaboration between The Daily Line and Crain’s Chicago Business.

Finishing ahead of Lightfoot in the poll were Democrat Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, who endorsed Lightfoot in 2019; Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson; and former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas.

Garcia and Johnson tied for first, with each receiving 25% of the vote, and Vallas and Lightfoot received 15% and 11%, respectively. All other candidates received 5% or less of the vote.

California MS-13 member accused of 10-year-old's torture and murder is in US illegally: source
A suspected MS-13 gang member set to go on trial next week for the horrific 2018 slaying of his Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, girlfriend's 10-year-old son is a native of El Salvador and living in the U.S. illegally, according to a law enforcement source.
Nancy's "spark of divinity"
Kareem Ernesto Leiva, 37, and his American girlfriend Heather Maxine Barron, 33, are both charged with murder and torture in the death of her son, Anthony Avalos, as well as child abuse against two other children in the home, court records show.

Prosecutors allege the boy had been beaten, starved, forced to kneel on rice, force-fed, whipped and more in a home where he was allegedly subjected to "extreme physical pain and suffering."

While in jail, Leiva allegedly shanked another inmate, according to court documents, and was accused of domestic violence against females in both 2010 and 2013.

His brother, Mauricio Leiva, is another alleged MS-13 member who was indicted in a federal racketeering case against a deadly drug ring in 2016, court documents show.

Leiva and Barron's murder trial in Los Angeles is scheduled to begin next week. Jonathan Hatami, who rose to prominence as the lead prosecutor in the Gabriel Fernandez trial, and Saeed Teymouri are assigned to the case.

Leiva's defense attorney, Dan Chambers, did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment

Atlanta: Protesters call for 'violence' against police after shooting leaves 1 dead, officer injured
[FoxNews] Protesters in Atlanta are calling for violence against coppers and law enforcement entities following a police-involved shooting on Wednesday that left a state trooper maimed and one man dead.

The Twitter account Scenes from the Atlanta Forest calls for a "Night of Rage" on Friday to enact "reciprocal violence to be done to the police and their allies," according to the Scenes from the Atlanta Forest Twitter account.

"Consider this a call for reciprocal violence to be done to the police and their allies. On Friday, January 20th, wherever you are, you are invited to participate in a night of rage in order to honor the memory of our fallen comrade," the group wrote on Twitter, in an apparent violation of the platform’s terms and conditions.
Sounds like Antifa to me. I’d bet if someone looks closely, many of the cadres will turn out to be cross-listed with known Black Bloc/anarcho-communist syndicate groups. They’re terribly keen on Day of Rage/Night of Rage for any excuse they can find.
The account claims to be a part of Defend the Atlanta Forest, one of the multiple groups protesting in an area where the city is set to construct the new Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.

The Defenders of the Forest said in a statement to Fox News Digital that it is "a broad, diverse, decentralized movement to defend the Atlanta forest." They went on to say they are only a "news aggregator for the movement" and "not affiliated" with Scenes from the Atlanta Forest.

In another tweet, posted several hours later, the group added: "The police will kill you if given the chance. Now is the time for bravery. Take care of each other. Be dangerous together."

The group appeared to acknowledge the post was against Twitter’s rule not to incite violence as it said in yet another tweet that its account "is not long for this world."

The upcoming event comes after a Georgia State Patrol trooper, wearing a bulletproof vest, was shot in the abdomen Wednesday morning. It happened as police tried to clear an encampment near the site where the $90 million Atlanta Police Department (APD) facility will be constructed.

Related: Defend the Atlanta Forest’s Twitter feed sounds more connected Black Bloc and less grass roots the deeper one reads.

Congo: 49 bodies found in mass graves after militia attacks
Mass graves containing the bodies of 49 civilians have been discovered in northeastern Congo after a series of weekend attacks blamed on a local militia, the United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
said Wednesday.

U.N. deputy front man Farhan Haq told news hounds in New York that the graves had been uncovered in two villages in Ituri province, about (19 miles) 30 kilometers east of the town of Bunia.

A total of 42 victims, including six children, had been discovered in a mass grave in the village of Nyamamba, while the bodies of seven other men were found in another village, Mbogi, Haq added.

"Peacekeepers launched a patrol to the area immediately after receiving reports of attacks on civilians by the CODECO militias over the weekend. This is when they made the gruesome discoveries,'' Haq said in New York.

Local authorities have said that CODECO _ Cooperative for the Development of Congo _ bully boyz also kidnapped a number of women during the attacks on the villages.

Last June, seven CODECO factions announced an end to violence against civilians in Ituri, mainly in the Djugu territory where they were very active. Yet they have gradually resumed with attacks in the area.

At least 195 people have been killed since December in a series of attacks blamed on the CODECO militia and other gangs, the U.N. said. More than 1.5 million people in Ituri province have been displaced by fighting.

Shin Bet says eighth suspect indicted over 2021 mob assault of Jewish man
[IsraelTimes] Charges filed against Asi Hourani for Acre attack on Mor Ganashvili, who suffered serious injuries.

The Shin Bet security service on Wednesday said an indictment had been filed against an eighth suspect in a mob attack in Acre in May 2021 that left the victim, Mor Ganashvili, with life-threatening injuries.

The riots in Acre were part of a series of violent mostly peaceful inter-communal disturbances, particularly in mixed Jewish-Arab cities, that took place in the days following the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
on May 10, 2021.

The agency said Asi Mahmoud Salah Hourani, 50, a resident of Acre, was detained in recent weeks over the mob attack on the Jewish Ganashvili on May 12. An indictment was filed Wednesday, leading the Shin Bet to release details of the case.

The indictment of Hourani brought to eight the total number of suspects prosecuted in the assault on Ganashvili, who was beaten with iron bars and other blunt instruments that rendered him unconscious and left him with two brain hemorrhages and internal bleeding, among numerous other injuries.

Ganashvili was rescued by another Arab resident of Acre, Fadi Qassem, a nurse who gave him first aid treatment and helped save his life before security forces and emergency medical services took him to the hospital.

The Shin Bet said Hourani "took an active part" in the assault, and was therefore hit with terror charges.

Several others have been arrested over the past year and a half in connection with the assault on Ganashvili.

On the night of May 12, masked rioters roaming the streets of Acre hurled stones, launched fireworks at coppers and destroyed public property, according to police and court documents.

Several suspects set up a roadblock using furniture and other objects, which Ganashvili encountered while driving to visit his mother, whom he was worried about due to the ongoing riots.

As Ganashvili drove past they hurled stones at his vehicle, which had Israeli flags on it, hitting it and smashing the windshield. Ganashvili lost control and crashed into a wall, also hitting an Arab youth who was standing there.

Ganashvili exited the vehicle but before he could escape was beaten by the mob. The attackers only stopped when a local sheikh arrived and told them to stop, and he was then rescued by Qassem.

Ganashvili’s car was set alight and destroyed.

Though not unprecedented, the internecine violence in May 2021 was some of the worst in Israel’s history, bringing to the surface long-simmering conflicts between Arab and Jewish Israelis.

The Shin Bet noted Wednesday that even nearly two years after the rioting it is continuing to investigate cases of terrorism during that period.

Last two Sikh’s Holy Scriptures arrive in New Delhi from Afghanistan
[KhaamaPress] The last two holy religious scriptures of Sikhism (Saroops) of the Guru Granth Sahib arrived from Afghanistan’s Kabul in Delhi on Wednesday. The two Scriptures were carried out by three Afghan Sikhs from Kabul to New Delhi by a non-Scheduled Kam Air flight.

Six Holy Scriptures were successfully flown into New Delhi on August 24, 2021, and December 10, 2021, in two groups. These were transported on a particular evacuation flight of Afghan Sikhs from Kabul.

Since the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
took control of Afghanistan, bringing back the symbols of faith and heritage associated with Sikhism has been going on continuously. As a result, the last two versions of Guru Granth Sahib were brought to Delhi, ANI reported.

On September 11, 2022, the four copies of the holy scriptures of Sikhs and 60 delegations were supposed to deliver to New Delhi but were refused permission by the Taliban-led Afghan government.

Officials from the foreign ministry of Afghanistan stated that unless an official confirmation letter from the Afghan Culture and Information Ministry was not issued, the scriptures could not be allowed to be taken out of Afghanistan, the Tribune reported.

After the intervention of the government of India and talks between the two governments, the two holy books were delivered to New Delhi in a non-scheduled Kam Air flight organized by Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee.

Since the Taliban led-government took control of power in the country, most Afghan Sikhs feel threatened in Afghanistan. As a result, the Indian government support them with the e-visas to leave the country.

Afghanistan
Daily Evacuation Brief January 19, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • DEATH TOLL FROM FREEZING COLD AT 70, MAY BE HIGHER – Based on figures reported from about half of the Provinces, the official death toll stood at 70 yesterday evening. Privately, aid agencies are saying actual figures likely run into the hundreds. Bodies of several children, presumed to have been living on the streets of several of Afghanistan’s cities, were photographed and shared on social media. Adding to the misery, more deaths appear to have occurred from monoxide poisoning as people sought to stay warm inside buildings with improper ventilation. Tens of thousands of heads of livestock are thought to have perished as a cold front not seen for over fifty years has descended on the country. Aid agencies are attempting to ameliorate the situation but face issues with staffing, funding, and supplies after many halted operations due to recent discriminatory gender bans.

  • I-10 SUICIDE BOMBER REPUTEDLY TRAINED IN AFGHANISTAN – The Islamabad suicide bomber who killed 2 Pakistanis and injured several others on 23 December 2022 is said to have received his training while in Afghanistan 2022. Sources close to the investigation say the 22-year-old resident of Khyber District had gone to an undisclosed location in Afghanistan in mid-2022 to receive training. He returned in late 2022 and stayed in Parachinar and Hangu before journeying to the capital to launch his attack. Another source said that the man had been educated at a seminary in Pakistan and was not previously known to counter-terror agents.

  • HOUSES SEARCHED IN KABUL – Several reports of targeted house searches were received over the previous twenty-four hours. The majority of the searches occurred in Police District 6. The District was home to many former military and government employees of the former regime lived.

  • 7 HELD IN MURDER OF FEMALE MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR AGENT – A female Ministry employee was murdered on 1 December 2022 in Police District 7. Yesterday, authorities arrested 7 suspects involved in the case. At least some of the suspects are thought to be relatives of the victim and all have reportedly made confessions to their involvement in the crime. Initial reports at the time suggested the killing had been carried out by ISIS-K or Resistance troops but those reports appear to have been speculation. The reason for the killing has not yet been released.

IRAN PLANS TO DEPORT BETWEEN 3,000-4,000 AFGHANS IN A SINGLE DAY – Local sources in Farah, Herat, and Nimruz Provinces say that Iranian authorities plan to deport the Afghans in a one-day operation across the Taybad, Mahirud, and Milak border crossings. Iranian residents who reside near the crossings have complained about the erection of several camps as the Afghans attempt to deal with the bitter cold. Additional border security forces are said to have arrived to assist with the deportations. Local sources say the communities on the Afghan side are not prepared to receive the deportees and are concerned that some could die without shelter.

Iraq
Kurdistan Region borders ‘calmer’: Iraqi border forces spox
[Rudaw] Tensions on the Kurdistan Region’s borders with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
have recently de-escalated, said a spokesperson for Iraq’s border forces on Tuesday.

Ottoman Turkish and Iranian forces often target Kurdish opposition fighters on the Kurdistan Region’s bordering areas, and these tensions had escalated late last year. Turkey has attacked the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) on its borders with the Region for decades and Iran carried out several attacks against Iranian-Kurdish parties in Koya city in 2022.

Both countries claim that these fighters pose a threat to their national securities.

Karwan Khoshnaw, a spokesperson for Iraq’s border forces, told Rudaw on Tuesday that the situation is "calmer" on the border, partially contributing to freezing weather.

He also said that their forces are using surveillance drones to monitor the developments on the borders, noting that "the Iraqi government has decided to send us necessary equipment."

The border forces, mostly composed of Kurds, have been deployed to the Region’s bordering areas to prevent further advancement of Ottoman Turkish and Iranian forces.

Turkey cannot expect normal ties with Iraq while violating sovereignty: Iraqi President
[Rudaw] Iraq has told The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
that they cannot expect a normal relationship with Baghdad while continuously violating its borders, the Iraqi President told Rudaw on Wednesday.

Speaking to Rudaw on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum at Davos, Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid said that Iraq considers Turkey an important neighboring country with many mutual interests, however Ankara’s violations of Iraqi illusory sovereignty has become a matter of discontent.

"To be honest, the stance Turkey has in terms of entering Iraq, whether through army or aircrafts, has embarrassed the Iraqi government, the Kurdistan Regional government, and both Iraqi and Kurdish people, they all disapprove of this in every way," Rashid said.

Turkey launched an aerial operation, code-named Claw-Sword, in November, targeting the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the Kurdistan Region’s mountainous areas, mostly Sulaimani province, and the People’s Protection Units (YPG) in northern Syria.

Iraq has on multiple occasions expressed its government’s discontent to Ankara, however Turkey’s operations are far from done.

"Last time I met their representatives, I told them the same thing, we cannot have normal relationship while our borders are being violated," the Iraqi President said, adding that the Iraqi foreign ministry has given Ankara notice multiple times as well.

Iraq last year took the issue to the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
. In July, Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein addressed the UN Security Council, warning that Turkey has "expansionist" goals behind its repeated attacks on Iraqi territory.

Iraq’s complaint to the Security Council came in response to a Ottoman Turkish bombardment earlier in July that killed nine Iraqi tourists in Duhok province, sparking national outrage in the country.

Less than two months later, Ankara’s intelligence chief Hakan Fidan flew to the Iraqi capital and met with different top level officials.

Rudaw was told by one of the officials the MIT chief met with that during the meetings, Fidan had stressed Turkey’s support for Iraqi illusory sovereignty, however has told them that Turkey’s war with the PKK will continue in Iraq as long as the group remains on Iraqi land.

Ottoman Turkish violations on Iraqi land has numbered over 22,000 cases of violations, according to data obtained from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry in July, adding that until then, Iraq had filed 296 complaints to the Ottoman Turkish side.

Iraq’s ministry of defense in July said that the Ottoman Turkish military had entered 105 kilometers deep into Iraqi lands, setting up around 4,000 of their troops.

Turkey’s Claw-Sword operation is a continuation of Turkey’s Claw operations against the PKK in the Kurdistan Region, with the first stage starting in 2019.

The PKK is an gang fighting for the increased rights of Kurds in Turkey and designated a terrorist organization by Ankara.

Despite Ankara's denial, the assaults have previously led to civilian casualties who are often caught in the crossfire.

Surge in liberal men getting vasectomies
The future belongs to those who have descendants.
[HotAir] We love tracking social trends around here and an interesting one has shown up among liberal American men over the past year or so. In the wake of the Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
decision in Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health and the subsequent restrictions on child sacrifice abortions enacted in some states, younger American men have been getting vasectomies in record numbers. Life News reported last week that medical professionals are citing an increase of between 100 and 200 percent in the number of vasectomies being performed around the nation. Many patients proudly describe their decision as a show of solidarity with pro-child sacrifice abortion women.

Liberal men are getting vasectomies in record numbers to protest child sacrifice abortion bans across the country in the wake of the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade. Andf that likely means fewer child sacrifice abortions.

Reports of increased numbers of vasectomies have been coming in over the last six months following the summer ruling from the Supreme Court. In fact reports began surfacing after Texas became the first state to successfully ban child sacrifice abortions in late 2021 — with some reports indicating an increase of 15% in the number of men seeking vasectomies.

After that, NPR indicated those numbers are shooting up nationwide. And thankfully the men getting vasectomies are the ones who would be perfectly fine with having their own child killed in an child sacrifice abortion.

One clinic in Des Moines, Iowa reported signing up the same number of new vasectomy patients in 48 hours that they normally see in a month. Others reported similar figures. The largest increase came among men in their mid to late 30s, with a slightly smaller increase among men in their 20s.

Oddly, many men are choosing to go to Planned Parenthood
...has received federal funding since 1970, when President Richard Nixon signed into law the Family Planning Services and Population Research Act. It is sometimes described as the gynecololgical wing of the Democratic party...
for a vasectomy, rather than a surgeon who specializes in the procedure. I wouldn’t have even guessed that they offered such procedures, but apparently they do and they’re keeping quite busy.

"Since the Dobbs decision, we have seen an increasing number of male-bodied people coming and requesting this service [vasectomies]," Dr. Margaret Baum of Planned Parenthood said. "We performed 142 vasectomies in 2021. Already this year, we’ve done close to 200 in 2022."

I won’t try to discourage anyone who isn’t ready to have children or doesn’t want any from getting a vasectomy. It’s an almost bulletproof way to prevent unwanted pregnancies. But the young men making this decision should be aware that vasectomies can be technically reversible, depending on the type of procedure you receive. But that procedure will often fail to restore your ability to father children. (If that’s the case, was it really "reversed?") And even if you can get it reversed, the surgery required to do so is far more serious than the original snipping that takes place.

[Garowe] At least 25 al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them...
forces of Evil have been killed in the latest operation by the Somali National Army [SNA] with the help of foreign troops, state media confirmed, noting that the gallant soldiers will not hesitate to protect the interests of the people of Somalia.

For the last six months, the Somali National Army has been pursuing al-Shabaab forces of Evil in central and southern Somalia, leaving hundreds of the forces of Evil dead. The US Africa Command, the African Union

Transition Mission in Somalia [ATMIS], and local militia have been collaborating in the fight.

The National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA] also participated in the exercise, state media noted. NISA has lately been active in the fight against al-Shabaab, but there have been complaints previously about their conduct, ranging from alleged execution and detention of innocent civilians.

According to state media, the 25 forces of Evil were killed at Hawadlay village in Middle Shabelle where al-Shabaab also killed dozens of civilians earlier this week. Somali National Army boss General Odowaa Yusuf Rageh had indicated that the forces of Evil will be dealt with.

Yesterday, the commander of SNA's 3rd battalion Colonel Abshir Shataqey and several soldiers were killed in a boom-mobile and gun attack on a military base in Hawadley town which was liberated last year from the turbans. [Read here].

The defeated forces of Evil have been carrying out sporadic retaliatory attacks across the country following the sustained operations. However,

the SNA troops and local militia have managed to contain them, further pushing them out of the vicinity while liberating strategic towns.

Earlier this week, the government troops managed to liberate Gal'ad and Haradhere towns, which has been the main operation center by the turbans. According to government reports, the al-Shabaab extortionists have been collecting revenue from the center which helps in the facilitation of the activities.

Gunmen launch deadly attack on southern Philippine Muslim community
Jihad or not, they act the same. It’s just the targets that are different. This time it’s not jihad, just normal intra-Moslem viciousness.
[BenarNews] Gunmen attacked a community of former Moslem guerrillas in the southern Philippines city of Cotabato before dawn on Wednesday, killing two people and injuring five others, police said.

About 20 gunnies stormed the village of Tamontaka 2, a community of mostly former rebels belonging to Moro National Liberation Front
...the Turkic paramilitaries intended to replace with their native jihadi ferocity all the highly trained Turkish soldiers Sultan Erdogan I the much beloved has jailed in the last few years for not worshipping the ground he walks upon. The Uighurs and so forth who did not join Al Nusra or ISIS seem to have ended up here...
(MNLF), city police chief Col. Querubin Manalang told news hounds.

Manalang said a shootout erupted between the button men and MNLF members, resulting in the death of two former rebels, identified as Pacundo Pangilan and Razul Abdulla, and the injuries to the others.

"The situation now is back to normal. We have coppers deployed in the area," Manalang said.

The chief said Sherlocks have not determined what led to the attack.

"If this is a case of clan war, we ask the families of those fatalities to coordinate with us so we can take the necessary action."

Romeo Sema, a senior MNLF leader who is a labor minister in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Moslem Mindanao (BARMM), confirmed that his group’s members were involved in the gun fight.

"We are still investigating," he told BenarNews, but could not release additional details.

In the Philippines, particularly in predominantly Moslem areas of Mindanao island, it is not unusual for families to settle differences through clan wars or "rido." Hostilities could last for decades until a peace pact is signed by the protagonists, usually through mediation by religious leaders along with a cash payment.

CYCLE OF VIOLENCE
Political rivalries, ancestral land claims, disputes on local fiefdoms, as well as election-related feuds often spur clan wars in Mindanao, the country’s mineral-rich southern third that has been locked into a cycle of violence for years. The island near the eastern Malaysian state of Sabah has also been saddled by decades of local insurgencies and separatist movements.

The MNLF was the precursor of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). The older group signed a peace deal with Manila in 1996, dropping its rebellion for a separate Moslem homeland in the south for autonomy.

The MILF had splintered from the MNLF in 1978 and continued fight with government forces until 2014 when it agreed to peace in exchange for limited autonomy, eventually leading to the BARMM.

While both groups had agreed to decommission firearms and retire their fighters, unlicensed weapons remain a concern in many areas in the south.

Under the MILF agreement with the government, each former combatant who turns in weapons is expected to receive a cash payment, including money for education.

Despite the agreement, Rommel Banlaoi, a counter-terrorism analyst at the Philippine Institute for Peace, Violence and Terrorism Research, said the proliferation of firearms in the south is a huge problem.

Citing data, Banlaoi said 80% of the 600,000 unregistered guns in the Philippines are in the region.

"Illegal guns are mostly found in BARMM, not to mention the continuing homemade bomb training camps in the Bangsamoro region," Banlaoi told BenarNews.

Bangkok property leased by Nauru diplomat was base for passport forging
[BenarNews] The home in an exclusive Bangkok residential compound popular with diplomats was rented ostensibly by the tiny Pacific island nation of Nauru for its consul-general to Thailand, his family and staff.

But Onassis Dame, the Nauruan diplomat, and his family did not live there.

Instead the residence, which Sherlocks raided on Dec. 22, was used as a base for forging passports by foreigners including two Chinese nationals wanted by Beijing, Thai police have said.

Dame’s whereabouts as well as his and the Nauru consulate’s role, if any, in the passport mill are unclear. According to the Thai police, the illicit operation forged Chinese and Nauru passports.

Dame’s term as consul-general had expired in November, Pol. Gen. Surachate Hakparn, Thailand’s deputy national police chief, told a presser on Monday.

The consulate entered into the property lease in early September when Dame still headed it, according to a legal letter on behalf of the leasing company, a copy of which BenarNews obtained.

"If the consul-general told the Chinese to stay [at the property], he is taken as supporting the Chinese. If so, he was at fault. But it will be based on the investigation," Surachate said.

An employee at Nauru’s consulate in Thailand said on Tuesday that Dame had been recalled — a term that can cover various scenarios including the scheduled end of a posting, a diplomat’s poor behavior, or a government wanting to convey its displeasure with the host country.

Thailand’s Diplomatic and Consular List shows that Dame became consul-general in October 2019.

Nauru’s vice-consul, John Yu, didn’t respond immediately to emailed questions.

On Wednesday, the consulate employee said that consulate officials were busy with the situation involving Dame and the rented residence. An official at Nauru’s Government Information Office said they had no information about the case.

An Onassis Dame is also president of the Nauru Judo Association.

Calls to a Thai mobile number for Dame did not connect.

Nauru, northeast of Australia, is the world’s third smallest state by area after the Vatican and Monaco. It is one of only 14 countries that recognizes Taiwan instead of China.

The 21-square-kilometer (eight-square-mile) atoll is pockmarked by a phosphate mining industry that for several decades made Nauru among the world’s richest nations.

The most accessible phosphate is now exhausted and Nauru, home to about 10,000 people, is reliant on aid from Australia, Taiwan and the Asian Development Bank. In 2008, Nauru recognized the breakaway Georgian republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in an effort to also secure Russian aid.

CHINESE-LINKED CRIMINALITY
In Thailand, the passport forgery investigation is the latest in a series of busts of crime rings and unregistered businesses involving Chinese nationals.

The case has also put a spotlight on official corruption as Department of Special Investigation (DSI) officers and other officials who carried out the Dec. 22 raid were arrested in January for taking a bribe from the Chinese nationals and allowing them to escape.

At least 15 officials have been charged with corruption in connection with the case, according to news reports.

On Wednesday, Thai Justice Minister Somsak Thepsuthin signed an order to transfer DSI chief Traiyarit Temahiwong over the scandal, the Bangkok Post reported.

The raided compound, in central Bangkok, is home to luxury homes and high-end apartment buildings with well-tended grounds, swimming pools, and tennis courts connected by a private road.

Property rental sites show a three-bedroom apartment can be had for about 100,000 baht (U.S, $3,036) a month. An eight bedroom three-story house in the compound is listed for 430,000 baht ($13,053) a month.

The constant comings and goings of unregistered vehicles and people, day and night, at the residence rented by Nauru caused concern for neighbors and the compound’s security guards, and eventually led to the Dec. 22 raid.

A Dec. 13 legal letter to Dame on behalf of the company that had leased the property said the lease agreement with the Nauru consulate had been violated.

It said the property had never been used as the private residence of Dame, his three family members and two staff as intended by the agreement signed on Sept. 2 last year.

"There has been an unconventionally high amount of traffic of unregistered vehicles entering and leaving the premises including during an unusual time, without addressing the purpose of the visit," the letter said.

The security of diplomats who live in the compound was at risk, it said, threatening termination of the lease.

Yu, Nauru’s vice consul, wrote to Thailand’s Department of Special Investigations twice in December — before the raid — seeking its assistance because of concerns about the rented property, according to a DSI statement on Dec. 28.

DSI’s account of Yu’s first letter, dated Dec. 9, indicates that he only recently had become aware of the rented property.

"It [the consulate] also discovered several violations of regulations by allowing Asian individuals, believed to be Chinese nationals, to use the property for purposes other than as the residence of the Consul-General. This might pose risks to international relations," the statement said.

"All day entries and exits at the property have grown suspicious and disturbing for neighbors, who consist of diplomats from other countries," the statement said.

Bangladesh
Rohingya settlement on Bangladesh-Myanmar border torched amid fighting between militant groups
[BenarNews] A settlement of about 3,000 Rohingya refugees on the Myanmar-Bangladesh border was burnt to the ground Wednesday after an hours-long shootout between Rohingya bully boy groups that left at least one person dead, sources said.

The two gangs engaged one another in a firefight with reports that Rohingya shelters were set ablaze in the no-man’s land along the frontier, causing many to flee for safety into Bangladeshi territory in southeastern Bandarban district, refugees and officials said.

Apart from the report of the one slain Rohingya, at least two others were maimed.

"The camp has been burnt. People are unable to stay due to the gunshots. Now there’s smoke around," Mohammad Rahim, who was among the uprooted refugees, told a BenarNews correspondent who visited the Tambru border area, where the fighting and arson were reported.

Refugees said the violence lasted 12 hours, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"One person died. Many of us have been injured," said Asma, a Rohingya girl.

"Some children were also injured. Our houses have been burnt," she told BenarNews, weeping.

Md. Rahim, a resident of no-man’s land, said he fled to the Bangladesh side of the border to save his life.

"Suddenly, we saw our houses burning. The people could not stay there. The whole area was covered with smoke. Where will we go now?" he said.

In Cox’s Bazar, a neighboring district, a Rohingya association leader said that no one knew as of yet who was responsible for setting fire to the shelters.

"[The fighting took place] far away from the refugee camps on the Bangladesh side. It is closer to the Myanmar side," Khin Maung, founder of the Rohingya Youth Association, told the Burmese Service of Radio Free Asia (RFA), a news service affiliated with BenarNews.

"Reports said the fighting broke out between ARSA and RSO," he said, referring to the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army and the Rohingya Solidarity Organization, both Rohingya bully boy groups.

Photographs obtained by the BenarNews news hound on Wednesday in Tambru showed two injured men, including one dead man. Both had on camouflage shirts with a patch that bore RSO’s insignia.

According to Khin Maung, there were about 3,000 Rohingya refugees living in the camp in no-man’s land, and there were no more residents there after it was set on fire Wednesday. He said some refugees had fled to Myanmar while others had fled to Bangladesh.

RFA could not independently confirm which group was responsible for the arson.

In Dhaka, Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said he had heard that ARSA rebels may have been involved in Wednesday’s violence near the Burmese border.

"The fighting has happened on the Myanmar side of the no-man’s land. ... One person is confirmed dead. The houses of some Rohingya living along the zero point [no-man’s land] of the frontier have been set on fire," Khan told BenarNews.

"So far, we have come to know that ARSA could be involved in the fighting; they have different conflicting groups. They could have engaged in the fighting."

The minister added that a handful of Rohingya entered Bangladesh territory to escape the festivities.

"We have taken them in our custody. The situation is under control. They will be sent back tomorrow," said Khan.

Bangladesh police officials claimed, meanwhile, that the dead and injured Rohingya lived in the sprawling refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar, but they could not explain what these Rohingya were doing in no-man’s land.

The chief of Cox’s Bazar district police, Mahfuzul Islam, said the refugee who was killed, Hamid Ullah, was a resident of Kutupalong camp. Of the two injured Rohingya, one was a resident of the Jadimura camp in Teknaf, a sub-district of Cox’s Bazar, and the other was 12 years old, Islam said.

ARSA, or the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, is the turban group that launched deadly attacks on Burmese military and police outposts in Myanmar’s border state of Rakhine in August 2017.

Those attacks provoked a brutal military crackdown that forced some 740,000 people to seek shelter in southeastern Bangladesh, where they now live in refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar.

#1  They are so cruel. These people have nothing, and they're putting the hurt on them. Disgusting, as the vote shows the whole world condemns this behavior. And they think they're the victims!

How about this? We start sanctioning Israel until they begin behaving like a civilized nation. It's what we did to South Africa to force them to get rid of their sickening apartheid system. It can work again.

Oh, but we can't do that because Israel controls the US government like a puppet. We even give them billions in aid every year, like they're some kind of poor country.

#12  You know what else they invented? Laws preventing Jews from marrying people of other religions.

Actually, the Ottoman Turks invented that, centuries ago. The British Mandate did not change the law, nor did Israel at its founding, being at the time in the middle of a war with five British-trained and officered Arab armies intent on killing all the Jews. Nor were the Ottoman Turks the only ones with such laws. But what it actually is, is that the state sanctions marriages performed by the clergy of Jewish, Muslim, Druze, and certain Christian denominations, and none others. However — and this is important — Israel does recognize civil, interfaith, and same-sex marriages performed abroad, so Israelis who fall into those categories generally run off to Cyprus for their weddings. Under Israeli law, the spouse of an Israeli automatically gets Israeli citizenship, except for West Bank Palestinians and the citizens of certain Arab countries.

You'll need to find some other reason for your Jew hate, Herman Hapsburg8987. Go on — you tee ‘em up, we’ll knock ‘em down.

#19  I mean, questioning genetic mythologies is not exactly a racist or bigoted thing. The 20th Century had the idea of genetic mythology; Mussolini linked his movement to the Roman Empire, Hitler the Aryan master race, and Jewish Zionists link themselves to the biblical idea of the Hebrews. Each argues something along the lines of "blood and soil," that they have a genetic right to rule some land and expel and exterminate impure races.

Apartheid can best be understood as a system of prolonged and cruel discriminatory treatment by one racial group of members of another with the intention to control the second racial group. When I got up today I didn't expect posts defending apartheid and anti-miscegenation laws...but here they are.

I think I've had enough internet for one day.

#20  I mean, questioning genetic mythologies is not exactly a racist or bigoted thing.

It depends how it’s done, my dear. When you rely on hypotheses negated by subsequent, more accurate genetic testing, choosing to ignore subsequent results because of your prejudices, then it is.

As for apartheid in Israel, some 25% of Israelis are Arabs. More could become Israeli, eg. most of the residents of East Jerusalem, but choose not to — a rejection by the Arabs, not by the Jewish state. Arab holidays and language hold the same legal status in Israel as Jewish ones; Arab-Israelis can and do live legally in non-Arab cities and towns, while refusing to sell to Jews in Arab communities; and Arab-Israelis can and do go to school and join professions, including the judiciary, national politics, and the army — in all of which they have risen to the top of each. It is hard to cry apartheid when Arab-Israelis are supreme court judges, army generals, and ministers in the government, when Israel is represented in international beauty contests and Eurovision by Arab contestants that the Jewish population voted for. Apartheid is supposed to prevent all that, not encourage it.

Finally, while there are indeed Jews all over the world, and even more who don’t realize they have Jewish ancestry, there have been Jews living in Israel, generation after generation, since the former slaves returned to the land following Moses. Even the Assyrian and Babylonian conquests in the 6th century BC didn’t empty the land — the Samaritans are the descendants of the ten tribes of the northern kingdom of Israel, and their bible shows the connection, while the Old Testament Book of Ezra opens with the returnees from Persia meeting with Jews who had not been taken to exile in Babylonia in 586 BC, and there was active correspondence between the Jewish schools in Hebron and sages across the Diaspora. And Mark Twain, in his Innocents Abroad, wrote about the Jews he saw living in the Holy Land... and the sparsity of Arab communities therein.

-Great Cultural Revolution
Propaganda Acolytes: 54 Soros-Tied Figures Linked to Major Media
[MRCbusiness/NewsBusters] The over $32 billion that leftist billionaire George Soros poured into his organizations to spread his radical “open society” agenda on abortion, Marxist economics, anti-Americanism, defunding the police, environmental extremism and LGBT fanaticism around the globe has paid dividends.

In fact, his funding has helped him establish ties with some of the biggest name media personalities in the United States and abroad which help indoctrinate millions with his views on a day-to-day basis. MRC Business found at least 54 prominent media figures (e.g. reporters, anchors, columnists, editors, news executives and journalists) who are tied to Soros through their connections to organizations that he funds. These include personalities like NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and The Washington Post executive editor Sally Buzbee.

This is the final report in a three-part series that reveals the extent of Soros’ influence over the international media. MRC Business’ extensive research has uncovered 253 journalism and activist media groups across the world financed to the tune of $131 million between 2016 and 2020 by Soros’ enormous network of philanthropic organizations, which allows him to leave an unparalleled footprint on global media. This network of media ties allows Soros to hold sizable influence over the stories that the media covers, how they cover those stories, and what stories they don’t cover. Soros once told The New York Times that he was working to “bend” the arc of history “in the right direction,” and he’s using his global media clout to do it.

The media influence and ties that Soros bought was enough to insulate him from being seriously investigated by most journalists. Whenever a conservative critic dared to raise any objections to Soros’ spending and major political footprint, the liberal media worked overtime to characterize those critics as anti-Semites, as Bongino Report Content Manager Matt Palumbo told MRC Business in an exclusive interview. But mostly what Soros buys is silence.

  • 54 Soros-Tied Figures Linked to Major Media: MRC found at least 54 media figures (e.g. anchors, columnists, editors, news executives and journalists) who are prominent individuals in news and activist media, in addition to some of the most powerful media conglomerates in the United States and abroad. These included figures like NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, CNN Chief International Anchor Christiane Amanpour, The Washington Post executive editor Sally Buzbee, PolitiFact Editor-In-Chief Angie Drobnic Holan and Bloomberg News co-founder Matthew Winkler.

Still, I understand why Steven got upset by some of the language regarding social media censorship. That sounded disgraceful in Steven's video, but now I believe Jeremy's reasons for including it in the offer are reasonable and necessary.

Palestinians clash with IDF during pilgrimage to Joseph’s Tomb; 7 arrested overnight
[IsraelTimes] Military escorts Jewish worshipers to site in Nablus as rioters hurl explosives, Molotov cocktails and button men open fire.

Several Paleostinians were reported maimed during festivities with Israeli troops late Tuesday and early Wednesday as Jewish worshipers entered the religious site of Joseph’s Tomb, in the West Bank city of Nablus.

The Israel Defense Forces said Paleostinians hurled explosives, Molotov cocktails, and stones at troops as they escorted the pilgrims to the site. Troops responded with riot dispersal means, the IDF said.

"Also, the soldiers fired at button men who fired at them," the military added.

The Nablus-based Lion’s Den terror group
...the scary name the wild Nablus lads of all jihadi groups gave themselves to make their attacks on Jews seem more impressive...
said in a statement that its members were involved in opening fire at the Israeli troops.

Footage showed Paleostinians hurling Molotov cocktails at an IDF armored bulldozer that was placing dirt mounds in the area to block off traffic ahead of the pilgrimage. Another clip showed a gunman firing a single shot toward the Israeli troops.

The official Paleostinian Authority news agency WAFA said several Paleostinians were maimed in the festivities, mostly from tear gas deployed by soldiers.

The official Paleostinian Authority news agency WAFA said several Paleostinians were maimed in the festivities, mostly from tear gas deployed by soldiers.

Orthodox Israelis visit Joseph Tomb’s on a monthly basis, if not more frequently, and the pilgrimages almost always spark violent mostly peaceful festivities with Paleostinian locals when the IDF enters Nablus beforehand to secure the area for the arrival of the hardline pilgrims.

The shrine, regarded by some as the final resting place of the biblical patriarch Joseph, is located inside Area A of the West Bank, which is officially under complete Paleostinian Authority control, though the Israeli military regularly enters, despite Paleostinian opposition.

The IDF bars Israeli citizens from entering Area A without prior authorization, and some criticize the monthly incursions as an unnecessary provocation that places Israeli soldiers at risk.

No soldiers or civilians were hurt in the overnight festivities.

In the West Bank overnight, IDF troops arrested seven Paleostinians wanted for suspected involvement in rioting and terror activities, and took them in for questioning. During a raid in the northern West Bank village of ’Arrana, troops and coppers seized several firearms, officials said.

    Home Front: WoT
Border under control of cartels, not the US, Yuma residents say as gangs rake in billions off human smuggling
[FoxNews] Mexican cartels' control over the southern border threatens America's national security: Yuma official

Border town residents in Yuma, Arizona shared their concerns for national security as more migrants flood into the U.S. after paying the cartels for entry.

Mexican cartels controlling the southern border endanger Americans as they smuggle drugs and violent criminals into the U.S., a border town official told Fox News.

"This is not a political discussion," Yuma County Supervisor Jonathan Lines told Fox News. "This is a national security issue."

"Unless this situation changes and we take back control from the cartels, for the trafficking coming across our border, it will only get worse," Lines said.

Nearly 100 known or suspected terrorists were arrested at the southern border last year, according to Customs and Border Protection.
The cartels have established effective — and lucrative — smuggling operations and use the migrant surge to bypass overwhelmed Border Patrol officials, according to Lines. Migrants can pay the cartels to help them cross the border, but if they can't afford the cost, then they can traffic drugs or work off their debt in lieu of cash.
Not either human smuggling or drugs, but both, each supporting the increase of the other, to the benefit of the cartels.
"There's a lot of people that don't like the United States for whatever reason, and there's plenty of people that want to get in here and do some damage," a Yuma resident and farmer, Alex Muller, told Fox News. "It's just like a ticking time bomb."

Nearly 100 known or suspected terrorists were arrested at the southern border last year, according to Customs and Border Protection. By comparison, over the previous five years, there was a combined total of 26 arrests.

Meanwhile, human smuggling operations' profits have skyrocketed in recent years. According to Homeland Security Investigations, the industry raked in $13 billion as of July — up from $500 million in 2018. And CBP seized 15,000 pounds of fentanyl along the southern border in 2022 — a 206% increase since 2020.

"You have all these cartels that basically run this border, funneling people and drugs across," a Yuma resident and fifth-generation farmer, Hank Auza, told Fox News. "That’s big money and people."

Cartel fees for migrants trying to cross the border can range anywhere between $4,000 and $20,000, a George Mason University professor told The New York Times.
Migrant encounters increased from 480,000 in 2020 to 2.3 million last year, according to CBP. In Yuma, there was a 171% increase in migrant crossings between 2021 and 2022.

"The whole world is crossing the border, and these are the people who want to get caught," Muller told Fox News. "There's a lot of people who don't want to get caught."

"Where are they going and who's supporting them?" Muller continued. "That's what's scary."

Cartel fees for migrants trying to cross the border can range anywhere between $4,000 and $20,000, a George Mason University professor told The New York Times. One man took out a $20,000 loan to smuggle his two sons into the U.S. They were later found dead in the back of a tractor-trailer abandoned in San Antonio along with 51 others.

Many migrants remain "indebted to the cartel" after crossing into the U.S., Lines said. As a result, they're forced to work off their debts.

"Not everybody is able to pay for it, and they come as indentured servants," Lines told Fox News.

Muller said the cartels taken advantage of Biden's border policies for the last two years.

"The border is 100% not secure," he told Fox News. "It's wide open."

Couple, son get life in prison for killing security guard over face mask feud
[NYPOST] A Michigan couple and their adult son were sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the killing of a dollar store security guard who demanded that another family member wear a face mask at the height of the pandemic.

Larry Teague, wife Sharmel Teague, and Sharmel Teague’s son, Ramonyea Bishop, were ordered by Genesee Circuit Court Judge Brian Pickell to spend the rest of their lives behind bars for the shooting death of Calvin Munerlyn on May 1, 2020.

The trio was convicted in November of first-degree premeditated murder, which carries a mandatory punishment of life in prison without parole, following a trial that lasted several weeks, The Flint Journal reported.

Munerlyn, 43, was shot in the head at the Family Dollar store just north of downtown Flint 20 minutes after telling Sharmel Teague’s daughter, Brya Bishop, she had to leave because she did not have a mask, prosecutors said.

Sharmel confronted the security guard and the two got into a verbal argument, which escalated when the woman appeared to spit at him, prosecutors said.

Munerlyn chased the customer into the parking lot, where he tackled her to the ground twice.

The family then headed out, but a witness testified at trial that Sharmel Teague warned Munerlyn before leaving that they would be back.

Larry Teague and his son later came by the store, and the father yelled at Munerlyn that he disrespected his wife. The 23-year-old Bishop then pulled out a gun and shot the security guard in the back of the head, Sherlocks said.

Both men were arrested following a manhunt.

Brya Bishop was charged with tampering with evidence, lying to police and being an accessory to a felony. She was sentenced in November to time served and probation.

Latryna Sims, Munerlyn’s partner, on Tuesday wrote in an update on a GoFundMe page that was launched after his murder: "JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED!!!"

    by Emad Almarshahi

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] Unknown button men attacked on Wednesday the house of a security official with an RPG missile in the port city of Aden, which is controlled by the militia loyal to Saudi-led coalition.

According to informed sources, the unidentified button men attacked the home of director of the so-called "Public Relations and Moral Guidance" at the Ministry of Interior in the pro-coalition government, Abdulqawi Ba’ish, with an RPG, which caused severe damage to the house.

The sources confirmed that the earth-shattering kaboom led to a fire in the house, without any casualties among member of Ba’ish’s family.

The explosion resulting from the attack caused a state of terror and panic among the Ba’ish family and the people of the neighborhood in which they live, the sources added.

Accused Idaho killer Bryan Kohberger's search warrants unsealed
[NYPOST] Washington State University Police recovered a possibly blood-stained mattress cover, human hairs, a glove and a computer from University of Idaho murder suspect Brian Kohberger’s apartment, according to a search warrant unsealed in Washington Court on Wednesday.

Police executed a search warrant at the 28-year-old Ph.D student’s residence and office at Washington State University in Pullman on Dec. 29, the same day as Pennsylvania police and a SWAT team had raided his parents house and taken him into custody in the early hours of the morning.

According to the search warrant, the Washington State University Police also seized two cuttings from an uncased pillow with a “reddish/brown stain,” one “nitrite type black glove,” eight possible hair strands, a possible animal hair strand and other evidence including possible blood stains, which were sent to a lab for testing.

Kohberger was subsequently charged with masterminding and carrying out the vicious Nov. 13 killing spree in Moscow, Idaho — a ten minute drive from his residence — which saw four defenseless students knifed to death as they slept.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
    Briefly about miscellaneous. 01/18/2023
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] 1. The State Duma is considering a law on the confiscation of the property of "good Russians" who fled abroad. The law is necessary and correct. The money received under this law can be sent to some fund to help residents of new territories of the country (optional here). I wonder if the new law will affect the assets of rushing oligarchs and characters like Chubais. For example, there are questions about Friedman and Aven.

    2. Regarding Prigozhin's statements about the need to block YouTube. It seems that the state could set a task for Prigozhin, take and develop a national video hosting service and, if this task is successfully solved, speed up the resolution of the issue with YouTube.

In fact, only the absence of an adequate alternative stops the blocking, which the authorities spoke about quite transparently back in the spring, while Facebook, Instagram and Twitter were unhooked quite easily and, as we see, no one died. Rutube, of course, objectively loses in a number of ways.

    3. The State Duma adopted a new law on social support for the widows of SVO participants. The adoption of this law was delayed a little, which is certainly necessary, as well as other measures to support NWO participants and their families.

    4. Mishustin said that no later than February, the issue of closing the needs of the Russian Armed Forces grouping in Ukraine in logistics, as well as ensuring the daily replenishment of military equipment at the front, will be resolved.

As the flywheel of the military-industrial complex spins up, production volumes should obviously increase, which will make it possible to more effectively solve supply issues in the medium term, although I do not think that the work of public and private volunteer humanitarian organizations will not be in demand. As before, it will remain an essential element of supply. Well, by March, let's see how successfully the commission, which is headed by Mishustin, has improved the work of supplying the army.

PS. Regarding the purpose of the flight of the crashed helicopter with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, they flew in a bathroom. The helicopter itself was on fire while still in the air.

Regarding the statements about the photo from the destroyed BMP "Bradley" https://t.me/boris_rozhin/75776 - this is a stuffing, they are not yet at the front, a photo from Yemen.

    Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran said to arrest German national for photographing oil sites
[IsraelTimes] Berlin says looking into report citizen detained, a day after summoning Tehran’s envoy to condemn execution of British-Iranian accused of spying

    Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
has arrested a German national for allegedly photographing oil facilities in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, an Iranian newspaper reported Tuesday.

"A German national was arrested while taking pictures of oil facilities in Omidiyeh," a town in the oil-producing province, the Jam-e Jam newspaper reported on its website.

The paper did not give details on the identity of the detained man or the date of his arrest.

Germany’s foreign ministry said it was aware of the information circulating in Iranian media.

"Our ambassador is currently seeking to shed light on this matter," the ministry told AFP.

The report comes as Iran has been rocked by protests over the September 16 death in jug of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd who had been arrested for an alleged breach of the country’s dress code for women.

Iranian authorities have accused hostile foreign nations of stoking the unrest and have made thousands of arrests.

The judiciary has confirmed 18 people have been sentenced to death in connection with the "riots," according to an AFP tally based on official announcements. Four have been executed.

Senior STC commander killed in explosion
    by Emad Almarshahi

[HODHODYEMENNEWS] A senior military commander of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia was killed on Wednesday along with his lover companions in a kaboom in Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...
    province, south of Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
Local sources said that an improvised bomb (IED) went kaboom! and targeted a military vehicle carrying the commander Abdul Rahim al-Makar and six of his escorts, while passing through Wadi Omran in Mudiyah district.

The STC accused al-Qaeda of being behind the liquidations of its members in the districts of Abyan, in cooperation and coordination with elements of the Islah Party in the province.

El Chapo begs Mexico President AMLO to pull him out of 'cruel' US prison
[NYPOST] Convicted drug kingpin Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman is whining about the "cruel and unfair" conditions at his high-security US prison — and is begging authorities in Mexico to move him to friendlier confines in his native land.

The notorious narco-trafficker, who was extradited to the US in 2017 and is locked up at a super-max federal prison in Colorado, is pleading with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador to pull some strings and get him back home, Mexico News Daily reported.

Guzman’s lawyer said things are so bad that when his client had a toothache, prison staffers just yanked his teeth.

"He doesn’t see the sun, the food is of very bad quality, there is no health care," attorney Jose Refugio Rodriguez told news hounds.

"He had a problem with his molars and instead of treating them, they took them out so he wouldn’t fuss," Rodriguez said, according to the outlet. "He is hurting in a trial that was not in accordance with due process."

Watch Mel Gibson's Get the Gringo. Mexican prison is a lot like house arrest, if you've got the cash to spread around. A US prison, even Club Fed, is nothing like house arrest. Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders Mary Lawlor accused the Tajik government of creating a ''climate of fear'' in the country
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

    Tajikistan’s human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
violations have become the focus of the international community’s attention. To this day, its residents face restrictions on their basic rights due to government corruption and its systematic violation of the rights of its citizens, which impedes the processes of social and democratic reform in the country.

Al-Estiklal received a copy of the Intelligence Online’s report published on January 5, 2022, revealing that after a two-week visit to Tajikistan, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders Mary Lawlor on December 9 accused the Tajik government of creating a "climate of fear" in the country and harassing dissidents, subjecting some to show trials and imprisoning them.

Last February, the US Ambassador to Tajikistan, John Pommersheim, and Tajikistan’s Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramazan Rahimzadeh, attended the handover ceremony of a facility set up for the ministry’s OMON gendarmerie-like paramilitary force.

    OMON UNITS
The Intelligence Online report disclosed that OMON is charged with special operations and counter-terrorism and is also involved in arrests, interrogations, and torture of Pamiri civilians.
Pamiris are considered Tajik by the authorities, but others define them as a separate ethnic group, differing from Tajiks in terms of language, religion and culture. Pamiri languages are a Southeastern branch of the Iranian language family. Additionally, while most Tajiks are Sunni, Pamiris are Ismaili Shiites.
The US Central Command’s Drug Enforcement Program (CENTCOM) provided funding to build the facility.

Last August, Tajikistan’s President Rahmon presented promotions and medals to army officers who managed operations in the Pamir region of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.

During the ceremony, a video showed OMON soldiers searching the bodies of killed Pamiri men deemed as "terrorists," and putting weapons on their bodies to take pictures, which human rights defenders opposed.

That same month, Pommersheim visited Gorno-Badakhshan to attend the Pamir-Invest Forum and met with the province’s governor "to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation," in the words of the US embassy.

Pommersheim also established a friendly relationship with Tajik General Saimumin Yatimov, who has headed the state apparatus of national security since 2010 and is considered one of the most powerful people in the country. Yatimov worked during his career in various fields, including education, but a leaked cable from the US State Department in 2005 described him as a "professional KGB officer."

Pommersheim relied on his deputy, John Ginkel—an expert on Afghanistan and counter-terrorism, who headed the State Department’s Bureau of Afghan Affairs and served on the US Embassy’s counternarcotics task force—until September 2021 before being replaced by Bridgette Walker, former employee of the US State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research who served in Baku, Alexandria, and Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years. It produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. That's three statements. Only the first is subjective....
While he was ambassador, the United States provided assistance to Yatimov’s border forces, receiving in November 2021 Jeep cars worth nearly $1 million and in March last year trucks, radios, and spare parts worth $1.1 million.

Ukrainian interior minister dies in helicopter crash
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[ColonelCassad] The helicopter crashed in a residential area in the suburbs of Kyiv, Brovary, on Wednesday morning, January 18. It is reported that high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine were in it. It is also known that the helicopter crashed near the kindergarten, according to preliminary information, there are victims among children. "Izvestia" has collected everything that is known about what happened at the moment.

    WHAT HAPPENED
Reports about the fall of the aircraft in the suburbs of Kyiv appeared around 10 am. Later it became known that we are talking about a helicopter. The aircraft crashed near the kindergarten, which at that moment could have children. After that, a strong fire started in the area of the fall.

This, in particular, was stated by the head of the administration of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksiy Kuleba.

“In the city of Brovary, a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building. During the tragedy, children and employees of the institution were in the kindergarten. At the moment, everyone has been evacuated. There are victims,” he wrote in his Telegram channel.

    WHO WAS ON BOARD
On board the helicopter, according to preliminary information from the media and representatives of the emergency services of Ukraine , there were nine people.

Data on victims is constantly updated. According to the latest information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 14 people died as a result of the disaster, including 1 child, and 25 people were injured. Rescue work completed.

It is reported that high-ranking representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine could be on board the helicopter. In particular, as a result of the crash, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denis Monastyrsky and his deputy Yevgeny Enin were killed. According to the National Police of Ukraine, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich is among the dead.

POLITICAL VIEWS AND ACTIVITIES OF MONASTYRSKY
Denis Monastyrsky took office as head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on June 16, 2021. He replaced the infamous Arsen Avakov at this post.

Monastyrsky is a Ukrainian lawyer, politician, people's deputy of Ukraine of the 9th convocation from the Servant of the People party, an expert on reforming the judicial and law enforcement systems. Prior to his appointment, he served as head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement. Previously, he taught at the Khmelnitsky University of Management and Law, headed the department for lawmaking and scientific expertise. From 2014 to 2019, he was an assistant to Anton Gerashchenko, the creator of the Peacemaker website.

Denis Monastyrsky was born on June 12, 1980 in Khmelnitsky. Graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Khmelnitsky University of Management and Law. In 2002-2006 he studied at the Institute of State and Law named after. V.M. Koretsky NAS of Ukraine. PhD in Law.

Awarded with the Order of Merit, III degree. He was married and raised two sons.

As head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, he supported the distribution of weapons to civilians "to protect their homes" and organized mass exercises for civilians on the safe handling of weapons and explosive objects.

In recent days, he led the “search for collaborators” at Ukrainian checkpoints. Monastyrsky's statement about the protection of buildings in Ukraine became resonant. “If some “Girkin” (ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR) tries to seize our administrative buildings, he will be shot by our special forces without warning, and no hesitation,” the head of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said.

In 2021, he investigated the “conspiracy against Zelensky”, which resulted in a series of high-profile arrests in Kyiv due to the threat of riots. Monastyrsky believed that the organizers of the riots were controlled from Moscow.

The government of Ukraine has appointed head of the National Police Igor Klymenko as interim minister of internal affairs. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal wrote about this in his Telegram.

    UNRELIABLE HELICOPTER
The helicopter that crashed in Brovary turned out to be a French Eurocopter EC225 LP Super Puma from Airbus or its equivalent. Presumably the car belonged to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Ukraine.
    "car"?
Super Puma helicopters were delivered to Kyiv in 2018. The aircraft were created in the late 1970s, the crew is two people, the maximum takeoff weight of the helicopter is 11,200 kg.

Helicopters of this class have been in accidents more than once, and the German leadership even forbade Angela Merkel, at that time German Chancellor, to use this vehicle because of its unreliability, after a similar device crashed into the North Sea. Then 10 people died. The European aviation authority EASA also announced the suspension of flights of the military and civilian model of this helicopter in 2016. The ban affected almost 800 cars worldwide.

    POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THE CRASH
Official versions of the causes of the disaster have not yet been put forward.

The Ukrainian media called two versions of the fall. First, the helicopter was flying at low altitude due to fog, and the pilot lost control. The second is that he was shot down by his own Ukrainian air defense system. The Ukrainian agency UNN reports that the helicopter caught fire while still in the air. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine named equipment malfunction, violation of security rules and sabotage among the possible causes of the helicopter crash in Brovary.

The representative of the command of the air forces of Ukraine, commenting on the situation, said that it was too early to talk about the causes of the incident, the investigation could take several weeks. The death of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

Says Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
The death of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine

[ColonelCassad] In Brovary, a helicopter with the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine fell on a kindergarten. 18 people died, including 3 children from kindergarten. 29 people were injured, including 15 children.
Among the dead are Minister of Internal Affairs Monastyrsky, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Yenin, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Lubkovich.

The official cause of the helicopter crash is pilot error. Unofficial versions include Ukrainian air defense friendly fire (the helicopter could have received a missile from the Stinger MANPADS).

From Russian military blogger Andrey Chervonets:
    About Brovary

For the sake of saving their Svidomo dupy, they decided to risk their children and kill them?

The Ukrainian TG channel "Legitimny", citing its sources, reports that the pilots of the helicopter that crashed today in Brovary apparently purposely sent the burning vehicle to the kindergarten.

When the helicopter with the highest ranks of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs caught fire, the pilots decided to land, choosing for this the roof of the kindergarten, as the most convenient landing site.

But the helicopter did not land, but crashed, hitting the garden, spun and flew off to a residential building.

At the time of the tragedy, there were children and teachers in the kindergarten; parents led their children to the kindergarten through the territory of the kindergarten.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the number of people who died as a result of a plane crash in Brovary has increased to 17 people, of which 4 are children. 25 people were injured, 11 of them were children.

    More from Chervonets:
The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine left the chat

This morning, a helicopter with the leadership of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs crashed in Brovary near Kiev

The cause of the accident is fog and low altitude of the helicopter.

All nine people on board the crashed helicopter were killed. Among them are the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Denis Monastyrsky, Yevgeny Yenin and Secretary of State Yuri Lubkovich.

It is already known about 18 dead in Brovary. The rest of the dead are children and adults who were near the kindergarten. They write about three kids. 25 people were injured, including 10 children.

I remember how the Bandera people dispersed the heart-rending rapture after similar disasters in Russia, with whatever epithets they called the dead, how vilely they called the children names ...

But then trouble came to the Bandera house, and there was no heart-rending screeching from our side. Everyone sympathizes with the families of the victims. There is no sympathy for the Banderas themselves, but there is for peaceful people and children. We must continue to stay away from this cannibalistic madness, from Satan.

    From regnum.ru:
Footage of the first minutes after the helicopter crash in Brovary appeared on the Web

New footage of the first minutes after the helicopter crash appeared near a kindergarten in Brovary, Kyiv region. The video was posted on Ukrainian social networks.

Footage taken from the top of the building shows numerous burning debris, puffs of smoke and thick fog.

Recall that the incident occurred at 08:20 local time in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region. As a result of the helicopter crash, the building of the kindergarten was damaged, the roof caught fire.

According to the latest data, 14 people died, including one child, six employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and three crew members.

The Russian Armed Forces continue to inflict fire damage on military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of the special military operation.

Artillerymen admit that one of the most effective ways of working is the “roaming mortar”. The main rule of this tactic is a quick change of firing position. The speed and accuracy of hitting targets is achieved thanks to the adjustment of fire using an unmanned aerial vehicle.

Calculators have nerves of iron. To the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at best, a few kilometers, but the fighters have no fuss or haste. A few minutes are enough to bring the mortar to battle.

Combat missions as part of the calculation of the 82-mm Vasilek mortar mounted on the Ural vehicle are performed by military personnel who were called up from the reserve as part of partial mobilization, and volunteers.

17:16 According to information received from a source in Kherson, this afternoon the Russian Armed Forces launched an artillery strike on the location of one of the units of the 124th territorial defense brigade.

    Government Corruption
DOJ boosts Biden — but tarnishes itself — by letting his own lawyers search for classified docs
[NYPOST] Given the opportunity to search President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences. So does Afghanistan, aka Biden's Bungle...
’s office and residences, the Department of Justice declined to do so, The Wall Street Journal reports. Instead, it allowed potentially uncleared and unnamed private counsel to search for classified material after the discovery of the highly classified documents in the Penn Biden Center office. It was a decision that could benefit Biden greatly, but at a considerable cost to the department itself.

If true, the decision raises additional questions over the independence of top law enforcement personnel. This follows a litany of controversies involving both Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
    and Biden where the FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
and DOJ have been accused of political bias and unequal treatment. While the FBI recently denounced critics as "conspiracy theorists," the record of inexplicable decisions continues to grow by the day.

There is no plausible reason why, given the chance, the Justice Department would not want to conduct a national security search itself. After Nov. 2, the Justice Department was aware that material at the top secret or higher levels was discovered in a closet in the Penn Biden Center. It was also aware that the material may have been moved over the course of six years and that other material could be in other unsecured locations. Nevertheless, it reportedly opted to allow uncleared attorneys to search for additional classified material under a type of "look but please don’t read" edict.

#6  Since the commentary so far implies that the strategy for Jojo is going to be these classified docs were all packed up in error after the 2016 election, and just sat unnoticed for six years in dusty boxes, it is essential that the precise in situ description of where they were discovered and possible associated non-classified personal papers proximate to them be left unknown. Since I am relatively certain that the classified docs are in fact illegal copies or printed JPEG files, thus making records of who had last access unreliable as proof of responsibility and access, the details of their discovery become essential to the matter of responsibilty for handling. Indeed, the actual classified materials in question may well have been physically sanitized before being turned over to DOJ. As a consequence, the context of their discovery is an essential component of the investigation to determine if they were in use after the initial removal from a secure facility. And now comes the explanation for why Biden's lawyers, even without proper clearances, were permitted solo searching by DOJ. Attorney Client privilege associated with their behavior on behalf of their client at his residences may well protect the incrimination facts of their initial discovery details from being disclosed to investigators! Absent certainty, the farce of denial and clumsy handling by unknowns makes it fr mroe difficult to pin gross negligence on a sitting President, a classic Clintonian cleanup.

    Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Forum in Davos goes to the dustbin of history
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
    by Irina Alksnis

[RIA] Something mysterious is going on at the World Economic Forum (WEF) this week in Davos, Switzerland. The word "failure" does not sound yet, but the Western media are already writing about "deep problems" openly and massively.

This is all the more interesting, given the announcements of the event, which were inspiring and bravura. A record number of more than 2,700 participants planned to attend the forum, including more than 50 heads of state and government. A week ago, Reuters sarcastically wrote that against the backdrop of the absence of Russians, a highly representative participation of China is expected .

And then reality took over. No, a huge crowd really came to the forum, but the point is not in quantity, but in the quality of participants. And then there were clear problems.

First, last week, George Soros suddenly announced his absence from the WEF, for whom visiting Davos had been a mandatory item on the program for many years. The infamous billionaire and one of the symbols of multinational business referred to the "insurmountable conflict of schedules" and promised to speak at the Munich Security Conference in a month.

Then it turned out that of the G7 heads of state, only the German chancellor would come to Switzerland . And on Sunday, due to the ongoing energy crisis in the country, the president of South Africa, by the way, the largest economy in Africa, canceled a trip to the WEF.

Well, already on Monday, on the opening day of the event, an information bomb was detonated by Bloomberg, which found out that Chinese business would not come to Davos. The Chinese delegation is headed by Vice Premier Liu He, who has been working on his post for the past few weeks.

In general, the almost complete absence of the highest-level participants at the current forum is so blatant that nothing can disguise it. True, instead of presidents and prime ministers of major powers, many entrepreneurs have come to Davos this year - as many as 116 billionaires have registered to participate in the forum, which is 40 percent more than ten years ago. Bloomberg lamented that their number would have been even greater, but falling markets have turned many billionaires into millionaires.

Experts frankly point out that this concentration of business only highlights the apparent decline in relevance that the WEF is experiencing, which reflects the deglobalization that is sweeping the world. Well, simply because for half a century the forum in Davos itself was a symbol of globalization.

However, it seems that things are even worse for Davos and its organizers.
What is globalization anyway? What format has been promoted by theorists and practitioners of globalism in recent decades?

It was supposed to create a network of international structures, which were to be gradually, but more and more widely delegated powers that had previously been exclusively the state prerogative. As a result, the most important areas of decision-making were to be transferred to the supranational level, which would mean the elimination of national sovereignty as such. At the same time, the main beneficiary of the new system would be transnational, global capital, which would rule the planet and local authorities with the help of a vast conglomerate of various structures - from the WTO to the WHO , from the EU to the Trans-Pacific Partnership( TPP ).

And in general, the process even went in this direction. Globalists with their concepts of transhumanism, birth control, paid access to fresh water and other equally "attractive" ideas have managed to turn into one of the most frightening horror stories for humanity. And the growing political weight of events like the WEF, which brought together the most powerful people in the world, only reinforced public fears.

And now all this reputation that has been built up over decades is now blown away like a balloon simply because the leaders of the leading powers did not come to Davos. During the period of the unipolar world, it was indeed easier for transnational capital to claim the desired status of global power: it was possible to negotiate with some of the national elites, to convince others, to buy some. However, now that the system is disintegrating, the reality is simultaneously revealed, demonstrating who actually decides the fate of specific countries and the entire planet, and whose place is in backup dances.

In this sense, Soros' cancellation of the traditional trip to the forum is extremely revealing. The seasoned businessman realized before others that in Davos there simply would be no one to negotiate with and achieve the desired decisions, which means that there was no point in going, only wasting time.

His more naive and inexperienced colleagues - even though they have accounts with nine zeros - flooded the Swiss resort and provided the main news of this year's World Economic Forum with the rush demand for girls (and boys) who arrived there to work with reduced social responsibility.

Iran releases celebrity chef arrested in crackdown
[IsraelTimes] Human rights groups says Navab Ebrahimi, known for his videos promoting Persian cooking, has been sprung; no reason was given for his detention

    Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
has released a prominent chef and Instagram influencer who was detained earlier this month in its crackdown on nationwide protests, human rights
When they're defined by the state or an NGO they don't mean much...
    groups and supporters said.

Navab Ebrahimi, known for his videos promoting Persian cooking, was arrested in Tehran on January 4 and taken to the city’s Evin prison.

Nik Yusefi, an Iranian filmmaker and photographer who was himself arrested in October as part of the crackdown and then freed, wrote on Twitter that Ebrahimi had been released on bail on Wednesday.

He posted a picture of Ebrahimi smiling with his partner.

The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) also said Ebrahimi had been released on bail, adding there was still no word on the charges leveled against him.

Iran has arrested at least 14,000 people in the wave of protests sparked by the September 16 death in jug of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish woman who had been arrested for allegedly breaching the strict dress code for women, according to the UN.

Prominent journalists, filmmakers, lawyers and activist muppets have been arrested. Some have been released on bail, including star actor Taraneh Alidoosti, but others remain in prison.

No reason has been given for the arrest of Ebrahimi, who had some 2.7 million followers on Instagram enjoying his slickly produced videos showing how to produce classic Persian dishes without pain.

But social media users said the arrest coincided with him posting a recipe to make Persian cutlets on the day the Iranian authorities marked the third anniversary of the killing by the United States of Revolutionary Guards General Qassem Soleimani
    .

Some Iranians opposed to the regime have made a habit of posting images of cutlets on the anniversary of his death, in reference to the manner of his killing in a US dronezap in Iraq.

Ukrainian Perspective: Invasion of Ukraine: January 18th, 2023
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Korrespondent] 22:35 Zelensky said in an evening video message that the situation at the front remains difficult: "The epicenter of the most brutal and principled battles is in the Donbass. We are gradually recording an increase in the number of shelling and offensive attempts from the invaders."

21:58 According to CNN, the new package of military assistance to Ukraine from the United States will include, in particular, Stryker armored personnel carriers and small-sized GLSDB high-precision missiles capable of flying 150 km. And Abrams tanks allegedly do not want to be sent because of the complexity of operation and maintenance.

In turn, the Süddeutsche Zeitung writes that Scholz, during a telephone conversation with Biden, announced his readiness to allow the supply of Leopard tanks to Ukraine, but only on the condition that the United States provide its Abrams.

21:37 The United States will allocate $ 125 million to repair the energy system of Ukraine, said the head of USAID Samantha Power. This amount will be used to purchase backup electricity for water and heat supply systems in Kyiv. Gas turbines, transformers and other vital energy equipment will also be replenished.

20:54 The day before, Russian propagandists announced that their leader Vladimir Putin would come out to the Russians with a new "urgent appeal." They expected that the President of the Russian Federation would announce a new wave of mobilization, because in Russia they say they want to increase the army to one and a half million people. The American Institute for the Study of War suggested that Putin could have officially declared war on Ukraine today. However, the head of the Kremlin vaguely repeated his old theses about the "situation" in Ukraine and once again changed the goal of a full-scale invasion. Read more in the material What Putin said today .

20:09 Zelensky at a forum in Davos announced Ukraine's desire to join NATO. He stressed that the alliance is the best guarantee of security: “We understand that at the moment we are not there yet, unfortunately. Russia understands this well, and they are doing everything possible to make it not easy for us to join. But we are on the way to NATO because NATO is the best guarantee of security for us, for our country, for our children."

19:57 Zelensky, during a speech at a forum in Davos, said that the hostilities have slowed down, Russia is preparing for revenge: "The war really slows down in winter. There are understandable circumstances and understandable reasons. Everyone gets tired - nature, people and, thank God, the enemy too. It all looks like this: daily fierce battles in the east of our state ... We stand steadfastly and firmly ... As for other parts of our state - south and north - we control the situation ... We see that Russia is trying to go, to strengthen and prepare for revenge. We believe that they will not succeed, because they are not fighting against Ukraine, but against a civilized approach to life."

19:36 Polish President Andrzej Duda also said at a forum in Davos that the situation in Ukraine could be critical in the near future. He stressed that the Russian army, which has not yet weakened, is preparing for a new offensive in Ukraine, so Kyiv needs to provide more tanks. "In a few months or weeks, the decisive moment will come, and we will understand whether Ukraine will survive," he said.

19:31 The United States is preparing in the coming days to announce one of the largest military aid packages to Ukraine, which, however, will not include tanks - Washington is not yet ready to satisfy this request from Kiev, CNN reports, citing two American officials.

18:56 Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said that the next weeks could become critical for hostilities in Ukraine: "The next six weeks - two months may be critical for hostilities in Ukraine. I spoke on the phone with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday and agree that Russia might launch a big offensive again."

Rutte stressed that with this in mind, the West must do more for Ukraine: "That's why now, together with the United States and Germany, we are participating in a joint mission that will be of decisive importance."

18:24 The Russian army is focusing its main efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut direction. It also conducts unsuccessful offensive operations in the Avdeevsky direction and is trying to improve the tactical situation in the Limansky direction. In the Zaporizhia direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of the settlements of Orekhov and Gulyaipole. The enemy is on the defensive in the Kupyansk, Novopavlovsk and Kherson directions, the General Staff reported in the evening summary.

17:46 Podolyak, after Putin's today's statement, again stated that negotiations are impossible: "Putin is very predictable in his Orwellism:" NVO is an attempt to end the war... War is peace... Slavery is freedom... Occupied the lands of Donbass are a historical part of Russia under the wild name L/DPR. "There will be no insight. Negotiations are impossible. Russia is aimed exclusively at war."

17:37 Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that his country cannot support Russia's invasion of Ukraine and recognizes Crimea and Donbass as Ukrainian territories: "We said from the very beginning that we could not and have no right to support Russia's invasion of Ukraine. For us, Crimea - this is Ukraine, Donbass is Ukraine, and it will always be so."

In an interview with Bloomberg, he also predicted that in the war between Ukraine and Russia, "the worst is ahead" as both sides deepen into the conflict. Vučić also said that he had not spoken to Putin for "many months" and, despite his "traditionally good relations" with Russia, he did not support all of the Kremlin's decisions.

17:15 Consultations are underway between NATO countries on sending tanks and other modern weapons to Ukraine, Stoltenberg said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. He stressed that Ukraine needs not only tanks, but also "more air defense systems", as well as "spare parts, ammunition and maintenance of the equipment already transferred." The Secretary General believes that now "the key moment of the conflict is taking place," and the prospects for a peaceful settlement "depend on NATO military supplies."

16:58 The IAEA launched an observation mission at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

16:47 The European Parliament adopted an appeal to Scholz with a call to allow the supply of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The appeal also indicates the need to create a European consortium in order to immediately supply tanks to Ukraine. The dpa agency notes that such an appeal by the EP to the head of government of one of the EU countries is an unusual step, especially considering that it was prepared by a politician from a party that is part of the ruling coalition in Germany. The corresponding proposal to the EP was made by the deputy Reinhard Butikofer from the German Green Party.

16:18 Search and rescue operations at the crash site in Brovary have been completed. According to the final data of the State Emergency Service, a total of 14 people died, including one child, 25 people were injured, including 11 children.

15:31 Head of the National Police Igor Klymenko will act as Minister of Internal Affairs , Shmyhal said.

15:20 Canada will transfer another 200 armored vehicles to Ukraine, Defense Minister Anita Anand said during a visit to Kiev. It is expected that all 200 vehicles will be shipped to Ukraine by summer.

15:02 Latvia will soon transfer another batch of military aid to Ukraine, Minister of Defense Inara Murniece said following a visit to Ukraine: "In the near future we will send new batches of military support to Ukraine - Stinger anti-aircraft missile systems, helicopters, machine guns with ammunition." Sending the first batch of military equipment is expected on January 25.

In addition, according to her, this year Latvia will continue training Ukrainian military at various levels, and it is planned to increase the intensity of training at least twice.
Nobody wants to encourage Russian expansion again by allowing the first domino to fall.
14:33 Deputy Interior Minister Bogdan Drapyaty and head of the State Emergency Service Serhiy Kruk announced the names of the pilots and passengers of the helicopter that crashed in Brovary. Another name of the deceased was learned by the journalists of Ukrainska Pravda. In particular, Denis Monastyrsky, Yevgeny Enin, Yuri Lubkovich, Alexander Vasilenko, Konstantin Kovalenko, Ivan Kasyanov, Tatyana Shutyak, Mikhail Pavlushko and Nikolai Anatsky were killed.

13:49 UN Secretary General António Guterres said he does not see the prospects for the end of the war in Ukraine in the near future: "This war will end. Everything ends. But I do not see the end of this war in the near future, unfortunately. I do not see a chance that in now there may be peace talks between the two sides."

13:21 The SBU is considering three versions of the tragedy in Brovary: a violation of flight rules, a technical malfunction of a helicopter, or deliberate actions to destroy a vehicle.

13:18 Poland hopes to supply up to 100 Western tanks to Ukraine together with its allies, said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

13:14 The Office of the President clarified the data on the tragedy in Brovary: 16 people died, including three children, 30 people were hospitalized, including 12 children. Search work continues.

12:52 Putin said that the fighting in the Donbas has not stopped since 2014, and everything that Russia is doing today is allegedly "an attempt to stop the war." He also said that Russia "was simply led by the nose, deceived." "Nevertheless, we have done everything possible to resolve this situation by peaceful means. Now it has become obvious that this was by definition impossible," the Russian president added.

12:33 NATO countries should increase the production of equipment and ammunition both for Ukraine and for their own defense, said Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana. He also said that NATO would expand the alliance's combat groups on the eastern flank to the brigade level as soon as possible.

12:14 The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the capture of the settlement of Sol, Donetsk region.

11:52 Die Welt writes that Bulgaria secretly supplied Ukraine with ammunition and diesel fuel in the spring. Transportation was paid by the USA and Britain, cargo flights went through the Polish Rzeszow. According to the publication, at some points Bulgaria covered a third of the needs of the Ukrainian troops.

11:46 According to the official information of the State Emergencies Service, as of 11:00, as a result of a helicopter crash in Brovary, 15 people were killed, including three children, 25 people were injured (including ten children), who were hospitalized in hospitals (the information is being specified).

11:21 The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs flew by helicopter on a business trip to one of the hot spots, the President's Office reported. The speaker of the Air Force, Yuri Ignat, specified that they were flying on a Super Puma helicopter donated by France. To clarify the causes of the incident, a state commission will be created.

11:18 Electricity consumption in Ukraine on January 18 is predicted to be somewhat less than the day before - this is facilitated by warming. At the same time, there is a significant shortage of power in the power system, especially during the evening peak of consumption. Generation now does not cover a quarter of consumption in the country, Ukrenergo reported.

Consumption limits for the whole day have been brought to all oblenergos. Due to their excess, emergency shutdowns have already been applied in Kharkov, Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Zaporozhye, Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions of Ukraine. Also in the area of hostilities in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions there are damages in the networks of regional power companies.

11:12 In Russia, they are preparing for a new wave of mobilization - residents of Moscow are under the gun of military registration and enlistment offices, a ban is introduced to gather in groups of more than 20 people, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported. According to intelligence, groups of employees of the military registration and enlistment offices arrive at Moscow enterprises to carry out campaigning. These measures are accompanied by moral pressure and intimidation of people.

In addition, campaigning among foreign citizens, including migrants from the former Soviet republics, is intensifying: men of military age applying for Russian citizenship are invited to sign a contract for military service - after that, the issue of granting citizenship is resolved automatically.

In Moscow, "voluntary" groups of 3-5 people are being formed to patrol the central streets, squares, places near metro stations and large shopping centers. Their task is to prevent a possible gathering of people to prevent protest actions. According to the instructions, any group of more than 20 people is considered "suspicious".

11:06 British intelligence reported that control of Soledar has probably passed to the Russian side. According to analysts, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have probably left the city and continue to defend in the vicinity of Bakhmut.

11:02 Lavrov said that there could be no talks about negotiations with Zelensky. According to him, Russia is ready to consider any "serious proposals from the West" for negotiations, but so far there have been none.

A total of 16 dead are known , including two children. Nine of the 16 dead were on board the helicopter. Also, 22 victims are in the hospital, of which ten are children.

Based on Igor Klymenko's report, among the dead are Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky, First Deputy Minister Yevgeny Yenin and State Secretary Yury Lubkovich.

10:07 According to preliminary information, as a result of a helicopter crash in Brovary, three people were killed, five were injured, the Brovary police department reported. Among the dead - two pilots, there are injured children. Air Force Speaker Yuri Ignat added that the helicopter belonged to the State Emergency Service.

09:26 The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) believes that Putin in the coming days, and possibly even on January 18, may announce a second wave of mobilization in Russia. Analysts drew attention to Peskov's statement that Putin would make a speech in St. Petersburg on January 18 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Soviet army breaking through the Nazi blockade of Leningrad. The ISW recalled that Putin likes to use symbolic dates to address his people.

Some Russian pro-war bloggers noted that the Russian president would use this opportunity to declare either mobilization or war on Ukraine. Ukrainian and Western intelligence has also repeatedly warned of Putin's mobilization preparations scheduled for mid-January.

09:15 In the Kupyansky district of the Kharkiv region, the Russians fired at a local hospital - a paramedic was wounded. Also, as a result of Russian shelling over the past day, two people were injured in the Donetsk region, four in Kherson region, according to the IVA.

09:07 In Brovary, Kiev region, an aircraft fell on a social infrastructure facility, the President's Office reported, without specifying details. Local publics write that after the crash of a helicopter or a drone, a fire broke out in a kindergarten. Irina Pryanishnikova, the speaker of the Kiev region police, specified that a helicopter crashed near a kindergarten in Brovary, a fire broke out, and people were being evacuated.

09:01 The United States began to use ammunition from warehouses in Israel to supply Ukraine, writes The New York Times. This is the military property of the Americans for use in the Middle East conflicts. Israel agreed to this after meetings in the government. The US decided to satisfy the request in order to avoid tensions with an ally, and also because the ammunition is American property, although Israel also has access to them, the newspaper notes.

According to the NYT, about half of the 300,000 shells intended for the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already been seized from Israeli warehouses and sent to Europe in order to get to Ukraine through Poland.

08:53 The General Staff announced the approximate losses of the enemy as of the morning of January 18.

    • personnel - about 117,770 (+820) people liquidated,

    • tanks - 3130 (+9),

    • armored combat vehicles - 6225 (+10),

    • artillery systems - 2108 (+4),

    • MLRS - 442 (+1),

    • air defense systems - 220 (+0),

    • aircraft - 287 (+1),

    • helicopters - 276 (+0),

    • UAV operational-tactical level - 1876 (+4),

    • cruise missiles - 749 (+0),

    • ships/boats - 17 (+0),

    • automotive equipment and tankers - 4889 (+12),

    • special equipment - 190 (+0).

08:45 The enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut direction. He is also conducting unsuccessful offensive operations in the Avdeevsky direction, the General Staff said in the morning summary . The units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Belogorovka in the Lugansk region and Sol, Krasnaya Gora, Bakhmut, Klescheevka, Vodiane, Nevelskoye, Maryinka and Pobeda in the Donetsk region.

Due to the small number of collaborators, the occupiers are forced to import officials from Russia to perform managerial functions in the occupied territories. In addition, there is a shortage of workers in various industries, as local residents do not want to cooperate with the occupiers. Therefore, the Russians are trying to bring workers from the Russian Federation and the Crimea.

07:27 The United States may announce new military assistance to Ukraine by the end of the week, said John Kirby, adviser for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council.

04:23 Russia convened a meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the alleged harassment of the Russian Church in Ukraine, Ukraine's permanent representative Serhiy Kyslitsa said: "We have already heard crazy statements about combat mosquitoes, Ukrainian dirty bombs and chemical weapons, secret laboratories, etc. Today, the Russian representative went even further. This is a real mockery of the Security Council, when an accomplice of crimes against humanity dresses in the mantle of a preacher and tells the Security Council which denomination in Ukraine should be recognized as canonical and which as heretical."

Kyslytsya read out a statement from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which notes that it "did not turn to any state for help in protecting its rights, especially to the state that carried out a treacherous armed attack on our country."

03:18 Biden and Scholz had a telephone conversation during which they discussed support for Ukraine. According to the German federal government, both sides agreed that support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression must be "effective, continuous and closely coordinated."

02:22 Biden intends to fulfill the promises he made to Zelensky regarding the transfer of everything necessary for self-defense, said White House Speaker Karine Jean Pierre. According to her, the agreements involve, among other things, the transfer of air defense systems.

01:55 Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said at a meeting of the Security Council that "violations of humanitarian law by Kiev" led to the tragedy in the Dnieper. He stated that the Russian missile was allegedly knocked out by a Ukrainian air defense installation located in residential areas.

"Just as there would be no need on our part to carry out strikes against an infrastructure facility that supports the military potential of Ukraine, if the Ukrainian leadership showed readiness for peace negotiations on realistic terms that would eliminate the reasons that necessitated the SVO," Nebenzya added.

01:46 In Moscow, the police detained four people who laid flowers at the monument to Lesya Ukrainka, where a memorial appeared in memory of those who died because of the Russian strike on the Dnieper.

01:20 The German weapons manufacturer Rheinmetall announced that it would be able to transfer from 10 to 15 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine in 2023 if the German authorities make an appropriate decision. They added that the repair of Leopard 2 is quite expensive, so the company cannot finance it on its own.

00:17 Russia's demands to Ukraine to take into account the "new territorial realities" are unacceptable and harmful to the establishment of a peaceful negotiation process, Blinken said.

Turkish bank appeals to US Supreme Court over claims it violated Iran sanctions
[IsraelTimes] Department of Justice says it is one of the most serious sanctions-breaking cases it has seen, but Halkbank claims immunity under the US Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act

    The United States Supreme Court
...the political football known as The Highest Court in the Land, home of penumbrae and emanations...
will hear arguments Tuesday in an appeal by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s Halkbank against US charges that it violated sanctions on Iran.

The bank wants the high court to rule on its claim that as a state-owned bank, it has immunity under the US Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act.

Halkbank was hit with criminal charges in 2019 that it took part in a year-long scheme to launder billions of dollars’ worth of Iranian oil and natural gas proceeds, violating US sanctions on Iran.

The funds were used to buy gold and the transactions were disguised as food and medicine purchases in order to fall under a humanitarian exemption to the sanctions, according to court documents.

Halkbank allegedly used front companies to funnel $20 billion to Iran, including $1 billion through the US financial system, according to the US case.

The Department of Justice said it had charged the bank with six counts of fraud, money laundering, and sanctions offenses, calling it one of the most serious sanctions-breaking cases it has seen.

Halkbank says that the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act, which protects foreign leaders and governments from lawsuits in the United States, extends to state-owned businesses.

US courts have disagreed, and the issue is now to be decided by the Supreme Court.

But the case is underpinned by the politics of US relations with Turkey, a NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
ally and an important power in Middle East politics.

Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
has repeatedly rejected the charges against the bank, saying Turkey did not violate the US embargo on Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
and that political rivals were behind the case.

Multiple individuals have already been found guilty in the case, including Mehmet Hakan Atilla, a deputy director general of the bank, who was convicted in 2018.

Atilla was placed in durance vile
Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages!
for a year and then released in 2019, and was greeted as a hero upon his return to Turkey.

Video of Wagner (Russian) soldiers being attacked
[Newsweek] An attack against Russian Wagner Group mercenaries in Soledar resulted in 25 deaths, Ukrainian officials claimed on Wednesday.

The strike came after recent Russian statements of victory in the Ukrainian salt-mining town located 9 miles from another heavily contested battle area, Bakhmut. The paramilitary Wagner Group, headed by Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, has led forces in Soledar.

A video originally posted by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook was reposted by Rob Lee, senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, on Twitter. He said the strikes were conducted by Ukraine's 45th artillery brigade on Wagner soldiers.

The video shows a long-range view of troops in trenches, caught in the crosshairs and quickly taken out.

    Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Diplomatic flurry as Jordan envoy briefly delayed at Temple Mount entrance
[IsraelTimes] Police say it’s ’fake news’ that Ghassan Majali was initially refused entry; Amman summons Israeli ambassador, then Majali makes his visit

Jordan’s ambassador to Israel visited the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on Tuesday after earlier leaving the holy site in protest at being held up by police at the entrance, prompting a diplomatic protest from Amman.

The Jordanian foreign ministry said it summoned Israel’s envoy Eitan Surkis after Ghassan Majali was allegedly "refused entry" to the Temple Mount. A statement from the ministry said Surkis was handed a letter of condemnation.

But Israeli police — and also Jordanian reports — indicated that rather than refusing him entry, cops briefly held him up since he hadn’t coordinated the visit with them.

In video footage, the ambassador was seen telling the police to "get away from me" as officers asked him to wait.

Majali left the area of the Old City’s Lion’s Gate after refusing to request permission to enter.

    However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
he later returned and toured the Temple Mount, including praying in al-Aqsa Mosque. Video from the visit showed a man approaching Majali and his entourage to serve them coffee as they walked around the compound.

The Israel Police decried reports that Israel refused to allow Majali to visit the Temple Mount as "fake news," saying the ambassador had arrived without any prior notification and that a policeman hadn’t immediately recognized him, causing a "very small" delay while the cop consulted his commander.

Majali then decided to leave, according to the police.

"Had he waited a few more seconds he could have entered," a police statement said.

Majali was accompanied by the head of the Islamic Waqf — a Jordanian-appointed council that administers the Temple Mount.

Later on Tuesday, a Foreign Ministry front man issued a statement asserting that "there is no change in Israel’s policy regarding the Temple Mount. Israel is committed to keeping the status quo on the Temple Mount and the freedom of worship in Jerusalem. The Israeli Police is responsible for law and order on the Temple Mount."

Tuesday’s incident came amid tensions over the flashpoint site, which is the holiest in Judaism and the third-holiest to Moslems, who refer to it as the Al Aqsa Mosque compound or the Noble Sanctuary. Far-right police minister Itamar Ben Gvir briefly visited the site earlier this month, drawing fury from the Arab world, including Jordan, which hauled in Surkis for a dressing down.

Surkis told the Jordanians at the time that Israel remained committed to the status quo, that there had not been any violations of the agreement and that Israeli ministers have visited the site in the past.

Ben Gvir has long been an advocate of formally altering the Temple Mount status quo, under which Moslems are allowed to pray and enter with few restrictions, while Jews can visit only during limited time slots via a single gate and walk on a predetermined route, closely accompanied by police. Jews are not allowed to pray at the site, though recent years have increasingly seen police allow some silent prayer.

Israel captured the Temple Mount and Jerusalem’s Old City from Jordan in the 1967 Six Day War, almost two decades after Amman conquered it during the War of Independence of 1948. However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
Israel allowed the Jordanian Waqf to continue to maintain religious authority atop the mount.

Israel’s 1994 peace deal with Jordan specified Jordan has a "special role" at Moslem holy sites in Jerusalem. Amman views itself as the custodian of the Temple Mount.

Last week, police were accused by the Waqf of holding up a visit by Lord Tariq Ahmad, the UK minister for the Middle East region, to the al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. Ahmad later played down the incident, telling the BBC that the hold-up was due to "security checks, whatever they needed to do."

Typically al-Aqsa’s top defender, Jordan signals it won’t dwell on spat at holy site
So much for all the white knighting.
[IsraelTimes] Despite scuffle between envoy and police on Temple Mount, Amman appears to be avoiding a major fight, says Israel, but wary Abdullah can only refrain from responding for so long

Boko Haram Terrorists Launch Attack On Borno Community, Kill Farmer, Abduct Eight Others
    [PUBLISH.TWITTER]

    Fighters of the Boko Haram
...the name means Western education is forbidden, They're what you get as the result of a traditional African or Islamic education...
sect have invaded farmlands in Makilwe village, Jere Local Government Area of Borno State, killing one farmer.

Sources said the bully boyz armed with sophisticated weapons sneaked into the farms on Tuesday evening.

About eight farmers were also kidnapped by the terrorists.

According to one of the sources, families of those kidnapped have been contacted by the sect who demanded millions of Naira as ransom.

"Boko Haram kidnapped eight farmers and killed one here at Makilwe village, which is three kilometers from Jere LGA headquarters, Khaddamari. The incident took place on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, around 4pm.

"The families have been contacted and millions of naira have been demanded as a ransom. The abduction took place 2 kilometres from Zabarmari, the infamous place where 50 farmers were slaughtered by Boko Haram two years ago. There is a military battalion of 300 soldiers in the village of Zabarmari. The attackers came on 10 brand new bikes," he told SaharaReporters.

Boko Haram has increasingly targeted farmers, herders and loggers, accusing them of spying and passing information to the Nigerian military.
    Oh? Interesting.
They have also been raiding herding communities, stealing cattle, a valuable commodity in the region to fund their operations.

In 2020, the bully boyz invaded a rice plantation in Zabarmari, a community in Jere Local Government Area, killing at least 43 farmers.

    Should he do it?

“We believe that the ban on President Trump’s account on Facebook has dramatically distorted and inhibited the public discourse,” Trump’s campaign wrote.

The campaign emphasized the importance of free speech and asked for a meeting to talk about the Republican’s swift return to the platform.

A Meta representative said the business “will announce a decision in the next weeks in line with the procedure we laid out” but otherwise declined to comment on Trump.

Authorities seize crypto website Bitzlato, arrest founder for allegedly operating criminal haven
[KOIN] An international group of law enforcement agencies seized a Hong Kong-registered cryptocurrency website and arrested its founder for allegedly operating a haven for criminals to launder funds.

Justice Department and Treasury Department officials on Wednesday alleged cryptocurrency exchange Bitzlato processed more than $700 million in illicit funds by failing to implement an effective anti-money laundering program and that it was aware some accounts were engaging in criminal activity.

Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco said U.S. and French authorities dismantled Bitzlato’s digital infrastructure and FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
agents arrested Russian national Anatoly Legkodymov, the founder and majority owner of the website, on Tuesday evening in Miami.

"Today, the Department of Justice has dealt a significant blow to the crypto crime ecosystem," Monaco said.

Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo said the department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network designated Bitzlato as a "primary money laundering concern" after authorities identified nearly 50 percent of Bitzlato’s known transactions between 2019 and 2021 as involving illicit Russian finances or other "risky sources."

"Bitzlato was particularly active in facilitating illicit activity, but it is ultimately part of a larger, larger ecosystem of cyber criminals that are allowed to operate with impunity within Russia," said Adeyemo.

Waters Paid Daughter's Firm More Campaign Cash as GOP Aims To End Practice
    [CONSERVATIVEBRIEF]

California Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters has paid her daughter over $1.2 million in total over the last decade and it’s all been legal. Now, Republicans are aiming to put a ban on lawmakers from putting family members on the campaign payroll after many prominent Democrats have been called out over the practice.

Republican Texas Rep. Pat Fallon has introduced legislation called the Family Integrity to Reform Elections Act, which would prevent campaign funds from going to a candidate’s immediate family. The bill, if passed, would also make the candidate directly responsible for knowingly violating the provision.
This will bring attention to the problem and provide campaign talking points for whoever runs against Rep. Waters, but even if it passes the House it won’t get through the Senate during this session.

'Not a Joke' — Joe Biden Claims He Attended a Black Church Every Day After Morning Mass
[BREITBART] President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S., father of Hunter, close friend of an imaginary negro named Corn Pop. He blames Trump for losing Afghanistan....
on Sunday claimed he attended a black Church in Delaware every morning after he attended Catholic Mass in high school.

"I may be a practicing Catholic, we used to go 7:30 am mass every morning in high school and college before I went to the black church," he said. "Not a joke."
    Then why are we laughing?
Biden spoke about his personal experience with the black church during a visit to the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia to recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day.

The president has repeatedly claimed he was close with the black church in Delaware, despite longtime congregants saying they do not remember Biden attending the church.
    He sat in the back.
Biden made a similar claim in October 2020, during a speech to the Bethlehem Baptist Church in South Carolina.

"I’d go to 8 o’clock Mass, then I’d go to Reverend Herring’s church where we’d meet in order to organize and figure where we were going to go, whether we were going to desegregate the Rialto movie theater or what we were going to do," he said.
Then he went to schul, more than most rabbis.
Despite ongoing questions about his claims about spending significant time in the black church, Biden has repeated his claim.

"I was raised in the black church politically — not a joke," he said during a speech at an NAACP event in Iowa in 2020.
And in Delaware's Jewish, Puerto Rican, and Nanticoke communities.
Biden spoke at the church in Atlanta to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.

"The point is there’s hope. There’s always hope. We have to believe," he said. "Ladies and gentlemen that was Dr. King’s path in my view. The path of keeping the faith. And it must be our path."

During his speech, he recalled a hymn that he said was known to be a favorite of the historic civil rights figure.

"I don’t believe He brought me this far to leave me," he said.
