Especially since 9/11, the executive branch has chronically usurped legislative or judicial power, and has repeatedly claimed that the President is the law. The constitutional grievances against the White House are chilling, reminiscent of the kingly abuses that provoked the Declaration of Independence.

"habeas corpus for alleged alien enemy combatants, i.e., non-citizens who have allegedly participated in active hostilities against the United States"

This means lawyers for illegal combatants and terrorists, giving them the same rights as US Citizens.

And here's the topper:

Amend the Espionage Act to permit journalists to report on classified national security matters without fear of prosecution

In other words anyone that has a secret can publish it with no repurcussions as long as they claim to be a reporter, no matter how gevious the damage to the nation.

My only question is are these people deliberately stupid or monumentally ignorant?

Or are they simply traitors who wish to lay the nation open and powerless to act?
