Man busted after his number found in dead Jersey City shooter's pocket: feds
[NY Post] A New Jersey man was busted by federal authorities after cops found his phone number scrawled on a note in one of the Jersey City shooter's back pockets, authorities said.

Ahmed A-Hady's Monmouth County pawnshop and house were searched over the weekend and feds found him illegally in possession of six rifles, including three AR-15-style assault rifles, three handguns and one shotgun, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito said late Saturday.

Authorities also found hundreds of bullets, including a "large number" of hollow-point rounds, according to the criminal complaint.

The feds tracked down A-Hady, 35, in Keyport Friday evening after finding his phone number on a handwritten note on 47-year-old David Anderson ‐ who opened fire on a Jewish food store Tuesday, killing three, and gunned down a Jersey City cop.

Anderson and his female accomplice Francine Graham were shot dead during an hours-long standoff in the Greenville neighborhood where hundreds of rounds were fired.

On Saturday, the feds seized a van in Orange, N.J., believed to be owned by Anderson.

The FBI is investigating the rampage as a "domestic terror event" after finding a manifesto and social media posts connecting the murderous pair to Jewish hate groups, including the Black Hebrew Israelite movement.
Update from Daily Voice at 12:30 p.m. ET:
A search of the shop owned and operated by ex-con Ahmed A-Hady, 35, of Keyport, turned up three AR-15-style assault rifles, among 13 weapons in all, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito said.

A-Hady (also known as Ed Him) also had a .45 caliber handgun that he wasn’t legally permitted to have, leading to a federal charge of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, Carpenito said following his arrest early Saturday.

A records search showed that A-Hady bought one Smith and Wesson handgun on May 23, 2007 and another 10 days later, the U.S. attorney said.

A-Hady was convicted in 2012 of trying to obtain prescription drugs by fraud, which prohibited him from possessing a firearm, Carpenito said.

A-Hady “admitted to owning both the .45 caliber and the .44 caliber” when investigators interviewed him in his apartment over the pawn shop Friday night, but he “falsely denied that they were on the premises,” he said.

A relative pointed them to a safe in the shop downstairs, where investigators found three handguns, including one of the two that A-Hady bought years earlier, Carpenito said.

In addition to the .44-caliber Smith & Wesson, there was a PK 380 and a Ruger 9mm, records show.

A subsequent search of the pawnshop produced six rifles (including three AR-15-style assault rifles), three handguns, and one shotgun, Carpenito said.

In A-Hady’s upstairs apartment, they found more than 400 rounds of ammunition, including a “large number” of hollow-point bullets, he said.

A-Hady remained in federal custody pending a hearing scheduled for Monday in U.S. District Court in Newark.

Hidden by impeachment: One of Trump's 'best weeks yet'
h/t Instapundit
[Washington Examiner] - While the media and his critics focused on the bitterly divided House impeachment hearings, President Trump this week collected the most agenda wins yet, policy victories, including some backed by Democrats, that bolster arguments he’s making for reelection, according to advisers and analysts.

...Added to the list of accomplishments this week:
An agreement on a new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal.
A new budget including more than $1.3 billion for a border wall and blocks a government shutdown.
House approval of the U.S. Space Force, a brand-new branch of the military.
Government family leave that will be a model for a proposal for the public.
Tentative agreement on trade with China.
Approval of Trump's 50th federal appeals judge.
Confirmation of a new Food and Drug Administration chief.
The signing of a pro-Israel anti-Semitism executive order.

Britain
Britain's divide isn't North v South or red v blue. It's between the ugly intolerant Left and the rest of us
h/t Instapundit
[MailOnline] - There is a troubling new divide running through our country, but it is not the one that people like to imagine. It is best shown by the Election result in affluent Putney, West London, where, in a rare victory, the Labour party gained a seat from the Conservatives.

Putney, like Kensington and Chelsea, is filled with rows of over-priced £1 million homes where residents would have faced huge tax hikes if Labour got into power. Yet the constituency still decided to vote for the socialist experiment that Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell were promising ‐ and in so doing, upended a whole set of presumptions.

On the other hand, a seat like Bolsover, in Derbyshire, did something unheard of. Dennis Skinner had been the sitting Labour MP for nearly half a century, and made it a byword for the hardcore Labour heartlands.

In Bolsover you can buy a nice semi-detached house for about £100,000 ‐ one tenth of Putney’s prices. But it was Putney that went Left and Bolsover Right.

Not that Left and Right are the correct way to describe the extraordinary upheaval of this last week.

The real chasm which has arisen is between a Conservative party that committed itself to fulfilling the will of the people, and two Left-wing parties which had devoted the past three-and-a-half years to subverting it.

AP reports Beltway bureaucrats ‘quitting rather than moving to the U.S. west'
[Twitchy]
Opponents of the Trump administration’s plan to break up the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the country’s public lands bureau are warning of a brain drain, saying many staffers who are being reassigned are opting to quit rather than move out West.

U.S. Interior Secretary David Bernhardt defended the move Friday. Opponents have projected that the number of Bureau of Land Management staffers agreeing to move from headquarters could be as low as 15%, which Bernhardt said was “not consistent with what I’ve seen.”

The deadline for most staffers to notify the land bureau, which is overseen by the Interior Department, whether they intended to move was Thursday. But the bureau had not yet compiled a count for how many staffers had so far agreed to relocate, spokesman Derrick Henry said.

Bernhardt has called for about 300 positions to be switched from Washington to other offices in 11 Western states, including Nevada, Arizona and Utah. About 25 will be going to the new headquarters in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Former bureau employee George Stone, director of the Public Lands Foundation, said the rationale that the move will give Western residents, county commissioners and elected officials better access to federal decision-makers doesn’t make sense because most of the agency’s 10,000 employees are already in field offices outside Washington.

#5  ...most of the agency’s 10,000 employees are already in field offices outside Washington.

It sounds like the proposed transfers are upper management types. While there is no doubt a great deal of institutional knowledge in their heads, clearing them out will allow for promotions from the ranks. If 85% of 300 senior managers quit, and guessing they are paid $200,000/year each on average, that would be a savings of $51 million per year in salaries — plus about the same again in benefits.

Not significant in terms of the total budget for government staffing, but senior staffers have been quitting without replacement since President Trump took the oath of office — remember the horror of all those desks in the State Department sitting empty, week after week?

Myth busted: Campus carry never caused that increase in violence liberals predicted
[Washington Examiner] The argument in favor of arbitrarily revoking the Second Amendment rights of college students, as is done in dozens of states, has ostensibly been rooted in safety concerns.

And it just got a lot weaker.

Two anti-gun professors wrote in the Washington Post that "campus-carry laws will invite tragedies on college campuses, not end them." Another liberal professor, writing for the New York Times, warned that "when there are more guns around, there is more risk – it's as simple as that."

The trouble with such predictions is that they tend to be tested as time goes by. And as it turns out, they simply weren't true. Students just aren't waging the gun battles that anti-gun activists expected. A new report from the College Fix looked into this narrative, and it came up empty.
Take that, Dem candidates!

Government
Who Apologizes to Carter Page?
[The Hill] After he was acquitted in a major fraud trial, former Labor Secretary Ray Donovan asked, "Which office do I go to to get my reputation back?" The trial was ruinous for Donovan, personally and financially, and the question was a fair one. Donovan, however, at least received a trial. Former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page has never been given a fair hearing, let alone a trial, to clear his name. As the two political parties spin the results of a report by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz, one matter remains unaddressed. Someone needs to apologize to Page.
'Reader's Digest' version reproduced below. RTWT.
Early on, Horowitz found that an unnamed government agency, widely acknowledged to be the CIA, told the FBI that it was making a mistake about Page and that he was working for the agency as an "operational contact" in Moscow. Indeed, he was working as an asset for the CIA for years.

While it took long, someone at the Justice Department finally decided to act on the FISA matter regarding Page. The official in charge of FISA applications, Kevin Clinesmith, was told to ask the CIA again about whether Page had been working for the agency. He was again told that Page in fact was, yet Clinesmith allegedly changed the CIA response to describe Page as not working for it. He is now being criminally referred by Horowitz for falsifying that information.
No deep state, no witch hunt. Uh-huh.
Natasha Bertand later wondered why anyone would question the case against Page. After all, she wrote, Senator Mark Warner, who is ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, had warned reporters to "be careful what you wish for" and one of his aides told her that is is "simply impossible to review the documents" on Page and conclude anything other than that the FBI "had ample reason" to investigate him. Her article was published long after the FBI had been told that Page was working with the CIA, but many other stories ran with similar comments from senators suggesting that anyone defending Page would be ridiculed after the release of some damning evidence. Mueller and Horowitz have now confirmed that there was never such evidence showing Page was a Russian asset. Indeed, the evidence showed he was an American asset.
Media complicit? Don't be silly!
All I know is that he is an American citizen put under a secret surveillance operation based on a dossier shown to be both unfounded and unreliable. He then remained under surveillance with three renewals of secret warrants, even though the FBI was told repeatedly that Page was working with the CIA and that the dossier used to obtain those warrants was considered unsupported. Finally, Page was the subject of an alleged falsification of a document presented to the FISA court to obscure that exculpatory information.
Collateral damage. Can't make an omelet...
At what point does someone apologize to Page? He is, in fact, the victim of this criminal referral. He is the victim of what Horowitz describes as a "misleading" basis presented to the FISA court. He is a victim of media "groupthink" that portrayed him as the sinister link proving collusion with Russia, an allegation rejected by the FBI, by the inspector general, and by the special counsel. Of course, Washington does not work this way. Page served his purpose and the trashing of his reputation was a cost of doing business with the federal government for many members of Congress and the media. In recalling the question by Donovan, there is no such office. Page is simply supposed to disappear and leave his reputation behind.

Jonathan Turley is the chair of public interest law at George Washington University and served as the last lead counsel in a Senate impeachment trial. He testified as a Republican witness in House Judiciary Committee hearing in the Trump impeachment inquiry.

Carter Page the "Victim" or unindicted co-conspirator? You decide.

#1  Indeed, he was working as an asset for the CIA for years. While it was falsely reported that Page met with three suspicious individuals there, he had no contact with two of those individuals. More importantly, Page did the right thing and told American officials about being contacted by the third person, because he felt they should know.
Emphasis added.

Of course he did "the right thing." That was his JOB! Retention of a security clearance demands this type of reporting. How does one pass a poly withholding foreign contact information ?

Someone, please tell me, how do these things happen? Oh WAIT !

5.9 Million Fewer Food Stamp Recipients Since 2017
[Breitbart] More than 5.9 million individuals dropped off food stamps since President Donald Trump assumed office in February 2017, according to the latest data released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The most up-to-date USDA data shows that 5,975,736 people discontinued using food stamps, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), between February 2017‐ when Trump completed his first full month in office‐ and September 2019.

Individual and household participation in SNAP had consistently declined overall since 2013, when the Obama administration was in power, and enrollment in the program reached its highest point in U.S. history.

At the Great Recession’s peak during former President Barack Obama’s first term in office, enrollment in SNAP grew by 135 percent and cost taxpayers $78 billion.
Trump can't take all the credit, however -
Food stamp enrollment plummeted after state legislatures passed work requirement reform measures to curb dependency on welfare, requiring food stamp recipients to work, volunteer, attend school, or receive job training for 20 hours per week.
Well, maybe Trump deserves more credit -
Enrollment has continued to decline under Trump, but the Trump administration has taken welfare reform measures a step further by taking work requirement legislation found in the states nationwide.

[Daily Caller] The Department of Justice is withholding documents about the Imran Awan cybersecurity scandal by saying there is an ongoing, secret case related to matter, according to court papers.

Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit Nov. 7, 2018, for 7,000 pages of Capitol Police records related to the cybersecurity investigation, and Aug. 2, the DOJ agreed to begin producing records by Nov. 5.

That deadline came and went with no records being produced; on a Nov. 13 phone call, the DOJ said "technical difficulties" had resulted in a delay, Judicial Watch stated in a court filing.

The DOJ later changed its story and said it was actually withholding documents "pursuant to an Order issued by the Honorable Tanya S. Chutkan who is presiding over a related sealed criminal matter," prosecutors said in a Dec. 5 filing.

"The ’difficulties’ in providing responsive material was [sic] due to the unexpected and unique set of facts described above that was out of control of the Defendant. Defendant’s only motivation was to maintain the integrity of the sealed matter as much as possible," assistant U.S. Attorney Benton Peterson said in the filing.

CNN in panic: The Supreme Court just jumped into the political deep end with Trump taxes lawsuit
Washington (CNN) On the same day that a Democratic-led US House committee voted for articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, the Supreme Court made its own momentous decision to intervene in Trump's effort to keep his tax returns and other financial records secret.

The justices agreed to resolve in spring 2020 if a sitting president should be immune from any criminal proceeding, whether related to conduct before taking office or even -- to use Trump's famed example -- shooting someone on Fifth Avenue in New York. The high court also said it would determine the oversight authority of Congress in paired disputes arising from attempts by House Democrats to obtain Trump's financial documents.

The eventual decisions would help define the high court in the Trump era, especially as Chief Justice John Roberts has tried to carefully navigate Trump-related litigation and regularly declares that the justices are above politics.

Roberts, who was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2005, has tried to shield the judiciary from the polarization in Washington, stepping up his efforts after the contentious confirmations of Trump appointees Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. Last year, Roberts admonished Trump and said judges should not be labeled as "Obama judges" or "Trump judges," but rather as neutral decision-makers.

#6  Assuming the House actually does pass those articles of impeachment, and the Senate must sit the trial within 24 or 48 hours — something like that — then sit all day, six days a week until it’s done, can they then postpone the vote on innocence or guilt until the Supreme Court returns their verdict? It seems especially mean to me to make all the presidential candidate senators come off the campaign trail until the trial is over, then keep them on tenterhooks until they’re called back for the final vote sometime in June, the result of which will steal all the oxygen from the room.

#11  Agreed, European Conservative. Applying Democratic rules is how Senator Mitch McConnell is getting so many judges approved without Democratic involvement. The only way to get them to stop playing games is to apply their own rules against them — in this case the Democrats are posturing in front of the cameras instead of voting to impeach the president. Once that vote is taken, then the president’s people will comply.

How to Lower Your Biological Age
[Rogue Health and Fitness] As we know, all people do not age at the same rate, some aging markedly slower, and some faster, seemingly following a normal distribution.

If you want to stay healthy and free of chronic disease, as well as live a long lifespan by fighting aging, you’d be well-advised to be on the left side of the curve. How can we do that?

An interesting new study by a team that includes the maverick scientist Lee Hood determined the biological markers most associated with lower or higher biological age. (ref)

The study looked at medical records of over 3500 people, and assessed biological age via a computer algorithm, the Klemera‐Doubal algorithm. They looked at with biomarkers were associated with younger or older biological, as opposed to chronological, age.

There weren’t a lot of surprises here ‐ though there were a few, which I’ll mention.

Former top Ukrianian Burisma executive Hunter Biden faces deposition in paternity suit
[NY Post] Hunter Biden faces a legal grilling by lawyers for the ex-stripper suing him for paternity ‐ with the money he was paid by a Ukrainian natural gas company a likely subject, court records show.

Biden is set to be deposed two days before Christmas in Little Rock, Arkansas, according to a notice filed Wednesday in Independence County Circuit Court.

Lawyers for Lunden Alexis Roberts instructed him to bring "all exhibits" he plans to use in his defense when shows up Dec. 23.

A related court filing lists 47 "requests for admission" of evidence related to Biden’s education, employment, finances and taxes.

Many are heavily redacted, but 17 refer to his controversial appointment to the board of Burisma, the Ukrainian energy firm that figures in the pending impeachment proceedings against President Trump.

Nine specifically seek the amount of his "monthly compensation as a board member for Burisma."

Biden ‐ son of former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic front-runner to challenge Trump next year ‐ was reportedly paid $50,000 a month by Burisma.

In an October interview with ABC News, Biden declined to discuss his finances.

"Look, I’m a private citizen," he said.

"One thing that I don’t have to do is sit here and open my kimono as it relates to how much money I make or make or did or didn’t. But it’s all been reported."

Biden’s lawyers didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

Leaked documents from the Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s office indicate complex money transfers from foreign sources into the control of a ‘slush fund’ owned and operated by Devon Archer, John Kerry Senior, John Kerry Junior, Heinz Jr, and Hunter Biden,” he said.

“According to the Department of Financial Monitoring (Counter-intelligence) of Latvia, the following sums of money were obtained from Busima Holding Limited (Cyprus) which is open at AS PrivatBank in Latvia. “This describes the money transfer of $14,655,982 and $366,015 EUR from “Wirelogic Technology AS”, and $1,964,375 from “Digitex Organization LLP”.

“Further, part of the sums described above were transferred to Alan Apter, Alexander Kwasniewski, Devon Archer and Hunter Biden.

“BURISMA HOLDINGS LIMITED, during a period from November 18th 2014 to November 16th 2015 transacted 45 money transfers through MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY LLC in the sum of $3.5M dollars. “The recipient of the money transfer is Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC.

“Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC is owned and operated by Devon Archer, the Kerry Family including John Kerry Senior, John Kerry Junior, Heinz Jr and Hunter Biden. “All of whom are also listed as partners in the Rosemont Seneca Fund and other affiliated Rosemont Seneca companies.

“Leaked transaction and bank records indicate an influx of large payments from Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings Limited to Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, in what appears to be monthly payments of $83,333.33.

Crazy Liberal Charged After Threatening to Kill GOP Congressman
[The Federalist] A crazy liberal called the congressional office of Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL) a few weeks ago and threatened to kill the GOP representative, court documents reveal.

The caller left a voicemail for the congressman identifying himself only as a "sharpshooter" who would "like to shoot your f****** head off you stupid mother******."

The nameless caller accused Rep. Davis of "backing the Russians." Surely, Hillary Clinton was the prime suspect until Capitol Police were able to trace the call back to 64-year-old Randall Tarr of Illinois.

Tarr told FBI agents that he called the Republican congressman after watching a TV commercial about Rep. Davis that made him very, very angry. Tarr denied being under the influence of drugs and alcohol when he made the call, but it is likely the man was under the influence of either CNN or MSNBC.

Democrats and the media have made their crazy base even crazier by constantly feeding them conspiracy theories about Trump and Russia collusion. So strong was the man's Russia Collusion Delusion that he threatened to kill a United States congressman after seeing a commercial where Rep. Davis brought up the fact that Ukraine interfered in our elections, which, to be fair, would have taken any mainstream media viewer by complete surprise.

Luckily, the GOP baseball team wasn't holding any practices in Illinois that day so this crazy leftist could only leave a harmless voicemail.

The Hallmark Channel pulled 4 TV ads featuring a lesbian couple kissing after a petition by the conservative group One Million Moms
[The Hill] The Hallmark Channel pulled four TV ads that featured a lesbian couple getting married and kissing after a petition by a conservative group received thousands of signatures.

The ads, which first aired on the channel on Dec. 2, are for wedding planning website Zola. The four ads that were pulled were part of a larger six-ad series, The New York Times reported.

Earlier this week, One Million Moms, a branch of the American Family Association, posted a petition about the ads, saying, "The Hallmark Channel has always been known for its family friendly movies. Even its commercials are usually safe for family viewing. But unfortunately, that is not the case anymore."

The petition received nearly 26,000 signatures, and on Thursday, Zola was notified by Hallmark that four of its ads would be removed.

When an ad buyer representing Zola asked the channel for an explanation, Hallmark in an email replied, "We are not allowed to accept creatives that are deemed controversial."

'Tell us what you found': Lindsey Graham invites Giuliani to testify about Ukraine trip in Senate
[Washington Examiner] Sen. Lindsey Graham welcomed the notion that President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani could appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to share his knowledge on Ukraine.

"Rudy, if you want to come and tell us what you found, I'll be glad to talk to you," the South Carolina Republican said in an interview set to air Sunday on CBS's Face the Nation.

"We can look at what Rudy's got and Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and anything else you want to look at after impeachment," he continued. "But if Rudy wants to come to the Judiciary Committee and testify about what he found, he's welcome to do so."

Giuliani recently confirmed that he was on a fact-finding mission in Ukraine to track down information that could prove the Democrats' impeachment efforts to be unsubstantiated. Trump has also claimed that Giuliani may have credible information. According to him, Trump has asked him to brief both the Department of Justice and Republican senators about his findings.

Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is set to speak more his invitation to Giuliani on Sunday.

Sharyl Attkinson - AG Barr gets the word out on the Deep State
[Epoch Times] In each of two video appearances, on NBC News and at Wall Street Journal’s "CEO Council," Attorney General William Barr provided the same basic information and views about the U.S. intelligence community’s actions against the Trump campaign in 2016 and 2017. A criminal investigation is underway and being led by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

Barr was motivated to make the public statements, he said, by the misreporting and confusion surrounding Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report issued on Dec. 9. It found serious government surveillance abuses but no evidence of political bias on the part of the offending FBI officials and agents.

Below are 24 points Barr felt the need to make after the release of the Horowitz report. (All of the information is attributed to Barr.)

Attkinson's 24 points and video at the link.

In his interviews this week, Barr provided a treasure trove of information about what stands to be one of the most important investigations into our U.S. intelligence community of our time. His signposts indicate that we can expect a shakeup of a system that may have been broken for decades.

The Next Nuclear Plants Will Be Small, Svelte, and Safer
Wired via Instapundit
For the last 20 years, the future of nuclear power has stood in a high bay laboratory tucked away on the Oregon State University campus in the western part of the state. Operated by NuScale Power, an Oregon-based energy startup, this prototype reactor represents a new chapter in the conflict-ridden, politically bedeviled saga of nuclear power plants.

NuScale’s reactor won’t need massive cooling towers or sprawling emergency zones. It can be built in a factory and shipped to any location, no matter how remote. Extensive simulations suggest it can handle almost any emergency without a meltdown. One reason is that it barely uses any nuclear fuel, at least compared with existing reactors. It’s also a fraction of the size of its predecessors.

This is good news for a planet in the grips of a climate crisis. Nuclear energy gets a bad rap in some environmentalist circles, but many energy experts and policymakers agree that splitting atoms is going to be an indispensable part of decarbonizing the world’s electricity. In the US, nuclear power accounts for about two-thirds of all clean electricity, but the existing reactors are rapidly approaching the end of their regulatory lifetimes. Only two new reactors are under construction in the US, but they’re billions of dollars over budget and years behind schedule.

Enter the small modular reactor, designed to allow several reactors to be combined into one unit. Need a modest amount of energy? Install just a few modules. Want to fuel a sprawling city? Tack on several more. Coming up with a suitable power plant for a wide range of situations becomes that much easier. Because they are small, these reactors can be mass-produced and shipped to any location in a handful of pieces. Perhaps most importantly, small modular reactors can take advantage of several cooling and safety mechanisms unavailable to their big brothers, which all but guarantees they won’t become the next Chernobyl.
Now, all that remains is to find a name for them that yields the acronym GRETA.

#8  The Brits have some pretty small reactors (Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor or 'AGR'), and produce about 550-mW each.

These NuScale units (60-mW output each) make the AGR's look gargantuan, even if you needed the nine units to equal the same power output.

The idea is that you wouldn't. These can be placed firly close to a population center, thereby reducing the 'infrastructure' costs and vastly increasing power delivery losses.

And NuScale isn't the only one developing these smaller power systems.

Britain
UK Labour No. 2 says he’ll quit, as many MPs blame Corbyn for election bloodbath
[IsraelTimes] The deputy leader of UK’s Labour Party said Saturday he will step down once a new party chief is chosen, as an internal backlash against Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn intensified following the party’s dire showing in Thursday’s general election.

And war appeared to be brewing between Corbyn’s hard-left faction in the party, which hopes to retain power in the wake of his departure, and moderates who had been sidelined in recent years, and who believe Labour must change direction if it hopes to once again appeal to a majority of British voters.

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, a top ally of Corbyn and his de facto No. 2, said that once the Labour chief steps down and a new leader and shadow cabinet are appointed, "I won’t be part of that shadow cabinet, I’ve done my bit."

Commenting on his party’s drubbing in the vote, McDonnell said: "We tried to bring the country together. It failed. We have to accept that, take it on the chin. We have to own that and then move on. We will all go now."
But if they drive away the half a million hard left new Labourites who put Mr. Corbyn in the top spot, they’ll be right back in the pickle that led them to opening up membership to begin with. It’s enough to make the Stone of Scone weep pebbly tears of laughter.
The defeat was seen as a result of Labour’s hesitant stance on Britain’s exit from the European Union, radical economic proposals seen as unrealistic, and Corbyn’s unpopular personality — with widespread accusations against him of empowering anti-Semitism within Labour and of himself being anti-Semitic and sympathizing with terrorists.

A survey on election day among voters who said they were not backing Labour found 43% cited the party leadership as the prime reason, followed by its Brexit stance (17%) and its economic policies (12%).

Turkey adds exiled Palestinian strongman Dahlan to most wanted list

More Than 2.5K Dead People Are Registered to Vote in Detroit
[BREITBART] More than 2,500 dead Americans remain on the voter rolls in bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit
... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang...
, Michigan, according to a federal lawsuit filed this week.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed a lawsuit in federal court this week against the city of Detroit for allegedly failing to maintain their voter rolls, including keeping more than 2,500 dead Americans aged 85 and older on the rolls.

After obtaining voter data from the state of Michigan earlier this year, PILF researchers said they discovered that a number of registered voters had either "impossibly old" or "disqualifying young" date of births. In one case, for example, PILF researchers said they found that a registered voter stated they had been born in the year 1823.

In addition to dead voters remaining on the voter rolls, PILF alleges that Detroit’s voter registration rate as of 2016 for the citizen voting-age population stands at 106 percent ‐ indicating more voters on the rolls than those who even live in the city.

#3  Detroit, like a lot of places, does not clean up their voter registration rolls very often. People die, people move out, and they stay registered. The only problem is if those people vote, and we don't know how often that happens.

#5  we don't know how often that happens.

No, though we do know that it does happen. There are also other ways to cheat — a person voting in two states, people voting as ordered (Mr. Wife’s father told him that as long as he lived in Lackawanna, NY he would vote, and would vote Democrat, or there would be repercussions for various relatives working for the city), people voting others’ ballots by mail or in person by a variety of methods, voting machines only accepting certain votes for whatever reason...

Cleaning up the voter rolls of dead, moved, multiply registered, and imaginary voters is the easiest way to start getting a handle on a problem that, given human nature, is only partly soluble.

Snopes, with all its problems, does its best to address a report from 2017 in the National Review that there are over 3.5 million more voter registrations than adult citizens in the 38 states that they looked at. That number compares to the 2.9 popular votes that Hillary Clinton had more than Donald Trump in 2016, 4.3 million of them from California. It would be interesting to know how many of those votes were not legitimate
Posted by: trailing wife || 12/15/2019 14:14 Comments || Top||

#6  Or you could flush *all* the voter rolls and simply require everyone to re-register, in person, with picture proof of citizenship. And require re-registration every 4 years.

Antifa Leftists Riot in London Following Massive Election Loss
[THECONSERVATIVETREEHOUSE] Following a major election victory for conservatives in the U.K. the Antifa

-left start rioting in the streets again. Proving once more that socialists do not accept election outcomes.

The vitriolic response from the British socialists resembles an almost identical response following the 2016 election victory of President Trump. Same groups, same political ideology, same behavior, same violence, rage and expressed anger.

The inability of the progressive left to accept the outcome of an election is identical in both the U.K and the U.S. Calling Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
a racist and attempting to delegitimize the election outcome has a ring of familiarity for Americans.

The decades of their united globalist efforts to tear at the very fabric of nationalism is being eliminated. The radical socialists have nothing to lose; the media is sympathetic to their objectives; their desperate need for a collectivist society is visible within their apoplexy. They are afraid of the individual accountability that comes with freedom, and they’re damn sure displaying it.

GOP Sen. Hawley: The FBI Interfered in the 2016 Election
[BREITBART] Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) on Thursday appeared on "Fox & Friends" and reacted to the Department of Justice’s inspector general report by Michael Horowitz.

Hawley argued the findings show the FBI interfered in the 2016 presidential election, adding Horowitz’s report is "really damning" for the FBI.

"What’s worse: is it worse to have a foreign government trying to interfere in our election or is it worse to have our own government? Because that’s what the FBI did," Hawley advised. "Essentially, the Democrat Party bought themselves an FBI investigation. The Democrats went out and paid for this fake dossier, they fed it to the FBI and the FBI used it to get surveillance of the Trump campaign during a presidential election. This has never happened before in American history."

"The Horowitz report, the IG report is really damning. It shows that the FBI bought this hook, line and sinker. There needs to be some big league reforms there," he added.

He continued, "The facts are this: the Democrat committee paid for a fake dossier, fed it to the FBI and the FBI used it to interfere in an ongoing presidential campaign. It’s unbelievable. It can never happen again, we have to make sure of that."

Safecrackers stole millions in Florida. Here’s how they were caught
[TAMPABAY] By the time they arrived in Hernando County, the burglars had refined their methods.

Michael Ornelas, 56, was a locksmith and expert safe cracker, Sherlocks would later say, while William Granims, 57, knew how to monitor police radios, and Matthew Petruccelli, 67, served as lookout.

Ornelas and Granims had worked together a long time. In the late 1990s, they stole more than a million dollars of jewelry and money from stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia.

Arms smuggled from Afghanistan seized

Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistain's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire...
, has seized a huge cache of arms smuggled from Afghanistan.

Official sources told Dawn that during inspection at Torkham customs station of an empty truck coming from Afghanistan it was suspected to have some secret cavities. A thorough search led to the recovery of over 200 sophisticated guns of different specifications and magazines.

The weapons have been seized and a case under the Customs Act, 1969 is being registered and further investigations are under way. Although the smugglers managed to flee, a passport apparently belonging to the driver had been found from the dashboard of the truck.

The sources said the recovered guns included Tomahawk, Maverick, KRAL (A-12) and Zirve.

An official said the counterterrorism department would also be taken on board so that it could hold a probe with its own angle. He said such a sophisticated way of concealment indicated that some organised racket might be behind it.

Europe
When Terrorists Stay Home: The Evolving Threat to Europe from Frustrated Travelers
For leisurely Sunday reading.
[CTC.USMA] Abstract: For several years, ‘frustrated travelers’ unable to make it to Syria have responded with plots targeting the countries in which they reside. In Europe, most individuals attempted to travel between 2014 and 2016, when the Islamic State was at the peak of its power. Thwarted in these attempts, frustrated travelers sometimes launched rapid, unsophisticated attacks, rather than meticulously planned ones, in order to contribute to the Islamic State’s cause from their country of residence. In total, the 25 frustrated traveler plots that were set in motion in Europe between January 2014 and June 2019 resulted in eight attacks and led to 18 injuries and seven deaths. These plots involved a disproportionate number of females and minors, and more often than not, perpetrators were in contact with the Islamic State.

#1  The interesting thing is that the last time the plague came to Europe their knowledge of fleas, rats, and humans, let along disease pathologies, lacked an awareness that gave them so much grief and death. Today, its not a lack of awareness as much plain outright incompetence of the ruling class which is more interested in virtue flashing their own group and then security and safety of their populations. None the less, grief and death is what they get.

Greta Thunberg Says We Will ‘Put World Leaders Against the Wall’
[BREITBART] Time’s "Scold of the Year," Greta "Pippi" Thunberg
...an autistic sixteen year old Swedish expert on climate change...
, told a crowd in Italia that "we will make sure we put world leaders against the wall" if they do not do what she tells them to do.

On her way home, the 16-year-old Swedish eco-activist and chronic truant stopped to address a Fridays for Future gathering in Turin, Italia, at which she went the full-Fidel Castro.

"Unfortunately, we probably already know the outcome. World leaders are still trying to run away from their responsibilities but we have to make sure they cannot do that. We will make sure that we put them against the wall and they will have to do their job to protect our futures," she said, according to the Daily Mail.

"Against the wall" is fairly common jargon in revolutions, especially youthful revolutions, and the accepted translation means executions ‐ lots and lots of executions, specifically firing squads, where the old leaders are permanently removed by fresh-faced revolutionaries.

#10  What I want to know is whose lips are moving when she speaks ?

Most interesting question, Mercutio. My first guess would be she and her family are just winging it from the beginning. But that momentum would have fizzled out by now.

The second possibility ? One may find on scrutiny that some professional psychiatrists, and insane academics backed by certain foundations introduced the concept of 'channeling trauma into tantrum' to a fragile mind. Seeing the activism potential in her OCD and encouraging her anger issues. She cannot have encountered the level of earth-killing pollution or climate antics in her corner of the globe. Someone made her watch videos, see pictures and insidiously suggested the imperative of 'saving the earth' to her for years. They made sure to be there with the camera when she threw her first tantrum at the 'climate emergency'. It probably won local attention, and on social media. And a pocket rocket for the liberal, disobedience generation, an icon of activism was born.

The end here is not to have another wide-eyed environmentalist tree-hugger. That is part of the means. The end is to sow the seeds of activism in the youngest subjects, recruit from very early on. Catch 'em young, so to speak.

'No to education, till our demands are met !'

There's much history behind this view.

In China, and before that the USSR, military psychologists identified easily suggestible subjects with borderline compulsive issues. The study of OCD had not been completed yet, but the commies treated it as a 'trait', useful in some occupations. They put them to jobs in propaganda and internal vigilance for the commies. The common factor was the obsessive, savant streak they brought to their tasks. You didn't have to oversee the subject, he/she did the job spectacularly well and with a fervor greater than faith. All you had to do was implant the absolute necessity in the young mind to convince crowds, or catch probable dissidents. The OCD you created would do the rest.

I know this because I studied the process. I wrote a paper on how to use it on weak-brained muslims to implode their revolutionary schools from within. Another of my greatest hits, naturally it was thrown in the bin.

Hitler Jugend

As German casualties escalated with the combination of Operation Bagration and the Lvov-Sandomierz Operation in the east, and Operation Cobra in the west, members of the Hitlerjugend were recruited at ever younger ages. By 1945, the Volkssturm was commonly drafting 12-year-old Hitler Youth members into its ranks. During the Battle of Berlin, Axmann's Hitler Youth formed a major part of the last line of German defense, and were reportedly among the fiercest fighters. Although the city commander, General Helmuth Weidling, ordered Axmann to disband the Hitler Youth combat formations, in the confusion this order was never carried out. The remnants of the youth brigade took heavy casualties from the advancing Russian forces; only two survived. - wiki

No, she isn't. OK, as an individual, she is a kid. But as the spokesdroid for a movemnt, she is a stalking horse for some people with bad intentions.

While this may be a quaint expression in Swedish, in terms of political movements it has a definite and different meaning altogether. In the US, re-education means teaching laid-off factory workers new skills. For the Chinese Red Guards, many in their teens, re-education meant something quite different.

#29  Of course you all had an impeccable command of a foreign language at 16.

Sorry if I was unclear. It's not about language skills. It is about using a child as a spokesperson to give your movement deniability. "We want to save the planet" - Listen to Greta. She speaks with the moral authority and innocence of a child. "We want to shut down the global economy and if you don't give in, we'll threaten violence" - Greta is just a child, you know she isn't serious. It's quite a clever ploy, really.

We saw basically the same move with late-night comedians during the BushHitler era, particularly with John Stewart. It came to be known as "Clown nose on/Clown nose off". I'm a serious political commentator/hey, I'm just a comedian.

Over the years, I've watched this rotten nonsense go from some bad science to Global Warming to Climate Change to Climate Emergency. At first it was a way to fish for grant money, then a political power grab. Now it's global hysteria. The fact that the craziness is based on some corrupt data and bad computer models has been lost in the noise and shouting. I'm getting tired of it.

#31  SteveS

It is about using a child as a spokesperson to give your movement deniability.

That's what I have been saying all the time. Don't attack the kid, attack the (adult) abusers.

All I can say is this: If someone had given me the opportunity to voice my opinions worldwide when I was 16, with a speech at the UN and all that, hell I would have been delighted.

A few years later I'd have been quite embarrassed by what I would probably have said.

Greta certainly believes what she says. That makes her "authentic". Her "fanatism", or may I rather say her obsession with one single issue is certainly conditioned by her Asperger syndrome. This is what made her sit for a year in front of the Swedish Parliament, and this is what made her go on that absurd Atlantic crossing by boat (never mind that other people had to FLY to the U.S. because of her).

She will soon fade away.

I'm afraid the advice wouldn't be very friendly. From what I have learned about Greta's youth her parents failed miserably. And I guess now there is lots of money to be made with a child who actually needs professional help, not a forum at the United Nations.

Judge orders 234,000 purged from Wisconsin voter rolls
[MSN] An Wisconsin judge on Friday ordered the state to remove hundreds of thousands of people from Wisconsin's voter rolls because they may have moved.

The case is being closely watched because of the state's critical role in next year's presidential race. Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy also denied the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin's petition to intervene.

Lawyers for the League and for the Wisconsin Elections Commission indicated they will appeal and asked Malloy to stay his ruling pending those appeals, but he declined.

At issue is a letter the state Elections Commission sent in October to about 234,000 voters who it believes may have moved. The letter asked the voters to update their voter registrations if they had moved or alert election officials if they were still at their same address.

The commission planned to remove the letter's recipients from the voter rolls in 2021 if it hadn't heard from them. But Malloy's decision would kick them off the rolls much sooner, and well before the 2020 presidential election.

Afghanistan
Nine Afghan forces killed in Taliban insider attack
[DAWN] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
have killed nine Afghan soldiers in an insider attack in central Afghanistan, the military said on Saturday, underscoring the dangers Afghan forces face from within their own ranks.

The Afghan National Army troops "were martyred by Taliban faceless myrmidons in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province" on Friday night, the Afghan defence ministry said on Twitter.

Defence ministry front man Fawad Aman later told AFP the troops had been killed by Taliban infiltrators.

Such attacks, sometimes referred to as "green on green," are a constant threat in the war-torn country for international and Afghan forces alike.

Aman denied a report
No, no! Certainly not!
from a member of Ghazni's provincial council that 23 Afghan cops had been killed.

The Taliban, meanwhile, claimed they had overrun an "enemy base" in the Qarabagh district of Ghazni province and killed dozens of security forces.

Friday's attack underscores the ongoing dangers Afghan and allied forces face from Taliban fighters pretending to be loyal to the government.
Al Ahram clarifies:
At least one member of an Afghan militia opened fire on his fellow militiamen early Saturday, killing nine, in what the country's interior ministry called an insider attack.

The Taliban however claimed the attack was actually a coordinated insurgent assault on the checkpoint where the shooting took place, killing over two dozen militiamen, according to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancy, but the Taliban often exaggerate their claims.

Adam Schiff to Colbert: How Will ‘Shameful’ Republicans Explain Defending Trump to Their Grandchildren
[BREITBART] Kinda hard to explain, kiddies.

Y'see, Joe Biden -- you remember him? Pervy old guy who liked grabbing ladies' boobies and such, plagiarized a Neil Kinnock speech? He ran for president, back in '19?

Well, he had a boy. In his thirties, maybe even in his forties, but still just a lad. And there was a Ukrainian gas company called Burisma, that bought politicians by the dozen; they paid good prices that were drops in the bucket to what they made through the contracts that came their way. Well, they couldn't outright purchase Joe. All they had to do was put him with a few barely nubile babes an he was happy enough.

You follow so far?

Good. Joe had a kid named Hunter. He was a ne'er do well. tossed from the Navy for coke, knocked up some stripper he met at a gents' club in DC.

Simple, huh? I mean, a seedier pair you can't imagine. Joe even bragged he'd had a prosecutor investigating Burisma canned, or no aid.

So Trump asked Ukraine's new president -- kinda president to president, y'know -- to look into the matter.

He was impeached.

If you think that's something, in the Teapot Dome Scandal, Secretary Fall went to prison for the bribe Albert B. Fall was acquitted of paying.

This has highly strengthened the Republican party and President Trump.

No worries, Varmint Splat1454. When the grandchildren are running things, all they need do is repudiate all the promises made regarding Social Security and Medicare to the old folks, and suddenly the debts won’t be nearly as insurmountable as they currently are projected.

This is one of the reasons why I haven’t planned on being able to collect when the time comes, independent of being six months short of having worked enough time to collect as other than Mr, Wife’s widow.

According to a criminal complaint, filed in federal court, Hassan Alqahtani, 28, was arrested after the FBI received a tip that Alqahtani had a "list of people who he wants to kill before he leaves the U.S."

The complaint says the list includes professors from UNM.

The FBI searched Alqahtani’s residence and reportedly found a .380 firearm and ammunition.

Alqahtani’s girlfriend claimed the firearms was hers, according to the complaint.

However,

the FBI believes she was possibly conspiring with Alqahtani to conceal his possession of the firearm.

It was not immediately clear whether Alqahtani's girlfriend was also facing charges.

According to the Department of Justice, Alqahtani was in the country legally on a student visa.

He has a detention hearing on Dec. 16, and faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

U.S. Sanctions 3 Individuals, Several Firms Allegedly Linked to Hizbullah
[AnNahar] The U.S. Department of the Treasury on Friday slapped sanctions against three individuals and several firms allegedly linked to Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
In a statement, the Treasury identified the individuals as Nazem Said Ahmad, Saleh Assi and Tony Saab.

It described Ahmed and Assi as "two prominent Leb and the Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
(DRC)-based money launderers," adding that they have affiliated companies some of which have "generated tens of millions of dollars for Hizbullah, its financiers, and their malign activities."

"Hizbullah continues to use seemingly legitimate businesses as front companies to raise and launder funds in countries like the DRC where it can use bribery and political connections to secure unfair market access and evade taxes," said Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin. "This Administration will continue to take action against Hizbullah financiers like Nazem Said Ahmad and Saleh Assi, who have used money laundering and tax evasion schemes to fund terrorist plots and finance their own lavish lifestyles as the Lebanese people suffer," Mnuchin added.

"Art and luxury goods dealers should be on alert to the schemes of money launderers who hide personal funds in high-value assets in an attempt to mitigate the effects of U.S. sanctions," said Deputy Secretary Justin G. Muzinich.

Describing Nazem Said Ahmad as one of Hizbullah’s "top donors," the statement said the man possesses "an extensive art collection worth tens of millions of dollars, including works by Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, many of which have been on display in his gallery and penthouse in Beirut."

He generates funds through his "longstanding ties to the ’blood diamond’ trade," the statement added, noting that Saleh Assi has "laundered money through Ahmad’s diamond businesses."

The U.S. Treasury also slapped sanctions on Leb-based accountant Tony Saab, saying he "provided support to Assi."

"Saab has materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of Assi," the statement said.

"As an employee of Assi’s company Inter Aliment, Saab was involved in facilitating the transfer of millions of dollars for Inter Aliment and Minocongo and provided documentation of such transfers to Assi. Saab was also involved in facilitating Assi’s payments to (alleged Hizbullah financier Adham Hussein) Tabaja," the statement added.

"Chuck Schumer sat for years during the Obama Administration and watched as China ripped off the United States," Trump tweeted Saturday. "Now, without even seeing it, he snipes at our GREAT new deal with China. Too bad Cryin’ Chuck!"

The partial trade agreement, announced Friday, canceled a new set of tariffs set to take effect this weekend, and scaled back tariffs that remain in place. In exchange, China agreed to buy more US farm products and remove some of its retaliatory tariffs on American goods.

Schumer dismissed the plan as a "temporary and unreliable promise" in a Friday statement.

"We’ve heard this song & dance from China before," he tweeted.

VA Dems Threaten to Call out the NG over Gun Control
via Bongino Report
[WashingtonExaminer] Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill say local police who do not enforce gun control measures likely to pass in Virginia should face prosecution and even threats of the National Guard.
Didn't take long for the mask to come off
After November's Virginia Legislature elections that led to Democrats taking control of both chambers, the gun control legislation proposed by some Democrats moved forward, including universal background checks, an "assault weapons" ban, and a red flag law.

Legal firearm owners in the state, however, joined with their sheriffs to form Second Amendment sanctuary counties, which declare the authorities in these municipalities uphold the Second Amendment in the face of any gun control measure passed by Richmond.

Over 75 counties in Virginia have so far adopted such Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions in the commonwealth, the latest being Spotsylvania County. The board of supervisors voted unanimously to approve a resolution declaring that county police will not enforce state-level gun laws that violate Second Amendment rights.

Virginia Democratic officials, however, already say local law enforcement supporting these resolutions will face consequences if they do not carry out any law the state Legislature passes.

"I would hope they either resign in good conscience, because they cannot uphold the law which they are sworn to uphold, or they're prosecuted for failure to fulfill their oath," Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly told the Washington Examiner of local county police who may refuse to enforce future gun control measures. "The law is the law. If that becomes the law, you don't have a choice, not if you're a sworn officer of the law."
Unless of course you're ignoring Federal immigration laws

#4  ...Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

(inhales)

...HahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahNO.

The legislators who are threatening this have proved once and for all that they've never read a single damned law, or for that matter, the Constitution.

1)The Guard can be used to keep the peace (get things settled down after a riot or natural disaster, for instance), NOT to enforce the law - see also the Posse Comitatus Act. The VA Guard leadership would be on solid, unshakable legal ground to refuse any order from Richmond to go out and confiscate weapons. But let's say, for the sake of argument, that someone in the VANG completely blew an integrity gasket and said, go do it. Well, then....

2) Good luck getting all 7500 people in the VANG to go along with it. The tin-plated gods in Richmond forget that Virgina is a lot more than a couple of counties in the north. That state is a LOT more red than they think, and once you get out of NoVa and the coast, it's a different world...and that's the world most of the VANG comes from.
3) It's entirely likely that for all its combat ferocity - and the VANG is damned good, as befits the heirs of Lee's legions - they will go all Gomer Pyle when it comes to finding 'illegal' weapons. But
4) is the big one - if somehow, all the other safeguards fail, with one stroke of a pen DJT can Federalize the VANG...which immediately takes them away from Northam's control. Game, set and match, because at that point anybody in the VANG chain of command who authorized this happy horsesh!t is now liable to the UCMJ and they can at the very least look forward to dismissal and disgrace, because they (and a couple of generations of US military forces) have been taught as a matter of law that 'following orders' is not an excuse for breaking the law.

Sorry Mike, it does not apply to the NG when in state service. It only effects federal personnel. When the guard is federalized, then it applies. However, even the feds can be used in instances of insurrection.

Since the Aholes have no history, when good o'1861 came around even the federal military fractured. I suspect of the guard if they force the issue.

After meeting with former Minister Ghattas Khoury, a delegate from President Saad Hariri
...Second son of Rafik Hariri, the Leb PM who was assassinated in 2005. He has was prime minister in his own right from 2009 through early 2011. He was born in Riyadh to an Iraqi mother and graduated from Georgetown University. He managed his father's business interests in Riyadh until his father's assassination. When his father died he inherited a fortune of some $4.1 billion, which won't do him much good if Hizbullah has him bumped off, too....
, Geagea said, "there is no solution except with an independent government of specialists. This will translate into all of our political positions, and we will participate in parliamentary consultations, and the final decision on the nomination will be taken by the powerful bloc of the republic."

He considered that the issue of forming a government is still at the beginning "because some parties still insist on its position with a government as well as previous governments."

Talks between the main parties in Leb are facing a dead-end since Saad Hariri resigned as prime minister on October 29, amid massive protests against the ruling elite, which have long been marked by sectarian and political divisions.

Since October 17, Leb has witnessed widespread popular protests, calling for the dissolution of parliament, early elections, and the abolition of the sectarian quota system in politics, as many see it as a reason for the ineffectiveness of the government.

New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew is one of just two Democrats who voted against setting up the impeachment inquiry in the US House of Representatives on October 31.

If he changes his political party, it would be a sign of the strain the impeachment process is putting on moderate Democrats.

Trump carried Van Drew’s district in the 2016 presidential election and Democrats in similar districts face a deluge of Republican advertising attacks over impeachment and voters who are divided on the subject.

Democrats in the House on Friday approved two charges against Trump over his efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democratic political rival Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden

Trump is expected to become the third US president to be impeached when the full Democratic-led House votes on the charges, likely next week, setting up a trial in the Republican-controlled Senate. Trump’s fellow Republicans have shown no signs of wanting to remove Trump from office.

Home Front: Culture Wars
The Nation of Islam, The Black Hebrew Israelites, and shouting abuse at Jews on the London Underground: an essay on Antisemitism and Black Nationalism
Recommended. This really is multi-national culture wars, but we don’t have that category.
[AreoMagazine] One of the artefacts resulting from the rise of the smartphone and social media is the phenomenon of abusive racists caught on camera. One such episode took place recently on the London Underground. A man stood over a seated Jewish family with children, ranting at them for about twenty minutes, ignoring the father’s repeated requests to leave them alone. Another man tried to intervene and was threatened with violence. Reportedly, at least three people filmed the episode, and a clip from one of these videos went viral on Twitter and then appeared in the media. The abuser was later identified and arrested. The unpleasant story had a feel good ending, when a hijab-wearing Muslim woman intervened on the Jewish family’s behalf. She was later identified as Asma Shuweikh, and the father met her to personally thank her for her support. What began as a tirade of hatred ended as a story of cross-faith solidarity.

What made many commentators surprised and uncomfortable was that the attacker was a black man. His ideas seemed outlandish, especially the remark that, "These people are impostors, trying to claim my heritage and they’re trying to tell me that’s cool." He also mentioned the slave trade. He was clearly angry, not just in general but towards the Jewish family in particular. Many Twitter commentators concluded that he must simply be mentally ill‐which is possible. However, the strange ideas he mentioned were not simply his own warped inventions, but myths with deep roots in American black nationalist ideology. As a Jewish Londoner with a broad, racially mixed social circle, I have encountered these ideas frequently. I have watched them evolve and become popularised over the past few decades, and, in recent years, fuelled by social media and WhatsApp, they have reached a far broader audience.

The Tube attack may have been seen as an outlier, but, two days later, black men boarded a bus in East London and assaulted a group of Jewish schoolchildren. And a few days after that, two black men beat up a rabbi, while shouting "Kill the Jews," again in East London. Something was stirring, but this something was not new.

Anti-Semitism does not have a long history in black populations because there have been few deep historic ties between black and Jewish people. Ethiopia has an ancient Jewish population, but Ethiopia is an exception. In the rest of sub-Saharan Africa and the mostly West African diaspora in the Americas and Europe, there have been few sustained contacts between black and Jewish communities.
It's long, click through to read the whole thing.

Nadler's Frightening Abuse of Power
[AMERICANTHINKER] When the Dear Leader of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerry Nadler, said that this was too important a matter to trust to the voters in the next election, he and his ilk gave us a frightening preview of the Gulag into which they would put We the People, should they gain full control of the government.

They wrap themselves up in the Constitution but conveniently forget the first three words. They forget that the Constitution establishes three branches of government, not two. But they have no time for the courts to rule on disputed documents and privileged conversations. They call the President a dictator, yet can’t wait for the next election. That election would be tainted and corrupt, don’t ya know. Any election Trump might win would be "tainted" by definition. Look at all those Ukrainians and Russians who attend Trump rallies. And isn’t red the color of communism?

They quote the Founders profusely yet despise the Electoral College those they once called a collection of misogynistic slave-owning old white guys created to prevent just the kind of tyranny of the majority we see today. If a national popular vote is such a good thing, why don’t they select their presidential nominee that way, instead of choosing delegates state-by-state just as we choose presidential electors? They don’t want democracy. They want mob rule by their mob.

The old adage about grand juries needs to be updated in the age of Nadler, Schiff, and Pelosi for under their new rules it is now also possible to impeach a ham sandwich. All you need is an agenda-driven House majority that won’t accept the results of the last election and voila! -- or whatever the equivalent is in Ukrainian -- you can impeach a duly elected President of the United States because of personal animus against him and his policies. The Democrats constantly claim Republicans want to disenfranchise voters but they want to disenfranchise the entire country because the voters elected a Republican according to the rules in the Constitution. Voting rights, anyone?

Kentucky: outgoing governor pardons killer whose brother hosted fundraiser
[THEGUARDIAN] Days after leaving office, the former Kentucky governor Matt Bevin is facing widespread backlash and calls for an investigation following a number of controversial pardons of violent offenders on his way out the door.

Pardons are traditional at the end of a governor’s term ‐ and most of the Republican’s more than 400 pardons were for drug offenses. But a number of the pardons were for particularly violent crimes,
  • like a woman who gave birth in a flea market porta-potty and dumped her newborn into the toilet’s septic tank;

  • a man who hired a hitman to murder his business partner in front of his family;

  • a man convicted of beheading a woman and stuffing her body in a 55-gallon drum;

  • a man convicted last year of raping a nine-year-old child;

  • and a man convicted in a home invasion homicide whose brother hosted a fundraiser for the governor last year.

In that last case, Patrick Baker was pardoned just two years into his 19-year sentence for an incident in which he and several others impersonated law enforcement officers to gain entry to a home before shooting and killing a man inside. Two others imprisoned for the crime were not pardoned, despite prosecutors saying that Baker was the one who pulled the trigger.

In announcing the pardon, Bevin questioned the evidence presented in the case and the jury’s decision to convict Baker.

"The evidence supporting his conviction is sketchy at best," wrote Bevin in the pardon. "I am not convinced that justice has been served on the death of Donald Mills, nor am I convinced that the evidence has proven the involvement of Patrick Baker as murderer."

Bevin’s conclusion is starkly at odds with the judge who sentenced Baker, David Williams, who according to the Louisville Courier-Journal said: "I’ve never seen a more compelling or complete case ... the evidence was just overwhelming."

Baker’s brother Eric hosted Bevin at a fundraiser for the then governor at his home last year, raising $21,500, according to the paper, which has sparked accusations that the pardon was a favor, not the righting of a wrongful conviction.

In a letter to the Republican attorney general-elect, Daniel Cameron, on Friday, the Democratic senate minority leader, Morgan McGarvey, and the state representative Chris Harris asked for a special prosecutor or bipartisan special prosecuting team to investigate Bevin’s pardons, particularly the Baker pardon.

Mossad helps Denmark bust 20 terrorists - report
Follow up to this story from three days ago.
[JPOST] In July, Mossad Director Yossi Cohen noted that his agency has thwarted a large number of terror attacks, especially on airliners, across the world. The Mossad was behind successful efforts by Denmark to nab a cell of 20 Lions of Islam planning a wave of attacks, Channel 12 reported Saturday night.

According to the report, Danish security officials arrested the Lions of Islam and seized a variety of weapons.

While Israel previously disclosed that it had provided the intelligence to obstruct an ISIS plot to bomb a United Arab Emirates Etihad Airways flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi, Netanyahu revealed that the intelligence that broke the case was obtained through cyber tools.

He said that while he could not give specifics, the audience could "multiply by about 50" the Sydney airline terrorist plot, and that would be the number of terrorist plots worldwide (mostly by ISIS) that Israel has helped to prevent thanks to its cyber intelligence powers.

"The plane from Sydney to Abu Dhabi was not going to be hijacked, but went kaboom! in midair," he said. "We used our cyber tools to discover that ISIS was going to do this, and so we alerted the Australian police, and they stopped it before it could happen.

"This particular incident I can talk about because it was leaked to the media," Netanyahu said. "If you multiply that by 50, it will give you an idea of the contribution that Israel has made to prevent major terrorist operations, especially from ISIS, in dozens of countries. Most of those cases were foiled because of our cybersecurity operations."

In July, Mossad director Yossi Cohen noted that his agency had prevented a large number of terrorist attacks, especially on airliners, across the world.
The Times of Israel adds:
Six of those remained under arrest on Saturday, and were ordered held in pre-trial custody for four weeks.

The six people still jailed have pleaded not guilty to preliminary terror charges. If formally charged and convicted, they face potential life prison sentences, though in practice life sentences end up averaging 16 years in Denmark.

On Friday, the Copenhagen City Court remanded two men ages 24 and 25 to custody for allegedly trying to buy guns, silencers and ammunition that was “to be used in connection with one or several terror attacks in Denmark or abroad,” according to prosecutors.

The Copenhagen court on Thursday ordered two 21-year-old men and a 38-year-old woman to remain jailed for allegedly trying to produce one or several bombs with the explosive TATP, the prosecution said.

A sixth suspect, a 28-year-old man, was remanded to custody Thursday by a central Denmark court. The preliminary charge against him was not not known because the hearing was held behind so-called “double-closed doors,” meaning no information was made public.

Authorities have been tight-lipped and have given no specifics about a potential target for the attack.

Officers carried out the coordinated raids Wednesday as authorities feared the suspects were preparing one or several violent attacks. Thirteen of the 22 people arrested were released Thursday but remain suspects and the remainder had pretrial custody hearings set.

IHC Bar Association restores 60 lawyers' membership after 24 hours
[DAWN] The membership of 60 Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) members has been restored a day after it was suspended for not responding to a strike call by the Pakistain Bar Council and the Islamabad Bar Council (IBC), it emerged on Saturday.

According to a notification issued by the IHCBA, the membership was restored with immediate effect till the IBC decides the references against these lawyers.

As lawyers in the capital observed a nationwide strike on Friday, the ICHBA had also decided to boycott an oath-taking ceremony for new judges at the high court over the IHC chief justice's decision to suspend the practising licence of IHCBA Secretary Umair Baloch.

A letter written by the joint secretary of the IHCBA, Advocate Waqar Ahmed Gondal, to the IBC vice chairman Haroon Rashid stated: "Despite strike notice issued by the Pakistain Bar Council as well as Islamabad Bar Council, the following lawyers have disobeyed the directions issued by your good office, therefore, their membership of Islamabad High Court Bar Association is suspended forthwith.

"[...] And this reference is forwarded for necessary disciplinary action, as your good self has already announced [an] order of the suspension of their respective licenses to practice for one month," the letter added, in an apparent reference to a speech by Rashid in which he said that the licences of the lawyers who did not observe the strike would be suspended.

On Friday, lawyers across the country, on the call of legal bodies, boycotted courts to protest against the registration of cases against those lawyers who were arrested for their involvement in the rampage at Lahore's Punjab

The lawyers were responding to a strike call by the PBC. A notification issued by the PBC had said the protest was "against partial and biased conduct of the local police and the administration of Lahore against the lawyers as well as action taken by the Islamabad High Court against the secretary general, Islamabad High Court Bar Association".

Unrepentant lawyers
[DAWN] ONE would have imagined that our ’upholders of the law’ would have felt profound revulsion at the actions of their compatriots on Wednesday when a mob of black coats stormed the Punjab

Iraq
Pompeo warns Iran after proxy attacks in Iraq
[Jpost] US Secretary of State slammed Iranian-backed militias in Iraq for an attack near Baghdad International Airport that maimed five Iraqi soldiers. "To Iran’s leaders, the US will respond decisively if Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
or its proxies harm US personnel or our Iraqi partners." Pompeo also noted that Iran’s proxies in Iraq have conducted several attacks against bases in Iraq where US forces are located.

This comes after six months of tensions in Iraq in which Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias have been accused of carry out more than ten attacks against bases where US forces are present. The attacks have usually involved rocket and mortar fire that has rarely harmed anyone but comes close to bases where US forces and Iraqi forces are located. This includes Camp Taji, Ayn al-Asad base and Q-West and Balad air bases. These are key infrastructure and sites for US forces and the wider anti-ISIS Coalition. US Vice-President Mike Pence and US President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
have also spoken at Asad base to US troops.

The attacks have increased in recent months and included numerous katyusha-style rockets. Pompeo said the US would continue to work "hand-in-hand with our Iraqi partners" on Friday. "We must also use this opportunity to remind Iran’s leaders that any attacks by them or their proxies of any identity that harm Americans, our allies or our interests will be answered with a decisive US response," Pompeo said according to CNN.

Pompeo and the administration has warned Iran in the past about attacks. Iran has attacked oil tankers in May and June, downed a US drone in June and attacked Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s Abqaiq oil facility in September. It has also sought to send ballistic missiles to Iraq, according to reports, and built bases in Syria. The US now appears to be expanding its willingness to respond if Iraqi forces are targeted. The warning involves Iranian "proxies" which usually means Iranian-backed militias in Iraq. These are members of the Popular Mobilization Units, an official paramilitary unit of the security forces. They include militias that the US has already sanctioned as snuffies for beng linked to Iran’s IRGC. In addition the US recently sanctioned Qais Khazali, leader of Asaib Ahl al-Haq, one of the militias in the PMU. Khazali has threatened Dire Revenge against the US and others. Hadi al-Amiri and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, both leaders of the PMU with their own militias, have also threatened to hold the US responsible for any attacks against the PMU in Iraq. The US has blamed Iran and these militias for attacks in the past, including rockets fired at the Basra US consulate in 2018 and rockets fired near the US embassy in Baghdad in May.

International-UN-NGOs
Side by side, glimpses of Palestinian refugee camps then and now
Lots of then-and-now photos at the link
.[AlAhram] Visited by photographers decades apart, time seems to have passed at a different speed in many of the Paleostinian refugee camps scattered across Leb, Jordan, Syria, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Change there has been, but limited in its ambition. Canvas tents in 1948 Beirut grew up to be cinder block homes. Beaches evolved into sunless alleyways.

And young women balancing clay water pots on their heads in 1950s Gaza became the grandmothers of a generation who today have taps in their homes but still haul bottled water home because it is filtered, and so safer to drink.

A key presence in these lives is UNRWA, the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
agency which provides services and protection to 5.5 million Paleostinian refugees. Around a third ‐ more than 1.5 million - live in 58 registered camps.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Paleostine Refugees in the Near East ‐ its full name - was created by the U.N. General Assembly 70 years ago to deal with the hundreds of thousands of Paleostinian refugees who had been driven from their homes or fled the conflict surrounding the birth of the modern state of Israel in 1948.

One of the descendants of that exodus - Najah Abu Reyala - has lived all her life in Beach Camp, the third largest of eight refugee camps in coastal Gaza.

Now 61, she remembers the rudimentary conditions during her youth in the camp, where the population has grown from 23,000 to more than 85,000.

"Streets were not paved, they were sandy and dusty," she recalls. But although the passing of the years brought more services, it also brought more tension, divisions and despair.
Well...yeah. Because you're Paleos. It's your natural state
"Maybe they put electricity and water inside the houses, but things are far worse than they used to be," she said. "Back then, we were more closely knit, we were more united."

Abu Reyala and other refugees want the right to return to their families’ former lands in pre-1948 Paleostine, lands which now lie inside Israel. Israel has rejected any such right of return as a demographic threat to its Jewish majority.

And many Israelis regard UNRWA - by far the largest humanitarian organization handling Paleostinian refugees - with suspicion.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that UNRWA’s longevity had served to perpetuate, not solve, the refugee problem. "It is time (for) UNRWA (to) be dismantled," he said in 2017, urging the U.N. to "re-examine" its existence.

Just such a re-examination is due in the coming days, with the U.N. General Assembly to vote on renewing UNRWA's mandate.

...Exactly. If Abu Reyala wants to blame anyone, she should go to her grandparents' graves and curse the day they believed what they were told - that the Jews would kill everyone who stayed, and once the brave Arab armies exterminated the Jews once and for all they could return and take whatever they wanted.

Lady, YOUR ancestors knowingly and willingly made the call to put you where you're at, nobody to blame but them. You want to change it? You know what to do.

Science & Technology
This Rifle Beat Hitler and North Korea...And It's Deadly at 550 Yards: Meet the M-1
[The National Interest] Key point: Plastic and metal are in, but this wooden rifle was the Greatest Generation's greatest weapon.

A variety of outstanding weapons and pieces of equipment affected the course of World War II for both the Allies and the Axis powers.

There was the British workhorse 25-pounder field gun, the deadly Supermarine Spitfire fighter, the Avro Lancaster bomber, the universal carrier, and the dependable Bren light machine gun; the rugged Soviet T-34, regarded as the best tank of the war; the devastating German 88mm antiaircraft and artillery gun, and the formidable Tiger tank series; the feared Japanese Mitsubishi Zero carrier fighter; and, from the American "arsenal of democracy" came the ubiquitous jeep, the Sherman medium tank, the half-track, the bazooka rocket launcher, the universally used C-47 transport plane‐and the Garand M-1 infantry rifle.

Designed long before the war by John C. Garand, a French Canadian engineer, the semiautomatic, gas-operated, air-cooled, clip-fed M-1 was the main infantry weapon of the U.S. Army in 1941-1945. Firing a .30-caliber cartridge in eight-round clips, it was the world’s first semiautomatic rifle in military service and was used wherever American soldiers saw action, in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, the Pacific Theater, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.

The M-1 had a significant advantage over the bolt-action rifles used by the other Allied and enemy armies because of its semiautomatic mechanism. Its shooter could fire as fast as he could squeeze the trigger. A trained soldier was able to fire eight rounds within 20 seconds and then quickly insert a full clip without taking his sights off the target. He could also load with regular ball, tracer, armor-piercing, or incendiary ammunition, and with relative ease he could turn the weapon into a grenade launcher.

#8  How much is due to the 30-06 cartridge?

I am ignorant to the reality of this stuff, I got my first rifle last year, a .22 bolt action pop gun. I learned my shooting in scouts 60 years ago
but for a variety of female objections couldn't have my own till we moved to NH to retire. When I've had the opportunity I've shot a lot of different guns, but does 2 or 3 shots really count?

I've heard that the AR10 with a .308 is a good match for a Garand, but as I said "What do I know?"

#10  I have an AR-10 in .308, it accepts 20 and 25 rounds magazines. It's a good rifle, certainly out to the ranges I would use it at, which for me is the same as the ranges I would use the Garand. The Garand though is a piece of history, one that just....feels right when you shoot it. Proper. No idea how to describe it other than that. Is there more effective rifles now, certainly. But it's just not the same.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Fierce clashes erupt between #Lebanese protesters and security forces in #Beirut streets in front of parliament
[TWITTER]
The Times of Israel adds:
The violence Saturday started when young men from a neighborhood known as a stronghold for supporters of the Shiite Amal and Hezbollah groups attacked the epicenter of anti-government protests, chanting “Shiite, Shiite.”

It was the second time this week that pro-Hezbollah and Amal supporters tried to attack the protest camp, angered by demonstrators’ criticism of their leaders.

Later, clashes erupted at the entrance to the street leading to parliament, which was blocked by security forces. Several people attacked the rally, prompting security forces to fire tear gas to push them back.

It wasn’t clear who the attackers were but the parliament speaker is the head of the Shiite Amal group. The attack took place only a few meters (yards) from the epicenter of the protests, and the anti-government demonstrators were dispersed to side streets as tear gas filled the area.

The Lebanese protests have been largely peaceful but clashes have become more frequent in recent weeks, with supporters of Hezbollah and Amal attacking protest camps in several cities amid counter-demonstrations.

The Red Cross and the Lebanese Civil Defense said at least 46 people were injured and transported to hospitals Saturday.

The Lebanese Red Cross told AFP people had been treated for breathing difficulties and fainting, along with injuries caused by stones, noting that security personnel and civilians were among those treated.

The tension came only two days before the president meets with parliamentary blocs to name a prime minister. Earlier consultations were postponed amid the failure of rival political groups to agree on a new head of government.

Arabia
Saudi Arabia's Role in the Pensacola Shooting
A taste:
[PJMedia] One of the most meaningless statements made by CNN concerning the recent Pensacola naval air station shooting‐where Ahmed Mohammed Alshamrani, a Saudi man, killed three people and injured eight‐was to say: "It does not appear Alshamrani had ties to terrorist groups, two sources told CNN. He had been training at the Florida base for two years, according to a front man for the assistant to the defense secretary."

The fact is, just being born and bred in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, as Alshamrani was, is enough to inculcate "terrorism"‐that is, hate for and possibly violence against non-Moslems‐into the hearts and minds of its inhabitants. One need not also have actual "ties to terrorist groups."

the late Osama bin Laden
...... who is now beyond all cares and woe......
, also born and raised in Saudi Arabia, is a perfect example. He was not eventually evicted for screaming bloody jihad or hate for infidels‐both mainstream aspects of Saudi teaching‐but for publicly accusing the Saudi crown of not practicing the jihad it preached.

If this seems exaggerated, consider some facts about our "good friend and ally,"™ Saudi Arabia. It has actually published online a fatwa, an Islamic-sanctioned opinion‐in Arabic only‐entitled, "Duty to Hate Jews, Polytheists, and Other Infidels" (my translation here). It comes from the fatwa wing of the government, meaning it has the full weight of the Saudi crown behind it. According to this governmentally-supported fatwa, all Moslems must "oppose and hate whomever Allah commands us to oppose and hate, including the Jews, the Christians, and other mushrikin [polytheists], until they believe in Allah alone and abide by his laws, which he sent down to his Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings upon him" (see Koran 60:4).

It all starts with the Saudi education system, which indoctrinates Moslem children into believing that "the Apes are the people of the Sabbath, the Jews; and the Swine are the infidels of the communion of Jesus, the Christians." "As early as first grade," Human Rights Watch reports, "students in Saudi schools are being taught hatred toward all those perceived to be of a different faith or school of thought... The lessons in hate are reinforced with each following year." Nor have any of Saudi Arabia’s promises for educational reform been fulfilled. According to a December 2018 report:

Saudi Arabia had previously pledged to remove all incitement content from its textbooks by 2008 and the government continues to allege that this issue has long since been resolved. However, other reports say otherwise. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a study this past March which says that the curriculum contains incitement content which had been thought removed. Examples of this content include demeaning non-Muslims and encouraging jihad against them. The execution of apostates is prescribed and children are encouraged not to associate with non-Muslims. Saudi Arabia not only continues to use these textbooks domestically, but exports them to other parts of the Middle East.

Indeed, Saudi-sponsored hate literature is found in mosques and Islamic centers all across the U.S.

What is the secret of Hillary Clinton's strangely plumped-up-cheeks?
Take a deep breath before checking out the photo at the link, dear Reader — it’s distressing, but I’m sure it’s just that she’s only partway through the procedures needed to prep for the campaign trail.
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
looked wonderfully youthful at an event on Broadway in New York last night - and aesthetic experts suggest it could be down to regular 'tweakments' and cosmetic procedures.

The radiant former First Lady, 72, showed off a wrinkle-free complexion and plumped-up cheeks as she joined her husband Bill behind the scenes of Ain't Too Proud: The Temptations Musical at The Imperial Theatre.

Sporting a vibrant pink tunic dress with black trousers and a statement gold necklace, reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
-born Hillary smiled as she chatted and posed with the cast.

Her glowing skin was noticeably smoother and her cheeks more defined than earlier in the week, when she spoke at the Jewish Labor Committee's Annual Human Rights Awards Dinner in the city on Monday.

Aesthetic expert Dr Ross Perry, founder of www.cosmedics.co.uk, said Hillary has been 'genetically blessed' with good skin - but claimed it could also be a result of Botox, injectable dermal fillers and Blepharoplasty.

Synagogue in Los Angles has been desecrated
[TWITTER]
Update from the Jerusalem Post at 3:45 p.m. ET:
Investigators believe a “lone male suspect” aged 20 to 25 is responsible for the crime, and that he has committed a number of other acts of vandalism in the area. The suspect overturned furniture in the building as well as “damaged several Jewish relics,” according to the statement. Fortunately the synagogue’s “main scrolls remained unscathed,” and disruption was “primarily to the synagogue’s interior contents,” with “very limited structural damage.”

Contrary to earlier reports, the Iranian synagogue, one of the largest in Los Angeles, suffered less damage than originally believed.

“No Torah has been torn apart. There was one non-kosher Sefer Torah [scroll] that was NOT in a locked hekhal [tabernacle] and was stored under the hekhal on the floor,” Moshe Isaacian, a Los Angeles local, tweeted.

“No broken doors, no broken windows only books and furniture were overturned. Thank g-d [sic],” Isaacian added.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea conducts ‘crucial test’ at long-range rocket site
[IsraelTimes] Pyongyang doesn’t specify what was tested but says it will further boost its ’reliable strategic nuclear deterrent’.

North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
said Saturday that it successfully performed another "crucial test" at its long-range rocket launch site that will further strengthen its nuclear deterrent.

The test possibly involved technologies to improve intercontinental ballistic missiles that could potentially reach the continental United States.

The announcement comes as North Korea continues to pressure the Trump administration for major concessions as it approaches an end-of-year deadline set by leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
to salvage faltering nuclear negotiations.

North Korea’s Academy of Defense Science did not specify what was tested on Friday. Just days earlier, the North said it conducted a "very important test" at the site on the country’s northwestern coast, prompting speculation that it involved a new engine for either an ICBM or a space launch vehicle.

The announcement suggests that the country is preparing to do something to provoke the United States if Washington doesn’t back down and make concessions to ease sanctions and pressure on Pyongyang in deadlocked nuclear negotiations.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Wikileaks releases new OPCW documents on Douma chemical weapons attack
[ALMASDARNEWS] Wikileaks has released its third batch of documents about the OPCW’s fact-finding mission in Douma, Syria.

In the new leak, Wikileaks releases a memo that reveals that 20 inspectors felt the version "did not reflect views of the team members that deployed Syria."

According to the documents, one paramedic from the fact-finding mission in Douma actually contributed the final version of the OPCW’s report.

Besides the one paramedic, the entire OPCW report was gathered by an entirely new team that did not visit the alleged site where the chemical weapons
...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented...
attack was reported.

"This new team was staffed with people who ’had only operated in country X’, according to the memorandum. It is not clear what country that refers to, except that it is presumably not Syria. It is possible, though only speculation, that country X refers to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
, as OPCW has sent teams into refugee camps there to interview survivors from Douma.

The author of the memorandum states that he was the one originally tasked with analysis and assessment of the two cylinders found on the scene of the alleged chemical attack. This was a task he undertook ’in the understanding [he] was clearly the most qualified team member, having been to the location in Douma and because of [his] expertise in metallurgy, chemical engineering (including pressure vessel design), artillery and Defence R&D’. He continues: ’In subsequent weeks I found that I was being excluded from the work, for reasons not made clear.’

The Grand Turk
Turkish warship confronted Israeli ship in eastern Mediterranean
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish Navy reportedly confronted an Israeli research vessel off the coast of Cyprus this month, the National Infrastructure, Energy and Water Ministry confirmed on Saturday, as reported by the Jerusalem Post.

According to the Jerusalem Post, "the Bat Galim, a vessel belonging to the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research, had researchers from Ben-Gurion University in the Negev aboard, as well as a Cypriot geologist, who were doing research approved by the Government of Cyprus in Cyprus’ territorial waters."

While The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor...
does not have jurisdiction over the Cypriot waters, they forced the Israeli vessel to sail south of the island-nation after the brief confrontation.

"The incident took place several weeks after Turkey and Libya signed an agreement dividing up authority over the areas of the Mediterranean between their two countries, which ignores Cyprus’ and Greece’s economic rights in the sea, granting them to Turkey," the Jerusalem Post reported.

The recent agreement between Turkey and Libya’s Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
-based Government of National Accord (GNA) has given Ankara the rights to drill off the coast of the North African country.

This has caused a major issue with several regional countries, including Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, and the Benghazi-based government in Libya.
The Times of Israel adds:
Turkey has recently taken steps to increase its influence in the eastern Mediterranean. It signed a maritime border agreement with Libya in November that has fueled regional tensions with Greece, Cyprus and Egypt over oil and gas drilling rights in the region.

The three countries, which lie between Turkey and Libya, blasted the maritime border accord, saying it was inconsistent with international law. Greece has expelled the Libyan ambassador over the pact.

Meanwhile, Ankara has warned it will use its military forces if necessary to halt any exploratory gas drilling in waters off Cyprus that it claims as its own.

The Channel 13 report noted that tensions could negatively affect Israel’s plans for a submarine pipeline to transfer gas from its offshore reserves to Europe, which is set to pass through Cyprus and Greece’s territorial waters.

The report said an Israeli embassy official in Ankara was called in last week for a conversation, in which Turkish officials warned that the pipeline project would require Turkey’s approval.

“The Turks are trying to establish themselves as the ones running the show [in the region], and that is very worrying,” an official told the network.

Neighbors Greece and Turkey are divided by a series of decades-old issues, including territorial disputes in the Aegean Sea. The NATO allies have come to the brink of war three times since the 1970s, including once over drilling rights in the area.

Greece insists the deal with Libya — which has no fully functioning government able to rule across all of its territory — is unenforceable and has stressed that it will protect its sovereign rights.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has said he will ask other NATO members at the alliance’s London summit, which was held in the first week of December, to support Greece, in the face of fellow member Turkey’s attempts to encroach on its sovereignty.

Turkey does not recognize Cyprus as a state — but does recognize the breakaway Turkish Cypriot entity, the only country to do so — and is conducting exploratory gas drilling in waters where the ethnically divided island nation has exclusive economic rights.

Ankara has said it is defending its rights and those of the Turkish Cypriots to regional energy reserves.

Jersey City shooting survivor says attackers looked well-trained, ‘came to kill’; is there a Farrakhan connection?
[Israel.Times]
  • NBC confirmed with the US military that the male shooter, David Anderson, had served in the US Army Reserve.

  • The two killers were armed with a variety of weapons, including an AR-15-style rifle and a shotgun that they were wielding when they stormed into the store in an attack that left the scene littered with several hundred shell casings.

  • A pipe bomb was also found in a stolen U-Haul van.

  • Store employee Douglas Miguel Rodriguez, 49.a non-Jewish immigrant from Ecuador, was killed while helping a customer escape.

  • Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said Friday that he believes Anderson and Graham were actually planning to target a yeshiva next door to the supermarket that had 50 children inside at the time of the assault.

A survivor of the deadly shooting at a kosher supermarket in Jersey City, New Jersey, said Friday that he had narrowly escaped death and that the shooters had clearly come into the store to kill people.

"The way they came in, they came to kill, to shoot," David Lax told CNN news.

The shooters killed three people Tuesday in the JC Kosher Supermarket before being killed by police. Authorities said the attackers were motivated by anti-Semitism.

Lax owns an appliance repair shop in the same neighborhood and had stopped in the supermarket for lunch. When the shooting started, he dove under the store’s refrigerated salad bar, until the male shooter moved past him. Lax then stood up and encountered the female attacker, who entered the store second.

"The second she starts pivoting herself, I just went right in and push back her arm and just run right out of the store," Lax said.

The woman, later identified as Francine Graham, fired at him as he fled, Lax said. Lax dashed across the street to safety in a dramatic escape that was captured on surveillance footage.

"I didn’t look right or left, I just ran for my life," he said.

In a separate interview Thursday with NBC news, Lax said the two shooters appeared well-prepared for the assault. NBC confirmed with the US military that the male shooter, David Anderson, had served in the US Army Reserve.

"The way they were carrying themselves, the way they were handling themselves, they were very professional," Lax said.

The entire ordeal for him lasted about 10 seconds, he said. After fleeing the store Lax found a child outside, whom he escorted farther from the store, then called the police.

"I’m not sure why, but I’m alive," he said.

The two killers were armed with a variety of weapons, including an AR-15-style rifle and a shotgun that they were wielding when they stormed into the store in an attack that left the scene littered with several hundred shell casings, broken glass and a community in mourning. A pipe bomb was also found in a stolen U-Haul van.

The victims killed in the store were: Mindel Ferencz, 32, who with her husband owned the grocery; 24-year-old Moshe Deutsch, a rabbinical student from Brooklyn who was shopping there; and store employee Douglas Miguel Rodriguez, 49.

Rodriguez, a non-Jewish immigrant from Ecuador, was killed while helping a customer escape.

Before arriving at the supermarket, the shooters killed police officer Joseph Seals, who had confronted them in a nearby cemetery. Officials have not yet released details of the encounter.

Law enforcement officials said the shooters were motivated by anti-Jewish hatred.

Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop said Friday that he believes Anderson and Graham were actually planning to target a yeshiva next door to the supermarket that had 50 children inside at the time of the assault.

On Thursday New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said the attack was driven by hatred of Jews and law enforcement and is being investigated as an act of domestic terrorism.

Members of the area’s ultra-Orthodox Jewish community gathered Wednesday night for funerals for Ferencz and Deutsch. Thousands of people followed Ferencz’s casket through the streets of Brooklyn, hugging and crying.

The bloodshed in the city of 270,000 people across the Hudson River from New York City spread fear through the nascent Jewish community of around 100 families, most of whom moved to New Jersey from Brooklyn in recent years.

FBI locates van thought linked to deadly New Jersey attack

[IsraelTimes] Vehicle, which suspects reportedly lived in, found in Orange, New Jersey, after police in nearby Ramapo, New York, alert public to search

Federal authorities have recovered a van that may be connected to the Jersey City shootings that killed four people and are now being investigated as domestic terrorism, the FBI said Saturday.

The white van recovered Saturday morning in Orange, New Jersey, about 11 miles (17 kilometers) northwest of Jersey City, is being examined for any evidence related to the attack, the FBI said in a news release.

A man and woman killed a police officer near a cemetery, three people in a kosher supermarket and then died in an hourslong gun battle with police Tuesday, authorities say. It was not clear how the van may be linked to the attack, and authorities did not release further details.

According to reports, attackers, David Anderson and Francine Graham may have lived in the van after being evicted from their Elizabeth, New Jersey, home.

Police in Ramapo, New York, close to New Jersey’s northern border, had earlier said that FBI officials had told them they were trying to locate a white van in connection with Tuesday’s events.

New Jersey’s attorney general said Thursday that the attackers were driven by hatred of Jews and law enforcement. The two were armed with a variety of weapons, including an AR-15-style rifle and a shotgun, and a pipe bomb was also found in a stolen U-Haul van — a vehicle different from the white van recovered Saturday.

Both Orange and Ramapo have large Jewish communities.

The attackers, Anderson, 47, and Graham, 50, had expressed interest in a fringe religious group called the Black Hebrew Israelites, whose members often rail against Jews and whites, but there was no evidence so far that they were members and they are believed to have acted alone, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal said.
An earlier Times of Israel article adds:
The Tunnel2Towers organization, formed after Sept. 11 to support police officers killed in the line of duty, said Friday it would pay the mortgage of Seals, who left behind a wife and five children.

Director of Public Safety James Shea called Seals “the ultimate detective or officer we would point to to tell young officers, ‘This is how you should behave.'” He said Friday that he doubted Seals would have been ambushed by the pair. Authorities haven’t disclosed why Seals was in the cemetery or details of the confrontation that led to his death.

Anderson fired away with the AR-15-style rifle as he entered the store, while Graham brought a 12-gauge shotgun into the shop. They also had handguns with a homemade silencer and a device to catch shell casings. In all, they had five guns — four recovered in the store, one in the van — in what Grewal called a “tremendous amount of firepower.”

Serial numbers from two of the weapons showed that Graham purchased them in Ohio in 2018, the attorney general said.
And from the New York Times via Ace of Spades — have we got ourselves a Muslim?
Sometime after Mr. Anderson moved in, the neighbor began hearing noises from downstairs.

Mr. Anderson repeatedly played audio recordings of a man the neighbor believed to be Louis Farrakhan, and sounded like he himself was growing agitated. He shouted bible verses and then chanted out his interpretations of what they meant.

The neighbor said the most common theme was that Mr. Anderson's religion was the only true faith while others -- specifically Catholicism and Judaism -- were false.

#3  Moses' wife was Ethiopian, but that's about it I think. I may be wrong.

I don't know if Gershom had black children. They may've been excluded from the levitical order if they looked black though. We know those guys didn't like Zipporah much.

#4  Moses's first wife, Zipporah was the daughter of the priest chieftain of Midian. That is early in exodus.

In chapter 12 of Numbers, Moses's wife is said to be a 'Cushi' which is frequently thought to be an Ethiopian. That may have been Moses's second wife or the Midianites might have been from ethiopia. Or maybe 'cushi' means 'black' or 'dark skin' or even 'beautiful'. That latter interpretation assumes that Aaron and Miriam were saying in effect that since the wife keep herself beautiful, Moses shouldn't have been ignoring her. It's complicated.

The decade-long insurgency has caused the deaths of some 30,000 people and driven 2 million to flee their homes.

Action Against Hunger said one of its employees, two drivers and three health ministry workers were kidnapped. In September it said one of the hostages had been killed.

On Friday, the humanitarian agency said the group claimed to have killed four of the remaining five hostages.

"Action Against Hunger condemns these latest killings in the strongest terms and deeply regrets that its calls for the release of the hostages have not been acted upon," it said.

The organization called for the "immediate release" of its staff member, Grace, who remains in captivity.
