#5  #1 yeah, understood - sorry it's a sprawling roundup article by Bill Gertz and three others that's tough to summarize.

I guess the key passage is this one that closes the piece with a quote from a former FBI honcho under W:

The FBI, which is in charge of countering domestic security threats posed by foreign intelligence services or domestic terrorists, has largely avoided focusing on Antifa. A search of the FBI website produces no results for Antifa.

The FBI investigated three Antifa activists suspected of beating a Unite the Right protester in Charlottesville three years ago, but no charges were brought.

Kenneth deGraffenreid, who was deputy national counterintelligence executive during the George W. Bush administration, said the FBI has not been engaged in effective domestic counterintelligence for years.

“The FBI has not had a meaningful domestic counterintelligence capability for many years,” Mr. deGraffenreid said. “They’ve been distracted or politically corrupted.”

An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment.

Retired top general joins Mattis dissent from Trump, warns of 'beginning of the end' for democracy if troops are used against protests
[Headtopics] WATCH: President Trump was once a huge fan of Gen. Mattis — and here's the video to prove it

"The slide of the United States into illiberalism may well have begun on June 1, 2020," retired Marine Gen. John Allen wrote in a scathing op-ed. "Remember the date."
"Donald Trump expressed only the barest of condolences at the murder of George Floyd, but he also said nothing about the fundamental and underlying reasons for the unrest: systemic racism and inequality, a historic absence of respect, and a denial of justice," Allen wrote. "Yes, he mentioned George Floyd, but he did not touch on long-standing societal problems at all. He sees the crisis as a black problem — not as something to be addressed by creating the basis and impetus for a move toward social justice, but as an opportunity to use force to portray himself as a ’law and order’ president.

Brooklyn man, 20, who 'stabbed a police officer in the neck' is an Albanian immigrant
with possible ties to terrorism' as FBI joins investigation
The 20-year-old Brooklyn man who stabbed a police officer in the neck and then stole his handgun before he was shot eight times by nearby cops is an immigrant from the Balkan region who is being investigated for ties to terrorism.

Two other coppers were shot in the hand during the incident late on Wednesday, though it is unclear if they were shot by the suspect with the gun he stole from the ambushed cop or if they were hit by gunfire from responding officers.

The suspect has been identified as Dzenan Camovic. The FBI announced on Thursday that it is taking part in the investigation.

The incident took place late Wednesday near the intersection of Church Street and Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, where officers were patrolling the area to prevent looting.

According to police, one officer was ambushed by a man who walked up behind him and stabbed him in the neck.

The New York Police Department on Thursday released an image of a knife that Sherlocks claim was used to stab a police officer in Brooklyn late on Wednesday night

The man then took the policeman’s handgun. Officers who were on duty nearby rushed to the scene and found the suspect with the gun.

A total of 22 shots were fired, according to authorities.

Two coppers were shot in the hand, according to NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea.

All three officers are recovering from non-life threatening injuries at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn.

Camovic, was shot eight times by officers who responded to the scene. He is listed at death's door.

#2  Suspected NYC cop-stabber is 'absolutely not a terrorist,' relative says
[NYPOST] The man suspected of stabbing an NYPD cop in the neck without warning is a “practicing Muslim” whose family is from Bosnia — but he’s “absolutely not a terrorist,” a relative who was interviewed by federal terrorism investigators said Thursday.

The relative also said that Dzenan Camovic, 20, never expressed any anti-police sentiment to him and questioned the official account of Wednesday night’s incident in Brooklyn.

‘“I’ve known him since he was 6-inches tall. That this is a terrorism, it’s illogical,” said the middle-aged man, who declined to give his name.

“He was raised here, [English] is his only language … He was as good of a child as a child could be.”

The relative’s comments came after law enforcement sources said authorities were investigating Wednesday night’s unprovoked attack as a possible act of terror, based in part on anti-cop messages that Camovic allegedly posted on social media.

Sources also said that while Camovic wasn’t on the radar of anti-terror investigators, he’d been in contact with people who were and his family may have a “nexus to terrorism.”

The relative, who was seen speaking to a pair of FBI agents outside the Brooklyn apartment building where Camovic lives with his parents and sister, said, “I have the utmost respect for law enforcement, but it’s easy to accuse a Muslim of terrorism.”

California man seen on camera pointing AR-15 at protesters arrested, charged with assault
[FoxNews] A California man captured on camera pointing a loaded AR-15 rifle at a group of advancing protesters has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Jacob Daniel Bracken, 38, of Rancho Cucamonga, faces two counts of assault with a deadly weapon related to the incident in Upland on Monday, the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office said.

Even though Bracken did not fire the rifle and no one was injured, Upland Police Chief Darren Goodman explained the assault charge: “You point the weapon at someone with the intent to intimidate and the weapon being loaded itself.”

One video shared by a KNBC reporter at the scene showed Bracken take the AR-15 out of a pickup truck, yelling for the crowd to “back the f--- up.”

Goodman said they have videos as well as still photos that “conclusively showed” Bracken pointing the weapon at some point.

In light of recent events, Project Veritas today released a video exposing the violent nature of the controversial group known as “Antifa.”

  • Nicholas Cifuni, Rose City Antifa: “Practice Things Like an Eye Gouge, it Takes Very Little Pressure to Injure Someone’s Eyes.”

  • Nicholas Cifuni, Rose City Antifa: “Police Are Going to Be Like: ‘Perfect, We Can Prosecute These [Antifa] F**kers, Look How Violent They Are.’ And Not That We [Antifa] Aren’t, But We Need to F**king Hide That Sh*t.”

  • Nicholas Cifuni, Rose City Antifa: “Consider Like, Destroying Your Enemy. Not Like Delivering a Really Awesome Right Hand, Right Eye, Left Eye Blow You Know. It’s Not Boxing, It’s Not Kickboxing, It’s Like Destroying Your Enemy.”

  • Ashes, Rose City Antifa: “The Whole Goal of This, Right, is to Get Out There and do Dangerous Things as Safely as Possible.”

“Depending on the setting, if I were to be caught or found out in a setting where I am present with them, it could escalate to violence against me,” said the Project Veritas Undercover Journalist.

“They do not hesitate to either push back or incite some kind of violence. In our classes and in our meetings, before we do any sort of demonstration or Black Bloc, we talk about weapons detail and what we carry and what we should have,” said the Project Veritas Undercover Journalist.

Top Swedish scientist admits country could have battled virus better
[IsraelTimes] Sweden’s chief epidemiologist shows contrition as criticism mounts over the Scandinavian country’s hotly debated method of fighting the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
, which has resulted in one of the highest death rates per capita in the world.

Sweden has stood out among European nations and the world for the way it has handled the pandemic, not shutting down the country or the economy like others but relying on citizens’ sense of civic duty. Swedish authorities have advised people to practice social distancing, but schools, bars and restaurants have been kept open the entire time. Only gatherings of more than 50 people have been banned.

"I think there is potential for improvement in what we have done in Sweden, quite clearly," Anders Tegnell of the Public Health Agency tells Swedish radio.

Sweden, a nation of 10.2 million people, has seen 4,468 deaths linked to COVID-19, which is far more than its Nordic neighbors and one of the highest death rates per capita in the world. Denmark has had 580 coronavirus deaths, Finland has seen 320 and Norway has had 237, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

"If we were to encounter the same disease again, knowing precisely what we know about it today, I think we would settle on doing something in between what Sweden did and what the rest of the world has done," says Tegnell, considered the architect of the unique Swedish pandemic approach.

According to Woody Guthrie, a hammer is a very powerful weapon, so this is fine.

People need to get trained on gun ownership. They need to know the difference between a hero sandwich (wrapped in foil) and a gun or knife. You can't use deadly force with a guy wielding a fucking sandwich.

Are you talking about "what ought to be" or "what is"?

I'm sure you understand that there's a big difference there.

Esper says he opposes using Insurrection Act to send military to quell unrest
[FoxNews] Defense Secretary Mark Esper declared Wednesday that despite President Trump's remarks earlier this week, he is not in favor of the president invoking the Insurrection Act in order to send the U.S. military to quell violent protests.

During a morning press briefing, Esper addressed controversies surrounding Trump's stance on violence and looting that has broken out across the country in the aftermath of George Floyd's death, coinciding with other peaceful protests.

"The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire situations," Esper said. "We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act."

In some states, governors have called for the National Guard to assist police, which does not require the Insurrection Act. Esper said he was "very proud" of the National Guard members who have gone out to help.

But Trump has suggested going a step further.

"If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them," he said Monday. Esper already has ordered military police active-duty troops from Fort Bragg and Fort Drum and a ready battalion from the 82nd Airborne to stage in the Washington, D.C. area at Maryland's Andrews Air Force Base and Virginia's Fort Belvoir.

Esper on Wednesday then spoke about Trump's controversial appearance at a D.C. church that had previously been harmed by fire.

Reports had said that the National Guard and U.S. Park Police had used tear gas and rubber bullets to clear peaceful protesters from the area before Trump stopped there for a photo opportunity. Esper said that National Guard members did not do this. The U.S. Park Police has denied this as well, but did acknowledge using smoke canisters and pepper balls on the protesters.

During the brief visit at the boarded-up church, the president stood in front and posed for photographers while holding up a Bible. He was accompanied by a variety of aides and officials, including Attorney General Bill Barr, daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump, Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, and Esper.

Defense Science Board member James Miller resigned Tuesday following the incident, citing Esper's failure to oppose the use of force in clearing the crowd.

"If last night’s blatant violations do not cross the line for you, what will?" Miller wrote in a resignation letter that was published by the Washington Post.

Esper said Wednesday that while he was aware that he and the president, along with a number of others, were going to the church and Lafayette Square, he did not know what was going to happen once they got there. He said he "did not know a photo op was happening" at the church before they got there, and that he had not been briefed on law enforcement's plans. Esper stated he tries to keep himself and his department out of politics as best he can.

Esper has also come under fire for his use of the term "battle space" when describing how governors should control protests. He stopped short of saying he regretted using that military terminology and claimed it was simply part of the military’s lexicon but that he was not referring to the protesters. “In retrospect, I would use a different word,” he said.

Before discussing these controversies, Esper addressed Floyd's death, calling it a "tragedy" and expressing condolences to Floyd's family and friends.

"Racism is real in America, and we must all do our very best to recognize it, to confront it, and to eradicate it," he said.

#3  They don't understand. The founders put their trust in the militia not the military. They intentionally keep the active military small. They were recently Englishmen who could still recall the military dictatorship of Oliver Cromwell. When war was at hand they'd mobilize both the militia and increase the regular military. Both would be demobilized after the war. So it was as late as 1945. It was 1948 that Washington decided to maintain a large peacetime military which has distorted the structure of the Constitution and the size of the national government.

When the civil war does come, the military will split. The upper echelons will mostly go with the globalists. The middle ranks will mostly break for the republic.

Imagine if he had set up an equivalent of Obama's OFA, instead of going the Bommercon route of "Trust the military and boost the stock market and everything will take care of itself."

He might now have a cadre of activists who could be doing end-runs around all this crap and cracking down on the brains and money behind this insurrection.

Then, when that's dealt with, you crack down on the Orcs who are the muscle.

We used Japanese methods on Tokyo and German methods on Dresden.

Did that make our victory over them any less legitimate?

"Going through channels" is fine if the channels have not been co-opted by your enemies.

If they have been co-opted, then it is not being "principled" to go through them, it's just being a sucker.

Being a sucker is fine if the sucker is the only one who suffers from it.

But if other people (like Trump supporters) are being dragged down for the sake of the sucker's "principles", then I don't see that as a virtue.

It's virtue-signalling.

I thought people on the Right despised that sort of thing.

#15  "The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire situations," Esper said. "We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act."

tl;dr:
Since
1) using mil forces is a last resort
And
2) we are not in that situation (right now)
Therefore,
3) I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act

The article spins this into a disagreement with the President who said,
"If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military"

Notice the future hypothetical tense of that statement? "If", not "I'm going to".
And Esper doesn't say he opposes the use of the Insurrection Act now and forever more, amen. He says not right now.

I'm really starting to hate the news media.

A Spanish Porn Star Killed a Dude While High on Toad Venom
[Right Scoop] The moment you saw this headline, you knew. Without a doubt, this is the most exciting thing you’re going to read all day.

Sure, there are protests and riots going on. There is still a pandemic to worry about. Donald Trump has now claimed he made up Jim Mattis’ "Mad Dog" nickname. There is so much going on in the world that it’s really just overwhelming.

But, in the midst of all this darkness, a headline appeared over here at RedState dot com that made you stop and forget all of the other troubles of the world. For a moment, you forgot all that negativity and saw, for an instant, that there is a God, and he can provide you with a distraction so powerful it is nothing short of a miracle.

A Spanish porn star — that’s right, an adult movie actor from Spain — may have killed someone, and may have done so while high. On toad venom.

There is so much happening in this headline that you have to stop and re-read it a few times just to see if your eyes are playing tricks on you. Dear readers, your eyes are just fine. This precise order of words, "A Spanish Porn Star Killed a Dude While High on Toad Venom", is not your brain trying to function through a ruptured aneurysm. This is a real story that happened, and it is my honor to present it to you.

As I was scrolling through all the negativity on Twitter, I saw this story posted. Immediately, I felt that it was my duty to share it with you all.

John Lewis praises George Floyd protesters for getting in 'good trouble'
[The Hill] Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a civil rights icon and former confidant of Martin Luther King Jr., on Thursday offered praise to those participating in the nationwide protests over the death of George Floyd.

"It was very moving to see hundreds of thousands of people from all over America and around the world take to the streets to speak up, to speak out, to get into what I call ’good trouble,’ or to get in the way," Lewis said on CBS’ "This Morning," referencing a phrase he frequently uses in reference to political activism. "And because of the action of young and old, black, white, Latino, Asian-American and Native Americans ... because people cried and prayed, people would never forget what happened, and how it happened."

"The way this young man died, watching the video, it made me so sad," Lewis said of footage of Floyd’s death. "It was so painful. It made me cry. I kept saying to myself, how many more? How many more young black men will be murdered? The madness must stop."

Exclusive: Coronavirus began 'as an accident' in Chinese lab, says former MI6 boss
[Telegraph] A former head of MI6 has said he believes the coronavirus pandemic "started as an accident" when the virus escaped from a laboratory in China.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Sir Richard Dearlove said he had seen an "important" new scientific report suggesting the virus did not emerge naturally but was man-made by Chinese scientists.

The apparent discovery will raise the prospect of China paying "reparations" for the death and economic catastrophe wreaked upon the world, the former intelligence chief said. It comes as Beijing faces growing pressure to explain precisely how coronavirus first began to spread late last year.

International scientists have reached a near-unanimous consensus, however, that the virus emerged in animals — most likely bats or pangolins — before jumping to the human population....

Biden Has No Good Options
Kurt at TownHall
This riot crisis will pass, and then it’s nothing but bad choices ahead for Badfinger Biden, not that he realizes it. He’s too far gone and far too busy watching his stories on the tee-vee to negotiate the crucial strategic decisions he faces if he wants to win. Even if not he has not already disembarked the short bus in Seniletown, he’s at least wandering aimlessly through its suburbs. The calls he has to make — about reacting to the failing Antifa/Democrat insurrection, about picking a veep, and about how to handle the only guy who seemed to grow younger, healthier and sharper in the Oval Office — would not be easy one for someone on the ball, much less someone giggling as he chases a ball around his backyard.

The uprising by the Antifa-Democrat axis, where state and local Democrat politicians wink at the violent, militarized wing of their party’s criminal antics in order to intimidate the normal, is going to be a disaster for the Dems. Oh, the media wants to present it as this dire nightmare for Trump, but within 24 hours five people personally (putting aside online folks) told me they were going to become first time gun owners. I’ll take anecdotes over media narratives any day, as President Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit should have. The Secret Trump Vote on 11/3 is gonna be huge.

There were several factors that the bad guys (uh oh, assuming genders again!) failed to appreciate when they decided to exploit the protests. First, there was the sense of betrayal it would create. People agreed that the actions of the Minneapolis cops were unacceptable, but they also saw through the cynical effort to leverage that tragedy into an excuse for radical violence. The essential insincerity of Antifa and the Antifa-curious was confirmed when we saw black law enforcement officers dead on the ground and it was received with a collective shrug by the Dem pols, trust fund terrorists and kneeling suburban mommies who wail about their privilege.

...Biden’s big decision is how to react to the crisis. He could babble incoherently in a church — this was hours before Trump made it bad to be around churches — and he could read off a teleprompter, but it’s his strategy that’s the challenge. He has to take a stand, and threading the needle he needs to thread would be tough for someone who wasn’t a step or two away from long talks with invisible bunnies.

He can embrace law-and-order, but he gets nothing from that since Trump has captured that high ground. All Biden gets from that option is to alienate the radicals. Or he can continue with his coy embrace of these Antifa scumbags, which Trump will jam down his throats. Neither expands his base; both options shrink it in some way. Trump can only gain support from going law and order...unlike the Dems, he has no pro-chaos constituency.

And then there’s the vice-presidential choice. Amy Klobuchar’s going to be tossing dishes at the help because she’s out. Besides bearing the stink of Minnesota Democrats in general, she specifically failed to charge the killer cop the last time he tried to take out an unarmed black man. And Governor Karen from Michigan is out. Between her grotesque love of bossing folks around and her husband’s "Don’t you know who I am" antics, she’s also a person of pallor and modern anti-racism demands that people be evaluated by nothing but their race. Biden can’t choose Big Chief Warren despite her status as a make-believe minority because — and this is the saddest thing ever — she would overshadow him.

So, maybe he chooses Stacy Abrams, who has offered subtle and cryptic hints that perhaps she is interested in the job. Governor Abrams (D-Diabetes) would be a great choice in my view, but I’m biased because I want Trump to win.

This leaves the politically and otherwise flexible Kamala Harris. She checks the minority box, and they can certainly patch things up over her calling him a racist on a nationally televised debate stage. When he tells her he will "forgive and forget," she can be sure about the forgetting part. But Harris, the former prosecutor, has a record that actually allows Trump to slide to her left on criminal justice (she liked to lock up hopheads and condoned prosecutorial antics) as well as to her right (he supports the death penalty).

Who will Hoover’s dad choose? Will he remember who he chose the next day? Now, his advisors might well be expected to strongly recommend a candidate, but you know how stubborn weird old people get. I can definitely see him putting his foot unsteadily down for his choice of Stacy Abrams because she once brought him a yummy oatmeal cookie.

And then there’s going up against Trump. Have you seen him lately? He’s slimmer, and he looks like he’s glowing. Most presidents decay in office. Trump is thriving, and he’ll be going up against a guy who looks more like Jennifer Rubin every day.

#14  I know you hate Trump but you're ignoring reality. Even the Dems' own top economists are expecting a strong economy and telling their party to try another tack.

As to "The Silent Majority," we've seen this movie before - again and again.

There is no way a goof like Biden can win unless he hits the jackpot with 1) suburban marrieds amd 2) white working-class Dems in MI PA and WI.

Few suburban parents are going to vote for the party of BLM-Antifa. Few working-class whites in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin are going to vote for the "Defund the Police" party.

And few black men are going to be inspired to actually show up at the polls and vote for a senile, pathetic little old white man who supported aggressive policing throughout his 50-year career of buffoonery, lying and non-achievement.

But there are millions of Americans who are appallled by the violence and who will absolutely vote against anarchy and violence this fall.

Don't know the situation in Germany, but here the polls tend to have a lot of bias which greatly reduces their value for prediction. Example: Hillary was the overwhelming favorite in the last election.

It helps to look at where the numbers are coming from, but even Nate Silver missed Trump becoming President.

At this point, probably best to think of them as battle-space preparation rather than statistics.

But Biden *is* still in the game. I find that so surprising that it makes me think there is something else going on - like using him as target to draw Trump's fire now but replacing him later.

Let us note for the record that E.C. correctly called Biden vs Warren for Dem candidate. I figured there was no way the Dems would pick a old, senile, white guy over a woke POC Vagino-American, but they picked the old, senile, white guy. What do I know?

Warren Wilhelm's Response to savage attack on unarmed NYC patrol officers (2 shot, 1 stabbed): "We've got to be there for each other, no matter what happens..."
[FoxNews] A New York City police officer was randomly attacked and stabbed in the neck late Wednesday while patrolling in Brooklyn, which resulted in a struggle that caused two additional officers to suffer gunshot wounds.

Police said at an early news conference Thursday that a preliminary investigation indicated a male suspect walked up to the officers casually and whipped out the knife. They said the officers involved had been assigned to an anti-looting post to prevent people from breaking into stores.

"That officer was stabbed in the left side of his neck, thank God, missing an artery," New York City Police Commissioner Dermot Shea said.

He called it a "completely cowardly, despicable, unprovoked attack on a defenseless police officer."

Two additional officers were struck in the hand by gunfire during the incident, police said. They were rushed to Kings County Hospital and are expected to survive.

Nearby officers later heard the gunshots and responded to find the suspect brandishing a gun, which police said was likely taken from an officer. The suspect was shot multiple times at the scene later described by Shea as "chaotic." He added that 22 shell casings were recovered following the incident.

"I think we are all fed up with what we're seeing and many levels. This violence has to stop," Shea said.

New York City has been trying to get a handle on the widespread unrest after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody. The shooting occurred nearly four hours after the city's 8 p.m. curfew.

Mayor Bill de Blasio went to the hospital after the confrontation to check on the officers, according to a spokesperson. He later spoke at the press conference on Thursday.

"Thank God all our officers will recover," de Blasio said. "It's another example of what it means every day for men and women of the NYPD to protect all of us."

Video purportedly of the incident on Twitter showed streets filled with police cars at the scene, while multiple gunshots could be heard.

"No matter what else is happening around us, we've got to be there for each other," the mayor added. "Officers protect us. We have to respect, support, protect them. We've got to find a way to move forward no matter how much is thrown at us. The coronavirus and everything else."

New York City has been roiled by days of protests over police brutality. It didn't appear that the unprovoked incident was related to the demonstrations. There were peaceful marches and protests throughout the day Wednesday, but police moved in to break them up when the curfew took effect.

Several large marches in other parts of Brooklyn had continued after the curfew that authorities imposed to stop stores from being damaged and ransacked.

The incident comes after a shocking video posted on social media Tuesday showed a New York City police officer being struck by a vehicle in what appeared to be a deliberate hit-and-run. Shea said the officer was still in intensive care, "but recovering slowly."

India, Australia seal deal to use each other's military bases
[JPost] - India and Australia sealed a deal on Thursday to get access to each other's military bases, the Indian foreign ministry said - a pact that would clear the way for more military exchanges and exercises in the Indo-Pacific.

The mutual logistic support agreement was signed during a virtual summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison.

India has a similar pact with the United States which is seen as part of a broader security cooperation to balance China's growing economic and military weight in the region.

In Bold Anti-Trump Statement, Pelosi Rips Up Bible
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a bold, powerful statement to oppose Trump, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi solemnly tore up the Bible after Trump was seen holding one up in front of a church.

At a press conference, the Speaker of the House held up a Bible and then ripped it in two, declaring that she was against anything Trump was associated with.

"If Trump is for the Bible, then I am against it," she said as she struggled to rip the Bible in half. Finally, aides came to intervene, pre-ripping the spine of the Bible so it would be easier for her to tear. "All the books of the Bible are bad: Genesis, Joseph, the one with the big fish, even Hezekiah. We must stand against Trump's bigotry by ripping up anything he claims to be for."

"Yass, queen! Slay!" shouted her fans at the press conference as she finally managed to rip the Bible up. "You're my president!"

In a genius move, Trump then held up a Koran in front of a mosque, forcing Pelosi to tear up a Koran and alienate the left.

Autopsy report shows Floyd had tested positive for COVID-19
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A full autopsy of George Floyd, the handcuffed black man who died after being restrained by Minneapolis police, was released Wednesday and provides several clinical details, including that Floyd had previously tested positive for COVID-19.

The 20-page report released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office came with the family’s permission and after the coroner’s office released summary findings Monday that Floyd had a heart attack while being restrained by officers, and classified his May 25 death as a homicide.

Bystander video showing Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin pressing his knee on Floyd’s neck, ignoring Floyd’s "I can’t breathe" cries until he eventually stopped moving, has sparked nationwide protests, some violent.

The report by Chief Medical Examiner Andrew Baker spelled out clinical details, including that Floyd had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 3 but appeared asymptomatic. The report also noted Floyd’s lungs appeared healthy but he had some narrowing of arteries in the heart.

The county’s earlier summary report had listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use under "other significant conditions" but not under "cause of death." The full report’s footnotes noted that signs of fentanyl toxicity can include "severe respiratory depression" and seizures.

#1  The county’s earlier summary report had listed fentanyl intoxication and recent methamphetamine use under "other significant conditions" but not under "cause of death."

Might have explained his removal/exit from the squad car. Having a drug related fit and kicking the windows out could have resulted in the police removing him from the vehicle or Floyd lunging out on his own.

Pre-existing medical conditions led to, or contributed to his untimely death? A murder conviction is likely going to be very difficult.

-War on Police-
The Myth of Systemic Police Racism
[WSJ via Manhatten Institute] George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis has revived the Obama-era narrative that law enforcement is endemically racist. On Friday, Barack Obama tweeted that for millions of black Americans, being treated differently by the criminal justice system on account of race is "tragically, painfully, maddeningly ’normal.’ " Mr. Obama called on the police and the public to create a "new normal," in which bigotry no longer "infects our institutions and our hearts."

Joe Biden released a video the same day in which he asserted that all African-Americans fear for their safety from "bad police" and black children must be instructed to tolerate police abuse just so they can "make it home." That echoed a claim Mr. Obama made after the ambush murder of five Dallas officers in July 2016. During their memorial service, the president said African-American parents were right to fear that their children may be killed by police officers whenever they go outside.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz denounced the "stain . . . of fundamental, institutional racism" on law enforcement during a Friday press conference. He claimed blacks were right to dismiss promises of police reform as empty verbiage.

#8  We had good and improving race relations under Bill Clinton and W.

They went downhill after 2009 and then went to hell in Obama's second term.

The pattern mirrors what happened between Eisenhowers presidency and LBJ's: left-lib presidents (unlike Bill Clinton) encourage grievances and raise expectations among young urban blacks to unrealistic levels.

Then a highly-publicized urban violence incident triggers these grievances and turns resentment and disappointment into violence. Then the left-lib president pours gas on the flames by pandering, as LBJ did after the 1965 riots and Obama did after 2013.

If any national leader bears responsibility for the anarchic violence we're now seeing, it's Pres. Trayvon-Coulda-Been-My-Son.

Economy
Protests Are Raging in America's Biggest Cities. So Why Is the Stock Market up?
[Money] America seems like it’s on the verge of collapse. But not the stock market.

On Monday, as cities around the U.S. grappled with clashes between racial justice protesters and police, and looting went all but unchecked, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 92 points. Tuesday it was up another 150 points in midday trading to 25,630, the highest point since mid-March.

The stock market’s placid reaction may seem incongruous at a time when, to anyone watching cable news or reading a newspaper, the U.S. appears to be in the middle of national emergency .

But while the stock market can at times seem like a daily national temperature gauge, investors (many of whom, it’s worth noting, aren’t American) don’t necessarily think the way the rest of us do.

With the caveat that no one knows exactly why the market does what it does, here’s why investors are likely ignoring the turmoil on U.S. streets.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
The Controlled Burn Rages out of Control
[Real Clear Politics] In the wake of riots that have spread across America, leaving shattered businesses and wounded communities in their wake, it feels as though our nation is collapsing around us. That's bizarre, considering that virtually all Americans agree with the following two propositions: first, that it is evil for a police officer to place his knee on the neck of a prone suspect struggling to breathe for eight long minutes; second, that breaking store windows; stealing televisions and shoes; beating business owners; and attacking police officers is wrong. That seeming unanimity should mean unity in the face of police brutality and rioting and looting.

It doesn't.

It doesn't because members of our political class have decided that instead of rallying against obvious evil, Americans must be categorized as enlightened or benighted based on their answer to one question: Was America and is America rooted in racism and bigotry? If you answer in the negative, you are complicit in racism and bigotry, say our media, academic leaders and high-ranking members of the Democratic Party. If you answer in the affirmative, you may be categorized among the woke, the aware, the sensitive and the decent.

This is a nonsensical and dangerous game. But it's a game pressed forward by the most powerful messaging institutions in our society: our media, who award Pulitzer Prizes to faux history like The 1619 Project, which argues that every American institution has been fatally corrupted by America's original sin, slavery, and that every inequality of today can find its root in inequities of the past; our celebrities, who proudly proclaim that rights to free speech, property ownership and due process are merely facades for the continuing and malign maintenance of structural inequalities; and too many of our politicians, who casually attribute every instance of police brutality to deep-seated American racism.

#5  The George Floyd killing was being handled and justice would have played out if allowed to happen. This was not enough for the radical left and DS operators. Peaceful protests would have been O.K. but these got hijacked by violent left-wing black shirted thugs and criminals. These out-of-control mobs are as angering as much as seeing the Minneapolis police officers abuse their power with Floyd. The Dems are promoting and exploiting this situation to the maximum. Most likely there is left-wing and Dem money financing these puppet mobs. These things don't happen just spontaneously. I hope the voters remember these mob scenes at election time when mobs were beating up and in some case killing citizens, burning and looting, threatening the peace and depriving citizens of their rights.

The left is going to keep pushing for power up to election time. The country is in for a rough ride.

#8  Why don't we hear of similar stuff in Brazil?

1) Our idiot media doesn't care about anything that can't somehow be framed with the Woke Narrative, so Americans don't know how incredibly violent and anarchic are Sao Oaolo, Rio, etc.

2) Brazil's elite and its middle classes are terrified of the constant roiling of anarchic violence in the favelas that are interspersed with most urban neighborhoods in that country and are willing to countenance extreme brutality to keep it in check.

We will be there too if this kak is not suppressed with overwhelming force soon.

The alternative model is post-riots Detroit: the northern cities completely hollowed out, with all law-abiding people with means having fled to the 'burbs or gone South.

James Mattis Denounces President Trump, Describes Him as a Threat to the Constitution
[Atlantic] James Mattis, the esteemed Marine general who resigned as secretary of defense in December 2018 to protest Donald Trump’s Syria policy, has, ever since, kept studiously silent about Trump’s performance as president. But he has now broken his silence, writing an extraordinary broadside in which he denounces the president for dividing the nation, and accuses him of ordering the U.S. military to violate the constitutional rights of American citizens.
Perhaps the general would care to comment on, or explain the dynamic of the highly successful Trump rally.
"I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled," Mattis writes. "The words ’Equal Justice Under Law’ are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation." He goes on, "We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution."

This article contains a comlete transcript.

If he denounces the Commander in Chief who was/is elected by the people, he also denounces his oath of allegiance. Perhaps it is time for the general to find residence elsewhere.

It would appear that millions of American voters and hundreds of thousands of Trump political rally attendees disagree with the general's assessment.

The Deep State cadre would rather have you concentrate on the external threat, the Russian hoax, China virus, etc. The 'internal threat' is the Deep State's private playground.

#32  In the old days the best choices available on the Republican side were the country club lot we no longer support. But starting with the TEA Party years, the conservative Republican bench has grown deeper, broader, and younger, year after year. If Donald Trump is not reelected, we have plenty of others to choose from in 2022 and 2024, and they’ve seen how to fight effectively against Progressive games as well as the necessity of rooting out the Deep State.

The Democratic Party, much as they like to think of themselves as cutting edge revolutionaries, are actually the party of the elderly reactionaries, loudly and proudly demanding programs first proposed a century or more ago. “Learn to code,” they say to those who have lost jobs, because that is something they are not capable of, nor interested in, doing themselves, Meanwhile, all the Progressive coders at Facebook and Google and such have plenty of money with which to buy politicians, but completely lack the skills and outlook necessary to become politicians themselves. All they can become is Antifa, which doesn’t get them into the halls of power.

Former Obama Intelligence Official Helps Secure Bail for Molotov Cocktail-Throwing NYC Lawyer
[Free Beacon] A former Obama administration intelligence official who worked in both the Departments of State and Defense has guaranteed bail for a human rights lawyer accused of firebombing a police vehicle in New York City.

The former official, Salmah Rizvi, told a judge the alleged firebomber is her "best friend." Rizvi, now an attorney at the D.C.-based law firm Ropes & Gray, helped secure the release of fellow lawyer Urooj Rahman by agreeing to be a suretor for her bail. That means Rizvi is liable for the full cost of the $250,000 bail if Rahman fails to obey the court's orders.

Rahman was released to home confinement over the objections of government attorneys after her arrest on Saturday for throwing a lit Molotov cocktail through the window of an NYPD vehicle. Evidence presented by prosecutors included images of Rahman holding a Molotov cocktail in the passenger seat of a van that was later found to be full of the necessary materials for making the explosive devices.

U.S. District Judge Margo Brodie acknowledged the strong evidence against Rahman, who was also accused of distributing the incendiary devices to other rioters, but agreed to grant her bail due to the "willingness of family and friends to sign on as suretors," according to a report from Law360.

Rizvi appeared in front of the court during Rahman's Monday arraignment to certify her willingness to guarantee Rahman's bail, according to a transcript of the proceedings obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. "Urooj Rahman is my best friend and I am an associate at the law firm Ropes & Gray in Washington, D.C.," Rizvi told the court. "I earn $255,000 a year."

Neither Rizvi nor Ropes & Gray responded to requests for comment.

Her high-value work would often inform the President’s Daily Briefs.

Science & Technology
TheSpace Age is making a comeback, but it's cheaper this time with SpaceX.
Puppy-blender in USA Today
Though the news is filled with stories of riots and a pandemic, the most transformative things going on at present are in a totally different sphere. One of those things is pretty obvious, the other less so.

The obvious transformation involves SpaceX’s successful launch of a human crew into orbit, the first such launch involving an American spacecraft in nearly a decade, and the first such launch ever by a commercial spacecraft.
D. D. Harriman to the white courtesy phone
This is huge, but in a sense, nothing new: We were launching people into orbit over 50 years ago, after all. SpaceX’s Crew Dragon capsule is bigger and fancier than a Gemini, but the mission profile is not all that different. And of course, our last mission to orbit, on board a space shuttle, was basically old hat itself.

But SpaceX is doing it for much less, and that’s revolutionary. To get a kilogram into orbit on the space shuttle costs $54,500. To do the same thing with SpaceX’s newest rocket, the Falcon 9, costs $2,720. That’s basically a twenty-fold reduction in cost.

Lots of things that are too expensive to do at $54,500 become doable at $2,720. And SpaceX isn’t standing still. Its Starship reusable rocket, under development now, is to cost a mere $2 million per launch, and Elon Musk says its cost per kilogram to orbit will be at least 10 times lower than the Falcon 9. There are a lot more things that become doable at $272 per kilogram. At those prices, things like space tourism, space hotels, lunar mines and asteroid mining become feasible.
Unless, of course, commercial space companies will be subject to affirmative action quotas.

At least 39 injured in knife attack at China kindergarten
[Ynet] A school security guard injured at least 39 people in a knife attack at a kindergarten in southern China on Thursday morning, state media reported. The motive remains unknown.

The local government in the Guangxi region's Cangwu county said 37 students and two adults suffered injuries of varying degrees in the attack.

Chinese state media identified the attacker as a security guard at the school surnamed Li. The suspect had been detained while an investigation was underway, they said.
People frustrated with unresponsive government or feeling suicidal regularly run amok attacking all they can reach in Communist China.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Finally: NYPD Terror expert confirms multi-state unnamed groups planned protest violence in advance
[NBCNewYork] New York's top terrorism official says there's evidence that members of anarchist groups from outside the city intentionally planned to incite violence at protests calling for justice in the death of George Floyd.

Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence and Counterterrorism John Miller said there is a high level of confidence within the NYPD that these unnamed groups had organized scouts, medics, and supply routes of rocks, bottles and accelerants for breakaway groups to commit vandalism and violence. There are strong indicators they planned for violence in advance using at times encrypted communications, he said.

One out of every seven arrests, of 686 so far since May 28, has been people from out of state, according to Miller. He said those arrested came from Massachusettes, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Iowa, Nevada, Virginia, Maryland, Texas and St. Paul, Minnesota.

On Saturday, Commissioner Shea had estimated at least 20 percent of protesters arrested Friday night were from out of town.

The fact remains that the majority of those arrested were locals. Some like Mayor de Blasio's daughter were arrested for "unlawful assembly," and others were arrested for acts of violence.

"Before the protests began, organizers of certain anarchists groups set out to raise bail money and people who would be responsible to be raising bail money, they set out to recruit medics and medical teams with gear to deploy in anticipation of violent interactions with police," Miller said.

He added, "They prepared to commit property damage and directed people who were following them that this should be done selectively and only in wealthier areas or at high-end stores run by corporate entities."

Without specifying who "they" are, Miller said the agitators "developed a complex network of bicycle scouts to move ahead of demonstrators in different directions of where police were and where police were not for purposes of being able to direct groups from the larger group to places where they could commit acts of vandalism including the torching of police vehicles and Molotov cocktails where they thought officers would not be."

Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday morning that the members of the anarchist movement plan together online and that "they have explicit rules, and we're going to make all this information available today and in the days ahead."

Among the out-of-area instigators were two sisters from upstate New York. They were detained after one threw a Molotov cocktail at a police van. The woman who threw the Molotov cocktail will face federal charges from prosecutors in Brooklyn, law enforcement source said.

#6  Re my parsing /rephrasing of the headline, there's so much to choose from...

Ask yourself how this group are different from the 1970s-era Irish Relublican Army - which would make the Soros-supported pols and DAs the equivalent of Sinn Fein:

1) National coordination ("came from Massachusettes, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Iowa, Nevada, Virginia, Maryland, Texas and St. Paul, Minnesota")

2) Concerted, advanced planning with careful communications ("strong indicators they planned for violence in advance using at times encrypted communications")

3) Specialized roles, support functions, materiel, and supply chain/logistics ("groups had organized scouts, medics, and supply routes of rocks, bottles and accelerants for breakaway groups to commit vandalism and violence"

4) Financial and medical support networks ("Before the protests began, organizers of certain anarchists groups set out to raise bail money and people who would be responsible to be raising bail money, they set out to recruit medics and medical teams with gear to deploy in anticipation of violent interactions with police")

5) Carefully-chosen strategic targets ("[they] directed people who were following them that this should be done selectively and only in wealthier areas or at high-end stores run by corporate entities")

In sum, the IRA's goal was to create mayhem, kill Protestants, cripple the Ulster authorities and force the British to abandon Northern Ireland. Thatcher was their bete noire.

Substitute White America for Protestants, the police for the British and Trump for Thatcher and it's a pretty clean analogy.

Oh, and The Troubles lasted over three decades...

Britain
Boris Johnson offers 3 mln Hong Kong residents UK citizenship if China passes new law
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Prime Minister Boris Johnson
...pro-Brexit British prime minister, succeeding no-Brexit Theresa May. BoJo is noted as much for his sparkling personality and his hair as for his Conservative policies....
said he will give as many as three million Hong Kong residents the chance to seek refuge and a new life in the UK if China presses ahead with plans to impose a new security law on the former British colony.

The premier’s intervention marks an escalation in London’s pressure on Beijing over its proposals for a law that democracy advocates say will erode the rights and freedoms of the people of Hong Kong.

"Many people in Hong Kong fear their way of life, which China pledged to uphold, is under threat," Johnson wrote in an article published in The Times of London newspaper. "If China proceeds to justify their fears, then Britannia could not in good conscience shrug our shoulders and walk away; instead we will honor our obligations and provide an alternative."

The Chinese government said Johnson’s comments amounted to foreign interference in internal affairs.

The offer of a path to citizenship, first made by Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab last week, had already provoked a stern response from China. While Johnson’s proposal is unlikely to influence Beijing to change its position, a point British officials accept, it will be broadly popular among his Conservative Party colleagues who are increasingly hostile toward China.

Johnson’s government says a re-set of relations with Beijing will be necessary in the aftermath of the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
pandemic and officials are re-examining whether to go ahead with Chinese telecoms giant Huawei Technologies Co. as a provider of equipment for Britannia’s next generation mobile networks.

Over 400 NYC Looters to Be Freed from Jail Thanks to ‘Bail Reform’ Policy
[BREITBART] More than 400 looters arrested in New York City, New York, riots this week will be immediately freed from jail thanks to Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo’s (D-NY) "bail reform" policy that eliminated bail for many nonviolent and violent crimes.

As riots rage on in New York City — and Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio
...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. Corrupt and incompetent, his qualifications for office seem to consist of being married to a black woman, with whom he honeymooned in Cuba. He has a preppy-looking son named Dante, whose Divine Comedy involved getting his back hair up when a police car drove past him slowly. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him...
has refused to deploy the U.S. National Guard — hundreds of looters arrested for burglarizing shops and stores are set to be immediately freed back onto the streets.

The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

noted that more than 400 people in New York City have been arrested for looting commercial businesses. Almost all of them will likely be released from jail immediately after their arraignments in court.

Cuomo’s bail reform law, implemented at the beginning of the year, eliminated bail for a number of nonviolent and violent crimes — including for suspects accused of second-degree manslaughter, aggravated vehicular assault, third-degree assault, promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, criminally negligent homicide, aggravated vehicular homicide, and about 100 other crimes.

U.S. victims of 1998 embassy bombings push for concluding settlement deal with Sudan
[Sudan Tribune] The families of American victims of the 1998 twin embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania are throwing their full support behind a proposed settlement agreement with Sudan that would lead to more than $300 million payout in return for ending the pending lawsuits and removing the country from the US list of states that sponsor terrorism.

The blast on August 7, 1998 at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, killed more than 200 people. Kenyan security guards keep watch on August 8, 1998, at the scene of explosion.
"As a longtime advocate and spokesperson for the families of the 12 Americans killed in these bombings, I am speaking publicly to support the administration’s diplomatic efforts to reach an agreement with Sudan’s new government to resolve all of the claims we and others — Americans, Tanzanians and Kenyans — have pursued in court in the years since the attacks," Edith Bartley wrote in the Washington Post.

"The search for justice is very personal to me. My father, Julian L. Bartley, the first African American consul general to serve our country in Kenya, was a highly respected career diplomat. My younger brother, Julian L. Bartley Jr., was a college student and summer intern at the Nairobi embassy. Both were killed in the terrorist attack. This was an unimaginable loss to me and my mother as my father and brother were half of my immediate family".

U.S. courts held Sudan legally liable for the bombings because it hosted al-Qaeda Lions of Islam in the 1990’s who carried out the attacks.

Last month the U.S. Supreme Court revived the possibility of collecting $4.3 billion in punitive damage claims from Sudan on the embassy bombings on top of another $6 billion awarded previously. It also refused an appeal by Sudan to review the lower court rulings on its responsibility for the bombings and the liability it poses.

Home Front: Politix
Rosenstein says he wouldn’t approve Russia warrant now
[APNEWS] Former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein told lawmakers Wednesday that he would not have approved an FBI surveillance application for a former Trump campaign aide during the Russia investigation had he known at the time about the problems that have since been revealed.
But he did approve it then, the consequential results including political sliming of innocent men, personal bankruptcies of victims, and inflaming political passions to the detriment of the nation as a whole. Prince Johnson is really sorry he videotaped Samuel Doe being tortured and castrated. He's a preacher now, and reformed. Samuel Doe, on the other hand, remains deader than Tut, and his agonies can't be undone.
Rosenstein’s comments amounted to a striking concession that law enforcement officials made mistakes as they scrutinized ties between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Motive is key. If you do things on purpose they're not "mistakes." If they had been mistakes nothing would have happened after a short initial investigation.
But even as he acknowledged the legitimacy of anger from Trump and his allies, he defended his appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to lead the probe and affirmed his support for the conclusion that Russia interfered but did not criminally conspire with associates of the Trump campaign.
If Russian "interference" was confined to phony Facebook accounts and a bunch of bots, what was the need for a special prosecutor targeting the Trump administration? Why was Mueller given carte blanche?
“I do not consider the investigation to be corrupt,
That's a rose colored view. It was corrupt on its face, and now the facts are out to back up that statement.
but I understand the president’s frustration given the outcome that there was no evidence” of a conspiracy between the campaign and Russia, Rosenstein said.
Golly. I'll bet Trump also recognizes the frustrations of Adam Schiff, San Fran Nan, and Jerry Nadler.
His appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee was for the first in a series of oversight hearings scrutinizing the FBI’s Russia investigation and the law enforcement officials involved. With subpoena authority expected to be granted this week, the hearing served as the opening salvo of the GOP’s election-year congressional investigation into what they say are damaging findings about the Russia probe from an inspector general review.
What went around is what's coming around, y'say?
The president’s allies have taken fresh aim at the Russia investigation over the last year, pointing to newly declassified information to allege that Trump and his associates were unfairly pursued. They have also claimed vindication from the Justice Department’s decision to dismiss the case against ex-national security adviser Michael Flynn and at times advanced unsupported theories against Obama administration officials.
Umm... Three words there: "January Fifth Meeting."
“We’re going to look backward so we can move forward,” committee chairman Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in explaining the purpose for the hearings. “If you don’t like Trump, fine, but this is not about Trump or not liking Trump. This is about moving forward as a nation.”
Damage is done. Time to sift through the wreckage.
Graham also questioned whether Mueller should have been appointed at all. Rosenstein said he believed there was a sufficient basis for the investigation when he appointed Mueller in May 2017, but when Graham asked if he would agree that by that August, there was “no there there,” Rosenstein said yes.
May 2017 was five months into the administration. If I recall correctly, the calls for impeachment started coming a month before Trump was inaugurated.
Democrats lamented the hearing’s politically charged and retrospective nature, saying Republicans were attempting to refocus attention away from more urgent problems, including unrest in cities set off by the death of George Floyd and the coronavirus pandemic.
"Let's just Move On®. It's all in the past. We were all so much younger then!"
“This hearing wastes this committee’s time in a blatant effort to support the president’s conspiracy theories and to help the president’s reelection,” said Democratic Sen. Mazie 'We Democrats know so much that we tend to alienate voters' Hirono of Hawaii.
Good to hear from the Sage of Honolulu. I don't recall her wanting to concentrate on problems of the moment during the patently biased witch hunts, the targeted events of which were coincidentally in the past when the fishing expedition began.
The hearing delved into detail in two areas that Trump allies have recently seized on to challenge the conduct of law enforcement.
Law enforcement has no place in politix, regardless of anyone's personal opinions. Law enforcement's job is to umm... enforce the laws.
Rosenstein was pressed repeatedly about his decision to sign off on the fourth and final application for a warrant to eavesdrop on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page on suspicion that he was a Russian agent.
That's Carter Page, the sometime FBI asset...
Page has denied wrongdoing and was never charged with a crime, and a Justice Department inspector general report identified significant errors and omissions in each of the applications submitted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
Just little details that an assistant attorney general couldn't be expected to catch.
The watchdog said the FBI relied in part for its applications on a dossier of information compiled by a former British spy whose research was funded by Democrats and the Hillary Clinton campaign. The FBI used the dossier even though agents were aware of the possibility that it could have been colored by Russian disinformation and omitted information that called into question allegations they were making in the application.
Nobody thought the idea of Trump hiring hookers to pee on the bed Obama had slept in was umm... out of line? Unlikely?
Asked by Graham if he would have signed the warrant application knowing what he knows now, Rosenstein replied, “No, I would not.”

Russian, Syrian warplanes strike foreign jihadists in Hama, Latakia

Last night and earlier this morning, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF), alongside their Russian counterparts, carried out a half dozen Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s over the Latakia and Hama governorates.

According to a field source, the Syrian Air Force was responsible for the attack on the foreign jihadist positions in the key town of Kabani, while both air forces launched strikes on the northern part of the al-Ghaab Plain region.

The source stated that the airstrikes primarily targeted the positions of the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP)
...that’s the Uighurs...

Turkey’s reluctance has caused some friction in northwestern Syria, as both the Russian and Syrian armed forces believe these foreign jihadist groups should have no future in the country’s political settlement.

[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
group reacted to the latest UN report which confirms that the group has maintained links with the Al Qaeda terrorist network despite signing a peace deal with the United States.

Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban group, in a statement said the Islamic Emirate strongly rejects the details of the report as the group is strictly committed in implementing the peace deal with the United States which the UN Security Council approved.

The statement further added that no divisions exist among Taliban ranks as the Death Eaters of the group strictly follow the decisions of their elders and observing the recent ceasefire is a testimony to it.

Furthermore, the statement added that the Islamic Emirate is committed not to allow anyone to use the soil of Afghanistan against the countries or establish training camps inside Afghanistan.

According to Mujahid, the recent report has been published with an aim to jeopardize and fail the recently signed peace deal between Taliban and the United States.

This comes as the United Nations

US court rules Syria and Iran are liable for Palestinian attacks against Israel
[ALMASDARNEWS] A U.S. court has allegedly ruled that Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and Syria are liable for Paleostinian attacks against Israelis, including the killing of a U.S. Army veteran, Israel Hayom reported on Wednesday.

According to the publication, Judge Randolph D. Moss of the U.S. District Court of Washington D.C. ruled that Syria and Iran were responsible for damages caused by their "material support" to Paleostinian groups like Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
(PIJ).

The publication said the total amount of damages has not yet been determined, but the court has named Syria, Iran, and the Iranian Ministry of Information of Security as defendants in the civil case.

Both Syria and Iran have trained Paleostinian groups for years, despite a rift between the Syrian Arab Republic and Hamas in 2012.

Several Paleostinian groups continue to operate inside of Syria, with arguably one of the largest training camps located in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

#1  What’s the difference between 2nd degree murder and 3rd degree?

Fahrenheit vs Kelvin.

Not a lawyer, but near as I can tell, in Minnesota 1st degree murder is premeditated, 2nd degree is you did it on a whim, and 3rd degree is felony murder - someone died while you were busy being felonious.

#3  He's got a problem. Overcharge and the guy might be acquitted because you can't show what makes this murder one or two. Charge low to make sure you get a guilty verdict and you're going easy on Chauvin and the others.
The other problem is, according to NBC, this knee resraint has been taught by MPD. Used 200 times in the last five years and this is the first fatality.
What if the defense is...I was doing what I was told and trained to do and nobody else has been sanctioned over it. How was I supposed to know the drugs and heart issues would kill him? Never happened before? None of my trainers told me.
MPD looks really bad as do all the layers of government way back to the last republican mayor.

Gov’ts and WHO changed Covid-19 hydroxychloroquine policy based on fake data
[The Guardian] Surgisphere, whose employees appear to include a sci-fi writer and adult content model, provided database behind Lancet and New England Journal of Medicine hydroxychloroquine studies.

An independent audit of the provenance and validity of the data has now been commissioned by the authors of the Lancet and NEJM studies not affiliated with Surgisphere because of "concerns that have been raised about the reliability of the database".
The World Health Organization and a number of national governments have changed their Covid-19 policies and treatments on the basis of flawed data from a little-known US healthcare analytics company, also calling into question the integrity of key studies published in some of the world’s most prestigious medical journals.

A Guardian investigation can reveal the US-based company Surgisphere, whose handful of employees appear to include a science fiction writer and an adult-content model, has provided data for multiple studies on Covid-19 co-authored by its chief executive, but has so far failed to adequately explain its data or methodology.

Families of Karachi plane crash victims given Rs1 million ($6100) each: PIA
[The News (Pak)] A Pakistain International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson on Wednesday said it said the company had started to pay compensation to the families of the Bloody Karachi

plane crash victims, reported Geo News. The spokesperson said families of 82 victims of the ill-fated flight have been given Rs1 million (Pak rupee=$.0061) while the two girls who were maimed in the plane crash have been provided Rs500,000 each.

PIA flight PK-8303 suffered a tragic air crash in Karachi last month, killing 97 people on board while two passengers survived miraculously.

During the ill-fated flight, the pilots made a first landing attempt and the plane briefly touched the ground multiple times, before attempting to land for a second time.

Separately, the federal government last month had announced it would bear the expenses to compensate Model Colony residents whose houses and cars were damaged when the plane crashed inside the locality.

The PK-8303 tragedy has become the third most-catastrophic aviation disaster in the country's history.

#5  Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova

Former Obama administration national security adviser Susan Rice suggested in an interview (CNN) Sunday that the Russians could be behind the violent nationwide demonstrations following the in-custody death of George Floyd.

I did not believe it until i saw the interview. And now I want to react.

Dear Suzan Rice,

Some time ago your party colleagues made a fatal mistake when they decided to blame absolutely everything that was not to their liking on Russia. Hillary Clinton and the Obama team convinced themselves and tried to convince the world that the domestic problems in the United States were created and encouraged by an external force: Russia.

You are repeating this mistake today together with a CNN reporter, using dirty methods of information manipulation, such as fake news and absolutely no facts to prove your allegation. Your interview with CNN is a perfect example of barefaced propaganda.
I would like to remind you that the social media, which you believe are being used by Russian agents to fuel protests in American cities, were registered in the United States, belong to Americans and are regulated by American laws.

Are you trying to play the Russia card again? You have been playing too long; please, come back to reality. Go out and face your people, look them in the eye and try telling them that they are being controlled by the Russians through YouTube and Facebook. And I will sit back and watch “American exceptionalism” in action.

Not Yours,
Maria Zakharova, Russian MFA’s spokeswoman

Civil Unrest Was Inevitable - Here's How It Will Be Exploited To Bring In Tyranny
[Alt-Market] Mass civil unrest is a cumbersome weapon for societal change; like an oversized caveman club made of oak. You can barely swing it, and when you do you might destroy an enemy with it but you could also unwittingly destroy innocent people at the same time. Once the weapon is in motion adjusting its direction or momentum becomes difficult.

I prefer the scalpel approach - Find the cancer and cut it out directly, rather than bashing at the whole body just to get at one tumor.

Another problem with protests and riots is that they often have no discernible goals, or they lose track of their goals almost immediately. When the initial protests started, they targeted the police precinct in Minneapolis which was home to the officers that killed George Floyd. In my view this was perfectly acceptable. At this stage a majority of Americans were on their side. Many conservatives and law enforcement officers even came out in support of these measures and admonished the actions that violated common police procedure and led to unnecessary death.

Miller announced his resignation in a sanctimonious Washington Post op-ed entitled "A letter to Defense Secretary Mark Esper," insisting Defense Secretary Mark Esper "violated" his oath to "support and defend the Constitution" by participating in President Trump’s removal of protestors from the park adjacent to the White House so he could visit St. John’s Episcopal Church, recently set ablaze by rioters.

More than 20 shot over 12 hours in Chicago as gun violence remains high for second week
[Chicago Tribune] More than 20 people were shot in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel...
over 12 hours Tuesday through early Wednesday as gun violence remains high across the city for the second week in a row.

In two of the overnight shootings — on the Far South Side and South Side — three or more people were maimed, according to police.

Shootings started spiking in Chicago over the long Memorial Day weekend, when at least 50 people were shot. The next day, 28 more people were shot, including a 5-year-old girl standing with her family.

Last weekend, as looting and disturbances spread across the city, more than 80 people were shot, nearly 20 of them fatally. At least 15 of the fatal shootings occurred Sunday, requiring the Cook County medical examiner’s office to call in extra pathologists to conduct autopsies.

Mawlavi Mohammad Ali Jan Ahmad has told the publication that Akhundzada is sick but is recovering.

On the other hand, three Taliban figures who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told the Foreign Policy that Akhundzada died while receiving treatment.

The Taliban group has not officially commented in this regard so far.

Meanwhile,
...back at the wrecked scow, a single surviver held tightly to the smashed prow...
unconfirmed reports indicate that Mullah Yaqoob, the son of Mullah Mohammad Omar has has been appointed as the interim leader of the group.

This comes as reports emerged earlier last month suggesting that Mullah Yaqoob has been appointed as the military chief of the group following a reshuffle in the top leadership of the Taliban.

8-year-old domestic worker killed by employers in Rawalpindi for setting birds free
[The News (Pak)] A minor maid was tortured to death by her employers on Tuesday for setting birds free while cleaning the cages.

According to reports, the eight-year-old, who hailed from Muzaffargarh, was hired to look after the child of a man identified as Hassan Siddiqui who worked in buying and selling birds and property.

Police officials told The Independent, Siddiqui confessed that he and his wife beat up the girl, who was working for them as a maid, in a fit of rage.

"[The] maid was cleaning the cage when she inadvertently let the two parrots free," a spokesperson said. "Hassan and his wife got infuriated and brutally beat the maid."

The publication further said the girl was brought to a private hospital on May 31 in an unconscious state and was kept on a ventilator in the ICU but died the next day.

Siddiqui, who had brought the girl to the hospital, had disappeared. However,
death is not the end. There remains the litigation over the estate...
he was later arrested along with his wife, according to a police report.

The hospital in its medical report said the minor had, "torture marks on her cheek, ribs and thighs." Her body bore older bruises that had still not fully healed. The report also added that she had injury marks in areas suggesting possible rape.

Pakistan slams extrajudicial killing of 13 Kashmiris by Indian troops
[The News (Pak)] Pakistain slams the extrajudicial killing of 13 Kashmiris in a single day by Indian troops in Indian-occupied Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.

The ministry said Pakistain was deeply concerned over unabated extrajudicial killings of Kashmiri youth in fake encounters and so-called "anti-infiltration" operations.

"While the international community is preoccupied with fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, India is busy intensifying its brutalisation of the Kashmiri people," it said, adding that the killing of the Kashmiris speaks volumes about Indian government’s continuing crimes against humanity.

"To hide these crimes, the Indian authorities use the oft-repeated, unsubstantiated allegations of 'training' and 'infiltration' of Kashmiri resistance fighters," the Foreign Office said. "India must realise that its malicious propaganda carries no credibility with the international community. The RSS-BJP combine stands exposed before the world for its illegal and inhuman actions and krazed killer ’Hindutva’ agenda."

The Foreign Office added, "India must realise that neither can its brutalisation break the will of the Kashmiri people nor can its anti-Pakistain propaganda divert attention from India’s state-terrorism and egregious violations of human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
in occupied Kashmir."

The new government will have 16 ministries, with seven of them nominated by the LDK, four by Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), two by Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), two by Serb List, and one by the Ottoman Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo.

There will also be four deputy prime ministers, each representing the coalition partners LDK, AAK, NISMA and Serb List.

By securing the lowest possible number of votes in the 120-seat parliament, Hoti replaces Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, whom the LDK party overthrew with a no-confidence vote in late March when it was part of Kurti's coalition government.

Teen involved in Tessa Majors slaying pleads guilty to robbery
Thus fulfilling yesterday’s expectation.
[NYPOST] A teen involved in the slaying of Barnard College student Tessa Majors has pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and faces up to 18 months in detention.

Zyairr Davis, 14 — who was charged with murder — copped to the robbery and admitted he helped two pals in the botched mugging of the 18-year-old college freshman in Morningside Park on Dec. 11.

Davis admitted passing a knife to Rashaun Weaver, 15, that Weaver allegedly used to fatally stab Majors — as Luchiano Lewis, 15, allegedly held Majors in a headlock.

From a video call, Davis admitted to a Family Court judge Wednesday, "I was in Manhattan with Rashaun and Hoshie, we went to the park" — apparently referring to Lewis as "Hoshie."

"We went to rob someone in the park. We saw Tessa Majors on the stairs. I picked up the knife and handed it to Rashaun," a fidgety Davis mumbled into the camera.

"Rashaun went over and said something to Tessa Majors on the stairs. After that he stabbed her in the chest. She started yelling for help," he continued.

"Rashaun and I followed her up the stairs. Rashaun used the knife I handed him and stabbed Tessa Majors. I saw blood and feathers coming out of her coat," Davis said.

With the plea, Davis faces up to 18 months in detention at his June 15 sentencing. Davis will get credit for the time he’s already been in jug since his December arrest.

ISPR chief says Pakistan to respond with full might to any of India's misadventures
[The News (Pak)] Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar on Wednesday warned India that Pakistain will respond with full might to any misadventure and that it should "not play with fire".

Talking to Geo News anchorperson Hamid Mir on "Capital Talk", the military spokesperson said Pakistain is ready for any military adventurism and there will be "uncontrollable and unintended consequences".

Maj Gen Iftikhar said the Pakistain army's capability was demonstrated in its response last year. "Do not play with fire," he warned the Indian side.

He also rejected the Indian allegations of so-called launchpads and said UN military observers are free to go anywhere here but India has never allowed international media and observers on its side of the border.

"Things can become clear if the Indian side also allows access to the UN military observer group."

The ISPR chief said the situation at the Line of Control is very serious where seven civilians have embraced martyrdom in unprovoked firing by Indian forces this year alone.

George Floyd autopsy: Floyd died from heart attack, was coronavirus positive at time of death
Another CoVid19 Victim or WTF? Ima confused? The Baden autopsy differs
[10 News] An autopsy released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner on Wednesday show that George Floyd officially died from a heart attack. The autopsy also indicated he was positive for the coronavirus based on a postmortem nasal swab collected after his death.

Floyd died on Memorial Day after then Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin held a knee to Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes, likely causing his death. Chauvin has been charged with homicide, and three other officers have been charged with aiding and abetting a homicide.

The Medical Examiner said on Monday that the cause of death was a homicide experienced while suffering from a heart attack while be restrained.

The medical examiner, Dr. Andrew Baker, concluded that Floyd died of a heart attack complicated by restrained and compressed by the neck.

The autopsy showed that Floyd had tested positive for the coronavirus on April 3. The report said that the autopsy result likely reflects an asymptomatic but persistent infection from the virus.

The autopsy also showed that Floyd had a number blunt-force injuries, including to the shoulders, hands, elbows and legs. The report indicated a number of contusions to the head and neck, the report shows.

While the autopsy indicated several blunt-force injuries, the examiner said that there were no life-threatening injuries identified.

The report noted that Floyd had hypertensive heart disease.

It also indicated that Floyd had fentanyl and methamphetamines in his system at the time of death.
Goodness. It’s a wonder he stayed alive long enough to be killed.

Pregnant elephant dies after being fed pineapple filled with explosives
[NYPOST] Indian wildlife officials are mourning the death of a pregnant wild elephant in Kerala, India, who reportedly died after being fed a firecracker-filled pineapple by an unknown assailant.

"Her jaw was broken and she was unable to eat after she chewed the pineapple and it went kaboom! in her mouth," says chief wildlife warden Surendra Kumar. The outraged official tells local media he’s certain the tampered-with pineapple was meant to kill the animal, reports the Tribune India.

The ill-intentioned feeding reportedly occurred in a remote valley in Attappadi, a forest in southern India, where the 15-year-old elephant had entered a village to forage for food last month, reports the Quint. The beast died a while later in a Malappuram district river, according to a heartbreaking Facebook post by wildlife official Mohan Krishnan, who wasn’t able to rescue her.

"When we saw her she was standing in the river, with her head dipped in the water," writes the bereaved ranger. "She had a sixth sense that she was going to die."

An autopsy revealed that the animal was pregnant at the time of her tragic death.

It’s unknown who committed the vile crime. However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
Kumar vowed to "punish him for ’hunting’ the elephant" and has reportedly "directed the forest officials to nab the culprit."

In response to the heinous act, the Kerala forest department reiterated the portion of the Indian constitution mandating that citizens be kind to animals.

"Article 51-A (g) of the Indian Constitution says that it shall be duty of every citizen of India to have compassion for living creatures," they tweeted Tuesday.

Trump bans flights from China to US amid tensions over coronavirus, Hong Kong
Had a helluva time figuring where to place and classify this one
[American Military News] The Trump administration ordered a suspension of flights on Wednesday from China to the United States as tensions escalate between the two countries over the coronavirus and Hong Kong.

The order, which takes effect June 16, stems from China’s refusal to allow U.S. carriers to resume flying to China. Four Chinese airlines currently fly to China from the U.S.: Air China, China Eastern, China Southern and Xiamen.

President Donald Trump imposed travel restrictions on China on Jan. 31 as the coronavirus began to spread early this year. His decision came after Delta, American and United and other major international carriers had stopped flying to China because of the outbreak.

In early January, U.S. and Chinese carriers operated 325 scheduled flights a week between the two countries. By mid-February, four Chinese airlines operated 20 flights per week. In mid-March, the Chinese carriers increased their weekly flights to 34.

In a March 26 decision, China’s civil aviation agency limited foreign airlines to one weekly flight into China, aiming to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Two major American carriers, Delta and United, have been pressing Chinese officials to allow them to resume service, to no avail.

The latest move comes amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and China, which some have warned amount to a new "cold war" between the world’s two largest economies.

Trump has accused China of a coronavirus cover-up, suggested the government may have allowed the disease to spread and threatened to extract a "substantial" price from Beijing for the pandemic. And last week, Trump blasted China for President Xi Jinping’s move to impose sweeping new restrictions on Hong Kong, aimed a stifling the territory’s pro-democracy movement.

Chinese officials have charged the Trump administration with willful ignorance, dangerous mismanagement and even attempted "blackmail." In response to the Trump administration’s criticisms of its Hong Kong crackdown, Chinese officials have pointed to the unrest in the U.S. over the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck.

"I can’t breathe," Hua Chunying, China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, tweeted last week, echoing Floyd’s words during the police encounter.

Her tweet came after the State Department’s chief spokeswoman called on the world to "hold to account the Chinese Communist Party, which has flagrantly broken its promises to the people of Hong Kong."

Some experts fear the spiraling tensions could jeopardize the much-touted trade deal that Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Lui He signed at the White House in January — a "phase one" agreement that White House officials said would be followed by a broader pact dealing with more contentious issues.

It’s unclear if China will be willing or able to follow through on its commitments in the phase one agreement, which included a promise to buy an extra $200 billion in American goods and services over the next two years.

SPLA-IO kills 15 South Sudanese in Central Equatoria, says NAS
[Sudan Tribune] The SPLA-IO killed 15 civilians in Central Equatoria State three days ago, claimed the National Salvation Front (NAS) in a statement on Wednesday.

"On 31st May 2020, the SPLA-IO force under the joint command of Maj. Gen. John Mabiah and Maj. Gen. Moses Lokujo have carried out summary execution of fifteen (15) innocent civilians in the villages of Loguni, Panyume Payam, Morobo County in Central Equatoria State," reads a statement released by NAS front man.

In a statement extended to Sudan Tribune, Suba Samuel Manase referred to the "mysterious disappearance" of the three SPLA-IO commanders In Kajo-Kiji adding that the troops of the First Vice-President Riek Machar continued attack on civilians

"On 29th May 2020, a combined force of SSPDF and SPLA-IO followed the civilians who escaped to Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
(DRC) for safety. They attacked and tortured the civilians in addition to looting their properties," he said.

Last May, the SPLA-IO accused NAS of abducting eight of its military officials including three senior officers at Kansuk in Kajo Keji County on 10 May.

NAS rejected the accusation and described it as a cover-up for internal divisions and "power rivalry" within the SPLA-IO alluding that they had been killed by another general from the area.

On 29 May, the UN Security Council renewed targeted sanctions on South Sudanese official and arms embargo.

The resolution further Expressed "deep concern" at continued fighting in South Sudan and condemned violations of the Revitalised Agreement and the Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities, Protection of Civilians and Humanitarian Access (ACOH).

-Short Attention Span Theater-
German Official Leaks Report Denouncing Corona as ‘A Global False Alarm'
[StrategicCulture] Germany’s federal government and mainstream media are engaged in damage control after a report that challenges the established Corona narrative leaked from the interior ministry.

Some of the report key passages are:

  • The dangerousness of Covid-19 was overestimated: probably at no point did the danger posed by the new virus go beyond the normal level.

  • The people who die from Corona are essentially those who would statistically die this year, because they have reached the end of their lives and their weakened bodies can no longer cope with any random everyday stress (including the approximately 150 viruses currently in circulation).

  • Worldwide, within a quarter of a year, there has been no more than 250,000 deaths from Covid-19, compared to 1.5 million deaths [25,100 in Germany] during the influenza wave 2017/18.

  • The danger is obviously no greater than that of many other viruses. There is no evidence that this was more than a false alarm.

  • A reproach could go along these lines: During the Corona crisis the State has proved itself as one of the biggest producers of Fake News.

So far, so bad. But it gets worse.

The report focuses on the "manifold and heavy consequences of the Corona measures" and warns that these are "grave".

More people are dying because of state-imposed Corona-measures than they are being killed by the virus.

The reason is a scandal in the making:

A Corona-focused German healthcare system is postponing life-saving surgery and delaying or reducing treatment for non-Corona patients.

Berlin in Denial Mode. The scientists fight back.

Initially, the government tried to dismiss the report as "the work of one employee", and its contents as "his own opinion" — while the journalists closed ranks, no questions asked, with the politicians.

But the 93-pages report titled "Analysis of the Crisis Management" has been drafted by a scientific panel appointed by the interior ministry and composed by external medical experts from several German universities.

The report was the initiative of a department of the interior ministry called Unit KM4 and in charge with the "Protection of critical infrastructures".

This is also where the German official turned whistleblower, Stephen Kohn, work(ed), and from where he leaked it to the media.

The authors of the report issued a joint press release already on Mai 11th, berating the government for ignoring expert advise, and asking for the interior minister to officially comment upon the experts joint statement:

"Therapeutic and preventive measures should never bring more harm than the illness itself. Their aim should be to protect the risk groups, without endegearing the availibilty of medical care and the health of the whole population, as it is unfortunately occurring"

"We in the scientific and medical praxis are experiencing the secondary damages of the Corona-measures on our patients on a dialy basis."

"We therefore ask the Federal Ministry of the Interior, to comment upon our press release, and we hope for a pertinent discussion regarding the [Corona] measures, one that leads to the best possible solution for the whole population"

At the time of writing, the German government had yet to react.

But the facts are — sadly — vindicating the medical experts’ worries.

On Mai 23 the German newspaper Das Bild titled: "Dramatic consequences of the Corona-Measures: 52,000 Cancer Ops delayed."

Inside, a aeading medical doctor warns that "we will feel the side-effects of the Corona crisis for years".

Shooting the Whistleblower. Ignoring the Message.

As Der Spiegel reported on Mai 15th: "Stephen Kohn [the whistleblower] has since been suspended from duty. He was advised to obtain a lawyer and his work laptop was confiscated."

Kohn had originally leaked the report on May 9th to the liberal-conservative magazine Tichys Einblick one of Germany's most popular alternative media outlets....

But I can usually shake it on my own, although a few times I needed medication. So from then it went flu-like, flu-ish, hurt all over and weak, pneumonia, then flu-ish again. By the end of March I was okay, although I lost some weight. I am still fine. I never went to the doctor, but he called me every few days, so we 'statused'.

#10  Not good #9. Scars the lungs. Seven years of that and COPD close behind. Two lungs to survive damage but in time you will be compromised. In my opinion it starts with sinus drainage. Control sinus you prevent infection spreading to ears, throat or lungs. When cleared up from sinus infection you must go 2-3 months without re-occurrence. Infection loves low oxygen levels, poor circulation, acid chemistry and normal body temperature. Loves porous bone in sinus and atrium of middle ear.

Lesotho's former first lady back in custody over murder of PM's ex-wife
[DAILYSABAH] Lesotho's former first lady, Maesaiah Thabane, returned to custody on Wednesday after a court revoked bail that she had been controversially given over the murder of her husband's estranged wife.

The 43-year-old was charged with murder in February after police quizzed her on the brutal killing of former Prime Minister Thomas Thabane's wife two days before his inauguration.

She spent one night in jail before a High Court freed her on a 1,000 maloti ($57) bail.

But on Friday the country's Court of Appeal canceled that bail.

Police failed to re-arrest her immediately because she was out of country accompanying her octogenarian husband, who was seeking medical attention in neighbouring South Africa.

On Wednesday she arrived at the magistrate court in Maseru under the escort of armed coppers.

Magistrate Thamae Thamae told her she would be taken to the female correctional facility in fulfilment of the appeals court judgement.

"The decision of the High Court to grant you bail has been set aside by the Court of Appeal," said the magistrate.

"You will remain in the correctional facility. You will report back on 16 June 2020 to find out the progress of your case."

Police officers immediately whisked her away.

She came to court sporting a black-and-olive-green colored tracksuit, a knee-length winter coat, sneakers and a headscarf. She had donned an anti-coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)

mask to cover her face, but her slumped posture suggested unhappiness for someone known for self-confidence.

Maesaiah Thabane is suspected of orchestrating the shooting of Lipolelo Thabane, who was bumped off outside her home in the capital Maseru.

Police have also charged her for the attempted murder of Lipolelo Thabane's friend Thato Sibolla, who was maimed at the scene.

Lipolelo and Thabane, now 81, had been embroiled in bitter divorce proceedings when the 58-year-old was killed.

The former premier agreed to step down in January after police linked his mobile number to communication records from the scene of the crime.

He resigned officially this month, bowing to pressure from his rivals who accused him of hampering investigations into Lipolelo's death.

Thabane has denied any involvement in the murder.

His wife initially went into hiding after police first called her in to testify in January.

She has not yet been asked to respond to the charges.

#1  Fox, October 12, 2016: In 2011, the Obama administration with support from some Republican and Democratic lawmakers explored options to arm the so-called “Libyan rebels” during the chaotic Arab Spring but UN sanctions prohibited direct sales. Arms merchant Turi's plan was to have the U.S. government supply conventional weapons to Qatar and UAE, which would in turn supply them to Libya. But Turi says he never sold any weapons, and he was cut out of the plan. Working with CIA, Turi said Clinton's State Department had the lead and used its own people, with weapons flowing to Libya and Syria. "I can assure you that these operations did take place and those weapons did go in different directions." Asked by Fox who got the weapons -- Al Qaeda, Ansar al-Sharia, or ISIS -- Turi said: "All of them, all of them, all of them.
