After Seeing Latest Jobs Report, Nation Regrets Buffalo Guy’s Failure To Seize Presidency
[Bee] U.S.—As a dismal job numbers and economic data were released this week, many are regretting Buffalo Guy didn’t manage to body-slam Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi and seize the presidency.

The superviolent insurrection on January 6th was initially met with disdain by a majority of Americans, but though they may disagree with the methods, they now find themselves wishing Biden was not the president.

"Really, anyone but Biden," said local homeless man, John Adventure. "I was a proud Biden supporter. Now I’m living in an opium den with a family of opossums. With Buffalo Guy, maybe at least we'd have jobs. Now, where’s my dollar?"

Presidential historian Chester Hornback shared a similar sentiment. "President Biden spends most of his days eating ice cream on a TV set made to look like the White House. It seems like Buffalo Guy at least had the kind of initiative we need to get our economy going again."

Experts agree that in addition to creating more jobs, Buffalo Guy would have restored a sense of grace and dignity back to the White House.

DeSantis Knocks Jen Psaki for Criticisms: If You Cared About Saving Lives You Wouldn't Ignore Treatment
[Breitbart] Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) administration hit back against criticisms lodged by White House press secretary Jen Psaki after she suggested that DeSantis has not done enough to promote vaccines for the Chinese coronavirus — as he has championed freedom of choice as well as lifesaving treatment.

During Thursday’s press conference, Psaki defended the Biden administration’s approach to get the pandemic under control "through the lens of equity" and dismissed criticisms from the Florida governor.

"I’d say it’s pretty rich coming from Gov. DeSantis given he’s somebody who’s been advocating, not exactly advocating for people in his state to get vaccinated," she said, adding:

China-Japan-Koreas
Japan and Australia sign defense pact to counter China's rise
[NIKKEI] 'Landmark agreement' to raise cooperation; Tokyo also courts U.K., France

Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian counterpart Scott Morrison on Thursday signed a treaty to facilitate joint exercises, as they vowed in a virtual meeting to strengthen security cooperation amid China's growing military influence in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) will facilitate faster deployment of Japanese Self-Defense Forces and Australian Defense Force personnel and ease restrictions on the transportation of weapons and supplies for joint training and disaster relief operations.

"This is a landmark agreement that will bring Japan-Australia security cooperation to a new level," said Kishida in signing the agreement.

Morrison said the pact will enable the two countries to cooperate at a high level.

Australia is the second country with which Japan has concluded such an accord after the United States.

Japan will also seek to reach such a pact with Britain, with which Japan launched negotiations in October, and France as the two countries have been increasing defense cooperation with Tokyo in response to an increasingly assertive China.

Japan and Australia agreed to start talks on the RAA in 2014 and reached a broad agreement in November 2020, but Japan's death penalty system had been an obstacle to concluding the deal.

Europe
U.S. to open Special Operations Forces base in Albania
TIRANA, Jan 6 (Reuters) - The United States Special Operations Command Europe (SOCEUR) will open a forward-based headquarters in Albania on a rotational basis, Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday.

SOCEUR, based in Stuttgart, Germany, said on its website that the base in Albania would provide increased coordination with Albanian allies, important access to transportation hubs in the Balkans and greater logistical flexibility.

"This is a fantastic news ... it is an expression of a very high credibility and a very close cooperation," Rama said in a video message in which he read out the SOCEUR announcement.

Albania became a member of the NATO military alliance in 2009.

Highly trained and equipped with advanced communications equipment and weapons, special forces are often used in counterterrorism or reconnaissance operations. They can infiltrate enemy lines to tie down much larger numbers of opposition troops.

It was not clear what the role of these U.S. forces in Albania would be.

SOCEUR said its role is to "rapidly respond to emerging threats and if necessary, defeat aggression" together with its allies.

In the decade after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks U.S. special forces numbers more than doubled, their budget tripled and their deployments quadrupled.

The United States already has 600 troops based in Serbia's former province of Kosovo to maintain the fragile peace more than two decades after the end of the Kosovo War in 1999.

Bullshi*! Albania already has Special Forces units. They assisted the US effort in AFG, but were NOT integrated into the SOF effort. They were used as mechanized infantry in Kandahar Province. We need to stay out of that Eastern Euro mess.

VDH - Who are the real insurrectionists
[ZERO] Recently, Democrats have been despondent over President Joe Biden's sinking poll numbers. His policies on the economy, energy, foreign policy, the border, and COVID-19 all have lost majority support.

As a result, the left now variously alleges that either in 2022, when they expect to lose the Congress, or in 2024, when they fear losing the presidency, Republicans will "destroy democracy" or stage a coup.

A cynic might suggest that they praise democracy when they get elected, only to claim it is broken when they lose.

Or they hope to avoid their defeat by trying to terrify the electorate. Or they mask their own revolutionary propensities by projecting them onto their opponents.

After all, who is trying to federalize election laws in national elections contrary to the spirit of the Constitution? Who wishes to repeal or circumvent the Electoral College? Who wishes to destroy the more than 180-year-old Senate filibuster, the over 150-year-old nine-justice Supreme Court, and the more than 60-year-old, 50-state union?

Who is attacking the founding constitutional idea of two senators per state?

The Constitution also clearly states that "When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside." Who slammed through the impeachment of former president Donald Trump without a presiding chief justice?

Never had a president been either impeached twice or tried in the Senate as a private citizen. Who did both?

The left further broke prior precedent by impeaching Trump without a special counsel's report, formal hearings, witnesses, and cross-examinations.

Known Capitol riot leader spent one day in jail, while 80 others languish in 'DC Gulag'
[Washington Examiner] He’s a wannabe music star who boasts about being an insurrectionist in social media accounts filled with curse-filled rants against former President Donald Trump.

You would think the Jan. 6 march on the Capitol would be the last place to find John Earle Sullivan, yet the 27-year-old was seen continuously spurring on violence that day by pushing the crowd forward. He was just feet away from veteran Ashli Babbitt when she was shot dead by a Capitol Police officer outside the House chamber, court records show, and he even sold video he shot of the incident for $90,000.

But unlike some 80 other individuals who have been imprisoned for up to 300 days for storming the Capitol, Sullivan has been allowed to go home to Utah while awaiting a trial date on eight criminal counts. One of the protesters who has been in jail the longest, Kenneth Harrelson, is accused of pushing into the Capitol behind a mob. He stayed inside 18 minutes, walking around and taking photographs, and has not been accused of any violence in court documents reviewed by the Washington Examiner.

In contrast, Sullivan carried a knife into the Capitol and offered to use it, broke a window, and ordered officers to leave their posts where he would soon film Babbitt getting shot.

"He was head of a group Insurgence USA, which sounds like antifa and Black Lives Matter," Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told the Washington Examiner.
The slickly produced website looks like a single use false-nose-and-mustache thingy to make his general Black Bloc anarcho-communist viciousness look like romantic social activism. Mr. Sullivan, who also goes by Jaydon X, formed the group in response to the death of George Floyd.
"John Sullivan is a professional rioter, and he is actually being treated really well in the two-tiered justice system in America. Democrats are not going to punish their own, which is why he is walking around free."

France bans extreme-right group over violence against anti-racists at Zemmour rally
[IsraelTimes] Decree says Zouaves Gay Paree group propagated ’openly racist discourse;’ members blamed for attacks on protestors at Jewish “far-right”
...scare quotes mine...
presidential candidate’s campaign event.

La Belle France banned an extreme-right youth group Wednesday known as the "Zouaves Gay Paree," who are blamed for attacks on anti-racism activists at a raucous rally last month by far-right presidential candidate Eric Zemmour.
...the eminent, contrary Le Figaro columnist and nationalist public intellectual whose Jewish Berber parents left Algeria for la belle France in the 1950s...
"The group ’Zouaves Gay Paree’ was banned this morning at a cabinet meeting, in line with the instructions of the President" Emmanuel Macron, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin wrote on Twitter, saying the group had incited "hatred and violence."

The decree prohibiting the group, founded in 2017 and believed to have only around 20 hardcore members, said it "propagated an openly racist discourse" that included "symbols of Nazi ideology" and "white superiority."
Putting on Nazi symbols causes the IQ to drop by 25 points.
Members were accused of assaulting activists from SOS Racisme
...officially an activist arm of various Socialist political parties across Europe, but in the case of the Norwegian branch both open Maoists and convicted fraudsters. If not actually Antifa, they provide the sea in which Antifa activists swim...
at the December 5 rally by Zemmour shortly after the controversial pundit announced his candidacy for the 2022 presidential elections.
Queerly enough, it appears neither SOS Racisme nor any of the other 50 or so left and far left groups protesting Mr Zemmour that day have been reported as banned, despite the fact that they were the ones who started the festivities. But France has a tradition of violent leftists that goes back to the French Revolution.
Its leader Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, 23, was detained and charged with assault. The group takes its name from elite units of French troops who fought in Africa in the 19th century.

Zemmour, who is Jewish, is accused by opponents of being a racist, an allegation he denies. He has, however, repeatedly criticized Islam and immigration, which he says are harming French identity.

The rally was marked by festivities with anti-racism activists, and Zemmour himself was at one point put in a headlock and suffered an injury to his wrist.

Zemmour’s campaign enjoyed a surge in popularity ahead of the declaration of his candidacy, but it appears to have slackened in recent weeks, although most polls still predict he will win around 15 percent in the first round.

He is currently facing a struggle to muster the 500 signatures needed from French mayors to formally register his candidacy.

Government Corruption
There Was No Insurrection But There Was A Coup
[American Thinker] The debate is over. After a year spent investigating claims of election fraud, the media has determined that any fraud in the 2020 election was too insignificant to have changed the outcome and Joe Biden legitimately won. Now we can get back to our normal lives, or whatever passes for normal now...except that’s fiction.

In 44 BC, Roman Senators murdered Caesar, claiming they acted to protect the Republic. In fact, they simply sought power. Their coup d’état put the final nail in the coffin of a republic that had been dead in deed, if not name, for decades.

Coup d’états differ from revolutions in that they’re generally orchestrated by or include people within government who seize power—often by narrowly using or just threatening violence—resulting in a rapid transition of power. Revolutions are often longer affairs that include much of a country’s population and exponentially more bloodshed.

Most coups try to keep much of the society and government apparatus intact, merely changing who’s in charge. This illusion of continuity is intended to gain the population’s acquiescence by avoiding the appearance of a bloody civil war.

And that’s exactly what we got. While Donald Trump does not lie in a bloody toga on the floor of the Senate, America witnessed a coup d’état equally as vicious. Many will deny one took place because their guy won but, make no mistake, virtually every American knows one did, even if only 56% admit it.

The moment the coup began to reveal itself Americans knew something was amiss. Many went to bed on November 3rd believing that Trump was leading in enough states to secure an electoral victory, including in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, and Wisconsin. Strangely, however, while America slept, densely populated Democrat counties like Fulton (Atlanta) in Georgia and Allegheny (Pittsburgh) in Pennsylvania "stopped counting" votes only to "restart" later when Biden suddenly got enough votes to swing the state blue. Similarly, Philadelphia stopped "reporting" at 1 AM and later announced Biden had won the state.

The morning of the 4th, as cries of fraud came from red areas across the country, the side that cried "election fraud" for four years suddenly fell silent. Apparently, 2020 had become the "most legitimate election in American history".

Joseph Stalin said, "Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything." That’s exactly how we went from being a constitutional republic to a banana republic, but rather than the United Fruit Company or the CIA running the coup, it was Mark Zuckerberg, Democrats, the FBI, and the media.

India-Pakistan
Bulli Bai case: With main conspirator Neeraj Bishnoi's arrest, whole network busted: Delhi police
[OneIndia] The Delhi cops will produce Neeraj Bishnoi, main Bulli Bai case conspirator, before the court tonight after he was arrested he was arrested in Assam on Wednesday evening. He was nabbed by Assam police hours after their Delhi counterpart shared the information about him.

"Neeraj Bishnoi, main Bulli Bai case conspirator, will be presented in Delhi Court tonight. He has confessed, but most importantly, we've acquired technical evidence required from his laptop & mobile. Whole network has been busted," news agency ANI quotes DCP(IFSO) KPS Malhotra as saying over the arrest of Neeraj Bishnoi.

He has been brought to Delhi by the Delhi Police Special Cell and on Thursday evening.

21-year-old Niraj Bishnoi is the "main conspirator" is arrested for his alleged involvement in the app that has listed hundreds of Moslem women for "auction", police said.

"Delhi Police have been coordinating with us over the matter. Their team reached here on Wednesday morning and by evening, we had located the accused," PTI quotes the officer of Assam Police as saying. "The operation was over in about 12 hours here," he added.

Hundreds of Moslem women were listed for auction on the "Bulli Bai" mobile application with photographs sourced without permission and doctored. The app appeared to be a clone of "Sulli Deals" which triggered a similar row last year.

Bishnoi, a resident of Jorhat who studies in Bhopal, is also the creator of the "Bulli Bai" app on GitHub as well as the main Twitter account holder of "Bulli Bai", police said.

He was arrested by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police. He was taken to Delhi from Jorhat in the afternoon for further investigation, reports PTI.

On the other hand, the cyber cell of Mumbai Police arrested three - a 19-year-old woman, alleged to be the main culprit, from Uttarakhand, a 21-year-old engineering student from Bengaluru and another 21-year-old, also from Uttarakhand.

The Delhi cops filed an FIR against unknown persons for allegedly uploading a doctored picture of a woman journalist on a website on Saturday. The journalist had lodged a complaint and shared a copy on Twitter.

More here.
Earlier this week, an 18 year old identified as Shweta Singh was held by the Mumbai Police on the accusation that she is the prime accused in the Bulli Bai case in which photographs of several Moslem women were posted on an app for auction.

She was using a fake Twitter handle called JattKhalsa07 and the same was used to upload hate posts and objectionable photos and comments. She lost both her parents. She first lost her mother to cancer and father to COVID-19 last year. She has two sisters and a brother. Singh was preparing for her engineering exams.

New York Times Offers Stunning Report on Left-Wing Racial Fundraising
[PJMEDIA] Thomas Edsall, one of the few decent contributors at the New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

, published a valuable piece of journalism Wednesday on the sheer size of philanthropic commitment to left-wing "racial justice" measures.

With nearly 3,000 words of interviews and assorted content, he explores how much money — nearly $25 billion it turns out — was donated by progressive elites to divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
racial endeavors after the May 2020 killing of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...

Before Floyd’s death, Candid — a website for wealthy "people who want to change the world with the resources they need to do it" — said philanthropic entities provided about $3 billion in "racial equity funding" from 2011-19. Since then, Candid found, "50,887 grants valued at $12.7 billion" and "177 pledges valued at $11.6 billion."

Among the top funders are the Ford Foundation, at $3 billion; Mackenzie Scott, at $2.9 billion; JPMorgan Chase & Co. Contributions Program, at $2.1 billion; W.K. Kellogg Foundation, $1.2 billion; Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, $1.1 billion; Silicon Valley Community Foundation, $1 billion; Walton Family Foundation, $689 million; The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, $438 million; and the Foundation to Promote Open Society,
...George Soros’s little project funder...
$350.5 million.

This is the largest amount of philanthropy ever spent on one cause in such a short period — probably by a factor of 10.

This institutional caving-in to bogus theories of racial inequity and victimhood is mind-blowing and also poses a great danger to Democrats because these causes are so far left of where even their voters are, much less where everyday Americans are.

Some liberal strategists worry about unintended political consequences from this surge in virtue signaling.

Matt Bennett, senior vice president of Third Way, a center-left think tank, told Edsall:

"Whether inadvertent or not, some progressive foundations are funding work that is shortsighted and harmful to the long-term progress they hope to achieve. It’s crystal clear that some ideas being pushed by activists and funded by lefty foundations go beyond that paradigm, treading into territory that is flat-out politically toxic and that undermine our collective goals."

And it’s all failing, too.

"Defund the Police" was voted down in Minneapolis two months ago and performed worst in areas with the largest black populations — where a whopping 61% opposed. Wealthier, liberal strongholds supported the preposterous amendment to disband the city’s police department by a 57-43 margin.

Second Democrat Rep. Swalwell spotted in Florida despite vocally supporting strict COVID measures
[JUSTTHENEWS] Rep. Eric I farted on national television Swalwell
... U.S. Representative-for-Life from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,'s 15th congressional district since 2013. Naturally he's a Dem. His district covers most of eastern Alameda County and part of central Contra Costa County. He was rapidly eliminated from the 2020 Dem nomination pool. He looks a lot like Greg Marmelard, and has the distinction of being one of the few politicians to ever fart on national teevee...
(D-Calif.) is the second House Democrat this week to be spotted maskless on vacation in mandate-free Florida despite previously calling for strict COVID-19 measures.
The photos of Swalwell, published by The Daily Mail, show him maskless with his infant son as he spoke with a friend in the lobby of a luxurious Miami hotel.

Swalwell has repeatedly blasted Republicans over the pandemic and insisted more measures be instituted. In a tweet last week, the California Democrat blamed the GOP for the pandemic.

"As we end 2021, mired in a deadly pandemic, you should know who has prolonged it. THESE GUYS. Republican liars. Your vacation cancelled. Your kids back to virtual learning. And back to masks everywhere," he said.

Swalwell has also repeatedly called for a domestic travel vaccine mandate. Florida has stood against any vaccine mandate and gone as far as allowing residents to fine employers who impose the shot.

Democrat voting rules bill prohibits states from requiring ID or social to obtain absentee ballot
[JUSTTHENEWS] Voting rules legislation that Democrats are moving forward in the 50-50 Senate would prohibit states from imposing an identification requirement in order to obtain an absentee ballot ahead of an election.

Under the Freedom to Vote Act, a state "may not require an individual to submit any form of identifying document as a condition of obtaining or casting an absentee ballot."

The bill permits a state to require certain information under section 303(a)(5)(A) of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (52 U.S.C. 21083) for voter registration, but a state "may not deny a voter a ballot or the opportunity to cast it on the grounds that the voter does not possess a current and valid driver's license number or a social security number."

Instead, states may require the "signature of the individual or similar affirmation as a condition of obtaining or casting an absentee ballot."

Democrats argue that passage of this bill as well as the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021 will help protect voting rights and increase access to the ballot box.

Phillip Kline, former Kansas attorney general, disagrees with those provisions of the Freedom to Vote Act that would create one-size-fits-all federal rules for absentee and mail-in ballots.

Not requiring ID or Social Security numbers to obtain mail-in ballots could lead to illegal ballot harvesting, Kline argued.

"There are commonsense protections that are placed on an absentee ballot because you do not have trained election officials to make sure that the voter is not misled or coerced or intimidated to vote a certain way and to make sure it was the actual voter who completed the ballot," he said. "They're eliminating all of those commonsense protections."

Gunfight breaks out in central Kashmir's Chadoora
[GREATERKASHMIR] A shootout broke out between bully boyz and security forces in Zolwa area of Chadoora in central Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Budgam district on Thursday night.

"Encounter has started at Zolwa Kralpora Chadoora area of #Budgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, " a police front man said.

The encounter broke out shortly after security forces cordoned the area following inputs about the presence of bully boyz there.

It was not immediately known as to how many bully boyz are trapped in the area.

U.N. Condemns Villagers Attack against Its Lebanon Peacekeepers
[An Nahar] The United Nations

slammed as "unacceptable" an attack against peacekeepers in southern Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers, a practice dating back to the heady days of human sacrifice to Baal Moloch...
, front man Stephane Dujarric said.

The peacekeepers -- members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) -- were attacked late Tuesday night by "unknown perpetrators," he said.

"Their U.N. vehicles were vandalized and official items were stolen," Dujarric said, without specifying the nature of the damage or the state of the victims.

He noted that the peacekeepers were not on private property or taking photos, "contrary to some subsequent media disinformation."

Instead, they were en route to meet Lebanese Armed Forces members for a "routine patrol," he said.

"The denial of UNIFIL's freedom of movement and any aggression against those serving the cause of peace is unacceptable," said Dujarric, before calling on the Lebanese government to "investigate quickly and thoroughly, and prosecute all those responsible for these crimes."

UNIFIL -- comprised of about 13,000 U.N. peacekeepers -- has operated in southern Lebanon since 1978, and is responsible for monitoring the ceasefire along the border with Israel.

In a pair of tweets sent Wednesday morning, the Chicago Teachers Union said that Lightfoot had "started locking Chicago public school teachers and staff out of their Google Classrooms" and added the hashtag "#LoriLockout."

In a follow-up tweet Wednesday morning, the union said, "We are being inundated with calls and emails this morning from educators who attempted to log into their platforms to connect with their students and teach remotely, and safely, but are being locked out by Mayor Lightfoot."

[SHAFAQ] Five members of the same family were reportedly killed in an attack that targeted the residence of a fighter in al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces-PMF) in the south of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

A source told Shafaq News Agency that four unidentified armed persons raided the residence of a PMF member in al-A'lam neighborhood and sprayed the entire family with bullets.

The attack resulted in injuring the fighter, and Killing his wife and three children.

It is worth noting that Brigade 45 of the PMF consists of the Iraqi Hezbollah brigades fighters, close to Iran.

The incident cast a striking resemblance to the incident that took place in the district of Jableh (Babel) in which twenty members of the same family were killed
Rudaw adds:.
Describing it as a "cowardly" attack, Hashd said in a statement that the unidentified button men targeted the house of its member, Ahmed Abdul-Muttalib, in al-Malef area, west of Baghdad.

"The button men opened fire on family members who were inside the house, killing five of them and seriously injuring the [PMF] member. He was transferred to a hospital in the capital city of Baghdad while the bodies of the deaders were transferred to the forensic," it added.

The 2022 midterms are "not only the most important election, if we don’t get it right, it could be the last election," he added.

Swalwell slammed the GOP for choosing "violence over voting."

Republicans are "already putting as many barriers to the ballot box as possible" in multiple states, Swalwell said, while "on the other side of the finish line they are putting in place processes where they could reverse the outcome even if we crawl through glass, run through fire, to get to the ballot box."

"If they are able to win the House, the damage they could do to permanently make it difficult to vote and just alter the way we participate in a democratic process could be irreversible," Swalwell added.

Palestinian gunman killed in clash with Israeli troops during arrest raid in Nablus
[IsraelTimes] Military says gunnies opened fire on the soldiers, none of whom were maimed; assailant identified as a member of Fatah terror group

Israeli troops rubbed out a Paleostinian gunman during an exchange of fire in the northern West Bank city of Nablus in the predawn hours of Thursday morning, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The soldiers were sent into the Balata refugee camp in the city to arrest a wanted man and came under fire, according to the military.

The troops returned fire, killing one of the button men, the IDF said.

The IDF said the troops completed the raid and arrested the suspect.

The gunman was identified by Paleostinian security sources as 22-year-old Bakeer Hashash. Photographs of Hashash that were shared on Paleostinian social media showed him holding an M-16 assault rifle.

Later on Thursday he was claimed as a member by the Fatah terror group. Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede, also issued a public condemnation of Israel for killing him, referring to Hashash as a "hero martyr."

Dozens of Protesters Killed in Kazakhstan; 12 Police Dead
Kazakhstan articles can be seen here, here, here, here, here, and here.
[An Nahar] Dozens of protesters were killed in Kazakhstan in attacks on government buildings and at least a dozen coppers died, including one who was found beheaded, authorities said Thursday.

There were attempts to storm buildings overnight in the country's largest city, Almaty, and "dozens of attackers were liquidated," police spokeswoman Saltanat Azirbek said. She spoke on state news channel Khabar-24. The reported attempts to storm the buildings came after widespread unrest in the city on Wednesday, including seizure of the mayor's building, which was set on fire.

State news channel Khabar-24 cited the city commandant's office as saying Thursday that another 353 law enforcement officers were maimed in addition to the 12 killed.

Kazakhstan is experiencing the worst street protests the country has seen since gaining independence three decades ago.

A Russia-led military alliance, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, said early Thursday that it would send peacekeeper troops to Kazakhstan at the request of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Kazakhstan has been rocked by intensifying protests that began on Sunday over a sharp rise in prices for liquefied petroleum gas fuel. The protests began in the country's west but spread to Almaty and the capital Nur-Sultan.

On Wednesday, Tokayev vowed to take harsh measures to quell the unrest and declared a two-week state of emergency for the whole country, expanding one that had been announced for both the capital of Nur-Sultan and the largest city of Almaty that imposed an overnight curfew and restricted movement into and around the urban areas. The government resigned in response over the unrest.

Although the protests began over a near-doubling of prices for a type of liquefied petroleum gas that is widely used as vehicle fuel, their size and rapid spread suggested they reflect wider discontent in the country that has been under the rule of the same party since gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

Tokayev claimed the unrest was led by "terrorist bands" that had received help from unspecified other countries.

Kazakhstan, the ninth-largest country in the world, borders Russia to the north and China to the east and has extensive oil reserves that make it strategically and economically important. Despite those reserves and mineral wealth, discontent over poor living conditions is strong in some parts of the country. Many Kazakhs also chafe at the dominance of the ruling party, which holds more than 80% of the seats in parliament.

Many of the demonstrators who converged on the mayoral office Wednesday carried clubs and shields, according to earlier reports in Kazakh media. Tass later said the building was engulfed in flames.

The protests appear to have no identifiable leader or demands. Many of the demonstrators shouted "old man go," an apparent reference to Nursultan Nazarbayev
...served as the President of Kazakhstan since the Fall of the Soviet Union and the nation's independence in 1991. Contrary to commonly held belief, there is a difference between Kazakhs and Cossacks: Kazakhs have mustaches. Cossacks wear those great big hats. Or maybe it's the other way around...
, the country's first president who continued to wield enormous influence after his 2019 resignation. Nazarbayev dominated Kazakhstan's politics and his rule was marked by a moderate cult of personality. Critics say he effectively instituted a clan system in government.

After the demonstrations spread to Nur-Sultan and Almaty, the government announced its resignation, but Tokayev said the ministers would stay in their roles until a new Cabinet is formed, making it uncertain whether the resignations will have significant impact.

At the start of the year, prices for the gas called LPG roughly doubled as the government moved away from price controls as part of efforts to move to a market economy.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] Briefly about current events in Kazakhstan

1. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the main administrative buildings in the center of Alma-Ata were taken under control during the battles with the pogromists.

Nevertheless, it is too early to talk about full control over the city, even after lunch there was organized armed resistance, which is not surprising, given the fact that after the defeat and looting of weapons stores and weapons in state institutions, thousands of small arms fell into the hands of the thugs.

Of course, all this must be cleaned up as soon as possible, so that later Alma-Ata does not turn into an analogue of the Duma, Deraa or Aleppo, when the issues of eliminating this public had to be resolved by artillery and aviation.

2. Attacks on the TV tower and the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were repulsed, the attackers were killed. Judging by these and other statements of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, today in Alma-Ata the security forces have filled up at least several dozen people.

On rare videos and photos, you can see both shootings and those arrested and the corpses of the pogromists. The overwhelming majority of the locals are staying at home after warnings from the authorities, and they themselves note that there are a lot of newcomers from the countryside in the city.

3. Also issued a warning: all who resist and will be caught with a weapon in their hands will be destroyed. In fact, this is already a complete carte blanche for the destruction of any organized resistance.

Read the scenario of Tiananmen and Andijan, where the political leadership also gave the security forces complete freedom to restore order. By their actions on January 4-6, the rioters in Alma-Ata themselves did everything to make their shooting perceived as a purely positive phenomenon.

4. Contrary to the stuffing that Alexei Venediktov also spread, the CSTO forces are still deploying in Kazakhstan and are not taking part in any suppression of protests, especially since such a task is not even set for them. The protests are crushed by the security forces of Kazakhstan, who are being pulled to the centers of the rebellion. The forces of the CSTO made it possible to release reliable people to strengthen the cleansing units.

5. In a number of cities, protesters say that they are not with the rioters in Alma-Ata, and in general they have already achieved their basic demands: they drove Nazarbayev out and lowered gas prices.

With these protesters, the authorities, I think, may well conduct a reasonable dialogue. The conversation with the characters from Alma-Ata will be short. The authorities also called on ordinary citizens who participated in the protests to go home, promising that there would be no prosecution for simply participating in the rallies. Questions will only be for the pogromists.

6. Kyrgyzstan today could not make a decision on the introduction of troops into Kazakhstan. We were unable to collect a quorum. They promise to accept it tomorrow, with a separate proviso that the Kyrgyz will not participate in suppressing the riots. Japarov said this several times for the deputies and the public. Russia, Belarus. Armenia, Tajikistan. All have already formalized the implementation of measures for the introduction of troops.

7. Erdogan said that he expects the soonest formation of the new government of Kazakhstan and the normalization of the situation in the country. Worried about Turkish business. China also called for an early end to the crisis and the restoration of stability. It is worth noting that all phrases about stability are associated exclusively with Tokayev. Not a word about Nazarbayev, as if he no longer exists.

8. The total number of killed employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Internal Troops was 18 killed and 742 wounded. Of those killed, two or three with their heads cut off.
Oh dear. If true, that’s not good.
The numbers are likely to rise by the evening. It is also reported that 30 protesters were killed at 1500 hrs, but this is most likely an underestimated figure.

Russian Duma wants to leave the CSTO forces in Kazakhstan to protect Russians
[REGNUM] The CSTO forces need to be stationed in Kazakhstan on a permanent basis, including to protect the Russian population. As a REGNUM correspondent reports on January 6, this was stated by the leader of the SRZP, State Duma deputy Sergei Mironov .

"The forces of the CSTO, which are based on Russian units, can become the basis for the formation in Kazakhstan of a system of countering extremism for years to come. One of the most important tasks of this system should be the protection of the Russian-speaking population. In this regard, it is advisable to consider the issue of the presence of the CSTO military in the republic on a permanent basis, " Mironov said.

However, the parliamentarian continued, military units alone cannot solve the security problem in Kazakhstan.

"For this, it is necessary to change approaches to ensuring civil peace and harmony, to create decent living conditions for people, to strengthen citizens' confidence in the authorities," he stressed.

He is convinced that the issue of protecting Russians should be one of the key issues for Russia when discussing security problems in Central Asia and the socio-economic development of the region as a whole.

"I hope that our partners in the CSTO will accept this position with respect and understanding," added Mironov.

Government Corruption
Seattle police improperly faked Proud Boys radio talk during 2020 protests, watchdog group finds
[KING5] An investigation by Seattle
...a formerly lovely city in Washington state, governed by communists, anarchists, dipshits, and other sorts of incompetents. Home to Starbuck's, Boeing (at least for now), and Amazon, Microsoft, and Costco, the city became rich beyond its wildest dreams. All that money attracted the usual sort of grifting politician, and it's well on its way to chewing off the hand that feeds it...
's Office of Police Accountability (OPA) shows officers exchanged fake radio transmissions about a nonexistent group of right-wing snuffies at a crucial moment during 2020 racial justice protests.

Fake radio chatter on June 8, 2020 about members of the Proud Boys marching around downtown Seattle, some possibly carrying guns, and then heading to confront protesters on Capitol Hill was an improper "ruse," or dishonest ploy, that exacerbated a volatile situation, according to OPA's report.

A lieutenant with the Seattle Police Operations Center told OPA the radio communications may have been made to test "the response of individuals who the department believed was monitoring its communication channels."

The Proud Boys is a far-right hard boy group with a reputation for street violence.

June 8, 2020, was the day the Seattle Police Department abandoned the East Precinct in the Capitol Hill neighborhood following protests sparked by the death of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...
in Minneapolis.

Protesters set up camp around the East Precinct and called it the "Capitol Hill Organized Protest," better known as CHOP. The CHOP covered six city blocks and lasted until July 1, 2020, when police cleared the area and eventually re-entered the precinct.

The officers that engaged in the misinformation effort did so in "compliance with orders from the chain of command," according to the report. That chain of command involved an assistant chief, since retired from the department, who approved, ordered and led the effort, according to the report. The OPA states that the assistant chief should bear the responsibility for what occurred.

It is further alleged that another police department employee "improperly supervised the ruse." That employee, retired from the department when he was interviewed by OPA, said he was assigned to participate and organize some officers.

Four other employees participated.

OPA found that the assistant chief abused the discretion afforded to him by: approving and overseeing a misinformation effort without issuing proper guidelines; did not ensure the effort was properly supervised, with the involved officers saying they had not engaged in this type of effort previously; and did not properly document the effort.

Additionally, OPA found that while there was an interest in ensuring police communications were not being monitored, there is no evidence that there was a threat to officer or public safety.

China-Japan-Koreas
N. Korea Claims Second Successful Test of Hypersonic Missile
More on this story from yesterday.
[An Nahar] North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
claimed Thursday to have conducted the second successful test flight of a hypersonic missile, days after leader Kim Pudge Jong-un
...the overweight, pouty-looking hereditary potentate of North Korea. Pudge appears to believe in his own divinity, but has yet to produce any loaves and fishes, so his subjects remain malnourished...
vowed to bolster his military forces despite pandemic-related difficulties.

Wednesday's launch, the North's first known weapons test in about two months, indicates the country will press ahead with plans to modernize its nuclear and missile arsenals rather than return to disarmament talks anytime soon.

The official Korean Central News Agency said the Central Committee of the ruling Workers' Party expressed "great satisfaction" at the results of the missile test, which was observed by leading weapons officials.

Hypersonic weapons, which fly at speeds in excess of Mach 5, or five times the speed of sound, could pose crucial challenges to missile defense systems because of their speed and maneuverability. It's unclear whether and how soon North Korea could manufacture such a high-tech missile, but it was among a wish-list of sophisticated military assets that Kim disclosed early last year, along with a multi-warhead missile, spy satellites, solid-fueled long-range missiles and underwater-launched nuclear missiles.

Wednesday's test was the second of its kind since North Korea first launched a hypersonic missile last September.

"The successive successes in the test launches in the hypersonic missile sector have strategic significance in that they hasten a task for modernizing strategic armed force of the state," a KCNA dispatch said.

The word "strategic" implies the missile is being developed to deliver nuclear weapons.

KCNA said the missile made a 120-kilometer-long (75 mile) lateral movement before hitting a target 700 kilometers (435 miles) away. It said the test reconfirmed the flight control and stability of the missile and verified its fuel capsule under the winter weather conditions.

While North Korea appears to have made progress in the development of a hypersonic missile, it still needs more test flights to determine whether it meets its tactical objectives or how advanced a hypersonic weapon it could develop, said Lee Choon Geun, an expert and honorary research fellow at South Korea's Science and Technology Policy Institute.

A photo of the launch shows that the upper parts of the missiles launched in September and this week have different shapes. Lee said this suggests that North Korea is testing two versions of warheads for a missile still under development or it is actually developing two different types of hypersonic missiles.

He said the missile's reported lateral movement would provide the weapon with a greater maneuverability to evade enemy missile defense systems.

Sinema Arrives to Deliver the Final Death Blow to Dems' Filibuster Plan
[TOWNHALL] Sen. Joe Manchin
...Dem senator-for-life from West Virginia. Manchin is one of the approximately one (okay, two) Dem senators who exhibits more integrity than Jello, often even representing his constituents...
(D-WV) has been the one to pretty much deliver the bad news to Democrats concerning their plan to nuke the filibuster. He’s already seen as public enemy number one on Build Back Better after he went on national television to announce he’s killing it because it’s an expensive communist venture. It’s a 50-50 Senate. I don’t get what Chuck is trying to do here. Is it to ward off a potential primary challenge from Alexandria Sandy Ocasio-Cortez
Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore...
? Maybe—but she’ll be coming after you no matter what, Chuck. That’s her character. Period. You could pass Build Back Better-plus, and she would still primary you if that was her plan. Yet, Sen. Krysten Sinema is the other party in this ongoing drama among Senate Democrats. They can’t afford to lose one vote. They always end up losing two—these two specifically. And like Manchin, Sinema isn’t keen at all about nuking the filibuster (via Axios):Voting rights: Schumer says the Senate will vote on a package of Senate rules changes by Jan. 17 — less than two weeks away.

While Manchin said he's still talking with his colleagues, he isn't on board with a filibuster carve-out for voting rights — calling it "a heavy lift" — and isn't willing to go nuclear and eliminate the filibuster altogether.

"Once you change a rule, or you have a carve-out ... you eat the whole turkey," the senator told a COVID-thinned group of pool news hounds on Tuesday.

He added that he would want any reform of Senate rules to have GOP buy-in — a long-shot to near impossible ask.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema
...Dem senatrix from Arizona. She began her political career in the Arizona Green Party and rose to prominence for her progressive advocacy, supporting causes such as LGBTQ rights and opposing the war on terror. She left the Green Party to join the Arizona Democratic Party in 2004 and was elected to a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2012. After her election, she joined the New Democrat Coalition, the Blue Dog Coalition and the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, amassing one of the most conservative voting records in the Democratic caucus. She won the 2018 Senate election to replace the retiring Jeff Flake, defeating Republican nominee Martha McSally. Sinema is the first openly bisexual (meaning she's not particular) and the second openly LGBT woman to be elected to the House of Representatives and to the Senate in 2012 and 2018, respectively. She also was the first woman elected to the Senate from Arizona....
(D-Ariz.), also a key holdout to major filibuster reform, reiterated during the Democratic lunch she will not support any effort to get rid of the 60-vote threshold, according to two sources familiar with the call.

Sinema has been having one-on-one talks with her colleagues for weeks, one of the sources said.

Schumer was hosting a meeting Tuesday evening with Manchin and the other seven Senate Democrats who helped craft the Freedom to Vote Act.

The majority leader said earlier in the day: "Manchin has said all along he wants to work with Republicans, and we've all been very patient ... but I believe he knows we won't get any Republican cooperation."

Border Patrol arrests gang members, migrant with child sex crime conviction in groups crossing into US
[FoxNews] So far there have been 110 gang members apprehended in FY 2022.

Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector have nabbed two gang members and a migrant with a child sex crime conviction coming across the border as part of separate groups of migrants entering the U.S.

On Wednesday, agents arrested a Salvadoran national and registered sex offender who had been arrested in Texas in 2018 for indecency with a child by sexual conduct. He was convicted but not deported, and instead was sentenced to five years probation.

Just a year later he was arrested in Houston for stalking and child abuse, and this time was deported. He also has an outstanding warrant. The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) release says that the group he was traveling in included a 7-year-old girl traveling with her mother.

On Tuesday, agents in La Joya encountered a group of six migrants trying to avoid them. During processing, they discovered one woman was an 18th Street gang member with multiple removals – including as recently as August.

Then on Wednesday, a Salvadoran MS-13 gang member was arrested in a group of three in McAllen. He also has been deported before.

Agents have nabbed a number of sex offenders in the holiday period. Officials announced this week they arrested an Ecuadorian national with previous convictions for aggravated sodomy, child molestation and rape from Atlanta, Georgia. He had served 12 years for the convictions.

Tucson Sector Chief Border Patrol Agent John Modlin announced this week that agents had arrested a Mexican citizen who is also a registered sex offender previously convicted of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Illinois.

In Fiscal Year 2021, there were 488 convicted sexual offenders among migrants coming across the border, up dramatically from 156 in FY2020 and 58 in FY2019. So far in FY2022, which began in October, there have been at least 64 sex-related convicted criminals among migrants.

Meanwhile, there have been 110 gang members apprehended at the border so far in FY2022. In FY2021, there were 348 gang members apprehended, down slightly from the 363 encountered in FY2020 and significantly from 976 in FY2019 – which has led some Republicans to fear they are sneaking past an overwhelmed Border Patrol.

Qasem Soleimani statue torched in western Iran
[Jpost] This is not the first time a statue of former IRGC Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani has been torched in Iran.

A statue of former Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani was torched on Wednesday night by unidentified individuals in Shahrekord in western Iran, according to the Iranian ISNA news agency.

Soleimani was assassinated by a US drone strike next to the Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020. The second anniversary of the assassination was marked this week.

Video reportedly from the scene on Wednesday night showed the statue engulfed in a pillar of fire in the middle of a roundabout.

Mohammad Ali Nekounam, the representative of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the Friday prayer leader of Shahrekord, compared the burning of the statue to the assassination of Soleimani, saying "this crime in the dark of night is like the same crime in Baghdad airport that in the privacy of the night and at the height of cowardice, and it will make Hajj Qasim position in the hearts more stable."

The statue of Soleimani had just been unveiled on Wednesday morning. The six-meter tall statue was worth about 150 million Tomans or about $35,500, according to ISNA.

Report: Democrats Seek to Disqualify Trump from 2024 Campaign amid Resurgence
[Breitbart] Democrats worried about Donald Trump’s resurgence in 2024 are reportedly seeking to disqualify him from mounting a comeback.

While Trump’s polling numbers have regained momentum, a dozen Democrats are fearing Trump’s presumable intention to mount a 2024 campaign to retake the White House, the Hill reported.

Among those Democrats reportedly seeking to deprive Trump of eligibility are reportedly Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), and Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN).
Dirtbags one and all
The Democrats have reportedly sought advice on how to leverage Section 3 of the 14 Amendment, which states:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President... who, having previously taken an oath... shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Reports indicate the Democrats are focusing on the words "insurrection or rebellion," tied to January 6, to disqualify Trump from seeking office.

#1  Democrats worried about Donald Trump’s resurgence in 2024 are reportedly seeking to disqualify him from mounting a comeback.

...I keep hearing about a 'constitutional crisis', but the only ones I actually see are those created by the Democratic leadership:

*Two likely unconstitutional impeachments against DJT:

The CJSCOTUS is required to be present:

"When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside..."
- Article 1, Sec. 3, Clause 6

CJSCOTUS was not present at either of these impeachments. This is not a mere technicality; this is a serious and likely fatal deficiency.

* It is - to be polite - unlikely that the Constitution allows for the impeachment of private citizens. DJT was Mister Trump when they pulled the second one, they likely had no power to do anything except be extremely cross with him.

* And while we're at it, members of the 1/6 Commission have flatly stated, on the record, that they wish to disqualify DJT from running again. Speaker WickedWitchOfTheWest kept jumping up and down screaming that 'he's impeached forever'. Well, yeah...but he wasn't convicted. Whereas a fella named Alcee Hastings - a Democratic congressman, no less - was impeached while a Federal judge, but was not disqualified from future office.

And if the 1/6 Commission vomits up something that in any way shape or form specifically or generally tries to block DJT from running or taking office again, we run up against Article 1, Section 9:

"No Bill of attainder or Ex post facto law shall be passed. "

Damn pesky Constitution, causing all those crises.

Suspect gets suspended sentence for extremist publication
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The court sentenced a resident of the Akhtyn district to one year conditionally, having found him guilty of publications calling for extremism on the Internet.

According to law enforcement officers, a resident of the village of Akhty posted videos on the Internet that contain calls for extremist activities.

The Akhtyn District Court gave him a suspended year, having found him guilty under the article on public calls for extremist activities via the Internet, RIA Dagestan reported on January 5. The man admitted his guilt, the verdict came into force, the message says.

The maximum punishment under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities using information and telecommunication networks, including the Internet) is five years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has not yet received any comments from the convict or his representatives regarding the verdict.

The "Caucasian Knot" also wrote that in October 2021, a court in Derbent sentenced a local resident to a suspended sentence, finding him guilty of calling for extremism through a social network.

The Drudge Report recognizes that Americans live in fear
[AmericanThinker] Yesterday's main headline on the Drudge Report was about January 6, 2021, and the right-wing "insurrection." You know, the one where the so-called insurrectionists didn't have any guns. Drudge claims that Americans fear a repeat. Really? That's news to me. (Incidentally, I agree with the rumor that Drudge sold his Drudge Report for millions but still allows the leftist new owners to use his name.)

I work for a multinational Fortune 100 company. I go to country taverns out in the sticks — because that's where I'm from. My life is full of diversity, yet I haven't seen any Americans cowering in the corners of rustic bars or fancy offices, fearing another "insurrection" in which the only folks who were killed were unarmed conservatives.

Since when is marching through a public building without weapons an insurrection? Don't believe everything the rancid media shove down your throat! (How come when leftist groups commandeer police stations, this is not called an insurrection?)

What Americans fear, Matt Drudge, is an American military being subversively weakened by design to accept defeat when the real enemy comes knocking. (Hint: The real enemy is not Russia, Russia, Russia!)

Americans fear being victims of violent crime, economic depression, and endless lockdowns.
A long list of the things Americans fear follows in this vein.

What happened to Ted Cruz?
No single politician will end up being perfectly attuned to the needs of the voters. There is a reason Senator Cruz did not beat out Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, and didn’t try to in 2020.
[AmericanThinker] I know from the volume of email I've received on it that Ted Cruz's comments on January 6, 2021, calling it "a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol," have outraged many conservatives. Ted was once the darling of intellectually inclined conservatives, but I think the bloom is now off that rose.

Tucker Carlson used video of Cruz's comments as the keystone of a segment on how Republicans are being cowardly and granting Democrats their false premises on the riot at the Capitol being an insurrection or even a "terrorist attack." As Tucker put it, he was delivering talking points for Merrick Garland.

#10  While Cruz isn't an establishment cuck, I still think he believes that overall it is a net positive force and works to support the parts he believes in.

This was just signaling to what he thinks is the libertarians and pro-larger government of the GOP to set up his run for 2024.

I doubt he is aware of how much towards small government and anti-establishment the GOP and libertarians have shifted towards and now is covered in the backblast of his very ignorant remarks. This one statement has pretty much doomed any 2024 hopes he had, especially if Trump and/or DeSantis are running and has put a very large hole in his re-election prospects too.

I think he will survive re-election, but barely.

Have archaeologists finally discovered the long-lost temple of Hercules?
[JPost] Researchers in Spain found the remains of a series of buildings which they believe to be the temple of Hercules (or as he was known to the Romans, Melqart).

Using information obtained through documentary and archaeological data, researchers from the Territorial Delegation and the University of Seville conducted a number of research trips to the area between Chiclana de Frontera and San Fernando in Andalusia, Spain.

The information obtained from these trips revealed a different environment from what was previously believed to have existed in the area. Researchers now believe there was a coastline in the area that was anthropized with a possible dock.

The temple of Hercules is well-known to have been a popular pilgrimage site thousands of years ago and was believed to have been visited by the likes of Julius Caesar, but its location has been lost, and archaeologists have been seeking it for years.

The Vaccine Is A Dud, But That Won't Stop Push For Digital IDs
[AmericanThinker] To understand why the government seems determined to tag every citizen of every age with a digital ID, it is first necessary to understand the attitudinal evolution of political elites in Western countries. These elites appear to be losing their faith in the classical liberal emphasis on individual human freedom that was intellectually nurtured in the West by such thinkers as Kant, Voltaire, Locke, Bastiat, Mill, and Spencer and attained its clearest concrete political expression in the American Constitutional Republic. The essence of this revolution in political thought and practice is that it gave common people protection against the potential abuse of power of their ruling elites. Such protections included political theory that rooted individual rights in natural law and Divine Will as well as practical institutions such as the division of power between the states and central government, the further division of those powers between the legislature, executive, and judiciary, the rule of law, courts of law, the Bill of Rights, privacy rights, property rights, elections and so forth.

Peacekeepers can use weapons in case of gang attack

[REGNUM] CSTO peacekeepers in Kazakhstan have the right to use weapons in the event of an attack by armed gangs. This was stated by the Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas.

"Yes, in this case, weapons will be used. The military personnel of the collective peacekeeping forces have such rights," he told RIA Novosti, answering the relevant question.

As reported by IA REGNUM , on January 6, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said that the transfer of the peacekeeping contingent of the CSTO countries to Kazakhstan has begun.

CSTO Secretary General announces "a turning point for the better" of the situation in Kazakhstan
[REGNUM] CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said that there is already a turning point for the better in Kazakhstan. Zas told about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"The situation is difficult, but it is already possible to draw a cautious conclusion based on the events that took place at night and this afternoon ... A definite change is already being observed, for the better. And in the end, we hope this trend will strengthen." he said.

As reported by IA REGNUM , earlier the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev appealed to the CSTO for help in connection with the riots that gripped the republic. Peacekeepers from Russia arrived in the country. Also, servicemen from Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will participate in the peacekeeping mission.

Psaki about Kazakhstan's appeal to the CSTO: the US authorities have questions
[REGNUM] The US authorities are not sure of the legality of Kazakhstan's request for the introduction of forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was announced on January 6 by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki at a briefing.

The US authorities have questions about whether it was legal or not, she said.

"We (the US government) do not know this," said the White House spokeswoman.

As reported by IA REGNUM , earlier the Secretary General of the CSTO Stanislav Zas said that the redeployment of peacekeeping units of the CSTO countries to Kazakhstan should be completed on January 7.

Durand Line Fencing 94% Completed: Pakistan
[TOLO] Hmmmm...walls/fences work? Somebody tell Brandon
Pakistan's military says that it would complete the fencing along the Durand Line.

"The fencing alongside the (Durand Line) is continuing and work is completed 94 percent. Pakistan will finish it. This is good for the security of the people on both sides," said Babar Iftikhar, spokesman for Pakistan’s armed forces.

The dispute over the Durand Line between Kabul and Islamabad is apparently escalating.

The Islamic Emirate said that the decision over the fate of the Durand Line belongs to the people living on both sides of the line.

"The Durand Line is an issue of the whole nation, not the government. It doesn’t belong to the government. We will give the responsibility to the nation, so the nation will make the decision," said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai.

Earlier, a video on social media showed Islamic Emirate forces destroying the Durand Line fencing and engaging in a dispute with the Pakistani military.

A Pakistan military spokesman said that the fencing was aimed to protect the people along the Durand Line.

The Durand Line has been a controversial issue between Kabul and Islamabad for a long time.

The former Afghan government also showed opposition to the fencing along the border.

"There is a possibility of inflicting damage to Pakistan as well because of this (fencing) issue. Pakistan said it was just an issue in a single area, but it is not, because it (tension on Durand) occurred in Nangarhar, Nimroz, Kandahar and it may occur in other areas. But anyway, there is a need for dialogue," said Tahir Khan, a journalist from Pakistan.

"It is a border for us. It is not a line. I am a Pahstun but I accept it (Duand Line) as a border. But the Pashtuns in Afghanistan are my brothers and sisters," said Asif Durani, former deputy ambassador of Pakistan to Kabul.

The Pakistan military has been fencing the Durand Line for the past five years. The length of the Durand Line is approximately 2,500 km.

The fencing of the Durand Line has also faced a strong reaction from the public in Afghanistan. The video showing an alleged member of the Islamic Emirate destroying the fencing was widely celebrated by Afghan social media users.

The mass is held in the Church of the Nativity, which is considered along with the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem as one of the main Christian shrines. It is jointly managed by the Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Armenian Apostolic Churches.

Bethlehem is believed by Christians around the world as the birthplace of Jesus Christ. The city, venerated also by Jews and Muslims, is located on the West Bank of River Jordan, 10 kilometres from Jerusalem.

Stephanie Grisham says group of ex-Trump officials to meet next week to discuss how to 'stop' him
[CNN] Former White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Thursday that more than a dozen of her former Trump administration colleagues plan to meet next week to try and stop former President Donald Trump as he continues to "manipulate people and divide our country."

"Next week, a group of former Trump staff are going to come together, administration officials are going to come together and we're going to talk about how we can formally do some things to try and stop him and also, the extremism, that that kind of violence, rhetoric that has been talked about and continues to divide our country," Grisham told CNN's John Berman and Brianna Keilar in an interview on "New Day."

Grisham, who was also chief of staff to former first lady Melania Trump, declined to reveal who will be joining her in the efforts, but said there would be "about 15" of her former colleagues, including some who worked inside the White House. Some of the officials, she said, were junior to her, while others were senior. A few of the officials had "informal chats," did outreach to others, and conducted "some Zooms, some conference calls," culminating in the partially in-person formal meeting next week, according to Grisham.

Several people involved in the effort who spoke to CNN said the group currently includes between 15 to 20 individuals who served in the Trump administration, but have since soured on the former President, and who believe his indisputable control of the Republican Party is negatively impacting the country.

Among those invited to participate in the meeting were former senior officials like Chris Krebs, who had directed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency inside the Department of Homeland Security, and former top White House aides like John Bolton, whom Trump ousted from his role as national security adviser in September 2019.

Bolton spokeswoman Sarah Tinsley confirmed her planned attendance to CNN. A representative for Krebs declined to comment.

Others who plan to participate include former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci, who has accused Trump of having "perverted" the GOP; Miles Taylor, a former top DHS official who penned an anonymous essay during Trump's tenure in which he claimed to be working to restrain the President from within his administration; and Olivia Troye, a former homeland security and counterterrorism adviser to Vice President Mike Pence.

Grisham said she is personally hoping to "travel the country and talk to people who are believers like I once was" and "explain who (Trump) really is," also calling the former President a "master manipulator."

"I'm hoping that people will talk to somebody like me or some of these other people who really did believe in Trump and understand you can be proud of his policies, you can still be behind a lot of the America First policies that he implemented, which I am, but it doesn't have to be him. It just doesn't have to be this man who has caused such chaos and destruction in the country," she told CNN.

She said that the group of former Trump officials will discuss "what are the most effective tactics in order to carry that message," adding that she's "really hoping for a good fight in 2022."

The group is also expected to include certain individuals who "perhaps have not been as overtly public about their criticism (of Trump) to date," according to a person familiar with the group, who did not wish to reveal the identities of those participants at this time.

In an interview with CNN, Troye said there are "many" ex-Trump officials "who remain very concerned and want to come together to figure out how we are going to counter Trump and Trumpism going into this next election and the election after that."

Grisham met Wednesday on Capitol Hill with the House select committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. On January 6, she was Melania Trump's chief of staff at the time, but resigned from her role that day, effectively immediately, as a result of the insurrection, becoming one of the first Trump officials to do so.

Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on CSTO troops in Kazakhstan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Russian Federation will continue close consultations with the Kazakh side and other allies in the CSTO to analyze and develop, if necessary, further effective steps, primarily to facilitate the conduct of the counter-terrorist operation by the law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, ensure the security of all civilians of this country, without exception, as well as vital important critical infrastructure facilities, their unblocking and return under the control of the Kazakh authorities. We are interested in the early restoration of normal life in the Republic.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin
[ColonelCassad] In my opinion, the most interesting thing about this attempt by unidentified forces is what actually happened with this increase in gas prices.

Was this the last straw from the crazed authorities, who actually made a self-destructive act of tearing themselves away from reality (which was later used by external forces against them), or was it internal sabotage with quite predictable consequences (as it is estimated in the versions about what kind of organization either Nazarbayev himself or Tokayev could have been protesting). I will return to these questions in a separate article.

According to published estimates, the total number of the contingent will be about 4 to 4,500 troops, of which the Russian Federation will field 3000.

On the whole, rather modest volumes. The announced terms of the operation are about a month.

In Alma-Ata, a sweeping operation has already begun more seriously. It is carried out by the Kazakhs themselves.

According to preliminary data, the total amount of damage for two days of brawling was about $100 million, but I think this is a seriously underestimated amount.

It is also worth noting that Western oil companies operating in Kazakhstan also called for the stabilization of the situation in the country.

China supported measures aimed at stabilizing the situation in Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev continues to remain silent.

President of Kazakhstan asked for help in Russian
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Kazakhstan articles can be seen here, here, here, here, here, and here.
by Alexander Kots

[KP] Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that his country was attacked by international terrorists

The President of Kazakhstan spoke on national television for the third time in a day. And for the third time he did it in Russian, although the state language in the country is only Kazakh.

Russian has the status of an official one, but in recent years Kazakhstan has followed the path of velvet de-Russification, reducing the Russian language in the field of education, document circulation and the service sector.

Nevertheless, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev preferred to voice all his emergency calls on it.

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev:

Real terrorists, bandits are rampaging at present in Alma-Ata and other cities. They are seizing infrastructure buildings and, most importantly, the premises where small arms are located, - Tokayev said at a meeting with members of the Security Council. - They are fighting with cadets of schools, currently there is a battle near Alma-Ata with an airborne unit of the Ministry of Defense. These terrorist gangs are, in fact, international, they have undergone serious training abroad and their attack on Kazakhstan should be viewed as an act of aggression. Relying on the Collective Security Treaty, today I turned to the heads of state of the CSTO with a request to assist in overcoming this terrorist threat. This is already undermining the integrity of the state and an attack on our citizens, who ask me, as the head of state, to urgently help them. I consider an appeal to the CSTO partners absolutely appropriate and timely. I think that the people of Kazakhstan will support this decision. Together we win.

Tokayev is sure that the riot in the country was organized by international terrorists. According to the President of Kazakhstan, an airport, five aircraft, including foreign ones, have been seized in Almaty. The city was destroyed and vandalized, "residents were victims of terrorist attacks."

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev:

This is a very difficult page in the history of our state. The main thing now is to protect the country and its citizens, - Tokayev emphasized.

In addition to Kazakhstan, the Collective Security Treaty Organization includes Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Joint exercises of the CSTO collective forces are held regularly, but they have not had to carry out real combat missions to this day.

It was no coincidence that the head of Kazakhstan emphasized that those who are called "protesters" are in fact international terrorists trained abroad. Because according to the CSTO charter, its members can provide military assistance only in case of external aggression. Thus, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev characterizes what is happening in the country not as internal political events, but as a large-scale invasion from outside. Even by the forces of the citizens of Kazakhstan.

In theory, the CSTO forces can at least take control of potentially dangerous sections of the state's border, from where help can come to militants inside the country. And also block the restless cities. If necessary, the member states of the Organization are able to quickly transfer peacekeeping contingents to Kazakhstan, which will perform law enforcement functions, while local security forces will cleanse the cities from bandits and marauders.

Most of these opportunities, of course, are in Russia, which has a wealth of peacekeeping experience. In addition, about 3.5 million Russians live in Kazakhstan, who also need protection these days. The subdivisions of Belarus, which itself in August 2022 almost became a victim of the color revolution, can also join Moscow.

The help of other states can be symbolic. Kyrgyzstan, for example, she has already stated that she is ready to help her neighbors with everything she needs. Consultations in connection with the situation in Kazakhstan were announced.

Putin won't tolerate the seeds of a new color revolution in Kazakhstan
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
Kazakhstan articles can be seen here, here, here, here, here, and here.
[Rusvesna] The fact that the CSTO sent peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan is not surprising: such a mechanism plays into the hands of the Russian president, who would not tolerate a new color revolution at his side, said the famous American political scientist Peter Zalmaev.

"It was predictable. Such a mechanism is the least toxic for Putin, it is a kind of alternative to NATO: they say, look what we are capable of. This mechanism, the fourth chapter of the CSTO, is being used for the first time. It would be naive to expect that Putin would tolerate the seeds of yet another color revolution in Central Asia. This is simply unrealistic," said the expert.

According to Zalmayev, Putin understands that if he is very tightly drawn into the affairs of Kazakhstan, a game on two fronts will begin, an open gestalt with Ukraine, it is worth remembering the talks in Geneva.

"It is clear that it will be very difficult for Putin to operate on two fronts, so in the near future he will minimize Russia's participation in the affairs of Kazakhstan. Much will also depend on the consolidation of the elites. I am sure that the dismissal of Nazarbayev from the post of chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan was a deliberate agreement," the political scientist said.

Nazarbayev remains the father of the nation, it is impossible to say that they have finally got rid of him, and all this is done by mutual agreement, Zalmayev is convinced. In his opinion, Putin will be happy to withdraw the CSTO troops back.

"It is impossible to say that the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, 'leaked' Nazarbayev, gave him to be torn apart by the crowd. Because Tokayev remains Nazarbayev's henchman and successor, to whom he owes absolutely everything. They are very tied to each other, including in everything related to information about each other's offshores.

Everyone knows how the flight of the late Aliyev, Nazarbayev's former son-in-law, who for several years 'leaked' telephone conversations and documents, ended. Nobody wants such a repetition, but the elites have mutual compromising evidence," the political scientist summed up.

Austin judge sets $50K bond for child sex predator after previous judge recommended $1 million
[FoxNews] A homeless, convicted sexual predator, arrested in Austin, Texas, for felony sexual assault of a child had his bond set at $50,000 by a magistrate judge in late December, despite a previous judge having earlier recommended a $1,000,000 bond.

"It’s just unconscionable that a judge that took an oath to keep the community safe, to protect children, would do something that would take a known career criminal and violent predator and put him back out in the street," Austin Police Department Senior Officer Justin Berry told Fox News. "It’s just appalling."

The magistrate said she followed the proper procedures when considering the bond.

Austin Police dispatched to a Dec. 27 criminal trespass call where they reported witnessing Ronald Martin Jr., a convicted sex offender, "performing oral sex on what appeared to be a young juvenile male," an affidavit reviewed by Fox News stated.

Police booked Martin on Dec. 28 into the Travis County jail on an open warrant for failure to register as a sex offender while they continued to investigate the new allegation. Martin, who is listed as a lifetime high-risk sexual offender by the Texas Department of Public Safety, has previous convictions for multiple child sex crime convictions, including at least one with a 7-year boy, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Police later identified the juvenile in the alleged December assault as a 14-year-old from Kentucky. He said he met Martin on Instagram, where he went by the aliases of "Jaden" and "Kevin," according to an interview with police.

Following interviews with Martin and the boy, Austin municipal court Judge Patrick McNelis signed a warrant for Martin’s arrest on Dec. 29 for second-degree felony sexual assault of a child. McNelis also signed a recommended bond of $1 million citing, in part, that "the defendant is currently in custody for failure to register as a sex offender."

The next day, Martin appeared for a bond hearing before Judge Christyne Harris Schultz. She signed off on a $50,000 surety bond for Martin, which meant he could walk free if he posted just 10% of the bond amount, or $5,000.

"As a judge, I follow the code of criminal procedure, in every case," Harris Schultz told Fox News in a phone call. "And in determining the amount and the conditions of bail, [I] consider the financial resources and their ability to make bail, and the safety of the community and the alleged victim as well."

Low bail set by judges for sexual offenders like Martin leaves Austin officers with "a sense of hopelessness," Berry, who is running as a Republican for a seat in the Texas state legislature, added.

Austin has a "culture" issue when it comes to policing and crime, he said. He highlighted that city judges are appointed by the city council, which he believes is taking a relaxed approach to crime.

In 2020, the Austin City Council voted to cut police funding by up to $150 million.

"The culture has really got to change," Berry, who clarified that he is not the department's spokesman, told Fox News. "I think [the] city of Austin, our elected officials, really got to stop meddling" and stop giving "woke dictations to our magistrates."

Martin remains in jail on a $50,000 bond for the sexual assault charge and $10,000 for his alleged failure to register as a sex offender. His next court hearing on the assault charge is scheduled for Jan. 20.

#9  ruprecht, IIRC, the way that bail bondsmen work is that you pay them a percentage of the bail (10%?), and they pay the court. If you show up for court (which is what bail is supposed to do), the bondsmen get their money back, but you don't. If you don't show up, the bondsmen are out of money, but they can pursue you to get you. Plus the court will issue a bench warrant for your arrest.

Fortunately, I've never been arrested, so this is all stuff I've picked up from reading.

Former Space Company Executive Alleges Serial Lawbreaking By Democratic Governor
[DAILYCALLER] A former aerospace company executive accused embattled Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham
...Dem governor of New Mexico. People who don't support her are QAnon Lizard People, so shut up, damn you...
on Monday, as well as several of her appointees, of retaliating against him after he filed a whistleblower complaint. Zach DeGregorio, the former Chief Financial Officer of Spaceport America, alleges that one of Grisham’s political appointees, Alicia Keyes, encouraged him to falsify an economic impact study. He also alleges that Keyes mishandled a bond refinancing for the purpose of defrauding the state. When DeGregorio attempted to report the wrongdoing, he claimed, he was threatened with investigations and a firing.

DeGregorio resigned from his position at the company in June 2020, shortly after he filed a complaint alleging that Spaceport America Executive Director Daniel Hicks violated several state laws, which led to "possible waste and abuse of taxpayer funds." In the lawsuit, DeGregorio adds that Hicks attempted to break into his email account and accessed emails DeGregorio sent to Keyes about Hicks’ involvement in alleged procurement fraud.

After tracking software was placed on DeGregorio’s tech devices, he claims, he resigned.

A spokeswoman for Spaceport America declined the Daily Caller’s request for comment, citing an ongoing investigation.

Is this the equivalent of putting a Horse Head in Pritzker's bed?
[ZeroHedge] Chicago police have confirmed that a high-end Burberry store on the city's central Michigan Ave. was robbed no less than two times this week, with the second break-in coming early Thursday morning. The first instance was Tuesday morning, with the burglaries being especially brazen given they took place in daylight hours, or just before dawn. The Tuesday incident involved five men in a White SUV, but apparently with no other leads or identifiers. So naturally they hit the same site again, plus others.

But as CWB Chicago details of the second break-in, it appears the criminals are positively boasting about the ease of mass theft in a seemingly "lawless" windy city: "A group of armed burglars broke into two Lakeview convenience stores, dumped their stolen cash registers in front of Gov. JB Pritzker’s home, and then burglarized the Burberry store on Michigan Avenue early Thursday."

Minneapolis mayor, incoming interim chief plan to hire more officers
[STARTRIBUNE] Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey
...The inept and ineffective (but I repeat myself) Dem class president mayor of Minneapolis during the George Floyd race riots. Frey issued the order for police to evacuate the Third Precinct so it could safely be burned to the ground, and has since dithered, waffled, and obfuscated on a near daily basis. The city is a Dem stronghold, so he'll probably be reelected...
and incoming interim Police Chief Amelia Huffman rolled out a new crime-fighting plan Wednesday that calls for hiring dozens of coppers, expanding partnerships with other law enforcement agencies and beefing up units focused on investigating violent mostly peaceful robberies and carjackings. At a City Hall news conference, Frey said the department plans to hire five recruit classes to help close a staffing gap created by the departures of hundreds of officers since the murder of St. George Floyd
...the patron saint of Minneapolis, a sterling example for our children and indeed for us all. St. George was martyed by the Devil's agents in blue while standing on a street corner preaching tolerance and racial justice or something like that...
in the spring of 2020. For now, the mayor said, the department was directing its resources to areas that need it most, including assigning officers to neighborhoods where stolen vehicles are frequently abandoned.

"It's clear that violent mostly peaceful crime and the fear of violent mostly peaceful crime is hurting our city," Huffman said. "In fact, it's hurting our entire metro area."

Frey's comments came two months after a Minneapolis election in which voters rejected a ballot measure that would have replaced the Police Department with an agency that would take more of a public health approach to crime prevention.

Since the start of 2020, the department has lost roughly 300 officers, creating significant staffing shortages. Whether the department should return to its size in early 2020, when it had about 888 officers, is sure to be hotly debated in the coming months. The Minneapolis charter sets a minimum requirement for staffing based on population levels, abut 715 total employees.

Though the Nov. 2 ballot measure was defeated, proponents argued that the campaign around Question 2, as the proposal was called, changed the conversation around policing. More people, they argued, were open to consider alternative strategies for keeping communities safe beyond traditional law enforcement.

David Bicking of the advocacy group Communities United Against Policy Brutality said any move to hire more officers should be based on "best practices and research nationwide" and not be a "knee-jerk" reaction to rising crime.

A study examining patrol officers' workloads has been delayed, Bicking said, adding that its findings would have been helpful months ago when city officials were negotiating the budget.

Defense: Whitmer 'kidnapping plot' disintegrating as FBI loses credibility
Good.
[JUSTTHENEWS] When law enforcement touted foiling a months-long kidnapping plot of Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
...Her Excellency, the dictator of Michigan, 2020 Dem VP contender who never got off the ground...
in October 2020 that spanned several states and included encrypted chats and explosives, many believed it was an open-and-shut case.

But more than a year later, critics say the arrest and convictions of the lead FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
agent and an FBI confidential informant blurred the line between turban and confidential informant. Moreover, three planned witnesses have been accused of crimes and won't be testifying in the March 8 trial in Grand Rapids as defense attorneys question the FBI's credibility.

The former lead FBI agent credited with foiling the plot, Richard Trask, was arrested on a domestic violence charge after allegedly smashing his wife's head into a desk after leaving a swinger sex party and was later fired.

A second FBI agent, Henrik Impola, also won't be testifying after he was accused of perjury in a separate case, Buzzfeed News reported.

Buzzfeed reported that Jayson Chambers, another agent, used the Whitmer plot to promote his side security consulting firm called Exeintel.

On Christmas Day, defense attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the conspiracy charge levied against five men accused of plotting to kidnap Whitmer. They requested 258 out-of-court statements be admitted into evidence, claiming the communication shows that "government agents and informants concocted, hatched, and pushed this 'kidnapping plan' from the beginning."

"Essentially, the evidence here demonstrates egregious overreaching by the government's agents, and by the informants those agents handled," the filing says. "The key to the government's plan was to turn general discontent with Governor Whitmer's COVID-19 restrictions into a crime that could be prosecuted."

, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, has claimed that its fighters killed 10 Nigerian soldiers in Borno State.

According to ISWAP in a post on Wednesday, the soldiers were killed when an explosives-laden vehicle rammed into a military post in Marte, located near the shores of Lake Chad, Borno State.

SaharaReporters gathered that the holy warriors had on Tuesday engaged the Nigerian troops at the military post in the community in a shootout.

The terror group added that it razed down the facility, while armoured tank and military operational vehicles were captured.

ISWAP in the post said 10 people were killed including soldiers and children during the attack.

The terror group added that it razed down many military operational vehicles.

Since the death of JAS leader, Abubakar Shekau
...the lunatic leader of Boko Haram who has been reported dead at least eleven times, pledged his body and soul to ISIS, told his fighters to hang it up once or twice, and been fired by the Caliph and refused to step down. Last seen in 2017, sneaking into Cameroon while wearing a burka...
, ISWAP has been consolidating its grip in locations around Lake Chad.

Just recently, it appointed Wali Sani Shuwaram, a 45-year-old as the new Leader (Wali) of ISWAP in Lake Chad.

The sect’s membership has swollen with the defection of hundreds of Boko Haram fighters under Shekau.

The Nigerian Army has repeatedly claimed that insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses.

The terror group has caused over 100,000 deaths and displaced millions of individuals mainly in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states.

The gunnies also engaged the Nigerian troops in a shootout.

The terror group in a post added that it razed down the facility, while armoured tank and military operational vehicles were captured.

ISWAP, which split from the mainstream Boko Haram in 2016, has become a dominant group, focusing on military targets and high-profile attacks, including against aid workers.

The Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), has attacked Wultihiya, a town in Borno State.

Wultihiya, a predominantly Christian community, is located in the Askira Uba Local Government Area of the state.

SaharaReporters learnt that the gunmen also burnt down the community’s church, some houses and two cars.

The attack, which occurred on Thursday was not repelled, residents told SaharaReporters.

Residents who had retired into their homes were forced to flee into the bushes as the gunmen stormed the village, shooting sporadically.

Big Left-Wing 'Dark Money' Groups Fund Schumer's Secretive Anti-Filibuster Ally
[THEEPOCHTIMES] Fix Our Senate, the obscure outfit leading a coalition of 70 liberal advocacy groups backing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer
...Senator-for-life from New York, renowned for his love of standing in front of cameras and microphones. Schumer has been a professional politician since 1975, when disco was in flower, which is 46.08818 years, or 322.61726 years in dog years. Senate minority leader as of 2017...
’s (D-N.Y.) anti-filibuster drive, is a left-wing "dark-money pop-up," according to a political nonprofit finance expert.

"Fix Our Senate may present itself as a standalone, grassroots activist group, but it’s actually a front for the Sixteen Thirty Fund, itself part of a $1.7 billion left-wing ’dark- money pop-up’ empire run by the shadowy consulting firm Arabella Advisors," said Capital Research Center (CRC) senior investigative researcher Hayden Ludwig.

"We call these fronts ’pop-ups’ because they’re websites which pop into existence, run attack campaigns, and disappear in an instant and almost never reveal their connection to Arabella or its nonprofits," Ludwig told The Epoch Times on Jan. 4.

The CRC is a conservative nonpartisan foundation that specializes in tracking trends among the most influential charities, nonprofits, and special-interest groups affecting the public policy process in the nation’s capital.

"We study unions, environmentalist groups, and a wide variety of nonprofit and activist organizations. We also keep an eye on crony capitalists who seek to profit by taking advantage of government regulations and by getting their hands on taxpayers’ money," CRC says of its purpose on its website.

Schumer promised earlier this week to seek a vote by Jan. 17 on abolishing or reforming the filibuster—the Senate’s "cloture" rule that requires 60 votes to end debate and vote on a proposal—if Senate Republicans block consideration of two election reform packages that are top priorities of the Democrats’ progressive, or far-left, faction.

Republicans argue the reforms—the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act—severely limit or eliminate entirely the use of photo IDs and related ballot security measures, and require that all proposed changes to state election laws have prior Department of Justice (DOJ) approval.

Bandits Attack Five Zamfara Communities, Kill Many Residents
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Bandits have killed many people in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara State.

The villages attacked are Tungar Geza, Rafin Gero, Kurfar Danya, Kewaye and Tungar Na More.

A source, who spoke to VOA Hausa, said the attacks started from Barikin Daji in what was described as a fight between the bandidos and Yan Sakai (the unofficial vigilante members).

"They had been fighting since yesterday (Tuesday night). What scared us was how they were able to displace Kurfar Danya. You know it was said that Kurfar Danya was impenetrable, but I swear to God, they (banidts) have burnt down the whole village.

"They moved to Tungar Na More and to Rafin Gero. As I speak to you now, some houses are still on fire in Rafin Gero. Tungar Isa and Barayar Zaki are also some of the villages that were burnt down," he said.

While he could not confirm the number of those killed, the source said several people who made it to Anka town could not find their family members.

Deadly attacks have raged across Zamfara State where bandidos have thrived.

Farming and herding communities in the state have long been terrorised by gangs, who raid villages, stealing cattle and kidnap residents for ransom.

In 2019, the state government entered a peace agreement with the button men.

About 15 brand new Hilux vehicles and cash gifts were also given to leaders of different 'repentant' gangs of bandidos by the governor in 2020.

But despite all these, communities in the state are still being attacked and residents kidnapped and or killed.

Disturbing allegations emerge about nonprofit hired to end Bitter Lake encampment in Seattle
[SEATTLETIMES] When the volunteer-run organization Anything Helps, headed by a man who said he could do homeless encampment outreach better, approached Seattle
...a formerly lovely city in Washington state, governed by communists, anarchists, dipshits, and other sorts of incompetents. Home to Starbuck's, Boeing (at least for now), and Amazon, Microsoft, and Costco, the city became rich beyond its wildest dreams. All that money attracted the usual sort of grifting politician, and it's well on its way to chewing off the hand that feeds it...
Public Schools this summer and offered to end an encampment outside Broadview-Thompson K-12, the school district agreed.

The district was under pressure from people in the surrounding Bitter Lake neighborhood to remove the 60-plus-person encampment, and had argued with the city of Seattle for much of the past year about whose responsibility it was and how it should be done.

The school district didn’t devote much money to the effort, and the offer from Anything Helps was appealing because of its price tag: The district thought it would only be paying the costs associated with getting people inside. The group’s leader, Mike Mathias, who used to be homeless himself, and his volunteer team were all unpaid. The district ultimately reimbursed him for more than $20,000 for those costs.

The district did not run a background check or confirm Mathias’ employment history, according to a spokesperson for Seattle Public Schools. Neither did the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, which began working with Mathias on getting housing vouchers to more than a dozen of the homeless people.

If these agencies had, they might have reconsidered putting Mathias and Anything Helps in charge. It was a young agency, run entirely by volunteers and headed by someone who was the subject of protection orders filed by two women who alleged stalking and harassment.

'Jaw-Dropping' Gains for GOP in Florida as COVID Refugees Register RED
[PJMEDIA] Florida Republicans outnumber registered Democrats for the first time in the state’s history, as Blue State COVID refugees tick the Big R on their voter registrations.

Twitter user TimDCpolitico took Florida’s voter rolls from March 31 of 2020 and compared them to the latest figures. The results, he says, are "jaw-dropping," and I can’t think of a better way to describe them.

Out of over 14 million registered voters, last year Democrats held the edge with 37.38% of registrations compared to the GOP’s 35.28%. (The remaining four million or so — around 26% — were independents or members of minor parties.)

Democrats held a two-point advantage, but higher Republican turnout has made the state safely red in the last two presidential elections.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement did not release its annual report in 2021, a departure from standard agency practice since at least 2011. In each of the last nine years, ICE released the report in the final weeks of the calendar year, most recently on Dec. 23, 2020 during the Trump administration.

It is unclear whether ICE has completed the report, which provides a lengthy summary of the agency’s enforcement and removal operations, as well as immigration-related security threats. A spokeswoman for the immigration agency told the Washington Free Beacon a release date for the report has not been determined.

The absence of the 2021 annual report has prompted outrage on Capitol Hill. Sen. Josh Hawley (R., Mo.) questioned the motives behind the White House's secrecy on the topic of immigration.

"During record-breaking levels of illegal immigration, DHS and ICE have taken steps to dismantle interior enforcement operations that keep our communities safe from criminal aliens," Hawley told the Free Beacon. "I’ve been calling for transparency into these radical policy changes for months. If ICE is intentionally hiding their annual report from the public, then it’s safe to assume it doesn’t show any improvement; it shows failure."

The administration's decision not to release the ICE report marks the latest example of Biden's failure to live up to transparency standards set by both its Democratic and Republican predecessors. The Free Beacon in November reported that the White House violated a congressional statute with its failure to release its report on the number of illegal immigrants colonists in the United States. The 2021 fiscal year saw more recorded illegalBiden Withholds Annual Report on Deportations
border crossings than any time in U.S. history.
