Somebody needed a lasso. [NYPOST] An unsettled man climbed onto the tracks at the Washington Square Park subway stop — delaying trains for about an hour as emergency responders convinced him to climb back up, according to cops and witnesses.
The 42-year-old jumped down just after 2:30 p.m. and was walking between the north and southbound A/C lines at the West Fourth Street—Washington Square station, authorities said.
EMS workers and people on the platform yelled to try to coax the man to come back up onto the platform — with some straphangers even throwing down money to persuade him to climb to safety.
The unnamed man, wearing a floral v-neck shirt, can be seen in a video talking to dozens of people on the platform as he paced between the tracks but what he said was inaudible.
He eventually decided to come back onto the platform around 3:30 p.m.

[NYPOST] One of the suspects arrested in the disappearance of a well-known British journalist confessed to killing him and the indigenous expert he was with in Brazil earlier this month, a federal police investigator said Wednesday.
The confession comes as human remains were found in the Amazon area where 57-year-old freelance news houndDom Phillips, who has written for the Guardian and Washington Post, and Bruno Pereira, 41, had disappeared on June 5.
The remains have not yet been identified, according to Justice Minister Anderson Torres.
The two men were last seen passing through a remote part of the Amazon rainforest by boat.
Two suspects, fishermen Amarildo da Costa de Oliveira and Oseney da Costa de Oliveira, have been arrested by Brazil’s federal police in connection to their disappearance.
Police said Amarildo, whose nickname is Pelado, confessed to shooting and killing both men Tuesday night. He then led authorities to the area where remains were found.
[NYPOST] Florida churchgoers helped save two maiden of tender yearss from being kidnapped after one of the victims mouthed "help me, this is not my dad," authorities said.
The two girls, both aged under 12, were leaving a restaurant outside Tampa on Sunday night when 37-year-old David Daniels approached them and said he’d "supervise" their walk home, FOX13 reported.
Daniels allegedly started hitting one of the girls over the head multiple times and continued to follow them, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
The girls, who didn’t know Daniels, then jumped on their bikes and rode towards a nearby church to ask for help.
Daniels is accused of following the girls into the church and claiming they were his daughters.
At one point, he allegedly put one of the girls in a headlock.
"One of the little girls was mouthing to me, ’Please help me, this is not my dad,’" a woman, who was inside the church but didn’t want to be named, said.

[NYPOST] Attempted presidential assassin turned musician John Hinckley Jr. is free from court oversight, but not yet free to rock and roll.
Hinckley — who attempted to kill President Ronald Reagan in 1981 — was set to perform at a sold-out concert in Brooklyn next month, but the venue where the gig was booked has cancelled the show.
Market Hotel, in Bushwick, announced Wednesday that the July 8 event was nixed.
"We don’t see the need to allow someone who did something awful to skip the line and play even our middle size independent community stage," the event space said in a statement posted to Instagram.
"And in doing so put our vulnerable communities at risk (without their consent) — especially if that artist wouldn’t have sold the tickets without the story of who they are and the violent mostly peaceful thing they did."
Hinckley, 67, shot up Reagan on March 30, 1981 outside the Hilton in Washington, DC. He maimed the 40th president, his press secretary James Brady, police officer Thomas Delahanty and Secret Service agent Tim MCarthy.
Reagan recovered from his injuries, but Brady spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair while Delahanty suffered nerve damage.
[ZDNet] On Thursday, eBay announced the launch of its new live, interactive shopping platform called eBay Live. [NYPOST] A customer’s racist tirade was caught on camera as she berated workers at a Florida seafood restaurant while demanding a refund in addition to her leftovers to go.
The startling encounter unfolded at King Cajun Crawfish in Orlando on Monday, according to workers at the restaurant.
A woman repeatedly called the owner a "Chinese b—h" and told her to "go back to her country" while complaining about her food, the eatery said, according to a video of the incident.
"She ordered snow crabs and fried shrimp. At the end of the meal to pay, she said the shrimp was spoiled (it wasn’t) and she ate 3. We said sorry we cannot refund it and she started saying racist remarks," King Cajun Crawfish wrote on its Instagram page.
"We’re gonna make sure you go on Google," the irate customer said while filming Kristen Nguyen behind the counter, according to cellphone and security video.
"You’re a Chinese b—h, not me," continued the apparent instigator, clad in jeans and a black T-shirt.
"Okay, I got you on camera calling me that," Nguyen replied, as she recorded cellphone footage of her own.
"You’re a Chinese b—h," the customer continued.
"Okay, thank you," the worker replied.
"You’re a Chinese b—h, you want me to spell it for you? You’re a Chinese b—h."
As the hateful exchange dragged on, the angry customer welcomed the idea of involving authorities.
"Who gives a f—k, b—h? Call the police! What they gonna do? I’ll say it front of them. You’re a Chinese b—h, now what?" she said, growing more irritated.
The customer then taunted the worker with a series of insulting approximations of the Chinese language before getting the food she complained about boxed up in a take-out container.
"Take your a— back to your country. Ching chong," she said as she left the establishment.
The woman’s hatred of Chinese people was actually misdirected toward Nguyen, who was born in the US and is of Vietnamese heritage, according to Orlando Weekly.
Orange County sheriff’s officials were investigating the outburst, the outlet said. The department had recently started an Asian American and Pacific Islander liaison program to address the nationwide uptick in hate crimes against people of Asian descent during the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague) ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... pandemic.
The restaurant identified the woman from her receipt as the proprietor of a local skincare business whose Yelp page was subsequently shut down after being inundated with bad reviews from web users who were horrified by the racist tantrum.
The Post is not including the name of the woman or her business as alleged by Nguyen.
The restaurant owner, however, said that a different business called Beauty Bar Orlando was being incorrectly targeted by online advocates and stressed that that establishment was not connected to the racist rant.

So I went to the link at looked at the pictures and it was just as I thought. These animals were fenced into an area that had no shade. They had no way to escape the direct heat of the sun. Grow some trees, morons, or build some patio covers so your livestock can find some shade. Is that so hard to figure out?

[Washington Examiner] Some Republicans in Congress are going to war against their own party, coming out in full force against a renewed effort to make women register for the military draft.
A coalition of 11 Republican senators led by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) lambasted a proposed amendment to the 2023 National Defense Authorization Act by Senate Democrats that would require women to register with the Selective Service System, putting them at odds with even some members of their own party who voted in favor of the amendment.
The coalition urged Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Jack Reed (D-RI) "in the strongest possible terms not to use this year’s NDAA to try to force America’s women to register for the military draft" in a letter on Wednesday. Revisiting a failed effort to add a similar provision to the 2022 NDAA would be "a grave mistake" and would "needlessly inject divisive social policies into important debates over our national security," the senators argued.
The Senate Armed Services Committee voted in favor of adding the provision with the support of seven committee Republicans hours after Hawley’s letter was released, leaving the Right fuming. Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), an outspoken opponent of expanding the draft to women, excoriated Republicans who voted in favor of the proposal.

If you look at the very first Militia Act of 1792, those who were defined as the militia were also the ones who had the franchise of the vote. When the militia act of 1862 was modified to include males of African descent it was followed by the 15th Amendment extending the franchise to that group as well. In short, the vote and the obligation of duty were one and the same. That link was broken by the 19th Amendment in 1920 that expanded the vote without obligation to one large group. For men, its never been "my body, my choice".

A critical component in the value of a State Guard, State Active Duty in California for example, is the ability to field a military force for law enforcement as needed. At a minimum it means that Russia doesn’t want to import the current “decadent” western memes and themes into Russian society (LGBQXYZ, privileged ethnic groups, printing money based on vapor, etc). The confusion about "denazification" arises, as so often happens, from a bad translation compounded by political and historical ignorance. English speakers do not grasp that that the term is not strictly referring to "Nazis" but more generally describes Ukrainian nationalists.
In Russian as in German (and Italian as well), the 't' in the word "national" is pronounced "ts" -- like the 'z' in Mozart. In French and English it's softened to 's' and 'sh' so that there is a sharp distinction between na-shin/na-si-on and the very specific na-tsee.
But in Russian as in German there is no difference, linguistically or phonetically, between na-ts-i and na-ts-ional. When Russians refer to the Nazis, they use the term fashisti.
Politically, Putin is referring to the extreme nationalists in Ukraine -- politicians as well as paramilitary thugs and outright terrorists, but all of the violently anti-Russian forces who were responsible for stripping Russian speakers in Ukraine of basic rights, be they political (as in Crimea) or physical safety (as in Donbas) or economic and cultural-linguistic (everywhere).
"De-nationalization" means curbing the ability of Russian-haters inside and outside of Ukraine's government to suppress, steal from, harass or beat and terrorize Russian-speakers.
