#1 Where IS Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte? Outrage as leader took vacation with his wife as flood warnings came in and STILL hasn't returned as state reels from historic floods

#2 Residents of Montana's largest city are warned water supply could run out in 36 HOURS after the only local treatment plant was inundated by devastating floods that have also closed Yellowstone National Park 'indefinitely' for first time in decades

#4 I didn't see any evidence of devastation in the Park. Most of the rain was north of the park, and all that drained into (quite large) Yellowstone Lake.

I'll wait for more Mail photos of "Changed Beyond Recognition".

#6 ^ No lie. When I was a reporter, I talked to many people who described previous generations of their fambly being flooded out of the old home place and finishing with "well, I guess we'll rebuild again..." And insurance was not in the mix. Neither was common sense.

#7 Good gouge at 5 and 6. While not always available, I prefer the high ground.

#8 A lot of really nice houses here near the beach that will get levelled by a major hurricane. Lots of them are empty most of the year. I guarantee you they are insured out the whing-whang too.
