Libyan Army: Military Operations Continue Against Terrorists & Smugglers

The Spokesperson for the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, said the operations to purge southern Libya of terrorists and Chadian smugglers continue.

In press remarks, Al-Mismari pointed out that the Chadian groups present near the Libyan border are armed opponents of the Chadian government. He explained that arms smugglers, human traffickers and gangs are present with those Chadian rebels.

He stated that these gangs and rebels were controlling the Southwest of the country, and some groups were roaming in the Southeast around the city of Kufra in the triangle of the Libyan-Sudanese-Egyptian border.

Al-Mismari articulated that the crisis in northern Chad prompted some elements -whether from the armed opposition or gangs- to enter Libyan territory.

Regarding the presence of ISIS elements in the South of Libya, he explained that the organisation is present in small groups in the Southwest, where it benefits from the nature of the geography in the region.

Al-Mismari said that Al-Qaeda exists in variable numbers according to circumstances, and that its elements are trying to maintain lines of communication between groups in Libya, Mali, Niger and Boko Haram.

He revealed that the LNA forces had eliminated one of the hideouts of the Al-Qaeda organisation in the South, after monitoring their movement in the southern Qatrun region.

The media official of the LNA, Ageela Al-Saber, told Sky News Arabia that they deployed the “106th Brigade to the city of Murzuq, in the far South of Libya, close to the Chadian border.”

Al-Saber explained that the brigade’s units were deployed to control the security situation. This coincides with the return of a number of families, who were displaced from Murzuq years ago. As well as to “secure the Libyan borders and remote cities, and confront cross-border activities.”

“The LNA has sent reinforcements in all strategic directions, and is monitoring the movements of terrorist elements in the South and West of Libya,” he noted.

Local sources told Sky News Arabia that the mining areas in the Kouri Bogoudi area “always witnesses confrontations between competing tribes, who live in Chad, Libya, and Sudan.”

On Saturday, the Chadian President, Mohamed Déby, said his country will work to control its gold reserves in mining areas, especially in its border triangle with Libya and Niger.

In remarks to Tele Chad News, Déby said that gold is smuggled every week from Chad to Libya worth 57 billion CFA francs, equals 91 million US dollars.

Déby pledged to ensure that Chadians benefit from the gold mines in the Kouri Bogoudi area on the Chadian-Libyan border.

Al-Qaeda in Yemen reports death of three senior commanders
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Al-Qaeda in Ma’rib province has on Sunday admitted to the death of three of its most prominent military leaders.

A statement issued by the organization said that Amir Abu Haidara al-Adani was killed by Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i forces while participating in the fighting in the ranks of the Saudi-led coalition forces on the outskirts of Bayda province.

The statement praised what it described as "the long march of Abu Haidara al-Adani" in the fight against the forces of Sana’a, without referring to the date of his death.

The terrorist organization also mourned two other Amirs of al-Qaeda, who were killed during an attack that targeted the convoy of the commander of the Security Belt in Abyan
...a governorate of Yemen. The region was a base to the Aden-Abyan Islamic Army terrorist group until it dropped the name and joined al-Qaeda. Its capital is Zinjibar. In March 2011, al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula declared the governate an Islamic Emirate after seizing control of the region. The New York Times fastidiously reported that those in control, while Islamic hard boyz, are not in fact al-Qaeda, but something else that looks, tastes, smells, and acts the same. Yemeni government forces launched an effort to re-establish control of the region when President-for-Life Saleh was tossed and the carnage continues...
province, Brigadier General Abdullatif al-Sayed, on March 15th.

The terrorist movement had previously issued other obituary statements for leaders who were killed in Ma’rib, the latest of which was one issued on October 11, 2021, on the killing of Yasser Laakab al-Omari, commander in the 156th Brigade loyal to the coalition, who was killed by the defenders of Yemen.

UAE-backed mercenaries in Yemen sell large quantities of weapons to unknown party
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia has sold a quantity of weapons to unknown persons on Socotra Island.

According to military sources, the UAE-backed militias looted over 100 rifles of the type AK-47 and 40 boxes of ammunition, in addition to 23 anti-aircraft weapons from a camp of the 1st Marine Infantry Brigade, and sold them to unknown persons on the island, Almahriah TV reported.

According to the channel, the STC’s militia looted the weapons from one of the brigade’s battalions that had declared its loyalty to the STC, and imprisoned soldiers from Socotra because of their opposition to the sale of weapons.

Other sources suggested that the sale of weapons predicts the emergence of new terrorist groups on the island, which is occupied by Emirati forces.

These groups are likely to be used by the UAE to increase their hold over the island, and to suppress and displace the inhabitants of the island under the pretext of fighting terror, and showing their presence with the Zionist entity to "protect maritime navigation" in the Indian Ocean.

Activist Kidnapped in Libya’s Misrata

Gunmen close to Prime Minister of Libya’s Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba kidnapped an activist who filmed the PM’s convoy ramming into a car, as they passed through the city of Misrata.

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) expressed concerns about the kidnapping of Faisal Abu Bakr Belhaj from his workplace. Armed members of the GNU’s “Joint Operations Force” took Belhaj to an unknown location on Saturday.

Hours before his kidnapping, Belhaj had posted a video on Facebook, documenting the incident.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the NCHRL expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of kidnappings, enforced disappearances, and illegal detention of citizens.

“This is a grave violation against human rights and citizenship, a violation of civil and political rights, and an infringement of freedom of opinion and expression,” the NCHRL said in a statement.

It demanded the immediate and unconditional release of Belhaj, and held the PM responsible for his kidnapping. It also called on the Attorney General’s Office to open an investigation into the incident, and ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.

The owner of the vehicle reportedly received a new car, as compensation for the incident.

Armed infiltrators exchange fire with BSF along IB in Jammu

Border Security Force (BSF) engaged armed infiltrators in a brief gunfight and thwarted their attempt to sneak into this side from across the International Border (IB) here, a spokesperson of the border guarding force said on Monday.

The incident occurred in Arnia sector around 9.30 pm on Sunday when alert BSF troops observed suspicious movement close to the IB, the spokesman said.

He said BSF troops challenged the miscreants who fired on the troops and fled in the face of retaliation.

Indonesian police arrest alleged propagandist amid crackdown on pro-caliphate group
[BenarNews] Indonesian police in the past several days have arrested five members of a little-known group espousing an Islamic caliphate — a concept that goes against the Moslem-majority country’s state ideology — including its leader and the main propagandist, who was arrested Monday.

The suspected members of the Khilafatul Moslemin group were taken into custody following a public outcry over a large rally that it staged in Jakarta last month.

It was not immediately known what criminal charges the alleged propagandist was facing after his arrest. On June 7, the group’s leader and founder was arrested on charges of violating a 2017 law banning organizations that oppose Pancasila, Indonesia’s five-pillared ideology.

SDF Arrests ISIS Leader North Of Deir Ez-Zor

During a security operation on Monday, special units of the Syrian Democratic Forces arrested a leader of a security cell of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, a governorate east Syria.

A military source told North Press that the operation was carried out based on aerial and ground support from the US-led Global Coalition. The operation resulted in the arrest of the leader in Ruwaished badia in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

The cell of the leader is responsible for transferring information, identifying goals, planning and putting methods to implement hard-line attacks against security, military and service targets in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor and other areas northeast Syria, according to the source.

During the process of checking, the units found and confiscated weapons, equipment, documents and military clothes the leader owned.

On Sunday, the SDF disclosed that its special units, in cooperation with the Global Coalition, captured a funding cell affiliated with the ISIS in the town of al-Hawl east of Hasakah.

Residents of northeast Syria voice concern over the ISIS activities in an attempt to reorganize itself in light of successive Turkish threats to invade the region.

Iran says 2 military aerospace officials killed in country
[An Nahar] Two Iranian aerospace officials have been "martyred while on mission" in separate incidents inside the country, the armed forces said Monday.

Ali Kamani, a member of the Revolutionary Guards aerospace division, was "martyred" in Khomein in central Markazi province on Sunday, Fars news agency said quoting a Guards statement.

Elsewhere, "Mohammad Abdoos, an employee of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, was martyred on Sunday evening during a mission" in the northern Semnan province, the ministry said in a statement.

Fars earlier said Abdoos, 33, was also working in the field of aerospace -- which in Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
produces equipment ranging from military aircraft to missiles and drones.

No further details were given on the men or how they died.

Iran has in the past blamed its arch enemy Israel for a series of killings of military figures and nuclear technology experts.

On May 22, Guards Colonel Sayyad Khodai, 50, was killed outside his home in the east of the Iranian capital by attackers on cycle of violences who shot him five times.

The Guards accused "Zionists" of being behind the high-profile liquidation and vowed Dire Revenge.

The New York Times

... which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

later reported that Israel had told its close ally the United States that the Jewish state was behind the killing of Khodai.

The US daily cited an anonymous "intelligence official briefed on the communications".

Iran's state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
has said that Khodai was a member of the Quds Force and that he was "known" in Syria, where Iran has acknowledged deploying "military advisers".

The Guards described Khodai as a "defender of the sanctuary", a term used for those who work on behalf of Tehran in Syria or Iraq.

Iran believes Israel killed 2 scientists by poisoning their food — report

[IsraelTimes] The New York Times says Iranian officials suspect Israel targeted engineer Ayoob Entezari, geologist Kamran Aghamolaei, who died under similar circumstances several weeks ago.
