[WEEKLYSTANDARD] Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Juliàn Castro defended his department’s new "Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing" program on Capitol Hill last week. Designed to integrate low-income families into higher-income neighborhoods, the proposed rules would funnel federal grant money to developers who build medium- and low-cost residences in wealthier neighborhoods.
The basic idea – if you build it, they will come – has been tried before, in the nation’s capital. The idea, y'see, is to move the po' folks in among the rich folks.Through a process of osmosis the po' folks will learn to maintain their residences, get up and go to work every morning, not to party until five a.m. with shirtless tough guys standing out front and hollering and waving guns. Why, no. Of course there's no possibility the po' folks will simply regard their neighbors as prey, despoiling them of their worldly goods and trashing their real property. What gave you that silly idea?
Since 2009, Washington, D.C. has incentivized builders to integrate financially homogenous neighborhoods through the Inclusionary Zoning Affordable Housing Program. It operates on a similar principle as the federal program, though with the subsidy coming in the form of “bonus density” (maximum number of lots allowed in a certain zone) rather than a federal grant. In the federal program, construction companies receive a check from the government for building cheaper, denser housing; in D.C., they’re allowed a special dispensation from zoning laws that helps them sell more lots. Both systems encourage low-cost, high-density building in government-designated zones.

[DAWN] US President Barack Obama I am the change that you seek... has urged anti-Islam demonstrators in the United States to "stop yelling and start listening", telling them that they would find Moslems peaceful and welcoming if they reached out to them.
He read out a message of peace at an iftar-dinner he hosted at the White House on Monday, noting that more than 1.5 billion people around the world observed Ramazan as "a time of spiritual renewal and a reminder of one's duty to our fellow man".
He recalled that when three young Moslem Americans were brutally murdered in Chapel Hill, South Carolina, earlier this year, Americans of all faiths rallied around that community.
He noted that in the same state last week a white supremacist murdered nine African Americans at a church in Charleston.
"As Americans, we insist that nobody should be targeted because of who they are, or what they look like, who they love, how they worship. We stand united against these hateful acts."

I agree. Who were the first Free French and Resistants? About one third came from the military of course (fighting the enemy was their job), then there were the sailors of the Ismland of Sein, an island so dangerous to live in and navigate in its waters you need to have BIIIG balls and... those few who had read Mein Kampf and undesrtood there could no settlement with Hitler, that he didn't want Alsace-Lorraine but destroy FRance once and for all.

Listened to them -- they keep saying they want to enslave or kill me. Their actions back that up.
So GFY, Obama.

Thre is a verse in Frecnh :Qui voit Sein voit sa fin". "Who sees Sein, sees his end/ his doom"
Its highest point is judt 10 yards about sea level. On June 18th, 1940 a woman heard General's De Gaulle call to Resistance on ethe only radio in the whole island. The day after the entire male population between 18 and 50 boarded the boats and went to England to fight in Free France. No one stayed behind.
BTW, you could be interested in this https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phare_d%27Ar-Men article about the Ar Men lighthouse in the waters of Sein. Google translate does an acceptable work. Oh, and look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7RSryuJAwE Ar men is the first lighthouse in the video.

I never heard of Ramazan. Is it the same as Ramadam or is it different?
But I know one thing: The more I listen to Baraq, the more I understand how full of shit he is. It gets so painful after a while that I just can't listen anymore.
[HOTAIR] The US Conference of Mayors kicked off their 83rd annual meeting this weekend and as part of the proceedings they named their new president for the coming year. The lucky winner was Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

It's true, but I don't take much comfort from it.
Stalin's Great Terror, Mao's Cultural Revolution and Hitler's purge of the SA didn't lead to the collapse of their respective regimes, and plenty of innocents suffered along with the guilty.
And what does it say when the only way to put a hurting on the left is to be even further left?

The Second Amendment came right after the issue of freedom of speech and religion because the framers were very clear about keeping government in check. By being able to openly criticize it, practice the faith that was independent of it, and owning the means to keep government in check if it becomes oppressive. O'Malley is one of those people for whom the latter was intended, giving citizens the means to literally resist any government power he tried to exercise that was tyrannical. And this emotional BS is cover for his wish to take those means away. Time for a Charlton Heston Moment.
[SALON] Hillary Clinton ... sometimes described as The Liberatress of Libya and at other times as Mrs. Bill, never as Another Dean Rusk ... went to New York's Roosevelt Island earlier this month to relaunch her campaign for president. Her first kickoff fell flat, perhaps because she herself didn't attend, opting instead to send a video greeting card in which people she still insists on calling 'everyday Americans' shared their life plans. (To go to school! Plant a garden! Get married!) She came on at the end to say she had plans of her own that include being president, and that she does it all for us.
She delivered a 45-minute speech that told us little more than that three-minute video. She still won't say where she'd peg the minimum wage or if she'd ever rein in the surveillance state or get us out of Iraq. Most amazing is how she finesses the Trans Pacific Partnership that President B.O. so covets. It's the biggest deal in the history of commerce; its investor tribunals would substitute corporate for democratic will here and around the world -- and Clinton hasn't said boo about it. Some ask how she gets away with it. I'm not so sure she does.
Politicians have always ducked tough issues, but today's Democrats are the worst. When the TPP came before the House, enough Democrats played it cute to leave the outcome in doubt till the very end. Minority Leader Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. Formerly Speaker of the House, but it's not her fault they lost. Really. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace... didn't tip her hand until just before the vote. Many who voted no never said exactly why. Some want to curb currency manipulation. Some oppose the fast track process, others the secret tribunals or the intellectual property rules that actually restrain competition. If the caucus as a whole has a bottom line, no one knows what it is.
The TPP is a mystery because our leaders wish it so. We don't know what's in it because our president won't let us read it, and not out of respect for precedent or protocol. George W. Bush showed us drafts of his trade agreements. We're negotiating one right now with Europe, and Europeans get to read those drafts. If a comma gets cut from the TPP, hundreds of corporate lobbyists know in an instant. The only people who don't know are the American people -- and that's only because our president thinks our knowing would ruin everything.

She's Obama on steroids. Regarding various topics, anyone notice how many times she has recently said..... "President Obama is right?"
[BREITBART] Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina argued feminism should be taken back "for all women, not just for those who believe in the litany of the left" in an interview broadcast on Monday's broadcast of "The Cycle" on MSNBC.
Fiorina began by stating, "I'm not running because I'm a woman. I've never been a token in my life. But the facts are, I am a woman and I'm very proud to be a woman and I'm very proud to be able to talk with the 54% of voters who are women. And I do think it's important that as a party we are as diverse as the nation we hope to represent."
When asked if the Republican Party needs to do a better job at minority outreach, she responded, "Well, I think one of the things we can't do is play identity politics. That's the Democrat Party's game. But I also think that sometimes the Republican Party, in its tone, is judgmental when we need to be empathetic. Sometimes, I think we need to acknowledge reality, and the reality is that women's potential still is not fully utilized in this country. And it's to everyone's advantage that women's potential be fully utilized, not because women are better than men, but because women are half the potential in this nation."
Fiorina also addressed the issue of feminism, Fiorina said she considers herself a feminist and that "I'm tired of women who are conservative like me being dismissed by others because we don't agree with them. And I think it's time to take that word back, for all women, not just for those who believe in the litany of the left."

that women's potential still is not fully utilized in this country
I like much of what I've heard from Carly but am also very skeptical. This is an example of a warning bell.
Who does she think determines whether or not "full potential" is realized? Isn't that up to the individual?
Where are all these obstacles that women have to overcome other than in their own minds? I would love to hear a politician talk about personal accomplishments and responsibilities of individuals. Groupists (sic) are virtually always statists at some level.

"full potential" = taking full responsibilities for one's choices, bear equal consequences for one's actions, and carrying an equal burden in the defense of the community.

Tribalism along with hierarchical organizations and territorial behavior is inherit in all primates regardless of color, race, creed - or level on the evolutionary chart.

If George Bush had used the N word they would have impeached him. Baraq, of course, gets a pass. But that just goes to show that he's the biggest racist in the country.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) files obtained by Judicial Watch reveal that the dad, maternal grandpa and father-in-law of President Obama's trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, were hardcore Communists under investigation by the U.S. government.
Maybe we could get her OPM file from the Chinese...
Jarrett's dad, pathologist and geneticist Dr. James Bowman, had extensive ties to Communist associations and individuals, his lengthy FBI file shows. In 1950 Bowman was in communication with a paid Soviet agent named Alfred Stern, who fled to Prague after getting charged with espionage. Bowman was also a member of a Communist-sympathizing group called the Association of Internes and Medical Students. After his discharge from the Army Medical Corps in 1955, Bowman moved to Iran to work, the FBI records show.
Appears to be an enabler, an admission of forknowledge. Something more significant, possibly more sinister may soon be revealed.

...and the man she 'advises' at the White House, what about his family? Or was that so unimportant for the Permanent Party Propaganda Machine to let out in 2008?

Sure, why not be open about it now? Nearly half the country is on record as being open to voting for a socialist for POTUS. The rot has gone systemic and there's not much to be done to change course. "And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever..." J. Gruber. It's over -what comes next is anyone's guess.

[The Right Stuff] I know I'm probably going to catch heat for this, but I'm not going to lie to you. I find this video repulsive to watch. I'm not trying to be offensive or anything of the sort, but it's just the way I feel.
It's Hillary's new video today on same-sex marriage, where she declares that it's time for marriage equality. She tweeted it out earlier.
The video shows gay couples of all stripes saying vows, holding hands, and even kissing. Ick!
Normally I wouldn't post something like this because of how I feel about it, but this is who Hillary Clinton is now and I just can't ignore it.
