The governor in Florida can basically fire anybody in gummint. State supreme court could check him, but probably won't in this case.

I believe it's explicitly stated in the FL constitution that the Governor can fire anyone for dereliction of duty.
The DA signed a couple of letters that he would not prosecute certain laws. That he would flat-out not prosecute them.
I don't think he understands what the word 'democracy' means.* If the law was passed by the legislative branch, it's democracy.
* for the Left the word 'democracy' is only part of the "Peoples' Democratic Republic of..." which has never been democratic or republican in form or substance.

Yes, the left is very keen on "One man, one vote, one time."

Murcek, my understanding is the governor can only suspend this prosecutor -- the legislature has the final say on removing him or reinstating him.
As for the guy's whining -- he wanted to pick and choose which laws to enforce. There's a fine line between "discretion" and "abdication", and he clearly crossed it.

Why don't they settle with an old fashioned fist fight?
Some of us are still hopeful that we can maintain the rule of law in this country instead of fist, fights, gun fights and outright civil war.

Re #12 So when you see Antifa and such commiting violence an d openly call to commit violence towards me and you alike, you are just willing to accept it and turn the other cheek? Way past time for that bullshit. Hopeful thinking is about as good as a hand full of shit.

You can still defend yourself, Chris. No one here wants to take that away from you.
What we're against is pre-emptive "self-defense". Let the other side start something.

Lefty lesson learned: Don't put it in writing that you won't do your job.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden’s border chief has opened a new route for the global migrants seeking jobs and housing in the United States.
The faster route uses boats to carry roughly 1,500 migrants per day from ports in Colombia around the deadly Darien Gap trail and up to ports in Panama, according to Todd Bensman, a former intelligence official who now works with the Center for Immigration Studies.
Bandits, floods, exhaustion, and accidents have killed thousands of global migrants on the Darien Gap trail as they walked through Panama’s jungles and mountains towards Biden’s welcome, said Bensman.
But the new boat-and-bus route will not prevent the death of many migrants as they travel from South America, the Caribbean, Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East to the United States, he said.
The best way to save lives is to persuade would-be economic migrants to stay at or near home, he said. “You can pretty much guarantee you’re saving lives and victimization if they’re staying home or staying in [safer] countries near their home countries,” he told Breitbart News.
Biden’s progressives deputies — led by border chief Alejandro Mayorkas — are opening the new routes to help more of those wishing to flee to the U.S., even for unidentifiable migrants who hide their real identity, he said, adding:
Their thesis is if you build a bridge [for migrants], and make it real nice so that everybody can come, that’s really the only way to save lives. [They argue that border] enforcement causes migrants to do dangerous things, so let’s not have any enforcement. Well, that’s just an untenable position to most Americans, even liberal Americans, to just have no enforcement.
Once the migrants are delivered to small ports further along Panama’s Caribbean coast, government-funded buses take them to towns in Panama. Many of the migrants rely on aid stations run by progressive groups — usually funded by the United Nations and the U.S. government — as they travel north through Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, and Mexico.
If they reach the U.S. border, the vast majority of Darien Gap migrants are welcomed by Mayorkas’s deputies, and then released to U.S. employers who are eager to hire the desperate migrants instead of hiring better-paid Americans.
The new route opened after Mayorkas visited the Darien Gap area in April.
The U.N. reported:
The people who used the route in 2021 were mainly from Haiti, Cuba, Bangladesh, India, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Nepal, Ghana, and Senegal, as well as Venezuela and Colombia. During 2021, the predominant presence of people of Haitian origin was observed, reaching almost 75% of the total number of people in transit through Panama. The vast majority [of Haitians] correspond to secondary movements and come mainly from countries such as Chile and Brazil where they had temporarily resided.

For the governors of Florida, Texas, and Arizona, time to include Delaware in your bus destinations. They kept voting the a'hole to the Senate for decades. Let them enjoy the effects of their votes.
[FoxNews] A source familiar told Fox News that the raid occurred early this morning. The source said agents brought a "safe cracker" and cracked a "relatively new" safe in Mar-a-Lago. The source told Fox News there was "nothing in it."
*snicker*
Multiple sources tell Fox News the FBI ...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time... 's raid of Mar-a-Lago is related to the materials Trump allegedly brought to his private residence after his presidency concluded. That matter was referred to the Justice Department by the National Archives and Records Administration, which said it found classified material in 15 boxes at the residence.
Federal law bars the removal of classified documents to unauthorized locations, though it is possible that Trump could try to argue that, as president, he was the ultimate declassification authority.
A source familiar told Fox News that FBI agents went to Mar-a-Lago and looked in every single office, safe, and grabbed documents and boxes without going through them on the property. They took boxes and documents to go through them later.
"They were not being judicious about what they took," the source told Fox News.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, one of many criticizing the raid, called it "an unprecedented political weaponization of the Justice Department."
"They've been after President Trump as a candidate, as President, and now as a former President," Noem tweeted. "Using the criminal justice system in this manner is un-American."
Trump was in New York City when the raid was carried out and is now headed to Bedminster, Fox News has learned. An FBI source confirmed that FBI agents from Washington, D.C. who are on the bureau's Evidence Response Team conducted the raid and notified the Miami Field Office just before.
Per standard protocol, FBI Director Wray and Attorney General Garland were aware of the raid even if shortly before and would have been fully briefed.
A White House official told Fox News it did not have any notice of the reported action and referred all additional questions to the DOJ.
A separate investigation into efforts by Trump allies to undo the results of the 2020 presidential election and the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol has intensified in Washington in recent weeks, particularly with the January 6 congressional committee holding hearings to reveal its findings.
Per sources familiar with the matter, the FBI raid is related to the alleged taking of potential classified information upon leaving Washington on January 2021 — not the January 6th investigation.

I thought this important enough to advance to this evening and set as the day’s headline — we’ll roll it over for tomorrow to continue the discussion as details roll in.
Thank you for being on top of this for us, Chantry!

Turley on Fox just indicated they were looking for "documents" and removed 15 boxes of them. Trump indicated they opened his safe. This is a fishing expedition using a Corrupt DC Federal Judge to grant so wide-reaching a warrant. The undoubted intent is to try and find some basis for a crime that allows for prosecution of a federal criminal statute. Once that charge is made, Trump can be slow-rolled if they can't convict, to bar him from the 2024 election.
The Magic Kenyan and the Oligarchs have opened a level of political warfare that may well lead to national disaster. Now the entire campaign to create the "threat" from the right makes it clear they needed a meme for the suppressive acts that are coming from this.
The FDC Swamp Coup/Junta knows if True Law and Order is restored, they will be on trial for Treason and Subversion and likely swing for it.
So they can't let Trump run with the NEW Voter ID and Ballot Control laws passed in many states that will keep them from a redo of the 2020 election Steal.

I would like to think Barack Obama is not that stupid. The intersecting committees that are actually making competing decisions behind the scenes, though — they I can believe would be precisely that stupid.
I imagine President Trump’s attorneys have been making calls to various Supreme Court justices preparatory to calling on their offices as soon as they open for business tomorrow morning.

This is all about getting Trump off the ballot. Cool, 'cause then we get DeSantis. Still, we're gonna have to shoot our way out of this folks. The Dems have shown their hand.

The plan, and it is a plan, is fully in play. Something will be found (or planted) in the boxes. Yes, the boxes that Trump did NOT pack. These SOB's will not rest until The Orange Man is no more.
[PJMedia] In rejecting the Crapo Amendment, Democrats tacitly admitted that their new nuclear-strength IRS has just one job: To wage war on everyone but their rich buddies.
It was a crazy weekend getting Presidentish Joe Biden’s massive Tax & Spend & Regulate bill* through the 50/50 Senate. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) suspended COVID-19 testing rules and kept his superspreader voting event going all hours to ensure passage of the $700 billion boondoggle.
But when asked to include IRS protections for the poor and the middle class, Schumer and every other Democrat voted NO.
Republican Senator Mike Crapo of Idaho offered a very simple amendment to Biden’s $80 billion expansion of the IRS with 87,000 new agents. You might not have read about it in any of your favorite newspapers, and it’s a sure thing the network news ignored the Crapo Amendment completely.

Of course not. Hurting the middle class with IRS audits is the whole idea. You think they were going to go after billion dollar corporations? LOLOLOLOL....

How about a fair tax law and doing away with the IRS? Current bill provides welfare for bureaucrats and headaches for the rest of us. After all, we are paying for these newly minted bureaucrats.
The bill passed on a party-line vote with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the 50-50 tie
It passed with an amendment by GOP Senator John Thune to exempt some companies from its 15 percent corporate minimum tax
Senate Dems erupted in cheers and applause after the 16-hour voting session
Democrats were hopeful for a win ahead of November's midterm elections
The bill contains funding to beef up IRS enforcement, expand green energy production, and lower the cost of healthcare
Republicans successfully forced Democrats to strip a provision that would have capped the price of insulin at $35
President Biden celebrated, stating that 'today, Senate Democrats sided with American families over special interests,' and urged the House to pass the bill
Democrat Senator Chris Coons admitted the bill could take 'a year or more' to bring down the inflation rate, which hit 9.1 percent in June

It’ll take veto-proof Republican majorities in both Houses
If you get that, just repeal the income tax amendment and substitute a value added tax. I'm sure enough of the states out there would be more than happy to ratchet the central government down.
