#1 The governor in Florida can basically fire anybody in gummint. State supreme court could check him, but probably won't in this case.

#2 I believe it's explicitly stated in the FL constitution that the Governor can fire anyone for dereliction of duty.
The DA signed a couple of letters that he would not prosecute certain laws. That he would flat-out not prosecute them.

#3 Ex Orange County DA Aramis Ayala is running for state AG. She became Ex for refusing to bring the death penalty in a cop murder.

Needless to say, she's not a serious candidate.

#4 Looking hugely forward to seeing the Demings crime fambly ousted from politics in Florida.

#5 Oh. Cop killer got death penalty anyway, though the judge squirmed as much as she could about it.

#6 Markeith Loyd. He's a "victim" because the cop he killed go a shot in before she died.

#7 Why don't they settle with an old fashioned fist fight? That'd be something.

#8 'is trying to overthrow democracy in Florida'

I don't think he understands what the word 'democracy' means.* If the law was passed by the legislative branch, it's democracy.

* for the Left the word 'democracy' is only part of the "Peoples' Democratic Republic of..." which has never been democratic or republican in form or substance.

#9 Yes, the left is very keen on "One man, one vote, one time."

#10 Murcek, my understanding is the governor can only suspend this prosecutor -- the legislature has the final say on removing him or reinstating him.

As for the guy's whining -- he wanted to pick and choose which laws to enforce. There's a fine line between "discretion" and "abdication", and he clearly crossed it.

#12 Why don't they settle with an old fashioned fist fight?

Some of us are still hopeful that we can maintain the rule of law in this country instead of fist, fights, gun fights and outright civil war.

#13 Based on the aftermath of J6, I see know evidence of the rule of law in this country currently.

#14 Re #12 So when you see Antifa and such commiting violence an d openly call to commit violence towards me and you alike, you are just willing to accept it and turn the other cheek? Way past time for that bullshit. Hopeful thinking is about as good as a hand full of shit.

#15 You can still defend yourself, Chris. No one here wants to take that away from you.

What we're against is pre-emptive "self-defense". Let the other side start something.
