Texas cops shoot dead woman armed with a long rifle and accompanied by a 'small child' in active shooter incident at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • The woman entered the Houston church with a five-year-old boy just before 2pm

  • After the woman began shooting, two cops 'engaged' and the woman was killed

  • Houston officers said it was not clear if the kid was struck by the off-duty officers

The female shooter who opened fire at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church on Sunday had a 'Free Palestine' message written on her weapon, per a new report.

The shooter has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36, who previously used the name Jeffrey and has a lengthy criminal record, including assault, marijuana posession and forgery.

The shooter used an AR-15 that had “Free Palestine” written on it.

The shooter also threatened that she had a bomb, but authorities searched her vehicle and backpack and found no explosives, the Houston police chief said.

She was also spraying “some type of substance on the ground,” Finner said.

On Sunday night, authorities searched a home in Conroe, Texas, in connection with the shooting, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives confirmed Monday. Spokesperson Melissa Garcia told CNN the ATF-Houston Division was one of the law enforcement agencies involved in the search, but provided no additional details on what they were searching for. The home is about 50 minutes north of Lakewood Church.

The shooting happened between services at the megachurch that is regularly attended by 45,000 people every week, making it the third largest megachurch in the U.S., according to the Hartford Institute for Religion Research. Osteen´s televised sermons reach about 100 countries.

Genesse Moreno went by Jeffrey Escalante Moreno, among other aliases, and was from El Salvador.

Moreno also posted about giving money to Osteen's church, and indicated that Moreno had attended and was part of that church.

Moreno's Instagram page shows that Moreno presented in a feminine way.

#11  The individual who walked into Joel Osteen's Lakewood, Texas church on Sunday, pulled out a gun and opened fire, has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, 36. Moreno, wearing a trenchcoat, opened fire when entering the church along with a 5-year old child.

Local news reports that multiple sources have said that Genesse Ivonne Moreno is suspected of being the "armed woman" who was killed at the church Sunday.
Reports indicated that the shooter was female, but Moreno may have been male. Moreno was shot and killed by two off-duty officers.

Al-Shabab claims attack in Somali capital that kills 3 Emirati troops and 1 Bahraini officer
11/02/2024
[ShabelleMedia] The al-Qaeda-linked bully boy group al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
claimed an attack that killed three Emirati troops and a Bahraini military officer on a training mission at a military base in the Somali capital, authorities said on Sunday.

The attack Saturday targeted the troops at the General Gordon Military Base in Mogadishu.

Details about the attack and whether it killed others remained scarce Sunday, though Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud offered his condolences to the UAE for the loss of its troops in the assault.

Early Sunday, the UAE’s state-run WAM news agency reported the killing of three of its troops and the Bahraini soldier in a "terrorist act," without elaborating. It added that the attack maimed two others.

Al-Shabaab claimed the attack in a statement online, alleging it killed multiple people involved in the Emirati military effort. It described the UAE, a federation of seven sheikhdoms on the Arabian Peninsula, as an "enemy" of Islamic Shariah law for backing the Somali government in its efforts to battle al-Shabaab.

Gunmen Kidnap U.S. Citizen, Shoot Alleged DEA Agent's Wife in Separate Attacks near Cancun
[Breitbart] Authorities in Mexico are investigating the shooting of the wife of a retired DEA agent and the recent kidnapping of a U.S. citizen near Mexico’s Caribbean hotspot of Cancun. Mexican authorities reportedly tried to cover up one of the cases as a way to diminish the growing perception that violence has taken over the country.

The shooting of the woman took place on Friday night in the tourist area of Tulum, approximately 70 miles south of Cancun, in the state of Quintana Roo. According to the local news outlet NotiCaribe, the attack took place at a beach along the Tulum-Boca Paila highway. Local authorities tried to cover up the attack where one woman, who they claim is the wife of a retired DEA agent living in Cancun, was shot, the outlet reported. A second victim described only as a male sustained gunshot wounds, however, additional details have not been released. U.S. officials have not provided any information to confirm or deny the incident.

Greek police detain four for possession of weapons and explosives
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Greek police detained four people, including the former leader of one of the terrorist organizations in Greece, for possession of weapons and explosives, ERT television reported on February 10.

In addition, among those detained were a well-known anarchist figure and two employees of an underwater sabotage detachment. The operation to capture them was carried out on February 9 in the cities of Athens, Piraeus and Perama.

During searches in the houses of the detainees, police found and seized TNT blocks, fuses, a grenade, a pistol, magazines for machine guns and pistols, as well as cartridges of various calibers, a bulletproof vest, knives and iron brass knuckles.

The criminals were caught a week after the explosion, which occurred near the building of the Greek Ministry of Labor in the center of Athens. As a result of the incident, glass was broken on five floors of the building.

As Regnum reported, in mid-July an explosion occurred in the center of Athens near the building of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Greece. Before the incident, a warning message was received.

After the incident, another package with explosives was found near this place. They were able to neutralize him. However, the power of both explosive devices turned out to be small.

" and "From the river to the sea," which is a shortened version of the popular anti-Israel chant "From the river to the sea, Paleostine will be free."

After around 15 minutes, the museum’s security guards began turning people away at the doors and allowed people inside the building to exit, the report says.

A similar protest took place at the MoMA in May 2021, amid Operation Guardian of the Walls
Journalist Afeef Nassouli, a producer for the Wall Street Journal, spoke to a woman named Ariel, who identified themselves as a member of the grassroots political group ACT UP
... old-fashioned Black Bloc...
New York—originally formed in response to the AIDS crisis— about how she personally led an affinity group of anti-Zionist Jews, artists, and ACT UP members to the protest at MoMA “because we are all here to take a stand against genocide.”

According to an Instagram post by Alexa Blair Wilkinson, a photojournalist and graphic designer who attended the protest, no arrests were made and the sit-in dispersed around 6pm.

The protest at MoMA was organized by the Writers Against the War on Gaza
... boring cause junkies
and the New York chapter of the Palestinian Youth Movement.
...one of a number of virulently anti-Israel protest groups sponsored by the Westchester People’s Action Coalition — they do intersectional stuff when not overtly acting against Israel ...
A statement read out loud by protestors said “This action builds on the work of Strike MoMA, Gulf Labor, Art Workers Coalition, and more broadly, on resistance movements including the undying fight for Black Liberation, prison abolition, and Indigenous sovereignty.”
See? Cause junkies secretly hoping their fierce devotion to everything coming down the pike will somehow improve their mating prospects.
Estimates of the crowd of protestors at the Museum of Modern Art ranged from “more than 500” to “more than 800” people.
So at least 200. Got it.
Earlier on Saturday, Within Our Lifetime, a grassroots Palestinian-led community organization, held a protest at the Brooklyn Museum.

Photographer Stephanie Keith posted on Instagram that “NYPD made about 10 arrests while the protest was in front of the Museum including @protestnsurvive who is a credentialed member of New York City media.”

MoMA and the Brooklyn Museum did not respond to ARTnews‘ requests for comment. Writers Against The War on Gaza said in an email statement, “WAWOG does not give comment to publications owned by Penske Media.”

In NY, Jewish Columbia student alleges harassment by violent anti-Israel protesters

[IsraelTimes] Noah Lederman says a toxic atmosphere on campus led to his being pinned against a wall as he fled a demonstration co-organized and endorsed by student organizations.

The incident occurred late afternoon on February 2 after more than 500 pro-Paleostinian demonstrators turned out for the "All Out for Paleostine" protest.

The protest was organized by Within Our Lifetime. Columbia University Apartheid Divest co-organized the demonstration, which was endorsed by over 80 campus organizations.

Lederman decided to attend a small counter-protest in support of Israel after a friend asked him to accompany her.

Lederman said he decided to leave when the chanting and banner-waving pro-Paleostinian demonstrators started marching south down Broadway. He ducked into Book Culture bookstore on 115th Street, where he met up with his roommate. The two then started walking north, thinking it would be the safest route to their dorm.

When they got to 120th Street, it looked like a group of protesters were marching toward them. Lederman, wearing his Israeli flag T-shirt and a kippah, said he kept his head down as he tried to walk briskly past the group.

It was then that a man in a keffiyeh, a traditional men’s headscarf that has become a symbol of Paleostinian nationalism, spotted Lederman’s shirt and allegedly ordered the other protesters to fan out. Before Lederman understood what was happening, he said, he felt himself being shoved against the wall, unable to move.

He finally broke free and ran. And as he ran, Lederman said, the man yelled, "Keep f—ing running."

Lederman reported the incident to the NYPD and the University Department of Public Safety. According to Columbia, it’s the responsibility of the NYPD to handle the investigation since the alleged incident happened outside the campus gates.

Lederman said he’s less concerned with the man’s motives than he is with the overall climate that allowed the incident to unfold, saying it’s indicative of a general toxic atmosphere that has engulfed the Columbia campus since October 7.

"Columbia allowed things to progress... tolerance for violence begets violence," he said. "The climate on campus has made it possible for demonstrators on campus to feel they are untouchable. I want accountability from the university."

Columbia is one of several schools being investigated by the US Department of Education’s (DOE) Office of Civil Rights for allowing alleged antisemitic harassment to take place on school grounds and by registered student groups. An investigation means the DOE has identified a credible allegation that civil rights law has been violated.

Under Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, colleges and universities receiving federal money must protect students from discrimination based on race, color or national origin. This includes Jews, Moslems and other ethnic or religious groups with "shared ancestry." The university stands to lose federal funding if a civil rights violation is found.

'High-value target': Daesh commander eliminated in Khyber IBO, says ISPR
[GEO.TV] Security forces eliminated a "high-value target" Surat Gul aka Saif Ullah of ISIS in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Khyber district on Sunday.

On the reported presence of a high-profile terrorist, security forces swung into action immediately and carried out a raid in the tribal district, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

An intense fire exchange occurred during the conduct of the operation in which the ’ring leader’ of the outlawed terrorist outfit was killed by the security forces.

"Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorist commander, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities including murder of innocent civilians as well as extortion and was highly wanted by the law enforcement agencies."

"Sanitisation operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. Locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support to eliminate the menace of terrorism," the military’s media wing added.

Earlier in the month, two bandidos bully boyz including a ring leader in KP’s North Wazoo district were killed by the security forces on the night of February 5 and 6.

The ring leader Ayubullah, also known as Mansoor, alongside another, was bumped off, as the forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on the reported presence of terrorists, a military statement read.

Pakistain has witnessed a surge in attacks in its tribal districts bordering Afghanistan since the Taliban

Palestinian released from prison in November hostage deal caught trying to enter Israel illegally last week
[IsraelTimes] Police say a Paleostinian woman who attempted to illegally enter Israel on Friday was revealed to be one of 240 prisoners Israel freed in November in a hostage deal with Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
Oh dear. It sounds like she wants to resume her prison sentence.
According to police, Border Police officers stationed at the a-Za’im checkpoint near Jerusalem stopped a suspicious vehicle, in which a Paleostinian woman tried to identify herself using an ID card that did not belong to her.

Police say the officers realized the woman, a 21-year-old resident of the village of Beit Ur, had been previously detained in October during festivities.

At the time, she had been shot in the leg and arrested after allegedly hurling stones at Border Police officers, while masked.

Police say the woman is affiliated with Hamas and was released in the hostage deal with the terror group in November.

city of Khan Younis in recent weeks and it had "eliminated approximately 100 terrorists".

The footage released by Israel Defense Forces show soldiers entering homes or riding tanks.

During its 4-months-long campaign, Israel's military has destroyed schools, hospitals, cemeteries, mosques, churches as well as archaeological sites leaving rare areas intact, particularly in northern Gaza.

27,000 Paleostinians have been killed so far.

Heavy fighting
... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy...
is still taking place in central Gaza and in Khan Younis.

Prime Minister Benyahim Netanyahu has signalled plans to push the military operation further south to Rafah.

A ground operation in the densely populated could cut off one of the only avenues for delivering lifesaving supplies to millions of civilians trapped there.

According to sources speaking to the News Agency that Dare Not be Named agency Sunday (Feb. 11), Egypt is threatening to suspend its peace treaty with Israel if Israeli troops are sent into Rafah.

The threat to suspend the Camp David Accords - a cornerstone of regional stability for nearly a half-century - came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said sending troops into Rafah was necessary to win the four-month war against the Paleostinian bad boy group Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
As the war has dragged on, a growing number of Israeli protestors ask their government to reach a deal with Hamas.

But a small group of hostages' families is pushing a different message: Let the army first finish the job of defeating the bad boy group, even if that delays the return of their loved ones.

These families argue that the price to be paid in any hostage deal — the release of large numbers of Paleostinian forces of Evil held by Israel — would endanger the country in the future.

Hamas's armed wing claims that Israeli strikes over the past three days have killed two hostages being held by the group in Gaza.

‘We’ve been working on this for a long time’: IDF spokesman offers details on rescue

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari offers details on the rescue of hostages Marman and Har.

"The IDF and the Shin Bet have been working on this operation for a long time," he says.

"Conditions were not ripe to carry it out until now, and we waited for them to ripen."

He adds: "Reaching the target in the heart of Rafah was very complex."

Forces clandestinely arrived at the target at around 1 a.m., and carried out a very complex action on the premises and the second floor where the hostages were held."

He says preparations included "backup, a major aerial envelope, and intimate intel."

He says forces then broke into the building and exchanged fire with button men in the building and in adjacent buildings, while extracting the hostages.

"There was intense firepower from the air. Fire was opened from nearby buildings. The Air Force struck intensively there."

He says "many Death Eaters were eliminated tonight in this action."

One soldier was lightly injured, but beyond that no Israelis were hurt.

"The entire operation lasted about an hour from start to finish."

Hagari says the two hostages are now meeting with their families at Sheba Medical Center.

"It was a very tense night, but with a very emotional result," he says.

"We have 134 more hostages and we will continue to do everything to bring them home."

Israel announces rescue of two hostages from Hamas captivity in Gaza

As a new morning dawns, Israel has announced it has managed to safely rescue two hostages from Hamas captivity in Gaza.

The two, Fernando Simon Marman (60) and Norberto Louis Har (70) were extracted in a joint operation by the IDF, Shin Bet and Israel Police in Rafah.

They were kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak on October 7.

It is only the second such successful operation of its kind since October 7. The first was the rescue of soldier Ori Megidish in late October.

Courtesy of Besoeker, Reuters adds:
The Israeli military said on Monday it freed two hostages during a raid by special forces in Gaza's southern Rafah neighborhood.

The hostages were taken to Sheba hospital in central Israel, a statement from the hospital said, and were confirmed by doctors to be in "good condition".

And both Besoeker and Skidmark give us this link to the Daily Mail’s take on the story.

Settlers throw stones at Palestinian vehicles near Nablus; driver hospitalized
[IsraelTimes] About 15 settlers seen hurling rocks, smashing windshields and spraying tear gas at Paleostinian cars near Bizzariya, according to Yesh Din

Some 15 Israeli settlers threw stones at Paleostinian vehicles on Sunday near the West Bank village of Bizzariya, northwest of Nablus, according to the Israeli human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
watchdog Yesh Din.

In one incident, the settlers smashed the windshield of a car and sprayed the Paleostinian driver with tear gas, the Haaretz daily reported, adding that the driver was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

It followed an instance on Thursday in which masked settlers threw stones at Paleostinians at the Bizzariya junction, as seen on film shot by security cameras.

According to Yesh Din, 2023 was the most violent mostly peaceful year on record in terms of settler violence since the watchdog began tracking statistics in 2006. At least 10 Paleostinians were killed by settlers, the watchdog said, and dozens of homes were torched. The violence rose sharply following Hamas
...one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
’s October 7 massacre, which saw 1,200 people killed, most of them civilians, and 253 kidnapped.

In the wake of the increase in settler violence, the Israel Defense Forces held a drill last week that simulated settlers kidnapping a Paleostinian. The drill outraged the settler community and Israeli right, who claimed that such a scenario was unrealistic, leading IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi to issue an apology. Such instances, however, have occurred in the past.

Following criticism over its support of Israel in its war against Hamas, the Biden administration enforced sanctions two weeks ago against four bad boy settlers accused of using violence against Paleostinians.

The sanctions will block designated individuals from access to the US financial system, blocking them from any type of property in the US and freezing any property that they might already own. The sanctions will also include a ban on entry to the US.

Security forces say they foiled 2 separate stabbing attacks in Jerusalem, West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Attackers neutralized in incidents less than an hour apart; man lightly injured by shrapnel from gunfire during one attack

A Paleostinian man who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers near the West Bank village of Husan on Sunday was shot and killed by Israel Defense Forces troops, the Paleostinian Authority health ministry said Sunday evening.

The incident came less than an hour after a stabbing attack in Jerusalem’s Old City.

The PA said Israeli authorities had been in touch over the Husan incident and named the assailant as 35-year-old Rami Rashid al-Batha.

The suspect’s body was apparently being held by Israeli authorities.

The IDF said soldiers were patrolling a highway near the village when the Paleostinian assailant tried to stab them. No soldiers were maimed in the incident.

Earlier in Jerusalem, Magen David Adom paramedics treated a man who was lightly maimed during an attempted stabbing attack on coppers in Jerusalem’s Old City. The man was lightly hurt in the leg by shrapnel from gunfire toward the assailant.

The suspect who tried to stab officers was "neutralized," police said.
