Three suspects arrested in the murder of military official
|
[ShabelleMedia] The security forces in Gedo region detained suspects in the liquidation of a senior Somali military official following long-hours search and manhunt.
The judicial authorities said three suspects, including a Tuktuk driver are in jug and undergoing interrogation by the police before being put into a trial.
The defendants are convicted of having role in the killing of SNA’s 28th division Mohammed Aweys, who died in an bomb attached to his bed in Beled-Hawo town.
The leadership of NISA forces in Gedo region said the suspects will be transferred to Mogadishu to face charges at the Somali military which often handles with such cases.
The reports from the region indicate that the slain army officer had information about the murder of Bakol Kooke, ex-NISA head in Gedo, who was killed last year in a roadside blast.
The body of Aweys was discovered from the cemetery and found torture subjected to him before being killed in an IED, according to the sources within the security agencies.
In December 9 last year, the intelligence chief for Gedo region Bakaal Kooke has been killed in a kaboom while traveling from Luq town to Doolow.
