#1 ...Anonymous hasn't the foggiest idea of what they are messing with.

#2 OK Kids, go do that. "Cyber" Attack a US Military installation. Do you know who is tasked with defense of these? The Central Security Service, which is a branch of the NSA. Yep, kiddies, go call the NSA down on your heads.

#3 Let's just get the NSA to ID them. Then send a SEAL team to handle the attack.

#4 Seal team? Hell, they'll just "disappear". Get up and leave all on their own they will.

#5 Yes, if they're 'Anonymous' who'd know they'd disappeared? Or connect the dots to show that something was going on?

#6 The way I understand it ... lots of these folks have a little app on their desktop that they can turn on and off. It's of the same nature as distributed apps like SETI. As such they are under loose control/ receive commands from Central points. It should be possible to hijack the net and use it to attack itself. If it can force in a virus that's even better... one that does a "delete all"

#7 On one hand....there is Anonymous. On the other hand....the guys who may have come up with Stuxnet.

Hmm. I wonder who to bet on.

#8 Lieutenant Agustin Soliva, a Quantico spokesman, has called Anonymous' announcement a crime in and of itself

Perhaps more to the point, this is a declaration of war, and hopefully, will be treated as such.

#9 I think Manning should be given anything he needs. Underwear, extra belts, razors...a noose. Whatever he needs.

#10 We do not disappear our own citizens. We do not threaten to disappear our own citizens, even those of other countries. We do not, however, object when the NSA gives their addresses and identities to the FBI about five minutes after the first attack on a military site commences. And we might snicker among ourselves when the first arrests are reported shortly thereafter...

#11 Mine was a posed question implying that those who engage in such activity never contemplate all potential outcomes as a consequence. It's like people who engage in identity theft never contemplate taking someone's identity that may bring with it people who are looking for the person whose identity they've lifted. Everyone is betting the 'other guys' play by the book while they don't. I don't see that as a valid assumption.

Not yet anyway...but it is coming.

Btw, how is 'our agent' faring in Pakistani prison? Probably not well.

Good luck getting Holder to prosecute.

#16 Is not an attack on a military installation (cyber or not) an act of war? My SEAL team is only prosecuting this just and defensive war.

#17 They have a website, start arresting people and send them to Gitmo. They will love it with the Muslims.

#18 The DOJ doesn't care about Anonymous. They are far more interested in seizing "pirate" website domains. It accomplishes nothing, but they keep it up, and Anonymous goes around threatening US military facilities unmolested.

#19 There is no such agency.

#20 Simple solution: ID them with NSA super-computers, then post their identities and all associated info on the net. Let the wide, wonderful world of whackos on the Internet deal with them.

In Judo, you turn the attacker's force against him. In WikiLeaks combat, you turn the hackers' stealth into publicity. Natural observation: cockroaches don't like sunlight.

Just name everyone associated with WikiLeaks, and keep posting their names/identities until the entire cyber-world knows it all by heart. End of WikiLeaks.
