#1 Muslims should respond rationally

When was the last time that happened? If they did, we wouldn't be in this mess.

#2 "Rational Muslims". Goes well beyond "Military Intelligence", eh?

O/T: Mike N., you mentioned elsewhere how yesterday's responses were limited to cell phone texting. I just wanted to say that your own replies seemed both timely and well-thought out.

As to squaliformes settimana, that is another matter entirely.

#3 For some reason, the Stanley Cup comes to mind.

4:30 comes early. Later.

#5 "Dr Riffat said that even the majority of the British people were opposed to the decision of knighting Rushdie."

Err, where's your source Riffy? Me, I normally couldn't give a monkeys who gets a knighthood (they're usually people who have helped Bliar and co. along), but on this occasion, and for the one reason that it's totally pissed off the RoP (TM), I wholeheartedly endorse his investiture and wish Her Majesty would do it again - and then post it on YouTube.

#7 > because history was replete with attempts to malign and misrepresent Islam.

Lots of people have read the koran terrorism manual.

#8 Muslim scholars must give a rational response

Muslim scholars believe they are giving a rational response. That's the problem. allan says kill, and they kill. allan says rage and seethe, and they rage and seethe. allan says froggy, and they jump.

#9 Most muslims havent even read the book. They rely on their so called Scholars/Imans to pass judgement.Brainwashing is easy in Islamic countries.

We need to target the messengers of hatred ie the Scholars and the so called Holy men!!!!!

That is what this War on Terror is all about is to take religion out of state policy.Countries like Iran,Saudi and Pakistan the religious authorities have too much say/Power which they fearlosing!!!

#10 lots of good pts. A strong attempt needs to be made toward muslim youth. Especially the females - like we a trying in iraq. Great target audience for the debunk message I advocated last night.

Personal anectdote; Some of the iraqi interpreters I knew ("terp" for short) were real even keel about islam - most of these guys liked to play soccer in their off time and all of them wanted to come state side. We also had one Jordanian female who we all liked. A lot of the American muslims I trained w/in Cali were of different sects and often argued about the koran but they were all fairly agnostic or deistic in their beliefs - though so am I pretty much so we hit it off real well. I thought it was funny listening to them jabber about the koran when all of them didn't follow 80% of it. Most of them just wanted to chase girls and drive nice cars. Pretty much like any normal 20-something kid in the U.S. I did not worry about them in any 5th column or subterfuge sense - these guys actually had to protect their real i.d.'s for obvious reasons. They hated the Hussein regime, had family histories to prove it and knew the great deal they had in the U.S. - I've no problem w/these types of folks because they keep the religion to themselves. It's the idiots in Dearborn wearing burkas, disparaging inner city blacks & talking about how great the culture of the old country was who are trying to make "Dearbornistan" that need to leave most rik-tik.

Some likelihood!

It far better to continue the search for the Holy Grail from where Sir Galahad left off.
