#2 A "great power" or superpower confrontation, including Amer Hiroshimas, is steadily becoming Moud and Radical Islam's best option, both agz regionally-globally entrenching Dubya-USA, and unreliable anti-Western Westies = Lefty politicos more concerned now about preserving personal power than friend Moud or "Globalism", etc. To stop the USA from entrenching, let alone to get out of the ME, the Radics need to start using their Nuclear War = Nuclear-WMD Terror, etal. cards.

#4 If the Islamofascists feel they are near destruction in Iraq & Afghanistan they will be in a situation which DEMANDS they mount a 'spectacular' attack against the US (or an ally) in order to maintain credibility, funding and recruiting.

#5 Interesting leak. I wonder if this was officially chosen as the means to disseminate the information in order to get broader coverage. A straight forward press release would have been ignored by the MSM. But the chance to hound administration officials to concede the deleterious information uncovered by our media sleuths could stay in the news cycle for a week.

Al-Qaeda NEEDS a hit on the west if they are to maintain any sort of respectability in the Islamic world. Especially since the planned fireworks in England really didn't do much. Except prove that Islamic doctors really suck at bomb making.

#13 Aug 12 will be the anniversary of the collapse of the 1350 year run of Caliphates. They probably wouldn't do anything on that day, but 7-7-7 would have even greater symbolic value than 9-11. The Gas-Bomb jihad should at long last prove that the West in NOT on top of the mosque based terror within our midst, and Muslims believe - with good cause - that they operate under extreme indulgence. I am as worried as Charles Johnson - littlegreenfootballs - that Muslims took the wrong message from both the President's Islamic Center speech, and his deference to the OIC.
