#3 P'rhaps that rumored appointment to the presidency (or whatever the title is) fell through, and he needed something to fill in an otherwise blank spot in his resume... something that wouldn't upset the ideas of his good wife, who used to hang a Palestinian flag from the second story window, if I recall correctly.
