...This is getting weirder and weirder, and trust me - I know from weird.
[HotAir] What actually transpired at the Pelosi household last week? We know the basics: a nutcase attacked an elderly man and nearly killed him after breaking into the house. We also know that Joe Biden and fellow Democrats have attempted to graft this attack onto their midterm "democracy in peril" messaging, including Biden’s national address this week, while simultaneously attempting to tamp down discussion of the facts of the case.
However, NBC offers new details this morning on the police response before the attack — and Paul Pelosi’s curious reaction to it, at least at first. According to their sources, Pelosi himself opened the door when police arrived, and rather than walk out, began to walk back toward assailant David DePape. DePape even assured police that everything was "good," which — given the broken window — police clearly didn’t believe.
Only then did the hammer attack occur, prompting an immediate response from the surprised officers, according to NBC:
None of this changes the basics of the case. DePape is still a lunatic who attacked an elderly man with a hammer after breaking into his house. Paul Pelosi is still lucky to be alive. But the sequence suggested by Miguel Almaguer raises some questions as to whether the attack itself might have been avoided, and what exactly was going on in the house before police arrived.
For instance, why would Pelosi have walked back toward DePape after opening the door to the police? Why not tell them he was in danger? NBC provides a couple of speculative opinions to answer the obvious question this report raises, but without any factual substantiation. They bring in a former FBI analyst to essentially claim that fear makes people do strange things, which may be true but still leaves the conclusion that it was a strange thing to do. The easiest thing to do would have been to walk the other way and tell officers of the danger inside. That would be even more true in the case of an intruder than, say, a domestic-violence situation, where the "fear makes you do strange things" explanation might apply more.
More oddities emerge, too. The new details don’t include whether Pelosi had been attacked prior to the officer’s arrival on scene; Miguel Almaguer notes that explicitly, in fact. If Pelosi was injured prior to their arrival, though, why would police have allowed him to go back into a residence with evidence of burglary apparent? In fact, one has to wonder why they would have let Pelosi do that even without apparent injuries, given the scene at that moment. And why weren’t the officers informed that the residence belonged to the Speaker of the House, who is second in line for succession to the presidency and could have also been inside the home at the time?
Body-cam video and the police reports would be helpful in this case to suss out the answers to the questions raised. At the moment, though, those are not available — and may not be for a long time. As David Strom wrote yesterday, the media doesn’t seem interested in digging deeper into the oddities of this case, and in fact are casting aspersions on anyone looking for some actual journalism in this case as conspiracy-theory kooks. One thing I would say about having worked in the Bay Area - you get used to being around weird people. It is possible to kid yourself that they are harmless. You can run into cases like the guy who thought he was the bear whisperer but with people.

In fairness, Paul's more recent encounters with the law haven't been that terrific.

Without body cam footage, without whatever video the Capitol Police might have, conspiracy theories will thrive. Don't blame the theorists. They've heard too many lies to take this sort of thing at face value without any evidence.

So, we're just supposed to forget the SFPD stated clearly that a 3rd person answered the door, and does any of the possibilities here represent a violation of his DUI probation? We'll never know as SF FBI is on the case for yet another coverup.

If Pelosi called 911 did he decide he needed a wellness check? That's not the way it works.
Where did the hammer come from?
why do they keep saying it was a break in when it obviously wasn't?
#17
" the Bureau and DOJ cannot comment on an ongoing investigation"...Its a federal crime to leak investigative information, so the SFPD/SFDA are careful about any leaks.
Paul Pelosi never let on to responding officers that he was in distress just seconds before he walked back into his house where a man bludgeoned him with a hammer, new details have revealed.
The 82-year-old husband of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi instead smiled at the officers who had responded to the high priority 911 call at his San Francisco home last week, according to court documents, and told them ‘everything’s good.’

Amen to that. A whole lot of time has been spent shaping and crafting a narrative as to what happened rather than just tell the truth as it happened. As has been said, there are a lot of strange things happening in that household.

And then, when he finally came to,
His vision was blurred. Blue, red, blue.
As he groped for the hammer,
He heard his pal stammer,
"No, everything's good," and he knew
If he wanted to live
And his legs didn't give
What the voices would want him to do.

[BREITBART] The Cardinal Journal has learned that a shot was fired into the Hickory, North Carolina, home of Republican Congressional candidate Pat Harrigan on October 18, 2022, the bullet entering the home "only a few feet" from where Harrigan’s children were sleeping.
According to the Cardinal Journal, "Harrigan owns the home, which is currently occupied by his parents. ... [and] Harrigan’s children were in the home when the incident occurred."
Hickory Police Department spokesperson Kristen Hart said, "No one was injured, but the officers investigating did find evidence of a bullet casing which is being looked into."
Harrigan is running in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District against State Sen. Jeff Jackson (D).
On October 27 the Charlotte Observer noted that Harrigan wrote an open letter claiming the political campaign had become so vitriolic that he "wears a bulletproof vest to major public events and has received a death threat."
In the letter, directed to Jackson, Harrigan said Jackson filmed a political ad in front of one of Harrigan’s Hickory homes in late September, and claims the ad opened his family up to greater danger.
Harrigan wrote, "As I travel, wherever my family is located, they are significantly less safe with me in this race. And they are even less safe now that you’ve shown one of my homes to the world."
Harrigan wound down his letter to Jackson by observing, "There are many questions I have about you, your taxes, former home, current home, and your personal life. But I’m never going to film an ad in front of your home, violating the sanctity and security of your family."

SB,
Let me just say this - North Carolina is a LOT redder than the media and its Democratic leadership would have you believe.
Put another way, believe me when I tell you Hickory ain't RDU or Wilmington or Asheville.
Mike
PS - and on reflection, you'll know the locals were getting close when the FBI steps in and takes over the investigation.

Probably worth taking steps to make sure t that it only happens once. It’s worth checking what your homeowners association has written with regard to entrenched positions. I don’t know that the state of North Carolina requires special licensing for a Stinger emplacement.

[Breitbart] Massachusetts’ governor wants Americans in other states to fund food and shelter for the several thousand illegal migrants colonists sent by the federal government to cheap-labor employers and high-rent landlords in the Old Colony State.
The state’s establishment-Republican governor, Charles Baker, is welcoming the illegal migrants colonists. But he also asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on October 31 to fund many of the poor migrants colonists who cannot earn enough wages to pay the high rents demanded by the state’s landlords.
"I write to ask for urgent federal government assistance for the resettlement of immigrant families arriving in Massachusetts," Baker wrote, adding:
In federal fiscal year 2022, the Massachusetts-based resettlement agencies served a total of 4,334 individuals, including over 2,000 Afghan Humanitarian Parolees, 822 Cuban and Haitian Entrants, and 548 refugees.
...
Cuban and Haitian Entrants, Amerasians, Asylees, and Certified Victims of Human Trafficking are not eligible for the dedicated refugee resettlement services funds provided to refugees under the Department of States’ Reception and Placement program and to Afghan and Ukrainian Humanitarian Parolees under [federal] Refugee Support Services. And immigrants colonists that elect Temporary Protected Status or apply for asylum are wholly ineligible for ... federal benefits.

[Breitbart] During the first month of the new fiscal year, Border Patrol agents apprehended approximately 204,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border between ports of entry. In October 2021, Agents apprehended a record-setting 159,113 migrants. This October shatters that record with an increase of more than 28 percent.
The apprehension by Border Patrol agents of more than 204,000 migrants in October represents the eighth-straight month where agents apprehended more than 200,000 migrants. The number of apprehensions this October comes from an unofficial report reviewed exclusively by Breitbart Texas.
The El Paso Sector jumped ahead of the Rio Grande Valley and Del Rio Sectors to become the busiest of the nine southwest Border Patrol sectors, the report revealed. El Paso agents apprehended approximately 53,000 migrants. This is up from nearly 14,000 apprehended in October 2021 — an increase of nearly 280 percent.
Del Rio Sector apprehensions fell from 43,000 in September to approximately 42,000 in October. However, the October apprehensions are up by 50 percent over last October’s apprehension of just over 28,200 migrants.
In the Rio Grande Valley Sector, agents apprehended approximately 28,000 migrants. This represents a slight increase from September when agents apprehended 27,863 migrants.
Demographics of migrant apprehensions are shifting along the Rio Grande as Venezuelan migrants appear to be moving in large numbers from the Del Rio Sector to the El Paso Sector. The Del Rio Sector is now seeing increasing numbers of Cuban migrants, according to a source within U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
[ZeroHedge] A Republican congressman is urging Elon Musk, Twitter’s new owner, to hand over all records related to the social media company’s suppression of a story about Hunter Biden’s laptop in the weeks leading to the 2020 presidential election.
Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, said in a letter that he expects Twitter’s new leadership to cooperate with the investigation into “the Biden family’s pattern of influence peddling to enrich themselves and President Biden’s involvement in these schemes.”
“As part of this investigation, Committee Republicans are reviewing the role Big Tech—including Twitter—played in supporting the Biden campaign in 2020 by suppressing certain stories implicating the Bidens,” Comer wrote in an Oct. 28 letter (pdf) to Musk.
A previous attempt to obtain relevant information from Twitter was unsuccessful, according to Comer, as former Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal never responded to the congressional request that the company “preserve all documents and communications” regarding the decision to limit the reach of a New York Post article about emails retrieved from Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Those emails, according to the Post, showed a direct link then-presidential candidate Joe Biden had with his son’s dubious business dealings in China and Ukraine. Shortly after the story’s publication, Twitter not only prohibited users from sharing it, but also suspended the Post’s account for two weeks.
Users who tried to share the story’s link were greeted with a message saying, “We can’t complete this request because this link has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially harmful.” Those who tried to open the link in existing posts were also warned that it was “potentially spammy and unsafe.”

Highly unlikely to have much impact on the outcome of the election unless the perpetrator is caught in the act. Then it has real value which is to reveal the man's true character for all to see. Unfortunately, many will still vote for him.

[MEDIAITE] MSNBC presidential historian Michael Beschloss on Wednesday night warned that if Republican candidates win their races next week, American democracy and the free press could end, historians may no longer exist, and "our children" could all die at the hands of a "brutal authoritarian system."
President Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. SOld, boring, a plagiarist, fond of hair sniffing and grabbing the protruding parts of women, and not whatcha call brilliant... or is that an act?... said in his Wednesday night speech that, in the upcoming midterms, "democracy itself is "at stake," a message that MSNBC’s Chris Hayes and much of the media have been repeating for months. Hayes played clips from the speech, including the president saying that electing certain Republicans is a "path to chaos" — a comment with which Hayes clearly agreed.
"Whether we take that path to chaos, whether we continue to march down, it is one of the major choices — if not the major choice — that voters face this coming Tuesday," said Hayes.
Biden delivered his speech about democracy and political violence at the peak of a week of condemnations directed at Republican rhetoric for demonizing political opponents. Beschloss joined Hayes to analyze that speech, which he says precedes a midterm that will decide whether the president’s political opponents get to institute a brutal, child-murdering authoritarian dictatorship.
"We could be six days away from losing our rule of law," the historian declared.

I wish the GOP could build a brutal authoritarian system. It's just not in them. Prison. They can send democrat criminals to prison at the most. And chances will be 50/50 at best for successful prosecution.

Yes. The simple fact is that they have shredded the Constitution and destroyed rule of law. It’s been an orgy of law-breaking, lying, negligence, incompetence and graft — across every domain.
The scope of this malfeasance is unbelievable when you think about it. Not just destroying the southern border, or unleashing violent criminals on us. They call us “domestic terrorists” and bully our kids, put their disgusting freaks into the little girls’ bathrooms, force our kids to take their manufactured spike protein jab that doesn’t work and that’s killing or destroying the health of hundreds of thousands. These criminal lunatics have destroyed our economy, ruined our savings and are slavering for world war. Fuck them. Lock them up.
