[AlAhram] The trial of Egyptian-American father Yasser Said,
...also in our archives as Yaser Abdel Said and Yaser Said, he was well known to the local police for abusing his daughters...
65, who is accused of fatally shooting his two teenage daughters in New Year's Day in 2008, began on Tuesday in Texas, with the defendant facing a life sentence if convicted.
Amina Said, 18, and Sarah Said, 17, were found dead in a taxi parked near a Dallas-area hotel nearly a week after they and their mother, Said's ex-wife, fled their home in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville to Oklahoma to get away from Said's threats, the prosecutor said Tuesday during his opening statements at the capital murder trial.
The sisters had become "very scared for their lives," and the decision to leave was made after Said "put a gun to Amina's head and threatened to kill her," prosecutor Lauren Black added, reported the AP.
The Egyptian-born cab driver came to the US on a student visa in 1983 and lived with his family just north of Dallas, Texas, and evaded arrest for more than 12 years, according to news agencies.
Said spent six years on the FBI ...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time... Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list before he was arrested in 2020, nearly 12 years after the accident.
AP reported that Said wrote in a letter to the judge that he was overseeing the case and that he was not happy with his kids’ "dating activity" but denied killing his daughters, while prosecutor Black said that he was "obsessed with possession and control."
"He controlled what they did, who they talked to, who they could be friends with, if they and who they could date," the prosecutor added. "And he controlled everything in his household."
Following his capture, Patricia Owens, mother of the victims and Said’s former wife, said that she does not know the motive behind the murder. "All I can say is there’s going to be justice," Owens said in remarks to The Dallas Morning News.
In a previous statement reported in 2011 by the same outlet, Owens, who divorced Said in 2009, said that she does not know what drove Said to kill.
Owens said her ex-husband was not religious and that Islam does not condone the killing of innocents, however, she said that he was obsessed with his daughters becoming what he considered "too westernized."
Sarah Said had called 911 the night she was killed and told the operator "I'm dying, I'm dying..." A short time later, the authorities received another call from a man reporting two women unconscious in a car in the parking lot of the Omni Mandalay Hotel in Irving, Texas.
With multiple gunshot wounds each, the police found the girls dead inside the taxi that their father had driven for the past 10 days as per the taxi's registered owner.
Defense attorney Joseph Patton said in opening statements that the evidence would not support a conviction, explaining that in moments of extreme trauma like being shot multiple times, people can have hallucinations.
The police were too quick to focus on Said, Patton said, suggesting that anti-Moslem sentiments played into that focus, AP's report noted.
The report also cited an email sent from Amina Said to her Lewisville High School history teacher a few days before the crime. The prosecutor read the email in which Amina stated that she and her sister Sarah did not want to live by their father’s culture and marry men from the Middle East, "especially men we don’t know or love."
"I know that he will search until he finds us, and he will without any drama nor doubt kill us," the email added.
In 2020, the defendant was found hiding in Justin, Texas, barely 30 miles (48 kilometres) from the scene of the murder.
He had reportedly been sheltered by his son Islam Said, and his brother Yassein Said. The pair were arrested and are serving sentences in federal prison.
Said became a permanent American resident after gaining citizenship in 1997.

This burning of widows is your custom; prepare the funeral pile. But my nation has also a custom. When men burn women alive we hang them, and confiscate all their property. My carpenters shall therefore erect gibbets on which to hang all concerned when the widow is consumed. Let us all act according to national customs. - Charles James Napier
[NYPOST] The man who allegedly shot a McDonald’s worker — leaving him clinging to life — during a heated spat over cold fries has been charged with attempted murder, cops said Wednesday.
Michael Morgan, 20, was taken into custody shortly after the Monday night shooting outside the eatery at 1531 Fulton St. in Bed-Stuy — and was charged late Tuesday with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said.
Camellia Dunlap, 18 — identified by police sources as Morgan’s girlfriend — was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.
Her exact role in the shooting was not immediately known.
The 23-year-old victim was working at the fast-food joint at 1531 Fulton St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 7 p.m. Monday when Morgan’s mother began hassling him over her fries, a high-ranking police source said.

Couldn't Morgan and his girlfriend just have asked for some different fries instead of blasting some hapless Mickey Dee's worker (Rhetorical question)? Toss the mom in the clink too. Most likely the Yoot was carrying illegally.
[NYPOST] A maiden of tender years chewed through restraints to escape a rural Alabama home where Sherlocks later found two decomposing bodies, authorities said.
José Paulino Pascual-Reyes, 37, is facing kidnapping charges and multiple counts of capital murder in connection to the bodies found at the home after a 12-year-old girl was discovered walking along a roadside early Monday in Dadeville.
Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett told news hounds at a presser that a driver picked up the girl and called 911 — setting off an investigation that led to Pascual-Reyes’ arrest and the gruesome discovery, AL.com reported.
Pascual-Reyes, who remains tossed in the calaboose Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out! pending a bond hearing, was arrested in Auburn. The bodies were found in his Dadeville home, not far from where the girl was discovered wandering alone.
The decomposing remains have been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to be identified, Abbett said, adding it’s unclear how long they had been there. They hadn't yet mummified. "It's a fluid investigation"
"It’s a fluid investigation," the sheriff told news hounds. "Things are changing, and I don’t want to jeopardize the identification of our juvenile."
Court filings obtained by WSFA show the girl had been tied to bedposts for nearly a week. She was assaulted and plied with alcohol, but managed to escape by chewing through her restraints, the documents show.
Authorities did not indicate whether the girl knew Pascual-Reyes, AL.com reported.
“I would say she’s a hero,” Abbett said. “It’s one of those things we won’t get into until later. We gave her medical attention. She is safe now. We want to keep her that way.”
Pascual-Reyes had lived at the home since February, Abbett said. Other people were there when cops arrived, but he did not elaborate, AL.com reported.
“It’s horrendous to have a crime scene of this nature,” the sheriff told reporters Tuesday.

If he turns out to be an illegal? I hope every blog brings it up and uses it as an example of what Wide Open and/or Improperly Secured Borders offers the US Citizens.
Not the same as sharks with friggin' lasers in their heads. [NYPOST] An alligator in a Florida pond gave passerby a scare over the weekend when it was spotted swimming with a large knife sticking out of its head.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said on Monday it was notified about photos depicting the knifed reptile circulating on social media, ClickOrlando.com reported.
Reports stated that several passersby observed the alligator in a pond along Providence Boulevard in Deltona on a recent afternoon.
FWC officers were dispatched to the location over the weekend and captured the alligator with the knife still protruding from the top of its head.
The animal was then euthanized because of the severity of its injuries.
The person who stabbed the alligator has not been identified yet.
Florida laws prohibit intentionally killing or injuring an alligator, unless authorized by the FWC commission, or as part of the Statewide Alligator Harvest Program.

[WND] Many journalists in Washington, D.C. are taking small doses of psychedelic mushrooms to improve their performance, according to Politico.
A 2020 D.C. ballot initiative made enforcement of bans on the purchase and distribution of psychedelic mushrooms the lowest priority of law enforcement, making the substance “basically legal,” according to Politico. The substance is used recreationally in full doses as well as in smaller "microdoses," which some believe can improve brain function.
"Microdosing mushrooms as a kind of performance-enhancing brain boost — already wildly popular among the California tech set — is now fairly common in Washington, especially in media circles," the Politico article said.
Additionally, many journalists are "macrodosing," or taking large quantities of mushrooms to experience a psychedelic trip, as well.
Some journalists questioned the author’s claim that microdosing was common is Washington media circles. Read the rest at the link

"I see an alternate reality, where adding copious amounts of money into circulation devalues the money, like when 6 year olds play Monopoly and all paid money goes into Free Parking."
I figgered all the hot air in Texas and the midwest sucked the heat out of the hurricane season. [Forbes] It is the Atlantic hurricane season, and all of the seasonal projection experts said the same thing. It’s going to be another above-average season. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website notes, "Based on a 30-year climate period from 1991 to 2020, an average Atlantic hurricane season has 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes, and 3 major hurricanes." To date, three storms have been named, and they were all tropical storms. But, never fear - the worst is yet to come!
While the past few weeks have been normal to slightly-below normal, it may surprise some readers that activity is still trending slightly ahead of schedule relative to climatological normals over a 30-year period. The third named storm of the season does not typically form until August 3rd. This year it formed around July 4th. On average, we do not expect the first hurricane and major storm (> category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale) until August 11th and September 1st, respectively. The next named system in the basin (4th storm) does not usually form until around August 15th. Many more boring meteorological details at the link.

This is EXACTLY what climatistas predicted: few hurricanes or more hurricanes. Droughts and floods. Extra hot summers and cold winters. Or cool summers and warm winters.
Anything can be blamed on climate change!

I despise the motives behind this. Orwellian erasure of our history is essential to its deconstruction to create the basis for revolutionary thought. They have to make American exceptionalism and prosperity brought on by capitalism and a vast middle class into a hate filled lie to justify the globalist future they are selling.
Honoring Confederate Generals was an act of reconciliation and recognition of resumed brotherhood. History of shared national comity, with all the sad exceptions along the way, doesn't fit the "white supremacy and racism" needed to fuel the useful idiot minds for the coming revolution.
"Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present, controls the past… The mutability of the past is the central tenet of Ingsoc. Past events, it is argued, have no objective existence, but survive only in written records and in human memories. The past is whatever the records and the memories agree upon. And since the Party is in full control of all records, and in equally full control of the minds of its members, it follows that the past is whatever the Party chooses to make it."

Lee's actions after the war more than qualify him for recognition. It all could have degenerated into an ongoing unending insurgency at even greater costs to each side. Instead, Lee set the example, and had the influence that it required, that the issue was done and over.

Wiki on 29th ID: "The 29th Infantry Division has been featured numerous times in popular media, particularly for its role on D-Day. The division's actions on Omaha Beach are featured prominently in the 1962 film The Longest Day,[61] as well as in the 1998 film Saving Private Ryan.[62][63] Soldiers of the division are featured in other films and television with smaller roles, such as in the 2009 film Inglourious Basterds and the 2005 film War of the Worlds.[citation needed]
The 29th Infantry Division is also featured in numerous video games related to World War II. The division's advance through Normandy and Europe is featured in the games Close Combat, Company of Heroes and Call of Duty 3, in which the player assumes the role of a soldier of the division.[64]"
No wonder the Wokesters have a good hate for the 29th ID --it's popular with all the wrong people!
[BBC] The only ways to get to the Old Forge Pub are by sea ferry or by a two-day, 18-mile hike across the Scottish Highlands — a trip that gives new meaning to the term "pub crawl".
Our journey began at the end of the road. The longest dead-end road in Britain, in fact. It took two hours of knuckle-whitening jags around hairpin bends and past sheer descents, on a 22-mile taxi ride from the town of Fort William in the western Scottish Highlands, to get to our starting point of Kinloch Hourn.
In the company of two friends, Carl and José, I was embarking on a journey to the most remote pub in mainland Britain. Accessible only by sea ferry or by a two-day, 18-mile hike across the Scottish Highlands from the small settlement of Kinloch Hourn (or an even longer, 28-mile yomp from the hamlet of Glenfinnan), the Old Forge sits in the village of Inverie, on the southern coast of the Knoydart peninsula. "Walking in" to the pub is a rite of passage in the outdoors community, and one we were keen to tick off, thirsty in equal measure for adventure and the extreme satisfaction of a pint well earned.
Forming part of the so-called Rough Bounds – the "highlands of the Highlands" – Knoydart is remote and inaccessible even by local standards. There are no streetlights, you can't get a mobile phone signal, and the seven miles of paved roads are unconnected to the mainland network. Around 120 residents lived here at the last count, spread across 86 square miles (that's approximately the same population density as Alaska). The majority of those brave and hardy souls live in Inverie, and now, after a community buyout in March 2022, most of them own a stake in the Old Forge.
TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) — After a trip that drew China’s wrath, a defiant Nancy Pelosi concluded her visit to Taiwan on Wednesday with a pledge that the American commitment to democracy on the self-governing island and elsewhere "remains ironclad."
Pelosi received a euphoric welcome as the first U.S. House speaker to visit in more than 25 years, and China swiftly responded by announcing multiple military exercises nearby.
The speaker’s departure for South Korea came just a day before China was scheduled to launch its largest maneuvers aimed at Taiwan in more than a quarter of a century.
Before leaving, a calm but resolute Pelosi repeated previous remarks about the world facing "a choice between democracy and autocracy."
"America’s determination to preserve democracy, here in Taiwan and around the world, remains ironclad," she said in a short speech during a meeting with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen.

I still can find no logical reasoning for her to even go on trips like this.
Remember 'Queen' Nancy's triumphant walks with a ceremonial gavel when she was elected speaker? Vanity. Narcissism. Nancy seems to live in a world where she is Prime Minister For Life™ in a parliamentary US government ...or at least she seems to act like it.

[REGNUM] On August 3, the Serbian List, a political organization of Kosovo Serbs, announced that they had set themselves the task of overthrowing the government of Albin Kurti in Kosovo.
According to the Albanian news agency Telegrafi, the party has said that this government is working against the interests of the Serbian people.
The "Serbian List" emphasized that they do not cooperate with Kurti, since he interferes with the establishment of peace.
“[Kosovo’s] Minister of the Interior Celal ] Svechla cannot accept the fact that the Serbs in northern Kosovo are more united than ever and are surviving and standing up against his threats and trusting in the leadership of the Serbian List.
It should be noted that Kurti's government was the first to not accept the "Serbian list" into the ruling coalition.

While I am against Abortion On Demand, I have to consider the long range flip side of this.
Giving the Gov. /Political types the POWER to decide Personal Moral issues every election, is political fertilizer, for greater social problems down the road to happen.
With that said, Kansas already has something on the Legal Books. But it badly needs tweaking, given the advancement in Pregnancy Detection kits in the last 45 years. Now available for under $5 in many a Dollar Stores.
#4
It seems the amendment would have given the legislature the right to regulate abortion, and (I suppose) change the regulation every time the legislature changed.
I suspect both pro-life and pro-choice groups missed that part.

I'm not putting too much into it other than:
() Weirdly timed bill - primary rather than general.
() Therefore, low voter turnout
() Majority of 'No' voters were Interstate People
() Oddly worded
() The 'no' voters really showed their ass on election day, one even wishing rape on my daughter to prove a point.*
*bout tired of this bosswoman bullshit, no consequence thinking.

The I-35 People were doing some end-zone dancing until they realized this result kind of destroyed The Narrative.
And like I said, The Whips going around saying that daughters needed to be raped in order to teach some manners was not a good look.
I'd more more accepting of the results had the question been during the general election, and had enough time to make the case instead of only the I-35 media yelling. And it is a constitutional amendment and I"m ok with the process, as it was our state's constitution which kindly instructed the governess to shove her ever loving covid protocols up her cat piss smelling ass.

*there is a lot of out of state and international business on the I-35 corridor, and they love to shit all over us hick Kansans, so there is a real peer push among those communities to be seen as progressives, especially with social issues, "Oh, I'm not like those Kansans; I just work here."
