Deadly Taliban attack targets Kabul police HQ
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] An Islamist Taliban jacket wallah attacked police headquarters in the Afghan capital on Sunday, killing at least one person and wounding six, police and the hard boyz said.

A second kaboom in the center of Kabul did not kill or injure anyone, the government said.

The bad boys, who were ousted from power by an American-led coalition in 2001, are seeking to destabilize Afghanistan as most foreign troops leave the country this year.

The Taliban grabbed credit for the police HQ attack on Twitter and said it was carried out by a suicide bomber. Police said they were investigating.

"The attack took place during a meeting between foreign advisers and police inside the police compound," Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid said.

Shaboobs take back Strategic Kudhaa Island
KUDHAA, Somalia -- Somalia's Al Qaeda linked Al Shabaab militants have taken back strategic Island in Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia from Jubaland forces on Saturday morning according to residents, Garowe Online reports.
Strategic to whom?
Al though Al Shabaab severed telecommunication lines, initial estimates unveil at least 23 deaths.

The retake of Kudhaa Island came after heavily armed Al Shabaab militants launched raid on Jubaland forces positions. Heavy gun-battle that lasted nearly three hours flushed Jubaland forces out of the key bastion.

Jubaland administration officials were not quick to talk to Garowe Online on the seizure but torrential rains which caused cave-ins on the roads leading to Kudhaa hampered reinforcements.

Kudhaa, 45 km south-west of the southern port city of Kismayo fell to Kenyan-AMISOM peacekeepers and Jubaland forces on 1st of November, and had since been a spot for illegal charcoal exports.

House of Representatives votes to sack Grand Mufti
[Libya Herald] Libya's House of Representatives (HoR) voted today to sack Grand Mufti Sheikh Sadik Al-Ghariani and dissolve the Dar Al-Ifta, reassigning the duties of Grand Mufti to the Authority of Islamic Endowment.

Even before the Supreme Court ruled the HoR illegal and unconstitutional this week, it would have been most unlikely that Ghariani or his supporters would have accepted the decision. Now it is far more unlikely. Further complicating today's ruling is the fact that there were reportedly only 76 MP present for the vote, although the appointment of a Grand Mufti is not seen as a constitutional issue.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called a hurried meeting of his closest advisors. It was to be his last. They discussed the officers's efficiency rating system...
Ghariani himself has spent the past few days publicly congratulating the Libyan people and Prime Minister Omer Al-Hassi's antigovernment on the Supreme Court decision.

Ghariani appeared live on TV satellite channels loyal to Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
, giving a message to the Libyan people. He congratulated the Libyans on their victory over what he called the "enemies of the revolution".

Ghariani released public statements directed to different parties as well. In his first message to what he described as "the good Libyans", he encouraged them to stand firm on their principles, not giving way to despair, and he promised victory from Allah.

In his second message, to Hassi, the Grand Mufti asked him and his administration to take the following decisions immediately:
  • Appoint the right people in the right positions in order to build the government institutions and to provide security to the people;
  • Ensure that all decisions are in accordance with Islam, with the first step being to stop the banks from breaking the laws of Islamic banking;
  • Pay special care to the young revolutionaries who are fighting in the battlefields by appointing them to good positions in the government, taking care of their families and providing medical treatment to those who are injured.
Ghariani's third message was directed to the revolutionaries. He urged them to be good people and to save themselves by stopping the "bad people who are using drugs and robbing people" from penetrating their ranks.

In Ghariani's final message, to the international community, he asked them side with the Libyan people and not with failing politicians who wanted to steal the benefits of the revolution from Libyans. He exhorted the international community to respect the law as they do in their own modern societies.

Nigerian school bombing kills at least 35
At least 35 people, mostly students, were killed when a bomb tore through a school assembly in Nigeria's northeastern town of Potiskum today.

Potiskum resident Aliyu Abubakar said he heard the blast when he was dropping off his two sons at a nearby Islamic college. He said, "One of my sons fell down, I came out dragged him in and we drove off back home."

Potiskum General Hospital has reported receiving 35 bodies. A teacher, asking to remain anonymous, said, "There are some (others) that are critically injured and I am sure the death toll will rise."

Northern Ireland Man Faces Syria Terror Charges
[Ynet] A Northern Ireland man who says he fought against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group in Syria appeared in court Saturday charged with terrorism offenses.

Eamon Bradley of Londonderry is charged with possessing a grenade and receiving training in arms and explosives.

A police officer told the court that the 25-year-old convert to Islam traveled to Syria earlier this year and joined the Army of Islam, a group fighting both the Syrian government and IS. He says he took part in two battles against the regime and one against the Islamic State group.

Bradley's lawyer said the young man did not believe he had committed a crime, and judge Barney McElholm said the case raised issues about the definition of terrorism. "As I understand it he was fighting against a tyrannical and murderous regime," the judge said. "And I would find it very hard for the state to argue that fighting against (IS) was an act of terrorism."

Mexico Gang Members 'Admit Killing Missing Students'
[BBC] Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo: ''I know that the information we have obtained causes great pain in the families''

Suspected gang members have confessed to killing more than 40 students missing for six weeks, Mexican Attorney General Jesus Murillo has said.

He said three alleged gang members claimed the students were handed over to them by police.

They said some were already asphyxiated and they shot the others dead, before setting fire to all the bodies.

A total of 43 students went missing after clashing with police on 26 September in the town of Iguala.

A front man for their families said they would not accept they were dead until it had been officially confirmed by Argentine forensic scientists working on the case.

Bags found near river
The suspects from the Guerreros Unidos narco gang were recently tossed in the clink
Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un!
in connection with the disappearances.

Relatives of the missing said they had been told that six bags of unidentified human remains had been found along a river near where the students vanished.

Mr Murillo warned that it would be difficult to identify the charred remains and that authorities would continue to consider the students as missing until DNA tests confirmed the identities.

Previous searches have uncovered mass graves in the area, but initial tests suggested they did not contain the remains of the students.

Mr Murillo showed videotaped confessions by the suspects who said they had loaded the students into dumper trucks and taken them to a landfill site in Cocula, a city near Iguala.

About 15 of the students were already dead when they arrived and the rest were shot, according to the suspects.

Mr Murillo said the bodies were then burned with petrol, tyres, firewood and plastic in an inferno that lasted for 14 hours.

"The fire lasted from midnight to 2pm the next day. The criminals could not handle the bodies (for three hours) due to the heat," he said.

He said that the suspects then crushed the remains, stuffed them into bags and tossed them in a river.

Mr Murillo showed videos of Sherlocks combing through small pieces of burned remains that were found in black plastic bags.

The suspects said they were not sure how many students they had taken but one said there were more than 40, Mr Murillo added.

"The high level of degradation caused by the fire in the remains we found make it very difficult to extract the DNA that will allow an identification,'' he added.

In what was at times a very graphic presser, Attorney General Jesus Murillo laid out his office's findings into the disappearance of the students.

When they were handed over to the gang, around 15 of the students had already died from asphyxiation, he said. The remaining students were rubbed out near a rubbish dump.

At that point, members of the gang - according to their own testimony, video clips of which were shown by the attorney general - burnt the students' bodies in a pyre.

Human remains from the river are now to be identified by experts in Austria, but Mr Murillo said it wasn't clear how long the process would take.

However,
there is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened...
relatives of the missing remained sceptical. The families have been highly critical of the investigation into the students' disappearance.

"As long as there are no results, our sons are alive," Felipe de la Cruz, the father of one of the disappeared, said in a statement.

"Today they're trying to close the case this way... a blatant way to further our torture by the federal government."

The case has shocked Mexico. Thousands have staged protests over what they say is collusion between officials and organised crime, along with government inaction.

President Enrique Pena Nieto has faced widespread criticism and on Friday he vowed to hunt down all those responsible for the "horrible crime".

The students from a teacher training college in Ayotzinapa, in Guerrero state, had travelled to nearby Iguala to protest against what they said were discriminatory hiring practices, and to collect funds for their college.

But they went missing after festivities with the police.

Six people were also killed after police opened fire and witnesses described seeing the students being bundled into police cars.

More than 70 people have been arrested in connection with the disappearances, including the Mayor of Iguala, Jose Luis Abarca, and his wife, Maria de los Angeles Pineda, who were detained in Mexico City on Tuesday.

Mexican officials accused Mr Abarca of ordering police to confront the students to prevent them from disrupting a public speech given by his wife.

ASWJ man shot dead in 'sectarian' attack
[DAWN] KARACHI: A worker of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat

...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
on Saturday.

The area police said that armed assailants riding a cycle of violence intercepted rickshaw driver Muhammad Wasiuddin Sheikh, 35, near the Powerhouse traffic intersection when he was driving his three-wheeler.

"The gunnies fired multiple shots that left him badly maimed and sped away," said an official at the New Karachi cop shoppe. "He died during treatment at the Abbasi Shaheed Hopital."

The victim was hit by three bullets. He was a resident of New Karachi and the body was handed over to the family after medico-legal formalities, he added. A front man for the ASWJ condemned the incident and said that the police and security agencies had failed to protect the workers and leaders of his party despite several assurances. "Wasiuddin was a senior party member and actively attached with our New Karachi's organizational structure," he added.

Iraq
ISIS terror chief 'believed dead'
[DAILYMAIL.CO.UK] Speculation is mounting that the leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was indeed killed in a US led airstrike on Friday.

On Sunday senior Iraqi officials confirmed that the leader of the Islamic State group was at the very least wounded in the coalition attack and said that the terror chief's right hand man, Auf Abdulrahman Elefery, had perished during the aerial assault.

Elefery, who is known by his code name Abu Suja, died when planes hit an ISIS convoy near Mosul in northern Iraq.

However, conflicting reports surround the fate of Baghdadi.

ISIS members have taken to social media to claim that he was not traveling in the same convoy that claimed Elefery's life, while other sources have stated that the feared warlord was killed or seriously injured in the airstrike.

An Iraqi security official, Hisham al-Hashimi, told the UK's Daily Telegraph that Elefery was 'Baghdadi's very close companion' and was killed in the attack which destroyed up to 10 vehicles.

'He and Baghdadi were rarely separate. It's for this reason that it could be possible that Baghdadi was with him at the time of the attack,' he said to the British newspaper.

Hashimi revealed that Elefery's death was confirmed to him by relatives.

General Nicholas Houghton, the Chief of the Defence Staff of the British Armed Forces told the Daily Telegraph: 'I can't absolutely confirm that Baghdadi has been killed. Probably it will take some days to have absolute confirmation.'

The colonel said Iraqi troops entered Baiji, a city of about 200,000 people, from the south and west and took over the al-Tamim neighborhood and city center.

Young Woman Stabbed to Death at Gush Etzion Junction
A young woman was stabbed to death and two other people were wounded in a terrorist attack at a hitchhiking station outside the town of Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion Monday evening - the second such attack in less than 12 hours.

The 25-year-old woman died of neck wounds, according to paramedics.

A 26-year-old man who was also stabbed is in light to moderate condition and a 50-year-old was hurt in the jaw and is in light condition.

Witnesses say the terrorist tried to run down his victims with a car at first, but failed, and then got out of the car and began stabbing.

The guard at the gate of the community of Alon Shvut came running to the scene of the rampage and shot the terrorist in the chest several times.
Probably violated his rights
Police said the terrorist was evacuated to hospital with serious injuries but died en-route. He has since been identified as Maher Hamdi al-Hashalmoun, a resident of Hevron.

The bus station where the attack took place is the same one at which Israeli teens Eyal Yifrah, Gilad Sha'ar and Naftali Frenkel were abducted earlier this year before being brutally murdered.

The attack is the second stabbing in six hours, after a Palestinian worker stabbed a 20 year-old IDF soldier in Tel Aviv.
Call in the armoured IDF bulldozers -- there are two family compounds to destroy.

#1  Exile the entire family to either Syria or Sudan. Do that to any copy-cats or other terrorists. Pretty soon, the problem will be solved.

#2  What calibre are they using that would allow him to be shot several times in the chest and yet still live? Hasn't anyone there heard of the 45 ACP or the 357 Mag? Whatever happened to the training spiel of "2 in the centre of mass then 1 to the head"? Am I missing something from this story, or is it just the old "It takes at least two 9 mms to do what one 45 Auto will do" thing?

#4  Having been stabbed in the throat myself this tends too be a real personal attack. So make it it real personal and kick the shit out of the whole family, which in terms of arabs includes all of them. Bunch of inbred pieces of shit.

#5  Canuckistan -- pistols of any caliber are not guaranteed to kill, even with a disabling shot. There was a self-defense case here in Ohio a few years ago where the thug took two .45 rounds in the torso -- one a hollow-point -- and lived.

Plus, it's unlikely Israelis use hollow-points. They'd be hearing endless whines about "war crimes" if they did, even in cases like this where the Paleostain was committing a war crime.

Navy Fires On Suspicious Gaza Boat Returning From Sinai
[IsraelTimes] An Israel Navy ship fired at a suspicious Paleostinian vessel returning to the Gazoo Strip from the Sinai Peninsula late Sunday night.

Israeli forces tracked the boat as it left the southern Gazoo Strip, the Ynet news site reported. When it returned from the Sinai laden with cargo, the navy ordered the boat to stop.

When it refused to do so, Israeli forces opened fire, striking the boat.

An Israeli naval official tasked with safeguarding Israel's maritime boundary with Gazoo told Israel Radio in October that Gazoo's shore was "one big tunnel," in reference to Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,'s numerous smuggling and attack tunnels dug under the Egyptian and Israeli borders. Dozens of such tunnels were destroyed by Israel during Operation Protective Edge during the summer.

The officer said that after the Egyptians destroyed many of the smuggling tunnels dug between Sinai and Gazoo in 2013-2014, attempts had intensified to smuggle weaponry via the sea.

While most Gazoo fishermen were not involved in terrorist activity, he stressed that terror operatives were continually using those fishermen's freedoms to smuggle weapons and plan attacks.

Under the terms of an August 26 truce agreement, which ended a deadly 50-day war between Israel and Hamas turbans, Gazoo fishermen are permitted to trawl the waters up to six nautical miles off the shore.
Update from The Times of Israel at 12:30 ET:
2 Gazans wounded, 4 missing after Israel fires on smugglers

Two Gazoo fishermen were maimed and four missing Monday after the Israeli navy fired on two boats off the coast, officials from the Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-run security services said.

It was not immediately clear whether the four had been locked away
Please don't kill me!
, the officials added.
That's the official Hamas line, then. Got it.
The Israeli military confirmed that naval fire had destroyed one boat it said had been involved in smuggling, but had no information about the four fishermen reported missing.

The two maimed fishermen were pulled out of the water off the southern port of Rafah after the Israeli fire destroyed both boats, a Hamas security official said.

The Israeli military said that naval vessels had tracked a boat engaged in smuggling from nearby Egypt.

"The navy identified a fishing boat which had left the Gazoo shore and went down towards Egypt," a statement said.

"The forces followed the boat and identified it heading back towards Gazoo, fully loaded," it said, adding that Israeli warships had fired warning shots before targeting the vessel when it failed to respond.

"The smuggling attempt was foiled and the target was destroyed," it said, without indicating what the boat had been carrying.

Riots Continue In Kafr Kanna, East Jerusalem
[Ynet] Arab students protest at Tel Aviv, Haifa universities; partial strike in businesses in both Arab and mixed communities as some businesses open their doors; 'If we stay quiet, then police might do this again elsewhere, and we don't know who's next,' says business owner who joined strike.

Clashes between Kafr Kanna residents and police continued Sunday after dozens of Arab students at Tel Aviv and Haifa universities protested the shooting of a knife-wielding 22-year-old Israeli Arab rubbed out by police Sunday. Riots were also reported in East Jerusalem.

Dozens of protesters in Kafr Kanna were hurling stones at police, setting tires on fire, blocking the entry road to the town and waving Paleostinian flags. Twenty rioters have been nabbed

Syrian Army Planes Bomb Northern Town Killing 21
[Ynet] At least 21 people were killed and around 100 maimed overnight when Syrian army planes bombed a town in northern Syria that is controlled by Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
Death Eaters, a group monitoring the war said.

Syrian military helicopters dropped barrel bombs and warplanes launched air strikes on al-Bab which lies northeast of the city of Aleppo, the Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Sunday.

One of the 21 killed was a child and the death count was expected to rise as some of the maimed were in a serious condition, said the Observatory, which gathers information from a variety of sources in Syria.

Over 1,000 killed since ISIL launched Kobani attack
[Iran Press TV] More than 1,000 people have reportedly been killed in the Syrian Kurdish city of Kobani since ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
forces of Evil launched their offensive on the border city.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Sunday that at least 1,013 people have been killed in the fighting in the flashpoint city of Kobani, known as Ain al-Arab in Arabic, since the beginning of the offensive two months ago.

"At least 1,013 people have been killed in fighting in Ain al-Arab from the beginning of the offensive till last night," the group's director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

According to the UK-based group, ISIL forces of Evil accounted for 609 of those killed in the Kurdish city. More than 360 people who bit the dust in the battle over Kobani were said to be members of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG). The so-called monitoring group added that 16 volunteers who joined the Kurdish fighters and 24 civilians are also among the dead.

Syrian Kurdish forces backed by Iraqi Peshmerga fighters have been fighting to drive ISIL faceless myrmidons out of Kobani. The border town and its surroundings have been under attack since mid-September, with the ISIL forces of Evil capturing dozens of nearby Kurdish villages and killing hundreds of people.

According to reports, more than 200,000 Kobani residents have fled across the border into Turkey.

Lebanon army arrests Syria rebel commander
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Lebanese army on Sunday incarcerated
Book 'im, Mahmoud!
a Syrian rebel commander who was trying to enter Leb using fake documents, a security source told AFP on condition of anonymity.

"The army arrested a commander of the (rebel) Free Syrian Army

from the Qalamun area" near Leb, the source said.

"He was trying to enter Leb using a fake Lebanese ID. The vehicle he was travelling in was stopped at a checkpoint in the Wadi Hmeid area" near the Syrian border, he added.

Speaking to AFP on condition of anonymity, a military front man confirmed the arrest.

The official National News Agency identified the Syrian as Colonel Abdullah al-Rifai and said he is a top leader of the rebel military council in Qalamun, Syria.

Rebels in the Qalamun region have battled both the Syrian army and Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah, which has sent thousands of fighters into Syria to back Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad

's regime.

In August, jihadists streamed across the border from Syria and fought fierce battles with the Lebanese army in the frontier town of Arsal.

They are still holding 27 Lebanese police and soldiers they took hostage during the festivities, having executed three of them.

The August fighting erupted after the Lebanese army arrested and tossed in the slammer

a jihadist-linked Syrian fighter.

Leb is sharply divided over the war in neighboring Syria, and has regularly seen deadly battles linked to the conflict next door.

Most Sunnis support the revolt seeking Assad's ouster, while most Shiites back Damascus and its ally Hezbollah.

'Five Nuclear Engineers Murdered Near Damascus'
[Ynet] Syrian rights group says 'unidentified attackers murdered five nuclear energy engineers who worked in the scientific research.'

Unknown assailants killed five nuclear engineers Sunday while they were on a bus just north of Damascus, near the research center where they worked, a monitor said on Sunday.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which relies on a network of sources on the ground for its reports, was unable however to say how they were killed or supply their nationalities.

"Person or persons unknown murdered five nuclear energy engineers who worked in the scientific research centre near the neighbourhood of Barzeh, northern Damascus," said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.

"It was not immediately clear whether the bus that they were travelling on was hit by a bomb, or by gunfire," Abdel Rahman told AFP.

In July last year, six people who worked at the same center were killed in a mortar attack carried out by rebels seeking Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
's ouster.

Another military research center, also near Damascus, was also hit by a deadly Israeli raid in May 2013.

Syria report says Nusra Front responsible for murder of 5 nuclear engineers

Syrian sources told El Watan news agency, associated with the Assad regime, that the al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda branch in Syria, was responsible for the murder of five nuclear engineers in Damascus who were killed on Sunday.

According to the sources, the engineers worked in the nuclear and electrical engineering industry. The sources said the cell shot at a bus carrying the nuclear engineers to work at a scientific research center in the Barza neighborhood of Damascus.
