It has begun: Huff Po says Mia Love enjoys white privelege
Mia Love, the former mayor of Saratoga Spring, Utah, won her race for Utah's 4th congressional district Tuesday and will now be the first black Republican woman (and first Haitian-American) to sit in the United States Congress.

The heads of leftists have been exploding ever since Love's victory as they attempt to come to grips with how a black woman could champion bedrock conservative principles such as fiscal discipline, limited government and personal responsibility.

The most fascinating treatise about Love — thus far — comes via The Huffington Post where Darron Smith, a desperately confused blogger with a Ph.D. in education, accuses Love of benefitting from a form of "white privilege."

Smith, who is somehow on a first-name basis with Love as he writes, lauds Love as a super-duper minority member: black, a woman and a Mormon to boot. He can't understand, though, how Love doesn't agree with his own political ideology. Because she disagrees with him, he declares that the principles she espouses go against her interests — because of the color of her skin and the sexual organs she possesses.
Same argument as "what's the matter with Kansas?" Short answer: nothing except they value things differently than you do, and that's the real crime, isn't it...
"Love's political convictions show a strong support for values that do not necessarily represent her interests as a member in any of these oppressed groups," Smith writes.
Perhaps she doesn't see herself as oppressed...
"For example, blacks are not doing well with respect to education, economics and health outcomes, while women still trail behind in salary and significant positions of power, and conservative politics are not typically known to aid these groups in such key issues. These actualities of Mia's existence seem to be diametrically opposed to her values that are grounded in a white, male, Christian context."
I guess he's upset she didn't play the race card.
Smith then lays down his blogger coup de grâce:

"She appears publicly unhampered by the daily grind of white racism that affects other racial minorities within the United States," he proclaims.
Yup, she's unhampered alright. She just worked hard, shook hands, and won an election...
"Unlike most of them, Mia gets to walk through the hallowed doorways of white institutions controlled by elite, powerful men. She is allowed to pass through in her black, female body with the understanding that she must not see, speak or openly advocate for anything related to race or gender — an unholy compromise. Hence, she might look black, but her politics are red. This is one way white privilege is reproduced at the legislative level of government."
Perhaps she's not interested in openly advocating for race or gender, but instead advocating for her constituents and for the good of the country as a whole. Novel concept Professor but follow along...
"Mia and others like her are seemingly out of touch with the political realities of African Americans and what remains at stake for them," the blogger concludes, hastening to add that "[i]t would be a mistake to assume that all black people are monolithic and share the same political inclinations."
IOW: Doesn't fit the narrative. Would break his world view. Illogical, illogical . . . .
Smith also suggests that the Republican Party — but not the Democratic Party — exhibits a "pattern of using blacks to further white interests."
That's because it's the first thing that comes to his mind.
Once again, a progressive accuses others of what he does himself...
Love is the daughter of Haitian immigrants and a first-generation American. She was first elected to the Saratoga Spring city council in 2003.

She also made headlines in 2012 for her speech during the Republican National Convention.

While Love was the favorite going into Tuesday, she won by a slim margin of only a few thousand votes.

#1  The condescending, sexist arrogance is strong with this one.

Not only does he presume to be able to address Ms. Love by her first name but he presumes to tell her that she doesn't know what is in her own best interests.

Was there a term for the slaves that worked on the plantation and kept the other slaves in line cause that what this fellow wants to do. "HEY, NI##AH get back on that farm don't you get uppity."

#2  Congratulations, Mia, and by potential extension, Haitian-Americans! You've achieved "whiteness". You see, "whiteness" isn't equivalent to being Caucasian. Many ethnicities which aren't technically Caucasian - Orthodox Jews, Christian Lebanese, East Indians like Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal, the various East Asians who work disproportionately for Silicon Valley tech firms - have been designated "white". And sufficiently multi-culti Caucasians can achieve non-whiteness by finding their own tribal identity, and committing with a full heart.

Being "white" is synonymous for being bourgeois. It means you're threatening to become detribalized, you're straying from your designated plot on the victim-farm, runaway from your designated slot in the multi-ethnic plantation.

#3  The Left has long disgusted me. Now I feel a sort of... I dunno, almost *French* disgust. "Soyez gentil de nous laisser parler, et de cesser d'intervenir incessamment, un peu comme le roquet."

#4  Mitch nails it. Mia officially became a White Man when she joined the GOP. Congrats, Mia!

This is why the White Man gonna rule the world, dawg. Because we're inclusive, we're a big tent. Unlike other ethnic groups where people bash each other over who is authentic, anyone can become a White Man, no matter what your race, color, creed, parents, national origin, sex or sexual preferences. Female Mormon daughter of Haitian immigrants Mia Love - White Man. Governor Bobby Jindal - White Man. Colonel Alan West - White Man. George Zimmerman - White Man. All those Asian kids blowing out the SAT curve - White Men all. Anybody can do it. Come on in!

India-Pakistan
The old and the new
[DAWN] UP and down, good and bad, old and new, it's been another one of those weeks. So let's get right to it.

Blasphemy is bad news. Worse -- horribly so -- for those at the sharp end of it. But, for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth and beating of chests, the blasphemy issue isn't going anywhere.

Reason A is the one few like to talk about, and that some may only vaguely be aware of: the blasphemy issue is not a Taliban cause; it, in large part, flows from the bandidos snuffies among the so-called moderates, the otherwise warm and fuzzy and likeable Barelvis.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
The West isn't duty-bound to solve Arab problems
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] While it's true that Western powers can't claim to have clean hands in the Middle East, Arabs don't either. Most of the Arab leaderships have consistently shrugged off their responsibility to defend their own people. For decades, Arabs have looked to "Baba America" and its allies for protection, knowing full well that U.S. foreign policy is geared solely towards its own security and geopolitical interests.

During my latest visit to the U.S. to join President Jimmy Carter
... the worst president ever. Maybe the second worst. The votes aren't all in yet...
in announcing a new Israeli-Paleostinian peace initiative at Illinois College, I had the opportunity of meeting-up with old friends as well as several high-ranking officials and executives. I have a fondness for the American people. Many have been unfailingly kind to me. But U.S. policy is another matter entirely; it knows no friends, only interests. Former CIA Chief and Defence Secretary Leon Panetta
...current SecDef, previously Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Panetta served as President Bill Clinton's White House Chief of Staff from 1994 to 1997 and was a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1977 to 1993....
spelled that out clearly in his book "Worthy Fights." I don't object to that; it's beyond time that we took a leaf out of America's book.

For the sake of argument

Moreover, even if, for the sake of argument, the U.S. was committed to having our back, it's hardly result-oriented. As Ambassador Chas W. Freeman writes, "We [the U.S.] are trying to cope with the cumulative consequences of multiple failures. Just about every American project in the Middle East has now come a cropper." The ambassador rightly points out that U.S. "policies have nowhere produced democracy. They have instead contrived the destabilisation of societies, the kindling of religious warfare, and the installation of dictatorships contemptuous of the rights of religious and ethnic minorities."

The votes are pretty conclusively in at this point. Carter is second worst.

Terror Networks
Can ISIS maintain the 'Caliphate' without Baghdadi?
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] News reports that the United States-led coalition attacked successfully a 10-truck Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) convoy outside djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
injured top leaders of ISIS including, as reports suggest, its leader and self-appointed caliph, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, is significant. According to the reports, Baghdadi, was "critically maimed" in the American-led air strike that targeted the western Iraqi border town of al-Qaim.

The key question is how ISIS fighters will interpret the loss of the leadership and especially if al-Baghdadi is critically injured and ultimately dies. We must recall that al-Baghdadi was reportedly injured just months before.

We have a number of occasions where American airpower decapitated the leaderships of Islamist Death Eater terrorist groups.

The deaths of Al-Qaeda leader the late Osama bin Laden
... who is no longer with us, and won't be again...
and U.S.-born radical holy man Anwar al-Awlaki
... Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, zapped in Yemen, al-Awlaki was a dual citizen of the U.S. and Yemen. He was an Islamic holy man who was a trainer for al-Qaeda and its franchises. His sermons were attended by three of the 9/11 hijackers, by Fort Hood murderer Nidal Malik Hussein, and Undieboomer Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. He was the first U.S. citizen ever placed on a CIA target list...
immediately come to mind. Yet the results of the high-level killings, as well as other targeted strikes on key planners and operators, seem to be limited. While such strikes provide instant gratification, the problem still remains.

Attacks and battles between terrorist groups and their enemies continue. As noted by many observers, al-Qaeda and its affiliates are still alive and well despite the loss of key leaders. The same can be said for ISIS and their adherents.

Potential loss

The wounding and potential loss of Baghdadi may be of more significance for his followers. Baghdadi, as "Caliph Ibrahim," to maintain his religious foundation, needs to be of a whole body. If he loses a limb in his injuries, his credibility suffers. If he dies, the death would toss the entire concept of the legitimacy of the "Caliphate" on its head. ISIS discourse will likely need to be revised and new leaders will emerge. But clearly, from historical examples, succession in the historical caliphates was often a chaotic and vicious event.

#1  Could this paraphrase into:

If Baghdadi goes tango uniform, there will be a an epic and breathtaking inter-fraticidinal battle of the turbins?

#5  is significant. According to the reports, Baghdadi, was "critically maimed" in the American-led air strike that targeted the western Iraqi border town of al-Qaim.

As opposed to only lightly maimed?
