Salafist preacher Borhamy questioned over Christianity insult
[Al Ahram] Salafist preacher and godfather of the Nour party Yasser Borhamy has been summoned by the prosecution over accusations he insulted Christianity.

According to Al-Ahram Arabic news website, the complaint was filed by lawyer Naguib Gibrael. He accused Borhamy of insulting Christianity for describing Easter as "one of the most infidel Christian holidays" on a satellite television show.

Borhamy also said those who believe Jesus was crucified are blasphemers and misguided.

This is not the first time that Borhamy has made such remarks.

In 2011 he said that "that Jews and Christians are infidels, but they do have rights that Allah has given them."

He also stirred controversy in 2012 when he reportedly issued a religious edict saying that a Moslem taxi or microbus driver should not pick up a priest if the latter was on his way to church.

UN condemns fresh round of clashes in Libyan capital
[ARABNEWS] The United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
condemned a new round of fighting between rival militias around Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
international airport, saying the festivities were undermining Libya's political process.

Since mid-July, Libya has been rocked by fierce and deadly fighting between militias that has prompted an exodus of foreign nationals from the oil-rich North African country.

The skirmishes have centerd around Tripoli, where nationalists snuffies are battling pro-Islamist groups, and in second city Benghazi where a renegade army general is fighting Islamists.

The new festivities in Tripoli raged on Friday and Saturday, forcing hundreds of people to flee, residents said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The confrontation between nationalist snuffies from Zintan and pro-Islamists from Misrata focused on a bridge leading to the capital's airport, which is controlled by the Zintan forces, residents added.

Grad missiles and artillery were used in two days of battle which subsided Sunday after an unconfirmed claim by the Misrata fighters that they had seized the bridge and an army barracks.

State news agency Lana said that around 1,000 families had fled the Tripoli fighting and were taken in by local officials in the town of Tarhuna, south of the capital.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) condemned the festivities and once again urged both parties to lay down their arms and observe a cease-fire."

It said the two days of violence had "inflicted casualties among civilians, forced them out of their homes and caused damage to property."

Nigeria committing 'war crimes' to defeat Boko Haram
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] The Nigerian government is terrorising part of its population and committing possible war crimes in its battle against Boko Haram

, according to a documentary to be broadcast on Monday night.

Human rights Sherlocks believe 4,000 people have died in military custody since Boko Haram began its attacks in Nigeria two years ago. The group kidnapped more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls earlier this year and it has continued its campaign of kidnapping and bombing.

Nigeria is now Africa's biggest economy. But in the north, home to most of the nation's 80 million Moslems, people are among the poorest in the country.

The north is the heartland of the Islamist group, Boko Haram. This year alone, Boko Haram have killed more than 2,000 people, most of them civilians.

They portray themselves as warriors of the jihad against the West. Their name means "Western influence is a sin" and the group was originally formed to fight what they said was endemic corruption brought to Nigeria by the West.

In response to Boko Haram's campaign, the Nigerian armed forces have launched a counter-terrorism offensive to try to stem the violence.

Two years ago a state of emergency was declared in the three northern states, a joint military taskforce created, thousands of troops sent to the area and, in August, a new division created to destroy Boko Haram.

The army took control of local militias, young Moslem men who had gathered together to help identify Boko Haram members living in their communities. Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan

#1  The Nigerians are going to have to go full Sri Lankan Army on Boko Haram.

Sri Lanka's Army pretty well went all in to snuff out the Tamil Tigers and that is what it will take, it will be very messy, it will not be pretty to watch and all of the human rights groups will be aghast at the carnage but that is what it will take to end this.

APC slams DSS for linking party with Boko Haram
[DAILYPOST.NG] The All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned what it called the thinly-veiled attempt by the Directorate of Security Service (DSS) to link the party with the holy warrior group Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
, without providing a shred of evidence to that effect, and called on the agency's spokesperson Marilyn Ogar to resign or be fired.

In a statement issued in Ilorin on Saturday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party also said it has decided to sue Ogar for attempting to blame the APC for the series of kabooms in the country, to give her the opportunity to present whatever evidence she may have of the APC 's complicity in a court of law.

It said the DSS threw caution to the wind and exhibited its crass partisanship when the agency's spokesperson, Ogar, said on national television that anytime the APC wins an election, there is no kaboom, but that whenever other parties win, there is always a kaboom.

"That this incredulous accusation could be made by the spokesperson of a security agency, without providing a scintilla of evidence to support such claim, has confirmed our fears that the nation's security agencies have now constituted themselves into the enforcement arm of the PDP.

"For the DSS Spokesperson to echo the same capricious statement that has been made in the past by the front man of the PDP shows that the agency has dropped its toga of non-partisanship and has descended into the political fray. If the DSS has any professional ethics, if DSS is not an arm of the PDP, then the agency must publicly dissociate itself from the irresponsible and unfounded allegation by Ogar and disengage her from the service.

and Kuwait agreed to comply with a UN resolution aimed at stopping financing for Islamic State (IS) bully boy groups in Syria and Iraq after four of their nationals were named among a group blacklisted by the international body.

Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the UN, Abdullah Al-Muallami, said Riyadh was "committed to implementation" of the resolution.

The UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution on Friday intended to weaken the Islamic State.

Gulf media said that two of the blacklisted men were Saudis wanted by Riyadh for links to IS bully boys, while two others were Kuwaitis, including Sheikh Hajaj bin Fahd Al Ajmi, accused of links to Syria's Al Qaeda branch, the Nusra Front.

Asharq Al-Awsat said the two Saudi nationals, Abdul Mohsen Abdallah Ibrahim Al-Charekh and Abdelrahman Mouhamad Zafir Al-Jahani, were on two lists of wanted forces of Evil issued in 2009 and in 2011.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which monitors casualties in fighting in Syria, has said that Charekh was killed near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia in March. Jahani was believed to be on the lam somewhere outside Saudi Arabia.

Bangladesh
Quamrul: Militancy originated at Hawa Bhaban
[Dhaka Tribune] Food Minister Quamrul Islam yesterday said militancy in Bangladesh was originated at notorious Hawa Bhaban with aim to turn the country a communal state.

"Defeated forces of '71, killers of '75, BNP, Jamaat and Lions of Islam are not different anymore, rather they are joint force now," he said.

The minister came up with the observation while addressing a human chain formed in front of the National Press Club marking the 9th anniversary of series bombing carried out by Jammat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
Deputy mufti gunned down in North Ossetia
The deputy mufti of the Russian republic of North Ossetia was gunned down Saturday in the latest in a series of assassinations of Muslim leaders in the North Caucasus this year.

Rasul Gamzatov, who served as the imam of a mosque in the regional capital Vladikavkaz, was shot at least seven times in the head and chest at the entrance of an apartment building in the city shortly before midnight, the Investigative Committee said on Sunday.

Gamzatov's predecessor as deputy mufti of North Ossetia, Ibragim Dudarov, was also gunned down on the outskirts of Vladikavkaz in December 2012. That case remains unresolved.

The mufti of North Ossetia, Khadzhimurat Gatsalov, said that the murders of his two deputies were most likely connected. He said, "Why is the murder of the first imam not being investigated? Who benefits from killing devout Muslims? This was done by people who want to spread discord in our republic. We have no militants [here] and they do not come here from other places."

North Ossetia's president, Taimuraz Mamsurov, said he thought Gamzatov's slaying could have religious motives. He said, "We will only be able to establish the motives for the crime when the criminals are apprehended and testify. This is either an attempt to destabilize the republic or to create artificial strife between our traditional religions — Islam and Christianity — which have coexisted in peace and harmony in the North Caucasus for centuries."

Gamzatov's murder was the fourth killing of a religious figure in the North Caucasus this year, bringing the total number of such killings since 2009 to 39. Many of those murders have been tied to their views on Islam, which extremists deem too moderate.

Australia to Take 4,400 Refugees from Syria, Iraq
[AnNahar] Australia will offer to resettle some 4,400 people fleeing violence in Iraq and Syria, Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said Sunday, adding the places had been freed up by success in stopping asylum-seeker boats.

Boat arrivals have all but dried up since Australia said it would refuse resettlement to any refugees arriving on unauthorized vessels, sending them instead to Papua New Guinea and Nauru in the Pacific.

"The government's policies under Operation Sovereign Borders have not only saved lives at sea, but also allowed more places to be returned to our humanitarian program for the world's most desperate and vulnerable people," he said.

The minister said a minimum of 2,200 places would be for Iraqis, including ethnic and religious minorities fleeing the violence in the north of the country.

"The government has also committed a minimum of 2,200 places for Syrians, including those now living in desperate conditions in countries such as Leb," he added.

Australia accepts 13,750 people into its humanitarian refugee program each year, and Morrison said the government would ensure that 11,000 of these places would be for people overseas in need of resettlement.

"This government has made it very clear that priority in the humanitarian program should be for those waiting overseas and entering Australia under an orderly process," he said.

Last year, Australia took more than 1,000 people from Syria, more than 2,000 from Iraq, 2,754 from Afghanistan and just over 1,800 from Myanmar.

Morrison said while the situation was improving in Myanmar, Australia would continue to support the resettlement of its refugees, "in particular those from the many Christian ethnic minorities currently living in Malaysia and Thailand, such as the Karen and Chin".

The Refugee Action Coalition criticized the government's announcement, saying the conservative administration had cut the overall refugee intake from 20,000 to 13,750 after taking office in September 2013.

"The number of refugees the coalition (government) says they will take from Iraq is paltry and hides the fact that the government has cut the refugee intake," said front man Ian Rintoul. "It is phoney generosity."

He said the announcement did nothing for the more than 100 Iraqi asylum-seekers in Papua New Guinea and Nauru.

ISIL tweet for US could be Mossad, FBI creation: Paul Street
[Iran Press TV] The threatening tweet by the ISIL murderous Moslem group for the United States could be a creation by Israel's spy agency of Mossad or the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, an American political commentator says.

"I don't know if it's authentic and I don't think we have any way of knowing if it's authentic," Paul Street said in an interview with Press TV on Sunday.

"It conceivably could be a hoax, it could be a prank. It could conceivably be for real. It could conceivably be something put up by Mossad, the Israel's security force, or by the FBI, or by the Department of Homeland Security, which is inconsistent with the interests of the national security state here in the country and storing out of fear. They love these types of stories because they justify increased surveillance, increased homeland repression, increased investment in the control of the population here," he added.

"If it's the latter, that's really terrible. On the other hand, if it's for real, why would there be any mystery about why it's for real?" the analyst continued.

"US policy is involved in the direct and indirect murder of, over the last few decades, just hundreds of thousands of Moslems and ordinary people in the Middle East and it's incredibly reckless to pursue those policies overseas in energy rich Middle East," Street explained.

"It's incredibly reckless in many ways, including the risks that kind of foreign policy creates for ordinary Americans in the US. Of course, people are going to strike back," he said.

The Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
group posted a photo of its flag purportedly pictured outside the White House, warning the US administration of their presence in American cities.

The photo shows a hand holding up an image of the ISIL flag displayed on a phone in front of the White House fence in Pennsylvania Avenue. It was first tweeted on August 9 by an account which was later deleted.

"[W]e are here #America near our #target :) sooooooooooooon," read the message posted with the photo.

The photo was re-tweeted by another user under the name of @Sunna_rev with a separate warning that "We are in your state. We are in your cities. We are in your streets. You are our goals anywhere."

Al-Qaeda: US Must Act Or Captive Warren Weinstein Will Die
[IsraelTimes] Al-Qaeda called on the family of captive US government contractor Warren Weinstein to pressure the US government to negotiate his release or risk his "dying a lonely death."

"If you want Warren Weinstein to be released, do whatever you can to pressurize your government," the terror group said in a statement posted on Islamist websites, the French news agency AFP reported.

"Your continued silence on the inaction of your government will only lead to your prisoner dying a lonely death in prison after this deliberate and prolonged neglect on the part of your government."

Weinstein, 73, of Rockville, Md., was kidnapped in August 2011 outside Pakistain while he was working for J.E. Austin Associates, a private company that advises Pak businesses. The United States has said it will not negotiate with al-Qaeda, which the US considers a terrorist organization.

Al-Qaeda is demanding the release of several Islamists held in jail in the US, including Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind sheik who is serving a life sentence for his part in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

In January, a video message featuring Weinstein, a former Peace Corps and USAID official, was sent to journalists and news services in Pakistain along with a link to a photo of a handwritten note.

Day 4: Imran launches 'don't pay taxes' movement
[DAWN] Undeterred by inclement weather and low turnouts, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) continue protests in Islamabad for a fourth day running.

Both PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT Chief Tahirul Qadri have so far stood firm on the one demand that remains off the negotiating table with the PML-N led government - that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif step down to make way for a new government, a new system.

PML-N meeting rejects Imran Khan's demands
[DAWN] A high-level meeting summoned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

ended at the Prime Minister House, during which Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the brightest knife in the national drawer...
's demands were rejected and termed as 'illegal' and 'unconstitutional.'

The meeting was attended by key federal ministers and leaders of the Pakistain Moslem League - Nawaz (PML-N) and discussed the country's prevailing situation in context of sit-ins called by the Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) and Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT).

After the meeting a spokesperson of the Prime Minister House said that "Imran Khan through his demands, which were unconstititional, wanted confrontation with the government."

The spokesperson severely criticised the 'civil disobedience movement' launched by the PTI chief and termed it as being against the state of Pakistain.

Credible sources told Dawn that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had instructed Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan
...Currently the Interior Minister of Pakistain. He is the senior leader of the Pak Moslem League (N) and a close aide to Nawaz Uncle Fester Sharif. He is noted for his vocal anti-American railing in the National Assembly. However (comma) Khan told the U.S. ambassador that he was in fact pro-American but he and the PML-N would have to be critical of US actions in order to remain publicly credible. He wears a wig, but you probably guessed that. since hair doesn't grow naturally in that shape or texture...
to beef up security of key government installations situated in and around Constititional avenue in the federal capital city, which is now known as Red Zone area.

The federal interior minister was also advised that security of government installations should be ensured at all costs and those violating the law should be dealt with iron hands.

Pak opposition gives Sharif 48 hours to quit
[ARABNEWS] Tens of thousands joined protests in Pakistain's capital on Sunday led by opposition figures Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
and holy man Tahir ul-Qadri, demanding the "corrupt" prime minister step down.

"Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
should resign as soon as possible. We will keep pushing forward, even into his bedroom," said Ali Gandapur, revenue minister in the province Khan's party controls, surrounded by rifle-carrying bodyguards.
Wonder if they're gonna bring Perv back...
Khan called upon protesters to practice civil disobedience to press their demand for Sharif to step down over alleged voting fraud. Khan is calling on people to stop paying bills and taxes to the government and says his supporters will take over Parliament if Sharif does not resign within two days.

The protests have raised worries about Pakistain's stability barely a year after Sharif took power in a landslide election win that marked the first democratic transfer of power in the history of the nuclear-armed nation of 180 million people.

Sharif has been struggling to overcome daily power cuts, a sluggish economy and a Taliban insurgency. Anti-Western bad boy groups have been growing in strength, worrying Pakistain's allies.

Khan, a former international cricket star whose speech is still peppered with metaphors of the game, told supporters in a late-night Saturday speech: "maybe the world cup final will be played tomorrow ... people will forget Tahrir Square."

The reference to the square, site of Egypt's most violent anti-government protests, followed a warning by Khan earlier on Saturday. He said his supporters wanted to march on parliament via the "Red Zone," an enclave home to most Western embassies, and he was struggling to hold them back.

Many of the young men gathering at Khan's protest said they were eager to push against heavily fortified lines of riot police to reach parliament or the prime minister's house if Khan commanded.

"I told my parents, if I am martyred, pray for me," said student Muhammed Qasim, 21, his goatee painted in the red and green colors of Khan's party.

Riot police wearing body armor and carrying tear gas stacked shipping containers on top of each other and covered them with oil to prevent people climbing them behind the stage where Khan was due to speak.

has called on his supporters to launch a civil disobedience campaign in order to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
out of office.

He made the remarks in a speech to a gathering of thousands of anti-government protesters in the capital Islamabad on Sunday.

"There is only one way to get rid of this government, which is to launch a civil disobedience campaign from today," the opposition leader said, asking the crowd not to pay taxes or utility bills.
The cricketer-turned-politician said he would give Sharif until Tuesday to either resign or face a massive workers' march on his house.

His announcement came as thousands of opposition demonstrators crowded the streets of the capital for a second day.

He accuses the government of rigging last year's election. The Pak premier announced on Tuesday that the Supreme Court of Pakistain would carry out an investigation into allegations of vote rigging in the general elections.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called a hurried meeting of his closest advisors. It was to be his last. They discussed the officers's efficiency rating system...
during a separate demonstration on Sunday, Pak holy man Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri called for a "revolution" to sweep away the government.

On Saturday, Qadri also issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the prime minister to step down and dissolve the assemblies.

On June 17, at least 10 supporters of Qadri's Pakistain Awami Tehrik (PAT) movement were killed during skirmishes with Pak security forces in Lahore. A judicial commission has been established to investigate the incident.

UN Releases Gaza Crisis Atlas Documenting Damage To Strip
[Ynet] 108-page report with high-resolution satellite photos captures extent of destruction in Gazoo, to be used by UN committee on Operation Protective Edge.

The United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
released the Gazoo Crisis Atlas on Sunday, showing the physical damage wrought on the Strip during IDF Operation Protective Edge using satellite imagery. The 108-page document will be used by a UN investigatory committee on the conflict.
Sample photos with the original article, much more in the UN's 108 page PDF.
The Atlas overlays a grid over Gazoo, dividing it into smaller parcels — with each one receiving a detailed page noting the locations of schools, mosques, and public buildings on high-resolution satellite footage.

The UN's Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, which released the document, explained that the damage assessment was based on analysis of satellite photos starting on August 1 and the previous month.

The images were provided by UNOSAT, an organization created in cooperation with the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN).

A statement released along with the Atlas said it was a central tool to help humanitarian organizations — or anyone working in Gazoo — as well any person who wanted to better understand the consequences of the recent conflict.

The satellite photos clearly show the massive destruction to neighborhoods like Shuja'iyeh, one of the focal points of conflict during the fighting.

#1  The small red dots represent locations that were damaged

Or said another way, the small red dots represent locations where Hamas was firing rockets and mortars, or engaged in ground ops against the IDF who were hunting them.

Arab Rock-Throwers Ambush Visiting NYC Congress Hopeful Di Iorio
[ISRAELNATIONALNEWS] Nick Di Iorio, 28, Republican candidate for the 12th Congressional District in New York, experienced personally the precarious security situation in Israel on his visit to the Holy Land last week.

A car driving Di Iorio from a visit to Sderot toward Jerusalem came under attack by a group of Arab boys "who hurled rocks at us and laughed," Di Iorio recalled.

Also in the car with Di Iorio was New York based philanthropist Ken Abramowitz, Chairman of American Friends of Likud, who accompanied him on his visit to Israel. No one was hurt in the attack, which took place not far from Susya, near Hevron.

The candidiate revealed that in his visit to southern Israel, two IDF colonels told him that Israel "needs to wait until Obama is out of office before it can take any proactive action against Iran."
Di Iorio has been endorsed by the Republican, Conservative and Independent parties. This race is the first time, he claims, that a Republican running for Congress in New York has been endorsed by four parties.
I only count three, but possibly the journalist missed something...
Di Iorio is considered a long shot candidate in the race, which pits him against Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Astoria), who has been in office since 1992.

Following the 2010 census, the district was enlarged to include more Republican areas, and Di Iorio says that along with the endorsements from the other parties, this means that "we walk into election day with 90,000 party affiliated voters supporting us." There are about 400,000 registered voters in total in the district — half of them Democrats, but a relatively low turnout November 4 could work in Di Iorio's favor.

Di Iorio told Arutz Sheva that he is focusing on three issues: corruption in Washington, job creation and defending Israel. As a moderate Democrat, he explained, Maloney is "in lockstep with the president who demanded that Israel agree to an immediate ceasfire" in Gazoo. She "doesn't realize that America's survival depends on Israel — which is the western world's eastern frontier — as much as Israel depends on the US."

The candidiate revealed that in his visit to southern Israel, two IDF colonels told him that Israel "needs to wait until Obama is out of office before it can take any proactive action against Iran."

I recently talked with a woman from Israel who has lived there all her life. I asked her what Israelis thought of Obama. She said that Israelis don't like him and she added "I hate him." I've never known her to be particularly conservative in her politics. We in the U.S. will have more "flexibility" after he is gone too--unless those who get stuff outnumber those who pay for stuff and vote in another leftist such as Hildebeast or the fake Indian.

Hundreds Of Fatah Members Under Hamas House Arrest In Gaza
[IsraelTimes] Moments after the call for evening prayer on July 28, the first day of the Islamic festival of Eid al-Fitr, Fatah activist Sami Abu Lashin heard a knock on the door of his Gazoo home.

Lashin, known as Abu Hassan, opened the door to discover some 20 masked men armed with rifles. When he asked the men what they wanted, one gunman stepped out of the group and promptly fired a shot at Lashin's right thigh, and then two more at his left thigh, shattering the bone.

"It was a very powerful and painful scene for his little children who witnessed this heinous crime," wrote Sami Fouda of Gazoo, who reported the story on the Fatah-affiliated website Fateh Voice on Saturday. "They claimed he had broken the house arrest imposed on him."

On Sunday, a photo of Lashin reading the Koran in his bed at Shifa hospital — under a Fatah flag, surrounded by large bouquets of flowers — was posted on Fatah's official Facebook page. "A free voice in steadfast Gazoo," read the caption, which accused Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, of the shooting. "Shame on the criminals who shed Paleostinian blood."

While Paleostinian negotiators in Cairo strained to present a unified front in ceasefire talks with Egypt and Israel Sunday, Fatah continues to showcase stories of intimidation and physical assault against its members in Hamas-controlled Gazoo.

One Fatah official, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
for fear of reprisal against his party members in Gazoo, told The Times of Israel on Sunday that as many as 250 Fatah members in the Strip have been told by Hamas to stay home throughout Operation Protective Edge, and as many as 125 were shot at by Hamas operatives when they refused to comply. Ten victims of gunshots to the legs have been transferred to hospitals in Ramallah and Nablus in the West Bank, he added.

"They [Hamas] don't want Fatah's voice to appear in Gazoo," the official said. "They may be afraid of a Fatah revolution."

Having won the 2006 national elections by a large majority, Hamas violently took control of the Gazoo Strip in the summer of 2007, banishing and killing Fatah members in the city. According to the International Red Thingy, at least 118 Fatah members were killed and some 550 maimed during the second week of June 2007, some thrown off the rooftops of high-rise buildings. In January 2014, as part of his movement's reconciliation efforts with Fatah, Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh
...became Prime Minister after the legislative elections of 2006 which Hamas won. President Mahmoud Abbas dismissed Haniyeh from office on 14 June 2007 at the height of the Fatah-Hamas festivities, but Haniyeh did not acknowledge the decree and continues as the PM of Gazoo while Abbas maintains a separate PM in the West Bank...
declared that Fatah members could return to Gazoo.

On July 27, when the Israeli land operation in Gazoo was already well underway, Fatah issued a statement condemning Hamas for placing "many Fatah members in various areas under house arrest." Hamas had told Fatah that the order was carried out by individuals and would be reversed, but "as of now it is only increasing," Fatah's statement complained. On August 4, Fatah issued a second communique claiming the harassment was continuing unabated. It had even reached "the point of opening fire at Fatah members, causing serious injury and the tearing of bones and leg tissue."

The Fatah official who spoke to the Times of Israel said that any Fatah member in Gazoo wishing to change his address was required to notify Hamas authorities first.

"Any [Fatah member] leaving his home would have his legs shot at," he said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the cheese factory, all the pieces finally fell together in Fluffy's mind...
a bigwig in Hamas's Internal Security Agency visited Abu Lashin at the hospital and condemned the attack, promising to bring the perpetrators to justice. But Fouda, who recounted Abu Lashin's story, was not satisfied with Hamas's explanations.

"I wonder who could be crazy enough to so blatantly defy the [Hamas] rulers of Gazoo with such a high number of armed masked men; perpetrating such a heinous crime so calmly during the state of war and destruction experienced by the people of Gazoo."

Gaza Negotiators Not Budging Ahead of Midnight Deadline
[BLOOMBERG] Israeli and Paleostinian negotiators showed little movement from long-held positions ahead of a midnight deadline to extend talks that have kept the Gazoo Strip free from military conflict for a week.

Egyptian officials are brokering a final day of talks in the five-day cease-fire agreed upon last week by Israel and Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, the hard boy Islamist group that controls Gazoo. That truce extended an earlier 72-hour cease-fire.

"Only if there is a clear response to our security needs will we agree to reach understandings," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said yesterday at a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem. "If Hamas thinks that it can cover up its military loss with a diplomatic achievement, it is mistaken," the Israeli leader said in an e-mailed statement.

The break in fighting has offered a pause from a monthlong conflict that killed more than 2,000 Paleostinians, including hundreds of civilians, and 67 people on the Israeli side, all but three of them soldiers. It was designed to provide time to work out a more enduring accord resolving disputes that have fueled three major conflicts since 2008.

Iran missile capability not negotiable at all: Rouhani
[Iran Press TV] The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has ruled out any negotiations whatsoever over the Islamic Theocratic Republic's defensive missile capabilities.

"Iran's missile capability is by no means and at no level negotiable," Rouhani said in a meeting with ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Chief Yukia Amano in Tehran on Sunday.

Some Western officials, particularly in the US, have called for Iran's missile program to be included in the country's nuclear talks with the P5+1 — Russia, China, La Belle France, Britannia, the US and Germany.

"Tehran is serious in its negotiations with the P5+1 countries and the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency and wants nothing more than its right including [uranium] enrichment for peaceful purposes," Rouhani added.

Two Security Forces Members Abducted in Arsal Released by Islamists
[AnNahar] Two security forces members kidnapped in the northeastern border town of Arsal by Islamist gunnies have been released, the Lebanese army said Sunday.

The Moslem Scholars Committee delegation, tasked with negotiating their release, and Sheikh Mustapha al-Hujairi, an official from Arsal, received the members, media reports said.

But the army said in a communique that they were handed to the military intelligence, which referred them to the head of the ISF station in Arsal.

The army identified them as Madyan Hassan and Kamal al-Masalmani.

LBCI television later said that they were released after the al-Nusra Front gunnies received assurances from Lebanese authorities that the "security grip on Arsal Syrian refugee camps will be eased."

A number of troops and security forces members were kidnapped by Islamist gunnies when they withdrew from Arsal after being engaged in festivities with the army.

The festivities broke out on August 2 between the army and the holy warriors in light of the arrest of prominent al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front member Imad Jomaa.

A number of soldiers were killed and maimed in the unrest that ended in a ceasefire on August 7.

Earlier on Sunday, Moslem Scholars Committee member Sheikh Adnan Imama told Voice of Leb radio (100.5) that "important progress" was achieved in the negotiations with the gunnies over the release of their captives

He told the radio: "We have achieved very important progress over the past three days."

In addition, he said that the Committee is negotiating with an gang from the al-Nusra Front and a group from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant
... the current version of al-Qaeda in Iraq, just as blood-thirsty and well-beloved as the original...
Imama revealed that the Committee managed to obtain the names of captives held by one gang.

Pictures and video recordings of the abductees have been handed to the government, he added.

"We will obtain on Monday a list of the detainees held by the second gang," Imama stated.

He reassured that the soldiers and security forces were doing well, revealing: "The numbers spoken of by the Army Command are much greater than the actual number of the detainees held by the groups."

Moreover, he said that the gunnies are seeking to release the detainees in exchange for others held by the Lebanese authorities, but their identities have not been disclosed yet.

The negotiations are usually conducted through a mediator and "we have only met with the gangs when they were in Arsal," he told VDL (100.5).

Media reports have said that the holy warriors are seeking to release them in exchange of fellow Islamists imprisoned in Roumieh jail.

On Thursday, Jomaa and 42 Syrians were charged with belonging to armed terrorist groups, carrying out terrorist attacks, seizing control of Lebanese territories in order to set up their own emirate, killing soldiers and civilians, sabotaging military vehicles, and damaging public and private property.

They may face the death penalty if convicted.

Meanwhile,
...back at the mall, Clarissa spent the day shopping for new underwear. Tonight was going to be a special occasion...
Ad Diyar daily reported on Sunday that the gunnies have warned the Lebanese authorities against stalling in the negotiations, warning that the delay will "negatively affect the talks."

They vowed that they will "release a shocking video if their demand for the release of a number of detainees, starting with Jomaa, is not met."
