[HOTAIR] Back on June 10th in Portsmouth, Virginia, a large group of protesters decided to tear down and destroy a Confederate monument located in that city. An investigation was launched, led by Portsmouth Police Chief Angela Greene. After collecting video from the event and conducting interviews for two months, Greene announced in August that charges were being filed against 19 people who had been involved in the destruction. Police were seeking 13 more people who had yet to be identified. In the process, one of the protesters was severely injured when the statue was pulled down on top of them by his accomplices. That was also being investigated separately.
You might think that would be pretty much the end of the story, but it wasn’t. Among those arrested was State Sen. Louise Lucas, several leaders of the local Black Lives Matter movement, officials from the NAACP, and a member of the local school board. Since several crimes had obviously been committed, you might think that Chief Greene (who is Black, by the way) would be lauded for holding all citizens, regardless of their status accountable. You would be wrong, however. Howls of protest emerged not only from the community but from elected officials. Yesterday the situation came to a head and Chief Greene was unceremoniously fired. (NBC News)
The police chief of Portsmouth, Virginia, was fired Monday in what she suggested was a politically motivated move moments before criminal charges were dropped against a prominent state senator and several local Black leaders accused of conspiring to damage a Confederate statue during a protest this year.
The latest twist in the case involving state Sen. Louise Lucas, a high-ranking Democrat who is Virginia’s most senior Black legislator, drew praise from Democrats who condemned the charges…
The Portsmouth Police Department did not immediately return a request for comment, and a city spokeswoman declined to say whether Greene’s firing was a result of the initial charges.
Greene had charged all of the people involved with felony injury to a monument in excess of $1,000 and conspiracy. She had the perpetrators on video using cans of spray paint and eventually toppling and destroying the statue. She had the social media records showing the state senator encouraging everyone to come down to the location and help them destroy the statue. There was even a video of the state senator telling coppers what they intended to do and saying that the police couldn’t arrest them for it.In other words, Greene had the perpetrators dead to rights and it should have been an open and shut case. But she was attacked incessantly by Democratic leadership instead. After she was fired for this, those same Democratic leaders, including former Governor Terry McAuliffe celebrated her firing, describing her efforts to enforce the law as "despicable political persecution."

Even with the inevitable wrongful termination settlement, that must be incredibly disheartening. Imagine being fired for actually daring to apply the law to the local political class. It would be crushing to realize what a joke most people saw your job as.
Actions like this only make defunding the police more popular, by the way. After all, if the police are useless against rioters, then why bother having them? Why not just have slightly more violent "neighborhood watch" groups that may or may not care about the law? It's a slippery slope that will just continue to degrade respect for law enforcement.
#7
Keep it up Democrats and before long, there won't be any arrests, just corpses found. I'm NOT advocating anything, just making a prediction. People see stuff like that and they decide that if there won't be justice, justice has to be made.

Normal people will start to leave cities run by these savages.
Eventually America will sort itself completely into two nations, the hellhole cities where the extremes of wealth and poverty are ruled by corrupt left-wing commissar-clowns, and the rest of us.
No way that we two can be governed under the same laws and democratic institutions. We need to find a way to excise these tumor-towns from the body politic

And UTube's new TOS (as of 11/18/20) now states "Facial recognition restrictions: The Terms of Service already state that you cannot collect any information that might identify a person without their permission. While this has always included facial recognition information, the new Terms make that explicitly clear."

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A prominent Black Lives Matter leader in Milwaukee, Wisc. has been arrested on suspicion of rape following a sex crime investigation.
Frank David Sensabaugh, a 39-year-old rapper who goes by "Frank Nitty," was arrested by Milwaukee police on suspicion of felony third-degree sexual assault on Monday night. He filmed the arrest on Facebook live.
Sensabaugh rose to prominence as a BLM activist following the death of George Floyd. He organized and led numerous protests in Milwaukee, Kenosha and other cities.
During his arrest, his son takes over the recording. As Sensabaugh is placed in the police car, a scuffle off-camera occurred between his friend and a police officer.
"I don't have any cash on me, so I would appreciate if someone would put some on my books," he told his supporters before signing off.
Sensabaugh has a criminal history that includes drug manufacturing charges and driving with a revoked license. According to Wisconsin public records, he owes over $92,000 in back child support. In August he was arrested for disorderly conduct after leading a group to block traffic on a highway in Indiana.
On Aug. 24, he was part of a BLM protest that marched on private property in rural Michigan. The incident resulted in an exchange of crossfire. One protester was injured.
"White supremacists ... if you point your guns at us, you will die," Sensabaugh said in a livestream video at the time.
He is currently being held at the Milwaukee County Jail and his bail is set at $50,000.

[AnNahar] Israeli warplanes were on Wednesday staging intensive mock raids over south Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. "Since 2:20 pm, Israeli warplanes have been carrying out intensive mock raids at medium altitude over the Nabatiyeh and Iqlim al-Tuffah regions," the state-run NNA said.
The Israeli jets also staged similar mock raids over Sidon, East Sidon, Marjeyoun and Jezzine, the agency added.

[AnNahar] Israeli warplanes struck Syria Wednesday, hitting Iranian targets and killing 10 Syrian and imported muscle in what the Israeli army called a retaliatory attack after bombs were found near one of its bases on the occupied Golan Heights.
The air strikes came hours before U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was to land in Israel for talks including on Iran, in what was likely to be his last visit to the staunch American ally before President Donald Trump ...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election... leaves office.
An Israeli army statement said its fighter jets had overnight hit "military targets belonging to the Iranian Quds Force and the Syrian armed forces." The elite Quds Force is the main foreign operations arm of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.
The targets included "storage facilities, headquarters and military compounds" as well as "Syrian surface-to-air missile batteries," it said.
Syrian state news agency SANA said the strikes had killed three of its soldiers and maimed another.
The monitoring group Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 10 people were killed, including imported muscle as well as Syrian soldiers.
The foreigners included five fighters who were "likely Iranian and belonging to the Quds force" as well as two pro-Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. - RETALIATORY STRIKES -
Israel rarely acknowledges individual strikes, but has done so when responding to what it describes as aggression inside Israeli territory.
Israel's military said it had discovered improvised bombs (IEDs) on its side of the armistice line on the Golan Heights on Tuesday.
"We are talking about three connected Claymore anti-personnel charges that were planted close to an IDF position," army front man Jonathan Conricus told news hounds Wednesday.
"This was another attempt led by Iranian Quds forces. The actual planting of the IEDs was by Syrian locals but the guidance, instruction and control was by Iranian Quds forces," he said.
Most Arab residents of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights retain Syrian citizenship, having spurned the offer of Israeli papers.
Conricus said Israel had carried out retaliatory strikes against eight separate targets inside Syria, from the armistice line on the Golan all the way to the southern outskirts of the capital Damascus.
He said they included three Iranian command centers -- a headquarters in the Damascus airport, a Quds Force base in the headquarters of Syria's seventh army division and a "secret military site which served as a hosting facility for senior Iranian delegations."
"We hope now that the message is clear -- that it is unacceptable that the Syrian regime allows and tolerates and facilitates the use by Iranian forces of Syria as a launchpad for attacks against Israel."
Israel and Syria, still technically at war, have a border along the Golan Heights, which Israel has occupied since the Six-Day War of 1967.
I seem to recall that Israel formally annexed their part of the Golan, with President Trump’s approval...
o- POMPEO VISIT -

Joe's wife and daughter weren't killed by a drunk driver. Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who called Trump his country's strongest-ever ally in the White House, has heaped praised on the administration for its hardline approach towards Iran. Trump's so-called "maximum pressure" campaign against the Islamic Theocratic Republic has included sanctions and scrapping of the nuclear deal agreed between Tehran and world powers during Barack Obama I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody... ...AFP has fallen behind — the current phrasing is predicted president-elect...
Obama's former vice president, will seek to re-engage Iran diplomatically, possibly by restoring the 2015 nuclear deal Trump pulled the U.S. out of.
Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdellatif al-Zayani was also in Israel for the first visit by a bigwig of the Gulf Arab state since it signed a normalization deal with Israel on September 15.
The deal was condemned as a betrayal by Iran and its regional allies.
