The 46-year-old globally recognised climate and energy campaigner, was sentenced in Hanoi on June 17, her NGO said on Saturday. A court official confirmed the sentence to the AFP news agency without giving any further details.

[NYPOST] More than 12,000 marijuana plants in 32 greenhouses were seized from a marijuana grow site in southern Oregon on Thursday, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
A search warrant was served by Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team detectives along with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies at a rural property in Eagle Point at about 6:45 a.m., officials said in a statement.
The property contained the cannabis plants and 3,000 pounds of processed marijuana, sheriff’s officials said.
Seven workers at the site were detained, interviewed, and released, officials said.
The grow site had been under investigation for a month and there was no licensing for any type of cannabis growing, handling, or processing, according to the sheriff’s office.
A primary suspect has been identified, the sheriff’s office noted.

[NYPOST] A Disney World employee was among 12 men nabbed by Florida law enforcement for allegedly soliciting children for sex online, officials said.
The suspects, between the ages of 20 and 67, are facing a total of 49 felony charges following a two-week-long undercover investigation dubbed "Operation Child Protector II," the Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
Among those arrested is 30-year-old Zachary Hudson, who was employed as a bus driver at Disney World, cops said.
Between June 4 and 5, Hudson allegedly exchanged online messages with an undercover detective posing as a 15-year-old girl.
The detective asked Hudson if he had a problem with her only being 15, to which he replied as long as "my being older doesn’t bother you," according to authorities. He later reportedly told her "age is just a number."
The conversation moved to text messaging, where police say Hudson described the sexual acts he desired to do to her. He also sent a nude photo to the girl, cops said.
"What would an operation be — either a pornography investigation or predator operation or human trafficking operation — without a Disney employee? We always have a Disney employee," Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told WKMG-TV.

Mizintsev stressed that the Russian Armed Forces treat the civilian population humanely and do not strike civilian infrastructure facilities.

Uninstalled Edge months ago, right down to the registry entries. Windows update keeps trying to put it back. I note from Ccleaner that Edge accumulates trackers, even though I don't actually use it (probably thru the Firefox deal).

[Washington Examiner] The State Department appointed its first-ever racial equity and justice special representative on Thursday, another Biden administration step toward promoting equity as some question the administration's efficacy on policy.
Desiree Cormier Smith will be tasked with leading the department's "efforts to protect and advance the human rights of people belonging to marginalized racial and ethnic communities and combat systemic racism, discrimination, and xenophobia around the world" with the hope of achieving "more effective foreign policies and programs that support all people regardless of their race or ethnicity," according to a press release.
"The State Department strives to promote and protect the rights of individuals and communities who are oppressed because of their race or ethnicity and create a just world where all people are valued, included, and able to live up to their full potential," the release read.

Oh and this time they won't even have to feed and shelter their slaves. The government will do it for them.

Sudies suggest a link between an incurable and fatal prion disease known as Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) and COVID-19 vaccines.
Researchers believe the prion region from the original Wuhan COVID-19 variant’s spike protein was incorporated into mRNA vaccines and adenovirus vector vaccines — given to hundreds of millions of humans — and that it can cause a new type of rapidly progressing sporadic CJD.
According to Mayo Clinic, CJD is a degenerative brain disorder that leads to dementia and, ultimately, death.
Although the Omicron variant does not have a prion region on its spike protein, current COVID-19 vaccines still use the genetic material — including the prion region — of the parent Wuhan strain.
A French pre-print paper published in May on CJD and COVID-19 vaccination identified a new form of sporadic CJD that occurred within days of receiving a first or second dose of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.
Researchers analyzed 26 cases of CJD and found the first symptoms appeared on average 11.38 days after injection with a COVID-19 vaccine.
Of the 26 cases, 20 had died by the time the study was published and six were still alive.
"The 20 deaths occurred only 4.76 months after the injection. Among them, 8 of them lead to a sudden death (2.5 months)," researchers wrote.
"This confirms the radically different nature of this new form of CJD, whereas the classic form requires several decades," wrote the researchers.
Dr. Jean-Claude Perez, lead author of the French study, on June 6 told The Epoch Times that all 26 cases resulted in death.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), prion diseases are a family of rare progressive neurodegenerative disorders that affect humans and animals. Prion diseases are usually rapidly progressive and always fatal.
Although prions occur naturally in the brain and are usually harmless, they can become diseased or misfolded, affecting nearby prions and causing them to become misshapen.
The abnormal folding of the prion proteins "leads to brain damage and the characteristic signs and symptoms of the disease," the CDC’s website states.
Sporadic CJD occurs when a person becomes infected for no apparent reason. Once a single prion becomes infected, it will progress to other prions, and there is no treatment capable of stopping it.
