Britain
Britain to begin tagging asylum-seekers with GPS trackers
[Washington Examiner] British officials will begin placing electronic monitoring devices on some asylum-seekers who arrive in the country, according to a new one-year program announced this week.

The 12-month pilot program will test whether equipping immigrants with GPS trackers will allow the government to maintain regular contact with those facing deportation, as well as more accurately track violations of curfew and other rules. The policy comes in response to an influx of illegal immigration in Britain, posing a "significant challenge" to officials, the government said.

"There has been an unprecedented growth in irregular migration through unnecessary and dangerous routes, to the point where this represents a significant challenge to the operation of effective immigration control," the policy reads. "Those arriving via such routes are a relatively unknown cohort to the Home Office, and we do not know much about their individual circumstances or the routes they have taken to travel to the UK."

The policy will target those who attempt to enter the country via the English Channel, a route that officials say is dangerous. More than 10,000 immigrants have entered Britain through the channel so far this year, and at least 27 died in one incident last November.

The program would target asylum-seekers who are released from holding centers on bail to ensure that for those who breach their contract, the government can "more effectively reestablish contact ... or locate them for removal or detention if appropriate in their case."

The program is also likely to tag those who have challenged being sent to Rwanda while they wait for the country to process its request for asylum, which many have challenged as "unlawful on multiple bases." A court ordered the first flight transporting asylum-seekers to Rwanda, but it was stopped just before departure.

British officials have urged migrants to seek "safe and legal" alternatives, noting many are smuggled into the country via dangerous routes.

"Migrants are often told by smugglers that travelling to the UK will be safe and easy. In reality the journey puts people at serious risk of injury, abuse and exploitation. The journey is not only expensive, but dangerous," the government said. "Don’t risk it. Choose a safe and legal alternative."

#6  ^ You may need to reprogram your automated pet door, but on the plus side, a drone with an RFID reader could flow over a crowd and harpoon "persons of interest" with a tranquilizer dart.

DM Gantz: Israel ready to respond if Iran attack Israelis in Turkey
[JPost] Israeli security officials are concerned that Iranian cells with local Turkish operatives would carry out an immediate attack.

Israel will respond to any Iranian attacks against its citizens with force, at anywhere, Defense Minister Benny Gantz warned amid warnings that Iran terror cells are seeking to carry out an imminent attack to kill or kidnap Israelis visiting Turkey.

"I call on all Israelis in Turkey to obey the instructions of security forces," Defense Minister Benny Gantz said Saturday night. "Israel is working to thwart Iranian attempts to carry out an attack, and is preparing to respond forcefully to any attack on Israeli citizens - anywhere."

Iran Warns of Harm to Regional Stability Ahead of Biden's ME Visit
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian warned regional states not to allow outsiders to disturb regional cooperation and stability.

This comes as Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The nincompoop who dumped Afghanistan. The copier doesdn't exist that could reelect him....
is going to visit the Middle East for the first time as US President.

In a telephone conversation on Friday, the Iranian foreign minister and his Omani counterpart talked about major bilateral affairs as well as issues of mutual interest at the regional and international levels.

The top Iranian diplomat pointed to the US president’s upcoming visit to the region, saying that officials in West Asia should not let extra-regional countries influence cooperation and stability here.

"We emphasize dialogue and cooperation in the region and believe that the West Asian nations should decide its future themselves," Amir Abdollahian added.

He also referred to the recent visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Oman, describing the trip as a new turning point in the ties between Tehran and Muscat.

Amir Abdollahian highlighted the importance of developing ties between Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites....
and Oman, stressing the need to pursue and implement bilateral agreements.

He also described Oman’s role in regional developments as important and appreciated Muscat’s efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.

For his part, Badr al-Busaidi underlined the need for the implementation of bilateral agreements reached between Iran and Oman during President Raisi’s successful visit to Muscat.

He said Oman trusts the new Iranian administration’s approach which is based on the expansion of ties with the regional countries.
