[CDLLife] As cities across the country are discussing defunding or disbanding their police departments, truck drivers are voicing concerns of safety. Seventy-seven percent of truck drivers say they will refuse to deliver freight to cities with defunded police departments.
Truck driving is historically ranked as one of the most dangerous jobs in the country. In 2018, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic reported truck driving as the most deadly job in the country.
Truck drivers have spent the last year on the front line of a global pandemic and protests. Now many are fearful of what might happen if police departs disband or are defunded.
Truck drives have been voicing their concerns on the CDLLife App. After reading about their concerns, CDLLife posted a poll on the app.
We asked drivers on the app, "Would you pick up/deliver to cities with defunded or disbanded police departments? Why or why not?"
To date, 77% of drivers say they will refuse loads to cities with disbanded or defunded police departments.
Other cities are planning similar but less dramatic options. For example, New York and Los Angeles said they will reduce budget and deploy other resources such as social and youth programs.
It would become a very interesting situation with significantly reduced and significantly more expensive shipping from outside.

Auto pilot perhaps. With increased regulation and harassment plus many retiring to just get out will only cause more severe distribution problems. The new drivers with CDL's hired show no signs to do anything physical. Heavy lifting is out. Beer, Soda, water, grocery items, you name it. In New York city you can't stop at traffic lights because teams will open back doors and throw product out as you drive along. Even new hires with a truck load of product disappear and when the truck is found it is empty. Many negatives in truck driving. Go independent most likely go broke.

This is truly the end of these hellholes. Basically fire rescue, ambulance service is gone now. No food or fuel deliveries. Then cut utilities. Then watch the cockroaches scatter.

No problem. They can always get Amazon to deliver with drones.

The city of Seattle has actually been providing these services to them. RevLARPEers aren't the threat (although they are a problem).
The threat is the "respectable" "professional" suited/pantsuited establishment figures that arerunning cover for them.
Just like when the Weathermen went "underground" with the aid of that era's establishment.

In the olden days, a stagecoach had a driver and somebody riding shotgun. In the modern version, the truck drives itself and the driver operates the remote weapons stations.
[ToloNews] An explosion occurred at the Sher Shah Suri Mosque in the Kart-e-Char area in the west of Kabul as people were partaking in the Friday prayer, killing at least four worshippers including mosque Imam Maulavi Azizullah Mufleh.
Mofleh was also serving as a member of the Afghanistan Ulema Council.
Mofleh had obtained a masters degree in Koranic teachings and the Hadith.
The Afghan Ministry of Hajj and Pilgrimage said that Mofleh was an ideologically-moderate scholar and was in support of the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANDSF).
Mofleh was also against discrimination on the basis of race, language and color.
Mofleh initially pursued his education in Pakistain but later obtained a master's degree in Kabul.
"By targeting the moderate and enlightened faces, they want to pave the way for krazed killer ideology and the expansion of ignorant and fundamentalist perceptions," said Salim Hussaini, a holy man in Kabul.
[AlAhram] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... 's military conducted an air and naval exercise in the eastern Mediterranean, its defence ministry said Friday, in an apparent show of force linked to the Libyan conflict.
The drill, which lasted for eight hours Thursday, was dubbed an "Open Sea Training" exercise by the ministry in a statement that did not mention Libya directly.
Eight frigates and corvettes participated, along with 17 planes that flew from Eskisehir, central Turkey on a 2,000-km (1,250-mile) round trip, it said.
The private NTV broadcaster said the exercise was held in Libyan waters but did not offer any explanation.
The defence ministry reported that the exercise was "conducted successfully", sharing photographs and videos of the F-16 fighter jets and warships in action.
Ottoman Turkish state news agency Anadolu dubbed the drill a "show of force".
The exercise came as tensions grow in the eastern Mediterranean owing to the conflict in Libya, and a dispute with Cyprus and Greece over offshore hydrocarbon resources.
Turkey has already sent ships to search for oil and gas off the divided island of Cyprus.
Turkey backs the UN-recognised Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... , which has been under attack by rivals Libyan National Army (LNA) commander Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... since April 2019.
Haftar is supported by Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, with whom Turkey's relations are strained, as well as by Russia.
Momentum in the conflict changed after Ankara sent Syrian fighters, drones and military advisors to Libya after signing maritime and security agreements with Tripoli.
GNA forces have in recent weeks recaptured outposts in western Libya that had been seized by pro-Haftar loyalists, who then tried to march on the capital.
On Wednesday, a Ottoman Turkish warship prevented a new EU naval mission enforcing the Libya arms embargo from checking a suspect freighter off the war-torn country's coast.
Ottoman Turkish pro-government daily Yeni Safak reported Friday that Ankara could set up two bases in Libya, one southwest of Tripoli at al-Watiya that would host drones and the other in the port city of Misrata.

Show of force for the local news which Yippy controls. Nothing to see here these aren't the droids you're looking for.
[UPI] The United Nations ...an idea whose time has gone... on Thursday announced the Government of National Accord is investigating the discovery of at least eight mass graves in Libya.
The U.N. Support Mission in Libya said it welcomed a decision by the justice minister to establish a committee to investigate, secure the mass graves, identify the victims, establish causes of death and return the bodies to next of kin.
"UNSMIL notes with horror the discovery of at least eight mass graves in past days, the majority of them in Tarhuna. International law requires that the authorities conduct prompt, effective and transparent investigations into all alleged cases of unlawful deaths," the organization said.
Lutfi Tevfik Misrati, head of an office of the Libyan government investigating disappearances, said there were 10 to 12 bodies in one of the graves.
"The region is full of corpses," Misrati said.
The Libyan army recently liberated Tarhuna from forces loyal to rebel Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... and the government announced Friday it found 106 bodies in a hospital in the town shortly after the rebel forces were removed.
Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashaga said Haftar's militias burned some prisoners in containers and buried others alive in mass graves.

The deaths are only 'unlawful' as in they defy the Geneva conventions, which are immaterial to muslim nations anyway. Even if Haftar's men killed them, they were just troublemaker ragheads which any other army would have imprisoned and burdened their own taxpayers with feeding, until they escaped.
What's 30 or so UN supported sunni fundamentalists burnt alive ? Jack and shit. And Jack left Libya long ago.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] More than 10,000 Syrian fighters have been sent to Libya by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... , and 300 have been killed, the head of a war monitor told Al Arabiya English.
The latest batch of fighters landed onboard a flight from Turkey on Friday, carrying more than 126 fighters, Al Arabiya reported, according to an anonymous source.
The head of Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Rami Abdel Rahman, said Turkey transferred 13,000 Syrian mercenaries to Libya since it began intervening.
"There is no cooperation from the international community on the transfer of mercenaries and the crimes that are taking place in Libya, which resembles [what took place] during the Syrian revolution at the end of 2011. The same scenario is [taking place] in Libya today," Abdel Rahman told Al Arabiya English.

#Egypt- latest al-Naba (#238) includes more information of the incident in Rafah, claims it caused 10 casualties in an ambush that led to 2-hours engagement+fending off reinforcement, eventually forcing a withdrawal of naval SOF team via sea (with quite hyperbolic stock photo) pic.twitter.com/nxhNjacC2v
[ALMASDARNEWS] A group of photos revealed Egypt’s readiness to open a new military base called the "Jerjoub" naval base near the Libyan border.
The Egyptian military expert, Mohammed al-Kinani, told RT Arabic that this base will be a focal point for logistical support to the Egyptian forces in the Red and Mediterranean seas so that they can confront the challenges and threats currently present in the region, including protecting Egyptian economic interests, protecting and securing global shipping lines, and the role of Egypt in protecting the security of navigation in the eastern and southeastern Mediterranean.
The Egyptian expert continued that this base will serve to aid in "counter-terrorism operations and attempts by holy warriors to infiltrate into Egyptian coastal areas, and to combat arms smuggling and illegal immigration."
He said that Egypt focused on building a new base in the Red Sea called the "Ras Banas" base within the scope of the "Bernice" naval air base, and it will be the focal point of the Egyptian forces in the Red Sea from the beginning of the Suez Canal to the Bab al-Mandab strait.
He noted that this rule is very important and strategic because it is located in the southeast of Egypt, the highest triangle of Halayeb and Shalateen, pointing out that it "confirms the full Egyptian illusory sovereignty over Halayeb and Shalateen."
Al-Kinani said that this base will fully secure the Egyptian south from any threat, in addition to that it differs from the Muhammed Naguib land base, indicating that Egypt is building another naval base called the "Jerjoub" base west of Matrouh, and will be responsible for securing the western part of the Egyptian northern coast on the Mediterranean.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Thursday, the Ottoman Turkish Air Force conducted exercises over the Mediterranean Sea in which the E-7T airborne early warning and control aircraft participated.
In addition participating in the exercises, two aircraft refueling the Boeing KC-135R and a squadron of F-16 fighters also carried out flights.
On Thursday, an air bridge consisting of 4 Ottoman Turkish C-130 cargo planes was implemented between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...Qatar's satrapy in Asia Minor... and Misrata Airport, which carries logistical support.
The Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) forces’ "Volcano Anger" Operations Room said in a statement on Facebook that the total number of aircraft that entered Libyan airspace was estimated at 13 different types of aircraft, as follows: 2 Boeing KC-135Rs, and 4 C-130s, a Boeing E-7T plane and a squadron of F-16 fighters are estimated to have around 6 aircraft.
The Volcano Anger Operations room indicated that the Ottoman Turkish government officially announced on Thursday morning the opening of an air bridge between Libya and Turkey, stressing that the air bridge is within the agreement concluded between the government of al-Wefaq and Ankara.
This is a major move by the Ottoman Turkish authorities, as it confirms Ankara’s desire to increase their efforts to help the Government of National Accord in their war against the Libyan National Army.
Turkey has no doubt turn the tide of the war between the LNA and GNA, as their intervention has helped the latter retake several areas and avoid complete defeat.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) forces announced on Thursday that they had tightened control over a major supply line for the Libyan National Army (LNA).
According to the GNA’s official Facebook page, "Operation Volcano Anger", their forces on Wednesday evening extended control over a major supply line that stretches to the outskirts of the Libyan capital.
The Government of National Accord forces published a map that shows that this road leads from the city of al-Shweref, north of the city of Sebha to the north, where it branches in three directions towards the cities of Nessma, al-Qurayyat, and Morsit, south of the capital Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... This comes against the backdrop of accelerated field developments in Libya recently, where the Ottoman Turkish-backed forces were able to achieve tangible field successes and extend their control over the entire Greater Tripoli region and the strategic city of Tarhouna.
The Government of National Accord forces are now attempting to capture the strategic city of Sirte, which is where the Libyan National Army is heavily resisting the Ottoman Turkish-backed assault.
Despite assistance from their Ottoman Turkish allies, however, the Government of National Accord forces have been unable to retake Sirte as of yet, as their casualties continue to mount at the hands of the LNA.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Yeni Safak newspaper, which is close to the Ottoman Turkish government, revealed that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... intends to establish two permanent military bases in Libya.
On Friday, the newspaper quoted "regional sources" as saying that "military cooperation between Libya and Turkey will rise to higher levels," following the visit of the leader of the Presidential Council of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Fayez al-Sarraj, to Ankara on June 4th.
They explained that "consideration is being given to rebuilding the al-Watiyah Airbase, in which the infrastructure is being repaired, as well as efforts to clear mines."
Yeni Safak stated that these efforts aim to be available to build Turkey an airbase, as it is expected to deploy drones and Ottoman Turkish air defense systems that contributed to the success of the military operations earlier this year.
"Moreover, similar steps will be taken in the port city of Misrata, which overlooks the Mediterranean," in which a "naval base will be built, while fortifying the base with drones and air defense systems," the newspaper said.
The newspaper continued: "In conjunction with the Greek provocations in the eastern Mediterranean and the increasing tension there, it requires the presence of Ottoman Turkish naval forces in the Libyan territorial waters, and accordingly it is believed to convert the Misrata port into a permanent Ottoman Turkish naval base."
They added, however, that Turkey will have the "largest share in the extraction of oil there", noting in this context that "the presence of Ottoman Turkish warships is necessary to maintain the safety of exploration activities from any potential threats."

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Secretary-General of the United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... , António Guterres ...Portuguese politician and diplomat, ninth Secretary-General of the United Nations. Previously, he was the UN High Commissioner for Refugees between 2005 and 2015. He was the Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002 and was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party from 1992 to 2002. He served as President of the Socialist International from 1999 to 2005. Guterres continued that the design features of some of them were similar to those produced by a commercial entity in Iran, or bearing Persian marks, and that some were transferred from the Islamic Theocratic Republic between February 2016 and April 2018.
He stated that "these pieces may have been transferred in a manner inconsistent with" the 2015 Security Council resolution stipulating the agreement between Tehran and world powers to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.
The Iranian mission to the United Nations in New York did not respond to a request for comment on the UN report.
The attacks of Saudi Aramco facilities took place last year on the Abqaiq and Khurais facilities in the eastern region of the Kingdom.
The facilities were targeted by the Ansarallah forces, which used drones and cruise missiles in their wide-scale attack.
It is noteworthy to mention that the U.S. Navy announced last February that it had "confiscated 150 illegal missiles on a ship in the Arabian Sea."
The U.S. Navy added that "the components of the confiscated missiles in the Arabian Sea are Iranian designed," noting that "the weapons confiscated in the Arabian Sea include 3 Iranian (surface-to-air) missiles."
There is an event tomorrow in Nashville, Tenn. inspired by the Seattle "autonomous zone." Organizers are calling for people to come "reclaim" the Legislative Plaza. pic.twitter.com/ZPq2Odfxrl
But Republican Gov. Bill Lee is not Washington Governor Jay Inslee, he was having none of that. He issued a warning today that Tennessee would not tolerate such a “zone.”
From Tennessean:
“We encourage Tennesseans to exercise their First Amendment rights and have seen many examples of peaceful protests across our state in recent weeks,” Lee said in a statement midday Friday. “As demonstrations continue, we will continue to protect Tennesseans’ right to peaceful assembly, while also reassuring citizens that lawlessness, autonomous zones, and violence will not be tolerated.
“Further, Tennessee law expressly prohibits camping on state property not expressly designated as a campground area, and that law will be enforced.”
The General Assembly in February 2012 passed the law after Occupy Nashville protesters set up a campsite at Legislative Plaza, making it a misdemeanor to do so.
It’s unclear who’s involved, but police said they were prepared.
Kris Mumford, a spokeswoman for the Metro Nashville Police Department, said police were aware of the plans, have reached out to THP and Central Precinct officers will be monitoring the situation “should it enter into the streets or require our involvement.”
The graphic told people to bring food, tents and other camping gear, as well as art and musical instruments. It also said they demanded defunding of the police and removing of all “racist statues.”
They already have a couple of tents up.
Nashville CHAZ so far is a very chill place. The people beside me are debating whether communism or anarchism is better

[NYPost] An upstate woman and two Brooklyn lawyers were indicted Friday on federal explosives and arson charges for allegedly tossing Molotov cocktails at NYPD vehicles during George Floyd protests in New York City.
Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskill, is accused of hurling the makeshift explosive at an NYPD vehicle occupied by four coppers on early Saturday morning, May 30.
Prosecutors allege Shader bit one of the officer’s legs when she was being taken into custody.
Around the same time, Brooklyn lawyers Urooj Rahman, 31, and Colinford Mattis, 32, were accused of tossing their own Molotov cocktail at an unoccupied police vehicle in Brooklyn during a separate attack.
All three face life in prison on the seven-count indictments, charging them with the use of explosives, arson, use of explosives to commit a felony, arson conspiracy, use of a destructive device, civil disorder, and making or possessing a destructive device.

Arson is a serious felony, right below murder and kidnapping. The big problem is that, once a fire gets out of control, people might be burned or even killed. Then it's murder. That's why life in prison is an appropriate sentence.

Officials for CHAZ also said illegal aliens must be called "undocumented" because "no person is illegal." The demands include:
We demand that the funding previously used for Seattle Police be redirected into:
A) Socialized Health and Medicine for the City of Seattle.
B) Free public housing, because housing is a right, not a privilege.
C) Public education, to decrease the average class size in city schools and increase teacher salary.
D) Naturalization services for immigrants colonists to the United States living here undocumented. (We demand they be called "undocumented" because no person is illegal.)
E) General community development. Parks, etc.

Especially with the number of residential quarters inside the area. I saw something like 800+ which seems a bit much but with apartments could be. If so, one would assume a number that size would have all family sizes, age variations, and health conditions.
What I find interesting is the absolute lack of any testimonials from residents from behind occupied Beattle.
It would take only 1 person not satisfied with the speed of the results to cause a lot of damage even cost lives. Obviously the PR wing wouldn't like to see an apartment complex full of people go up in flames but every demand not met erodes the governing councils' Mandate.
There seems to be a command and control system in place, but even with their immediate complete cooperation response time will be reduced just getting there, nevermind a high rise structure fire. Worse, with the complete cooperation comes all the ill trained and equipped volunteers causing a mess.
“Our calls for service have more than tripled. These are responses to emergency calls — rapes, robberies, and all sorts of violent acts that have been occurring in the area that we’re not able to get to.”

Apart from the truly heroic vapidity of the statement is the odd uniformity of message all around the country from mayor to governor, all dems of course. Seems they got their orders from yegg central.
Participants say “justice will not be achieved until Black people not only have the right to survive but also thrive”.
This movement applies to “those of us who are white," for they “play a key role in perpetuating systemic racism."
Founders of the movement write that STEM is problematic because research papers often “reinforce anti-Black narratives."
Professors, researchers, and students in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics field from around the country are taking part Wednesday in the #ShutDownSTEM movement to combat what they say is systemic racism in academia. They argue that the STEM field itself creates technology that is “weaponized against black people.”
One scholar and self-proclaimed “leading expert on wokeness,” James Lindsay, who is best known for his participation in a project that exposed the faulty review process of academic journals by submitting hoax papers that were ultimately published by such publications, tweeted, that "one point of #ShutDownSTEM is to find out who doesn't do it (maybe they're working on a Covid-19 vaccine?) and to use that against them later, just like happened at Evergreen State College with its Day of Absence."
Members of the science academic community are “call[ing]on people who are not Black to spend a day undertaking discussion and action that furthers this work, while providing Black scientists with a day of rest."
It will be a day where they “#ShutDownAcademia, #ShutDownSTEM, and #Strike4BlackLives."
Scientists and researchers subscribing to the movement will not do any work for the entire day, and any class or research group meetings “should be cancelled [sic] or replaced with discussions with colleagues about anti-Black bias in the world and in academia.” Researchers, professors, and other academics participating are encouraged to use the hashtags #STRIKE4BLACKLIVES, #STRIKEFORBLACKLIVES, and #SHUTDOWNSTEM.

Then there is the somewhat related topics of reparations and Confederate statuary. A former colleague, author, and friend sent me this interesting observation (seemed like it might fit here):
Ref reparations, I wonder if they will take into account that the 1860 Census showed that a higher proportion of free blacks in the South than whites owned slaves!
The Confederacy has been as dead as Julius Caesar for 155 years. So why this hysteria now? It is just the camel’s nose under the tent. The destruction of the remnants of the Confederacy are merely preparatory measures to get people used to what is the next step – the assault on the history and goodness of this country. Already the Founding Fathers are being attacked. For example, Thomas Jefferson because he owned slaves is being cast into the outer darkness. And by extension, everything he did – Declaration of Independence and all his writings on freedom, will be discredited. Think of the 1619 Project championed by that Jacobin-invested NYT that slanders the United States that everything we have accomplished is invalid because of slavery and segregation. It defecates on hour history and ancestors. This is a Marxist plan to destroy this country, and it comes out of a corrupt and malicious academia which has turned our universities into totalitarian nurseries as it has purged itself of any opinions but those of the left. Being a former analyst of the Soviet Union and completely familiar with the way these people behave, I have no doubt what is afoot. So ironically, striking at the ghost of the Confederacy is essentially a strike against the United States itself.

They all had to learn to do stuff though. Over time, many of them are ashamed and embarrassed of the shitholes they came from, and will have their children proudly tell you they're genuine Americans and nothing else.
You have to give up tribalism, climb down from your high tree and humble yourself before teachers to learn anything.
[Twitter]By abandoning neutrality, GoFundMe is now affirming that it does regulate content.. and is then liable for lawsuits..
What is interesting is that, by abandoning neutrality, GoFundMe is now affirming that it does regulate content. That could undermine the position of these companies against the loss of immunity under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. https://t.co/jOeLSt2f4U
After raising $205,000 in a few hours @gofundme decided to halt my campaign for the Parkside Cafe in Alabama. At their discretion, they deemed that funds raised for a conservative business constitutes “intolerance” They WILL however give the funds raised thus far to the cafe... pic.twitter.com/Mfw88iDKRi

As a hard core capitalist. I believe people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their money, including burning it to stay warm or tossing it out windows. All the same, GoFundMe is just electronic panhandling and I'm glad to see them give themselves a black eye.

[AlAhram] A Ottoman Turkish court nabbed Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! a prominent opposition journalist from an online news outlet pending trial on accusations that she revealed state secrets in two articles about Ankara's military involvement in Libya, her lawyer said on Friday.
Muyesser Yildiz, the Ankara news editor for the OdaTV online news portal, was detained on Monday and formally arrested on Thursday following her questioning.
One article published in December questioned which Ottoman Turkish commanders met Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. Actually, he is, but slowly... , the commander of the Libyan National Army, which is fighting the internationally recognised Government of National Accord of Prime Minister Fayez al-Serraj, backed by The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... The second article, from January, gave details about a military officer who was sent to Libya to oversee Turkey's involvement there.
Yildiz was initially detained on espionage charges but this was later changed to revealing state secrets, lawyer Erhan Tokatli told Rooters.
"If the articles threaten the security of this country so much, they should have blocked access to them," he said.
Ismail Dukel, Ankara representative of broadcaster TELE1, who was also detained along with Yildiz and questioned, was released, state-owned Anadolu news agency said. An army sergeant detained with them was also nabbed Maw! They're comin' to get me, Maw! , it said without elaborating.
OdaTV, an online news outlet, has been critical of President Tayyip Erdogan's government. Turkey ranks among the top jailers of journalists across the world.

...on the FBI’s Most Wanted list as Ramadan Abdullah Mohammad Shallah
was "a colleague at [convicted jihad terror leader] Sami al-Arian’s Paleostinian think tank in Tampa who later emerged as the head of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... in the Middle East."
How did a man like that get into the United States in the first place? By taking advantage of the fact that no one would have dreamed of asking him about his religious views; to have done so would have been "Islamophobic."
"Paleostinian Leader Eulogizes Monster on FBI’s ’Most Wanted Terrorist’ List," United With Israel, June 7, 2020 (thanks to the Geller Report):
Paleostinian Authority (PA) President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase.... eulogized the leader of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad terror group, who died on Saturday night two years after he was struck by a powerful stroke.
Abbas referred to Ramadan Abdullah Shallah as "a great national figure," TPS reported, in comments delivered to the arch-terrorist’s family.

Despite its downsides, Tampa is a great place to visit. Because you can leave! Oldest restaurant in Florida and hand rolled cigars in Ybor City. Worth the trip.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Beirut witnessed, yesterday, huge demonstrations and protests after the spread of news about the Lebanese pound trading for 7000 per dollar, which led citizens to go out and condemn the policies of the government and the Central Bank of Leb ...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers... According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the center of Beirut witnessed violent confrontations between the Lebanese Army and the demonstrators, who in turn tried to remove iron barriers from the roads leading to the government house.
This prompted the security forces to use force to remove the demonstrators from the security zone in the Riad El Solh area in the center of the Lebanese capital.
A number of protesters also smashed the facade of a number of banks in the Hamra neighborhood of Beirut, and young men blocked the road in Mahalla, near the Central Bank of Lebanon.
In the north, the protesters tried to burn Lebanon ’s central bank branch in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... by throwing Molotov cocktails, which summoned the Lebanese Army to intervene strongly to break up the demonstrations.
Lastly, many roads were closed in southern Lebanon and the international highway leading to Syria in the Beqa’a.
