He considered the idea in call with county officials Thursday, as New York City struggles to find accommodations for thousands more asylum-seekers expected to arrive following the expiration of the federal border policy Title 42, according to an audio tape obtained by Politico.
Adams in the call said his administration needs help from neighboring counties as the city has already provided housing, food and other services to over 65,000 asylum-seekers over the past year.
Adams in the call didn’t rule out the suggestion from Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio that the mayor consider vacant housing at SUNY New Paltz as well as the shuttered Downstate Correctional Facility in nearby Fishkill, Dutchess County, Politico also reports.
"Nothing is off the table," said Adams, a Democrat. "If anyone has alternative locations, we’re open to listening. We’re not taking anything off the table at all. We’re going to look at both of those locations you mentioned."
Adams has also asked property owners in New York to help house migrants, according to the Daily Caller Foundation.
Adams said earlier this week the he intends to relocate 300 recent arrivals to Orange and Rockland counties.

At the end of the conference, the participants issued a declaration to support all forms of resistance against the Taliban and called on the international community to recognize and support of all forms of resistance. Another important outcome was the announcement of plans to create a single national umbrella organization against the Taliban.
The conference participants also drew attention to the systematic exclusion of women from the public sphere as gender apartheid and condemned the UN's silence around the current situation of women and girls in Afghanistan. Michael McCaul, US Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, responded to the conference by commending "the efforts of the anti-Taliban forces to unite against the Taliban's oppression, especially the oppression of Afghan women and girls and the Afghan allies of the United States."
As the international community is starting to discuss how to engage with the Taliban, the importance of the Vienna conference will continue to grow. According to Ali Maisam Nazary, the Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance® Front of Afghanistan (NRF), the main military resistance group to the Taliban, the purpose of the conference was to build trust and unity between political, civil, and military actors opposed to the Taliban. The conference remains the only platform for the opposition to discuss the current crisis in Afghanistan, speak with one voice, and remind the world of the alternative to Taliban rule there.
ANTI-TALIBAN RESISTANCE IS UNIFYING
This meeting was a follow-up of the First Vienna Conference held in September 2022. It was organized one year after the Afghan government’s collapse on August 15, 2021, which culminated in the escape of Mohammad Ashraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money... Ahmadzai, Afghanistan’s president at the time, from the country. The first conference brought together Afghanistan’s political figures, women’s rights activists, former members of the parliament, journalists, and academics. It concluded with the issuance of a declaration that highlighted political, economic, social, and humanitarian issues brought up by the Taliban rule in the country.
The Taliban took over Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, on August 15, 2021, after 20 years of fighting against the US backed government. The collapse of the Afghan government came after the Doha Agreement, signed between the US and the Taliban on February 29, 2020, without the involvement of the Afghan government. It led to the withdrawal of NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all.... forces from the country, exposing Afghan National Security Forces vulnerable to the Taliban attacks.
Afghanistan has seen drastic negative changes in the past 21 months since the Taliban came to power. The backsliding has taken place in all spheres of life, including systemic violation of women's and human rights ...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you... , assassination and torture of former militaries, forceful displacement of people from their homes, and ethnic discrimination. All the political power is concentrated in the hands of the Pashtun tribe, to which the Taliban belong. Kenya’s head of state further revealed that the absence of direct flights between Kenya and Israel is a "serious impediment" that continues to hamper trade and tourism.

Today, Kenyan exports to Israel are worth $ 100 million whilst imports from Israel amount to $ 7.5 million a year. "We are underperforming, but we have clear potential to do much more."
He said the imbalance is not a result of natural equilibrium in Kenya’s export performance but impositions on export producers.
On his part, Mr. Netanyahu committed to continuing working with Kenya in fighting terrorism, countering radicalization, and violent mostly peaceful extremism.

[NYPOST] Straining under the pressure of thousands of migrants colonists flooding into the US, Border Patrol agents were ordered to begin releasing swaths of people from overwhelmed holding facilities Wednesday.
Agents were ordered Wednesday to release migrants colonists from any border sector that reached 125% capacity. They are being released without having a court date and with no way the US can track them, but given instructions to appear at an immigration office within 60 days, according to NBC.
"We’re already breaking and we haven’t hit the starting line," one DHS official told the network.
A leaked email from Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz published by the Daily Caller instructed agents to facilitate releases if the average time in jug had exceeded 60 hours or if 7,000 migrants colonists were taken into custody across the border in just one day.
Those quotas were exceed each day from Sunday to Wednesday with 10,000 people or over apprehended by officials.
More than 28,000 migrants colonists were in CBP custody Wednesday, an official said, up from 8,600 two months ago and facilities holding people across the length of the border were oversubscribed, often by huge amounts.
In Texas, the Rio Grande Valley border sector has a holding capacity of 4,000, but since late April has been reporting numbers as as high as 7,500 in jug. El Paso has an official capacity to hold less than 3,000 migrants colonists, but listed over 6,000 people custody in May 11.
The migrants colonists, most of whom have entered the country illegally, will be released under "parole with conditions," which means it is up to them to arrange to meet with Immigration and Customs Enforcement within 60 days or apply for an asylum court date to be sent by mail.

Sen. Bernie Sanders chaired a gathering in the US Senate Wednesday during which Congress member Rashida Tlaib hosted an event where she bashed Israel as an “apartheid” state that engages in terror.
The gathering was to mark the Nakba, a Palestinian term meaning “catastrophe” that refers to the displacement of Palestinian people when Israel was founded in 1948.
Michigan lawmaker Talib had initially hoped to hold the event in the Congress Visitors Center but Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy thwarted her plan by reserving the space himself and hosting a celebration to mark 75 years of US-Israel ties.
Sanders then stepped in by chairing the meeting in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Hearing Room, located in the Senate office building and therefore outside of McCarthy’s reach.
Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt panned Sanders for facilitating the Nakba event in the Capitol, calling it “disgraceful.”
“Real conversations are needed around a path to peace, but not with groups & individuals who espouse antisemitism,” Greenblatt wrote. “We call on the Senate to condemn this event.”
Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli responded by tweeting a photograph of wartime Jerusalem Grand Mufti Amin al-Husseini, who met with Hitler, greeting a parade of Waffen-SS volunteers with a Nazi salute in 1943.

The apex court has sent the PTI chief to the Police Lines Guest House and ordered him to present himself before the Islamabad High Court (IHC) by tomorrow, the same court which declared his arrest legal, while also setting the precedence that no person will be arrested within the premises of a court.
When the authorities presented the PTI chief before the three-member bench at around 5:40pm — an hour later than ordered — the hearing resumed and there was a short exchange of words between Chief Justice of Pakistain Umar Ata Bandial and Khan and then the order was issued.
PTI — which has been on a rampage for the last two days and its protests have led to festivities with the police across the country, resulting in the death of several — welcomed the decision, with the government unhappy with the development.
The three-member bench — headed by CJP Bandial and comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar — issued the verdict on PTI's petition challenging Khan's arrest.
The petition was filed after the capital's high court declared his arrest legal on May 9 (the day he was arrested), despite expressing dissatisfaction over the manner of the arrest.
"It is good seeing you," CJP Bandial told Khan when he was presented before the three-member bench, and also asked him to "condemn" the violent mostly peaceful protests that took place as a result of the arrest.
'I JUST WANT FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS'
In response, the PTI chief, through the media present in the courtroom, forwarded a message to his supporters that they should refrain from damaging public and private property.
"I don’t want any loss in the country nor do I wish for people to get incited. I just want free and fair elections," the PTI chief told the court, pleading with the court that despite his responding to the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) notices, he was arrested.
In response to the court’s question about whether he knew what was going on in Pakistain, Khan — who became the first prime minister to be ousted from office through a no-confidence vote in April last year — said his mobile phone was taken away and he was unaware about what was happening in the country.
Then the PTI chief requested the CJP to send him home, but the top judge said he was not going to do that and assured him that he would "remain at peace at the Police Lines Guest House".
"You can stay there, talk, rest, and then present yourself before the Islamabad High Court tomorrow," CJP told Khan. The CJP then directed authorities to allow Khan to meet as many as 10 people — including his lawyers, friends, and family members.

[Shafaq News] The Hashd al-Shaabi paramilitary umbrella group has doubled in size over the past two years, making it the third-largest force in the country, documents related to Iraq’s draft budget seen by Middle East Eye suggest.
The proposed 2023 budget, which the government submitted to parliament last month and has been reviewed by MEE, shows the Hashd is about half the size of the regular military. Security forces under the interior ministry are about three times the size of the paramilitary.
If passed, the new budget would give Hashd al-Shaabi 3.56 trillion Iraqi dinars ($2.7bn).

[Rudaw] Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Wednesday opened a new airbase for the force’s drone and helicopter fleet in the country’s southeast Sistan and Baluchestan province, state media reported.
The base is located in Zahedan, the lovely provincial capital of Sistan and Baluchestan, and "is fit to accommodate various types of combat, support, and rescue helicopters, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)," IRNA said.
During the inaugural ceremony, attended by both IRGC chief Hossein Salami and commander of the Guards’ ground forces Mohammed Pakpour, the latter said that the base will support the IRGC’s "various defense, rescue, logistics, and relief missions" in southeast Iran.
A number of Balochi jihadist groups in southeast Iran, primarily the Jaish al-Adl (Justice Army), have waged an insurgency against the Islamic republic and carry out attacks against the IRGC.
In 2021, an attack by the group in the city of Saravan killed at least five guards of the IRGC and three others were taken prisoner.
Jaish al-Adl has carried out a number of suicide kabooms on Iranian security forces, killing dozens in the border area.
