-Lurid Crime Tales-
CAIR Pennsylvania Dem Legislator and Poster Girl Resigns in Shame
[American Thinker] Movita Johnson-Harrell seemed to take pride in her position as the first Muslim woman elected to the Pennsylvania State Legislature. Now that record will forever have an asterisk next to it as Johnson-Harrell has turned herself in to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s Office, pleading guilty on charges of perjury, record tampering, and embezzling over $500,000 in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security disability funds, as well as donations to Motivations Education and Consultation Associates (MECA), a charity she established to allegedly serve the mentally ill and drug addicted poor in her predominately African-American neighborhood.
Goodness gracious — the woman is certainly thorough!
In a press conference, Attorney General Shapiro described Johnson-Harrell’s actions as "brazen corruption... her theft knew no bounds." Johnson-Harrell stole funds that personally belonged to the residents of her facilities and used it to purchase fox furs, trips to Mexico, to make payments on a Porsche, pay delinquent utility bills, cover her granddaughter’s private school tuition and even fund her political campaign. After the facility, where residents were living in squalor, was closed, Johnson-Harrell continued collecting their rent from MECA even though the facilities were no longer operating.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Johnson-Harrell’s dereliction of duty extended to her short time as a Pennsylvania state representative.

During her brief period in office, Johnson-Harrell seemed to spend the majority of her time celebrating herself as the first Muslim woman elected to the state legislature, and helping to fundraise and advocate for the Hamas-linked Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Alaska’s government retaliates after Goldman Sachs drops Arctic oil investments
[ADN] This week, mega-bank Goldman Sachs said it would no longer finance new oil exploration in the Arctic as part of a broader move away from fossil fuels.

Now, Gov. Mike Dunleavy says he is reconsidering whether Alaska should do business with the bank, and the Alaska Department of Revenue has already booted Goldman from a billion-dollar plan to borrow money to pay oil and gas drillers.

"In response to Goldman’s pledge, the governor’s office has directed the review and where possible without financial or progress impairment, the removal of Goldman from business relations with the state," acting Revenue Commissioner Mike Barnhill wrote in a Friday letter to Goldman’s CEO.

Wrapping up a weeklong trip to the East Coast, Dunleavy told news hounds on Thursday that he has "serious questions" about doing business with any company that isn’t willing to work with Alaska.

Visiting New York City, Dunleavy spoke about his concerns regarding Goldman to the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board. Seventeen state politicians also signed a letter asking Goldman to reconsider.

"I think it’s part of my role to advocate on behalf of Alaska," Dunleavy told news hounds.

Trollmaster Trump hoists Pelosi on her own petard
[American Thinker] - Yes, indeed, there's never been a president remotely similar to the forty-fifth occupant of the office.

Not even close.

NeverTrumps no doubt would deplore the "lack of civility" and proclaim that the "dignity of the office" has been impaired. They would much prefer the strategy employed by the forty-third POTUS, George W. Bush, who remained gentlemanly, never firing back when he was vilified by Democrats and the Left as "BushHitler" and "Chimpy McBush." And how'd that work out?

The uncouth, impolite, just terrible, horrible lout Donald Trump has taken the opposite tack, and after almost three years in office, he is seeing a "massive movement" in the polls in his favor.

The latest edition of "hitting back ten times as hard" when attacked was an in-your-face mocking of the very mockable speaker of the House:
    @realDonaldTrump
Nancy Pelosi is looking for a Quid Pro Quo with the Senate. Why aren’t we Impeaching her?

Multiple Members of Congress Send a Letter to AG Barr Demanding His Resignation
[Townhall] Multiple members of Congress on Friday sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr demanding that he and and United States Attorney John Durham resign. The six members of Congress claim the two men "inappropriately interfered in independent Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations and intentionally used your positions to mislead the American public in defense of President Donald J. Trump."

Their argument focuses solely on the fact that Barr "handpicked" Durham to investigate the origins of the Russia probe. The goal of Durham's investigation is to determine whether or not the probe was "lawful and appropriate."

According to these members, Barr's previous claims that the Trump campaign was spied upon is an "unfounded assertion" and was "inappropriate" because Inspector General Michael Horowitz was also completing his investigation.

"In the report released on on Monday December 9, the OIG concluded that the Justice Department acted within its jurisdiction initiating an investigation and that there was sufficient factual evidence to investigate the Trump campaign," the leader said.

The group said Barr pushed "conspiracy theories" during an interview that took place on Tuesday, December 10 by suggesting that "the FBI under the Obama administration was a greater threat to our democracy than Russia."

Next Democrat Prez Candidate Debate 14 January 2020
Good lord — they still have things to say?
[FiveThirtyEight]...the Democratic National Committee released the qualification rules for the seventh debate, which will take place on Jan. 14 in Iowa.

To qualify, candidates need to reach 5 percent support in at least four national or early-state polls, or 7 percent support in at least two early-state polls, from qualifying polling organizations released between Nov. 14 and Jan. 10. But candidates must also have at least 225,000 unique donors, including at least 1,000 donors in at least 20 states or territories. Based on what we know, five candidates have already made the January stage.

They are:

Biden
Buttigieg
Klobuchar
Sanders
Warren

Yang and/or Steyer might make it but the odds are against that

There are 3 additional Democratic Prez Debates Scheduled (7 Feb in NH, 19 Feb in Nev and 25 Feb in SCarolina). Viewership has been declining from ~33M for the first debate to ~6M for the most recent one. If this decline continues, the final debate will draw about negative 10 Million viewers.

Bernie Sanders: Americans Should Support Impeachment Because Trump Is a ‘Pathological Liar’
[BREITBART] Sen. Bernie Sanders
...The only first openly Socialist member of the U.S. Senate. Sanders was Representative-for-Life from Vermont until moving to the Senate for the rest of his life in 2006, assuming the seat vacated by Jim Jeffords. He ran for the 2016 nomination for president, to be cheated out of it by Hillary Clinton, then went back to being a socialist, waiting for 2020 to roll around...
(I-VT) was unable to provide a sound argument in favor of the impeachment of President Trump during the Democrat debate on Thursday, reverting to vague talking points and calling the president a "pathological liar."

Moderators kicked off the event by asking candidates how they can persuade more Americans to support the impeachment of the president.

"To the candidates ‐ last night, at this hour, the House of Representatives voted for only the third time in American history to impeach a president," PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff said.

"Every one of you was in favor of this action. But unlike 1974 and President Nixon, congressional Democrats have, so far, not convinced a strong majority of Americans to support impeachment of President Trump," she continued.

Sanders did not provide a detailed argument for impeaching the president. Instead, the presidential hopeful issued vague complaints and called Trump a "pathological liar."

He said:

Well, Judy, what I would say is that we have a president who is a pathological liar. We have a president who is running the most corrupt administration in the modern history of this country, and we have a president who is a fraud, because during his campaign, he told working people one thing, and he ended up doing something else.

I believe, and I will personally be doing this in the coming weeks and months, is making the case that we have a president ho has sold out the working families of this country, who wants to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid after he promised he would not do that, and who has documentedly lied thousands of times since he is president.

What ‘Somber’ Looks Like When It’s A Desperate Democrat Act
[CANADAFREEPRESS] Mainstream and social media would leave the masses believing that "Swamp Queen" House Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
and her Impeachment-giddy gang just celebrated the funeral of President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
‐when in fact they were "sombrely" and "prayerfully" celebrating the funerals of some 63 million Americans who voted for Trump.

Dead and buried are the voters, whose votes were cancelled in the purely partisan Trump Impeachment, according to funeral celebrating Democrats.

This is how the Democrats paid their last respects to the not-so-dearly departed:

Pelosi and other female Democrat politicians‐including publicity hound AOC‐turned up in black for the Impeachment vote‐breaking during the wake for wine and cheese refreshments‐clinking their wine glasses in what they tried to put over as a fittingly "somber" farewell to the dead‐one that leaves no one to rest in peace.

"Arriving Wednesday morning to the House proceeding in the Capitol, Pelosi was seen wearing a black collared dress that was accessorized with a gold choker necklace and a gold mace brooch. The ceremonial brooch represents her authority, known as the Mace of the Republic or Mace of the United States House of Representatives. (MonaSalama, Dec. 18, 2019)

Judge delays legal challenge by conservative group over Clinton emails
[UPI] A federal judge has delayed a ruling on whether former U.S. Secretary of State Crooked Hillary Clinton
...former first lady, former secretary of state, former presidential candidate, Conqueror of Benghazi, Heroine of Tuzla, formerly described by her supporters as the smartest woman in the world, usually described by the rest of us as The Thing That Wouldn't Go Away...
must submit to cross-examination stemming from a complaint by a conservative group concerning emails she wrote and received while serving in an official capacity.

U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lambeth said Thursday a decision would likely come in January concerning a request by conservative watchdog Judicial Watch, but added he was concerned by the continuing emergence of new emails in the case.

Last week the Justice Department released 30 emails not included in the 30,000 she gave the State Department in 2014.

Although Clinton was cleared of wrongdoing by a lengthy Justice Department investigation tied to the scandal -- which involved her sending official emails over a non-secure, private server -- the group seeks to depose Clinton and conduct another round of questioning of former chief of staff Cheryl Mills.

The group's long-running suit began with a search for information regarding Clinton's handling of the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya. It led to disclosures about Clinton's use of the private email system she used between 2009 and 2013 to conduct official business.

The FBI discovered that a few dozen emails contained classified information, and more than 2,000 were later retroactively classified by the State Department.

"The FBI moved heaven and earth to reconstruct and locate any email they could possibly find that was related to Secretary Clinton," Justice Department attorney Stephen Pezzi argued in court Thursday.

Judicial Watch argues the State Department acted in bad faith by releasing only four of Clinton's emails and attempted to close the case in 2014.

Mills and Samuelson immunity agreements. ACLJ Obtains Obama DOJ’s Immunity Agreements with Hillary Clinton Lawyers Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson to “Dispose” of Evidence and Refuse to Comply with Federal Law.

1. Mills were both witnesses and HRC's attorneys.

2. Comey was Director of the FBI at the time these agreements were made.

3. Can immunity agreements be used, knowingly, to cover up crimes and espionage?

#4  JohnQC, I don't quite understand what you're getting at. It's standard for a prosecutor to be aware of the crimes of a person before offering them immunity. That's kind of the whole point of offering immunity. If the prosecutor wasn't aware of the crimes, the offer wouldn't need to be made. Maybe I'm just missing the point you're making?

FISA court judge demands info about FBI lawyer linked to Carter Page warrant
[FOXNEWS] The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court’s presiding judge has sent another directive to the Justice Department, ordering officials to identify previous surveillance requests from an FBI lawyer linked to the 2016 warrant from former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

In an order unsealed Friday, Judge Rosemary Collyer asked the Justice Department to identify steps to ensure the accuracy of those filings and whether the unnamed DOJ lawyer was ever disciplined.

DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz recently identified in a scathing public report numerous mistakes and omissions in the warrant used against Page that launched the FBI investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Adam Schiff says 'it's hard to be sympathetic' to Carter Page amid FISA abuse revelations
[FOXNEWS] House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff
...Showboating U.S. Representative for California's 28th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, Schiff has served in Congress since 2001. He currently serves as the chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In a manner reminiscent of Joe McCarthy, on March 22, 2017, in a interview with Chuck Todd on MSNBC Schiff claimed there was “more than circumstantial evidence now” that Donald Trump's campaign colluded with Russia." Todd followed up by asking if he had seen direct evidence of collusion and Schiff responded that there was "evidence that is not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation"...
, D-Calif., is not expressing any remorse for former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, who was swept up in the yearslong Russia investigation. In an interview clip released on Friday, "Firing Line" host Margaret Hoover read quotes from Page about how the Russia probe had such a negative impact, including how the FBI spying into his life "ruined his good name" and that he will "never completely have his name restored."

"Do you have any sympathy for Carter Page?" Hoover asked.

"I have to say, you know, Carter Page came before our committee and for hours of his testimony, denied things that we knew were true, later had to admit them during his testimony," Schiff responded. "It's hard to be sympathetic to someone who isn't honest with you when he comes and testifies under oath. It's also hard to be sympathetic when you have someone who has admitted to being an adviser to the Kremlin."

"But then was also informing the CIA," Hoover pushed back.

"Yes, yes," Schiff acknowledged.

"Which we didn't know about," the host added.

The high-ranking Democrat stressed that Page was "apparently both targeted by the KGB" as well as "talking to the United States and its agencies." He also admitted that his ties to the CIA "should have been included" in the highly controversial Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) application process that Page was the subject of.

Earlier this month, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz uncovered 17 significant errors in the FISA applications the FBI had requested in order to surveil Page.

How Trump Won 2019
[FREEBEACON] President Trump ends 2019 in a better position than when he started. The year began with the swearing in of Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
as speaker of the House. The Mueller probe dragged on. The legislative agenda of Trump's first two years in office had petered out. The Democratic frontrunner, Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020...
, was beating him by double digits in the polls. A little more than halfway through the year, bond prices signaled recession.

Look where things stand now. Pelosi's decision to impeach Trump already has cost her a seat and stands zero chance of resulting in a Senate conviction. Not only has Mueller shuffled off the stage, but Michael Horowitz's report on FBI malfeasance also raises serious doubts about the credibility of the government and media elites who spent years arguing that Trump and his associates were Russian agents. Mitch McConnell blocks liberal bills from the House while confirming additional conservative judges. Biden is damaged and the problems of his candidacy manifest as he sleepwalks toward his party's nomination. The economy is gangbusters.

Nothing the Democratic majority has done has hurt Trump's approval rating. At this time last year, he stood at 42 percent approval and 52 percent disapproval in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. As I write, the RCP average of Trump's approval rating is 45 percent and disapproval is 52 percent. Trump's numbers are remarkably stable and closely track President Obama's at this point in his presidency. Biden began the year with big leads over Trump. Since then his margin has dwindled to 4 percent. And that's before Trump drops $1 billion in negative social media on him (or whoever the nominee is) next year.

Of course, Trump cannot say that he has been consistently popular. The opposite is true. And a 4-point victory for Biden still would be a victory‐though not necessarily under the rules of the Electoral College. What Trump can say is that efforts to remove him from office have failed, or are about to fail, and have not prevented him from delivering the disruptive change that his supporters desire. Trump's destiny is not to be a broadly popular president, if that is even possible anymore. He has been a consequential president. And may well be a reelected one.

Trump's opponents have contributed to his success ever since he became the focal point of our national life in 2015. He fashioned himself into a political bulldozer and rolled over decades-old dynasties, demolished Republican shibboleths, ground into dust codes of presidential behavior, and plowed through entrenched obstacles to conservative policymaking in the bureaucracy and courts. Throughout it all, he has benefited from the contrast between his policies and results on one hand and the possibility of the "bold, structural change" desired by woke Democrats on the other. He also has made the most of his adversaries' weaknesses: not just the character traits he turns into nicknames but the zealotry that manifests itself in overreach and radicalism.

  • In a tweet, Waters claimed: 'Revelation by former WH officials proves what we've known all along: Trump is #PutinsPuppet'
