Next Democrat Prez Candidate Debate 14 January 2020
2019-12-22
Good lord — they still have things to say?
[FiveThirtyEight]...the Democratic National Committee released the qualification rules for the seventh debate, which will take place on Jan. 14 in Iowa.

To qualify, candidates need to reach 5 percent support in at least four national or early-state polls, or 7 percent support in at least two early-state polls, from qualifying polling organizations released between Nov. 14 and Jan. 10. But candidates must also have at least 225,000 unique donors, including at least 1,000 donors in at least 20 states or territories. Based on what we know, five candidates have already made the January stage.

They are:

Biden
Buttigieg
Klobuchar
Sanders
Warren

Yang and/or Steyer might make it but the odds are against that

There are 3 additional Democratic Prez Debates Scheduled (7 Feb in NH, 19 Feb in Nev and 25 Feb in SCarolina). Viewership has been declining from ~33M for the first debate to ~6M for the most recent one. If this decline continues, the final debate will draw about negative 10 Million viewers.

#5  Are we witnessing the self-destruction of the Democrat Party? Kind of like the fall of the Berlin Wall?

#4  ^ they're desperate.

Half the party loathes Bernie-Squeaky Fromme, the other half loathes Biden, and every remotely intelligent member of the party knows that an incumbent president with a roaring, peacetime economy with 3.5% unemployment is impossible to defeat.

#3  WTF is the Amy Klobuchar appeal? She's a nasty side-mouth-talking unaccomplished POS who treats her staff like slaves

#2  Hey, someone ask them to make their tax returns public. I'm sure there's nothing dodgy in them, but let's have their party lead by example.

#1  14 Jan... wouldn't be MLK Day, would it?

Wonder whether anyone will be asked why ~35% of African-Americans support Nathan Bedford OrangeMan?

And that such support means that Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin are gone to the Orange Side, which means, effectively, it's Game Over?
