#1 But only white people from a country that abolished slavery 158 years ago need feel [white] guilt or owe reparations (even if they have no genealogical connection to anyone who ever owned slaves.)

#3 Dagestan is a Russian Federation republic, so as such a passport is required to enter/exit.

These slavers cruise rail stations looking for people who are trying to find work. They offer a lot of money, the slave agrees, they arrive in Dagestan, then their passports are taken from them.

The English word slave comes from Old French sclave, from the Medieval Latin sclavus, from the Byzantine Greek σκλάβος, which, in turn, comes from the ethnonym Slav, because in some early mediaeval wars many Slavs (from central Europa) were captured and enslaved.
