#3 This sort of thing is not as rare as you might imagine in eastern Europe.

I remember a friend who saw the movie The Deer Hunter, gave me a review that was simply, "Horrifying...Terrifying". I assumed he meant the Vietnam combat scenes. He said "No, the Russian wedding scene."
