Home Front: Culture Wars
The Original Minnesota Black Lives Matter Movement
Since Minnesota has been much in the news lately: I was rereading Allen Guelzo's great account of Gettysburg, and was reminded of these guys. 85% casualties on a suicide mission they knew was a suicide mission. An exaggeration to say that they saved the Union, but not by a whole lot. Then again, I'm sure that if one of our soy boys looked hard enough he could find an example of Private Swenson using a bad word before fixing his bayonet.
[Gettysburg.StoneSentinals] The 1st Minnesota Infantry performed one of the most critical actions of the battle during Longstreet’s Assault of July 2nd. Sickles’ Corps was falling back in disarray. Longstreet’s men were advancing to penetrate the center of the Union line, which had been dangerously thinned to prop up other sectors. General Hancock rode up to the 1st Minnesota, the only organized Union troops at hand, pointed at the advancing Confederates, and ordered them to "Take those colors!" Their sacrificial charge against overwhelming odds halted the Confederate advance. It bought desperately needed time for the center of the Union line to reform. the result was that Lee was forced into one last desperate gamble the next day with Pickett’s Charge.

Europe
Yankee go home: What does moving troops out of Germany mean?
[YNet] - After more than a year of thinly-veiled threats to start pulling U.S. troops out of Germany unless Berlin increases its defense spending, President Donald Trump appears to be proceeding with a hardball approach, planning to cut the U.S. military contingent by more than 25%.
“Nothing personal, guys. I made you an offer. You refused.”
About 34,500 American troops are stationed in Germany - 50,000 including civilian Department of Defense employees - the plan Trump reportedly signed off on last week envisions reducing active-duty personnel to 25,000 by September, with further cuts possible.

But as details of the still-unannounced plan trickle out, there's growing concerns it will do more to harm the U.S.'s own global military readiness and the NATO alliance than punish Germany.

The decision was not discussed with Germany, nor with any other NATO members - additionally, Congress was not officially informed - prompting a letter from 22 Republican members of the House Armed Services Committee urging a rethink.

"The threats posed by Russia have not lessened, and we believe that signs of a weakened U.S. commitment to NATO will encourage further Russian aggression and opportunism," Rep. Mac Thornberry of Texas wrote in a letter to Trump with his colleagues. Sen. Jack Reed.

...The suggestion that removing troops will punish Germany, however, overlooks the fact that American troops are no longer primarily there for the country's defense, said retired Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, who commanded U.S. Army Europe from 2014 until 2017.
To me it seems that the congressman and the general contradict each other.
...Trump indicated last summer that he was thinking of moving some troops from Germany to Poland, telling Poland's President Andrzej Duda during an Oval Office meeting: "Germany is not living up to what they're supposed to be doing with respect to NATO, and Poland is."

Duda has been trying to woo more American forces, even suggesting Poland would contribute over $2 billion to create a permanent U.S. base, which he said could be named "Fort Trump." In the current plan, at least some Germany-based troops are expected to be shifted to Poland.
Well, at least, the congressman can calm down now. As for the general, betcha the troops will find living in Poland much cheaper - especially the services of the, ahem, seamstresses.

So, let Poland annex Germany (they already took Silesia). Then our troops will be in Poland, not Germany. No relocation costs. (do I need to put a /sarc on that?)

When cost/benefit analyses raise questions about how much they should be getting, it starts to get...upsetting.

Germany doesn't see any threat from Russia. Otherwise they wouldn't have completed Nordstream 2.

The European idea is to neuter Russia by economic engagement. If they're not worried, why are we?

Bring the troops home. Close the bases. USA out of NATO.

BLM: Blood, Lies, Money
[American Greatness] - When its name is mentioned on the small screen or featured by the established media, the Black Lives Matter movement is treated as a populist uprising of black youth and their allies against the merciless boot of police repression. But there are organizations, many of them in fact, that are collecting money on behalf of BLM and then distributing those dollars in ways that would surprise the average Instagram warrior urging friends to give.

Of course, many of these donors are none too concerned about how that money is spent given that their motivation for chipping in is the expiation of their guilt for not being oppressed enough. And now that the spigots of guilt are flowing freely, there are numerous BLM copycat groups that have opened GoFundMe accounts and no one knows where that money is going. So if the reader is planning to donate to this slush fund for fake outrage, make sure it isn’t going to a guy in Vancouver raising cash for more Playstation games and Gatorade.

Shaun King, the Carrot Top of the civil rights movement, has been so defensive of what he does with fundraisers for the families of blacks killed by police like Tamir Rice that he has threatened legal action against (actual) black activists who criticize him. But there have been rumblings periodically from supporters of the BLM movement about what they see as the opaque and secretive nature of BLM the actual organization. Raheem Kassam and Natalie Winters recently published the news that BLM’s #DefundThePolice initiative organizes its donations through ActBlue, the national fundraising arm of Democratic campaigns including the presumptive presidential nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden. It may not be presentable to say in public, but honest observers cannot help but remark that this "civil rights movement" seems to be just as much about greenbacks as it is about black lives.

Fifth Column
Mercer: Scenes From The Sacking of America
[American Greatness] A mere day on, and the City of Seattle was de facto occupied territory, fallen to the "peaceful protesters"—the same counterculture media darlings who’ve been sacking cities across America.

The rabble—Black Lives Matter sympathizers, which, as police arrest records show are almost entirely locals—were further roused by Seattle City Council member Kshama Sawant, formerly of Mumbai.

The pied piper Sawant led the "peace makers" to occupy City Hall in downtown Seattle, on Tuesday, June 10.

The altercation between Council Member Sawant and Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan gives new meaning to the "broad" sweep of ideas in this dysfunctional city. Sawant, a socialist, called on Mayor Durkan, a progressive, to resign over abuse of power (what power?) and systemic racism (a meaningless abstraction). This, as the city was being sacked.

SURRENDER MONKEYS
As of this writing, the Seattle Police have surrendered without defeat.

Seven blocks of downtown Seattle, renamed the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" (CHAZ), have been appropriated by the "Peaceful Ones," with the imprimatur of the mayor and her police chief. Now loosed on the public, these buccaneering entrepreneurs are reported to have set up checkpoints to shake down residents who imagine they may come and go. Not in this satrapy!

On the positive side, Seattle now has that shithole-country vibrancy.

President of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, SPOG, penned an open letter to lunatic Mayor Durkan, pondering how he would fulfill his sworn oath of office to protect lives and property without so much as tear gas.

He got his answer. America got it, too. Across the United States, the message to law-abiding Americans from city, town, and county council members as well as other legislators came loud and clear: You’re on your own. Neither police nor politicians are coming to protect what’s left of your businesses or your banal, bourgeoisie little life.

Last I looked, there were 400,000 "guardian angels" in private security toiling to make up for the South African state’s failure to protect its people. Every year, millions in taxpayers’ money are forked out to private security firms in order to protect the new South Africa’s police stations. South Africa’s protectors, in other words, can’t protect themselves. Will Seattle’s neutered policemen be investigating this option? Is it time for them to cut the shafted taxpayers loose? Let us go private?

When all is said and done, the George Floyd riots are a law and order event. Nothing else matters in the overarching context of a failed state, in which ordered liberty is dead, and the law-abiding are utterly forsaken, even vilified.

Yes, victims are now villains and villains are martyrs.

Unbeknownst to Nikolas Fernandez, a gainfully employed security guard, the Capitol Hill district of Seattle now belongs to the "peaceful protesters." Fernandez dared to drive in that district, only to be mobbed by the barbarians and in the struggle forced to shoot an attacker. Legacy media quickly turned the narrative on its head. Fernandez, whose brother is a policeman, had invaded "peaceful protester" turf. His attacker took a bullet for peace. The attacker is now a hero.

KNEELING NINNIES
Next came the national kneeling. Once again, Washington state led the way. On June 1, after hundreds of looters ransacked major shopping malls in Bellevue, including the spectacular Bellevue Square, that city’s police chief, Steve Mylett, knelt down like a girl, instead of standing tall like a man for law and order.

Women perform much worse on IQ tests when they wear a revealing outfit
h/t Hot Air
[Daily Mail] - They are the go-to outfit for many women when they want to feel sexy and self-confident.

But could that favourite little black dress also be damaging to female brain function?

Research has revealed that women perform much worse on tests which measure reaction times and decision-making when they wear something tight and revealing, rather than something loose and comfortable.
Ah, that's why we're able to score!
Researchers from the University of Toronto found women were slower to respond to challenges and made poorer decisions.

#6  Testing conditions are probably incorrect.

I think if you take a bunch of college student volunteers with average bodies, and dress them up in sexy apparel for your test - this would be the result. The brain would be challenged by the social inadequacy being negotiated, and they wont be able to focus on stuff.

Intelligence is one thing, but the general confidence to apply it in a challenging moment comes from prolonged exposure and eventual proficiency in carrying your self.

Have the volunteers work out, get in shape, really fit them in those dresses and then ask them the questions. I'll wager they'll surpass their earlier best scores.

No matter what your stupid study concludes, even as statistic bound shrinks you'll have finally done someone some good.
Posted by: Dron66046 || 06/14/2020 11:00 Comments || Top||

#7  If the results reflect reality, the reason could be as simple as sexy clothes may be less comfortable than loose ones, and the underlying cause for lack of focus is physical discomfort.

#8  ^We know men think with their head, or their other head. No reason to think it's not the same for females, and - dressing sexy - may throw the switch.

#9  And how were the men’s scores who sat next to the revealing outfit test takers?

Back in the day, one of Mr, Wife’s chemical engineering profs graded on a curve. The first time they had an exam his study partner, who enjoys a decidedly feminine figure, sat down next to him and unbuttoned a few extra buttons to help reshape the results more in her favour. (Engineers — every action has logic behind it.) As the tests were being handed out, my darling lad leaned over and buttoned her up to her chin.

Whether this actually improved the results of the rest of the class, I have no idea.

Fifth Column
Have Trump's Threats Finally Put the Fear of God Into Seattle's CHAZ? Oh, Sorry, CHOP?
[PJMedia] The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ), the antifa/anarchist movement that illegally seized control of six city blocks in Seattle, Wash., appears to have changed its name after less than a week. Some CHAZzies have already started removing CHAZ signs and replacing them with signs reading the “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.”

Some have said they are “not seceding from the United States,” despite clear signs of an attempt at secession. They are now insisting that the original CHAZ signs were placed by “detractors.” Color me skeptical. While Mayor Jenny Durkan and Gov. Jay Inslee (D-Wash.) appear utterly feckless and unwilling to act, perhaps President Donald Trump’s warnings that he will restore order have driven the fear of God into these lawless rebels.

“There is a growing consensus to rename the area from the ‘Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone’ to the ‘Capitol Hill Occupied Protest.’ An occupier is trying to remove one of the CHAZ street signs,” Townhall’s Julio Rosas tweeted.

It seems no one is quite sure who exactly is in charge of CHAZ. In a scuffle Friday night involving whether or not to remove the signs reading “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone,” one woman asked, “Is anyone in charge here?” A man appears to have responded with something like, “This ain’t a damn democracy here!”

A Twitter account claiming to represent the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest gave a rationale for the change from CHAZ to CHOP. “Black Leadership has requested to stop calling it CHAZ as ‘Autonomous’ has specific implications and it is reported that Durkan and the media labeled it as such…Capitol Hill Occupied Protest = #CHOP.”

“That name CHAZ, we didn’t actually come up with. We’re not sure if it was detractors or people who tried to push a false narrative, but they definitely came in with that name, came in with signs, and they had nothing to do with that movement so far,” one black man in the movement said. “The conditions of us making a clear statement that we are CHOP is in order to push the narrative that this is not an autonomous zone. We are not trying to secede from the United States.”

Whatever name CHAZ settles on, its signs reading “You are now leaving the U.S.A.” could not be clearer in stating that the instigators were launching a rebellion. Local residents are insisting that their rights have been violated. Rebels appear to have engaged in a form of taxation without representation, using a shakedown racket to force local businesses to provide supplies. The rapper Raz Simone has reportedly installed himself as warlord because as one rebel of CHAZ put it, “he has all the guns.” Simone is reportedly attempting to enforce borders and prevent people from entering CHAZ without identification, although Simone himself disputes the “warlord” designation.

These are not the actions of a protest — they are the actions of a rogue state.

CHAZ is, to some degree, a rebellion aspiring to be a protest. The rebels seem more intent on changing American society than they are on setting up an autonomous state that will exist in perpetuity, but by declaring themselves outside the purview of the United States they are legally rebels.

In fact, Townhall’s Julio Rosas reported that a packet circulating in CHAZ presented suggestions about the way forward: “Permanently taking over the East Precinct, move the zone to another location, or to dissolve the zone completely.”

CHAZ can’t even decide whether or not it should exist.

#6  ☺ Aah. Yes, very beautiful. And way smarter than most actresses, Grom. Smart enough to settle down with a most decent young fellow at least.

Terrible time the poor kid went through before she got married. Pakistani dons and what not. My friend, who retired from the IB in 2009, had something to with bailing her out of it. He even wrote a book. She asked to leave her name out of it.

Here's a laugh riot, which you'll dig. I shook her hand once. All these actresses had come out to tie raakhis on our hands just after the Kargil War. It's a colored string sisters tie on a brother's wrist.

Some men were actually upset they were going to have to play brothers to Ash and Preity and Mahima and what have you. I remember the actual letter to Northern Command brass. It went something like this.

Sir,
The men of XV CORPS are indeed happy to welcome the performers and celebrities for the occasion of Rakshabandhan. This cantonement humbly requests you to reconsider the rakhi tying ceremony though, as it may not be good for the morale of the troops. Operational contingencies enable us to only allow for a brief exchange, and we wish each soldier can interact with the VIPs without taking away from...

What a sweet story, Dron. Surely some of the men thought to give their actress a sisterly teddy bear or something to remember him by. Or a challenge coin... Mr. Wife still has the one given to him years ago at the end of a training seminar by one of his fellow students, at the time the officer in charge of Lebanon for (reading from the thing) SOCCENT, US Central Command. Suspect involved in Christopher Columbus vandalism is teacher at Pawtucket Public Schools
[ABC6] One of the suspects involved in vandalism at the Christopher Columbus statue in Elmwood Avenue is a teacher at Pawtucket Public Schools who is now out on leave pending an investigation, according to the superintendent. Derrick Garforth, 34, was charged with desecration of grave/monument, which is a felony.

Around 1:30 a.m., on Saturday morning detectives noticed a man and woman getting out of a car and running across Elmwood Avenue towards Columbus square. The two began to splatter paint on the boarded up monument, according to police.

Both then fled across Elmwood Avenue towards Lexington Avenue.

Detectives saw both suspects enter the rear lot of the Feinstein School heading towards Ontario St. Detectives quickly drove to Ontario Street and were able to catch up to both suspects as they exited the lot.

Derrick Garforth, 34, and Charlotte Whittingham, 28, were both arrested. Police said Mackenzie Innis, 26, who was driving the car the suspects were in, was arrested also.

Some say 'Black Lives Matter' message hijacked by emergence of 'CHAZ'
Video can be seen at the link.
[KOMONews] As protesters continue to gather outside of the East Precinct in what’s now being called the "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone," there’s concern among some who have visited that the message behind Black Lives Matter has been hijacked.

The African American Community Advisory Council, which works with Seattle Police to facilitate discussion with officers and those they serve, came out to "CHAZ" Thursday evening in support of Chief Carmen Best. Multiple women spoke from the group, saying African Americans helped to build the precinct.

"Black lives do matter but there are also black lives that are police lives," one of the woman said at the intersection of 12th and E Pine. "They feel the same way that you do."

Throughout their attempts to convey their opinion to the crowd, they were met with boos and others grabbing microphones, talking over them.

"You guys need to sit down and have a conversation with the Seattle Police Department. They want to talk to you."

Those women also stated that protest’s core belief has been lost.

"The thing is, you have hijacked this! You have taken the meaning away!"

Tempers flared for a few minutes before things came to an end.

"Not everybody is going to have the same opinion!"

KOMO News spoke with the AACAC Chair, Victoria Beach, afterwards.

"We support our chief of police," said Beach. "We feel she’s been thrown under the bus. It was a cowardly move for the mayor to open up that street to all of the mayhem."

Beach compared what she’s seen at "CHAZ" to that of a festival, name dropping Burning Man, rather than a movement aimed for police reform.

"We’re going to keep our voices loud and clear. We’re going to be heard," said Beach. "How are we going to be heard if that’s happening? How are we going to come to the table and talk?"

Not long after they spoke, a rolling garage door at the East Precinct rolled up and nearly two dozen officers on bikes pedaled out. They were met by chants and expletives from protesters. The remaining officers inside eventually closed the door and protesters then went to the corner of 12th and E Pike to setup an enhanced barricade to keep them out.

For much of the night, the entirety of the gathering remained peaceful.

KOMO News reached out to Seattle Police to see why those officers were at the precinct but we have not heard back.

To get in line for 1GB StarLink sat service when it's available in your zip code.
Hit the title to get on the list.

Rural or suburban friends who want giga-bit data service - some estimate at $80/month (who knows?) , can sign up for notification when StarLink service is available in their zip code.

Eventually it should work to RVs, Boats, private airplanes and other like platforms. WiFi in the middle of a national park or on the high seas or in the air would be very nice.

They already have tested to near GB speeds into the cockpits of USAF planes...

Saturday morning they launched another 58 sats so soon they will be close to 1500 sats that would give some service everywhere on the planet. Now its close to 500 sats in orbit and a few less yet to go into service.

I would expect you not to get notified until they have 750 - 850 sats in service.

4) Skyping/Zoom to your relatives/buddies/associates from anywhere on the planet. Or if you have an I'Phone - facetime from the middle of the ocean or a park as the bear eats your family..
5) $80 for GB speed even at home is great. Much cheaper than Comcast or AT&T. My guess long term AT&T and Comcast shrink to city cores. Now think about the politics of this... AT&T owns CNN... Comcast owns NBC, MS-NBC, CNBC .... looks positive to me!

Posted by: rammer || 06/14/2020 14:45 Comments || Top||

#7  Yeah, it will probably eat cable internet, but 5G is gonna do that anyway. 5G is the real competition and has the advantage of not losing service because there is bad weather overhead as well not needing ground stations (>$1500 production cost as of now).

#8  Echoing Knuckles Javimble6283’s question about major storms — will the satellites be able to punch through weather that so regularly shut down service to DirecTV that we gave it up for whatever we have now.

but 5G is gonna do that anyway.

I was under the impression that we are so close to whatever comes after 5G that we’re going to simply skip over it. Am I wrong?
Posted by: trailing wife || 06/14/2020 16:54 Comments || Top||

#9  Starlink operates in the Ku (12-18GHz) and Ka (27-40Ghz) bands. Ku is what you see w/ DirectTV. Both bands are affected by resonance with water molecules (like your microwave oven). W/o looking at the data, my guess is Ka band is more effected, increases with frequency and requires higher power to punch through clouds.

6G won't arrive for at another 10 years or more and will use Terahertz (>100Ghz) radio waves. Antennas will have to ridiculously close together (atmospheric absorption) and probably not viable for satellite broadcast until you go over 200GHz.

There might be a (call it) 5.5G. Instead of using the Ku band, it could use the Ka band. The gives 2-3 times more bandwidth and with new encoding schemes bypass lots of the Chinese patents on 5G. Hypocritical that the greatest IP pirates of all time are so insistent on royalties on their patents.

Atlanta erupts after Rayshard Brooks death prompts police chief to step down

[FoxNews] Protests and destruction erupted in Atlanta on Saturday night in response to the police-involved shooting death of a 27-year-old man outside a Wendy’s fast-food restaurant.

Television images showed the restaurant on fire around 9:30 p.m. ET as rioters filled the parking lot where Brooks was shot in the back by police after allegedly grabbing a stun gun away from an officer during a struggle.

Smaller fires were also seen in the area.

Nearby, protesters were gathering along University Avenue, with Atlanta police blocking access ramps to Interstate 85, apparently to keep the protesters off the roadway, FOX 5 of Atlanta reported.

#4  Yeah, burn the restaurant down that had nothing to do with the shooting. That'll teach them. Idiots.

And if you watch the footage, the guy had been drinking, was passed out in his car, and the police were polite and even gentle with him at the start of the incident. Then the guy was resisting arrest with force, battery on a law officer, and evading arrest for a DUI, stole the taser from the police officer, and then shot the taser at the officer. He was no hero, no matter how much BLM wants to use him as such.

The City of Atlanta are going to lose the case - they fired the cop and he will win his lawsuit. Union will get him back. And any "murder" chage will not fly, not even manslaughter can be held. Guy has been drinking, resisted arrest, took a weapon from an officer, ran and fired it striking the officer and putting him out of the chase - so the pursuing office can assume the suspect is hostile, has shown willingness to engage the police with force, is suspected of a felony (DUI), and the officer believed that he was a threat and might have a weapon. #14  This sh*t has to stop! If it goes on much farther there will be bloodshed, and those of us who remember how revolutions were grown in the 50's see signs that this could escalate into real civil war, which is exactly what these Marxists want. The perfect storm of lockdown, a generation of college minds bent to socialism and ignorance, and blacks who are too ignorant to know the lies they have been led to believe as they see liberal programs that spend 22 trillion dollars end in abysml poverty, social wastelands, ruined families, hopeless young black men taught that racism explains their dismal futures, and a cowardly white middle class terrified and feeling powerless. This is not going to end well, but it needs to end now, by force, before it gets far more tragic and far more bloody. And above all, we must silence and prosecute the organizers and enthusiastic supports of this mess who see national chaos as a tool to limp SloJoe into the White House and power to return to the progressive, socialist agenda. Some are public officials, some are working this from their seats in China and Moscow.

  • Wife Tonieh Brisbane-Green said her husband flatlined twice and was placed in a coma after the incident

  • He's currently hospitalized, but stable and responding to neurological tests

  • Protesters during demonstrations have defaced Confederate monuments, which many believe are a reminder of racism and slavery

  • An investigation into the incident was opened and authorities are deciding if they will file charges

Girl killed as Saudi bulldozers demolish family home in Asir
[DAILYTIMES.PK] A Saudi girl has reportedly been killed as bulldozers destroyed her family home in the southern region of Asir.

The child has been identified as Noura from the governorate of Harajah. She died on Wednesday as several bulldozers were ordered to raze buildings alleged to have been constructed without permits.

A report yesterday revealed that Noura was killed while she slept in her home. Images of the slain child and video footage of the demolition circulated on Twitter, with the hashtag "Critical assaults kill the girl Noura" in Arabic being used to highlight the crime.

The incident has led to outrage in the kingdom, with many activists criticising local officials and the urban planning committee, calling for those responsible to be held accountable.

Public Prosecutor Sheikh Saud Bin Abdullah al-Moajab has apparently ordered an investigation into circumstances surrounding the girl’s death.

Phantoms and Tomcats on the prowl...
[The Aviationist] The Tu-95RT Bear-D variant performed a maritime surveillance and over-the-horizon targeting mission for other aircraft, surface ships and submarines. It was identifiable by a large bulge under the fuselage, which reportedly housed a radar antenna that was used to search for and detect surface ships. Decommissioned in the 1990s, they were based at Kipelovo (the base that currently hosts the Russian Naval Aviation Tu-142s). Starting from 1963-1964 as many as 53 Soviet Tu-95RTs performed the tasks of detecting carrier groups in the oceans, and the Soviet 392 ODRAP (separate long-range reconnaissance aviation regiment) was responsible for the Atlantic region. Aircraft were based other than Russia, in Cuba, in Guinea and Angola. Most of the known photos with Tu-95 intercepts are Tu-95RTs belonging to the 392th squadron.

Thanks to Dmitriy Ermolin and the FB page dedicated to Kipelovo airbase he administers, we are able to see the NATO interceptors dispatched to identify and escort the Soviet Bear-D aircraft during their long-range missions (the very same the Bear variants continue to fly nowadays) as seen from the cockpit of the Bears.

Antifa Faction Of Occupy Seattle Group Turns Violent – CHAZ Community Attacks and Chokes Christian Speaker
[ConservativeTreehouse] Things are slowly devolving into violent confrontation in the nation of CHAZ Seattle. However, the violence is not with law enforcement; the violence is internal as Antifa factions within the occupy movement begin doing what they are famous for, being violent.

An openly christian man walks into the occupied zone within Seattle, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone or CHAZ, to share the message of Jesus Christ. The Antifa elements immediately confronted the man, threw him to the ground and began choking him.

The Christian Preacher professed his own humanity and proclaimed he was a "free man", but the rulers within the CHAZ community would not accept his cries for freedom.

The Chazukstan mob surround the preacher, shouting at him, berating him, and eventually trying to beat him into submission. At one point they sat atop the preacher in the same choking position that killed George Floyd. No-one noticed the irony.

Trump reschedules campaign rally in Tulsa 'out of respect' for Juneteenth
[UPI] President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
announced he rescheduled his first rally since March in Tulsa, Okla., after receiving criticism for originally setting the event on Juneteenth.

The original date -- June 19 -- marks a holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. Between the timing and location, some critics saw the event as insensitive to African Americans, particularly as Black Lives Matter protests sweep the nation.

Tulsa is the site of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, a bloody event that killed up to 300 African Americans in the Greenwood District, known as "Black Wall Street" for its more than 300 black-owned businesses.

Trump announced on Twitter late Friday night that the rally date would be moved.

#11  Emancipation Proclamation was signed January 1, 1863. It was on June 19th, 1865 that Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the slaves there were now free.

"The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. This involves an absolute equality of rights and rights of property between former masters and slaves, and the connection heretofore existing between them becomes that between employer and hired laborer."

Apparently it took 2-1/2 years before the news was first given to the former slaves that they were actually now free.

England: Premier League players to wear 'Black Lives Matter' on back of shirts
[BBC] Premier League players' names will be replaced on the back of their shirts with 'Black Lives Matter' for the first 12 matches of the restarted season.

The Premier League will also support any player who chooses to 'take a knee' before or during matches.

Players in Germany have made gestures of solidarity with people protesting about the death of George Floyd.

"We, the players, stand together with the singular objective of eradicating racial prejudice," read a statement.

In a joint message from all 20 clubs, players added that they were committed to "a global society of inclusion, respect, and equal opportunities for all, regardless of their colour or creed".

A Black Lives Matter badge will feature on all playing shirts for the rest of the season alongside a badge thanking NHS staff for their work during the coronavirus outbreak....

Protester in Seattle’s CHAZ demands white demonstrators give out cash
[NYPOST] A protester in the police-free district set up by demonstrators in Seattle demanded that white demonstrators fork over $10 to their black counterparts.

A video, uploaded to Twitter Saturday, shows a man inside the city’s Capital Hill Autonomous Zone, or CHAZ, urging protesters to donate the cash.

"I want you to find by the time you leave this autonomous zone, I want you to ... to give $10 to one African American person from this autonomous zone," said the unidentified protestor speaking to dozens inside the area near the city’s East Precinct that was abandoned by police last week following two weeks of festivities after the death of George Floyd in police custody in Minneapolis last month.

"If you have a hard time giving $10 you got to think are you really down with this struggle, are you really down with the movement," he said. "If that is a challenge for you, I’m not sure you are in the right place."

The demand was met with cheers and applause from a crowd that had gathered at what appeared to be a baseball field.

Twitter restricts Iraqi militia leader's account
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Twitter Saturday "temporarily restricted" the account of Qais al-Khazali, leader of an Iran-backed Iraqi militia, for the second time in less than a year. Al-Khazali, the head of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq militia,
...one of the many Iranian sock puppet groups wandering round Iraq causing trouble...
had his account "temporarily restricted" last December because of "unusual activity," Twitter said at the time. On Saturday, the same message appeared on his account, warning visitors before they proceeded to his page.

Shortly before his account was temporarily restricted last year, a batch of US sanctions targeted al-Khazali and his brother Laith al-Khazali, another leader of the Asaib Ahl al-Haq.

[UPI] San Antonio police said they launched a manhunt for a man accused of shooting eight people outside a bar.

Police Chief William McManus said none of the victims was killed in the shooting late Friday in the parking lot of REBAR.

"They are all in stable, pH balanced condition, the most serious was someone hit in the back," he said.

Of the victims, five were women and three were men, and they were between the ages of 23 and 41. Six transported themselves to local hospitals and two others refused treatment.

McManus said the man was part of a group of about five people who were refused entrance to the bar because they appeared to be inebriated and one man carried a rifle. The suspected shooter allegedly said he was "a UFC fighter from Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,."

Police said they're working to identify people in the group and track down the suspected shooter.

Syrian Army strikes jihadist gathering in southern idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] A Syrian Arab Army (SAA) scout unit monitored the movements of a group of jihadists moving towards the front-lines in southern Idlib last night, resulting in a powerful attack by the military.

According to a field report from Idlib, the Syrian Arab Army witnessed around midnight, a number of jihadists from the Hurras al-Deen group gathering along the front-lines in al-Bara, as they prepared to launch a new attack on the military’s positions in the Jabal al-Zawiya region.

However,
the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything...
before they could launch this attack, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a heavy attack on the jihadists, killing and wounding several of these murderous Moslems.

The report said the jihadists quickly dispersed after this attack and were forced to abandon their planned raid on the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near the town of Kafr Nabl.

A source said recently that the Syrian Army units operating on the axes of Sahl al-Ghab and the Idlib countryside are in full readiness in anticipation of any emergency that these fronts may witness.

The Hurras al-Deen group is led by a Shura Council, which is dominated by Jordanian fighters and some Gulf members who fought in Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia and the Caucasus, and they have a long history of gunnies fighting in the ranks of Al Qaeda, including Jordanian Abu Jalibib, "Abu Tebas," Jordanian Abu Khadija, Abu Abdul Rahman al-Makki, Saif al-Adl and Sami al-Aridi. .

It's Going Down, Antifa. Uncle Sam Just Started Delivering Payback for Terror Riots
Key bits. More links, quotes, and tweets at the link. Just click on the headline and enjoy.
[PJMedia] The Department of Justice has filed what looks to be the first tranche of charges against violent antifa protesters from coast-to-coast following weeks of rioting following the killing of George Floyd by police. As Antifa itself would say, “it’s going down.”

From La Mesa, Calif., Minneapolis, Austin, and Dallas to Baton Rouge, Philly, St. Paul, and Tacoma, Wash., more than 50 people have been indicted on various charges.

Conspicuously absent in this wave of indictments is anyone from Portland, Ore., arguably the area most seeded with members of the group designated as domestic terrorists by the Trump Administration. Rioters there attacked the Justice Center. They were back Saturday night to finish the job.

No one from Seattle’s black bloc-outfitted terrorists or the Republic of CHAZ was named in these indictments, either.

CHARGES AGAINST ANTIFA
Attorney General Bill Barr and U.S. Attorneys across the nation charged suspects for more than 40 violent crimes, which CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge put out on Twitter.

Among the crimes being pursued are:

  • Crossing state lines for purposes of riot

  • Throwing Molotov cocktails

  • Torching cop cars

  • Looting gun stores and pharmacies

  • Online threats against cops

  • Arson

  • Shining lasers in eyes of police helicopter pilots

  • Bringing guns to a riot

, stated that it is not permissible to buy goods from the UAE, Jordan and Egypt, considering that every dollar paid to these countries is a "bullet in the chest of our children."

Al-Gharyani said in a fatwa published by the Libyan Dar al-Iftaa Facebook page on Friday, that it is not permissible to buy goods from the UAE, Jordan, Egypt or other countries that are hostile to the Ottoman Turkish-backed Government of National Accord (GNA).

He attributed this to the fact that "trading with them is strengthening for them, and every dollar we pay them is a bullet in the chest of our children."

The Libyan Grand Mufti has been outspoken about the UAE and Egypt providing aid to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and their commander, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly...

[DAILYTIMES.PK] Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism
... any action taken by a non-Moslem state that constrains the violent impulses of Moslems or their allies ...
on Saturday martyred four more youth in occupied Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
The troops martyred two youth each in South Kashmir’s Kulgam and during cordon and search operations. Indian police and troops sealed all entry and exit points of the areas and conducted an operation in the area. The authorities also suspended internet service in the districts.

There have been protests demonstrations in the restive region as Indian troops continued acts of state terrorism and have martyred 23 Kashmiri youth, including young boys, during cordon and search operations since June 1.

Indian police and troops have sealed all entry and exit points of the areas.

The occupation authorities have suspended internet service in the districts.

Judge Tosses Out Racial Hoaxer Jussie Smollett's Double Jeopardy Claim
[TOWNHALL] Actor and fake hate crime perpetrator Jussie Smollett
...Cable TV actor whose primary talents seemed to be being black and being homosexual. In a bid for national attention, he paid a pair of Nigerian brothers to rough him up a little so he could claim that two large, white, MAGA hat-wearing men had shouted This is MAGA country! while thumping him at 2:30am on a bitter cold night in Chicago and throwing bleach on him, presumably to lighten him up. The story quickly unraveled, and he became a laughingstock and the poster boy for pretend victimization and attention whoredom...
suffered a legal setback on Friday. A Cook County judge ruled that new charges filed against the actor do not violate Smollett's constitutional protection against double jeopardy. Back in Mar. 2019, there was bipartisan outrage after Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx abruptly dropped the original 16-felony-count indictment against the actor and wiped his record clean.

Following Foxx's recusal from the case -- text messages came to light showing Foxx had communicated with a powerful ally of the Smollett family -- a special prosecutor was appointed to the case. The new prosecutor secured a new six-count indictment charging Smollett with lying to coppers about a fake hate crime he claimed was perpetrated by supporters of President Trump.

The actor filed a police report claiming he was attacked in Jan. 2019 by two MAGA-hat-wearing thugs who wrapped a noose around his neck and shouted racial and homophobic epithets as they poured chemicals over his body. Smollett's hate crime turned out to be a complete hoax when the two so-called attackers revealed that Smollett had actually hired the duo to stage the fake attack.

Cook County Judge James Linn found that charges against Smollett were never adjudicated and that Smollett has no claim to double jeopardy protection against the new charges.

"There was no trial in this case, there was no jury empaneled, no witnesses were sworn, no evidence was heard, no guilty pleas were ever entered ... nothing like that ever happened," Judge Linn said, as reported by the AP.

Coronavirus survivor gets whopping $1.1 million hospital bill
[NYPOST] A 70-year-old Seattle man who nearly died from the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
got hit with another shock after he recovered: a $1.1 million hospital bill.

Michael Flor was so sick from COVID-19 that his wife and kids called him to say good-bye.

But he managed to pull through while being treated at Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah, the Seattle Times reported.

Then he got the sky-high bill for his care.

"I opened it and said ’holy [bleep]!’" Flor told the paper.

The invoice, totaling an eye-popping $1,122,501.04, ran 181 pages, including $9,736 for his room in the intensive care unit, plus an extra $408,912 because the space had to be sealed off and staff needed to wear full protective gear.

Many of the charges were for the drugs that kept him alive.

Flor has a Medicare Advantage insurance policy that normally covers all charges after the roughly $6,000 deductible, the paper reported.

Special financial regulations enacted by Congress for COVID-19 patients, however, might keep Flor from paying one red cent, the Seattle Times said.
So then the total amount, shocking as it is if one doesn’t think about the level of treatment he needed, isn’t actually meaningful to him.
Flor said he was surprised by his own reaction to beating the coronavirus.

"I feel guilty about surviving," he said. "There’s a sense of, ’why me?’ Why did I deserve all this? Looking at the incredible cost of it all definitely adds to that survivor’s guilt."

#5  Hospitals and labs (and Doctors) often inflate their bills.

..cause government refused to pay 'fair market price' (cause you know paying it would balloon up the costs to eat the entire budget and we can't stop talking about free Medicare for everyone if they understood they'd get Caracas healthcare and lifestyle). So they jack up the bill in an effort to make costs.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 06/14/2020 7:27 Comments || Top||

#6  There are several reasons the bill is higher with insurance and hospitals.

First, insurance takes a long time to pay. Small doctor offices can take six months or more to see a payment come in. A lot of time the claim is disputed too before it is resolved and payment comes in. Gotta make up money for that gap and man hours spent fighting for it, hence the larger bill.

Also every department in the hospital has to have their own administrative team due to government regulations.
Main hospital: billing, admissions, insurance
Surgeon: billing, admissions, insurance

Having to duplicate the same work that many times means the bill will be multiplied by that many times.

#4  Case count is meaningless, it can rise from something as simple as n increased number of tests Whats the hospitalization count and rate? Thats the main danger, are we overflowing the hospitals? If not then guess what? Flattening the curve worked. Thats what the qhole rationale is behind masks, distancing, etc. Reduce the rate of cases to something the healthcare system can deal with.

Panic and fear is what the press wants.

Four men arrested for killing world-famous gorilla in Uganda
[NYPOST] Four men face life in prison for killing Uganda’s most beloved gorilla, Rafiki.

The 25-year-old endangered silverback was one of only 1,004 mountain gorillas left in the wild and headed up a human-habituated family of 17 in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

He went missing on June 1 and his body was found a day later. A post mortem found Rafiki sustained an injury by a sharp device/object that penetrated its left upper part of the abdomen up to the internal organs, according to a statement by The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

"The death of Rafiki leaves the group unstable and there is the possibility that it could disintegrate," Bashir Hangi from the UWA told the BBC.

"It has no leadership at this time and it could be taken over by a wild silverback."

If that happened, the group would no longer have contact with humans — meaning a major loss in revenue for Uganda.

The Bwindi park makes millions from tourists hoping to catch a glimpse of the endangered animals — and due to the coronavirus (aka COVID19 or Chinese Plague)
...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men...
, Uganda lost $1.6 billion this year in revenue. Across Africa the tourism sinkhole has created a poaching boom, which scientists warn could fuel more pandemics.

#1  One would need a seriously large pot to poach a gorilla.

#2  A pack of gorillas is "unstable." Media tears ensue. Efforts to de-stabilize the biggest republic on the planet garners media cheerleading.

#4  "Rafiki raped my sister !"

"Why don't you make her wear man clothes ?"

"She does. He raped Babucho's father too. He's a sicko !"

"His father has long hair."

"What about Amin ? You have seen Amin ? Rafiki got fresh with him once. He had to bite him to get rid of him !"

"That bastard !"

"Who ?"

"Rafiki, of course !"

"He will pay !"
