Exercise Flintlock Follies - How NOT to exit the ramp (video)
[The Aviationist] Jumpers Execute Dangerous Exits, Ramp Strikes and Falls in One Jump Exercise.

Military static line parachuting is safe when practiced correctly, but minor mistakes can quickly turn a jump into a disaster. Take a look at these.

This video appeared on social media early this week from the Flintlock 2019 military exercise in the Sahel region of Africa. Whoever the unit is in the video- and no one is giving them credit (or blame...), they demonstrate about every aircraft exit mistake a static line parachutist can make short of actually forgetting to hook up their static line.

The video has disappeared from social media, but we managed to make a video of the video before it disappeared.

#3  I remember my father saying that with something like a Piper Cub you could trim it up to land slower than a typical parachute in the 1940's and 1950's. Now day's military aircraft will fall out of the sky if the computer poops thus more and more development of zero-zero ejection for the crew.

Caroline Glick: Germany’s Love Affair with Iran About More than Greed
With one hand Germany generously supports Israel’s military with very generously priced submarines for her navy and such. With the other hand, this:
[Breitbart] What is one to make of Germany’s love affair with Iran?

In a recent conversation with senior Trump administration officials, Breitbart News was told that the force behind the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
’s trenchant support for Iran is Germany.

#1  This article is very disurbing. Our allies—-Germany, France, and Great Britain. Our so called allies are cavorting with a bunch of fookin’ terrorist whoores who are the so called leaders of Iran. There are serious consequences of the big three so called allies actively subverting US policy. It is the responsibility of the President to deal with this. Do these three countries want to remain allies or not?

#11  Didn't the Germans have democracy imposed on them after WWI and WWII? Before that weren't they an autocratic monarchy? And before they were united, a bunch of smaller autocratic monarchies? Ilhan Omar's Anti-Jewish Views Are Typical For Democrats' Congressional Black Caucus
[The Federalist] A House vote on a resolution to condemn anti-Semitism met fierce pushback from various factions within the Democrat Party this past week, leaving many to contemplate at what precise point in politics the condemnation of anti-Semitism became a controversial notion. We couldn’t agree last week that allowing a breathing, injured baby to be denied the care of a hospital was criminal. Apparently, we also can’t agree that hating Jews is despicable.

As David Marcus of The Federalist remarked darkly, "Hatred of the Jews is nuanced." As the Democrats’ indulging of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) reveals, perhaps to the left it is. Or, more perniciously, what we have witnessed this past week is a highly public fight for the soul of the Democrat Party, a sort of forced reckoning with the wildly left elements of the party that seem intent on dragging the party to the depressing depths of their ideology.

The Democrats’ internal fight over the anti-Semitism resolution reveals a stark picture of the competing factions vying for control over the party’s agenda. Those most opposed to the resolution, the farther left members of the House, as well as key members of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC), have expressed outrage at the resolution, bemoaning that it "targets" Omar. Nowhere in the entire document does Omar’s name appear once.

Although her commentary inspired the document, the political resistance’s hubris in believing that she is the only anti-Semite in Congress is laughably ignorant. There is something deeply and inexorably wrong when one of America’s major political parties cannot condemn hatred of the group that is subjected to the majority of religious hate crimes in this country.

VDH: The Swamp Fights Back
[National Review] Trump was warned by friends, enemies, and neutrals that his fight against the deep state was suicidal. Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer, just a few days before Trump’s inauguration, cheerfully forecast (in a precursor to Samantha Power’s later admonition) what might happen to Trump once he attacked the intelligence services: "Let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community ‐ they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you."

Former administrative-state careerists were not shy about warning Trump of what was ahead. The counterterrorism analyst Phil Mudd, who had worked in the CIA and the FBI under Robert Mueller, warned CNN host Jake Tapper in August 2017 that "the government is going to kill" President Donald Trump. Kill? And what was the reason the melodramatic Mudd adduced for his astounding prediction? "Because he doesn’t support them." Mudd then elaborated: "Let me give you one bottom line as a former government official. The government is going to kill this guy. The government is going to kill this guy because he doesn’t support them." Mudd further clarified his assassination metaphor: "What I’m saying is government ‐ people talk about the deep state ‐ when you disrespect government officials who’ve done 30 years, they’re going to say, ’Really?’"

It was difficult to ascertain to what degree Mudd was serious or exaggerating the depth of deep-state loathing of Trump.

A writer for the London Review of Books, Adam Schatz, seemed even more direct. He reported a supposed conversation that he had with an American political scientist knowledgeable of the Washington permanent caste. He purportedly had assured Schatz that if Trump were elected, he would likely not survive his full term: "He will have to be removed from power by the deep state, or be assassinated."
They are living in too insular a community if they think much of D.C. would survive his assassination. I hope to hell they are not that stupid! That said, they have not been showing a lot of sense. Hubris seems to be their mantra.

#4  This follows right into Corsi's narrative that the US military was about to dispose of Obama and run the government until it could be brought back under control. When Trump sent the 4 Ospreys full of Marines to the CIA headquarters and they left with multiple computers he bought himself an insurance policy.

#8  Much has accomplished in Trump's 2-1/2 years. Much of the corrupt whacka-doodle leadership in the FBI and the DOJ has been removed. Trump is the greatest threat I've ever seen to the deep state--exactly the reason he was elected. He has hurt entrenched people financially and by taking away their power. Many things had to be done to set the stage to get to this point. Let's see what comes next. One doesn't rush changes and justice without resulting in a lot bloodshed.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Islamic Jihad is the real threat from Gaza
From Friday.
[Ynet] While Israel is busy negotiating ways to calm tensions in the coastal enclave, it would do well to pay attention to the organization that does not listen to Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®, and is only trying to make the situation worse.

Islamic Jihad was responsible for most of the rocket, anti-tank missiles and sniper attacks carried out in recent months against Israel.
On Tuesday morning, a delegation of Egyptian intelligence officers arrived at Ben-Gurion Airport, headed by the chief of the "Paleostine Department," General Omar Halfi. The group of Israeli officers waiting for them drove them directly to the Defense Ministry's Tel Aviv headquarters for talks with the upper echelons of the defense establishment, in an attempt to find a way to reduce the growing tensions in the Gazoo Strip, ahead of an kaboom of violence.

The Egyptians came up with a list of Israeli commitments to improve living conditions in Gazoo: water, electricity, expanding fishing areas, increasing the amount of goods coming from Israel, and so on. But the following day, when the Egyptians went to Gazoo with the Israeli proposals in hand, it became clear that they were insufficient.

'We Must Resist Trump!' Cries Woman Whose Life Hasn't Changed In The Slightest Since Trump Was Elected
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐ During an International Women's Day protest Friday, local woman Jenny Martin declared, "We must resist Trump!" even though her life hasn't changed in the slightest since Trump was elected.

"We cannot let this become the new norm!" shouted the woman whose life was just about the same as it was under Obama.

"Hate is the new norm, and we can't stand for this!" she cried, though she'd not personally witnessed any acts of extreme hate during Trump's time in office. "Women, we must band together to resist this regime that has totally devastated all of womankind by not really changing our lives much at all!"

She pointed out that Trump's "reign of terror" has included horrible oppression for women, such as better and more frequent employment opportunities, higher wages, and a stronger economy. "Trump is literally oppressing all of us by making us more prosperous and privileged, turning us into the very thing we hate!"

"Resist! Resist!" she chanted through a megaphone.

At publishing time, Martin had reluctantly confirmed that her life had in fact gotten marginally better over the past two years

American carnage is real
[Washington Examiner] President Trump began his presidency uttering the phrase "American carnage," and the commentators scoffed. Every month, it seems, we get new evidence that the carnage is real.

More Americans are dying of despair now than during any time in history, a new study finds. Suicide rates are climbing. Alcohol deaths are, too. The picture on drugs is even worse, with overdose deaths tripling in the past 20 years.

These numbers highlight how off-base was the reaction to Trump’s line in his inaugural address. "Trump gives us 'American carnage,’" wrote New York Times editor Andrew Rosenthal, as if these problems didn’t exist without Trump. The Times editorial that day chastised Trump’s "fantastical version of America."

"With sweeping exaggeration," the editors wrote, "Mr. Trump spoke of ’carnage.’"

Of course, the carnage isn’t merely in the inner cities. Hidden in the new death data from the Trust for America’s Health is a telling correlation. The states with the highest and fastest-rising suicide rates include Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. The states with the lowest rates include Maryland and New Jersey. Roughly, suicide in America seems inversely proportional with population density.

Put another way, isolation is killing us. The rise in opioid usage can be blamed on a similar phenomenon: "social vacancy," as one West Virginia newspaperman put it. "People don’t feel they have a purpose."

This highlights a weakness in the bipartisan elite consensus on the economy that existed before Trump crashed onto the scene: If free trade, subsidized trade, heavy regulation, and immigration policies aimed at maximizing the availability of low-skilled labor were bad for the working class, well, we could make it up to them with a more generous safety net.

But welfare and no work didn’t lead to healthy inner cities in the 1970s and 1980s, and it’s not leading to healthy rural counties today. As happened in the inner cities decades ago, rural America is seeing men drop out of the labor force and out of family life ‐ marriage is falling, and out-of-wedlock births are increasing.

#1  >suicide in America seems inversely proportional with population density

progressivism (taxing incomes not capitalist taxes on land title) artificially inflates population density (for the benefit of the neo-feudalist establishment).
Posted by: Bright Pebbles || 03/10/2019 9:28 Comments || Top||

#2  Neo-feudalism or new feudalism refers to a theorized contemporary rebirth of policies of governance, economy, and public life reminiscent of those present in many feudal societies, such as unequal rights and legal protections for common people and for nobility.

Posted by: Herman Fillmore3942 || 03/10/2019 13:28 Comments || Top||

#3  The modern progressive is not the person described in the encyclopedia Britanica, which I have appended below. The progressive of today only cares about the tiny elite. They are Senators, Congress Persons, lawyers and the moneyed elite.

“the progressives sought to come to terms with the extreme concentration of wealth among a tiny elite and the enormous economic and political power of the giant trusts, which they saw as uncontrolled and irresponsible.”
Posted by: Herman Fillmore3942 || 03/10/2019 13:37 Comments || Top||

#4  Scattered, quiet, tragic, whimpering deaths in private places don't make the kind of headlines our mainstream media wants.
