Cheesehead Agri-battery: Stepdad's Drinks Were Spiked With Cattle Tranquilizer
[Smoking Gun] MARCH 4--A Wisconsin teenager accused of injecting cattle tranquilizer in his stepfather’s energy drinks thought his actions were "funny" and would not harm the victim, according to police who arrested the minor on a pair of felony charges.

Investigators allege that Tyler Rabenhorst-Malone, 17, adulterated his kin’s drinks last year. The teen, cops say, used a sedative often administered to cows giving birth. The victim, a dairy farmer, had stored the drug in a barn.

According to a criminal complaint, after Rabenhorst-Malone first spiked his stepfather’s drink, the victim was left stumbling and suffering slurred speech, a droopy face, and heavy breathing. Doctors at a Madison hospital concluded that the symptoms were a result of stress, lack of sleep, and the victim’s consumption of energy drinks.

The odd symptoms returned months later, prompting the victim to conclude that Rabenhorst-Malone was "messing with him." As a result, the man no longer left his drinks unattended. In conjunction with his increased vigilance, the victim’s symptoms disappeared.

#1  I'm a big Blue Oyster Cult fan. In an interview, Buck Dharma tells a story I love: They were at CBS Records for an audition, but the A&R man "took what he thought was acid, but it turned out to be a hog tranquilizer," according to the guitarist. They decided to play anyway since they were all set up. Harry Nilsson was coming down the hall and heard them playing, so he stopped in to listen. With no authority to do so, he signed them to the contract they released their first three albums on...

FBI chief: Foreign influence campaigns continually targeting US
[The Hill] FBI Director Christopher Wray warned Tuesday that foreign nations are still engaging in disinformation campaigns on social media to stir an already tense political pot in the U.S.
Smart dresser, but that may well be where smart ends.
Speaking at the RSA cybersecurity conference in San Francisco, Wray said that while no influence campaign had yet made a "material impact on election infrastructure," the efforts on social media have continued "virtually unabated," according to CNN.

Wray pointed to Russia, Iran, China and North Korea as waging broader cyber threats "unlike anything we have had in our lifetimes."

"The thing that most shocked me was the breath and the depth and the scale of the Chinese counterintelligence threat," he added, according to CNN.

Wray noted that the FBI has been aligning with social media companies to prevent influence campaigns from spreading online, saying the cooperation has been a "great example of how the government and private sector can work together in a common defense."

Malicious digital activity from foreign governments and entities was thrust into the spotlight in 2016 after it was revealed that Russians waged a sophisticated social media campaign to spread false information and stoke tensions online over hot-button issues.

At the overt level that’s called diplomacy. Covertly, it is spying, and those engaged in it can be shot on sight. And, as it was known before the 2016 campaign to be occurring — not to mention a few major Democratic party donors engaging in their own disinformation campaigns on the side in both 2016 and 2018 — it’s past time to look closely at the Obama administration people who should have stopped it but chose to say and do nothing about it.

DRT National Emergency a 'Hoax' But Number of Families Apprehended at Border Continues to Explode
[Free Beacon] U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents apprehended more than 70,000 people in February, the majority unaccompanied children or families, the agency announced Tuesday.

This figure is the highest monthly total at any point in at least the past five years, lending credence to President Donald Trump's ongoing claim that America is experiencing a "crisis" at its southwestern border.

"We are currently facing a humanitarian and national security crisis along our southwest border. The vast increases in families and children coming across our border, in larger groups and in more remote areas, presents a unique challenge to our operations and facilities, and those of our partners, including the NGOS who work to assist these individuals and families throughout their immigration proceedings," said CBP Commissioner Kevin K. McAleenan.

More than 36,000 "family units" (i.e., children and parent/guardians traveling together) were apprehended trying to cross the southwestern border between ports of entry; a further 4,000 were apprehended at points of entry. That total means that more family units attempted to cross the border illegally in February than at any point since the government began tracking the relevant data.

8-year-old boy punched by stranger inside subway station
[NYPOST] An 8-year-old boy was punched in the head by a violent stranger with "blotchy" skin and an injured eye inside a Financial District train station, police said Tuesday.

The Brooklyn boy was standing with his mother inside a waiting train at Fulton Street station near William Street around 8:40 p.m. Monday when the stranger approached.

Without uttering a word, he punched the child in the back of the head before fleeing, police said.

The victim was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police describe the attacker as approximately 50 years old, 6 feet 2 and 200 pounds. Cops also said he has a "blotchy complexion, an injured right eye, a salt and pepper beard and hair."

4-year-old boy playing with neighbor’s Husky gets arm ripped off
[NYPOST] Authorities in Utah say a Husky attacked a 4-year-old boy, ripped off his arm and presumably swallowed the now-missing limb, according to reports.

The child, whose identity hasn’t been released, wanted to play with his neighbor’s two Huskies Sunday afternoon in Layton and stuck his arm underneath a chain-link fence, news station KUTV reported.

The boy had a sock on his right arm when one of the dogs bit into his forearm and tore off the appendage about three inches above the wrist, officials said.

Emergency responders were able to locate the Husky, but weren’t able to recover the boy’s arm or hand.

"We’ve not found it in the backyard," Layton Fire Battalion Chief Jason Cook told KSL.com. "Our fear is that it may have been ingested by the dog."

The boy was airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital in serious, but stable condition, according to officials.

Papa John’s reaches settlement with Papa John
[NYPOST] Papa John’s International has reached a settlement agreement with its founder, John Schnatter, a filing on Tuesday showed, signaling an end to the acrimonious battle between the pizza chain and its former chairman.

The company said it would cooperate with Schnatter to identify a mutually acceptable independent director, who would not be affiliated with hedge fund Starboard Value LP or Schnatter.

Early last month, Papa John’s snubbed Schnatter and accepted an investment of up to $250 million from Starboard value LP in return for a nearly 10 percent stake, while naming the hedge fund’s chief executive officer Jeffrey Smith as its chairman.

Schnatter, who owns about 30 percent of the company’s share, would resign from the board, if the independent director is appointed before the 2019 annual stockholder meeting, Papa John’s said.

Meanwhile, Schnatter has agreed to dismiss two lawsuits: one against the company in the Delaware Chancery Court without prejudice and one in Jefferson County, Kentucky, related to a sublease agreement with prejudice, the company said.

Britain
The UK is about to make it harder to watch porn
[NYPOST] Free porn fans in Britain are about to get carded.

Beginning early next month, X-rated sites like PornHub and YouPorn will be required to obtain birthday information from UK residents before they can view smut by using an online age verification system, or buying a special ID card, according to The Metro.

“When a user first visits a site protected by AgeID, a landing page will appear with a prompt for the user to verify their age before they can access the site,” AgeID spokesman James Clark told the outlet.

“Each website will create their own non-pornographic landing page for this purpose,” he added.

When users first visit a site, they will have to create an AgeID account using a credit card, passport or driver’s license.

China-Japan-Koreas
North Korea restoring part of launch site it promised to destroy
Same old dog, same old tricks.
[Aljazeera] North Korea has restored part of a missile launch site it had begun to dismantle after pledging to do so during the first summit with US President Donald Trump last year.

South Korean legislators briefed by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) said the work was taking place at the Tongchang-ri launch site, Yonhap news agency reported on Wednesday.

Satellite images seen by 38 North, a Washington DC-based North Korea project, showed structures on the launch pad had been rebuilt sometime between February 16 and March 2, Jenny Town, managing editor at the project and an analyst at the Stimson Center think-tank, told Reuters news agency.

The news comes days after a second summit on denuclearisation between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un broke down over differences on how far North Korea was willing to limit its nuclear programme and the degree of US willingness to ease sanctions.

China to Raise Defense Spending by 7.5%, Lower than 2018
[AnNahar] China announced Tuesday a 7.5 percent increase in military spending in 2019, lower than last year as the country faces an economic slowdown, but still likely to make Asian neighbors nervous.

It it working to provide the two million-strong People's Liberation Army (PLA) with state-of-the-art hardware, spending heavily on stealth warplanes, aircraft carriers and other weaponry.

Beijing has also stepped up its rhetoric against any independence movements in self-ruled Taiwan and continues to assert its vast territorial claims in the disputed South China Sea and East China Sea.

The government will spend 1.19 trillion yuan ($177.6 billion) on defense in 2019, after it increased its outlay by 8.1 percent to 1.11 trillion yuan in 2018, according to a government report presented at the start of the annual meeting of the National People's Congress (NPC).

Boasting the world's largest army, China's military spending is second only to the United States, which budgeted $716 billion for defense in 2019. Beijing has not posted double-digit spending increases since 2015.

The Communist-led government will make "further efforts to ensure the political loyalty of the armed forces," Premier Li Keqiang said in a speech to the nearly 3,000 members of parliament, stressing the "absolute party leadership" over the military.

South Korea sees signs North Korea restoring part of missile launch site: Yonhap
[AlAhram] South Korean intelligence agencies have detected signs that North Korea is restoring part of the Dongchang-ri missile launch site it tore down, Yonhap News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Specifically, Yonhap said the closed-off country, under pressure for years to discontinue its nuclear program, is putting back a roof and a door on the facility.

South Korea’s National Intelligence Service also said during a briefing for the National Assembly’s intelligence committee that "the U.S. information is the same as ours," according to Yonhap.

last week broke down over differences on how far North Korea was willing to limit its nuclear program and the degree of U.S. willingness to ease sanctions on the country.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Monday he was hopeful the United States would send a delegation to North Korea in the coming weeks.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in called for officials to try to find a way to restart talks between the North and the United States.

The breakdown of the summit was a blow for Moon, who had hoped eased U.S. sanctions would help lead to a restart of inter-Korean projects including a factory park, key to his vision for a pan-peninsula economic community.

New patriotic Greek party wants higher birth rates and to protect Europe from Islamic colonisation – Interview
[Voice of Europe] In my series of articles on the new conservative parties likely to take seats in next year’s EU elections and in their own countries’ internal elections, this column focuses on my friend and great patriot, Failos Kranidiotis of Nea Dexia (the New Right).

I first met Failos and his colleagues when they applied to join the ENF’s pan European party, the Movement for Nations and Liberty (MENL).

I travelled to Athens for the first time, a wonderful city with so much history and a place where Europeans owe so much to the founding of democracy.

In the shadow of the Acropolis I met these wonderful people, trying to wrestle their great country from the grip of socialism, the Troika and an old and tired conservative party and from the failed policies of the EU to Make Greece Great Again.

Right-wing populist Estonian Conservative People's Party surges in general election
[Voice of Europe] The bullies in Brussels are shaking in their boots once more as yet another national populist party, this time the Estonian Conservative People’s Party (EKRE), made significant gains in a national general election.

Preliminary results from the completed ballot count of Estonian’s general election revealed that the center-right Reform Party received 28.8 per cent of the vote, while the senior partner in the governing coalition, the Center Party, garnered 23.1 per cent of the vote.

The national populist Estonian Conservative People’s Party (EKRE) took 17.8 per cent of the vote, which is more than twice the votes that it received in the previous election. EKRE now holds 19 seats in the 101-seat Riigikogu, and represents the third largest party in the country.

This comes just three months ahead of the European Parliamentary elections when voters across the continent will head to the polls to elect representatives in the EU parliament. Across Europe, nationalist and populist parties have made significant electoral gains in recent years.

National populist parties have now taken hold of political power in Italy, Austria, Hungary, Poland, and the Czech Republic, while in others countries like Germany and France, they have become the primary opposition voice. Those who have yet to gain a political foothold have forced centrist leaders to veer to the right.

Belarus leader wants closer ties to NATO, Western nations
[Miami Herald] MINSK, BELARUS - The authoritarian president of Belarus on Tuesday called for better ties with NATO and lifted restrictions on U.S. diplomats, an apparent bid to win concessions from Moscow by dangling the prospect of rapprochement with the West.

Alexander Lukashenko's statement on NATO follows a decision by his main sponsor and ally, Russia, to charge a higher price for its oil supplies to Belarus.

"If they shut doors to us, we will search for another way," Lukashenko said, adding that Belarus will seek to develop ties with the West and establish relations with NATO.

Lukashenko has ruled the ex-Soviet nation of 10 million with an iron fist for nearly a quarter-century, relentlessly cracking down on dissent and free media. He has relied on loans and cheap energy from Russia to keep his country's Soviet-style economy afloat.

Trump moves to end special trade treatment for India
[DAWN] US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
has announced plans to end special trade treatment for India, while accusing the country of unfairly shutting out US businesses, CNN reported on Tuesday.

Trump wrote a letter to the US Congress on Monday signalling his intent to remove India from the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) ‐ a programme that provides developing countries an easy access to the US market.

The GSP lowers duties on exports to the United States for 121 developing countries. According to CNN, India was the biggest beneficiary of the program in 2017.

Indian government "has not assured the United States that it will provide equitable and reasonable access to the markets of India," CNN quoted the letter as saying.

American Woman Who Divorced Saudi Business Man Now Stuck in Magic Kingdom
[MAIL] An American woman who divorced her Saudi businessman husband is now trapped in the country with their young daughter because of the Kingdom's restrictions on women.

Bethany Vierra, who is originally from Washington state, has been living in Saudi Arabia since 2011 when she moved there to teach at a women's university, the New York Times reports.

The now 31-year-old met her future husband there and they married in Portugal in 2013. They have a four-year-old daughter together.

They got a divorce last year after their relationship broke down and Vierra claimed her husband was emotionally and verbally abusive towards her.

Since the divorce, Vierra's family say she has been stuck there because of Saudi Arabia's strict guardianship system.

The system means Saudi women are often only as free as their male 'guardians' - which can include husbands, fathers or other male relatives - allow them to be.

Women have to receive formal permission from the male guardians to study, get married or even renew their passports.

Vierra is a dual Saudi-American citizen.
Sorry mam, that duel citizen baloney is not recognized here.

There were numerous similar stories of this type of issue with previous women so having empathy is a challenge. Having the baby will cause additional compilcation. I wish her well but she would be very lucky to get out with her child any time soon.

Government
Company offers to build 234 miles of border wall for $1.4 billion
[Washington Examiner] A U.S. company is offering to build 234 miles of President Trump's border wall for just $1.4 billion, a fraction of the $8 billion the Trump administration is hoping to use for that project.

Fisher Sand and Gravel Company's President and CEO Tommy Fisher said the government is overpaying and that for $4.31 billion, he can build the wall and incorporate paved roads and border technology plus warranty.

"Our whole point is to break through the government bureaucracy," Fisher told the Washington Examiner. "If they do the small procurements as they are now ... that’s not going to cut it."

Of the $8 billion Trump is hoping to spend, he already has $1.375 billion of that amount from Congress, which can only be used to build fencing in the Rio Grande Valley. Trump is seeking to repurpose another $3.1 billion in defense funding for more border wall and $3.6 billion more through his emergency declaration that Congress and the courts will challenge.

Fisher said that the roughly $1.4 billion is enough to build 20 miles of levee wall in the Rio Grande Valley, plus another 214 miles. That pot of money, however, can only be used in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the bill Congress passed approving those funds and was only expected to be used for about 55 miles of steel slat fencing.

As for the border, I think in the end we'll have to deploy Ma-deuce in quantity, with no restrictions on rules of engagement. Nothing else will work. You have to make it painful. A dozen rounds of 50-caliber ammunition might JUST be painful enough.

Louisiana Suspends Abortionist's License
[Free Beacon] Louisiana suspended the medical license of an abortionist, who allegedly practiced despite failing to be certified as an OBGYN.

The Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners has suspended the license of Dr. Kevin Govan Work for the second time since 2015. The Board deemed the allegations against Work serious enough to warrant "emergency action" and immediate suspension, rather than allow him to continue to practice during the proceedings. Dr. Work, a New Orleans abortionist, will not be able to practice until a formal investigation is completed.

"Emergency action is imperative to safeguard the public health, welfare and safety," the board said in a Feb. 26 notice.

The Washington Free Beacon was unable to contact Dr. Work. His old office lines at three separate locations in New Orleans have been disconnected. Emails sent to addresses associated with the doctor went unreturned.

A Board spokesman said that it does not comment on any pending investigations.

San Diego council votes 8-1 to wipe out parking requirements in neighborhoods near transit
[SanDiegoUnionTribune] San Diego took a step toward becoming a less car-reliant city on Monday when the City Council voted 8-1 to eliminate parking requirements for new condominium and apartment complexes in neighborhoods near mass transit.

Supporters say the new policy will make housing cheaper by eliminating antiquated rules about parking that fit poorly in a city where many residents are more inclined to use mass transit, bicycles or ride-booking services like Uber and Lyft.

The plan also aims to help the city meet the goals of its legally binding climate action plan, which requires more people to commute by bicycling, walking and transit in order to reduce greenhouse gases.

#5  California politicians have been talking about affordable housing, and the lack thereof, for as long as I can remember and yet housing in California's coastal communities is more expensive now than it ever has been. The housing crisis of which they speak is every bit as much of a hoax as global warming or climate change or whatever they're calling it these days and invented for the same purpose: to use as an excuse to control peoples' lives and create graft. If you can't afford to live in San Diego, my advice is to try your luck somewhere else.
