Judicial Watch: Defense, State Department Documents Reveal Obama Administration Knew that al Qaeda Terrorists Had Planned Benghazi Attack 10 Days in Advance
Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained more than 100 pages of previously classified "Secret" documents from the Department of Defense (DOD)and the Department of State revealing that DOD almost immediately reported that the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was committed by the al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood-linked "Brigades of the Captive Omar Abdul Rahman" (BCOAR), and had been planned at least 10 days in advance. Rahman is known as the Blind Sheikh, and is serving life in prison for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other terrorist acts. The new documents also provide the first official confirmation that shows the U.S. government was aware of arms shipments from Benghazi to Syria. The documents also include an August 2012 analysis warning of the rise of ISIS and the predicted failure of the Obama policy of regime change in Syria.
Just finishing up "13 Hours." This revelation gives it additional poignancy.

#6  It's more likely that Stevens was supervising than obstructing.

Doubtful, at least based on the vast amount of open-source intel. My take is that Stevens was picked for the ambassadorial position primarily due to his contacts with various factions in the Libyan rebellion. Given the US Embassy in Tripoli's response during and after the attack, I'm not sure even he had any control or influence over operations in Benghazi.

#9  I obviously have no 'inside knowledge' KBK, so anything I say is purely speculation based on past observations. That being said, please think in terms of trainers and advisors, a weapons expert or two, possibly a Case Officer and source recruitment guy, possible two or three, linguists, liaison, and communications personnel, intelligence and security nugs. Probably a bit heavy on the security nugs in this instance. Some of these folks could easily be multi-hatted. It's what they do.

#10  Alternatively, consider the meeting with the Turkish ambassador in the hours prior to the attack, the temporary nature of the embassy facility and security arrangements, the solidity of the annex, the presence of former SOF (under contract,) the seeming inability of the Libyan Transitional Government to respond, the corresponding seeming inability of the US embassy (and the USG) to react, et cetera.

[DAWN] Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that banned

Liberation Army, are fighting along with dacoits in the katcha area of Ghotki with the police who have launched an operation against criminals.

He said this while speaking at a presser here on Sunday after presiding over a meeting regarding law and order in the Sukkur region with the commandant of Rangers, the deputy inspector general of police, deputy commissioners and senior superintendents of police.

The CM said that in the Ghotki operation, criminals were equipped with modern weapons while the police were using old weapons. He said he had spoken to the army chief in that regard and the army chief had sought a list of required weapons and on receipt of such weapons and equipment, they would be provided to the police.

He said that the Rangers and the police were carrying out the operation against criminals and the government needed the army's help only for weapons.

He said now the law and order situation in the Sukkur region had improved as earlier scores of people had been kidnapped in the region and now only a man had been kidnapped, who had also been recovered.

He said that intelligence agencies had got evidences of involvement of the Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in the Bloody Karachi

He said criticism for the sake of criticism would not be tolarated.

He said first Imran Khan should improve law and order in his own province then criticise others.

Suicide attacks un-Islamic, say ulema
[DAWN] Some 200 religious scholars have issued a decree against suicide kabooms and termed them unlawful under Islamic law.

The decree issued at a conference of Learned Elders of Islam here on Sunday said the philosophy behind the self-styled Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS), banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
and other so-called jihadi outfits was misleading.

Such groups operated in an un-Islamic manner and their thinking was flawed because it was based on poor knowledge and ignorance, said the decree released to the media by Maulana Zia ul Haq Naqshbandi.

The so-called jihadi outfits were unmindful of the conditions that must be met before declaration of jihad. Furthermore, the elements involved in sectarian killings were guilty of 'fasad', as Islam did not allow killings in the name of sect.

"The Islamic government is bound to crush such rebels," said the decree.

It described the elements opposing polio
...Poliomyelitis is a disease caused by infection with the poliovirus. Between 1840 and the 1950s, polio was a worldwide epidemic. Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. However, since the vaccine is known to make Moslem pee-pees shrink and renders females sterile, bookish, and unsubmissive it is not widely used by the turban and automatic weapons set...
immunisation campaign as "misguided people". "And those killing women health workers are the worst criminals," the decree said.

Those who attack worship places of non-Moslems are the worst sinners and protecting non-Moslems is mandatory for an Islamic state, according to the decree.

Maulana Naqshbandi said the conference had decided to observe Friday (May 22) as a day for peace and love. On the day, sermons would be delivered in about 400,000 mosques against unlawful killings, he said.

An Learned Elders of Islam board would be set up to counter the narrative of terrorist organizations like the TTP and IS.

A movement called "Eradicate Terrorism and Save Country" would also be launched, said the Maulana.

With 'blast-proof' wall and new lounge, Islamabad Airport gets much-awaited upgrade
[DAWN] Nine months and Rs450 million later, Islamabad's Benazir Bhutto
... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. Suspects include, to note just a few, Baitullah Mehsud, General Pervez Musharraf, the ISI, al-Qaeda in Pakistain, and her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, who shows remarkably little curiosity about who done her in...
International Airport has got its much-awaited facelift which includes what officials say is a "blast-proof wall", revamped business lounge and a new taxiway link.

A key component of the project was the construction of a 1,700 feet x 75 feet taxiway link, adjacent to the lone runway which will help to save over Rs1 billion per annum by reducing waiting time for aircraft that are ready to land or take-off. It is estimate that the new feature will save Rs120 million per month for airlines.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials, a number of missing facilities have been added to the airport during the refurbishment process.

Quetta anti-polio drive postponed as volunteers protest delayed payments

's Zhob district owing to security reasons, said an official of Balochistan Health Department who did not want to be named.

Polio volunteers who refused to administer drops claimed the provincial health department was using delaying tactics as far as their payments were concerned. The anti-polio drive was launched in eight districts of Pakistain's insurgency-hit province--including Zhob, Killa Saifullah, Sherani and Lasbella among other areas.

#1  Once again the Pak polio vaccination campaign has... issues. The recent outbreak of Naegleria (brain-eating amoeba) suggests a solution.

Supposed you gene-spliced polio vaccine into the amoebas. The amoebas would then express polio virus proteins and getting infected with Naegleria would be like getting vaccinated against polio. Yay!

You'd still have the brain-eating part, but let's take this one step at a time.

Pak army 'caught India by throat' during Kargil war: Musharraf
[TIMESOFINDIA.INDIATIMES] Recalling the Kargil
... three months of unprovoked Pak aggression, over 4000 dead Paks, another victory for India ...
conflict, Pakistain's former military dictator General Pervez Perv Musharraf
... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ...
on Sunday said the Mighty Pak Army "caught India by throat" and that India will never forget the war.

"There was a second line force, too, which caught India by throat and that was later given the status of army," Musharraf said, addressing a ceremony of his All Pakistain Moslem League (APML).

Musharraf, who criminal masterminded the 1999 Kargil conflict and ruled over Pakistain for nine years, said India will always "remember the battle of Kargil", the Geo News reported.

"We entered Kargil from four points of which India was not aware," the former Pakistain president said,

In May 1999, India and Pakistain, in their most serious military engagement since 1971, clashed in Kargil area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmire after bully boyz backed by Pak troops occupied the mountain peaks of Kargil.

Speaking on the occasion, the former army chief also announced that his political party will take part in upcoming local bodies election in the country.

Pakistan Army is world's most accomplished force: Gen Raheel
[DAWN] Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday said the Pakistain Army was the "most accomplished" force the world now recognised after having "cleansed large remote areas of holy warriors in the most treacherous terrain and in the most trying circumstances."
That's adorable.
Talking to officers and troops after witnessing the conclusion ceremony of the 4th Army Physical Agility and Combat Efficiency System (PACES) Championship at Kharian Cantonment, General Raheel termed the army's performance in recent operations as "phenomenal."

He also expressed satisfaction over objectives of new physical standards achieved through the new fitness regime.

"We must continue to train hard in peace time to be able to take on multi-dimensional challenges in future conflicts," said the army chief.

NATO Officials Sing ‘We Are the World’ at Turkish Summit
In a scene captured on video by a Turkish news agency, a group of NATO foreign ministers and European officials performed a rousing, after-dinner version of “We Are the World,” the 1985 charity single, after a summit meeting in the resort town of Antalya on Wednesday.

According to Hurriyet, a Turkish newspaper, Mr. Cavusoglu, host of the dinner, invited his colleagues to join him onstage with members of a local band to sing a “song for peace.”

'103 People From My Brigade Died There' – Soldier's Tweet About Fall Of Ramadi Goes Viral
I've heard reactions from former soldiers that range from "who cares, let them go to hell" to ones like @PlunkettPrime, who is disappointed to see the key city of Ramadi in Iraq fall to ISIS after American soldiers had fought so hard to secure it from al-Qaeda.

group's seizure of Ramadi represents a painful blow to the U.S.-led war against the jihadists, raising fresh doubts about Washington's war strategy and the military strength of its partners in Iraq.

The defeat of Iraqi security forces in the capital of Anbar province came despite more than 160 air strikes by U.S. and coalition warplanes over the past month, and after an elaborate effort starting last year to arm and train Baghdad government troops and Sunni rustics.

[Rudaw] Umm Sayyef, the wife of the dear departed ISIS oil chief Abu Sayyef who was killed by US commandos in Syria Saturday, is now held in a Baghdad prison and will be charged with enslaving a Kurdish Yezidi woman who was raped while in ISIS captivity, a well-informed source told Rudaw.

The source spoke to Rudaw Monday on condition of anonymity, as they were not authorized to discuss the issue publicly.

"Umm Sayyef was the head of the biggest Daesh group who sold Kurdish Yezidi women in Syria and Iraq... her husband was in charge of the oil trade, so obviously they gave her a crucial role, especially in Syria," the source added using Daesh, the Arabic acronym for ISIS.

The US commandos killed Abu Sayyef and captured his wife in a rare ground attack deep into Syria. American officials announced their forces rescued a Yezidi woman who was enslaved, but the source who spoke to Rudaw didn't confirm the claim. "They may even rescue more enslaved women, but the Kurdistan Regional Government has not been informed about this issue," he said.

US officials said no Americans were killed during the firefight, but Abu Sayyef and a dozen ISIS guards were killed during the operation.

#1  It occurs to me that the lady may not be in prison for terribly long. Baghdad is not that far from Ramadi.

#2  Thought that too TW. It's not clear how many people are left in our embassy at this time. A worry is that the embassy could become another Benghazi without contingency plans for an emergency. Would "O" leave people behind? Maybe.

Fear stalks neighboring Karbala after fall of Ramadi to ISIS
[Rudaw] Hours after the fall of Ramadi, the capital of Iraq's largest province of Anbar to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS), a military officer said that the radical group may expand its offensive south into Shiite Karbala.

"The ISIS turbans might open a new front at Karbala in order to distract the army from their drive towards the capital," an Iraqi army officer in Anbar told Rudaw on condition of anonymity.

ISIS turbans captured the lovely provincial capital Ramadi Sunday after they launched a massive attack Thursday evening against Iraqi troops in which they employed boom-mobiles, mortars and snipers.

Karbala MP in the Iraqi parliament Habib al-Turfi told Rudaw that his province is bracing for an emergency because "ISIS has tried time and again to take the town of al-Nukhayb,"

However,
the hip bone's connected to the leg bone...
Al-Turfi thinks that "ISIS will not succeed in attacking Karbala because there are no supporters of the group here,"

The town of al-Nukhayb is located on the provincial border of Anbar and Karbala. It is currently part of Anbar but legally contested by both provinces and ISIS has tried to take the town and use it as a launchpad into the Shiite province.

Former Iraqi Vice President and Baath leader Izzar al-Douri who was reported killed last month, said in an audio tape last week that "al-Nukhayb has been occupied by Iranian-backed militias" and he called on the Sunni tribes to drive them out.

Iraqi MP Muhammad al-Karbuli, told the media that the army pulled out of Anbar on orders from the high command, adding that the parliament should summon military leaders for this decision.

Al-Karbuli said that he feared "massacres against the people of Ramadi,"

The Iraqi officer who spoke to Rudaw said that with Anbar fallen to ISIS, the army "must now concentrate its forces around Baghdad and create a security cordon around the capital,"

ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdad released an audiotape last week in which he urged members of his group inside Baghdad to resume their attacks and called on his turbans to "head to Baghdad after finishing the war in Anbar,"

Obama Says Syrian Crisis Not Likely to End Before He Leaves Office
We'd already guessed that.
[ALMANAR.LB] US President Barack Obama
If you like your coverage you can keep it...
said Friday that the crisis in Syria would not likely end before he leaves office in early 2017 and reaffirmed his belief that there is no "military solution".

"The situation in Syria is heartbreaking, but it's extremely complex" Obama said in an interview with the Saudi-owned Al-Arabiya television network.

"It was not something that was triggered by the United States and it was not something that could have been stopped by the United States," he said, adding that "all too often in the Middle East region, people attribute everything to the United States."

Supreme Leader: Enemy Failed to Sow Ethnic Discord in Kurdistan
[ALMANAR.LB] Fearless Leader of the Islamic Revolution
...Iran's doddering head theocrat...
Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said the enemy has failed in its attempts to create ethnic and religious discord in the Kurdistan region.

The remarks were part of the Leader's written statements read out at a congress commemorating Moslem Kurdish Peshmerga deaders which was held Monday in the city of Sanandaj, the capital of western Iranian Kurdistan province.

In his statements, the Leader underlined that enemy conspiracies to cash in on "ethnicity" and "religion" to make the Kurdistan region insecure have been to no avail.

Ayatollah Khamenei said in his comments that anti-revolutionary elements spared no effort to foment insecurity in Kurdistan in the early years following the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran, but Moslem Kurds put their lives on the line to keep the enemy at bay.

The Leader also appreciated the sacrifices made by Moslem Peshmerga Kurds to counter the enemy.

"The enemy will not sit idly by, and will, as much as it can, use the many security, propaganda and financial tools in its possession to bear animosity," the Leader's statements read.

The enemy seeks to fuel religious divisions and to drive a wedge between Shias and Sunnis, read the Leader's statements, which also highlighted that some individuals fall for enemy conspiracies out of ignorance.

The Leader further urged vigilance against the enemy's divisive
...politicians call things divisive when when the other side sez something they don't like. Their own statements are never divisive, they're principled...
plots.

In his statements, Ayatollah Khamenei said Britannia is an old hand at creating rifts between Shias and Sunnis, and referring to a US Congress motion which, under the guise of supporting Sunnis, seeks to bypass the Iraqi central government, asked: "Are they really interested in [supporting] Sunnis?"

"They are against anything which has a sign of Islam, and to them, there is no difference between Shias and Sunnis, and issues such as religion and ethnicity are just a pretext for them to sow discord," read the Leader's statements.

Zarif: US not Seriously Willing to Fight ISIL
[ALMANAR.LB] Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that Tehran does not see real US intentions to confront ISIL and the growing conflict.
B.O.'s serious about lesbians and gays and transgendered and whatever the hell else they can think up having to do with genitalia.
"We see no willingness on the part of the United States to seriously resist ISIL," Zarif told the Spiegel news outlet on Saturday.
It's more important to lynch a few cops so the rest of them don't get uppity.
Zarif explained that ISIL was bent on destabilizing the Middle East, and Iran will support any real efforts to counter the group at both a global and regional level.
Fund-raising for the next election's way more important than a few thousand vicious killers with turbans.
He emphasized in particular that the West was also part of the problem saying that, "People, who were born and raised in the West, now are in Iraq and Syria beheading the victims or burning them alive," the minister added.
It's more important to import more people who'll be likely to vote like their ward-heelers tell them.
According to the US National Counterterrorism Center, more than 20,000 foreigners from 90 countries, including thousands of westerners, are suspected to have joined ISIL over the last three years.

Thousands of Yezidis still in ISIS hands despite daily rescue efforts
[Rudaw] At least 4,500 Yezidis are still in ISIS captivity despite the rescue of thousands of others, according to the Office of Yezidi Affairs in Dohuk.

The office, which releases daily figures and data about Yezidi captives and was founded by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), also fears that about a dozen more mass graves are yet to be found in Yezidi areas attacked by ISIS since last summer.

"We know that at least 1,758 Yezidi people have been rescued and 10 such mass graves have been found since last summer when the attacks began," said Hussein Koro, head of the office, adding that most of the captives are women and kiddies.

Koro said his office can verify the deaths of 1,280 Yezidis while in ISIS confinement.

Seven-year-old Alan and his mother are the latest to be rescued from ISIS captivity in the Shingal area. The mother, who wished to remain unidentified, said most of her family members were still in ISIS hands.

"We have been in their hands for 10 months," she said. "My son and I are here, but our other children, our girls and our old people are still there," she told Rudaw.

The rescue effort of many of the Yezidis has been a direct outcome of paid ransoms to ISIS gunnies or intercession by Sunni tribal leaders in the area who appear to have influence among the ISIS ranks.

The KRG has announced that it paid many of the ransoms for the return of the captive Yezidis.

Alan and his mother did not wish to discuss the details surrounding their escape from captivity.

Koro says that, despite financial aid from the KRG to help the Yezidis after their return from confinement, most Yezidi families are in desperate need of economic aid, as they are unable to return to their areas and have lost virtually all possessions.

"We do everything to first get them out of there, but so much more is needed to be done afterwards, which we at the moment don't have the means to do," Koro said.

A 2015 UN report estimates that nearly 1.5 million refugees or displaced people have taken shelter in the Kurdistan Region since mid-2011 when the bloody Syrian uprising started.

The KRG, already heavily affected by budget cuts in Iraq, has been under mounting pressure to accommodate the refugees.

Home Front: Culture Wars
U.S. Appeals Court Says YouTube May Show Video that Outraged Muslims
[AnNahar] A U.S. appeals court on Monday ruled that Google-owned YouTube should not be barred from showing an uploaded "Innocence of Moslems" film that outraged Islamics.

A full 11-justice panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
sided with YouTube and rejected a court decision last year ordering the service to keep the "blasphemous video" off of its online stage.

Actress Cindy Lee Garcia pitched a legal battle based on an argument that her five-second appearance in the film gave her copyright authority enough to prevent it from being shown without her permission.

The snippet featuring the actress was taken from work she had done for a different film, and a dubbed-over line given to her character was offensive to the Islamic religion, according to her court case.

The film outraged members of the Islamic community around the world and prompted a fatwa to be issued calling for the deaths of all involved in the making of the video.

"In this case, a heartfelt plea for personal protection is juxtaposed with the limits of copyright law and fundamental principles of free speech," Justice Margaret McKeown wrote for the appellate court.

"By all accounts, Cindy Lee Garcia was bamboozled when a movie producer transformed her five-second acting performance into part of a blasphemous video proclamation against the Prophet Mohammed."

While expressing sympathy for the plight of the actress, the justices reasoned that "a weak copyright claim cannot justify censorship in the guise of authorship."

Censoring "Innocence of Moslems" violated the First Amendment right to free speech at a time of intense debate and interest in actions, according to justices.

The film calls Islam a "cancer" and has prompted often violent anti-American protests in more than 20 countries around the Moslem world.
