Obama Regime Condems Egypt And UAE For Libyan Bombing
It's almost like he's on their side...
That's certainly one way to describe it.
The United States does not support Egyptian and Emirati airstrikes against Islamist militias in Libya because the U.S. believes the crisis in Libya must be resolved politically and without outside interference, a Department of Defense spokesman said Tuesday.

Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) carrying out airstrikes in Libya was different from U.S. airstrikes against Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant forces in Iraq, Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby told a briefing, because the U.S. was acting in Iraq, in a €œvery targete€ manner, at the request of its government.
'That's different' - well, all righty, then! Just give them jobs, and the problem's solved! When's my tee time?

They've been trying a political solution for four years.

When I was there you had the Government and then you had the militias that were doing as they damned well pleased and then you had Benghazi and Derna which every Moamar, Ahmed, and Ali in Libya knew was a festering fever swamp of jihadists.

Everyone wondered why the US kinda bombed the crap out of Quadaffi and then just let it drop.

Egypt urges global action to wipe out IS scourge
[ARABNEWS] Egyptian warplanes struck Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
targets in Libya on Monday in swift retribution for the myrmidons' beheading of a group of Egyptian Christian hostages on a beach, shown in a grisly online video released hours earlier.

At the same time, Egypt called for international intervention in Libya against the Islamic State group. Loyalists of the Syria and Iraq-based group have risen to dominate several cities in the chaos-riven North African nation.

Italia, just across the Mediterranean Sea, says it is prepared to lead international action in Libya.

After the release of the beheading video Sunday night, the tiny Christian-majority home village of more than half of the 21 Egyptians believed killed by the holy warriors was gutted by grief. Inside the village church, relatives wept and shouted the names of the dead in shock.

"What will be a relief to me is to take a hold of his murderer, tear him apart, eat up his flesh and liver," said Bushra Fawzi in el-Aour village, as he wept over the loss of his 22-year-old son Shenouda. "I want his body back. If they dumped it in the sea, I want it back. If they set fire to it, I want its dust."

The 21 -- mainly young men from impoverished families -- had traveled to Libya for work and were kidnapped in two groups in December and January from the coastal city of Sirte. In the video, the group is marched onto what is purported to be a Libyan beach before masked bandidos gunnies with knives carve off the head of each. The killing of at least a dozen of them is clearly visible, though it was not clear from the video whether all 21 hostages were killed.

Two rounds of Egyptian Arclight airstrikes, several hours apart on Monday, struck targets in the eastern Libyan city of Darna, according to Egyptian and Libyan security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk the press.

Egypt's military announced the strikes on state radio, marking the first time Cairo has publicly acknowledged military action in Libya. It said the strikes hit weapons caches and training camps "to avenge the bloodshed and to seek retribution from the killers."

"Let those far and near know that Egyptians have a shield to protect and safeguard the security of the country and a sword that cuts off terrorism," it said.

Libya's air force commander, Saqr Al-Joroushi, told Egyptian state TV that the Arclight airstrikes were coordinated with the Libyan side. Libya's air force said it also carried out strikes in Darna.

Libya has become home of the strongest presence of the Islamic State group outside its core territory in Syria and Iraq.

With almost no state control in much of Libya, holy warriors loyal to the Islamic State have seized control Darna and the central city of Sirte and have built up a powerful presence in the capital Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
and the second-largest city Benghazi. Libyan Interior Minister Omar Al-Sinki has said some 400 bandidos gunnies from Yemen and Tunisia are believed to make up the group in Libya, along with Libyan militias that have vowed allegiance.

Egypt appears now to be launching a push for international military intervention in Libya to curb the group.

GNC and Mujahideen Shura Council promise
[Libya Herald] The rump of the General National Congress (GNC) and the Mujahadeen Shura Council of Derna (MSCD) have both strongly condemned Arclight airstrikes by Egypt on Derna and promised a harsh response against Egypt.

The MSCD called the situation in Derna "tragic", claiming that the Arclight airstrikes had landed on residential neighbourhoods, killing innocent women and kiddies.

Promising to ensure the safety of Egyptians living in Derna, the MSCD also threatened the "criminal" Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, saying that the blood of Derna's women and kiddies was not cheap and that there would be a "harsh" response.

Strongly condemning the 21 beheadings of Egyptian Copts in Sirte by a group purporting to represent the Islamic State

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS), the GNC expressed its condolences to the families of the victims in a statement.

"It is crucial that Libyans stand together in times like these," the GNC said. "Those terrorist acts have nothing to do with Islam."

The GNC went on to stress that the war on terror must be carried out under the legitimacy of the State, respecting Libya's illusory sovereignty.

The Egyptian government did not contact the GNC before commencing the Arclight airstrikes, the rump congress said.

"The GNC has formed a military force and a joint security room to secure Sirte. We are prepared to hit those who undermine Sirte's stability with an iron fist," the GNC said, referring to fears that IS has taken over a second Libyan.

A front man for Egypt's Armed Forces General Command announced the strikes on state radio ,s the first time the Egyptian government publicly acknowledged taking military action in Libya.

In his statement, the front man said the planes were targeting weapons' caches and training camps "to avenge the bloodshed and to seek retribution from the killers".

Libya's internationally-recognised government in Beida has announced that it has also launched air strikes in Derna.

Arabia
Japan, Turkey Shut Embassy in Strife-torn Yemen
Poor Yemen. They just don't seem able to cope with anything more recent than about 1200 AD.
[AnNahar] Japan and Turkey said Monday they had temporarily shut their embassies in Yemen, adding to the latest exodus of foreign diplomats over security fears after a Shiite militia takeover.

Operations at the Japanese mission in Sanaa were suspended as of Sunday due to the "worsening security situation" in the country, the foreign ministry said.

Its staff have evacuated to the Japanese embassy in Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates...
, from where they will be fulfilling some duties.

Tokyo has urged its citizens to leave the strife-racked country as the security situation deteriorates.

Turkey on the other hand also said it was temporarily closing its embassy in Yemen, following the takeover of power by the Huthis.

The foreign ministry said in a statement that the decision had been taken due to the "deterioration in security" in the country.

"We hope that the authority of the state is reestablished in Yemen so that we can resume our diplomatic services in this friendly state."

Soddy Arabia

The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
, the United States, La Belle France, Germany, Italia, Britannia, the Netherlands, The United Arab Emirates, Spain and Japan have all shuttered their embassies in Sanaa.

UN Security Council urges Yemen's Houthis to Cede Power
[ARABNEWS] The United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
Security Council on Sunday urged Yemen's Shiite Houthi
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ...
militia to cede power, release President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi and negotiate to emerge from the crisis.

All 15 members of the council unanimously adopted a resolution drafted by Britannia and Jordan to that effect.

"The Security Council has spoken in one voice and delivered a strong and united message," British Ambassador Mark Lyall Grant said.

His Jordanian colleague Dina Kawar stressed that "we need to prevent Yemen from sliding into the abyss."

Ahead of the vote, the Houthis had made clear their determination to maintain their grip on power, despite intense pressure from the UN, the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
.

The Arab League has called a meeting of its diplomatic chiefs on Yemen to take place Wednesday.

In its resolution, the council demanded that the Houthis engage in "good faith" in UN-brokered negotiations, "withdraw their forces from government institutions" and "relinquish government and security institutions."

It also demanded that the militia release Hadi, Prime Minister Khaled Bahah and other members of his cabinet currently under house arrest or otherwise "arbitrarily" detained.

All parties must "accelerate inclusive UN-brokered negotiations" and set a date for a constitutional referendum and elections, the resolution added.

It raised the possibility of sanctions, without going as far as Gulf countries, which have demanded coercive measures under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter.

A new council resolution would be necessary for sanctions to be applied.

In November, the council slapped sanctions on ex-president President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh
... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it...

Europe
Europe's Leaders Bridle at Netanyahu Call for Jewish Exodus
[BLOOMBERG] European leaders bridled at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s call for an exodus of Jews to Israel following a spate of antisemitic attacks, saying the focus should be on keeping Europe safe for Jewish communities.
The focus to date has been mere tut-tuttery. The victims are primarily Jewish, the perps exclusively beturbanned.
"€œWe are happy and grateful that Jewish life has returned to Germany," Chancellor Angela Merkel said in Berlin, two days after a synagogue guard in Copenhagen was among those killed in dual shootings that stunned Denmark. "€œWe very much want to live together with Jews in Germany."
Germans who like to eat Schweinehachsen may very well. "Germans" who're "offended" by swine want to kill the Jews and stand on their graves. They'd dance on their graves but dancing is haram in the land that gave us the Chicken Dance.
President Francois Hollande of France took exception to claims that Jews in France can't be safe.
The point is, if they're not safe it's because they're Jews.
His prime minister, Manuel Valls, accused Netanyahu of exploiting acts of violence in Europe to boost his standing ahead of a March election.
No doubt those people got themselves killed just to help his campaign. They did it on purpose. You know what them Jews is like.
"€œI can't allow things to be said in Israel that would lead one to think that Jews have no place in Europe and particularly France," Hollande said near Paris today after assailants vandalized a Jewish cemetery in northeastern France.
Saying the one thing against the background of the other thing kinda makes the Netanyahu case, doesn't it?

#1  Exodus trivia:

Dimona is a small city in the middle of the Negev desert in Israel. It’s home to a community of Black Hebrews: a group of African-American émigrés who left Chicago, followed the revolutionary leader Marcus Garvey to Liberia, and ended up immigrating en-masse to Israel in the late 1960s. They brought with them their worldly possessions, their culture, and their music.

But Netanyahu is essentially claiming that there are bands of brigands running loose in the Euro countries and the nations are lacking either the will or the ability to protect their vulnerable citizens. I'm torn on the issue. Suppose the Jews leave. Then the muslims go back to slowly taking over by numbers rather than having a target they consider so tempting that they can't help but kill them. At least with the Jews in place, Europe the world can't deny the obvious.

Netanyahu: If Iran deal is good, why hide it from Israel?
[IsraelTimes] PM takes Obama Administration to task, saying it is his 'obligation' to warn US politicians on nuclear talks

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched a thinly-veiled criticism at the B.O. regime Monday for reportedly withholding information from Israel regarding the ongoing US-led nuclear talks with Iran over suspicions that Netanyahu authorized leaks of the negotiation's details.

"Just as Iran knows what deal is being outlined in the negotiations, its only natural that Israel also know the agreement being drafted," Netanyahu said in Hebrew at the start of his address at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations.

"But if there is anyone who thinks that this is a good agreement, why should it be hidden?"

On Sunday, Israeli media outlets reported that the B.O. regime kept Israel in the dark regarding the details and progress of the talks, over fears that the Israeli leader was undermining the talks and using it for political gain.

Both the White House and State Department categorically denied the reports.

Netanyahu, who continued his address in English, went on to reiterate the importance of addressing US politicians concerning the threat of a nuclear armed Iran.

He called his upcoming March 3 speech before the US Congress an "obligation," and said he would "do everything in my power to prevent the conclusion of a bad deal that could threaten the survival of the State of Israel."

Netanyahu warned that under the current parameters of the deal, Iran would be able to make a nuclear device within an "unacceptably short of time," and emphasized that the deal would allow the Islamic Theocratic Republic to realize its genocidal ambitions against Israel.

Responding to criticisms that his invitation was a slight to the US president and Democratic politicians, Netanyahu insisted that the speech was not a partisan issue. "The survival of Israel is not a partisan issue. It concerns everyone, all the supporters of Israel from every political stripe. The fight against Death Eater Islamic terrorism is not a partisan issue," he said.

Netanyahu said he was determined to present his objections to Congress before the March 24 interim deadline for reaching a deal with Iran.

Congress will vote on March 24 on the Iran sanctions deal, a week ahead of the March 31 deadline of international negotiations with Iran.

Diplomatic relations between the two allies have reached new lows in past weeks over the invitation to address Congress, which bypassed the White House. Netanyahu accepted an invitation last month from Rep. John It is not pronounced 'Boner!' Boehner
... the occasionally weepy leader of House Republicans...
(R-Ohio), the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to speak to Congress, but the White House complained that Boehner had not cleared the invitation with President Barack Obama
I bowled a 129. It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something...
or Democrats in Congress.

Britannia, China, La Belle France, Russia, the United States and Germany -- known as the P5+1 -- have been seeking a comprehensive accord with Iran that would prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear bomb in return for an easing of economic sanctions.

Mr. Matthews then cut her off and said: "We're not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or 50 lifetimes. There's always going to be poor people. There's always going to be poor Moslems, and as long as there are poor Moslems, the trumpet's blowing and they'll join. We can't stop that, can we?"

Ms. Harf dug in and insisted improving the economic opportunities for the terrorist group is the key to turning back their terror, The Right Scoop reported.

"We can work with countries around the world to help improve their governance," she said. "We can help them build their economies so they can have job opportunities for these people."
Harf began her career in the Klingon Directorate of Intelligence as an analyst focusing on Middle Eastern leadership issues. She later became a Klingon media spokesperson. Had she been an accomplished analyst, she would not have been permitted to migrate to public affairs or to Foggy Bottom.

Muslims cannot be competitive with other groups for two reasons:
1. The Danes have done enough mental evaluations on Muslims migrating to Denmark to draw fact based conclusions. Muslims have been intermarrying in their tribe for 1400 years. Besides having birth defects at about 40 times the rate of Danes they have an average IQ of 77. By our standards this classifies them as mentally retarded. They also have many more mental disorders than the European white population. Since they will rarely marry outside their tribe, genetically they have doomed themselves.
2. The Muslim prayers take a great deal of time out of the workday. Many pray 5 times a day for about an hour each session. Take the time for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a few hours sipping Chai tea with your buddies and anyone with a brain can see there is no room to put in an 8 to 10 hour day.

41 Islamabad seminaries to be shut during military parade
[DAWN] At least 41 seminaries are to remain closed in Islamabad during the March 23 military parade for security reasons, DawnNews reported.

The decision to close the seminaries was taken by the Additional Deputy Commissioner and other security officials.

Police stations within the jurisdiction of the 41 seminaries have been instructed to enforce the closure.

They include 18 seminaries of Police Station I-9, 14 of Abpara Police Station, 6 of Shahzad Town and 3 from Secretariat Police station.

Sources said the seminaries will be shut from 18th till 24th March.

The government has recently taken action on the monitoring of funds for seminaries accused of promoting militancy and extremism.

Measures have been taken in the aftermath of the December 16th Taliban attack on a school in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

Prosecutor in Baldia factory fire case steps down
[DAWN] Special prosecutor Shazia Hanjra separated herself from the Baldia Town case and sent a written notification in this regard to the Sindh government on Monday.

Hanjra confirmed to Dawn that she has submitted her resignation to the Ministry of Law. A private practicing lawyer, Hanjra was appointed special public prosecutor for the Baldia Town factory fire case on behalf of the state.

Hanjra said investigating authorities had not been cooperating with her and that Investigating Officer (IO) Sub-Inspector Jehanzeb had given a no objection certificate to the factory owners' bail application. She added that the IO had still not given her a copy of investigation documents.

The prosecutor expressed her concerns regarding the delay in the case and said that the Sindh High Court's directives were not being followed by the government and that was due to the lack of cooperation by the investigation officer.

Sources added Hanjra could not continue with the case due to security risks. It has been learnt that the special prosecutor was not provided with security while travelling to and from the premises of the court. Previously, Hanjra had written to the government on the matter, but there has been no progress on her plea.

She had notified the Law Department and the Sindh government regarding security risks asking to be provided with security at her home, office and during travel. However,
the difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits...
no police personnel were deployed for Hanjra's security.

The process for appointing a new prosecutor in the case is under way, however, the government has not disclosed any names as yet.

Pope denounces slaying of Egyptian Copts by Islamic State
[DAWN] Pope Francis has denounced the slaying by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Egyptian Copts in Libya, saying they were "assassinated just for being Christian".
That's not the same thing as saying "they're animals who need exterminated like the vermin they are."
Francis spoke off-the-cuff on Monday during an audience with a Scottish ecumenical delegation. He said: "They only said 'Jesus help me ...' The blood of our Christian brothers is testimony that cries out. Be they Catholic, Orthodox, Copts, Lutherans, it doesn't matter: They're Christian!"

Militants in Libya affiliated with the Islamic State group released a video late Sunday purporting to show the mass beheading of Coptic Christian hostages held for several weeks. The killings raised anxieties in Italia, given Libya's proximity just across the Mediterranean Sea and because one of the hard boyz in the video said the group plans to "conquer Rome", the seat of Catholicism.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hezbollah engaged in fighting ISIL in Iraq, Nasrallah says
[Iran Press TV] The head of Hezbollah says the Lebanese resistance movement has been fighting the ISIL Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
group in Iraq.

"We may not have spoken about Iraq before, but we have a limited presence because of the sensitive phase that Iraq is going through," Nasrallah said on Monday in a speech delivered in commemoration of Hezbollah's deaders, Sheikh Ragheb Harb, Sayyed Abbas al-Mousawi and Hajj Imad Moughhnieh, in Sayyed al-Shuhadaa Complex in Dahiyeh, located in the southern suburb of the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The Iraqi army along with volunteer forces and rustics are fighting against the ISIL terrorist group which currently controls large areas of Iraq and Syria. The group sent its faceless myrmidons into Iraq in June 2014, seizing large parts of land straddling the border between Syria and Iraq.

Fighters from Leb's Hezbollah resistance movement have been backing the Syrian army in the fight against the Takfiri faceless myrmidons operating inside Syria.

"I call for those who are urging us to withdraw from Syria to join us in our fight in Syria. Let's go to Iraq and everywhere to face off this threat because this is the right way to defend Leb," Nasrallah said.

Jordan's duplicity
Nasrallah further criticized Jordan's double standards in the fight against terrorism, saying that all terrorist groups follow the same mentality.

"Jordan cannot fight ISIL in Iraq and support al-Nusra
...the current nom de guerre of al-Qaeda in the Levant, which isn't to be confused with al-Qaeda in Iraq and the Levant...
in Syria, terrorist groups are all faces of the same coin."

The al-Qaeda liked al-Nusra
...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli sh-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ...
Front and the ISIL terrorist group have "the same essence, ideology, culture and methodology," the head of Hezbollah said, adding, "The only difference between them was over leadership, but they are essentially one and the same."

"All the Takfiri currents must be fought, without distinction," he further noted.

Nasrallah's remarks came as Jordan has vowed to intensify Arclight airstrikes against ISIL strongholds following the immolation of a Jordanian pilot held hostage by the terrorist group.

Islam urges justice, fairness toward non-Muslims: Ayatollah Khamenei
[Iran Press TV] Fearless Leader of the Islamic Revolution
...Iran's doddering head theocrat...
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
...the successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini and the actual dictator of Iran...
says Islam has ordered Moslems to treat the followers of other religions with "fairness and justice."

"What is seen in the world today is that powers and governments which claim to [advocate] fairness and justice do not observe any fairness and justice except within the bounds of their narrow, limited and cruel policies," Ayatollah Khamenei said in a meeting with representatives of religious minorities in Iran's Parliament (Majlis).

The Leader pointed to the propaganda campaign against Moslems in Europe and the US and said, "What is at issue is not [the question] why the Moslems do not have the necessary freedom in most of these countries, but at issue is [the question] why the Moslems do not have any [sense of] physical safety."
Ayatollah Khamenei cited the Hollywood-made film, American Sniper, as an example and said it encourages Christian or non-Moslem youngsters to harass the Moslems as much as possible.

Islam does not accept this approach, the Leader said, adding, "Islam believes in fairness."

Ayatollah Khamenei stated that Imam Ali, the first Imam of the Shias, has said a Moslem would not be blamed if they die of sadness over the harassment of a non-Moslem in a Moslem country.

Iran Denies Khamenei Letter to Obama on IS
[AnNahar] Iran has denied reports that supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei wrote to U.S. President Barack Obama
If you have a small business, you didn't build that...
in response to an October letter mooting cooperation against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that Khamenei, who has the final say in all matters of state in Iran, had sent a secret but noncommittal letter to Obama in response to his overture.

But in a statement released late on Sunday, the foreign ministry denied there had been any new correspondence.

"The U.S. president has already previously written letters and in some cases there have been replies," ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said.

"There has been no new letter."

The Journal reported that Khamenei had raised an array of historic grievances against the United States in his response to Obama's letter, which suggested cooperation against IS if Iran reaches a deal with world powers on its controversial nuclear program.

Tehran is a staunch ally of both Baghdad and Damascus in their fights against the jihadists but has kept its distance from the U.S.-led coalition carrying out air campaigns in the two countries.

Obama Refused to Assist Jordan, Egypt With Information on ISIS Targets
[THEGATEWAYPUNDIT] Oliver North told Greta Van Susteren tonight that the Egyptian government asked the US for information on ISIS targets in Libya yesterday after ISIS beheaded 21 Christians. But, the Obama Administration refused the request. The Obama administration also refused to give Jordan information on ISIS targets in Syria after their pilot was burned alive in a cage.

What ISIS Really Wants
The Islamic State, also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), follows a distinctive variety of Islam whose beliefs about the path to the Day of Judgment matter to its strategy, and can help the West know its enemy and predict its behavior. Its rise to power is less like the triumph of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt (a group whose leaders the Islamic State considers apostates) than like the realization of a dystopian alternate reality in which David Koresh or Jim Jones survived to wield absolute power over not just a few hundred people, but some 8 million.
But why must they be so brutal? Modern day tyrants use tools such as victimization, class warfare, free food, and distillation of national sovereignty.

#6  social-media posts from the region suggest that individual executions happen more or less continually, and mass executions every few weeks. Muslim “apostates” are the most common victims. Exempted from automatic execution, it appears, are Christians who do not resist their new government.

It appears that all are not following al-Baghdadi's directive about exempting Christians. The fact that the so-called caliphate endorses human burning, enslavement, taking of enemy's wives and children as concubines, beheadings, mass killings cannot be tolerated and has to be defeated. The mistake was made with Hitler to not take what he said seriously. Similarly, Stalin was not considered an enemy before it was almost too late. ISIS with all of its apocalyptic notions has to be taken extremely seriously. Washington needs to get off the dime, get smart, and put together a long-term strategy for dealing with this modern day 7th century menace.

Home Front: Culture Wars
MSNBC Host Suggests Ground Troops Against ISIS, Says it is a Religious War€™
[Daily Caller] SCHULTZ: It was a weekend of terror around the globe. In Libya, ISIS released a video showing more bloodshed. The video released on Sunday claims to show the beheading of 21 Egyptian Christians. The brutal act of violence is clearly a gross display of what ISIS is capable of, what they're motivated about, and what they are really all about. And I think this act of mass murder amounts to a religious war. Now we all have our own interpretations at this point. This continues to go on. At this point these people were targeted, as I see it, and murdered because of their faith.

As I see it, the United States is going to have to have continual [review] of its strategy. We caan'€™t sit back here and watch hordes of people get their heads cut off. And why would we tell ISIS there'€™s no way we would ever put ground troops in combat situations? I think it has reached a point where we really have to have a very strong debate in this country. As I see it, it's a religious war. What is going to turn back ISIS?
Little to actually 'debate' at this point. What is needed is leadership.

DO you suppose this is the first step in a PR campaign to get the one off the hook for sending in combat troops without getting the leftists' panties in a wad?

#4  Have to find the backbone to first call it what it is instead of dancing away like Obama does.

#5  Well, not only have the French jumped onboard, now we have the ITALIANS talking about sending ground troops to Libya.

Gee thanks fellas that's only four years too late.

Anyway, seems every spineless socialist in Europe is deciding that ISIS is a major threat to their dreams of social paradise.

Our leadership dances in about three different directions on everything.

I think the time for grand speeches, complex thinking, and contemplation are over. Time to quit equivocating and do something.

#6  Maria Harf says we should create jobs for the ISIS Troglodytes but then again our State Department is infused through and through with idiots and they utter many inane things. State is the useful idiot for the other (ISIS). Recall that State insisted that Benghazi was the brainchild of some shmuck in California who made a video in his basement. Our country is so fu*#ed for the next year and a half.

#7  First, I agree with grom. I see nothing wrong with radical sunni killing radical shi'ite.

Second, anything Ed Schultz says is most likely scripted by the White House. He is incapable of an original thought.

#8  I too agree with grom IF AND ONLY IF they keep it in the ME. We should encourage anyone from the ME to stay there and if they are here, go back there.

As soon as they start trying to transplant that vile poison to another area push back twice as hard.

#9  So very ironic. 12 years ago the US was up to its ears in the fight, and no one was willing to help. Fast forward and the rest of the world is finally catching on -- and the US has a Muslim president.

#10  I also agree with Grom. I support assisting anyone that wants a one-way ticket to join ISIS. When the last of the willing are gone we start shutting down mosques that promote terror and arresting/deporting those that recruit and promote violence. If there are any Muslims left after that we will finally be down to the 'good ones' we can live with. Then we can start to worry about what is going on in Syria.

I've long felt that if the Crusades swept North Africa instead of going for Jerusalem they could have converted the fairly underpopulated region and driven out those that wouldn't convert.
