The Taliban are currently controlling ten districts in Helmand, Zabul, Jawzjan, Badghis and Badakhshan provinces. The security agencies however have not said that what plans they have made to retake these districts.
Recently the Taliban claimed to have captured Charkh district in Pashtun-infested Logar.
But the Afghan security officials said that they relocated the government offices from Charkh to another place because of a shortage of facilities.
"They pretend that they are deployed at schools and mosques, but there haven't been any mosques or schools in the area over the past 20 years," said Matiullah Sarwar, a member of Pashtun-infested Logar's provincial council.
The government meanwhile sent a delegation to Pashtun-infested Logar to investigate reports of the collapse of Charkh to the Taliban.

[ToloNews] Multiple drivers on Afghanistan’s Kabul-Kandahar highway on Wednesday said that on the previous day a police officer shot a motorist on the highway after he refused to give them money.
The incident happened in Zabul province, between Kandahar and Maidan Wardak.
Drivers said the security forces on the highway are involved in extortion and if the drivers refuse to pay, they are insulted, beaten and killed in some cases.
In protest, the drivers on Wednesday blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway.
Drivers called on the government to take action and keep people safe on the highway.
"The checkpoint (person) asks the people for money, they ask 300 Afs for each ticket," said Karim, a driver on the highway.
"We are really surprised that this is happening in this country, why is the government not taking action against these thieves?" said Sulaiman Momand, the head of the truckers' union.
But Abdul Naser Naser, the commander at the Zabul police headquarters, has denied the allegations. No, no! Certainly not! He said that the driver was killed as a result of fighting between the security forces and the Taliban ...Arabic for students... "We had six maimed people at the checkpoint there, we also had a martyred officer there, there was fighting the day the driver was killed," said Naser.
Extortion has been a major problem on Afghanistan’s highways.

[LIBYAREVIEW] The al-Haboun tribe condemned the arrest of Abdel-Aali al-Habouni, and the slaughtering of his ’peace’ camel by a Zawiya militia, on Tuesday."We are certain that this disgraceful act only represents the perpetrators. Perhaps the sorrow and regret that afflicted the honest people of Zawiya is the same that we are suffering from," the tribe said in a statement.
They called on the "honourable sheikhs of Zawiya" to intervene swiftly to release al-Habouni and guarantee his safety. "We affirm that there is no life without peace and peace is life," the statement said.
Al-Habouni set out from Libya’s far east on a peace journey to all regions of the country on the back of a camel. He confirmed that he would not stop until reaching the Ra’s Ajdir border with Tunisia, a distance of 1,900 kilometers.
He began the journey on foot from his hometown of Imsaad, which is located in the far north near the border with Egypt; to Tobruk after he had travelled 140 kilometers in three days. During his journey, he sent messages of peace and love to the residents of the areas he passed through.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Gunmen assassinated Mahmoud al-Werfalli, a member of the Libyan National Army (LNA), who was wanted for war crimes on Wednesday, medics said, underscoring the risks of violent mostly peaceful escalation on the ground that poses the biggest challenge to Libya’s new unity government.
Werfalli was shot from a car outside a hospital in Benghazi alongside two of his bodyguards, military sources said, amid growing friction between rival factions in eastern Libya.
Werfalli was a commander in an elite unit attached to Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all. Actually, he is, but slowly... ’s LNA that is based in eastern Libya.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has indicted Werfalli twice for the suspected killing of more than 40 captives, including in a 2018 incident in which photographs appeared to show him shooting 10 blindfolded prisoners.
This month he was shown in a widely circulated video raiding a car showroom in Benghazi alongside his uniformed men, smashing up furniture and computers as they brandished weapons.
Friction between rival factions in eastern Libya has been escalating for some time and could further degenerate into a series of retaliatory attacks, said Tarek Megerisi of the European Council on Foreign Relations.
"I think this is going to be the first major challenge for the (Government of National Unity) GNU," he said, according to Rooters.
The GNU was sworn into office this month, taking over from the two rival administrations in east and west that have run Libya for years, as part of a UN-facilitated peace effort.
The eastern administration, backed for years by the LNA, handed over its powers to the GNU on Tuesday at a ceremony in Benghazi.
Besides the challenge of merging Libya’s divided state institutions and preparing for elections in December, the GNU needs also to tackle a dire security situation with power held by myriad factions.
On Wednesday, UN Special Envoy Jan Kubis told the Security Council: "Various gangs continue to operate without hindrance, human rights ...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless... violations continue with almost total impunity."
Last week, GNU Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibeh said his government would open an investigation after the discovery of bodies in Benghazi.

[AA.TR] Aiman Adlbi, president of the Islamic Commission of Spain, was detained on Tuesday night in Tenerife, police told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday. The Islamic Commission is the highest level Moslem organization in Spain, acting as a liaison with the Spanish government and overseeing religious education and religious services in the country.
Spain’s National Police said that Adlbi was released after questioning and charges were brought against him.
The police spokesperson was unable to comment further, as the investigation remains open, but local media reported that the arrest was related to the funding of terror groups in Syria and the Middle East.
Oh? Fascinating.
Adlbi, a 74-year-old doctor from Syria, was elected president of the commission last summer, after the former head, Riay Tatary, died of COVID-19.
The arrest is connected to a 2019 judicial investigation that resulted in the arrests of at least 10 people - nine Spaniards and a Syrian national - who were accused of funding alleged bully boy operations in Syria and other conflict zones.
The Islamic Commission of Spain didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

[NYPost] State and federal agents have searched the seven-bedroom Colorado home of accused mass shooter Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa on a quiet suburban street — which neighbors told The Post descended into chaos after his "disruptive" family moved in over three years ago.
Residents of the residential street in Arvada say they had a rude awakening around 3 a.m. Tuesday, hours before their 21-year-old Syrian-born neighbor was publicly named as the suspect in Monday’s slaughter of 10 at a King Soopers store about 30 miles away in Boulder.
"THIS IS THE FBI! EVERYBODY COME OUT WITH THEIR HANDS UP!" neighbor T.J. Bresina told The Post of agents’ early-hours swoop that included "a Humvee with a megaphone."
"There was a squad car blocking our road. One officer with his gun drawn and other officers sweeping the street. It was intense! I couldn’t believe it," recalled the chef who has lived on the street for 23 years.
Agents of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) were later photographed visiting the Alissa family home around 3 p.m. Tuesday, staying inside for around 90 minutes, according to neighbors.
The house, a new build from 1998, was bought by Ali Aliwi Alissa
...the 34 year old brother who told the police his brother is a paranoid loner...
for $634,000 in 2017, Colorado property records show.
It was the start of a nightmare for others living on the then-quiet street — with some so upset at "harassment" by the large Syrian family that they pulled up stakes and moved away, neighbors said.
"They harassed several neighbors. Caused two neighbors to move," Dawn Losasso, who has lived on the block in the "tight-knit neighborhood" for 25 years, told The Post.
"You see lots of people going in and out of that house at all hours, especially late at night," she said — but she didn’t see the 21-year-old alleged killer "often."
Bresina said the "erratic, chaotic" arrival of the Alissas eventually left many on the street "pissed at the neighbors who sold to them."
"We’ve had problems with them," he told The Post, calling the family a "real chaotic, disruptive addition to the neighborhood."
"Always a ton of people over there," he said of the family that "never introduced themselves."
"Their children are always running in the street at odd hours. You have to watch out coming down the street. At least five children, toddlers up to teenagers," he said, with "so many cars parked out front all the time."
While a woman inside was photographed opening the door to agents, those inside the house were not welcoming to news hounds eager to learn more about the alleged mass killer.
"We are not talking to anyone," a woman believed to be his mother told DailyMail.com, the outlet said.
"You are not allowed to stand next to my house. If you don’t leave, I will call 911."
Homeowner Ali Aliwi Alissa also owns a nearby restaurant in a strip mall, one that was closed Tuesday, the Denver Post said.
Locals praised the owners’ kindness, saying they often gave to a homeless woman who lived behind the restaurant.
"I’ve been in the shop while they’ve given her food and they’re very kind," Jamie Poeling, who runs a neighboring business, Dream Dinners, told the outlet.
[NYPost] Accused Boulder supermarket gunman Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is a "loner" who lives in his family’s basement and never had a girlfriend, according to a relative.
Usame Almusa, Alissa’s brother-in-law, told the Sun that the alleged shooter lived in the basement of his family’s Arvada, Colo. home and never had many friends.
"Every time I visited with my wife’s family he would always sit away from everyone else, not saying anything to anyone," Almusa, who is married to Alissa’s sister, Aicha, told the outlet. "It was strange."
"He was a loner, just sitting to the side, not with us," he said. "He works with his family, his brothers, at their restaurant.
...perhaps where he got the money to buy the gun...
There was never a girlfriend and not many friends."
Alissa lived in the seven-bedroom, six-bath home and worked at family business The Sultan Grill — which has been closed since the shootings.
State and federal authorities raided the home early Tuesday morning.
"He has a reputation for being stupid, not smart," Almusa said of his brother-in-law. "He was not like a proper Moslem. I don’t know what kind of Moslem he was. He did not go to the mosque I go to."
Almusa, 30, who lives in Denver with his wife, said they got a call from the family Monday following the shooting at a Boulder King Sooper grocery store that left 10 dead, including a Boulder police officer.

The Californication of Colorado, as has been predicted by many here. The narrative is pretty much the opposite of the usual "They were great neighbors, nobody saw this coming" story line

Fucktard didn't fall far from the tree it looks like.
[DAILYTIMES.PK] At least four people including a child were killed while 13 others sustained injuries in a kaboom outside Levies headquarters in Chaman city of Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... on Tuesday.
Police said that the explosives were planted on a cycle of violence and the apparent target was a police mobile stationed outside the Levies prison. They said that the bodies and injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital Chaman. A large number of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the location after the blast and further investigation was under way, they added.
No group has thus far grabbed credit for the attack.
In August last year, at least five people, including a 10-year-old boy, were killed and 21 others injured in a powerful kaboom in Chaman. As per the security officials, unknown miscreants had planted an improvised bomb (IED) on a cycle of violence parked on Mall Road near the District Police Officer (DPO) office.

[AlAhram] At least 27 forces of Evil of the bad boyIslamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (IS) group were killed in an offensive targeting IS positions in a mountainous area in northern Iraq, the Iraqi military said on Wednesday.
Iraqi security forces, backed by US-led coalition and Iraqi aircraft, launched the offensive on March 9 and continued for 14 days in the Makhmour mountain range in southeast of Nineveh's historic provincial capitaldjinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , Yahia Rasoul, front man of the Commander-in-Chief of the Iraqi forces, said in a statement.
The offensive included 312 Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s that destroyed 120 IS positions and caves used by the bad boy krazed killers, leaving an unknown number of IS forces of Evil killed inside the bombarded sites, while snipers from the security forces spotted and killed 27 of those who escaped the attacked positions, the statement said.
The mountains and vast rugged areas in the north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad have witnessed intense activities of the IS forces of Evil during the past months, despite repeated military operations to hunt them down.
The security situation in Iraq has been improving since Iraqi security forces fully defeated the IS forces of Evil across the country late in 2017.
However, a poor excuse is better than no excuse at all... IS group remnants have since melted in urban areas or deserts and rugged areas, carrying out frequent guerilla attacks against security forces and civilians.
