[AlAhram] At least two dozen Afghan cops were killed Friday in an insider attack on their base in southern Afghanistan, two officials told AFP.
Several "infiltrators" opened fire on their comrades as they slept, Zabul governor Rahmatullah Yarmal said, in one of the deadliest attacks since the US signed a withdrawal deal with the Taliban ...Arabic for students... last month.
The pre-dawn raid targeted a joint police and army headquarters near Qalat, the scenic provincial capital, long considered a Taliban stronghold.
"In the attack, 14 Afghan army forces and 10 coppers were killed," Zabul provincial council chief Ata Jan Haq Bayan said.
He added that four other Afghan cops were missing.
"The attackers had connections with the Taliban bully boys," Bayan said.
They fled in two military Humvee vehicles, along with a pickup truck, weapons and ammunition.
Yarmal confirmed the toll to AFP.
The Taliban did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Zabul province borders Pakistain and former Taliban supreme leader Mullah Mohammad Blinky Omar ...a minor Pashtun commander in the war against the Soviets who made good as leader of the Taliban. As ruler of Afghanistan, he took the title Leader of the Faithful. The imposition of Pashtunkhwa on the nation institutionalized ignorance and brutality in a country already notable for its own fair share of ignorance and brutality. Died of an unspecified ailment in a Pak hospital... , who died in 2013, hid there for years.

Be gentle, my friends, as you fight,
For your enemy just might be right;
And please raise a toast
To his onrushing host.
"Did that hurt?" Sorry, yes." "How polite!"

[Am Military News] A Pakistani doctor has been arrested in the U.S. state of Minnesota on a terrorism charge, after he told paid FBI informants that he had pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State extremist group and wanted to carry out lone wolf attacks in the United States, prosecutors say.
Muhammad Masood, 28, a former research coordinator at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, was arrested at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on March 19 by FBI agents and was charged with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
Prosecutors say Masood was in the United States on a work visa. They allege that starting in January, Masood made several statements to paid informants ‐ whom he believed were members of Islamic State ‐ pledging his allegiance to the group.
He also allegedly voiced his desire to travel to Syria to fight for IS and a desire to carry out lone wolf attacks in the United States.
Mayo Clinic spokeswoman Ginger Plumbo said Masood formerly worked at the medical center but "was not employed by Mayo Clinic at the time of his arrest."

[IsraelTimes] Clashes are reported between Paleostinians and police in and around Jerusalem’s Old City and at least one arrest was made, as Friday prayers on the Temple Mount went ahead while authorities tried to limit the number of worshipers due to the coronavirus ...the twenty first century equivalent of bubonic plague, only instead of killing off a third of the population of Europe it kills 3.4 percent of those who notice they have it. It seems to be fond of the elderly, especially Iranian politicians and holy men... emergency measures currently in place.
The outdoor areas of the holy site, known to Moslems as the al-Aqsa Mosque compound, were open to Friday prayers even as most other major Moslem shrines around the world were shuttered amid the pandemic. Worshipers gathered in small groups, but rain forced them to gather in sheltered spots in violation of Health Ministry rules.
Meanwhile, ...back at the hoedown, the fiddler suddenly struck a sour note. The dancing stopped abruptly. Everyone looked at Bob... many Paleostinians staged often-violent mass protests outside the Old City after police prevented them from reaching the site and closed the Old City doors to anyone except local residents. In the current world environment, Paleos acting up should expect to get hurt. Badly.
Police used riot-control methods to disperse the crowd.

The scary thing that they'll soon have thousands of Covid-19 cases, overwhelming Israel's medical facilities. Well, maybe Israeli Gov will use the crisis to, finally, stop their access to our hospitals (If Germans could stop the flow of gimme-migrants...).

Israel needs to stop Paleo use of their hospitals. There comes a time when Israeli humanitarianism becomes viewed as a source of weakness by the Paleos. There is or should be a price to pay for bad behavior.

Totally agree with comments #1 and #2. It is madness to continue as if nothing has changed.

How about they can do what they want but no help from Israel if they get sick.
At least 26 fighters from Iranian-backed units in Syria were dead. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights pointed a finger at the US and western countries. The US-led Coalition said it wasn’t them.
[Rudaw] Two non-combatants were killed and several maimed by a boom-mobile that went kaboom! in the northwestern Syrian city of Azaz at sunset Thursday.
Civil Defense ambulances forces responded in the aftermath of the earth-shattering kaboom, which targeted a security checkpoint.
It is the second attack to hit Azaz since late January, when another boom-mobile killed seven people when it went kaboom! in the middle of a bustling area located near several restaurants in Azaz.
Located in northern Aleppo province, Azaz has been relatively peaceful when compared to nearby Idlib, where three million civilians are threatened by an impending Syrian offensive to wrest the province from rebel forces. Azaz, which is home to many who have fled fighting in other parts of Syria, has seen sporadic suicide kabooms since The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... launched Operation Euphrates Shield in 2016 to seize territories from the Syrian Democratic Forces. Areas where Ottoman Turkish troops and intelligence forces are installed to support Syrian rebels and Ottoman Turkish-trained police forces are regularly hit by boom-mobiles and explosions.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Anna News Agency released a new photo this week that showed the remains of a Ottoman Turkish drone that was shot down by a Russian-made air defense system in Syria.
In the image released, the two field news hounds are photographed with the remains of the Ottoman Turkish drone, but the type unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was not stated.
According to the Russian publication Avia.Pro, the Ottoman Turkish drone was likely shot down by a Russian-made Pantsir S-1 air defense system, which was deployed to the Idlib front shortly after the Ottoman Turkish military began launching heavy strikes on the Syrian Army’s positions.
However, alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk... while the Pantsir S-1 did suffer some losses during the Ottoman Turkish attack, Avia.Pro reported that the most successful of the Russian-made air defense systems was actually the Buk-M2E.
While the exact number of Ottoman Turkish drones shot down is not fully known, it is estimated that as many as 40 were lost during their short operation against the Syrian Armed Forces at the start of the month.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The jihadist rebels were planning to carry out attacks against the Russian Armed Forces in Idlib, sources from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) said this week.
According to the sources, jihadist groups were planning ambushes along the M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway), as well as attacks behind enemy lines in Aleppo, Hama, Latakia, and Idlib.
However, a clean conscience makes a soft pillow... their plans appear to be on hold, as the Russian military has been conducting hourly reconnaissance flights over the region, with their main concentration being the M-4 Highway.
The jihadist rebels have attempted to ambush the Russian military before, but their attacks mostly fail and usually end up with the latter’s air force heavily bombarding the turban positions.
Furthermore, while the Russian Ministry of Defense does not discuss any operations, their special forces have been known to carry out operations behind enemy lines in order ambush the jihadists. "They ambushed our ambush! Those basterdz!"
One of the biggest attacks the Russian special forces conducted last year was an ambush in the Hama countryside that resulted in dozens of losses for the jihadists.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces have resumed their patrols in the Idlib Governorate after their troops were ambushed by unknown assailants on Thursday.
According to reports from Idlib, the Ottoman Turkish military conducted patrols along the M-4 Highway (Aleppo-Latakia Highway) between the cities of Saraqib and Ariha.
There have been no reports of any attacks against the Ottoman Turkish military since they resumed their patrols in the Idlib Governorate.
On Thursday, at least two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed when their forces were ambushed along the M-4 Highway near the town of Mahambal.
. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... accused "radical groups" of carrying out the attack, despite the fact the area is controlled by their allied forces.
