[Washington Examiner] The Air Force is holding off on investigating Sen. Martha McSally’s claims that she was raped by a superior officer when she was an Air Force pilot, citing McSally’s wishes.
"The Air Force takes every allegation of sexual assault seriously, no matter when the allegation is made, and thoroughly considers the right way to proceed," Ann Stefanek, chief of Air Force media operations, said in a statement Friday. "Given the Senator’s desire to not participate in an investigation, the Air Force will remain ready to investigate further if the Senator’s desire changes or other information is presented."
McSally claimed Wednesday that she was raped during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing about how to combat sexual assault in the military, but did not share the identity of the officer involved in the alleged incident. raped during the hearing? And nobody noticed?
She said she did not report the incident because she "didn’t trust the system," and was "ashamed and confused."
"I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor," McSally said.

...In fairness, the USAF is between a rock and a hard place on this one. McSally appears to have told no one about this since the incident, and she is apparently unwilling to push the issue, and since we know nothing about the other person involved there's no way to start pursuing it from that end.

During an interview with The Wall Street Journal in April 2018, McSally alleged her track and field coach pressured her into a sexual relationship during her senior year at the Catholic girls' school. She told the Journal that the coach used "emotional manipulation" to keep her compliant. She did not reveal the incident to friends or family until ten years after her graduation.

Rape is a crime and should be punished. But given our current political/social environment, I can't help wondering if this was "rape rape" or just some guy squeezing her boob as part of an clumsy pass.
[Irish Times] Britain could run out of food by this time next year if it cannot maintain the flow of goods after Brexit, that country’s National Farmers’ Union has said. After it emerged that Teresa May’s government was drawing up plans to stockpile food in the event of a no-deal Brexit, the British Retail Consortium and drug manufacturers issued more warnings about possible supply shortages.
Of those already stockpiling food, the most popular items include staples such as flour, olive oil, dried pasta, rice, powdered milk, coffee and tinned items such as tomatoes and sardines. Other "luxuries" such as chocolate, and over-the-counter medicines such as painkillers and antihistamines feature too.
Here are some of the reasons for stockpiling and views on the practicalities of putting together an "insurance policy" in the larder.
’THE PROBABILITY IS TINY BUT THE CONSEQUENCES ARE TRULY TERRIBLE’
I am trying to do my best to avoid political rhetoric and look only at facts. While I still have faith that the people behind the politicians, the civil servants, industry leaders, lawyers and indeed the administrators of the EU are working hard to prevent a no-deal Brexit, the facts around reverting to WTO regulations leave me concluding that April 2019 could be a very sensible time to be self-sufficient, so I’m already stockpiling.
My first purchase was an additional shelving rack for the garage and several plastic storage crates, to ensure the "Brexit supplies" are kept separately to everyday food. Each time I go to a supermarket, 2-3 times a week, I am doubling up on all non-perishable or long-date items and throwing a few extras into the trolley. So far I’ve bought mainly tinned goods: soup, different types of beans, tuna and sardines, chopped tomatoes. Also, jars of olives, capers and lots of dried pasta. I plan to spend around £100 a month until we know more about what might happen in March. The chest freezer will be filled with meat, but at the moment I’m looking to ensure we have the absolute basics rather than luxuries. I have also bought flour, yeast etc and will endeavour to learn to bake bread. I have bought ibuprofen, toothpaste and toilet paper as part of doubling up on non-perishable goods. In the event that food supplies are not affected, I will donate any stockpiled items to food banks. So far, my one "luxury" touch is three-packs of Boost chocolate bars at £1 each and with long dates.

Stock piling money to purchase any bargains from idiots.
It's Ireland that needs to stockpile.
After leaving the protectionist EUSSR, the UK can trade more with other nations. 50% of trade is with the protectionists, so trade can easily expand! Can even bin the EUSSR taxes and regulations that kill trade, job creation and raise the cost of living.
All sorts of international trade agreements (WTO, GATT, etc.) will remain in place, and the UK can trade freely under those umbrellas, not to mention bilateral treaties that it is free to negotiate.

Hysteria watermarked as requested. :-)
Yes, they are overreacting to a change that, if it ever actually happens, will have very little impact on daily lives in Britian. Nonetheless, having pantries well-stocked with necessities and a few luxuries will go far toward hardening those households against real disasters, even if only a multi-day power outage or getting snowed in by global warming. And if the writer continues maintaining stockpiles when key items go on sale, she (I assume without looking — in most households it is the female head who does the grocery shopping, which explains the disproportionately female-directed advertising) may even find she is living better while spending less.

Sealed containers for the rice is a very good idea! A year ago some sort of weevil got into my kitchen and *Surprise!* I had a shelf full of rice and dried beans that had crawlies in them -- ended up having to pitch them all out.
[Babylon Bee] WASHINGTON, D.C.‐Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal hit a snag when it lost the support of another freshman representative, Ilhan Omar. Omar had been an enthusiastic supporter of the Green New Deal and wanted to save the earth, but then she noticed something very disturbing when looking at a map of the earth: Earth is the planet on which Israel resides.
"You’ve been hypnotized by the Jews!" Omar accused a surprised Ocasio-Cortez. Omar then ripped up a copy of the Green New Deal. "This is just a plot to help Israel keep existing! Did AIPAC pay you off?"
Ocasio-Cortez was very apologetic, saying she hadn’t considered how her plan would affect Israel. She then vowed to change her plan so it might save the whole planet except where Israel resides.
"This is, like, a learning process," Ocasio-Cortez later told reporters. "When I made the Green New Deal, I thought weather like storms and earthquakes were all caused by climate change, but now I’ve learned from Representative Omar that lots of that is actually from Jewish-controlled weather machines. So for the next version of the Green New Deal we will have to keep that in mind."

[Townhall] Well, if you thought there would be a day where the far left wing of the House Democratic caucus would quiet down a bit, given their anti-Semitism issues, you’d be wrong. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) sent a fundraising email last night suggesting that AIPAC was coming after her and that the U.S.-Israeli relationship should be severed. No, I’m not kidding. This is insanity. AOC has been one of the few defenders of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who once again was accused of anti-Semitism for suggesting those who support Israel are exhibiting dual loyalty. The latter is a common anti-Semitic smear. Omar has also peddled the talking point about Jewish money and influence with her "all about the Benjamins" tweet.
In 2012, she said that Israel had hypnotized the world. She’s run the gauntlet on this front. The recent dual loyalty fiasco has given her party leadership heartburn, exposing its fractured points with this resolution that condemns anti-Semitism, which has been watered down because...apparently, there are a lot of Democrats who don’t think this is an issue. They’re just angry that their side is being pilloried for peddling bigotry when they wanted the entire focus to be on Trump and his phantom prejudices. So, after days of anti-Semitic theater, AOC decided to blast this fundraising email (via NTK Network):

I can't believe I'm on the same side of the argument as her. I feel dirty. I need a shower.
It's obvious that AIPAC has an outsize influence on American politics. It's also obvious that Israel has an outsized priority in American foreign policy. Who benefited when we destroyed Iraq? It certainly wasn't America. Now we're going after Iran and I don't see how constant war in the middle east benefits us at all. It's great for Israel though.
It's bad enough the Europeans leech off us, but we give direct foreign aid to Israel. Money right out of our own pockets. To a developed first world nation. WTF? The claim is always that they buy weapons with it. I say let's cut out the middleman and just keep the money without washing it through the military-industrial complex.

Why are the people who bitch so much about the slavery in the confederacy the ones who are so quick, both fifty years ago and today, to put their allies on the auction block?
Even if it were morally right, and they deserved it, it's a counter-survival position that'll make us weaker and people like the Russians and Chinese stronger. I thought we were supposed to be fighting collusion?

There's a contradiction: On the one hand, the left wants to use Marxism as branding to return to relatively feudal medieval institutions, but on the other hand it wants to adopt policies that the average medieval doge would have recognized as suicidal.

And this one's for Herb, in case he hasn't gotten a clue yet: currently Israel is a way for our government and military to fund research into anti-ballistic-missile stuff without having it oops-"mismanaged" by leftist idiots who think we'll be better off with our cities destroyed.
Every time they get the cat while we're out of town they say they love him and put him on a vegan diet.
[American Thinker] The world's oldest hate finally, officially has found purchase in America with the support of the world's oldest political party, the Democratic Party of the United States. Yesterday's shameful House resolution was not so much a turning point for American Jewry as a view of the turning point in the rear view mirror.
Faced with clear examples of Ilhan Omar's Jew-hatred ("anti-Semitism" is a wishy-washy 19th-century British euphemism that implies that the same people equally hate Jews and Palestinians because they are both Semitic; claiming "dual loyalties" is not about legitimate criticism of Israel's policies), House Democrats chose to condemn not her, but "white supremacists" and "Islamophobia."
Fully cognizant of the successful jiu-jitsu making the victim the aggressor, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez immediately started fundraising using AIPAC (The America Israel Public Affairs Committee) as a bogeyman:
Useful idiot Rep. Jan Schakowsky, nominally Jewish, actually defended Omar's Jew-hatred as understandable because she "comes from a different culture." The notion that importing Jew-haters is a bad idea never occurs to her, nor does the idea that immigrants should assimilate and reject such hatred when they come here.

History tells us quite vividly that there's not much room for a Jew in an Islamic environment. I'm not sure what other conclusions or theories can be drawn.

American Jews, American Catholics, American Blacks, American Hispanics...
Lots of grouos vote against what conservatives think of as their best interests. And liberals are equally confused when white union workers vote for Reoublicans. There are a lot of reasons why groups of people vote the way that they do. Sayng “But they ought...” is the quickest way to not pursuade them to change their minds.
American Muslims mostly voted Republican (except Black Muslims) for economic reasons until the new Muslim Democrats took the stage. But, pace the Pussy Hat movement, American Jews may soon realize they’ve been blatantly pushed out of their own party. That tipping point is coming.
[American Thinker] The Democrats will not produce a meaningful resolution denouncing anti-Semitism. The vile hater, Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, will not be named. Her position on the powerful Foreign Relations Committee will be as secure as ever. The resolution will dilute anti-Semitism by conveniently placing it among other hatreds.
Such duplicity is reminiscent of the New York Times burying the Holocaust in the back pages.
They covered it, just not where you could see it. The Times, like the Roosevelt administration and the British Foreign Office, knew of the Holocaust since 1942 and chose to ignore it.
The Democratic Party has once again abandoned the Jews. The Jews, however, refuse to abandon the Democratic Party. I grew up in a Democratic home in Chicago where Franklin Roosevelt was revered as if he were some form of deity.
Little did my parents and grandparents know the Roosevelt’s State Department worked tirelessly with the British Foreign Office to obstruct and delay the rescue of European Jews so that Hitler could continue to kill them as the clock ran out and, consequently, eliminate the problem. Like today’s Democrats, they created mechanisms to give the symbolic appearance of being concerned about the plight of the Jews while doing nothing until the last days of the war.

If you are at war with Christianity, you have to be at war with Judaism...and vice versa.
If you are an aggressive liberal state thinker who wants to worship the environment, or big government, or global warming, or the rights of animals, that toxic brew of atheism is a reducto ad absurdum upon which anti-Judeo-Christian is based...

Dems are like Crack, once you start using you can't seem to leave. African Americans have the same issue.
BLUF:
[The Federalist] Citizens of ancient Rome would leave an unwanted child out to die by exposure, but crude forms of abortion were in practice, too. They stemmed from the same wicked belief that a parent has the right to kill his offspring, whether due to deformity, uncertain paternity, or even because the child might have been more of a drain on the household than a help.
The Twelve Tables of Roman Law contained the command that, "A dreadfully deformed child shall be quickly killed." Aristotle wrote that, "As to exposing or rearing the children born, let there be a law that no deformed child shall be reared," and the Stoic philosopher Seneca, too, thought that it was reasonable to drown "weakly" children.
Leftists like Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, the Vermont state representatives who just passed the nation’s most permissive abortion law, or Sen. Patty Murray and the other Democrats who voted against protecting aborted infants born alive, are simply carrying on a millennia-long tradition of depriving children of their rights as human beings and image bearers of God.
Here’s your answer, Shapiro: In the womb or out, the far left believes it’s the mother’s decision whether to allow her own child, her helpless and dependent flesh-and-blood offspring, to live. Expect to see more obstruction of protections for live infants, because Democrats don’t believe in their own propaganda. They believe something far, far more terrible.

I think Baal himself would blush at the extent the abortion zealots go to kill the unborn.
Except they aren't just zealots anymore, they are mainstream in the democratic party.
