Foreign Air Support Would Help: MoD
A pity both former president Hamid Karzai and current president Barack H. Obama wanted the foreign troops out as quickly as possible.
[Tolo News] As the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) continue their offensive operations against bandidos faceless myrmidons in 16 provinces, officials from the Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Monday announced that the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) may ask for foreign air support if the need arises.

"We will push foreign forces for air support if needed. But the support will be provided in harmony with our own forces," MoD front man Dawlat Waziri said.

According to Waziri, the ANSF is currently conducting 17 military operations against faceless myrmidons in sixteen provinces.

Waziri also touched on the subject of air support to ANSF by foreign forces during military operations in Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
provinces and said the outcomes were encouraging.

"We asked for foreign air support during the military operations in Kunduz, Badakhshan, Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
and Sangeen district of Helmand province," he said.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, a little lightbulb figuratively appeared over Bossy's head...
a number of security experts have concurred and said that foreign air support would be helpful in targeting bandidos faceless myrmidons on the ground as this also decreases the number of casualties among the Afghan forces.

"Air support is quite important to our forces. Therefore the ministry of defense must raise the issue with foreign forces so that our military commanders directly request foreign troops for air support if needed," military commentator Atiqullah Amarkhail said.

"Primary requirement for support falls in the four categories, the first is close air support, the second is aviation, the third is intelligence and the fourth is logistics. That support can be required at some form ... for the next couple of years," Resolute Support Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Brig. Gen. Wilson Shoffner said.

Hamas Holds Egypt Responsible for Lives of Kidnapped Palestinians
[ALMANAR.LB] Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, resistance group said Monday that it holds Egypt "responsible" for the lives of four Paleostinians, members of Hamas, who were kidnapped last week by an gang in the northern Sinai.

In a statement, the movement urged the Egyptian authorities to do more to secure their release, and called on human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
and political organizations to play a bigger role condemning the "savage" kidnapping.

Hamas also warned the ISIL-affiliated group against harming the kidnapped members.

ISIL is the term used when referring to the so-called 'Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant' takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
group.

"The criminals who dare to take action against out people falsely think that the Paleostinian people might forget or ignore this case," the statement added.

The four Paleostinians -- identified as Abd al-Basit Abd al-Dayim, Abdullah Said Abdullah Abu Jibbeen, Yasir Fathi Misbah Zanoun and Hussein Khamis al-Thabda -- were kidnapped at gunpoint on August 19 after they crossed through the Rafah border into Egypt.

Egyptian officials told Ma'an that they were taken hostage by the Sinai Province gang as a bargaining chip to force Hamas to release some 50 Salafists
...Salafists are ostentatiously devout Moslems who figure the ostentation of their piety gives them the right to tell others how to do it and to kill those who don't listen to them...
currently imprisoned in Gazoo.
So it wasn't Hamas frogmen arrested by on their way to Iran for training by a very annoyed Egyptian government, as previously reported? Interesting.
Negotiations have reportedly begun between Hamas and the holy warrior group, with the involvement of both Paleostinian and Egyptian mediators.

However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
sources close to the Sinai Province group -- which pledged allegiance to ISIL in November -- have said the four Hamas members would be killed if Hamas did not comply with the group's demands.
What more could Ansar Bayt al Maqdis possibly want? They're already getting weapons for their jihad against Egypt, and quite possibly the loan of skilled men bored by the lack of action in Gaza as well.

French Actor Caught in Train Attack Accuses Railroad Staff of 'Inhuman' Behavior
Just days after three American tourists helped thwart a potentially deadly attack on a Thalys train en route from Amsterdam to Paris, a well-known French actor who was traveling aboard at the same time has gone public to accuse personnel of abandoning passengers while the incident was taking place.

In an interview with Paris-Match that first appeared on Saturday, 60-year-old star Jean-Hugues Anglade (Killing Zoe, Queen Margot) recounted events that took place last Friday on Thalys train 9364 at approximately 5:45 pm Paris-time. Anglade was traveling back home with his partner and two children when shots broke out in the adjoining car, where Moroccan-born Ayoub El-Khazzani, armed with an AK47 and Luger, began firing on passengers.

Khazzani was eventually subdued by three American friends – Spencer Stone, Alek Skaratos and Anthony Sadler – and a British consultant, Chris Norman, all of whom risked their lives to stop a potential massacre from occurring. (An unnamed Frenchman had tried to intervene earlier.) They have since been deemed heroes by local media and were decorated Monday morning by French president Francois Hollande with the nation's coveted Légion d'honneur.

While Anglade thanked the men for their "heroic courage," adding that "without them, we would all be dead," he had less favorable things to say about the Thalys staff. Trapped with his family in the last car when the attack began, Anglade said that Thalys staff members came running past them down the aisle, opened a service door with a key and locked themselves inside.

At the point, Anglade saw the shooter heading their way in the adjoining car. He broke the safety glass of an alarm with his fist, severely cutting himself in the process, and then pulled the alarm chord to stop the train from moving. Then he tried to get his family to safety behind the locked door, banging on it and screaming for someone to open up. But the Thalys staff did not respond, and Anglade was forced to shield his children with his body, waiting for the shooter to arrive.

After a few tense minutes, Sadler came running through Anglade's car to say that American servicemen had subdued the assailant, while asking for a first aid kit to assist his friend Stone and the Franco-American Mark Moogalian, both of whom were wounded during the attack.

Anglade qualified the Thalys personnel behavior as "inhuman" and "terrible." Officials from both the Thalys and the SNCF (French National Railway Company) have assured that an internal investigation is underway. In a press release they further added that the employees Anglade accused of fleeing belonged to the "restaurant staff," and thus to a subcontracting company.

Anglade is perhaps best known in the U.S. for portraying the coked-up bank robber in Roger Avary's 1993 thriller, Killing Zoe, or for playing the boyfriend in Luc Besson's 1990 femme action smash, Nikita. But he has starred in dozens of other French films, most notably Jean-Jacques Beinex's Betty Blue and Patrice Chereau's Queen Margot, the latter for which he received the 1995 CÄ‚Å sar award for Best Supporting Actor.

Long lines of migrants enter Serbia en route to Europe
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Long lines of migrants, many of them refugees from Syria, snaked through southern Serbia by foot on Monday before jumping on trains and buses north to Hungary and the last leg of an increasingly desperate journey to western Europe.

State authorities and aid agencies threw up tents and scrambled to supply food and water to thousands surging through the western Balkans, their numbers swelling since Greece began ferrying migrants from its overwhelmed islands to the mainland.

The United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
refugee agency, UNHCR, said more than 7,000 had reached Serbia from Macedonia between Saturday and Sunday, many of them having spent three desperate days on Greece's northern border after Macedonia halted their passage saying it could take no more.

On Saturday, crowds overwhelmed Macedonian riot police, who responded with batons and stun grenades. Helpless to stem the tide, Macedonia rushed trains and buses to the border to carry them north, where they crossed into Serbia on foot.

More arrived on Monday, walking from the border crossing of Miratovac some 5 km (3 miles) to a reception center in the southern Serbian town of Presevo, where many received medical aid, food and papers legalizing their transit through the country.

Most carried their belongings in rucksacks. Men carried small children on their shoulders. After a chilly night, daytime temperatures were expected to near 30 degrees Celsius (86°F).

"I just want to cross to continue my journey," said Ahmed, from Syria, on the Serbian border. "My final destination is Germany, hopefully."

Germany's Merkel condemns 'disgusting' violence against refugees
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] German Chancellor Angela Merkel
...current chancellor of Germany. She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom...
and her government spoke out on Monday against violent protests against asylum seekers in the eastern German town of Heidenau over the weekend.

"The chancellor and the whole government condemn in the strongest manner possible the violence and the aggressive atmosphere towards foreigners there," government front man Steffen Seibert told a regular news conference.
Okay. Run off the right wing bully boyz. Where's the legitimate forum for concerns about the country being swamped by an alien culture?
"It is disgusting how right-wing bully boyz and neo-Nazis attempt to spread their idiotic message of hatred around an asylum shelter," he said.

At least 31 German coppers were hurt in scuffles with about 600 protesters in the early hours of Saturday, many hurling bottles and stones, angry about the arrival of asylum seekers.

The Grand Turk
U.S., Turkey to launch anti-ISIS air operations
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
and the United States will soon launch "comprehensive" air operations to flush Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) fighters from a zone in northern Syria bordering Turkey, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu told Rooters on Monday.

Detailed talks between Washington and Ankara on the plans were completed on Sunday.

"The technical talks have been concluded, yesterday, and soon we will start this operation, comprehensive operations, against Daesh (ISIS)," he said.

The United States and Turkey plan to provide air cover for what Washington judges to be moderate Syrian rebels as part of the operations, which aim to flush ISIS from a rectangle of border territory roughly 80 kilometers long, officials familiar with the plans have said.

Diplomats say cutting ISIS's access to the Turkish border, across which it has been able to bring imported muscle and supplies, could be a game-changer. U.S. jets have already begun air strikes from Turkish bases in advance of the campaign.

Cavusoglu said the operations would also send a message to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Despoiler of Deraa...
and help put pressure on his administration to come to the negotiating table and seek a political solution for Syria's wider war.

The nuclear deal with Iran and the implications for US security: A(n upcoming) speech by former Vice President Richard B. Cheney
President Barack Obama and his supporters have framed the debate over the Iran nuclear deal as a choice between accepting the agreement or opting for war, claiming there is no alternative to this deal. However, critics argue that the current agreement not only allows Iran to acquire a nuclear weapons arsenal, but also may bring the world closer to nuclear war than at any time in 70 years.

As the US military budget is cut and the Obama administration diminishes America's power and global role, will nervous allies in the region--worried about Iran's rising power and the seriousness of US commitments--develop their own nuclear programs? Will the provision of sanctions relief and more than $150 billion in cash to the world's leading state sponsor of terror--responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers through Tehran's proxies in Iraq and Afghanistan--endanger America's allies and interests? Should Congress approve a deal in which Iran is allowed to verify its own compliance?

Just over a week before Congress's September 17 deadline to approve or disapprove the Iran nuclear deal, please join AEI in welcoming former Vice President Richard B. Cheney for a major address concerning the deal's consequences for the security and interests of the United States and its allies in the Middle East.

No terrorist network left capable of operating in Pakistan: Nisar
[DAWN] Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan
...Currently the Interior Minister of Pakistain. He is the senior leader of the Pak Moslem League (N) and a close aide to Nawaz Uncle Fester Sharif. He is noted for his vocal anti-American railing in the National Assembly. However (comma) Khan told the U.S. ambassador that he was in fact pro-American but he and the PML-N would have to be critical of US actions in order to remain publicly credible. Khan cited his wife and children's US citizenship as proof, which means he's lying to one side or the other and probably both. He wears a wig, but you probably guessed that. since hair doesn't grow naturally in that shape or texture...
on Monday laid out an elaborate progress report on the National Action Plan (NAP), saying that terrorism in the country had been brought down by 70 per cent, adding that no turban network could now operate in Pakistain.

Nisar said the civil-military relationship in the country had never been better, and credited the civil-military cooperation for the achievement of the feat. He went on to say that no one should discuss civil-military relationship in public, "nor should anyone give out reckless opinions on the subject."

He also came out strong against those slamming the federal government for inaction on the NAP's 20-point agenda.

After a cabinet meeting headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif

Iraq
Iraq's Sadr calls on followers to join Friday protests in Baghdad
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iraq's leading Shi'ite holy man Moqtada Tater al-Sadr
... the Iranian catspaw holy man who was 22 years old in 2003 and was nearing 40 in 2010. He spends most of his time in Iran, safely out of the line of fire, where he's learning to be an ayatollah...
, whose opinion holds sway over tens of thousands of supporters, called on his followers on Monday to join Friday protests in Baghdad, a move that could risk escalating tensions over government reforms.

The capital and many southern cities have witnessed demonstrations in recent weeks calling for the provision of basic services, the trial of corrupt politicians, and the shakeup of a system riddled with graft and incompetence.

Sadr's statement is the first direct appeal by a major party leader to participate in the protests, which emerged from anger over power cuts during a sweltering heatwave and have been mostly non-sectarian.

The protests and a call by another prominent Shiite holy man, Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, to "strike with an iron fist" against corruption helped lead Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to launch a major reform campaign earlier this month.

"We announce to all people and to the Sadrists in particular the need to participate in protests this Friday in Baghdad", Sadr said through a televised speech by front man Salah al-Obeidi in the holy city of Najaf.

"The Sadrist participants should merge with the other protesters in a single, national Iraqi crucible."

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israel Makes Unlikely Business Deal With Iraq's Anti-ISIS Fighters
[Daily Caller] Three-quarters of Israel's oil imports in recent months have come from Kurdistan, the semi-independent Iraqi region at the center of that country's Islamic State fight.

The Financial Times has reported that between May and August, Israel imported 19 million barrels of oil from Kurdistan, totaling over $1 billion in spending and about 75 percent of Israel's total demand. The Kurds have struggled to control their own economy -- and their anti-Islamic State fighters -- amid what they consider weak support from the central government in Baghdad. (RELATED: Iraqi Politicians Pass Around Blame For Rise Of ISIS)

Oil from Kurdistan presumably makes its way to Israel via private dealers to Turkey, at which point it is difficult to trace back to its origins. The Financial Times suggested that purchasing Kurdish oil is a way for Israel to covertly bolster Iraq's politically isolated Kurds.

The Kurdistan Regional Government denies having sold oil to Israel "directly or indirectly." And for its part, Israel did not provide comment to the Financial Times, since it considers the oil market a matter of national security.

Israel gay pride stabbing suspect charged with murder
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Israel on Monday charged an ultra-Orthodox man with murder for stabbing a 16-year-old girl to death and wounding five others at a Gay Pride parade, as he lashed out at homosexuality in court.

Yishai Shlissel, who was released from prison only three weeks before the stabbing for a similar attack, mentioned the name of the 16-year-old girl killed during his appearance at the court that charged him, news website Ynet reported.

"The pride parade must be stopped in order for the soul of Shira Banki to ascend to heaven," Shlissel, 39 and with a long beard, told the court in Occupied Jerusalem.

"If you care for her well-being... you must stop cursing against God. The parade marchers are bringing great harm upon the nation of Israel."

Besides the murder accusation, Shlissel was also charged with aggravated assault and six counts of attempted murder over the attack on the march last month in Jerusalem, the justice ministry said.

Shlissel has so far refused the help of a lawyer and said he does not accept the court's authority, but a psychiatric exam has found him fit to stand trial.

Three weeks before the July 30 stabbing, Shlissel was released from prison after serving a 10-year sentence for a similar attack that left three people maimed.

He had also posted a letter on the Internet speaking of the "abomination" of a Gay Pride parade being held in the Holy City and the need to stop it, even at the cost of one's life.

The attack has led to criticism of the Israeli security forces, with many questioning how Shlissel was allowed anywhere near the parade. The attack occurred in Jerusalem's city centre as hundreds were participating in the march.

An unrelated attack hours later on July 31 that saw a Paleostinian home in the West Bank Molotov cocktailed, killing an 18-month-old child and his father, focussed further attention on Jewish extremism.

#4  It probably means zip. If they hadn't noticed, prisoners have been burned in cages, drowned, women and children raped and killed, people crucified and many people beheaded. The U.N. is a bit late in their concern for antiquities.

#10  is this different than digging up a conferderate general? or destroying a confederate monument? from the ISIS perspective they see it as 'cleaning up'.

If the UN does not like it then they should step up to eliminate ISIS or protect the monuments.

Activists say displaced of Zabadani moved from pro-regime towns, warn of massacre
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] People of Zabadani town northwest Damascus, who fled the two-month-old offensive by Syrian forces and key ally Hezbollah militia, have been forced to leave neighboring towns of Bloudan and al-Mamoura under army threat to Madhaya and Bukin villages, activists said on Sunday warning of an imminent massacre.

25 families of them were transferred to unknown places in army vehicles, they said.

The displaced in the tourist town of Bloudan were moved without their luggage or personal properties to Madhaya and Bukin villages to isolate them from pro-regime towns as well to use them as human shields, according to activists.

Hezbollah faceless myrmidons and the army have controlled most of Zabadani city after intense aerial bombardments and heavy artillery fire on rebels hideouts.

The control of the city is seen as crucial to consolidate government-held areas linking Leb and Syria. Zabadani is a former popular resort on the main Beirut-Damascus highway, according to Rooters.

On Saturday, Salafist tough guys killed 20 Syrian army soldiers and Hezbollah Death Eaters in the western neighborhood of Zabadani, activists said.

Fighters of the dominant Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
movement and the al-Qaeda branch Nusra Front, who launched attacks on regime bastions nearby Zabadani to ease offensive on their fellow fighters, have taken control of number of checkpoints in the 'Eastern Mountain', killing 20 soldiers and Hezbollah hard boys.

Days ago, besieged rebels of Zabadani appealed to their counterparts near Damascus to send reinforcements and ammunition as well to escalate attacks to relieve pressure on them.

Zabadani capture would be a strategic gain for al-Assad, whose army is battling on several other fronts with groups including non-jihadist rebels and hardline Islamic State

Lebanese security forces use water cannon against protesters
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Lebanese security forces fired water cannon at protesters demonstrating against the government near Prime Minister Tammam Salam's offices in Beirut on Sunday, live television pictures showed.

Protesters threw projectiles at a line of riot police blocking a road to the Grand Saray government buildings in central Beirut.

On Saturday, some three dozen people were maimed when police used water cannon and tear gas against protesters who have mobilized over the government's failure to resolve a crisis over rubbish disposal.

Islamic State's destruction of Roman temple in Syria is war crime: UNESCO
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
's demolition of an renowned ancient Roman temple in the Syrian city of Palmyra is a war crime that targeted an historic symbol of the country's diversity, the U.N. cultural agency UNESCO said on Monday.
I'd call crucifying people a war crime, too. And selling people into slavery. And massacres. But maybe that's just me.
Ultra hardline Islamic State holy warriors blew up the temple of Baal Shamin on Sunday, Syria's antiquities chief Maamoun Abdulkarim said, describing the destruction of one of the most important sites in the central city.

"Such acts are war crimes and their perpetrators must be accountable for their actions," UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova said in a statement.

She also condemned the killing of Khaled al-Asaad, an 82-year-old archaeologist who had looked after Palmyra's UNESCO World Heritage ruins for four decades.

Abdulkarim said last week Islamic State had beheaded Asaad and hung his body from one of Palmyra's Roman-era columns. Before the capture of Palmyra by Islamic State, Syrian officials said they moved hundreds of ancient statues to safe locations out of concern the holy warriors would destroy them.

Islamic State, which holds parts of Syria and Iraq, seized the desert city of Palmyra in May from government forces but had initially left its ancient sites undamaged.

In June it blew up two shrines that were not part of its Roman-era structures but which it regarded as sacrilegious. It had also used Palmyra's Roman amphitheatre as a place for killing people it accused of being government supporters, according to a Syria monitoring group.

The Baal Shamin temple was built nearly 2,000 years ago and its inner area was severely damaged by the kaboom, which also caused surrounding columns to collapse, according to UNESCO.

"The art and architecture of Palmyra, standing at the crossroads of several civilizations, is a symbol of the complexity and wealth of the Syrian identity and history," Bokova said.

"Extremists seek to destroy this diversity and richness, and I call on the international community to stand united against this persistent cultural cleansing."

#1  Everyone can fight them, small and large. Fight with law and politics.

They are in your home town, those who campaign for sharia. So disrupt them.

Stop them levying fees in return for halal certification on your food.

Ring up Nestle and Kraft and find out if they are paying money to halal certification organisations and which ones and what they do with the money.

Then stop buying that food.

Go to debates and public meetings held by Islamist groups such as Hizb ut Tahrir. Refuse to be gender segregated. If they force you, take action under law.

You can fight them high and low. You can fight them by making sure antiquities from Palmyra do not turn up at antiquities auctions or on eBay and if you see them, report them.

We can all do something - even if it is just making sure the people around us know the difference between a secular Muslim (ally) and a theocratic fascist.

If your local newspaper reports an attempted Islamist fascist murder, such as the recent gunman on the train in France - and if they refuse to use the word "Islamist" (instead saying "Moroccan national" eg) then ring up and complain, and write a letter and complain.

Getting the authorities to acknowledge and name the threat of Islamofascism while at the same time upholding the freedom and dignity of secular Muslims, would be a great help to fighting the jihadi menace, in my humble opinion.
