| Germany's Merkel condemns 'disgusting' violence against refugees |

She was educated in East Germany when is was still run by commies, but in 1989 got involved with the growing democracy movement when the Berlin Wall fell. Merkel is sometimes referred to by Germans as Mom... and her government spoke out on Monday against violent protests against asylum seekers in the eastern German town of Heidenau over the weekend. "The chancellor and the whole government condemn in the strongest manner possible the violence and the aggressive atmosphere towards foreigners there," government front man Steffen Seibert told a regular news conference. Okay. Run off the right wing bully boyz. Where's the legitimate forum for concerns about the country being swamped by an alien culture? "It is disgusting how right-wing bully boyz and neo-Nazis attempt to spread their idiotic message of hatred around an asylum shelter," he said. At least 31 German coppers were hurt in scuffles with about 600 protesters in the early hours of Saturday, many hurling bottles and stones, angry about the arrival of asylum seekers. |
