The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
, went kaboom! on Wednesday night wounding at least four people.

According to Pajhwok, a considerable amount of office equipment was also damaged in the blast.

The blast took place at about 8pm and damaged tables, chairs, computers, video cameras and other equipment, reported Pajhwok.

Pajhwok correspondent in Nangarhar, Zeerak Fahim, reported that four people had been injured in the blast. Two were reportedly guests in the Voice of America Radio station, which is next door to the Pajhwok bureau, and two others, who owned a garment shop in the plaza, also sustained injuries.

The governor's front man, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, confirmed the blast but said only one person had been injured.

Pajhwok Afghan News editor-in-chief Danish Karokhel said his organization had no ties with any political party and were impartial in performing their journalistic duties.

Danish urged all parties to the conflict not to create hurdles for or target independent media outlets working to keep people informed.

He said the warring parties should respect freedom of expression and let media organizations do their jobs of highlighting people's problems, reported the news agency.

Karokhel urged government to pay increased attention to the security of media offices and to that of journalists in provinces. "We are committed to serving the masses and such threats will not deter our resolve."

Morocco Dismantles IS-Linked 'Terrorist' Cell
[AnNahar] Morocco on Thursday dismantled a seven-member "terrorist" cell linked to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group that was planning to abduct and murder tourists, the interior ministry said.

The suspects, whose identities were not revealed, had "pledged allegiance" to the jihadist IS group, the ministry said in a statement carried by the MAP news agency.

They were planning "terrorist operations" including attempts to "abduct and physically liquidate" tourists at seaside resorts, the statement added.

According to the interior ministry the suspects had undertaken "intensive paramilitary training" in a mountainous region of Morocco.

The arrests were made by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations, inaugurated in March as part of the kingdom's beefed-up war against extremism.

Morocco has frequently announced the arrest of "terrorist cells" and reported seizing weapons from groups authorities say have vowed allegiance to IS.

According to the British-based International Center for the Study of Radicalization, about 2,000 Moroccans are estimated to be fighting with IS in Iraq and Syria.

Al-Qaeda Fights ISIS in Libya over Leader's Killing
[al-Alam] Al-Qaeda-linked bandidos turbans are battling an ISIS affiliate in Eastern Libya after one of their leaders was rubbed out, Al-Alam TV reports.

Nasr Akr, an Al-Qaeda-inspired holy warrior, was assassinated along with his aide in the Eastern town of Darna.

The Shura Council of Darna's hard boyz announced his killing on Wednesday, blaming it on ISIS Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
holy warriors.

The killing sparked heavy fighting, leaving at least nine ISIS bandidos turbans dead, according to witnesses.

The ISIS seized control of Darna last year. The ISIS group began as an Al-Qaeda affiliate, but later fell out with the terrorist network.

Terrorists Killed a Policeman in Southern Mali
[al-Alam] Suspected terrorist killed a policeman in a rare attack in southern Mali on Wednesday, hoisting their black flag at the local military base, just days before the country's main Tuareg-led rebel movement is expected to sign a peace deal.

The West African nation remains divided among rival armed factions, plagued by drug trafficking and infiltrated by terrorist groups, but attacks outside the unrest-striken north of the country remain unusual.

A minister said "cowardly terrorists" killed a warrant officer in Misseni, near Mali's border with Ivory Coast, while a local councillor said "around 30 terrorists" briefly occupied the town's army camp.

The councillor said the Lions of Islam arrived at 2:00 am (0200 GMT), adding: "I heard gunshots in the Misseni military camp."

"They took control of the military camp where they put up their black flag."

The Lions of Islam opened fire on local coppers, killing the officer before escaping, according to the councillor, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

A Malian security source confirmed the policeman's death, adding that "the bully boyz led an organised attack".

Boko Haram Kills 43 in NE Nigeria Raids
[AnNahar] Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
gunnies killed at least 43 people and burned down three villages in northeast Nigeria
... a particularly crimson stretch of Islam's bloody border...
, residents told AFP Thursday, the latest in an upsurge of attacks by the Islamist turbans.

Dozens of rebels on cycle of violences stormed Matangale, Buraltima and Dirmanti in restive Borno state on Tuesday, opening fire on villagers before looting and burning homes, fleeing residents said.

News of the assault was slow to emerge due to poor communication in the region after Boko Haram destroyed telecoms masts in previous attacks.

"They came around 4:00 pm (1500 GMT) on 20 cycle of violences, three gunnies on each, and attacked Matangale before proceeding to Buraltima and Dirmanti,"‎ said resident Dala Tungushe.

"They killed 43 people and burned all the houses in the three villages after looting food supplies," Tungushe, who fled Matangale to Biu, some 90 kilometers (56 miles) away.

Matangale was worst hit by the attack as the attackers shot up an open well outside the village where residents had gathered to fetch drinking water and do their laundry.

"The Boko Haram gunnies opened fire on the crowd at the well where they killed around 16 people," said Bulama Karuye, another resident.

"In all, we lost 43 people in the attacks. All the three villages were completely burnt."

He added the number of casualties could have been much higher had some of the villagers not been away at a weekly market around 40 kilometers away.

Hundreds of residents of the affected villages, particularly women and kiddies, fled to nearby Damboa town where they had sought refuge in a primary school, both Tungushe and Karuye said.

They said the attackers ‎came from nearby Sambisa Forest, a major Boko Haram stronghold from where hundreds of women and kiddies kidnapped by the bandidos hard boyz were rescued during recent military operations.

Troops and local hunters from Damboa pursued the fleeing attackers into the bush and a shootout erupted‎.

"The soldiers and the hunters brought back a pickup truck and some cycle of violences they recovered from the Boko Haram attackers... but we don't know how many of the gunnies they killed," Tungushe said.

More than 150 people have been killed by Boko Haram since President Muhammadu Buhari took power on May 29, vowing to crush the bandidos hard boyz and end their bloody six-year insurgency.

Arabia
Saudi Air Force Commander Killed by Yemeni Missiles
[EN.ALALAM.IR] A well-known Saudi source rejected the reports that Lieutenant General Muhammad bin Ahmed al-Shaalan, the commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, has died of a heart attack, saying that his body was charred showing that he has been killed in an enemy attack.

Jamal Bean wrote on his Tweeter page that Shaalan and his accompanying team have been killed in the Yemeni army's missile attack since their corpses were scorched by the fire of a blast.

Yesterday and after the Saudi officials released the news on the death of the country's air force commander as a result of a heart attack, sources in New York challenged the Saudi news agency's report, saying the General was killed in Yemen's missile attacks.

The official Saudi Press Agency had quoted the Ministry of Defense as saying on Wednesday that Shaalan died of a heart attack during a work trip outside the kingdom.

But an informed Yemeni source who called for anonymity said in New York on Wednesday that "Shaalan was killed in the Yemeni army's missile attacks against Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
's Khamees al-Mushait region five days earlier".

The Yemeni army targeted Amir Khalid military base in Khamees al-Mushait region by a Scud missile earlier this week.

The Saudi army claimed that it had intercepted the Scud by two Patriot missiles, but the Arabic-language Al-Mayadeen news channel showed footage of the missile attack, reporting that it had hit the target.

Pakistani-U.S. Brothers Jailed for Terrorism, Assault
[AnNahar] Two Pak-American brothers were given hefty jail terms in Florida on Thursday for terrorism and for assaulting two federal agents while in jug.

Raees Qazi, 22, and Sheheryar Qazi, 32, both naturalized U.S. citizens from Pakistain, were sentenced to 35 years and 20 years respectively by Judge Beth Bloom in the southern district of Florida.

They pleaded guilty in Miami last March to terrorism charges after being accused of planning to bomb New York.

Although the attack never got past the planning stages, police said they found material in their Florida apartment that could be used to make a bomb.

The pair also pleaded guilty to attacking two federal employees while being escorted to court in 2014.

Raees confessed to wanting to carry out an attack in New York, and was encouraged by his older brother to travel to Afghanistan and then by al-Qaeda's Yemen

offshoot to attack within the United States.

He never made it to Afghanistan, but admitted to consulting al-Qaeda's online English-language magazine Inspire on how to build a bomb using Christmas tree lights.

Raees went to New York in November 2012 intending to carry out the attack, while his older brother lied to friends and family about his intentions and whereabouts, prosecutors said.

When he telephoned from New York to say the attack had not happened, Sheheryar told him to come back to Florida to "practice over here" before heading back to the Big Apple, U.S. officials said.

U.S. Teen Facing 15 Years in Prison for Internet Aid to IS
[AnNahar] A tech-savvy U.S. teen pleaded guilty in court on Thursday to using social media to aid the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group, a crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Ali Shukri Amin, 17, a resident of Virginia, admitted in court to providing advice and encouragement to IS and its supporters.

"Guilty, sir," the teen answered, when asked by the judge in the court in Alexandria, Virginia to state his plea to the charges.

With a slender build and wearing a trace of a moustache, the high school student admitted to having sent more than 7,000 Tweets in support of IS.

Under the Twitter handle @Amreekiwitness, Amin provided IS supporters instruction on using the virtual currency Bitcoin to conceal financial donations to the radical Islamist group and the best way to encrypt their online exchanges.

The teenager also expressed support for jihad on his al-Khilafah Aridat blog.

And he used what the FBI official leading the investigation called his "prolific online presence" to offer guidance to supporters seeking to travel to Syria to fight with IS.

"Around the nation, we are seeing ISIL use social media to reach out from the other side of the world," said John Carlin, U.S. Assistant Attorney for National Security, using the acronym most frequently employed by Washington officials when referring to IS.

"Their messages are reaching America in an attempt to radicalize, recruit and incite our youth and others to support ISIL's violent causes," he said.

The Justice Department said Amin also facilitated travel for another young ISIS recruit, Reza Niknejad, 18, who traveled to Syria to join the group in January. Niknejad was charged Wednesday in federal court in Virginia with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists, conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and conspiring to kill and injure people abroad.

Carlin, in a statement, issued a warning to parents to closely monitor their kids' online interactions.

"This case serves as a wake-up call that ISIL's propaganda and recruitment materials are in your communities and being viewed by your youth," the federal prosecutor said. "This challenge requires parental and community awareness and action to confront and deter this threat wherever it surfaces."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Lebanese, American Officials Mark Delivery of U.S. Missiles in Bekaa Ceremony
[AnNahar] Lebanese and American officials gathered Wednesday in a training field in the Baalbek area of al-Taybeh to mark the delivery of more than 200 anti-tank missiles the United States says will help Leb's army defend its borders against terrorists.
About half will go to Hizb'allah forces in Syria for use against ISIS, so they won't go to waste.
The 200 U.S.-made TOW-II missiles and launchers, valued more than $10 million, were delivered in late May as part of a joint U.S.-Saudi effort to support Leb's army, said U.S. Ambassador to Leb David Hale.

"We are absolutely committed to making sure that the army has the capacity to be the sole defender of Lebanese territory and its borders, and is answerable to the state and to the Lebanese people through the state," he said.

Lebanese soldiers fired TOW missiles and artillery, drove through the hills of the Bekaa Valley, and flew over the area in helicopters.

The four-year civil war in neighboring Syria has seen violence spill over into Leb.

group, have sought refuge in the rocky terrain on the Syrian-Lebanese border.

In August last year, the Lebanese army clashed with these groups when they briefly overran the border town of Arsal.

Since then, the U.S. has provided Leb's armed forces with $82.5 million in weapons and ammunition, according to the U.S. embassy.

"This is a long term commitment, and we will stand by Leb's side in this regard until these forces of Evil are defeated," Hale said.

The U.S.-made TOW-IIs are the same kind delivered by Western backers to Syrian rebels in April 2014.

The new delivery comes in addition to artillery and ammunition that the U.S. provided to Leb in February.

A $3 billion Saudi-funded program also brought French-made anti-tank guided missiles to Leb in April, to be followed over the next four years by combat and transport vehicles, three small warships, and a range of surveillance and communications.

Palestinian Security Forces Dismantle Bomb in Ain el-Hilweh
[AnNahar] The Paleostinian joint security force dismantled on Thursday a bomb in the southern Ein el-Hellhole Paleostinian refugee camp, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said the bomb was placed in a box in the camp's al-Zeeb neighborhood.

The agency did not specify who could have been the target of the bomb.

But Voice of Leb radio (100.5) said the explosive was placed near the office of Fatah official Jamal Awad.

The joint security force has deployed in several of Leb's Paleostinian refugee camps to clamp down on violence.

By long-standing convention, the Lebanese army does not enter the country's 12 camps, leaving security inside to the Paleostinians themselves.
Does anyone remember if whichever Salafist group it was that invaded Ain El Hilweh was eventually driven out again, or are they still there in the abandoned houses previously inhabited by the poor of Lebanon after the Palestinian "refugees" left for nicer environs?

A third suspect and his wife, who managed to flee the area taking with them identity papers, were arrested later in the day at an army checkpoint in the Bekaa town of Ferzol.

They hail from Syria's Raqqa and confessed to belonging to the terrorist group.

On Wednesday, the army arrested nine Syrians on suspicion of their links to terrorist groups.

Several suspected jihadist members have been arrested in recent months throughout Leb.

Syrian rebel alliance says captures air base in south
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] A Syrian rebel alliance said it had captured an air base from the army in southern Syria on Thursday, a gain that would compound setbacks for Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
One of the last of the old-fashioned hereditary iron-fisted fascist dictators...
in the area after losing a nearby military base this week.

Issam al-Rayyes, front man for the Southern Front alliance of rebel groups, said al-Thala air base in Sweida province had been "liberated." Syrian officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

A second rebel commander however said the base had yet to fall to the krazed killers. Bashar al-Zoubi, head of the Yarmouk Army, said he expected that to happen before the day ended.

Al-Nusra kills 20 Druze
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least 20 members of Syria's Druze minority have been killed in an unprecedented shoot-out with Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front in northwestern Syria, a monitor said on Thursday.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the deaths came Wednesday in the village of Qalb Lawzah in Idlib province, most of which is now controlled by an alliance including Al-Nusra.

Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said villagers had protested after a Tunisian Al-Nusra leader "tried to seize a house belonging to a Druze resident of Qalb Lawzah, claiming he was loyal to the regime."

"Relatives of the owner of the house protested and tried to stop him, then there was an altercation and shooting," he added.

"The Tunisian leader brought his men and accused the Druze residents of the village of blasphemy and opened fire on them killing at least 20 people, among them elderly people and at least one child."

Abdel Rahman said some of the villagers had weapons and returned fire, killing three members of Al-Nusra.

The Druze deaths were reported by Syria's official SANA news agency, which accused Al-Nusra and allied Islamist rebel group Ahrar al-Sham
...a Syria jihadi group made up of Islamists and salafists, not that there's that much difference, formed into a brigade. They make up the main element of the Islamic Front but they don't profess adoration of al-Qaeda and they've been fighting (mainly for survival) against the Islamic State. Their leadership was wiped out at a single blow by a suicide kaboom at a crowded basement meeting in September, 2014...
of an "appalling massacre committed against the poeple of Qalb Lawzah that claimed the lives of at least 30 people."

Quoting local sources, SANA said the dead included five members of a single family, three holy mans and two women.

The agency also said the "terrorists... looted and burned dozens of homes."

The Druze, followers of a secretive offshoot of Shiite Islam, made up around three percent of Syria's pre-war population of 23 million people.

Kurds advance towards ISIS-held Syria border town
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Syrian Kurdish fighters advanced towards the Islamic State

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group-held town of Tal Abyad on the Turkish border on Thursday, backed by U.S.-led coalition strikes, a monitor said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) forces backed by Arab rebel fighters "stormed the town of Suluk and took control of the eastern part of it."

Fierce festivities continued through the day between ISIS and Kurdish forces.

Suluk, in the ISIS bastion province of Raqqa in northern Syria, lies to the east of Tal Abyad, a key border town that is controlled by the holy warrior group.

The town is a key target for the Kurds who want to free up the route between Kobane to the west and Qamishli, further east along the Turkish border.

With their advance into Suluk, YPG forces are now some 20 kilometers east of Tal Abyad, and they are also positioned around 10 kilometers to the west.

"The Kurds plan to lay siege to Tal Abyad," observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said.

The YPG has been backed by U.S.-led air strikes targeting ISIS positions in the area, he added.

The latest fighting in the area has prompted a wave of several thousand people to flee into neighboring The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
, which is already hosting 1.8 million Syrians.

A Turkish official told AFP that in the past week 7,000 refugees had fled to Turkey to escape the fighting and another 6,600 had joined them since Wednesday.

Syrian Opposition Members as US Puppets
[EN.ALALAM.IR] Head of the Syrian Lawyers Association Nazar Sakif blasted expatriate opposition figures for their support for the disintegration of Syria, saying that they are US puppets to implement its plots in the region.

Speaking about the Monday and Tuesday conference of the Syrian opposition in Cairo, Sakif slammed the gathering because "it saw disintegration of Syria as the solution to this problem".

"The expatriate Syrian opposition proved in the Cairo conference's statement that they are just "pawns on the chess board", and the enemies move them in a way that they can implement the Zionist-US plot to disintegrate the region into several small tribal countries.

The second Cairo conference for Syrian opposition forces started in the Egyptian capital on 8 June, despite a boycott by the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and opposition forces and growing tensions among the participants.
