[Tolo News] A Taliban leader and four other gunnies were killed in a clash with Afghan National Security Forces in northern Faryab province on Monday night, local officials said.
Eight other gunnies were maimed including another Taliban leader in the clash.
The clash took place in Khaja Sabz Posh district of Faryab when Taliban gunnies attacked a number of Afghan police outposts, a front man for Faryab Police Chief, Sayed Massoud Yaqoubi said.
"The clash ended after an hour," Yaqoubi said. "During the clash an Afghan policeman was injured."

[Libya Herald] Fighting is still taking place in the Warshefana area between mainly Zintani forces linked the Libyan National Army and those supporting Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... . The festivities are said to have been concentrated today at a small village named Al-Kasart, south of Aziziya but before the Jebel Nafusa escarpment.
Meanwhile the Red Islamic Thingy has managed to send aid including medicines and water to the temporary field hospital in Kikla where fighting also continues although Zintani forces again claim they are in control of much of the mountain town. According to Colonel Ajmi Al-Atiri, one of the Zintani commanders, his forces seized an education building in the centre of the town yesterday.
The hospital has been suffering acute shortages of not only medicines and medical equipment but also of staff able to deal with the emergency. The Red Islamic Thingy in Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... is said to be trying to open a safe passage to the town which is entirely surrounded by Zintani and Libyan Army forces to enable humanitarian aid to get through.
At least 142 people are reported to have been killed in Kikla since the fighting started three and half weeks ago and another 518 maimed, according to Buwabat Al-Wasat. It quoted a doctor at the hospital saying that the figure was only those fighting for Libya Dawn. He did not know the number of dead or maimed among the Zintanis and the army.
The fighting appears to have again intensified in and around the strategically important town which, through firepower, can control a number of roads in and out of the Jebel. On Saturday, it was reported that 12 people had been killed in fighting in the area. This is said to have risen to 20 dead by Sunday evening.
It is impossible to known exactly what is happening in both Kikla and the Warshefana district, other than that fighting is still taking place. There are no independent journalists in the area and both sides are presenting the news to suit their own purposes.

[An Nahar] Suspected Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... gunnies launched a series of attacks in Nigeria's restive northeast on Tuesday, opening fire on troops in one town before raiding a French-owned factory in another, witnesses said.
The violence in Gombe state came just after midday and began with a shootout at a military checkpoint on the outskirts of Nafada town.
Multiple residents said Islamists overwhelmed the soldiers before entering Nafada where they set fire to a cop shoppe, robbed a bank and razed a political party office.
They then drove off in 4x4 trucks and on cycle of violences to the town of Ashaka 20 kilometers (12 miles) away, where the French industrial giant Lafarge has a cement plant.
Staff at the Ashaka plant said Frenchies were on site at the time of the raid, but there was no firm evidence about their condition, with the security forces and officials in Gombe unavailable to comment.
The twin attacks underscored the worsening security situation in the northeast, where violence has continued at a relentless pace despite government claims of a truce with the Salafist tough guys.
"They came in large numbers in vans and on cycle of violences, shouting Allahu Akbar (God is greater)," said Nafada resident Abubakar Galda, in an account supported by other locals and a rescue worker.
Nafada is near the border with Yobe, a state under emergency rule since last year because of the Islamist uprising and where Boko Haram is believed to control several towns and villages.
If confirmed as an Islamist attack, the violence would be consistent with Boko Haram's recent pattern of striking south of their stronghold in the extreme northeast.
Inside Nafada the gunnies "blew up a cop shoppe with rocket propelled grenades", said Galda.
Another resident, Awwalu Ibrahim, said they then razed the local headquarters of the country's ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
Multiple witnesses said the suspected hard boyz also robbed a bank, a common feature of Islamist raids.
The group is thought to be funding its insurgency increasingly through theft and ransom kidnappings.
Gunmen arrived in Ashaka -- where Lafarge has run a cement plant since 1974 -- at roughly 3:00 pm (1400 GMT), according to Amadu Wunti, who works at the site.
They looted dynamite and demanded to be taken to the rooms in the compound where the expatriate managers stay, Wunti said.
He identified the expatriates as Frenchies but that could not be independently confirmed.
He said the plant was mostly empty, with staff having run to safety when news spread that the gunnies were approaching.
"It is not clear if the expatriates also ran along with other senior staff," Wunti told AFP. "No one knows the fate of the expatriates."
Wunti's account was supported by several others, including Sa'adu Balarabe, a teacher at the local boarding school, who said the gunnies made off with trucks stolen from the Lafarge site.
The violence comes after a triple bombing at a bus station in the state capital Gombe City last week, which killed at least eight people and injured dozens of others.

[AnNahar] Overnight drone strikes killed at least 20 suspected al-Qaeda murderous Moslems in Yemen, where Washington has conducted a sustained drone war against jihadist leaders, tribal sources and witnesses said on Tuesday.
The twin raids targeted al-Qaeda positions near Rada, a central town which has been the focus of deadly fighting between the jihadists and advancing Iranian catspaws, the sources said.
The United States is the only country operating drones over Yemen, but U.S. officials rarely confirm individual strikes.
Washington regards al-Qaeda's Yemen branch as its most dangerous and there has been no let-up in the drone war even as the jihadists battle the Iranian catspaws alongside Sunni tribes.
The rebels, known as Huthis from the name of their leading family, overran the capital Sanaa in September and have since advanced south from the mainly Shiite northern highlands into Sunni majority areas.
The Rada area is confessionally mixed and has seen deadly festivities in recent weeks.
Armed rustics killed 22 rebels in a series of attacks in the area late on Monday, tribal sources said.
The attacks came as a four-day ultimatum expired for the rebels to withdraw, one tribal source told Agence La Belle France Presse.
The rebels captured several areas around Rada late last month after a suspected U.S. drone strike and raids by the Yemeni air force killed dozens of al-Qaeda murderous Moslems and their Sunni tribal allies.
The Huthis have seized on chronic instability in Yemen since the 2012 ouster of veteran strongman President-for-Life Ali Abdullah Saleh ... Saleh initially took power as a strongman of North Yemen in 1977, when disco was in flower, but he didn't invite Donna Summer to the inauguration and Blondie couldn't make it... to take control of large parts of the country.
The fighting has raised fears that Yemen -- which neighbours oil kingpin Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... and lies on the key shipping route from the Suez Canal to the Gulf -- may collapse into a failed state.
The rebels took the Red Sea port of Hudeida last month and the army deployed hundreds of allied murderous Moslems in the southern city of Aden on Tuesday to thwart any move by either the rebels or al-Qaeda to seize the country's most important port and oil refining center.
"We came to Aden to protect security and military institutions as well as vital installations, in coordination with the leadership of the fourth military region," militia commander Abdullatif al-Sayed told AFP.
"We will confront any gang attempting to undermine security and stability in Aden, whether the Huthis or al-Qaeda," he added.
Sayed was speaking after talks with General Mahmoud al-Subaihi, commander of the fourth military region, which includes Yemen's third largest city Taez, as well as second city Aden.
The Iranian catspaws did not enter mainly Sunni Taez after a deal was reached between the provincial authorities and rebel representatives to avoid any fighting in the city of nearly 500,000 people.

[ARABNEWS] Yemeni security officials say more than 30 people have been killed in festivities between Shiite Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to Americaâ¢, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... rebels and tribal fighters backed by Al-Qaeda snuffies in the embattled town of Radda south of the capital Sanaa.
The officials said the two sides traded heavy artillery fire that lasted until early Tuesday, killing several civilians and damaging houses and cars. The indiscriminate shelling has forced dozens of families to flee the town.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity according to military regulations.
Some 250 people were killed late last month in fighting between the Houthis, who control large parts of Radda, and the Qifa tribe. The Houthis swept down from their northern strongholds and overran Sanaa in September.

[ARABNEWS] Security forces on Tuesday tossed in the calaboose Don't shoot, coppers! I'm comin' out! nine suspects in a bloody attack on a Shiite gathering in the Eastern Province, a police official said.
The attack happened late Monday evening in the village of Al-Dalwah in Al-Ahsa governorate.
A Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report earlier said the attackers shot the victims with pistols and machine guns, killing at least five people and wounding several others.
SPA quoted an unnamed Interior Ministry official as saying six suspects had been arrested near Riyadh, and in two areas in the country's east for having links to what it called a "terrorist crime."
A police source told Arab News that three more suspects were also arrested and an investigation is under way.
Witnesses said the attack happened inside a Shiite mosque as worshippers were marking Ashoura, a Shiite holy day. Sunni Lions of Islam in neighboring Iraq frequently target Shiites during the holiday.
"As a group of citizens was leaving a building...three masked men shot up them with machine guns and pistols," a police front man said, adding that the incident was under investigation.
The witnesses spoke on condition of anonymity because of fear of reprisals.
Amateur video posted online purported to show the inside of the Shiite mosque, called Husseiniya. Pools of could be seen on the floor and a witness held several spent rifle shell casings.
"There is blood everywhere. They entered inside the Husseiniya and started to open fire with rifles," said one of the people in the video.
The authenticity of the video could not be independently confirmed.
A witness said two of the holy mans claimed to have been tipped off the attack warned two hours before it happened.
A local rights activist said that the victims were mostly young men who were standing at the entrance of the local gathering place, known as Huseiniya, where the commemorative ceremony was taking place.

[An Nahar] La Belle France on Tuesday adopted an anti-terrorism law which will slap a travel ban on anyone suspected of planning to wage jihad after the upper house Senate gave its final stamp of approval.
The law comes as authorities are increasingly worried about the number of French citizens traveling to fight in Iraq and Syria who could potentially come back and stage attacks in their home country.
But while the majority of senators approved the bill, those from the Green and far-right parties abstained while the Communists voted against it over fears it will curtail freedoms.
The travel ban included in the law will see suspects have their passports and ID cards confiscated for six months, with the measure renewable for up to two years.
It also brings in punishment for "lone wolves" who plan terrorist attacks on their own, and allows authorities to block entry to any EU citizen or their relatives if their presence in La Belle France constitutes a threat.
"La Quadrature du Net", a French group that defends online rights, has previously slammed the bill as "unsuitable, dangerous and destructive of freedoms".
Authorities say more than 1,000 nationals or French residents are involved in one way or another in jihadist networks.
A total of 46 of these have been killed, they say.
While some grow disillusioned when they arrive in Syria and Iraq, authorities fear that others could become indoctrinated, come home and carry out attacks on home soil.

[DAWN] A boom jacket was found in the parking lot of Wagah border parade venue during a search operation on Monday, a day after more than 60 people had bit the dust in a devastating suicide kaboom at the place.
The boom jacket alarmed police and law-enforcement agencies and bomb disposal personnel were called in to defuse it.
An operation was launched in areas around the border crossing in view of intelligence reports about presence of some 'controllers' there.
DIG Dr Haider Ashraf told Dawn that 25 suspects had been taken into custody from Wagah and some other areas in Punjab.
A TV channel claimed that one of the placed in durance vile Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! men had informed the Sherlocks that there were more suicide jackets in the area.
The suspect said the vests had been brought from Afghanistan.
But police did not confirm the report.

[DAWN] Two security personnel and two peace committee members of Tauheedul Islam were killed and two others injured in a blast in Zakakhel Bazaar of Khyber Agency's Landi Kotal area.
Official sources say that a joint party of security forces and peace committee members was targeted in Painda Cheena area of Zakakhel.
The blast left two security personnel and as many Tauheedul Islam activists dead. One security man was also among those injured in the kaboom.

Rescue and security personnel reached the blast site and began shifting the victims to a nearby hospital.
The security forces launched a search operation soon after the attack. Further details regarding the nature and intensity of the blast were not available till the filing of this report.

At least two more security personnel were maimed when another blast occurred in Zakakhel bazaar shortly after the first one,
The security forces were targeted when they were shifting the victims of the first blast.
Security forces also claimed to have enjugged Drop the gat, Rocky, or you're a dead 'un! ten suspects during a search operation in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber agency.
Khyber is one of Pakistain's seven semi-autonomous regions governed by tribal laws and lies near the Afghan border. The Taliban and other Al Qaeda-linked groups who stage attacks in both Pakistain and Afghanistan are also known to have strongholds in the zone.
The development comes amid Operation Khyber I which was launched in Khyber tribal agency on credible information about the presence of murderous Moslems in parts of Sipah and Akkakhel areas, according to Shahab Ali Shah.

[DAWN] Levies sources told Dawn.com that an operation was conducted near the Pakistain-Iran border in district Chaghi to free 12 kidnapped Afghan nationals.
The Levies personnel faced resistance from the kidnappers and an exchange of gunfire continued for over an hour.
"Four kidnappers were also tossed in the clink Drop the heater, Studs, or you're hist'try! during the operation," said a source, giving no details about the identity of kidnappers.
Levies also recovered two Kalashnikov rifles, two vehicles and 25 mobile phones from the possession of the kidnappers.
More Levies personnel were called in to the area to arrest the remaining kidnappers, sources said.
Kidnapping gangs are reported to be active Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... 's Chaghi district, which borders neighbouring Afghanistan and Iran.
Chaghi is also considered to be a transit route for narcos from Afghanistan's Helmand ...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province to the Gulf countries and Iran.

[DAWN] SIALKOT: At least three children were killed Thursday when a mortar shell earlier fired by Indian forces from across the border went kaboom! in Tughalpura village of Narowal district.
According to DawnNews, the children had found the previously undetonated shell last month after it landed in a field in the village close to Pakistain's border with India.
Mistaking the shell for a toy, the children ‐ 8-year-old Saira, 11-year-old Hunzala and 12-year-old Hafeez ‐ had been playing with the mortar before it went kaboom! in the field today.
Another 10-year-old child Azhar Ali, who was also injured in the kaboom, was shifted to Sialkot's Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif ... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf... took notice of the incident and ordered the Punjab government and security agencies to investigate the matter.

[ARABNEWS] India's navy on Tuesday withdrew two warships from Kolkata's port, a front man said, as the eastern city was placed on high alert for a possible "terror" attack.
The navy said the ships had withdrawn for "prior operational reasons," although a port official indicated they had been due to take part in an exhibition on Wednesday.
"They had come there as part of preparations for the navy week exercise and moved out of the port for some prior operational reasons," front man D.K. Sharma told AFP.
"Like every year, the ships will return as and when the opportunity exists." The move came as police and the Indian Coast Guard said the city and port had been placed on high alert for a possible attack.
"We have received a fax on Tuesday afternoon from central intelligence agencies warning of the possibility of a terror attack in Kolkata, especially in the port area," senior Indian Coast Guard official B.N. Mahato told AFP.
"We have deployed hovercraft to intensify (a) night-long vigil in the Bay of Bengal." Kolkata Police Commissioner Surojit Karpurakayastha said security had been stepped up in the port area and parts of the city.

[BREITBART] A Christian couple, 35-year-old Shahzad Masih and his 31-year-old wife Shama Bibi, were burned to death Tuesday morning by a Moslem mob in the south of Lahore (Punjab province), accused of committing blasphemy for allegedly burning pages of the Qur'an.
The two, who worked in a clay-baking factory, were kidnapped on November 2 and held hostage for two days inside the factory. On Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. the two were beaten and then pushed into the brick kiln. Shama was pregnant.
According to Sardar Mushtaq Gill, a lawyer and human rights ...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty... defender who visited the scene of the event, the supposed blasphemy occurred upon the recent death of the Shahzad's father. Two days ago, Shama was cleaning her father-in-law's house, and in the process burned some personal items and papers that seemed useless. A Moslem man saw what she was doing and spread the word in the surrounding villages that the papers she burned included pages of the Koran. A mob of over 100 people formed, and took the couple hostage, finally executing them Tuesday.
Emaneul Sarfraz, a relative of the dear departed couple, offered a slightly different version of the events. According to Sarfraz, his cousin Shahzad and his wife Shama had been working in the kiln of Muhammad Yousuf Gujjar.
"The couple along with their four children wanted to leave the kiln as Yousuf was not paying their remuneration. He demanded Rs 5,00,000 from them, if they wanted to quit."
"Two days ago, after an exchange of words Yousuf locked the couple along with their children in a room," Sarfraz said. After two local mosques announced the alleged blasphemy, "a large number of Moslems led by area holy mans reached the kiln and dragged the couple out of the room after breaking into it. They first tortured them and then threw them in the kiln," he said.
According to another report, as the Christian couple was burning and protesting their innocence, the mob was shouting "Allah hu Akbar," "death to blasphemers," and "kill the infidel Christians," at which Christian residents nearby fled from their homes to safety.
The same report claims that it was the owner of the brick Kiln factory, Yousaf Gujjar, and his manager who instigated Moslems of nearby villages to punish Shahzad and Shama after a Moslem employee complained of them burning of pages of the Qur'an.
The police, alerted by other Christians, came to the scene, substantiated the death and brought in 35 people for questioning.
A local cop shoppe official Bin-Yameen confirmed that "a mob attacked a Christian couple after accusing them of desecration of the holy Koran and later burnt their bodies at a brick kiln where they worked."
Dr. Nazir Bhatti, president of the Pakistain Christian Congress, said in a statement that Pak blasphemy laws are a license for Moslems to kill Christians. "Blasphemy laws are only legislated to target religious minorities in Pakistain," Bhatti said.
Gill called the act "barbaric and inhumane," calling for the whole world to "strongly condemn this incident, which shows the increased danger for Christians in Pakistain." A simple accusation "is sufficient to be victims of lynching. We'll see if anyone is punished for this murder," he said.
According to AFP, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif ...Pak dynastic politician, brother of PM Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Punjab... has established a three-member committee to investigate the killings and has ordered the police to reinforce security in Christian neighborhoods in the province.

[Iraq News] On Tuesday, a local source in Al-Anbar province stated that 40 people were killed and injured in mortar attacks that took place in western Ramadi.

Shammari added, "Changes in uniforms and outward appearances of ISIS elements are an indicator of serious attempts to find ways to escape after blockading their strongholds over the past few weeks."

Ok, no problem. Passport checks an Biometric ID's for all detained MAMS (Military Age Males). Log the data into international terror data-bases, and make sure the country of origin gets the data asap.

Kind of what the 'Fedayeen Saddam' to hide themselves among the locals did during the 2003 invasion.
A quick check by the American forces as to the type of footwear the 'displaced refugees' they encountered wore usually gave the bad guys away. The locals generally wore cheap beat-up shoes or flip-flops. The Fedayeen did not.

A van rammed into a group of pedestrians waiting for Jerusalem's Light Rail, killing one person and wounding a number of others, in what seems to be an additional terror attack on Wednesday. The suspected terrorist was identified as a Hamas operative from East Jerusalem.
Hamas has taken responsibility for Wednesday's deadly terror attack and spokesman Mushir al-Masri praised the terrorist, saying that that it was an act of revenge “for al-Aqsa and for the blood of those who guard Al-Aqsa.”
[Ynet] Ibrahim al-Akari – terrorist behind Jerusalem's terror attack – is a known Hamas operative from East Jerusalem; his brother was freed from prison as part of Shalit prisoner exchange deal after murdering Nissim Toledano.
Ibrahim al-Akari, the suspected driver in Wednesday's deadly terror attack which saw one Israeli killed and at least 14 wounded, is a known Hamas operative, and his brother was serving a life sentence for murdering an Israeli police officer until he was freed in the Shalit prisoner exchange deal.
Akari rammed his van into a group of Border Patrol forces and then continued to plow into a group of pedestrians, only to continue his attack on foot, attempting to hit pedestrians with a metal rod. He was then shot and killed by the police.
Akari is said to be a known Hamas operative from Shuafat, a flashpoint East Jerusalem neighborhood which has been scene to numerous clashes between Palestinians and security forces.
He is the brother of Musa Akari, who was sentenced to three consecutive life sentences for his role in the murder of Israeli police officer Nissim Toledano in 1992. He was released as part of the prisoner exchange deal that saw Gilad Shalit go free from Hamas captivity after five years, and was deported to Turkey.
Toledano was kidnapped on December 13, 1992 on his way to the Border Control headquarters, and ransom demands were made some two hours later. Toledano's body was then found near Kfar Adomim and a massive wave of arrests followed.
Toledano's daughter wrote that "I am in shock, I just learned that the man behind today's terror attack is the brother of the terrorist that killed my dad. 21 years have passed, but nothing changes. When we free terrorists with blood on their hands, we're just shooting ourselves in the foot," Sapir Halutz wrote.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday condemned a deadly car attack in Jerusalem saying it was a "terrorist act" that "only raises tensions" in the tinderbox region.
Speaking ahead of a meeting with Jordan's foreign minister in Paris, Kerry told reporters: "That is not just a terrorist act and an ... atrocity, but it only makes matters worse. It only raises tensions."
"We urge everybody to try to step back and find a way to create enough calm and enough space to be able to negotiate these difficult issues," he added.

Speaking to AFP by telephone from inside Kobane, the commander said the peshmerga were manning artillery in support of local Syrian Kurdish militia fighters, who have been battling the jihadists for nearly seven weeks.
"We are 150 well-trained peshmerga and we are here only to provide support," said the commander, speaking on condition of anonymity ... for fear of being murdered... "We have been heavily shelling Islamic State positions in Kobane, which has helped the (Syrian Kurdish) People's Protection Units (YPG)," the commander said.
The peshmerga crossed the Turkish border into Kobane at the weekend after traveling across Turkey from Iraq's northern autonomous Kurdish region.
IS has seized control of large parts of Syria and Iraq and the Iraqi Kurds have been a key fighting force in preventing the group's further advance in Iraq.
"We have fought IS in Iraq. There is no difference at all between the jihadists we fought in Iraq and those we are fighting in Kobane. They use the same weapons," said the commander.
Up to 4,000 jihadists are fighting some 1,500 to 2,000 members of the YPG in Kobane, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britannia-based monitoring group.
The town has become a highly visible symbol of the international campaign against the jihadist group.
"Since our arrival, IS has tried to advance... but it has failed because we pushed them back," the commander said, adding that the Kurds had killed "a large number" of jihadists since Friday.

ADP leader Ali Eid and his son Rifaat managed to flee to Syria although dozens of runaways from both districts were arrested.
Tuesday's arrests come amid heightened security measures by the army, which fought deadly festivities with Islamist gunnies last month in Tripoli and the nearby regions of Dinniyeh, Bhannine and al-Mhammara.

(Istanbul) – Kurdish children from the Syrian city of Kobani (or Ain al-`Arab in Arabic) were tortured and abused while detained by Islamic State (also known as ISIS), Human Rights Watch said today. Four children gave detailed accounts of the suffering they endured while held for four months with about 100 other children.
The children, aged 14 to 16, were among 153 Kurdish boys whom ISIS abducted on May 29, 2014, as they traveled home to Kobani. According to Syrian Kurdish officials and media reports, ISIS released the last 25 of the children on October 29. Interviewed one by one in Turkey, where they had fled to safety after ISIS released them in late September, the four boys described enduring repeated beatings with a hose and electric cable, as well as being forced to watch videos of ISIS beheadings and attacks.
One child who muttered “Oh Mother!” when he was caught in another group’s room was strung up, suspended with his hands tied behind his back, one foot tied to his hands, and told he should call on God, not his mother.
