#4 Kind of what the 'Fedayeen Saddam' to hide themselves among the locals did during the 2003 invasion.

A quick check by the American forces as to the type of footwear the 'displaced refugees' they encountered wore usually gave the bad guys away. The locals generally wore cheap beat-up shoes or flip-flops. The Fedayeen did not.
