Two years ago, President Evo Morales, of Incan/Aymaran descent, claimed the rights to all three branches of government, and his goons were eliminating opponents in the dead of night.
In January 2011, Morales introduced legislation that grants legal rights to the Earth and provides an ombudsman to hear natures complaints as voiced by the all-knowing high priests of deep ecology, who claim to be spiritually in touch with Nature.
The worship of Pachamama, the fertility Goddess of Nature, is now a fundamental element in the law code of Bolivia, and Morales (in his commitment to Pachamama and to the ancient Incan religion of Bolivia) is supported by a shadow cabinet of shamans, who sacrifice llamas as part of this spirituality.
Bolivia has become perhaps the first example of a neo-Marxist state that is religiously, occultically pagan.
Bolivia just tabled a treaty at the United Nations, giving Mother Earth the same global rights as humanscomplete with enforceable laws, by 2014.
On April 22, 2011 the UN declared the second International Mother Earth Day, which the White House heralded on Easter weekend in an eight-paragraph statementwhile making no mention of Easter.
The international Pachamama Alliances mission is to empower indigenous people of the Amazon rainforest to preserve their lands and culture [and] to bring forth a sustainable world.
Van Jones, President Obamas 2010 green jobs czar is a board member of the Pachamama Alliance, which claims a close relationship with the UN Development Program. Clearly, these ideas are circulating in the highest circles of political power.
Jones is also a member of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which merges ecology, politics and progressive spirituality.
Other members include the UNs Maurice Strong, Deepak Chopra, Michael Lerner, Matthew Fox, Stanislav Grof, Jean Houston, Starhawk, Brian Swimme, Richard Tarnas, Neale Donald Walsch, Marianne Williamson and Barbara Marx Hubbard, an infamous collective of neo-pagans.
This agenda is more advanced than we might imagine, thanks to Maurice Strong and Mikhail Gorbachev. Their 2002 Earth Charter, a document determining environmental and ethical life on the planet for all nations, was received at the UN as the new law for the global age.
The native peoples on the committee exulted because, for the first time an international document expressed their [religiously pagan] worldview. For now, the Earth Charter is soft law, but proponents are working to make it hard law for the entire planet.

Next, they will forcibly empty all the cities, kill all the "smart guys", and collectivise the surviving/diminishing few on killing fields of green.
Seems familiar in a deja vu all over again sort of way, doesn't it Pol Evo?

Good ol' Ricardo "Dirty" Sanchez, Mr. "Abu Ghraib" hisself.
Actually, if he truly wants a divorce from that scandal, running as a Democrat will help, because the MSM will retroactively sanitize his history for him. Deleted archives, rewritten editorials, the lot.
San Francisco's much-heralded "social justice" requirements for city contracts are costing local taxpayers millions of dollars a year in overcharges, according to workers in departments ranging from the Municipal Transportation Agency to the Department of Emergency Management.
In one case, a Muni worker said the city paid $3,000 for a vehicle battery tray. Such parts can be found online for $12 to $300, depending on the type of vehicle. City officials said they couldn't verify that purchase, saying the trays are usually bought in bulk with the battery.
Other city purchasing policies, if followed, would mean paying about $240 for getting a copy of a key that actually cost a worker $1.35 to get done at a hardware store on his break, the employee said. Another city worker called the use of catalog pricing for supplies "Pentagon-style purchasing."
Markups from approved vendors range from 10 to 150 percent, employees said, with one calling the city's requirement that contractors provide health care benefits for domestic partners "the expensive white elephant standing in the middle of the room (that) no one wants to mention."

And the lifeguards earn $120,000 a year. What a puffy way to rape your state. Please do not ask the Federal Government to bail you out, California. You all are idiots.
I'm all for paying reparations to people who actually have been slaves. Though it's today's Arabs and Africans who need to be paying the reparations, since they're the ones who still keep people as slaves....
No, I'm not holding my breath.

On his first trip to the U.S.-Mexico border as president, Obama attempted to blunt the conservative argument that the United States should secure its own borders before making any other changes to liberalize immigration law. Building on his Obama-Got-Osama bounce. Could have been worse: he might be talking about bullying again. Of course, he knows something about that...
The president accused Republicans of constantly looking to "move the goal posts" on what constitutes securing the border. So what are you stopping Arizona from doing, your majesty?
"They wanted more agents at the border. Well, we now have more empty boots on the ground on the Southwest border than at any time in our history," he said. They wanted a fence. Well, the fence is now basically complete as it's ever going to get." "Maybe they'll need a moat," he said, generating laughter from a crowd of more than 1,000. "Maybe they want alligators in the moat." Maybe we'll want some facts, clown. Excuse me, President Clown.

Whenever I read the term "Immigration Reform" I smell BS. Is there something wrong with me?
#4
No, Anguper. Your nose is working just fine. Immigration reform is code for opening the border to an unchecked flood of immigrants from Third World countries who can be counted on to vote for Democrat candidates. Life as you know it will be all over when it is accomplished.

At his direction the Customs and Immigration folks have been cooking the books for 2 years, setting the stage for his saying that enforcement has been a success, so now lets do amnesty. 15 million more illegals will tip the boat forever along the border states, as well as numerous major metropolitan areas. Once that democrat plurality is established for all time, the inevitable leveling to the Marxist social model will be completed. Of course, the wheels come off very early on when the entire economy fails and the remaining actual Americans resist. Ugly portends if this mutt gets reelected....
Senate Democrats unveiled a plan Tuesday to save $21 billion over the next decade by eliminating tax breaks for the nation's five biggest oil companies, a move designed to counter Republican demands to control the soaring national debt without new taxes.
With the proposal, Democrats sought to reframe the debate over debt reduction to include fresh revenue as well as sharp cuts in spending. For the first time, Democratic leaders suggested an equal split between spending cuts and new taxes -- "50-50," said Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (Nev.). Hey! they left off the (D)! (D-ipshit).
(D-$21 bil. taxes)
"We're not going to raise taxes," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) told reporters. And the (R) (R-ino).
(R- $2 tril. spending cuts, if he's willing to go to the mattresses along with House Speaker John Boehner (R- $2 tril. spending cuts))
"That was decided in last November's election. I think the American people pretty clearly believe that we have the deficit problem because we spend too much, not because we tax too little." Good for you, Mitch!
The clash over oil company subsidies is the latest flare-up in a broader battle over the most controversial budget issues: Republican demands for cuts to Medicare and other entitlement programs, and Democratic insistence on new revenue. So, as usual, the Dims want to compromise and raise taxes.

Great idea! Now is an excellent time to make gas more expensive. It will encourage people to go out and buy a new $40,000 electric clown car from Government Motors.
#2
Most of the tax 'breaks' are just accounting rules, and they apply to all corporations. If they try to just change them for certain companies, or even industries, they should have Constitutionality issues (not that that matters anymore.)
In any case, the oil companies will just embed the increased cost of doing business in the price of the products sold and pass it on to the consumer. Total profits and return on investment won't change much. It's a way of raising taxes in the background and getting to blame Big Oil. But at this point it's not like people can hate the oil companies more than they already do.
Long-term, I anticipate nationalization of the US oil industry, 'for the good of the people', and running it like AMTRAK.
#3
The more of the oil industry they export, the more they hate the remnant that's left.
They want to pretend they can shoot Bin Laden with their right hand and then it won't matter that they've given away entire industrial sectors to his nominal allies with their left.
#7
No one is paying the oil executives for the time they waste in these clown shows in DC (District of Clowns). There has been no price gouging, just the foolish notion that you do not have to drill to get lower prices. Things are just too stupid anymore.
#8
So you'd like to see them subsidize one industry but not others?
Free markets means just that, free from govt meddling. If the govt is subsidizing the oil industry, rest assured it is somehow driving up the price.
#9
So you'd like to see them subsidize one industry but not others?
Rant burg has several posters who work in, or with, the oil industry. They have informed us repeatedly that the so-called subsidies are merely normal business tax credits for investment in future business and depreciation of assets currently in use. Thus, what President Obama's team is proposing is that the oil business no longer be allowed to work under the same rules as all other businesses that file tax returns in the U.S.
#10
BO Admin thinks that they can beat on the oil companies and blame them for high prices. They think that the public is that stupid. Well they are not that stupid.
Once again, BO plays politics and offers no solutions. Nothing.

Actually, Alaska Paul, I think the public IS that stupid, thanks to decades of mis-education and indoctrination. And there is just enough truth in the allegations that the rest is given credibility. Because petroleum products are so critical to everything in our lives, we believe it is our 'right' to have it, and cost and profit have no place in the discussion. If there is no course change, I fear the industry will be nationalized within 4 years.

And also TW, the recess-appointe head of the NLRB, a former union thug, is going after the Boeing Company for their new second assembly SC 787 plant, saying that they have caused job loss in the other WA. Can't figure out how a NEW plant as a second facility is causing job loss back at the ol' homestead ( its not but the IAM is all panty-wadded up about the SC plant being in a right to work state). do you really expect anything else from this POS muslimhugging POS ( ok maybe my meds need adjusted)

How long before this is used for everything besides an emergency.
Much like the Amber Alerts - overuse will make them ineffective as people learn to ignore them.

I have a primitive phone and plan, and have to pay for each text message (I understand these alerts would go out as texts - which is the only way they would be able to get through during a crisis, as I did during Katrina.)
If they use them appropriately, I actually like the idea, but of course, I also realize they will not be able to resist the temptation to turn the system into an incumbent re-election campaign system.

It sounds like my weather radio. I got the more expensive one, which can be programmed to ignore tsunamis, typhoons, and anything further than 100 miles away. I can't imagine the lives of those whose radios go off every time the National Weather Service warns they're watching for something somewhere.
The thing with cell phones is, the area code of the phone number does not indicate location, so unless the warnings are going to be targetted by physical proximity to a given cell phone tower, the entire nation is going to be urgently interrupted because a 2-year old was taken by the non-custodial parent in Podunk, Montana. Not wise.

I have a really primitive cell phone & plan, pay all of $110 a year for it, but somehow the phone company neglected to charge me for text messages received, so I have signed up for receiving everything I can use one way or the other. Years ago I was hiking deep in a canyon out west & received a usable text message at a place where there was supposedly 'no service' for cell phones.
One thing that would be useful but has strangely been neglected are weather radios / car radio connections. It is virtually impossible to buy a car radio with a built in emergency weather radio circuit. You can buy weather radios for home use, theoretically they can be triggered by things like tornado warnings, and can be adjusted to respond to various areas. You would have to buy a separate weather radio & leave it in your car to get this functionality on the road.
I was listening to an all music channel on my XM radio at home the night of the OBL hit, and the music was interrupted several times by a notice that a 'significant news event' had occurred & I could turn to any of their news channels for further info. I appreciated that.
You can always block calls by turning off your device, removing the battery, and wrapping it tightly in tin foil. Or wrap it in sheet metal and solder it in for maximum personal security.
#13
AFAIK, I can't even get text messages on my cell - nor do I want to.
I keep my cell phone turned OFF unless I want to use it, then turn it back off when I'm finished.
I've managed to survive for lo these many years without people calling me while I'm in the bathroom or driving down the road. They can leave a message on my answering machine at home.
