The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports Councilman Stanley Chang and Council Chairman Ernie Martin decided to withdraw the proposal after hearing from the public.
The councilmen last week introduced a resolution to change the name of Sandy Beach Park to President Barack Obama Sandy Beach Park. The beach is a popular for bodysurfing on Oahu's east side. It was a favorite for the president as he grew up. He bodysurfed there while on vacation during his 2008 campaign.
Martin says in a statement that he heard historic and cultural sensitivity concerns from the community about the name change. He says there may be other public facilities more appropriate to honor the president.

Its been "Sandy Beach" since pretty much forever -methinks the locals aren't ready for a name change no matter whom it was.

When I first arrived in Baltimore many years ago I flew into Friendship Airport. It had been Friendship since the 1930s, when it started. People used to "fly into Friendship."
At some point the legislature decided Thurgood Marshall needed something named after him. Rather than build something and name it after him they renamed the airport Thurgood Marshall Baltimore-Washington International Airport or some windy variation.
People now fly into BWI.

In the video, he says the IRS is demanding a "ridiculously long list" of documents, including "a detailed description of all transactions related to all prior year returns and supporting documentation."
Beyond bank statements and cancelled checks, the IRS has little reason to request a) other records and b) audit past the three year mark. Per the IRS Manual (4.10.3.2.6), he has (and should exercise) the right to record all interviews.

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Rev. Jesse Jackson , now known as Ebrola,
traveled to Dallas on Tuesday to discuss Ebola concerns with pastors and community leaders in the southern part of the city. His plane arrived from Chicago shortly before 9:00 a.m. at DFW International Airport and he is expected to spend his entire day in North Texas.
From the airport, Jackson is set to meet with community members at South Dallas Cafe, located in Oak Cliff. Longtime community leader Winsor Barbee said Tuesday morning, “What he is going to do is meet with the southern Dallas pastors and community leaders so they can go back to their churches and community organizations with information on the Ebola virus.” I guess they don't trust the CDC. Neither do I.
Barbee said that Jackson wants to be sure that south Dallas residents were receiving proper Ebola information. “A lot of times,” she explained, “the information is the last to get there. A lot of times, they are the most unaware of what’s going on.”

Breitbart News investigated Oklahoma state hate crime databases and found no record of widespread anti-Moslem persecution in the state. Over the past five years, a total of seven anti-Islamic hate crimes have been documented in the state of Oklahoma.
Breitbart News found that Suhaib Webb, the former Imam of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City had been a close confidant of al-Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki. The first sermon, dated September 19th, revealed the mosque's close connection with the Moslem Brüderbund-founded Council on American-Islamic Relations ... the Moslem Brüderbund's American arm ... (CAIR). Additionally, the Breitbart investigation found that the current ISGOC Imam, Imad Enchassi, falsely claimed that a Republican Oklahoma state representative had said that "American Moslems are a cancer that need to be eliminated." The second sermon, dated September 26th, showed that the mosque had tasked CAIR with handling the damage control.
In the past, Imad Enchassi has accused America of "creating more terrorists" with its foreign policy. Enchassi, who considers himself a perpetual "3rd generation refugee" of Paleostine, although he grew up in Beirut, Leb, has wildly accused Israel of "ethnic cleansing" during its recent 50-day war with terror group Hamas.

In an interview with the Fort Worth, Tex. Star-Telegram published Tuesday, Carter said the U.S. had waited too long to respond to the growing power of the Islamic State in Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) bad boy group, which also goes by the name Islamic State.
"We let the Islamic state build up its money, capability and strength and weapons while it was still in Syria," Carter said. "Then when [ISIS] moved into Iraq, the Sunni Moslems didn't object to their being there and about a third of the territory in Iraq was abandoned."
Carter added that the use of ground troops in addition to the current air campaign could ensure the U.S. succeeds in Iraq. "If we keep on working in Iraq and have some ground troops to follow up when we do our bombing, there is a possibility of success," he said.

[NYPOST] The city's five district attorneys have been desperately trying to get a sit down with Mayor de Blasio since March but hizzoner has blown them off while holding multiple meetings with civil rights hustler Al Sharpton ...Tawana Brawley's spiritual advisor... , The Post has learned.
Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson sent an email to the mayor's office on behalf of the group and urged him to meet with them to discuss issues related to their budgets and public safety, according to sources.
"I ask that, at your convenience, you meet with me and my colleagues from Queens, Staten Island, Manhattan and Brooklyn," reads the email sent from Johnson on March 11.
"We feel that we are an important part of the City's efforts to provide public safety."
The mayor's office responded with an automatic reply from de Blasio's director of scheduling that said it would take "approximately two weeks" to process the request.
A front man for mayor said that a meeting would be set and that City Hall has increased the district attorneys' budgets drastically for the next four years.
"The mayor looks forward to meeting with the five DAs," front man Phil Walzak said. "A meeting with Mayor de Blasio and all five District Attorneys will be scheduled for the near future."

Michelle Obama says that America is responsible for a female veteran's unemployment. It's not like she'd blame anyone else...
She’s been given the cover in the Oct. 14 issue of Redbook to tout the administration's claimed support for women veterans, just three weeks before the Nov. 4 election. 'Red Book'....appropriate color I'd say.
She returned the favor by blaming Americans for their shared economic difficulties. Ag, not fok'n me to blame again ?
"She's been trained to be a leader," Obama said about one unemployed veteran. Get a job, any job! "Lead" through example.
"And this country's not giving her that opportunity, someone who wants it so desperately," she claimed. Move to another 'country,' probably much, much better there.
