FRISCO (CSBDFW.COM) - An afternoon news conference has been called in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, to discuss a possible second case of Ebola.

The patient claims to have had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, referred to as Dallas ‘patient zero.’

It is not clear how the patient had contact with Duncan or if the patient was one of the about 50 people being monitored by federal, state and local health officials.

The call came in shortly after noon from Care Now, 301 Main Street, where the patient was “exhibiting signs and symptoms of Ebola.”

#4 Blood tests results are absolutely reliable. There is nothing in the world that looks like the huge and unmistakable worm like virus as Ebola.

#5 It is stupid for someone with known / peripheral contact with Patient Zero to GO TO AN URGENT CARE CENTER with anything he thinks resembles Ebola. What instructions, if any, was this man given? Did he not think his symptoms resembled Ebola?
Wouldn't it have made more sense to tell this man, LAST WEEK, to STAY HOME AND CALL EMS if he has any inkling he might be coming down with a virus?
Now another circle of potential contacts to mess with.
Note what the EMS personnel are wearing. Article says the suspect patient is being taken to Patient Zero's hospital. Maybe this time around the hospital will expedite the Ebola blood testing.

#6 A person in Frisco who may be showing Ebola symptoms and claims to have had contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, the man who died of the virus Wednesday in Dallas, is being investigated, the city says.

The person being transported to the hospital is a deputy with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office who was in Duncan's apartment, Sgt. Chris Dyer with the Dallas County Sheriff's Association confirmed to NBC 5. link

#8 There was an article posted the other day regarding how contagious ebola is compared to other viruses. Here. A number called R0 was reported which indicates the degree of spread of a virus. Ebola was 2, mumps 10, measles 18. This is not a good comparison because for mumps and measles there are vaccines. Even if one were not vaccinated, it is likely one would survive from these childhood diseases. If one contracts ebola, some have survived but the mortality is quite high. Much is unknown about ebola modes of transmission at this point.

#9 Apparently he served the quarantine warrant and entered the apartment without ANY protective gear.

Frisco TX has some of the richest zipcodes in Texas. Its very upper-middle to upper class. One of the lowest crime suburbs in the US. Very conservative area as well. All the government and reps there are Republican. Lots of churches too.

Compare and contrast the facility nthe sick deputy went to: The clinic was locked down immediately while calls to Texas Public Health were put in for assistance in evaluation. Fourteen people, including medical staff and patients at CareNow medical clinic, where the patient first sought treatment were evaluated and released by the Department of Public Health.

Hmm. State and local resources responding properly and quickly in a conservative suburb versus lax idiocy in Dallas and the CDC - what a contrast.

Third world means driving off the medical workers with violence, and piling dead bodies in the streets.
