..unless they're far away, exiled in some distant land. However, it will cut down on further recruitment of viable replacements. Cannon fodder is cheap. See - Seattle, Portland, et al

/\#10 ditto. A classic plan was to move troublemakers to another province, settle them on the local peoples' land (i.e. steal it), and tell them to "keep things orderly". You tend to be loyal when the natives want to come down from the hills and kill you.

At this point, I wonder if the US should clandestinely pay these to turn coats and start shooting Turks? Might be the most cost effective move. And it would conveniently reduce the numbers of baddies, and also of mercs of that sort.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Iranian fuel that was bound for Venezuela ...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south... and seized by the U.S. last month is reportedly being transferred to Texas and should arrive in the coming days, the Rooters News Agency reported on Tuesday.According to Rooters, at least two Iranian tankers seized by the U.S. authorities will be arriving at a Texas port, amid worsening relations between Washington and Tehran.
The report said, citing the shipping data from Refinitiv Eikon, the first fuel cargo from the Liberia-flagged tanker, Euroforce, will arrive in Texas in the next 24 hours. The destination for the seized is the Gulf port of Galveston in southwest Texas.
Meanwhile, ...back at the wine tasting, Vince was about to start on his third quart... the second cargo from the Singapore-flagged tanker, Maersk Progress, is expected to arrive on September 19th to Houston, Texas, Eikon data revealed.
The seizure of these fuel tankers by the U.S. came after an American court issued an order for the cargoes in a civil forfeiture case.
Four Iranian tankers were allegedly seized by partners of the U.S., who have not been disclosed, and transferred to American vessels in order to be transported to Texas.
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... has responded to these claims by the U.S. by slamming the allegations as false, stating that the cargo had already been sold and was no longer in the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s possession.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani ...Iran's moderate president, which he is, relative to his predecessor, which doesn't mean he's anything but a puppet of the nearest holy man... said these claims made by the U.S. came after they lost the vote at the U.N. Security Council over reimposing the weapons embargo against Tehran.

Venezuela has the largest oil reserves in the world. But the socialists running the country are so corrupt they cannot convert that oil into gasoline and sell it to benefit it's starving people.
The income from Venezuela to Iran funds terrorism around the world.
Saving lives, including American lives by preventing the financing of terror by Venezuela's inept leadership is one of many reasons why and that is not piracy, it was a court order from a court in the US.
It's not that we want that oil, we want to keep Iran and Venezuela from benefiting from it. Perhaps it can be donated to some country in a desperate position.

Back in my Northern Ireland days, they called these munitions baton rounds. They could cause nasty bruises, and could be fatal if they hit the wrong area at close range.

[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A Black Lives Matter activist and alleged Antifa ...the armed wing of the Democratic Party... supporter has been arrested for allegedly ramming his car into a Proud Boy member who attended a memorial event for Aaron "Jay" Danielson over Labour Day weekend in Vancouver, Washington.
Charles "Robbie" Holliday-Smith, 30, a Portland-area barber, turned himself in to authorities and was booked into Clark County Jail.
The hit-and-run suspect has posted calls for violence on his social media accounts, which are littered with Antifa content, The Gateway Pundit confirmed.
"I will fight you and will justifiably feel good about beating your ass!" Holliday-Smith threatened "racists" in 2018.

Will probably be as successful as the indictment and prosecution of those who engaged in overthrowing the constitutionally elected government of the US.

My guess is that a lot of criminal investigations and indictment referrals have a decision date of middle of November to ensure that the right career choices get made. Tragic but certain in the modern FBI.

All we need is the base, and sufficient support personnel, that can allow for:
1) cadre and equipment to support quick deployment and recovery of special operations in the region.
2) support of intelligence activities (recon drones, SIGINT)
3) training of the locals
These can be accomplished in the remote airbases near the border with Jordan, and in the Kurdish region, without much need for incursions into urban or even suburban areas in Iraq, where they would be targets for "protests" and local terrs.
That is all that is needed in Iraq, so thats all that should be there in Iraq on a semi-permanent basis. 2000 seems right.
Afghanistan? Maintain the central airbase at Kabul, and use it for the same things. No big ground footprint. "Lease" training range area the way we have training at Graf in Germany, with cadre, but no forward permanent combat elements. Have an attached "tactical" airfield. Make it a 12 month hardship tour. Rotate a battalion sized combat unit there every 6 months for 90 days of "anti-terror" training, like the "big Euro war" training at Graf, and places like 29 Stumps and NTC Fort Irwin. Advantage is climate, no need to worry about environ cleanup lawsuits when we leave, and a most of all a jumping off point for SOC forces.
