Florida Woman Slips Out Of Handcuffs, Climbs Into Front Seat, Drives Off In Cop Car
h/t Instapundit
[BroBible] Today’s Florida Woman is Mary Liane Fritz, 30, who was arrested by High Springs police on charges of stalking.

According to an arrest report obtained by Gainesville.com, Fritz followed a woman who claimed she was being stalked to the High Springs Police Station on Monday afternoon.

For some reason, despite already being at the police station, officers handcuffed Fritz’s hands behind her back and placed her in the back seat of a patrol car... alone. Big mistake.

The arrest report states Fritz then somehow got out of her cuffs, climbed through the partition in the vehicle to the front seat, STARTED THE CAR (WHY WERE THE KEYS IN THE CAR?), and drove off!

China to exempt U.S. pork, soybeans from additional tariffs: Xinhua
h/t Instapundit
[Rooters] China will exempt some agricultural products from additional tariffs on U.S. goods, China’s official Xinhua News Agency said Friday, in the latest sign of easing Sino-U.S. tensions before a new rounds of talks aimed at curbing a bruising trade war.
Or an admission they can't find alternate sources and can't produce their own
...An outbreak of deadly African swine fever, which has cut China’s pig herd by a third since mid-2018, has propelled Chinese pork prices to record levels and left the country in need of replacement supplies from overseas.

#9  Export tariffs are completely unconstitutional. The Export Clause bans taxes or duties on articles exported from any state. So I suppose they could be imposed on items leaving from Puerto Rico or Guam, if we really wanted to, but that's hardly a big deal economically, and neither raise pigs for export, as far as I know.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Trump Says He Does Not Believe Israelis Are Spying On The U.S.
[Jpost] Israeli officials are strongly denying allegations that Israel planted surveillance devices in the proximity of the White House.

US President Donald Trump
...The man who was so stupid he beat fourteen professional politicians, a former tech CEO, and a brain surgeon for the Republican nomination in 2016, then beat The Smartest Woman in the World in the general election...
said on Thursday he does not believe Israel is spying on the United States after a published report said Israel was most likely behind cellphone surveillance devices found near the White House and elsewhere in Washington.

Politico reported the miniature surveillance devices, colloquially known as "StingRays," were discovered and that they were most likely linked to the Israelis. Israel has denied the report.

Israeli officials are strongly denying allegations that Israel planted surveillance devices in the proximity of the White House and in other sensitive locations in Washington, as was reported by Politico on Thursday.

"A blatant lie," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement. "There is a longstanding commitment, and a directive from the Israeli government, not to engage in any intelligence operations in the US. This directive is strictly enforced without exception."

Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who is also intelligence minister, also categorically denied the report.

"Israel does not conduct any spying operation in the US," he said in a statement. "The US and Israel share a great deal of intelligence information and act together to prevent threats and to strengthen the security of both countries.”

Israeli Officials Deny The Country Is Spying On Donald Trump - Report

[Jpost] Maj.-Gen. (res.) Amos Yadlin, the executive director of Tel Aviv University’s Institute for National Security Studies and former head of IDF Military Intelligence claimed that "Nobody is going to invest intelligence resources in a country where you can make a phone call to its president. I regard this as fake news."

According to Politico, a US government investigation concluded that Israel was behind several devices that were uncovered in the past two years, most likely aimed at spying on US President Donald Trump
...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States...
, his closest circle and other government officials.

The American paper added that the FBI and other agencies working on the case believe that Israel is to be blamed because of the high level of know-how and budget needed for the operation.

"You can often, depending upon the tradecraft of the people who put them in place, figure out who's been accessing them to pull the data off the devices," a former senior US intelligence official told Politico.

"It was pretty clear that the Israelis were responsible," another former senior intelligence official said.

According to the paper, a number of so-called "StingRays" were found in DC. StingRays are phone trackers designed to track phones even when they are not being used to make a call.

The report added that the Trump administration chose not to hold the Israeli government accountable.

"The reaction... was very different than it would have been in the last administration," an official told Politico. "With the current administration, there are a different set of calculations in regard to addressing this."

Terror Networks
U.S. Imposes Sanctions on Four Members of Hizbullah
[AnNahar] The United States Department of the Treasury issued new sanctions against four members of Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
, a statement issued by the State Department said Thursday.

It said that US President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
has signed on Tuesday an executive order "modernizing sanctions to combat terrorism."

It announced a wide range of new terrorist designations against leaders or operatives of organizations with close ties to Tehran, among them Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force and Hizbullah.

The US also designated leaders of groups within the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
and al-Qaeda, and the operational arm of Hamas, the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,.

Hizbullah senior members subject to sanctions were named as follows: Ali Karaki, Mohammed Haider, Fouad Shokr and Ibrahim Aqil.

According to the U.S. statement, Karaki is a leader of Hizbullah’s Jihad Group and is responsible for military operations within southern Leb.

Aqil is a senior member of "Jihad Group" and is responsible for Hizbullah’s military operations.

Mohammed Haider, it said, runs Hizbullah’s networks outside Leb, while Fouad Shokr is "the supervisor of Hizbullah’s weapons and missile units in Syria, and is the military adviser close to Hizbullah leader Sayyed His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah
...The satrap of the Medes and the Persians in Leb...
," according to the US statement.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
New sanctions could extend to allies of Hezbollah in Lebanon: US envoy
[AlAhram] Future US sanctions could target allies of Hezbollah in Leb, extending beyond direct affiliates of the Iran-backed Shia Moslem group, a US envoy said on Thursday.

"In the future we will designate, because we have to, individuals in Leb who are aiding and assisting Hezbollah, regardless of their sect or religion," the new US assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs David Schenker said in an interview with Leb's LBCI television.

When asked by the interviewer if this means sanctions will target allies of Hezbollah, Schenker said "absolutely", adding that the United States is constantly reviewing its sanctions lists.

The proposed targeting of allies of Hezbollah has been a sensitive subject for Leb in the past.

In 2017 a draft copy of proposed, tighter US sanctions on Hezbollah caused disquiet in Leb because the wording, seen by Rooters, implied the legislation could target the Shia Amal movement of parliament speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, a member of AMAL, a not very subtle Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
sock puppet...

for investigation.

Leb's Maronite Christian President Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
is also a political ally of Hezbollah.

Targeting both Amal and Hezbollah and their associates - the two parties representing Leb's Shia population - risked marginalising a large section of society, banking and political sources said at the time.

The legislation that was eventually enacted did not mention the phrase "Hezbollah, Amal, or other associated entities" as contained in the draft section on who would be the focus of the regulations.

Government
The Chicago Way
[AmericanThinker] ...As Chicago's longest serving alderman faces prison time, his spouse will become the state's most powerful judge.

The state's high court justices on Sept. 10 elected Justice Anne Burke to chief justice of the Illinois Supreme Court, succeeding former Chief Justice Lloyd A. Karmeier. (snip)

Burke's rise to chief justice comes while her husband, 14th Ward Ald. Ed Burke, faces a 14-count indictment on federal corruption charges. In January, federal prosecutors accused the alderman of attempting to extort the owners of a Burger King franchise in his ward by withholding a remodeling permit in order to pressure them to hire his private law firm to handle their property tax appeals.

A neighbor actually saw a rat die of fright on seeing him coming. It just skipped in the air and fell down dead. Once, a big rat simply ran off a ledge and preferred to fall seven stories below.

He was a bull terrier, 36 kilos of just muscle. He killed one huge monkey, two dogs, some cats and I don't know how many other small things. The monkey he ripped in two. I still remember, I had to pay the local temple to take it away, since it was a symbol of their deity... ohh those days.

Caribbean-Latin America
Mexico 'Disagrees' with Trump Asylum Restrictions
[AnNahar] Mexico said Thursday it disagrees with President Donald Trump
...the Nailer of NAFTA...
's decision to restrict the right of Central Americans to seek asylum in the United States, a day after the Supreme Court allowed it to go ahead.

The U.S. high court ruled Wednesday that the Trump administration can declare migrants colonists ineligible for asylum if they enter the country from the southern border without first seeking asylum in one of the countries they crossed to get to there.

The decision, which stayed a lower court's temporary injunction, will be in effect while a broader case against the policy plays out in the courts.

Mexico could see asylum requests soar under the measure, which dramatically changes the rules for the thousands of Central Americans fleeing poverty and gang violence in their home countries in hopes of reaching the United States.

"Of course we disagree" with the restrictions, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard told a news conference, speaking alongside President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

"We have a very different policy in Mexico, and we are not going to change it. Mexico's refugee and asylum policy is a tradition here," Ebrard said.

"What we need to do is create alternatives so that people don't have to take these risks ... (because) of the lack of options" in their home countries.

Saying that U.S. migration policy was already "very tough," he called the decision "unprecedented."

"It certainly draws one's attention. But it's their decision," he added.

He said Mexican officials would hold a series of meetings Thursday to evaluate the impact for Mexico.

Opponents argue the policy violates international law by forcing people fleeing for their lives to seek refuge in countries where they may also be in danger.

Despite his comments, Ebrard sought to send an upbeat message on U.S.-Mexican relations, saying he had positive meetings in Washington Tuesday with Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to review Mexico's progress in implementing a deal to reduce irregular migration.

Under the deal -- signed in June to avoid Trump's threat to impose tariffs on Mexican goods -- U.S. migrant detentions on the southern border have fallen 58.7 percent.

Lopez Obrador, who spoke with Trump by phone Wednesday, said relations were "on very good terms."

La tradicion in Mexico is to shunt to El Norte all of the millions of miserable peasants whose demands for a decent and secure life have been ignored by the corrupt, brutal and incompetent Mexican elite for nearly a century.

The Mexican elite bear the most blame for this mess. They do it because
1) they're enabled by American idiot lefties and Koch Bros.-style greedheads and
2) it pays enormous dividends in the form of literally billions of repatriated dollars that help to hide the failures and economic incompetence of Mexico's governing class.

Without the repatriations of millions of illegals, Mexico's GDP growth would be significantly lower than it is.

Cynical bastards. Finally, a US president is calling them out on their BS and rank opportunism.

...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......

Trump has spent his entire presidency promising to stop illegal immigration, shut out asylum seekers and wall off the Mexican border.

Even factoring in multiple rapes, it's probably as much as a 10x difference. Look at data from Texas: thousands of illegal alien rapists booked over a 7-year period, vs probably not more than 500-600 white supremacists total in that state.

As reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), 251,000 criminal aliens have been booked into local Texas jails between June 1st of 2011 and April 30th of 2018, according to DHS status indicators.

These criminal aliens were charged with:

More than 663,000 criminal offenses.

1,351 homicides.

7,156 sexual assaults.

9,938 weapons charges.

79,049 assaults.

18,685 burglaries.

79,900 drug charges.

815 kidnappings.

44,882 thefts.

4,292 robberies.

Nb. These numbers are only from Texas.
Additional conviction data can be found in the DOJ's report.

Caribbean-Latin America
US Invokes Regional Defense Treaty over Venezuela Crisis
[AnNahar] The United States invoked a regional defense pact Wednesday with 10 other countries and Venezuela
...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeds places like Honduras and El Salvador, and a significant proportion of the populace as refugeed to Colombia and points south...
's opposition after "bellicose" moves by Nicolás Maduro
...Commie el presidente para la vida of Venezuela, successor to Hugo Chavez. Nick is his country's attempt at producing a Muammar Qadaffy, except that even though his country's sitting on an enormous puddle of oil, he can't manage to get it out of the ground...
's regime.

A request to invoke the Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) came from the Venezuelan opposition, said a statement from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, retweeted early Thursday by President Donald Trump
...the Nailer of NAFTA...
"Recent bellicose moves by the Venezuelan military to deploy along the border with Colombia as well as the presence of illegal gangs and terrorist organizations in Venezuelan territory demonstrate that Nicolas Maduro not only poses a threat to the Venezuelan people, his actions threaten the peace and security of Venezuela’s neighbors," Pompeo said.

Venezuela was thrust into a political crisis in January when opposition leader Juan Guaidó
...Venezuelan politician, a member of the social-democratic Popular Will party, and serves as a federal deputy to the National Assembly representing the state of Vargas. In 2019 he was appointed by the Popular Will party to become the president of the National Assembly, after which he declared he was acting president of the country, challenging Nicolás Maduro's presidency and starting the 2019 Venezuelan presidential crisis....
declared himself acting president, in a direct challenge to Maduro's authority over the country from which millions have fled economic deprivation.

The opposition has branded the socialist leader a "usurper" over his re-election last year in a poll widely viewed as rigged.

Pompeo said in the statement that invoking the TIAR is "recognition of the increasingly destabilizing influence" the Maduro regime has in the region.

"Catastrophic economic policies and political repression continue to drive this unprecedented refugee crisis, straining the ability of governments to respond," he said.

"We look forward to further high-level discussions with fellow TIAR parties, as we come together to collectively address the urgent crisis raging within Venezuela and spilling across its border through the consideration of multilateral economic and political options."

The US and more than 50 countries have recognized Guaido.

The Grand Turk
Turkey Court Orders Release of Former Opposition Paper Journalists
[AnNahar] The top appeals court in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
ordered the release of five former journalists from the opposition Cumhuriyet daily on Thursday, including prominent cartoonist Musa Kart, their lawyer said.

The journalists had been serving sentences of close to five years for "aiding and abetting terror groups without being a member".

"After the court order, we expect the release of five former staff this evening," lawyer Tora Pekin told AFP.

The five were among 14 former Cumhuriyet staff, including journalists and executives, sentenced in 2018 and their appeals were rejected by a lower appeals court earlier this year.

They were accused of supporting, through their coverage, three organizations that Turkey views as terrorist groups -- the Kurdistan Workers' Party, the ultra-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party-Front, and the Gulen movement blamed for the 2016 failed coup.

The case has sparked criticism over the state of press freedom in Turkey. Cumhuriyet, the country's oldest daily founded in 1924, is a rare Ottoman Turkish paper that is not in the hands of a business tycoon, but by an independent foundation.

The daily has often had troubles with government authorities, with its former editor-in-chief Can Dundar fleeing to Germany after being convicted in 2016 over an article alleging that Turkey had supplied weapons to Islamist groups in Syria.

Turkey Acquits Austrian Student on Terror Charge
[AnNahar] An Austrian student and journalist charged with membership of a leftist terrorist group in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
has been acquitted, his lawyer said on Wednesday.

Max Zirngast,
...a Communist journalist who just happens to be a friend of the Kurds — the PKK, to be exact...
who wrote for international publications including a far-left German magazine, was arrested exactly a year ago, accused of links to the outlawed Ottoman Turkish Communist Party (TKP)/Kivilcim group.

The 30-year-old was also a political science masters student at Middle East Technical University in Ankara at the time of his arrest.
Why would an Austrian study PoliSci in Turkey instead of back home?
He had defended himself in Ottoman Turkish at the last hearing in April.

"A verdict was received that Max did not take part in any illegal activity or any activity constituting a crime," his lawyer Murat Yilmaz told AFP.

He said two Ottoman Turkish citizens, Mithatcan Turetken and Hatice Goz, who were arrested along with Zirngast, were also acquitted.

Zirngast had been free pending the latest hearing on Wednesday but had been barred from leaving Turkey.

He rejected the charges and denied the TKP/Kivilcim group even exists.

In an opinion piece for the Washington Post last year, Zirngast wrote that his arrest was "a perverse confirmation of the authoritarianism I've spent the past several years chronicling and opposing".

He also criticised the attempt to "silence the entire democratic opposition in Ankara".

Zirngast had also published articles on the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has waged an insurgency against the Ottoman Turkish state since 1984 and is designated a terrorist organization by Ankara and its Western allies.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
A plea from an activist protecting children to remove Richard Stallman from Open Source software and affiliations
[M-Selam G] I’d like to add a Content Note: this piece contains mentions of child abuse, rape, and other upsetting topics. An appendix of additional information has also been added at the bottom.

I’m writing this because I’m too angry to work.

I’m writing this because at 11AM on Wednesday, September 11th 2019, my friend sent me an email that was sent to an MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) mailing list.

This email came from Richard Stallman, a prominent computer scientist.

In it, he’s responding to a female student’s email about this Facebook event, which calls for a protest by MIT students and affiliates regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s donation.

The announcement of the Friday event does an injustice to Marvin
Minsky:

“deceased AI ‘pioneer’ Marvin Minsky (who is accused of assaulting
one of Epstein’s victims [2])”

The injustice is in the word “assaulting”. The term “sexual assault”
is so vague and slippery that it facilitates accusation inflation:
taking claims that someone did X and leading people to think of it as
Y, which is much worse than X.

The accusation quoted is a clear example of inflation. The reference
reports the claim that Minsky had sex with one of Epstein’s harem.
(See https://www.theverge.com/2019/8/9/20798900/marvin-minsky-jeffrey-epstein-sex-trafficking-island-court-records-unsealed.)
Let’s presume that was true (I see no reason to disbelieve it).

The word “assaulting” presumes that he applied force or violence, in
some unspecified way, but the article itself says no such thing.
Only that they had sex.

We can imagine many scenarios, but the most plausible scenario is that
she presented herself to him as entirely willing. Assuming she was
being coerced by Epstein, he would have had every reason to tell her
to conceal that from most of his associates.

I’ve concluded from various examples of accusation inflation that it
is absolutely wrong to use the term “sexual assault” in an accusation.
Whatever conduct you want to criticize, you should describe it with a
specific term that avoids moral vagueness about the nature of the
criticism.

There are so many things wrong with what Richard Stallman said I hardly know where to begin. First, he didn’t even give the typical, whiney, ‘he’s accused but not convicted’ defense. No, Stallman went much further than that. Instead, Stallman said “Let’s assume that Marvin Minsky had sex with an underage girl who was a victim of child sex trafficking”…

The reference reports the claim that Minsky had sex with one of Epstein’s harem…Let’s presume that was true (I see no reason to disbelieve it).

…and then he says that an enslaved child could, somehow, be “entirely willing”. Let’s also note that he called a group of child sex trafficking victims a ‘harem’, a terrible word choice.

We can imagine many scenarios, but the most plausible scenario is that
she presented herself to him as entirely willing.

This is someone who is respected far and wide by the technology community.

This is someone who is a Visiting Scientist at MIT.

MIT claims it never wanted to elevate Epstein’s reputation by allowing him to donate. But, here they are, not only elevating but funding and endorsing a person like Richard Stallman as a visiting scientist.

What’s more, somehow Richard Stallman decided it was appropriate to email his opinion to an almost department-wide mailing list (“csail-related”) which had undergraduate students on it. In an email further down the thread, he also said,

“I think it is morally absurd to define “rape” in a way that depends on minor details such as which country it was in or whether the victim was 18 years old or 17.”

in response to a student who said “Giuffre [the victim who testified] was 17 at the time, this makes it __rape__ [sic] in the virgin islands” .

Again, this mailing list has undergraduate students on it. It is likely some of them are “18 years old or 17”.

I was shocked. I continued talking to my friend, a female graduate student in CSAIL, about everything, trying to get the full email thread (I wasn’t on the mailing list). I even started emailing reporters — local and national, news sites, newspapers, radio stations. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. During my 45-minute drive home, when I normally listen to podcasts or music, I just sat in complete silence.

The only reporter who responded quickly was one from WBUR, and they didn’t seem to be in a rush to publish this information. So, I told my friends that I would just write a story myself. I’d planned to do it after work today; instead, because I can’t possibly focus, I’m working on it now.

MIT does not deserve its women.

The world does not deserve them either. I thought back to every person who has ever asked me how to “fix” the gender problems in STEM, how to “get more girls” to join STEM programs. I thought about every time that someone has suggested “men are better at spacial thinking” and that “testosterone is linked to better performance in math”.

In my mind I look at all these people, a crowd that is gathered. And in my mind, I stand up and I scream at them. I would put my hands around their shoulders and shake sense into all of them, individually, if I had enough time and enough hands

The problems are so obvious.

There is nothing wrong with women. There is nothing wrong with girls in STEM. There are many women and many girls who, in spite of everything, love STEM-related disciplines. Some of them even go through 4-year bachelors degrees at MIT, maybe even 7 years of a PhD, and then begin questioning whether they should continue in these fields, because they are filled to the brim with so, so many shitty men.

Jeffrey Epstein. Marvin Minsky.

Richard Stallman.

Travis Kalanick. James Damore. The laundry list of men in tech and academia who have continued this pattern of harassment, misogyny, and discrimination.
Richard Stallman was known to be problematic long before this. This is the door to his office:

#4  As far as I can tell, Herb, most of the Talib cannon fodder come straight from the madrassahs in Pakistan, with no idea of who they are fighting against or why. And their parents, who sent their sons for a free education (with a meal plan!) to be followed by a secure career as an imam somewhere, only discover what happened to their lads when they get a letter reporting the death.

And really, most of the time they are shooting in the general direction of locals in need of conquering or at Afghan police or military, not against foreign soldiers.

But yes, plenty more where they came from, so long as the Pashtun lower-middle and upper-poor classes are ambitious for their excess sons to improve themselves and be fed on someone else’s dime. But the alternative is to allow the establishment of a local version of an ISIS caliphate over much of the country, and permanent war against it in the rest.

#6  Sometimes the taliban commanders will ask for young men from the tribal areas. In a manpower crunch, when they need heavy lifting or labour. They are bullied and forced to work for them loading, unloading stuff, running errands etc.

At other times, they are known to abduct wives or children and force the men to be the front line for some raid or against the Alliance forces.

A lot of the fodder that burns is expendable to them, without losing their own core force. A lot of this war is a sickly grey. We may learn in time that the real core of the taliban was only a few hundred men and the thousands they sent were trapped in the necessities of their condition. But it's still all on the mullahs of course.

#1  Killing US troops is not how you get America to the table. The Taliban do not want peace, they want the US to surrender, and Trump will not. I do believe its time to send a few days of B52's to darken the skies and scorch the earth. I think they will get the point then.

#6  To really hurt the taliban, you'll have to engage in war with the 'Stain. Really engage. They just won't sit idle for a day those bastards, even if the FATF denies them any more aid. They'll cannibalize their infrastructure to support the turbans if need be.

Pakistan desires to posture as the peacemaker while actually plotting the wastage of another $trillion by the US on this. They are committed to the taliban surviving (not ruling, mind you). Their earlier regimes wanted the taliban to remain in the region, as disparate war-groups, a chaos in motion. They were muscle for the internecine rivalries in the tribal areas and a source of moolah from the drug trade. The latest regime was advised by the chinks to tread cautiously, forego the quickie and invest for the long game. I don't know what china hopes to gain and how, or where it stands on this. The talk in Delhi is that China, like Pakistain just wants the US to waste their money, but I find that too simplistic an assessment.

The current regime in Pakistain views the taliban as the legitimate pashtun representation, although they stop short at talk of an emirate. A section of Pak intelligence and militant mullahs also suggest a centralized taliban directorate in Afghanistan, with a weakened prop democracy like Pak's. An islamic alliance and an eastern mujaheddin force for the subcontinent.

Taliban recruits and trainers currently populate much of the tribal outlying areas on the durand line, robbing and raping the locals at whim. There's trade in local tribal children with regular bazaars and bids. Tribal resentment and rebellions like the PTM raised by local pashtuns against sasquatch militarization of their regions are actively targeted by the Pak army as anti-nationalism.

In any decisive war against taliban, if you don't hit Pakistain, they will keep regrouping and coming back. When the IS-Khorasan wanted to hit the taliban to make their statement, they know exactly where to hit. They hit Pakistain.

Daalder was U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO in February 2011 when the Libyan Civil War began with uprisings against Muammar Gaddafi in several cities, followed by a military crackdown by the Gaddafi regime. (...) Daalder then led U.S. efforts to persuade NATO to take over command and control of the operation.

Roots of custodial deaths
[DAWN] THERE have been many ineffective campaigns against deaths in police custody in the past, and we should like to hope that the present public outrage will lead to some concrete steps to rid the country’s criminal justice system of one of its major flaws.

The signs, though, are not very promising. A man’s death in jug was attributed to a heart attack and a woman’s to haemorrhage. Death caused by fear of torture cannot be accepted as natural. A police comment on Salahuddin’s death by torture was that he was making big money, ie torturing him was justified. Now the use of smartphones at cop shoppes has been banned across Punjab; this will not end torture in jug. In fact, people will be deprived of a source of information about police excesses. Obviously, coppers, at least many of them, are surprised at the outcry over a routine practice that has always been known to the top police echelons and the government ‐ in fact, has often been encouraged by both.

#17  They are based in the commie states. Those states have leftist state administrations. Sort of the same as Chicago. Until a strong Centrist government replaces those administrations, the military can't intervene, and they have to be combated by the police forces. Those forces are not up to it, sadly.

The naxals are actually a result of the deep corruption and bureaucratic lunacy in India that has existed since the 60s. Most of their lower ranks wouldn't even know what a Marx is. All the naxal grunt knows is that the government Babu forgave the landlord that raped his wife and took his land. I don't blame him for feeling the way he does.

And then the China-backed commies arm them and train them to hunt and kill the government. The higher ranks are criminals, extortioners and traffickers who know better but use the ideology to profit off it. The provide security and muscle to corporate interests that pursue illegal mining and manufacture without labor rules and safeties. The industrialists in turn back the leftist governments.

It's a pitiful mess, yes. But the center has begun to appreciate the plight of the poorest only recently. Many naxals have surrendered in exchange for jobs and cultivable land.

Last mile coverage of law enforcement cannot be reached until these states vote the Right. Until then it's lowbrow media war, obfuscating a very bloody push against commies in the south, Bengal, in forested areas.

Afghanistan
NATO allies, partners will continue to train and advise Afghan forces: Stoltenberg
[KhaamaPress] The NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said the NATO allies and partners will continue to train and advise the Afghan cops.

He made the remarks in the September 11 commemoration ceremony at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday.

Stoltenberg further added "Soon after 9/11, Allies deployed to Afghanistan. Hundreds of thousands of troops, from Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
, Canada and beyond, have served shoulder-to-shoulder with US troops."

Furthermore, Stoltenberg said "Many have paid the ultimate price. And many more have been seriously maimed. We remember them. And we must make sure that their sacrifice was not in vain."

He also added that the fight against terrorism is a global, generational fight, emphasizing that "We remain committed to Afghanistan."

Stoltenberg said "NATO Allies and partners will continue to train and advise Afghan cops. To make them stronger, so that they can fight international terrorism and create security and stability in their own country."

In other parts of his speech, Stoltenberg said "Our military presence is there to create the conditions for peace. But the road to peace is long and hard."

#1  If peace was the objective Afghanistan shouldn't have been invaded in the fist place because the Taliban had brought peace and stability to a good part of the country.

This peace and stability made it possible to use Taliban-Afghanistan as a staging area for attacks on the West.

"NATO Allies and partners will continue to train and advise Afghan cops."

Afghan cops are enforcing the laws of an entity that shows a generally hostile, passive aggressive attitude towards Western nations and whose guiding and organizing principles are incompatible with even rudimentary notions of decency as defined by Western civilization.

NY Payroll Company Vanishes With $35 Million
[KREBSONSECURITY] MyPayrollHR, a now defunct cloud-based payroll processing firm based in upstate New York, abruptly ceased operations this past week after stiffing employees at thousands of companies. The ongoing debacle, which allegedly involves malfeasance on the part of the payroll company’s CEO, resulted in countless people having money drained from their bank accounts and has left nearly $35 million worth of payroll and tax payments in legal limbo.

Unlike many stories here about cloud service providers being extorted by hackers for ransomware payouts, this snafu appears to have been something of an inside job. Nevertheless, it is a story worth telling, in part because much of the media coverage of this incident so far has been somewhat disjointed, but also because it should serve as a warning to other payroll providers about how quickly and massively things can go wrong when a trusted partner unexpectedly turns rogue.

Clifton Park, NY-based MyPayrollHR ‐ a subsidiary of ValueWise Corp. ‐ disclosed last week in a rather unceremonious message to some 4,000 clients that it would be shutting its virtual doors and that companies which relied upon it to process payroll payments should kindly look elsewhere for such services going forward.

there's more than one way to skin a cat...
nobody was arrested till the filing of this report.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s adviser on merged district Ajmal Khan Wazir said that the provincial government had directed the deputy commissioner and district police officer of South Waziristan to take immediate steps for safe and speedy recovery of the kidnapped doctor.

New reports of Russian airstrikes over strategic mountain region in Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Russian Air Force allegedly launched Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s over the al-Zawiyah Mountain region in the Idlib Governorate this evening, opposition activists reported over social media.

According to the reports, the Russian Air Force targeted the towns of Deir Sinbol, Baynin, and Shinan in the al-Zawiyah Mountain region.

Despite these claims, it is still not clear whether or not it was the Russian Air Force or their partners from the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF).

Due to the time these strikes were reported, al-Masdar is unable to confirm whether or not it was the Russians or Syrians.

The al-Zawiyah Mountain region, which is where the strikes were reported, is an imperative area that is home to several important towns like Ariha and Ma’arat al-Nu’man.

While the Russian Air Force did attack three different sites over the last two days in Idlib, these strikes have been primarily concentrated on the western part of the governorate.

In particular, the Russian Air Force has concentrated their strikes on the Jisr al-Shughour District, which is where a large number of foreign jihadists are currently based.

Turkey sends large military convoy to reinforce Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] A convoy with military and construction equipment crossed the Syrian border on Thursday morning and headed to the observation posts in Idlib, the Anadolu news agency reported.

The fighting has escalated in Idlib over the past several weeks, as the Syrian army has launched an offensive to clear the area from remaining terrorist threat and closed in on the strategic city of Khan Sheikhoun. On 31 August, a new ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey entered into force in the area. The same day, US forces attacked what they said were positions of leaders of al-Qaeda* in northern Idlib. According to Moscow, the strikes resulted in an unspecified number of casualties and damage to surrounding structures.

Prior to that, a long-discussed truce entered into force in early August in Idlib as the result of a deal made with the help of Turkey and Russia in Sochi last September. The Syrian military said it would resume its military operation in northwestern Syria if Ankara failed to implement its obligations under the agreement.

In October 2017, Turkey started setting up observation posts for monitoring ceasefire violations in the Idlib de-escalation zone in line with the agreements between the Syrian ceasefire guarantor states.

Overall, there are 12 such posts in Idlib. In late June, one of these posts was attacked from the territory controlled by the Syrian government. As a result of the attack, a Turkish soldier was killed and three more injured.

Europe
Saudi Princess Convicted in France of Ordering Bodyguard to Beat Worker
[WSJ] A French court convicted the sister of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
...Crown Prince of Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
as of 2016....

of ordering her bodyguard to assault a workman who said he was beaten in her luxury apartment and forced to kiss the princess’s feet.

Princess Hassa bint Salman Al Saud, who was tried in absentia, was given a 10-month suspended sentence and fined €10,000 ($11,000) for the beating in September 2016 at her apartment on the western edge of Gay Paree. Her bodyguard, Rani Saïdi, who was present in court, was handed an eight-month suspended sentence and fined €5,000. Neither is expected to serve any time in jail.

Emmanuel Moyne, a lawyer for Princess Hassa, said the princess would appeal the ruling. A person close to the Saudi royal family denied that the princess ordered a beating, saying she merely asked the bodyguard to stop the workman from taking photographs in her apartment.

The verdict comes as the Saudi royal family and Prince Mohammed struggle to overcome damage to their reputation after last year’s gruesome killing of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. The CIA concluded the prince himself likely ordered the killing. The Saudi government says Saudi operatives killed him on their own initiative in a "rogue operation," and Saudi prosecutors have charged 11 people in his death.

After the killing, Prince Mohammed sought to rehabilitate his image, attending the Group of 20 summit late last year in Argentina
...a country located on the other side of the Deep South. It is covered with Pampers and inhabited by Grouchos, who dance the Tangle. They used to have some islands called the Malvinas located where the Falklands are now. They're not supposed to cry for Evita...
, traveling on diplomatic missions to Asia and funding a youth conference with the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
. Yet he continues to face criticism from human-rights groups and Western governments over Mr. Khashoggi’s murder.

Princess Hassa was charged with ordering the beating during a visit by the worker, Ashraf Eid, for repairs to her apartment on Avenue Foch, an upscale address near the Arc de Triomphe where wealthy foreigners often buy real estate. The princess became enraged after she thought Mr. Eid was surreptitiously trying to photograph her, French prosecutors said.

After being summoned by the princess, her bodyguard tied up Mr. Eid, beat him, put a gun to his head and ordered him to kiss her feet, Mr. Eid said. At one point Princess Hassa said, "Kill him, the dog, he doesn’t deserve to live," Mr. Eid told the police.

Yassine Bouzrou, a lawyer for the bodyguard, Mr. Saïdi, said his client sought only to protect his employer. He said Mr. Saïdi ran over upon hearing the princess shout for help and firmly pushed back the assailant.

Mr. Bouzrou said his client denies threatening the man with a weapon, tying him up, or forcing him to kiss the princess’s feet.

Virginia Lt. Gov. Fairfax files $400 million defamation suit against CBS
[THEHILL] Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax (D) on Thursday filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against CBS Corp. and CBS Broadcasting in New York, accusing the organization of publishing false statements from two women who accused him of sexual assault.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Virginia's Eastern District, came in response to CBS interviews with the accusers the network conducted in February.

"Fairfax brings this action to restore his reputation and clear his name, ensure the truth prevails, stop the weaponization of false allegations of sexual assault against him, and vindicate his rights under civil law," the lawsuit says.

Fairfax has denied the accusations made by Vanessa Tyson and Meredith Watson. Tyson says Fairfax forced her to perform oral sex on him at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Watson, who said Fairfax raped her while they attended Duke University, came forward in an interview with CBS's Gayle King.

The women went public with their accusations after many called on Gov. Ralph Coonman Northam
...Governor of Virginia, another Dem Great White Hope. He won election by calling his Publican opponent Ed Gillespie a racist, but then, don't they all?...
(D) to resign after a photo from his medical school yearbook page resurfaced showing people in blackface. If Northam had resigned, Fairfax would have become governor.

"We stand by our reporting and we will vigorously defend this lawsuit," CBS News said in a statement to The Hill.

Syrian Air Force launches several strikes across Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) carried out several strikes over the Idlib Governorate Thursday, targeting a number of areas controlled by the jihadists of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

According to reports from northern Syria, the Syrian Air Force mostly targeted areas in western and southern Idlib; this includes Kafr Nabl, Dar al-Kabeera, Sheikh Mustafa, Jabala, Hazarin, Kafr Roma, and Ma’arat al-Harmah.

The Syrian Arclight airstrike

Afghanistan
Afghan Taliban sends warning to Trump in bitter exchange
[DAWN] The war of words between the Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
and United States President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
escalated on Thursday as the Afghan forces of Evil warned that the US leader had failed to grasp "what type of nation he is dealing with".

The latest salvo in the bitter exchange comes a day after Trump boasted during a 9/11 anniversary ceremony that US forces have "hit our enemy harder than they have ever been hit before and that will continue" just days after peace talks between the two sides collapsed.

"Trump (@realDonaldTrump) must tread carefully," tweeted Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid. "He has yet to grasp the type of nation he is dealing with. His advisers must make him understand and introduce the Graveyard of Empires #Afghanistan to him."

Until this weekend, there had been steadily mounting expectations of a deal that would see the US draw down troop levels in Afghanistan.

In return, the Taliban would offer security guarantees to keep krazed killer groups out. But then on Saturday, Trump revealed on Twitter that he had cancelled an unprecedented meeting between the Taliban and himself at Camp David and later said the talks with the forces of Evil were "dead".

The Taliban front man's tweet comes just hours after the group launched a suicide kaboom that killed at least four soldiers near Kabul, as the bully boyz ramp up attacks on security forces.

The incident occurred at a special forces base in Char Asiab district just south of the capital Kabul where an murderous Moslem driving an exploding car detonated near the facility's entrance.

"Four soldiers were killed, and three injured," said interior ministry front man Nasrat Rahimi.

Afghan special forces ‐ numbering around 17,000 ‐ represent a small fraction of the 300,000 strong Afghan armed forces but have been carrying out the bulk of offensive operations across Afghanistan in recent years.

Hashd Shabi shoots down unidentified drone in eastern Iraq
Real ones, or as imaginary as Iran’s American spy squirrels?
[ALMASDARNEWS] Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) ‐ commonly known as Hashd Shabi ‐ said it has shot down an unidentified drone in eastern Iraq, nearly three weeks after the group came under aerial bombardment by Israeli fighter jets.

"The tactical group of Hashd Shaabi’s 26th brigade deployed in the operational center in Diyala in the district of Kanaan managed to shoot down a drone, which was attempting to attack the Iraqi army," the statement published by PMF read.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at his country’s involvement in the aerial attacks on ammunition depots in Iraq belonging to the Iran-backed Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) composed of mostly Shia Moslem groups.

An unnamed senior US officials were quoted by the New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

as saying that Israel conducted "several strikes in recent days" in Iraq, including the July 19 attack north of Baghdad which targeted a base allegedly used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps "to transfer weapons to Syria"

In response, the Hashd announced it is now forming its own ’Air Force’ in order to respond to hostile air strikes.

Established in 2014 with the aim to fight the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. in Iraq and Syria (ISIS

,ISIS, IS), the Hashd al-Shaabi was formally incorporated into the Iraqi army in 2017.

Militants open fire in Rukban Camp after refugees demand seized UN-provided food
[ALMASDARNEWS] According to Maj. Gen. Alexey Bakin, citing the refugees, a significant amount of cargo earlier delivered by the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
and the Syrian Arab Red Islamic Thingy to Rukban has been seized by bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems and moved to a base of the Kuwat Shahid Ahmad al-Abdo turban group, located to the north of the camp.

"On 11 September, bandidos bandidos murderous Moslems opened fire with small arms at a market in Rukban to disperse civilians demanding food," Bakin said at a briefing.

The Rukban camp houses some 25,000 people in conditions described by the World Health Organization as "deplorable" ‐ lacking food, access to medical care and basic amenities.

The camp is located in the US-controlled zone around its unauthorized military base at At-Tanf, making it hard for humanitarian workers to access the area.

Back in August, Russia’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyanskiy said that over 17,000 civilians had already left the camp with the assistance of Moscow and Damascus.

The Syrian government and the Russian reconciliation centre have been assisting those wishing to leave the camp. The Russian and Syrian governments have repeatedly tried to draw the world’s attention to the appalling conditions in which refugees live in the camp and to the United States’ reluctance to let them leave the facility.

The US State Department has said the United States does not prevent anyone from leaving the Rukban camp.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
'You will never break our will': Palestinians react to Netanyahu's annexation pledge
[DAWN] Palestinians tilling the fertile Jordan Valley said on Wednesday they have been rooted for generations to the West Bank land that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to annex, and they vowed never to give it up.

“We tell Netanyahu, and whoever follows him, you will not break the Palestinians' will, you will never break our will, never, never,” said Hassan Al-Abedi, a 55-year-old farmer who lives in the village of Jiftlik.

“It's our parents' and grandparents' land. We will hold onto it no matter what it costs.”

The right-wing Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that he plans to "apply Israeli sovereignty" to the Jordan Valley and adjacent northern Dead Sea if he prevails in what is shaping up as a tough battle for re-election on September 17.

The plan drew condemnation from Arab leaders and from Palestinians, who seek to establish a state in all of the Israeli-occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The office of United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the plan "would constitute a serious violation of international law". Palestinian leaders said it would also effectively nullify interim peace deals from the 1990s that included security cooperation.

Against the backdrop of Jordan's desert mountain range to the east, Palestinian farmers tended their crops and worried about their future in an area where the town of Jericho and the River Jordan are reminders of a biblical past.

“This is not Netanyahu's land to give,” said Ismael Hassan, a 75-year-old Palestinian from Zbeidat village. “Whether or not Netanyahu succeeds (in the election) we won't accept it. This land is for Palestine, for the Palestinians.”

US attorney recommends proceeding with charges against McCabe
[FOXNEWS] U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu has recommended moving forward with charges against CNN contributor Andrew McCabe, Fox News has learned, as the Justice Department rejects a last-ditch appeal from the former top FBI official.

McCabe -- the former deputy and acting director of the FBI -- appealed the decision of the U.S. attorney for Washington all the way up to Jeffrey Rosen, the deputy attorney general, but he rejected that request, according to a person familiar with the situation.

US slams Iran for ‘web of lies’ over oil delivery to Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The U.S. State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus slammed the Iranian government to news hounds on Thursday after she was asked about their recent delivery of oil to Syria.

"I think the importance here to our friends around the world in the international community is to note that once again you have been lied to and misled by the Iranian regime," Ortagus told news hounds.

In regards to the Adrian Darya 1’s (formerly Grace 1) departure from Gibraltar in mid-August, Ortagus said Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
blatantly lied about the ship’s destination in order to deliver the oil to the Syrian coast.

"The Iranian regime broke its word and appears intent on fueling the Assad regime’s brutality against the Syrian people, who continue to face widespread violence, death and destruction," Ortagus stated.

"This fits into the web of lies perpetrated by the Iranian regime for 40 years," she said.

"Their deception and broken promises are not just aimed at the international community but the Iranian people, too," she added.

Afghanistan
Dostum proposes 6-month plan to Govt, U.S. and NATO to defeat Taliban
[KhaamaPress] The First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum
...ethnic Uzbek warlord who distinguished himself fighting the Soviets and the Taliban. The story that he had a bad guy run over with a tank is an exaggeration. It was an armored personnel carrier...
says he has proposed a 6-month plan to government, U.S. and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
for the defeat of Taliban
...Arabic for students...
in North of Afghanistan.

Gen. Dostum informed in this regard in a video message which he published ahead of the release of a movie which will depict his role in support of the U.S.-led invasion in Afghanistan in 2001.

In his video message, Gen. Dostum said he has proposed to President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
, the National Security Council, the U.S., NATO and international allies to consider his plan and implement it.

Furthermore, Gen. Dostum said his plan will not need the deployment of infantry forces of the United States and other facilities to defeat the Taliban group.

Gen. Dosum further added that the United States is facing a stalemate in the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
Gen. Dostum said he prefers a U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in a decent manner and with achievements, insisting that ’We have the ability to defeat Taliban but the President, the U.S. and NATO should trust us.’

In other parts of his speech, Gen. Dostum said the purpose of his plan is not to decompose the North of Afghanistan from the other parts of the country but he wants to help the U.S. in a similar way he did in 2001 and that he wants the U.S. to withdraw from the country leaving behind a legacy of victory.

This comes as the U.S. President Donald Trump
...the Nailer of NAFTA...
’s administration initiated peace talks with Taliban nearly nine months ago to end the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan through political negotiations.

However,

At least 50 killed in train derailment in southeast DR Congo
[DAWN] At least 50 stowaways were killed when a freight train derailed in southeastern Democratic Republic of the Congo
...formerly the Congo Free State, Belgian Congo, Zaire, and who knows what else, not to be confused with the Brazzaville Congo aka Republic of Congo, which is much smaller and much more (for Africa) stable. DRC gave the world Patrice Lumumba and Joseph Mobutu, followed by years of tedious civil war. Its principle industry seems to be the production of corpses. With a population of about 74 million it has lots of raw material...
on Thursday, the latest rail tragedy to strike the vast central African nation.

"Another disaster! Derailing at 3am (0100 GMT) in Tanganyika (province) near Mayibaridi. Provisional toll: 50 dead and several injured," the minister for humanitarian action, Steve Mbikayi, said in a tweet.

Witnesses at the scene and local media feared more than a hundred people could have been killed.

Victor Umba, the union head of the national rail company SNCC, said the freight train was travelling from the town of Nyunzu to the town of Niemba when two carriages fell on their sides.

"Those who died in this derailment were stowaways. It is impossible for the SNCC to provide any kind of toll," Umba told AFP. He added that the SNCC's chief was in the quiet provincial capital of Kalemie trying to find a way to raise the carriages.

"It seems that many stowaways are trapped under the derailed carriages".

Railways in the DRC have a poor record for safety, hampered by derelict tracks and decrepit locomotives, many of them dating from the 1960s.

Over 2,000 militants fled to Turkey from Idlib: Al-Watan
[ALMASDARNEWS] Over 2,000 murderous Moslems from various factions, including Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
, have fled the Idlib and Hama governorates for The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
, the Syria-based publication al-Watan reported on Thursday.

"Since the start of the anti-terrorist offensive of the Syrian Arab Army in Idlib on May 6th, local smugglers and Ottoman Turkish border guards have facilitated the illegal entry into Turkey of more than two thousand terrorists," the publication claimed, citing activists at the border town of Khirbat al-Joz in western Idlib.

The Syrian publication said most of the murderous Moslems are members of holy warrior factions like Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, which is believed to be in control of most of the Idlib Governorate.

"The final destination of these Lions of Islam are the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an countries that they will reach through Greece," they added.

Al-Watan added that "several groups of these Lions of Islam have already arrived in Greece, which highlights the seriousness of the threats recently launched by Ottoman Turkish President Recep Tayyeb Erdogan to open the doors to Europe to refugees, as happened in 2015."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Woman’s bizarre explanation for why she’s innocent in motel guard shooting
[NYPOST] A Baltimore woman shot at a motel security guard who mistook her loud sex for a fight — but denies it was attempted murder because she is too good a shot to have missed, according to charging documents.

Allison Nicole Daughtrey, 34, got into a pissing hollering yelling match with the guard at a Days Inn on Monday after he booted her out for fighting even after she insisted she had just been having sex with her girlfriend, according to WJZ.
Ewwww!
Surveillance footage from the lobby reportedly caught her pulling out and firing a handgun at his head — with the guard saying it only missed because he moved at the last second, according to the documents.
"Yessir. Parted my hair, she did!"
However, Daughtrey insisted that her handgun accidentally fired after falling from her bag as she swung it at him during the struggle, according to the Baltimore Sun.

“If I intended to ever use the gun, I would never have missed the target,” she said, according to the Sun.

She then “bit him in his right arm and continued to pull the trigger” after he grabbed the gun, according to the charging documents. The guard was taken to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment.
"That's right, yer honor! If'n I'da actually been bitin' I'da chewed his arm off!"
The bullet hit a metal frame near the lobby window and damaged the wall, curtains and window frame.

Daughtrey was arrested at the scene and is charged with attempted second-degree murder, assault, reckless endangerment, destruction of property and gun charges, according to the documents.

She is being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, the Sun reported.

Three children who had been with her at the hotel — in a separate room from her girlfriend — are in the care of their grandmother, according to the reports.

Pakistan Army soldier martyred in cross-LoC firing by Indian troops: ISPR
[DAWN] A Pakistain Army soldier was martyred after Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked" firing from across the Line of Control in Hajipir sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The soldier was identified by the military's media wing as Sepoy Ghulam Rasool, who hailed from Bahawalnagar.

According to media reports, Indian troops had targeted the same sector with intermittent shelling on Monday. However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
no losses had been reported at the time.

Earlier on Saturday, the Foreign Office (FO) had summoned Indian Charge d` Affairs Gaurav Ahluwalia to lodge a protest against "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by the Indian army.

According to a statement issued by the FO, Director General (SA & SAARC) Dr Mohammad Faisal had urged the Indian side to respect the 2003 ceasefire arrangement. He said that the Indian side should permit UNMOGIP to play its mandated role as per the UN Security Council resolutions.

The statement had said that in the last ceasefire violations on September 6 in Khuiratta sector of the LoC, the Indian forces had deliberately targeted innocent civilian participants of peaceful rallies organised to show solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Four civilians had sustained serious injuries in that incident.

The incidents of firing along the LoC come as tensions remain high between India and Pakistain over the former's move to revoke occupied Kashmir's special autonomy.

Iraq
Iraq-Saudi border crossing to reopen after nearly 30 years
[Rudaw] An Iraq-Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
border crossing is set to reopen after nearly three decades of closure, Iraq’s border crossing department announced on Thursday.

A meeting held between Iraqi and Saudi border authorities at the Arar crossing set October 15 as a test period for its reopening, a department statement said.

Anbar provincial council member Amira Odaie spoke to Rudaw on Thursday about the meeting.

"Early on Thursday morning, Iraq’s border crossing department met with their Saudi Arabian counterparts to discuss the opening of Arar crossing border, in order to boost trades and tourism between the two countries," Odaie said.

Opening the Arar crossing will also provide job opportunities to Anbar province’s young people currently suffering from high rates of unemployment, she added.

Arar crossing closed back in 1991, when relations between the two countries deteriorated after then-president Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait. Iraq-Saudi relations were further damaged under former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s tenure.

Rapprochement between the two began in 2015, when Saudi Arabia reopened their Baghdad embassy after 25 years of closure.

A Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council was established in October 2017 with the aim of strengthening relations between the two countries.

Vying for influence in the country over regional rival Iran, Saudi Arabia opened a consulate in Baghdad in April 2019 after a visit from a 100-person Saudi delegation, including nine ministers. Riyadh pledged $1.5 billion in loans to Iraq during the trip.

Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi visited Saudi Arabia later that month, when the two countries signed 13 deals in the fields of political consultation, investment promotion and protection, agriculture, energy, electricity, and higher education.

The Arar border crossing currently opens once a year, to allow Iraqi pilgrims to enter Saudi Arabia to perform the Islamic rite of Hajj.

/ISIS/IS/ISIS) resumed their attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the al-Raqqa Governorate this week.

According to local reports, an Islamic State sleeper cell in the al-Tabaqa area attacked a group of SDF fights, killing and wounding at least ten fighters.

The reports said the attack occurred at an SDF checkpoint south of Tabaqa city; it did not specify if there were any Islamic State casualties.

Both the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Syrian Democratic Forces have faced the brunt of the Islamic State’s attacks since they lost almost all of their territory inside Syria.

While the SDF controls most of the al-Raqqa Governorate (Syrian Army controls some areas), the Islamic State sleeper cells have managed to remain active by carrying out sporadic attacks that often cause several casualties.

Ocasio-Cortez: Republican Party Is ‘Scared’ of Us ‘Because They Know How Powerful’ We Are
[BREITBART] The far-left members of the "Squad" ‐ Reps. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez

...Somali-American Dem representative from Minnesota. She is apparently married to her brother and may be her own grandmaw on her mother's side...
(D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) ‐ participated in an NAACP forum Wednesday evening and declared that members of the Republican Party are "scared" of them "because they know how powerful" they are.

Ocasio-Cortez talked about her background as a waitress and told the moderator, Angela Rye, that she does not "shy away" from her background of working in restaurants because it prepared her for her current job as a congresswoman.

"Nothing will give you the ferocity of advocacy like having that kind of experience," Ocasio-Cortez said.

"No one can tell me about things like sexual harassment. No one can tell me things like working for tips on a wage that is less than the minimum wage. No one can tell me about taking the subway at 3 o’clock in the morning home from a night shift," she said, claiming that "no one else has those experiences on the other side of the aisle."

"Very few people have those experiences, and by the way, when they do, like John It is not pronounced 'Boner!' Boehner
... the occasionally weepy former establishmentarian leader of House Republicans...
, they’re lauded for it. They’re like, ’That’s a guy I could have a beer with,’ but with me, it’s like, so‐" she continued with a gesture.

The freshman politician added that the Republican Party is "scared" of the "Squad."

"It’s because they’re scared because sometimes I think that the Republican Party recognizes our power more than we do sometimes," she said.

"Tweet that," Rye interrupted.

"Because there is a reason we are on Fox News 24/7 while every pundit ‐ while they’re sending mailers with our face on it ‐ because they know how powerful we are more than sometimes our own ‐ frankly I think ‐ our own party does," she added.

At that point, Rye mentioned that Republican Dan Bishop, who defeated Democrat Dan McCready in North Carolina’s Ninth congressional district Tuesday night, gave the "Squad" a "shoutout" in his victory speech by noting that his victory was a rejection of the "radical liberal policies" pushed by members of the "Squad."

"Is that why he won by a smaller percentage than Trump did in his district?" Ocasio-Cortez mused.

Bishop secured a win with 50.7 percent to McCready’s 48.7 percent.

Olympic Officials Asked to Ban Japan’s Use of ‘Rising Sun’ Flag
[BREITBART] The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has been asked by South Korea to bar Japan from using the “Rising Sun” flag at next year’s Tokyo games, Seoul’s sports ministry said on Wednesday.

South Korea’s sports ministry sent a letter to the IOC to express its “disappointment” over Tokyo’s organising committee’s decision to allow the “Rising Sun” ensign or kyokujitsuki to be displayed, claiming it represents a “militaristic and imperial past.”

The ministry said the standard defies the peaceful spirit of the Olympics as it was a symbol of Japan’s imperialist past that reminds Asian countries of “historical wounds and pains,” and it likened it to the swastika used in Nazi Germany.

The flag, which features a red sun with 16 rays radiating from the center, has been used by Japan for many centuries and is still flown by Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force. It differs from the country’s official flag, a red disk on a white background, which will be used by its Olympic team.

US-Turkey overflights continue in northern Syria as Erdogan threatens to act unilaterally
[Rudaw] US and Ottoman Turkish helicopters performed their fourth joint air patrol over the East of Euphrates in northern Syria on Thursday as part of first phase plans to establish a safe zone in the region, days after Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
threatened to conduct independent operations in the area.

Both the Ottoman Turkish defense ministry and US Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Command released images of the overflight. According to Ankara, "two Ottoman Turkish and two US helicopters" took part in the patrol.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) detailed US participation in "several US-The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
reconnaissance overflights" in a Wednesday blurb, as well as a joint ground patrol by the two country's forces on Sunday.

"[O]ur joint ground patrol demonstrates our continued commitment to address Turkey's legitimate security concerns, while also allowing the Coalition and our SDF partners to remain focused on achieving the enduring defeat of ISIS
...embracing their inner Islamic Brute...
(ISIS)," a CENTCOM spokesperson for the International Coalition against Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) said in the release.

The first joint overflight was conducted on August 25.

Both countries’ military officials agreed on August 7 to establish a safe zone in northern Syria to deescalate tensions between the US-backed People’s Protection Units (YPG) and Turkey.

The SDF removed some of its fortifications from the border area in late August as a sign of "commitment" to the agreement.

"You can see the progress: the SDF voluntarily razed fortifications," according to the CENTCOM release.

The safe zone’s joint operations centre is based in Sanliurfa province, on the Ottoman Turkish border with Syria. A US military delegation visited the centre on Wednesday.

Erdogan has, however, expressed doubts about US levels of commitment to the safe zone plan, vowing to undertake operations independently if the safe zone is not established quickly enough.

"If the de facto formation of a safe zone east of the Euphrates with Ottoman Turkish soldiers is not initiated by the end of September, Turkey has no choice but to set out on its own," Erdogan warned during a mass opening ceremony in Malatya, eastern Turkey.

"We expect from the US to stand with us in our efforts on fighting terrorism and on establishing safe zones for migrants colonists," President Erdogan said on Tuesday at a reception held as part of the US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ visit to Turkey.

Houston Ship Channel shut down after 11 Greenpeace activists dangled off bridge ahead of 3rd Dem debate
[KXAN] Twenty-two Greenpeace USA activists created a blockade on the Fred Hartman Bridge in Baytown, Texas early Thursday ahead of the third Democratic primary debate in Houston.

Eleven of those climbers are dangling over the side of the bridge, an activist said in a Facebook Live video. The climbers held colorful ribbons and streamers to block traffic under the bridge.
"Look! Pinatas!"
The group aims to "shut down the largest oil export channel in the U.S." for 24 hours.

Law enforcement officials told the local NBC affiliate that Houston Ship Channel was temporarily closed down because the protesters threatened to lower themselves to stop ship traffic.

"This climate emergency was fueled by Trump’s climate denial and the oil industry’s greed," the group wrote in the Facebook posts. "We’re here to resist."

Harris County constables are on the bridge monitoring the scene. Law enforcement officials told local media that the protesters were peaceful so far. At least two lanes of the bridge were also blocked to traffic and they are expected to remain blocked until the protest is over.

Europe
Delingpole: Literally No One Cares About #Yellowhammer
[Breitbart] Do you hear that sound ‐ so quiet it’s almost deafening? That’s the sound of 17.4 million fucks not being given about the Remoaners’ latest fake news scare story, codenamed Yellowhammer.

Actually, I think it’s highly likely that I have underestimated the sheer scale of fucks not being given.

We know that at the very least 17.4 million people don’t give a toss what these released documents say. But that figure fails to take into account all the millions more who either didn’t turn up to vote Brexit because they thought ‐ not unreasonably ‐ that the Establishment would contrive to ignore their decision. Nor the millions who voted Remain but have since changed their minds having realised just how disgusting the Remoaner Liberal Elite actually are and just how vile and vindictive the anti-democratic European Union is.

Yellowhammer ‐ for what it’s worth ‐ is the code name for some worst-case-scenario documents, prepared by the Remainer Civil Service, as an exercise to wargame a No Deal Brexit.

John Bercow’s Remainer parliament, in its death throes, has contrived to force them to be released publicly so that everyone can tremble at the dire consequences ‐ delays at ports, possible shortages of vital foodstuffs that Remainers like to eat such as quinoa and chia seeds, more angry videos from Femi Sorry ‐ of a No Deal Brexit.

But the only people who take this theoretical nonsense seriously are Remoaners. It’s their latest version of Project Fear, that’s all.

And since Remoaners don’t count that means that literally no one cares about Yellowhammer.

I’m amazed I even bothered to write about it.

Sorry about that. Here’s a picture of a real Yellowhammer to make up for it.

#3  Yellowhammer is a list of contingencies expected by the cabinet, that everyone from Law enforcement to health and communications were asked to be prepped for by the secretariat. Some remainers and critics say it was made public to normalize the fact of a UK divorced and isolated from the EU.

Something like the list EC shared with us. Although that listed purely corporate-bureaucratic inconveniences.

Beto O’Rourke: Credit Cards Enable Mass Shootings
[BREITBART] Democrat presidential hopeful Robert "Beto" O’Rourke;
...Kennedyeque businessman, musician, skateboard artiste, and politician who represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto is a Latino nickname for people whose names end in "erto," like "Roberto" or "Alberto." He is seeking the Dem nomination for President in 2020 because he has nice hair and lots of teeth. He was born into a local political family in El Paso, Texas and is a graduate of a prep school and Columbia University, which is not in Texas. In 2005, he was elected to the El Paso City Council. He was elected to Congress in 2012 after defeating eight-term incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary. He declined to seek re-election in 2018, instead running for the Senate against Republican Ted Cruz, running a campaign that drew national attention because of his skateboarding skills. A few months after he lost, he announced his campaign for President...
is suggesting credit cards are an enabling factor in mass shootings.O’Rourke conflated the two via Twitter and followed it by pushing financial institutions to take action.

He wrote, "Credit cards have enabled many of America’s mass shootings in the last decade‐and with Washington unwilling to act, they need to cut off the sales of weapons of war today."

O’Rourke is pushing for corporate gun control even as 145 of America’s well-known companies ask Congress to take up more gun control.

On September 12, 2019, Breitbart News reported that Bain Capital, Credit Karma, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Doordash, GAP, Levi Strauss & Co., Pinterest, Reddit, Royal Caribbean, Twitter, Uber, and Yelp, and 133 other companies sent a letter to Congress asking for universal background checks and legislation allowing court orders for the confiscation of firearms.

CitiBank adopted gun control requirements for customers in March 2018.

Breitbart News reported CitiBank’s gun control policy set forth three requirements for "new retail sector clients or partners." Those requirements: (1) they don’t sell firearms to someone who hasn’t passed a background check, (2) they restrict the sale of firearms for individuals under 21 years of age, and (3) they don’t sell bump stocks or high-capacity magazines.

He founded LaSalle Partners and then Security Capital, one of the most successful REITs in the country, and later sold it to GE. (Some sources say he sold it for $2 billion and others say $5.4 billion.) Security Capital was one of the most influential real estate companies in history. India-Pakistan
Bilawal accuses centre of trying to 'occupy Karachi'
[DAWN] PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday lashed out at the federal government for "trying to occupy Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
" following Law Minister Farogh Naseem's statement that the centre was considering taking over the administrative affairs of the metropolis through a little-known constitutional provision.

Yesterday, Naseem had told Dawn that a strategic committee on Karachi was going to recommend to Prime Minister Imran Khan
...aka The Great Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
that he invoke Article 149 for the uplift of Karachi.

"After getting approval of the cabinet, the provision will be exercised. In case of any resistance shown by the provincial government, we will approach the Supreme Court under Article 184(1) of the Constitution to seek a directive in this regard. If the province still shows reluctance, we will file a contempt petition in the SC," he had said.

The minister had told news channels that it was his personal view that the Centre should take over Karachi’s affairs. Any decision was likely to be taken by the premier during his visit to the metropolis on September 14, he added.

"You try to build a narrative against [Indian Prime Minister Narendra] Modi, saying that he unconstitutionally captured occupied Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, and at the same time you try to occupy Karachi. This is bizarre," Bilawal said in his presser. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan, "who has vowed to protect human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
in [occupied] Kashmir, has ripped apart democratic rights of the people of Pakistain.

"You want to run Karachi from Islamabad?" he asked

Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Bilawal said that the PPP, which is the ruling party in Sindh, "will never accept any conspiracy" against the province.

UN slams Israeli leader's annexation vow

Secretary-General António Guterres said the Israeli leader's vow to annex the Jordan Valley would be a "serious violation of international law".

The particularly strong rebuke from the world body follows a chorus of criticism against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his promise to annex the area if he wins re-election next week.

Britain
Altaf Hussain leaves London police station as bail extended in hate speech case
[DAWN] Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain appeared before a police station in London after he was summoned for questioning in a probe related to his alleged hate speeches relayed from the United Kingdom to his followers in Pakistan.

Hussain arrived at the Southwark police station at around 10am local time and left after nearly four-and-a-half hours, Mustafa Azizabadi of the MQM-London told Dawn.

He was allowed to leave after his bail was extended. The duration of the bail wasn't immediately known.

In June, the MQM founder was arrested from his London residence as part of the investigation into his alleged hate speeches. However, he was released on bail a day later by the British authorities without filing charges relating to the probe.

#2  England is largely seen as the parking space for moolah and for seeking refuge from governments. This sample is not as evil as the news from DAWN will paint him though.

An army reject himself, he's against Pakistain's link to talibaners, using terrorists for political gain and violation of boundaries. And he advocated democracy and equal rights for minorities in the 'Stain and non-funding of the jamaats with funds begged from the world bank.

In '92 the Nawaz Sharif govt cracked down on his MQM and hounded him out. Chiefly because he would not toe the military-mullah line and was chased away by mullahs. He was even accused of being a R&AW guy once. I don't know about his personal motives, but he usually talks sense, which is anathema to muslims (mainly Pakis) and registers in their ears as 'hate speech'. He occasionally rouses the rabble in Pakistain to rebel and protest.

The UK courts may be daft but they're thankfully not totally owned by mullahs yet, so he enjoys their protection. There have been three attempts on his life by the ISI from 2014 to 2017.

-Land of the Free
Dem-Controlled House Passes Magazine Ban And More
[BearingArms] The U.S. House of Representatives passed three gun control bills on Tuesday, ramping up the pressure on the U.S. Senate to "do something" now that Congress has returned from its legislative session. The three bills include a measure offering grants to states to set up "red flag" laws, a prohibition on gun ownership for those convicted of misdemeanor hate crimes, and a ban on magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition. Later this month the House Judiciary Committee is also expected to pass a sweeping ban on semi-automatic firearms and magazines over 10 rounds.

The additional gun control measures passed by the House are meant to apply pressure to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who said gun control would be "front and center" when the Senate returned, but has since said he won't bring any gun bill to the floor that won't be signed by President Donald Trump. On Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said McConnell's inaction has led to the deaths of Americans.
Horrible, ineffective and tyrannical idea after idea. This is the full sprint to a total gun ban by the left. One can only hope that the Senate doesn't cave to this and Trump doesn't sign it if they do.

Otherwise the Republicans are dead as a party. And so is the US.
