Virginia Persecutes Christian Realtor Over “Jesus Loves You”
[TheNewAmerican] Under the guise of combating "discrimination," a rogue government body in Virginia is brazenly persecuting and discriminating against a Christian real-estate agent. Her supposed crime: using the phrase "Jesus love you" in her e-mail signature and featuring the John 3:16 Bible verse on her website. Seriously. But now, a prominent Christian legal organization is coming to her aid, warning that anti-Christian discrimination cannot be tolerated in America.

That would be the American Center for Law and Justice - Do read their article here.

Until recently, Virginia Realtor Hadassah Carter has never been accused by anyone of "discrimination." Her clients include Catholics, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Kenyans, and more. And no client has ever suggested anything wrong. But because she is Christian and publicly shares her faith, authorities at the Virginia Real Estate Board put a target on her back. If the government is successful, Carter will either forfeit her God-given rights to free speech and religious liberty, or lose her livelihood.

Even more terrifying than the individual persecution of Carter, perhaps, are the broader implications of the case for religious liberty and free speech in Virginia and beyond. If state authorities are successful in silencing or destroying Carter, it could mean that everyone who holds a government license to engage in commerce ‐ from plumbers and barbers to hairstylists and attorneys - could lose their God-given rights to speak, too.

Ironically, Carter became a target while reporting a case of suspected racial discrimination to authorities. It seems the email alerted them to her signature pointing out that, as John 3:16 puts it, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." She was never accused of refusing to rent to or represent anyone. Instead, the argument is that a realtor using religious speech could hypothetically make somebody "feel" discriminated against.

And so, with officials claiming "Jesus loves you" was a violation of the state's "fair housing" statute, Carter became a target. Among other actions, they forced her employer into an agreement that required them to either fire her or monitor her and report any religious comments she might make to the government. Of course, as a Christian, Carter could not remain silent about Christ, so she resigned rather than be silenced.
With people like an Ibrahim Moiz on the board, not much else can be expected.

#2  Historians trace the modern GOP allegiance of southern evangelicals to a shift that occurred during the presidency of Jimmy Carter.
M
Prior to 1980, most Southern Baptists and evangelicals were Democrats. The perception took hold that the Carter admin was seeking to strip southern ministries (and all religious organizations nationwide) of their tax-exempt status. Alert GOP strategists saw an opportunity to shift evangelicals to the GOP, and the result was the 1980 landslide.

Wonder if a similar phenom is starting to gather momentum now, quietly, unbeknownst to the Twittersphere and the media morons?

Iran says it's ready for war with US after Saudi oil attack accusations
Tough talk from towelheads with a collapsing economy
[Sky] Iran has dismissed US accusations it was behind drone attacks on Saudi Arabia's oil plants, and warned it is ready for a "full-fledged" war.

Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said Washington had adopted a "maximum pressure" strategy against Iran, but because of "its failure [the US] is leaning toward maximum lies".

His remarks came as a senior commander in Iran's Revolutionary Guards said America's military bases and aircraft carriers, which are stationed up to 1,243 miles around Iran, were within range of Iranian missiles.

#6  Surely it will work out just as well as the last time we interfered with Iran's government. You remember, in 1979 when we abandoned the Shah, as he was a human rights violator. The Ayatollahs took over in a completely surprising move. Especially seeing as we had met with them before we gave the green light to them.

Or it will work as well as the time we meddled in Iran in the 50s. That was when we overthrew the elected government for the crime of wanting to share its oil wealth with its people. Bad wrong doubleplusungood! We installed the Shah.

#11  Herb, nobody chooses to go to war for kicks. States that value and wish to keep their international interests and alliances secure are eventually forced to act to preempt the actions of other States on a collision course with them.

States that do not preemptively act often find themselves beset by actors who then get to become quite a bit of a bother.

If America has failed Your knowledge of that is encyclopedic. in any regard at these conflicts or political screwups have been caused, it's because of several factors that impinged upon every respective situation, not because the decision to act itself is flawed.

You can't simply collapse your entire intelligence apparatus, become deaf to alarms from your spies, close your eyes to armed State leaders who declare war on 'America the great Satan', and call it a day.

The Questions Asked By Mike Flynn's Lawyer Shows She Has Been Getting A Lot Of Help From Within The FBI
[RedState] On Thursday, Mike Flynn’s legal team was back in court. What the team, led by the awesome Sidney Powell, is trying to do is to convince a federal judge that the government’s treatment of Flynn has been so egregious and so in defiance of court orders that the only remedy is to throw out the case. My colleague, Bonchie, covered it in Michael Flynn’s Legal Team Throws Down The Gauntlet. Essentially, Powell asked Judge Emmett Sullivan to make the government show cause as to why it should not be held in contempt.

Now that Powell’s full motion to compel has been unsealed, we can see that she knows a helluva lot about what went on within the upper ranks of the FBI and that can only be because someone who was in the room at critical times is feeding her information.

Obama Bro Ben Rhodes Bursts In Like The Kool-Aid Man To Shill For Iran After Deadly Attacks
Yesterday, massive explosions rocked a Saudi Arabian oil field, shutting down 5% of the world’s production. As my colleague streiff shared earlier today, we didn’t have to wait long to find out who did it. If you had Iran as the aggressor, congrats, although that’s not a difficult guess these days. It appears cruise missiles, possibly fired by Iranian backed militias in Iraq, were used in the attack.

Rhodes has never met a situation where he doesn’t run to side with the Mullahs. The relationship he has with them and the sheer amount of shilling he does in their favor leaves a lot of open questions. Just why is he so invested in propping up a brutal Islamic dictatorship? What’s in it for Rhodes?

Election Committee rejects Netanyahu's request for emergency meeting
not just in USA
[Jpost] The head of the Central Elections Committee Supreme Court Judge Hanan Melcer turned down a request from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to hold a "emergency meeting" on alleged forgeries in the Arab sector in the April election.

Netanyahu requested the meeting following an investigation published in Friday’s Maariv newspaper, which found that out of 82 incidents of forgeries published months ago in the newspaper, only two of the 82 who complained about the alleged forgeries were contacted by police.

But Blue and White leader Benny Gantz asked Melcer not to meet with Netanyahu, saying that it would be interfering in the election and helping Netanyahu harm the election process.

Gantz requested a meeting himself with Melcer in order to persuade him not to meet with Netanyahu.

Melcer ruled that neither Netanyahu nor Gantz would get to meet with him and told them that if they have a problem they can send him a letter.

"I told the Minister of Health that within a year, there must inevitably be no patient being treated abroad. Do we lack the skills? Green energy policies proliferating a ‘greenhouse gas' with ‘23,500 times more warming than CO2'
wouldn't surprise me a bit - the road to hell
[AmericanThinker] Global warming hysteria has driven a lot of stupid investment in purportedly "green" energy production that turns out to create new problems. Wind farms that kill millions of birds because migratory birds follow the same winds that are ideal for wind power, for instance. Bald eagles, normally illegal to kill in the United States, are allowed to be slaughtered by wind farms.

Then there are the massive lithium batteries needed for electric cars, full of toxic heavy metals, that pose a huge problem of disposal when they wear out after about ten years. And the solar energy farms that eat up vast acreage and incinerate passing birds with their "death rays."

But now the BBC focuses on yet another blowback from green energy policies: the allegedly super-duper, extra-special global warming gas sulfur hexaflouride, abbreviated as SF6, that is leaking into the atmosphere from electrical equipment, where it is used as an insulator, to prevent fires and explosions.

As more windmills, solar installations, and other decentralized energy production facilities supplement large coal- and other hydrocarbon-based electrical generating installations when the wind is blowing or the sun is shining, the amount of SF6-containing equipment is rising. Indeed, one of the interest group support bases for green energy projects consists of the electrical equipment manufacturing industry that realizes they can sell much more equipment because the green sources can’t be used all the tie and need to be supplemented by base load generators that are reliable because they depend on hydrocarbon fuels.

The BBC article that hypes the alleged global warming danger of S6 is classic of hysteria mongering. At the top, it shows a picture of icky orange-ish polluted air, even though SF6 and CO2 both are colorless and odorless. It never explains why SF6 is "23,500 times more warming than carbon dioxide (CO2)" but features plenty of graphics like these:
Image can be seen at the link.
And projections like this:

...the global installed base of SF6 is expected to grow by 75% by 2030.

Even worse, there is no available substitute for high voltage equipment:

For high-voltage applications, experts say there are very few solutions that have been rigorously tested.

"There is no real alternative that is proven," said Prof Manu Haddad from the school of engineering at Cardiff University.

"There are some that are being proposed now but to prove their operation over a long period of time is a risk that many companies don't want to take."

Warmists need an equivalent of the Hippocratic Oath: First do no harm. But of course, there is so much self-interested rent-seeking a work in the movement that such a pledge will never be taken.

Taliban Drops Ban, Guarantees Security of Red Cross in Afghanistan
[VOA] KABUL, AFGHANISTAN - The Taliban on Sunday revoked their ban on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan and gave a guarantee of security for its staff doing humanitarian work in areas under their control.
Projecting a humane image ahead of the Emirate declaration, or they just need the smelly bodies gone ?
Taliban leaders imposed a ban on the ICRC and the World Health Organization (WHO) in April saying the organizations were carrying out "suspicious" activities during vaccinations campaigns and not sticking to their declared missions.

"The Islamic Emirate restores the former security guarantees to ICRC in Afghanistan and instructs all mujahideen to pave the way for ICRC activities and be mindful of security to this committee's workers and equipment," Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement.
The demand for a Red Ak-47 insignia shall come later maybe.
The Taliban refer to themselves as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The spokesman did not refer to the WHO in his statement.

Officials at ICRC and WHO in Kabul were not immediately available for comment.

The WHO has been carrying out a vaccination campaign in Afghanistan, one of the last countries in the world where polio is endemic. The ICRC has been providing medical support for more than 30 years.

Aid groups operating in Afghanistan stress that they do not take sides.

The ICRC in particular is known for its strict neutrality in conflicts.

It operates in Taliban-controlled areas with a guarantee of safety and helps to repatriate bodies from both sides after fighting between the militants and the Afghan army.

The Taliban control or contest more than half of Afghanistan's 410 Afghan districts.

46 Palestinians injured in West Bank clashes - report
[Jpost] 46 Paleostinians were maimed in festivities with IDF forces in the West Bank town of al-Eizariya between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim, according to the Paleostine Red Islamic Thingy Society, reported the Paleostinian Sawa news agency.

A 6-year-old girl who was hit by a tear gas canister in the head was among the injured, according to Sawa. She was transferred to Hadassah Hospital for treatment.

Gilad Erdan: There may be a military operation in Gaza in the coming days
“When you least expect it... nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!”
[Jpost] "There may be a military operation and there may be other actions in the coming days, it's dependent on many things," said Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan in an interview with Kan news on Saturday.

Erdan clarified that the state, of course, needed to try other means to achieve quiet before going to war, but that, after multiple attempts, negotiation attempts between Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and Israel had failed.

"When we talk about an agreement, we tried and we tried and we tried, it didn't succeed," said Erdan. "Hamas, even though there were 300 [Paleostinians] that we killed when they were trying to breach the border fence in the Friday protests, continues to allow the chaos from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Strip, and therefore there is an understanding today that there will be a need to go into a military operation. The time will be chosen by us and we won't notify them beforehand."

On Friday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel might head to a military operation in the Gaza Strip before elections take place, according to Channel 13.

"It looks like there will be no other choice but to embark on a wide-scale campaign in Gaza," said Netanyahu.

"There probably won’t be a choice but to topple the Hamas regime. Hamas doesn’t exert its illusory sovereignty in the Strip and doesn’t prevent attacks," he said. "We have a situation in which a terror group that launches rockets has taken over, and doesn’t rein in rogue factions even when it wants to."

Trump discussed 'Mutual Defense Treaty' with Netanyahu
[Jpost] It wasn’t akin to the US recognizing Israel’s illusory sovereignty over the Golan Heights, but on Saturday US President Trump extended an election gesture to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he tweeted that he would meet the prime minister later this month and discuss an Israel-US security pact.

"I had a call today with Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss the possibility of moving forward with a Mutual Defense Treaty, between the United States and Israel, that would further anchor the tremendous alliance between our two countries," Trump tweeted. "I look forward to continuing those discussions after the Israeli Elections when we meet at the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
later this month!"

Netanyahu responded by tweeting back to Trump: "Thank you my dear friend President @realDonaldTrump. The Jewish State has never had a greater friend in the White House."

Netanyahu, depending on the outcome of Tuesday election, is expected to attend the UN General Assembly ‐ which Trump will also attend ‐ that begins one week later on September 24.

Last March, some two weeks before the April 9 election, Trump recognized Israel’s control over the Golan Heights in a move that was widely seen as being timed to boost Netanyahu at the polls.

While the idea of a US-Israel defense pact has been discussed on and off for several decades, it has re-emerged in recent months. Sen. Lindsey Graham
...soft-spoken senator from South Carolina, former best buddy of John Maverick McCain. Since McCain's demise, Graham has become more outspoken, more Republican and more of a supporter of President Trump. The speech he gave in support of Brett Kavanaugh was downright manly and really cheesed off the Dems...
(R-South Carolina) broached the proposal in June at a dinner hosted by the Endowment for Middle East Truth, saying he wanted Israel to be added to the list of countries with which the US has treaty obligations.

"I think it is important to send a signal in the 21st century: If you are intending to destroy Israel, you have to go through us, and it will not turn out well for you," he said.

Graham discussed the idea of a treaty when he was in Israel in July. Politically, this is something that could benefit both Netanyahu and Trump in their upcoming electoral battles: Netanyahu in securing a another diplomatic gift from a friendly administration, and Trump in giving something to Israel that will go down well with his evangelical base.

While some analysts view such a treaty as a significant diplomatic achievement, others say such a pact could limit Israel’s operational freedom.

#1  Mutual Defense Treat? hmmm....as if a country attacks Israel and then we are obligated to attack that country? And vise versa. A) We are going to need more materiel. More MOABS, bunker busters and tactical nukes. B) We better read the fine print of the document with our Jewish friends very carefully.

#3  Maybe it's more of a shew of determined alliance for the jew-haters back home, to trigger the bastards into showing themselves. Gawd knows while a Republican president is in office, there's no need for a formal treaty. And Israel has always assisted US security, defense or offense.

#4  Maybe it's more of a shew of determined alliance for the jew-haters back home

Underlining that the Republicans are pro-Israel, while the Democrats have become anti-Israel. Coincidentally, there is an interview in the local newspaper today with the spokesperson for the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati, who discusses anti-semitism on both left and right, and explicitly mentions the difficulties experienced by liberal Jewish kids going off to college and being told that Jews are not wanted... while not mentioning neo-Nazis at all.

Given that Jews in America are very active politically, both as donors and as voters despite their small numbers, if numbers of this population just withhold a portion of donations and organization effort, even if they don’t come all the way over to the dark side, that would be a big loss for the Democrats.

This is another step in the re-aligning of the two parties. The Democrats love to claim that Richard Nixon flipped the two parties: the Democrats taking the black vote because they were so open and welcoming and stuff, while the Republicans adopted Southern white racism. Now, with the Walk Away movement picking up some big names among black actors and athletes, not to mention increasing numbers of gays, Hispanics, Asians, and Jews, the change is ready to be publicly underlined. (I don’t want to add a second link here, so just go to walkawaycampaign.com to read testimonials and see videos. Kitty Demure’s video is especially interesting.)

Every new litmus test makes it harder to be a True Believer: hate Israel? think there are 147 genders? OK with abortion up to and beyond birth? socialism good? At this rate the last Democratic debate will conclude with a rousing chorus of the Internationale.

Police face protesters in Nantes as 'yellow vest' marches resume
[AlAhram] Hundreds of demonstrators faced police in a tense stand-off in the French city of Nantes on Saturday as revived "yellow vest" protests against the government of President Emmanuel Macron took place across the country.
Hundreds? Why did they even bother writing an article?
Police responded with tear gas after some protesters threw projectiles. A front man with the local prefecture said 21 people had been arrested.

Television footage showed groups of black-clad protesters trying to break into shops, while police trucks carrying water cannon were seen arriving on scene.

The Gilets Jaunes (yellow vest) protests, named after motorists' high-visibility jackets, began over fuel tax increases but morphed into a sometimes violent revolt against Macron and a government they see as out of touch.

The president has sought to ease tensions with 17 billion euros ($18.82 billion) of countermeasures to boost the monthly minimum wage, remove some taxes, and offer relief to poor retirees. But he faces a new round of anger with a long-awaited reform that seeks to merge La Belle France's 42 different pension systems into a single points-based system.

Gay Pareeian commuters faced travel misery on Friday as metro workers went on strike over plans to reduce their retirement privileges.

Militant attacks kill four soldiers in Pakistan
[AlAhram] Four Pak soldiers were killed in two different holy warrior attacks in northwestern tribal regions near the Afghan border, the military said Saturday.

The incidents happened late Friday night in North Wazoo and Dir, where several military operations have been launched in recent years against homegrown and foreign holy warriors.

"Miscreants opened fire on a routine patrolling party of security forces near the Abba Khel area of North Waziristan, killing a soldier. In an exchange of fire, two miscreants were also killed," the military said in a statement.

Separately, it said three soldiers guarding a fence on the border with Afghanistan were killed and another was injured "when turbans from across the border opened fire on them in Dir town".

The Mighty Pak Army launched a massive operation in 2014 to wipe out holy warrior bases in North Waziristan and end a near decade-long insurgency that has cost thousands of lives.

Violence in Pakistain has declined following the military offensives in the region, but holy warrior groups are still able to carry out deadly attack

Another torture case surfaces, this time in Lodhran
[DAWN] There seems to be no let-up in police torture cases in the province as another police official faced action on Friday after a video went viral, showing him torturing a man in the Jalla Arain Police Station area.

A video went viral on social media, showing Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Mukhtiar Masood of the Jalla Arain Police Station torturing a man, identified as Jawan Mard, against whom a complaint was registered with the cop shoppe. Jawan was being tortured at the home of the complainant in presence of a large number of people.

According to a source, ASI Mukhtiar had arrested Jawan and brought him to the home of the complainant where the local people had also gathered.

As ASI Mukhtiar started beating Jawan Mard with a stick, some of the people present there tried to stop him.

A man is seen saying to the ASI, "Don’t torture him here. The boys are making videos. You can do (to him) whatever you want to at the cop shoppe but don’t beat him here".

Lodhran District Police Officer Malik Jameel Zafar reached the Jalla Arain Police Station and took action against ASI Mukhtiar. He lodged a first information report (FIR) against Mukhtiar and arrested him.

After taking action, the DPO told Dawn an FIR had been registered against Mukhtiar under the Police Order and he had been arrested. "Although the incident had taken place more than two months ago, it has come to my knowledge now and I took swift action against him (ASI)."

DPO Zafar said nobody, including a police officer, was above the law and whosoever committed an offence would face action.

An inquiry has also been launched into the incident under Lodhran SP Investigations Syed Abbas.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Syrian Army nearly hits Turkish military in southern Idlib
[ALMASDARNEWS] During an attack on Friday, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) nearly struck a Ottoman Turkish observation post in the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate, a source from the military told al-Masdar News.

According to the source, the Syrian Arab Army was heavily shelling the southern region of Idlib, when their forces nearly hit the Ottoman Turkish observation post that was located just north of the Hama Governorate.

The source said the Ottoman Turkish military informed the Russian Armed Forces about the incident that took place on Friday, as it was the first time the Syrian Arab Army nearly hit an observation post in weeks.

The Ottoman Turkish military currently possesses 12 observation posts in northwestern Syria, with most of them positioned along the so-called "demilitarized zone" that stretches from Aleppo to Latakia.

Last month, one of the Ottoman Turkish observation posts in the town of Morek became fully encircled by the Syrian Arab Army after the latter scored a major advance across southern Idlib.

Instead of withdrawing from the area, the Ottoman Turkish military would remain in Morek, prompting the Russian Armed Forces to get involved to ease tensions.

Since then, the Russian military has deployed their troops to the checkpoints around the Ottoman Turkish observation post, as the Syrian Army fully withdrew from the town of Morek.

6 civilians killed in shelling on Idlib despite ceasefire
(IraqiNews) At least six non-combatants were killed in a rocket shelling by the government forces on the southern areas of Idlib Province, northwest of Syria, despite the two-week ceasefire imposed on the area.

A ceasefire in Idlib was declared by Moscow and approved by Damascus, took effect at the end of August, but is increasingly being violated, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Yesterday, government forces shelled Maarat al-Nu’man and Kafrnabel, in the southern countryside of Idlib, killing five civilians, including a child, while a sixth civilian was killed by Russian strikes on a village in the western countryside of the province.

Since the ceasefire was imposed, the corpse count has risen to 11 civilians, eight of them were killed by rocket and artillery shelling, which were conducted by government forces, and two by Russian raids, while raids by government forces have killed at least one civilian.

The SOHR also reported that a rocket shelling was carried out by government forces, on Saturday, in several areas in southern Idlib, northern Lattakia and western Hama, only one day after several shells landed near where the Ottoman Turkish forces are stationed, in the village of Kafr Hattat, in the southern countryside of Idlib.

Furthermore, it also revealed that the Russian planes concentrated their strikes on the headquarters of the jihadist groups in the western countryside of Idlib and northeast Latakia.

It is noteworthy that Idlib is home of about three million people, about half of whom are displaced, and it is controlled by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

It’s doubly official: Trump confirms killing of al-Qaeda Heir Hamza Bin Laden
(IraqiNews) United States President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
confirmed on Saturday that Hamza bin Laden, the son of the later al-Qaeda founder the late Osama bin Laden
...... who was laid out deader than a mackerel, right next to the mackerel......
, was killed in an operation by the anti-terrorism forces, on the Afghanistan-Pakistain border.

In a statement issed by the White House, Trump said, "The loss of Hamza bin Laden not only deprives al-Qaeda of important leadership skills and the symbolic connection to his father, but undermines important operational activities of the group."

It is noteworthy that in 31 July 2019, U.S. officials announced that Hamza Bin Laden, the son of the later Leader and Founder of al-Qaeda terrorist organization, was killed in U.S. anti-terrorism operation.
Rudaw adds:
The State Department said Hamza was married to a daughter of Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, a senior Al-Qaeda leader indicted by a US federal grand jury in 1998 for his role in the bombings that year of US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya -- attacks overseen by the senior Bin Laden.

Over one-third of criminal cases are of domestic violence: report
[DAWN] In the case of Pakistain, which ranks sixth on the list of the most dangerous countries for women, it is not possible to change gendered social norms regarding domestic violence by only focusing on legal reform, according to a recent report published in the Journal of International Women’s Studies.
Land O' The Pure™
"Women are subjected to violence that includes acid attacks, female genital mutilation, child marriage, forced marriage and female infanticide," said the report titled ’Not accepting abuse as the norm: local forms of institutional reform to improve reporting on domestic violence in Punjab’ that is co-authored by Maryam Tanwir, Shailaja Fennell, Hafsah Rehman Lak and Salman Sufi.

The report looks at reforms in Punjab, where legal structural obstacles and discriminatory gender norms prevent women from accessing justice.

According to the report’s abstract, it draws on a new framework for influencing changes in individuals’ behaviour to reduce the condoning of domestic violence.

Using a mixed-methods approach the report introduces a new initiative of women for institutional reform undertaken by the Strategic Reforms Unit (SRU) in Pakistain, to examine the role of social norms in normalising the practice of domestic violence.

This initiative, the report claims, provides an opportunity for examining how prevalent social norms can be changed by both improving women’s access to legal processes regarding the registration and prosecution of crimes as well as addressing public shame associated with the wearing of a tracking device by the assailant.

Soldier martyred, woman dead in unprovoked firing by Indian troops across LoC
[DAWN] A Pakistain Army soldier was martyred after Indian troops resorted to "unprovoked firing" in the Hajipir sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.

The official was identified by the military's media wing as 33-year-old Havaldar Nasir Hussain, a resident of Narowal, who had been in service for 16 years.

A second ISPR statement issued later in the day said Indian troops had also resorted to unprovoked firing in Nakyal and Jandrot sectors, targeting the civilian population.

As a result of the firing, a woman identified as Fatima Bibi, a 40-year-old resident of village Balakot, died, while six others including four women sustained injuries. The injured were evacuated to a nearby medical facility for medical treatment, the blurb added.

Pictures shared by the villagers on social media showed smoke rising from the mountains where mortar shells from across the LoC had landed. Several houses were also damaged.

Shariq Talat, a disaster management officer in Kotli, told Dawn that besides Fatima Bibi, seven others were maimed in "indiscriminate" Indian shelling. They were identified as Nazia Bibi, 36; Shah Begum, 70; Gul Yasmin, 50, and her 21-year-old daughter Shumaila; Muhammad Lal in Daryari Paalani village; Muhammad Ilyas, 28, a resident of Androth Palani village; and Muhammad Sabir, 48, in Dharoti Mohra.

He said that two buffalos and a goat owned by Muhammad Lal were also killed in the shelling.

According to civilian and military sources, at least 38 civilians have been killed and 187 maimed in ceasefire violations by the Indian army in different areas of AJK along the LoC in 2019. Apart from them, as many as 18 soldiers have also bit the dust.

Democratic senator warns O'Rourke AR-15 pledge could haunt party for years
[THEHILL] Sen. Christopher Coons (D-Del.) on Friday warned that Beto O’Rourke;
...Kennedyeque businessman, musician, skateboard artiste, and politician who represented Texas' 16th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019. Beto is a Latino nickname for people whose names end in "erto," like "Roberto" or "Alberto." He is seeking the Dem nomination for President in 2020 because he has nice hair and lots of teeth. He was born into a local political family in El Paso, Texas and is a graduate of a prep school and Columbia University, which is not in Texas. In 2005, he was elected to the El Paso City Council. He was elected to Congress in 2012 after defeating eight-term incumbent Silvestre Reyes in the Democratic primary. He declined to seek re-election in 2018, instead running for the Senate against Republican Ted Cruz, running a campaign that drew national attention because of his skateboarding skills. A few months after he lost, he announced his campaign for President...
’s pledge that the government will confiscate semiautomatic AR-15 rifles will become a rallying cry for gun rights groups for years to come and haunt the Democratic Party far into the future.

"I frankly think that that clip will be played for years at Second Amendment rallies with organizations that try to scare people by saying that Democrats are coming for your guns," Coons, an ally of former Vice President Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden
...Failed seeker of the Democratic presidential nomination on multiple occasions, vice president under Barack Obama, giving it a last try in his dotage for 2020...
in the Democratic race, told CNN’s Poppy Harlow in an interview.

O’Rourke, a former member of Congress from Texas, received loud applause at the Democratic debate in Houston on Thursday when he declared: "Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47. We’re not going to allow it to be used against fellow Americans anymore."

O’Rourke’s statement confirms the fears of many Republicans and gun rights advocates who say the ultimate goal of the gun control movement is government confiscation of firearms.

"When you really understand what the endgame of the left is, it’s literally mandatory buybacks or as I call it: confiscation. This is a step-by-step process for them," Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) told The Hill Thursday when asked about the debate over expanded background checks for firearms sales.

Coons, who is working with Republicans to pass more modest gun control measures, scrambled on Friday to contain the fallout from O’Rourke’s statement.

"I don’t think having our presidential candidates, like Congressman O’Rourke did, say that we’re going to try to take people’s guns against their will is a wise policy or political move," Coons said.

Asked if O’Rourke’s statement was irresponsible or hurt the party, Coons said, "we’ll have to see."

Coons has sponsored a bill with Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) that would require law enforcement officials to be notified when someone prohibited from purchasing a gun attempts to buy one.

Sen. Kennedy: Trusting Russia, North Korea, Iran like trusting 'a Jussie Smollett police report'
[FoxNews] Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana on Saturday said America can't trust nations like Russia and Iran, comparing their leaders' credibility to that of disgraced actor Jussie Smollett.
Or a Democrat
"I trust Russia and China and Iran and North Korea like I trust a Jussie Smollett police report," Kennedy said, referring to the former "Empire" actor accused of lying to police about being a hate crime victim.

"You can't trust them and they're not going to stop -- they're not our friends. Since President Trump took office, they don't love us anymore, but I think, by God, they respect us now," he added during an appearance on "Your World."

Kennedy was responding to former Defense Secretary James Mattis previously saying he was very worried about Russian President Vladimir Putin and considered him a "threat."

Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report, released earlier this year, found that Putin's government engaged in a concerted effort to influence the 2016 presidential election.

Since before Trump's election, the Justice Department has been investigating that meddling and potential collaboration with the Trump campaign.

The Trump team alleged, however, that DOJ officials abused their power in order to investigate his campaign.

More details are expected to surface, with the Justice Department's inspector general telling lawmakers Friday that he has submitted a draft report on potential surveillance abuses.

Kennedy told "Your World" host Neil Cavuto that Attorney General William Barr, who received the draft, should work to release that report publicly as soon as possible.

If the report shows surveillance abuses, Kennedy said the perpetrators need to be "dismissed."

"If necessary," he added, "they need to be prosecuted with great vengeance and furious anger."
Erm, yea

Lou Dobbs on Romney declining to endorse in 2020: 'What is wrong with this man?'
[THEHILL] Fox Business host Lou Dobbs went after Sen. Willard Mitt Romney
...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012, now Senator from Utah. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals. He is currently a member of the Never Trump Party and is attempting to assume the mantle of the late John McCain...
on Friday after the Utah Republican said this week that he does not plan to endorse President Trump or others in 2020, asking, "What is wrong with this man?"

Dobbs, a vocal backer of Trump, referred to the GOP senator as a "never Trumper and RINO" in a segment Friday night. He began the segment by touting Trump's electoral chances in 2020 as well as predictions that there won't be a recession next year.

"Can you hear the tears falling on the marble floors under those terrible, terrible anti-Trump-ers?" he asked, suggesting more attention should be paid to "this booming Trump economy."

He then shared news that Romney would not endorse in the 2020 presidential race, either before or during the general election when Trump is seeking a second term.

"Romney says he has no plans to endorse President Trump for the 2020 election," Dobbs began.

"I know many of you were waiting to hear what Romney would be saying about our president," he deadpanned. "Well, there it is."

The segment was first reported by Mediaite.

Dobbs noted that Romney was so far declining to endorse Trump "or any other Republican candidate in the primary or general election."

"I mean the despair is spreading across the country now," he said.

Dobbs pointed out that Romney also declined to endorse Trump in 2016 before he eventually won, adding: "As you can see, he's not a quick learner."

He then turned to interview former White House aide Kelly Sadler, a communications official for a pro-Trump super PAC, about Romney, asking: "What is wrong with this man?"

Romney, who has sporadically broken with Trump on various policy issues, said this week that he doesn't plan to endorse anyone in the 2020 election.

"I'm not planning on endorsing in the presidential race," he told CNN. "At this stage, I'm not planning on endorsing in the primary or in the general."

His career as a money guy will be hurt if he is seen as in any way sympathetic to Trump by those business counterparties whom he critically depends on for deal flow, exits, and financing.

Those counterparties - Wall Streeters and bank execs as well as consumer company CEOs - are now falling into line with The Resistance and signaling to the Dems, the media and various blackmail "activists" that they are woke, that they oppose racism 'n' sexism ''n' cis-hetero-normative-genderism.

SLFA joins the Revolutionary Front ahead of talks for peace in Sudan
[Sudan Tribune] The Sudan Liberation Forces Alliance (SLFA) headed by Altaher Hajer officially joined the rebel umbrella Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) ahead of peace talks with the transitional government in Khartoum said a statement released on Friday.

"The SRF informs the Sudanese people that the SLFA has joined the Revolutionary Front per the provisions of the Constitution and the regulations of the Front," said a statement signed by the SRF leader Hadi Idriss on.

Idriss added that this move demonstrates the SRF keenness for the unity of the armed opposition groups in support of the peaceful Sudanese revolution and democratic transition in the country.

The SLFA was formed by three armed groups on 7 July 2017. The alliance includes the Sudan Liberation Movement for Justice, Sudan Liberation Movement-Unity and the Justice and Equality Movement of Abdallah Bishr Gali.

The three groups elected Altaher Abubakr Hajer as chairman of the SLFA, Abdallah Yahia as a deputy-chairman while Mahgoub al-Aghbash was elected as head of the legislative council and Ahmed Mohamed Suleiman as the deputy-speaker.

During the recent talks with the Sudanese transitional government that led to the signing of the Juba Declaration on peace in Sudan, the SLFA negotiated and signed the declaration with the SRF groups.

Asked by Sudan Tribune if he would join the large umbrella of armed groups, Altaher said they are considering the matter saying they have been encouraged by the South Sudanese government for the sake of peace in Sudan.

"We are moving in this direction and we have not rejected the issue of unity. We are on the road to join the SRF and the coming days we can be part of the alliance," he said.

Last April, the SLFA joined the Sudanese Historical Bloc (SHB) together with the Hilu (SPLM-N Hilu) and a faction of eastern Sudan Beja Conference led by Zeinab Kabbashi (BC-Kabbashi).

Asked why he did not negotiate the Juba Declaration besides the SLM-N led by Abdel Aziz al-Hilu, Altaher Hajer said the SHB is just a political declaration that has no established structures.

SRF leader Hadi Idriss, in his statement, said their door is open for all the opposition groups to join them "in support of peace, stability and good governance".

Turkish airstrikes in Qandil kill 2 PKK fighters: local sources
[Rudaw] Two Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters were killed in Friday evening Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on Qandil, local sources allege, with the airstrikes also resulting in the destruction of villager homes, agricultural fires, power cuts, and other material damage.

The airstrikes against PKK positions took place at around 7pm in Qandil, in the far north of the Kurdistan Region’s Erbil province. The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
’s defense ministry claimed later that evening to have "neutralized" two PKK guerillas in the strikes.

"As the result of coordinated activities between Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces [TSK] and the National Intelligence Organization [MIT] in northern Iraq’s Qandil region, [Ottoman Turkish] air operations neutralized two members of the separatist terrorist organization of the PKK," read a statement from the defense ministry on Twitter.

Ankara uses the word neutralized to refer to those killed, maimed, or otherwise removed from the battlefield.

Rudaw spoke to two local sources in the area who claimed two PKK fighters were killed in the airstrike.

One of the sources, who for fear of risk to his personal safety did not want to be named, said some PKK members came down from the nearby mountains to collect the remains of their fighters maimed by one of the strikes.

Shakhawan Warti, head of Qasre sub-district in Choman district, told Rudaw that Ottoman Turkish warplanes bombarded Razwelka, Qalat, and Wasanyan villages in the Balayan Valley "on three consecutive occasions which led to blackout in these villages."

The airstrike also caused the "blockage of Balayan-Qasre main road, destruction of the houses of some villages due to fragments [of the bombs]," he said.

The PKK-affiliated Roj News also reported the damage caused by the airstrikes, including the burning of land in the area and the partial destruction of a mosque - confirmed by Warti.

The PKK is yet to confirm the bombardments or any resulting losses.

Turkey has recently intensified its air operations against the Kurdish group, announcing the launch of Operation Claw in late May. Currently in its third phase, the operation is targetting alleged PKK positions in and around Sinat and Haftanin in the Kurdistan Region province of Duhok.

The Ottoman Turkish defense ministry claimed in a tweet early on Saturday to have "neutralized" two PKK fighters in a separate operation in the Kurdistan Region, "in the framework of Operation Claw."

Russia, China, US are options for Iraq air defense system boost: MP
[Rudaw] Iraq is exploring Chinese, Russian and American options for the reinforcement of its air defenses, an Iraqi politician and senior militia leader has said, amid a series of mysterious drone attacks on Iran-backed targets in the country - despite fears from some politicians that the purchase of a Russian system could antagonize the US.

Iraq is exploring Chinese, Russian and American options for the reinforcement of its air defenses, an Iraqi politician and senior militia leader has said, amid a series of mysterious drone attacks on Iran-backed targets in the country - despite fears from some politicians that the purchase of a Russian system could antagonize the US.

A number of routes to develop Iraq’s air defense system are currently under assessment, said MP, Fatih coalition spokesperson and senior Popular Mobilization Forces leader Ahmed al-Asadi in an interview with al-Mayadeen TV on Friday.

"The Iraqi government and PMF leaders have already started to study the options Iraq has in order to develop its air defense system," al-Asadi said. "Currently, Russia, China and the US are the options."

Weapons depot and bases of the PMF, known in Arabic as Hashd al-Shaabi, have come under drone attacks since July.

Iraq’s pursuit of an improved air defense system predates the spate of attacks on the PMF, with Iraqi ambassador to Moscow Haider Mansour Hadi expressing S-400 interest in May of this year.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
the targeting of PMF sites using drones has prompted the Iraqi government to vow to protect the group from attack by bolstering the country’s air defenses.

Mansour al-Bieji, a member of the State of Law Coalition in the Iraqi parliament, said on Wednesday that Iraq may buy the Russian S-400 air defense missile system.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
some Iraqi politicians have warned the government against its purchase, pointing to American threats of sanctions on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
for its purchase of the defense system as a cautionary tale.

With parliament’s summer recess today drawing to a close, political debate regarding the extent of American presence in has switched gears, particularly among majority-Shiite blocs. While some politicians have demanded the withdrawal of all US troops from the country, others argue they continue to be needed as trainers and advisers.

"For the sake of the Iraqi government, trainers and advisers of the US troops can remain, but we say the rest need to withdraw," al-Asadi said.

The Fatih coalition, Sayirun alliance and State of Law bloc aim to send a letter to parliament leadership on Saturday to push discussion of US troop presence in Iraq, he added.

Demand for a halt to the agreement is due mainly to what Asadi says is a "weak US stance" regarding recent attacks on PMF sites, al-Asadi previously told Rudaw.

US troops withdrew from Iraq in 2011, but were invited back to the country in 2014 to advise and train Iraqi forces in the fight against Islamic State

US-led coalition air forces have been participating in Operation Will of Victory, launched by Iraqi forces to quell a resurgence of ISIS in the north and west of the country on July 7.

Iran-Iraq gas and electricity payment mechanism yet to be finalised: official
[Rudaw] Baghdad is yet to find a financial mechanism to settle its debts with US sanction-stricken Iran, secretary general of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce Sayyid Hamid Hosseini said on Saturday.

Iran, which provides up to 40 percent of Iraq's electricity needs, has struggled to recoup payments from Baghdad since the US government withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal and re-imposed economic sanctions on Tehran, effectively cutting Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. off from the global financial system.

"The problem we face with Iraq now is we have not been able to reach a mechanism to receive the fees for gas and electricity," Hosseini said in an interview with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)-affiliated Tasnim news outlet.

On a daily basis, Iran currently exports 1200 to 1500 megawatts of electricity to Iraq, he added, and 37 to 38 million cubic meters of natural gas, used to feed several of Iraq’s power stations.

"Iraq needs 25,000 megawatts, but currently can only produce 15,000 to 16,000 megawatts," he claimed. "Iraqi people are facing severe shortages of electricity and power cuts."

Iran has exported electricity and natural gas to Iraq for more than a decade. It currently exports 3.5 to four billion dollars’ worth of electricity and natural gas a year to its western neighbour.

US sanctions have prevented Baghdad from repaying the roughly $2 billion it owes in unpaid debts to Iran. Under the terms of four consecutive sanction waivers Washington has granted Iraq, it is obliged to stop trading with Iran in dollars.

Casting doubts on a possible easing of Iraq’s gas dependency on Iran, Hosseini added that he does not expect Iraqis to be able to capture and exploit its associated petroleum gas ‐ a process for which Iraq is currently seeking investment and infrastructural assistance ‐ for another three to four years.

Efforts to establish a payment mechanism have been long-running, with Iranian central bank governor Abdolnasser Hemmati meeting with his Iraqi counterpart in Baghdad to sign an agreement for Iraq to settle its dues back in February.

Failure to have finalized a payment route comes despite Hosseini telling Rudaw English in early July that the financial mechanism between Iran and Iraq designed to bypass US sanctions was fully "operational," and that Baghdad had already started depositing money owed to Iran into a special account at the privately-owned Trade Bank of Iraq (TBI).

Iraq is a key source of export revenue for Iran, with $9 billion of Tehran’s $25 billion in non-petroleum exports heading to Baghdad, according to the Joint Chamber of Commerce.

Despite pending payments, an increasing number of land border crossings are opening up between the two countries to facilitate trade.

Current trade volume between Iraq and Iran stands at $13 billion, according to Hassan Danaeifar, secretary of the Committee to Develop Iranian Economic Ties with Iraq.

"Now it’s all on hold because Britannia sided with the Americans." Britannia, La Belle France and Germany, with support from the rest of the EU, are trying to save the 2015 nuclear accord between Iran and major powers, under which Tehran undertook to curb its nuclear programme in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

Iraq
Washington ‘unequivocally’ expects Baghdad to implement Iran sanctions: Treasury official
[Rudaw] Washington is continuing to make "crystal clear" its expectation that the Iraqi government honor, implement and adhere to economic sanctions on Tehran, a US Treasury Department official said on Friday.

"I have a good relationship with my Iraqi counterparts, with the finance minister, with the Central Bank governor, they understand everything the United States does to assist the function of their economy," Marshall Billingslea, Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing at the US Treasury Department, said at an Atlantic Council meeting focusing on Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
and terrorist financing on Friday.

"We will continue to insist that when we implement designation on those who facilitate QF [Quds Force] or IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] or Hezbollah or other terrorist proxy finances...it is not a negotiation, we expect unequivocally that those sanctions are honored and implemented."

Bodies and institutions of all sizes are expected to adhere to sanction implementation, Billingslea said, with failure to do resulting in penalization.

"We will not hesitate to act, even against a large financial institution with a politically connected member of the Iraqi parliament," Billingslea said.

Four prominent Iraqis - two Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF, Hashd al-Shaabi in Arabic) leaders and two former provincial governors - were sanctioned by the US Treasury for alleged corruption and human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
abuses in July.

The sanctions were quickly followed by a Central Bank of Iraq order for all governmental financial departments and state-owned banks to "halt or freeze" the accounts of sanction-hit Iraqis.

After Washington re-imposed crippling sanctions on Iran in November 2018, the US has prodded its regional allies to halt all trade activity with Tehran.

US Treasury officials have frequented both Baghdad and Erbil in recent months to pressure Iraq into cutting their ties with Iran as part of its policy of maximum pressure.

"[The US] Treasury is actively targeting Iran’s key industries, to drive a realization by Iran’s Supreme Leader that economic collapse is inevitable if Iran does not stop its sponsorship of terror, its proliferation activities, and return to negotiating table," Billingslea said.

Washington’s main target, he specified, is Iran’s petrochemical industry, the primary source of the country’s revenue. The US has accused Iran of attempting to circumvent sanctions through illicit oil sales to provide revenue for its proxies elsewhere in the Middle East.

"In recent days you have seen us focus on a joint Iranian-Hizbollah oil-for-terror shipping network...this network alone has illicitly sold more than half a billion dollars of Iranian crude just this year, predominantly again to the brutal Assad regime in Syria." Billingslea told the Atlantic Council audience.

Iraq has relied on imported Iranian electricity and gas for over a decade to meet rising demand against an ailing energy infrastructure. Iran currently provides as much as 40 percent of Iraq’s electricity.

This reliance has angered the US, though it has nonetheless granted Iraq several temporary waivers to allow it to keep purchasing Iranian power until October.

The US insists Iraq must wean itself off Iranian energy, which Baghdad has said won’t be a viable option for some years.

Europe
France: Murder and Attempted Murder up 79 Per Cent in 10 Years
Notice, dear Reader, what word is not mentioned throughout the article.
[Breitbart] Figures from the French judicial police reveal that the number of murders and attempted murders in the country has dramatically increased over the last ten years.

The statistics reveal that in 2009 La Belle France saw 1,767 victims of homicide and attempted homicide but that number jumped significantly to 3,168 by 2018 with professor of criminology Alain Bauer warning of the growing trend of violence, Le Figaro reports.

"Homicide is, by definition, the criterion for recognising violence in a society," Bauer said and added: "A deep movement back to physical violence is happening, especially in the West."

Frédéric Lagache of the police union Alliance Police Nationale agreed, saying: "Violence is democratising. Law enforcement is no longer scary. Today, for nothing, for a look, it turns to fists. Pulling out a gun has become commonplace."

Cities across La Belle France have seen a rise in violence, particularly surrounding the activities of criminal gangs in places like Marseille where a gang war that started at the beginning of 2019 has claimed the lives of nine people so far.

In the span of just one week, La Belle France saw an attempted murder in L’Hay-les-Roses on September 2nd, a convicted criminal in Asnieres-sur-Seine rubbed out on the 3rd, a suspected narco in Toulouse
...lies on the banks of the River Garonne, half-way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. The Toulouse metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in La Belle France...
rubbed out on the 4th, and another man rubbed out the same night in Clermont-Ferrand.

Last month, La Belle France’s Ministry of the Interior noted that murders had jumped by 16 per cent from May 1st to July 1st compared to the previous three-month period.

Many of the 248 murders that took place during the three-month period are thought to be connected to gang-related activity including a shooting incident in Ollioules that saw a tourist killed as well.

Random acts of violence, known in La Belle France as "violences gratuites", have also become a major issue with a report from 2018 claiming that the country sees as many as 777 such random attacks per day.

Racism, pure and simple
[NYPOST] At the very moment when the issue of race might at long last have been put to rest, it is now becoming the most important issue of all.

The decades since the 1960s saw the growth of "black studies" in American universities. The courses started out in part as a way of de-stigmatizing the group and educating people about a crucial aspect of their history.

But, just as a popular strand of feminism turned from celebrating women to vilifying men, a portion of black studies started attacking people who were not black. A discipline intended to de-stigmatize began to re-stigmatize. This has led to the growth of "whiteness studies" ‐ a discipline that is now taught at all of the Ivy League universities in the US.

#7  There are commercial and residential areas in India with signs that declare "No negros please." I also read of a case in Japan some years back where in court it was argued that property and business owners had every right to safeguard against loss due to theft, criminality and disease. And if they believed beyond doubt that a certain kind of person would endanger their patrons or goods, shops had every right to disallow entry to them.

The lessons on racial guilt, taught to white children and youngsters in schools and on TV, plus a clergy led by hollow academic 'reeds shaken with the wind' who value their tithes and bunco games more than the integrity of society - these have led to a weak-kneed white community that will lie down and be feasted upon by racist blacks and their federal protectors. The bravest thing they can do is to join reddit and complain of 'nigge®s making America a shithole'. Braver that that and they move to Wyoming. The whites of today are not racist. They are the most unassuming, guilt-ridden people, afraid of airing their own thoughts nowadays.

Afghanistan
Moscow holds Taliban talks, Kabul displeased
[DAWN] A Taliban

delegation held talks with Russian officials in Moscow after US negotiations with the Afghan forces of Evil collapsed, the Russian foreign ministry said on Saturday.

"The Russian president's special representative for Afghanistan ... , Zamir Kabulov, hosted a Taliban delegation in Moscow," a ministry front man said, quoted by RIA Novosti state-funded news agency.

No date for the talks was given.

"The Russian side stressed the need to relaunch negotiations between the United States and the Taliban movement," the front man said.

"For their part, the Taliban confirmed their willingness to pursue dialogue with Washington," he added.

Until a week ago expectation had steadily mounted of a US-Taliban deal that would see the US drawdown of troop levels in Afghanistan and the Taliban offer security guarantees to keep krazed killer groups out.

But last Saturday, Trump revealed he had cancelled an unprecedented meeting between the Taliban and himself in the US and declared the talks with the bandidos forces of Evil "dead".

With more than 13,000 US troops still in Afghanistan, Trump has been eager to end America's longest war, launched 18 years ago after the September 11 attacks.

But fears are now growing of increased violence with presidential elections set for September 28 in Afghanistan.

The vote, the fourth since the fall of the Taliban in 2001, has already been delayed twice this year.

Presidential spokesperson Sediq Sediqqi said in a Twitter post that the ’Taliban, this time raised their voice from Moscow and said they will continue to the killings of Afghans’.

Sediqqi further added that the Afghan cops are waiting for the return of Mr. Stanikzai and his comrades from Qatar

and Moscow for the sake of war in Afghanistan.

This comes as Stanikzai had earlier said that the group is prepared to fight for another hundred years.

He made the remarks during an interview with Russia’s RT after visiting Moscow with several other Taliban leaders in the aftermath of the cancellation of peace talks by U.S. President Donald Trump

Stanikzai said "Our stance is that there is no solution to the conflict except negotiations and except peace on the table."

Stanikzai further added "We hope that Mr. Trump rethinks his announcement and comes back to where we were."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Black Transgender Woman Found Burned To Death In Florida
[CNS] The body of a black transgender woman was recovered from a torched car in Clewiston, Florida, last week. According to the Human Rights Campaign, Bee Love Slater is the 18th transgender woman to be killed in 2019.
"Woman"
Hendry County investigators identified 23-year-old Slater several days after recovering her body from her burned vehicle, CBS Fort Myers affiliate WINK reports. Captain Susan Harelle said the body was burned beyond recognition.

The investigation is ongoing and the Sheriff's Office said it could not be confirmed as a hate crime until a clear motive is found. But Love's best friend, Kenard Wade, said Slater was targeted as a member of the LGBTQ community.

"She had a really, really good heart," Wade told Wink. "She would never harm anyone, never put anyone in harm's way. How could someone go to that extreme to get rid of her?"
Note to sherlocks: That wording of that last statement by Mr. Wade is actually so off base it should ring an alarm bell in the even the least experienced interrogator or psychiatrist. Anyway...
According to Wade, Slater had received threats the night of the fire. She told him over text that she wanted to leave town to avoid trouble.

"Bee love was kind to everyone she came in contact with and her presence touched me for just the four months that I shared with her was amazing!" Dezmond Bass, who helped coordinate Slater's candlelight vigil, wrote on Facebook.

Slater's death highlights an ongoing trend of violence against transgender people. Slater is the 18th known transgender woman to be murdered this year, the HRC said. Last year, at least 26 transgender people were killed; in 2017, that number reached a record high of at least 29 deaths.

Haftar's forces target Tripoli's Mitiga Airport despite closure
[Libya Observer] Khalifa Haftar
...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy, so it's kind of hard to describe him as a Qadaffy holdover. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Social media accounts close to al-Kani militia that is fighting for Haftar's forces threatened to target positions and neighborhoods in Tripoli with Grad rockets, while others went as far as saying they will "show Tripoli hell".

Syria allegedly considering acquisition of Iran’s new air defense system
[ALMASDARNEWS] Syria intends to acquire Iran’s Bavar-373 air defense system, which was recently modified by the Islamic Theocratic Republic, the Russian aviation website Avia.Pro reported on Saturday.

Citing Syrian journalists, Avia.Pro said Syria is looking acquire the Bavar-373 after the Russian-supplied S-300 system allegedly demonstrated extremely low efficiency durings its trial phase.

"Information about this is actively disseminated by Syrian journalists referring to a certain military source in the country, and, according to recent data, Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
is ready to supply its air defense systems to the Arab Republic at a special cost, but provided that these air defense systems will not depend on Russia," the publication said.

The publication added that the Iranian air defense system shares similar characteristics to the Russian S-300, which should limit the amount of training time needed to use it.

It should be pointed out that neither Iran nor Syria has confirmed these claims.

Syria first acquired the S-300 last October when the Russian Federation made their first delivery of this air defense system.

Russia’s decision to supply Syria with the S-300 came just days after their IL-80 was accidentally shot down by the Syrian air defenses off the coast of Latakia.

Russia blamed Israel for the incident, stating that an Israeli Air Force F-16 used the IL-80 for cover during their exchange with the Syrian air defenses.

Anti-Child Rape Gang Activist and Street Organiser Tommy Robinson Released From Prison
[Breitbart] Tommy Robinson
...former soccer hooligan and founder of the anti-Muslim colonist English Defence League, he was once upon a time christened Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, a dreadful thing to do to a tot...
has been released from Britannia’s maximum security jail after a nine-week sentence that arose from him filming the faces of rape gang suspects outside of court.
That would be the trial of twenty mostly Muslim Pakistani colonists in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, who engaged in the usual grooming of native girls for pleasure and profit, about which the local authorities were completely unconcerned until recently.
The former English Defence League leader turned citizen journalist and anti-child rape activist was pictured leaving HMP Belmarsh prison Friday morning, sporting a beard and long hair from his time behind bars. Laughing with Ezra Levant, a Canadian journalist who has allied himself closely to Mr Robinson, the street organiser joked his first stop after prison would be for a haircut because his newly grown ginger-streaked beard made him look like a "little cowardly convert" to Islam.

Sparring with journalists from the British Daily Mirror newspaper which had turned up to photograph him on release, Mr Robinson said: "you read their lies, the Daily Mirror lied saying I was attacked in this prison, you made up an entire story.

Houthis claim responsibility for powerful attack on Saudi Aramco site
[ALMASDARNEWS] Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s have grabbed credit for drone attacks on two Saudi Aramco factories, the group’s front man said in a statement broadcast by Al Masirah TV. The spokesperson went on to say that the rebels deployed 10 drones overall in both attacks.

He also vowed that the scope of Houthi attacks against the kingdom would be broadened.

Earlier, a front man for Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
’s interior ministry stated that the fire at two Saudi Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais was caused by drone attacks. The official added that the blaze was brought under control by the company’s security forces.

"The industrial security teams of Aramco have started dealing with fires at two of its facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais as a result of... drones", local media quoted the front man as saying. "The two fires have been controlled."

The ministry official did not identify those responsible for the attack in his comment.

Earlier in the day, the Saudi-owned satellite channel al-Arabiya reported the earth-shattering kaboom and fire at the Saudi Aramco Abqaiq facility in Buqyaq, near Dammam, in the kingdom’s Eastern Province. According to videos posted by social media users, gunfire was heard in the background.

Saudi Aramco is a state-owned oil enterprise which operates and controls the majority of the kingdom’s refinery production and oilfields. It is one of the largest firms globally in terms of revenue and is believed to be the most profitable company in the world.

Last month, another drone attack targeted Saudi Arabia’s major oil field, Shaybah, causing no interruptions to its activities. Yemen’s Houthis were reportedly responsible for the incident.

Pete Buttigieg: James Bond Not ‘Intrinsically White’
[BREITBART] Mayor Pete Buttigieg
...the testicleless mayor of South Bend, Indiana, since 2012. Buttigieg graduated from Harvard College and, on a Rhodes Scholarship, from Pembroke College, Oxford. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at McKinsey and Company, a consulting firm. From 2009 to 2017 Buttigieg served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, attaining the rank of lieutenant and deploying to Afghanistan in 2014. Buttigieg was first elected mayor of South Bend in 2011 and was reelected in 2015. During his second term, he announced he was gay. Buttigieg also campaigned for Indiana state treasurer in 2010 and for chair of the Democratic National Committee in 2017, losing both elections. He is running for the Dem nomination in 2020 on the theory that being mayor of a nondescript medium sized city is qualification to run the country...
believes that characters like James Bond are not "intrinsically white," allowing Hollywood executives to switch up the race of any character.

"I think, whether we’re talking about James Bond or whether we’re talking about comic books, it makes sense for the portrayal of these characters to reflect the amazing cultural diversity of the country," he said when asked about black actors playing characters that were previously played by white actors.
Oooo! How edgey
The South Bend mayor weighed in on pop culture on Friday in an interview with TMZ Live after the Democrat debate.

One of the TMZ hosts asked about the current proposal by Marvel Producer Kevin Feige, who floated the idea of casting white X-Men characters Professor X and Magneto as black.
Genius!
Buttigieg praised recent portrayals of the leading X-Men characters by white actors but indicated that changing their race would be a good thing.

"Look, one of the beauties of making comic books into movies is, you can reimagine them constantly and there’s nothing intrinsically white about any of those character roles," he said.

He added that he would "love" to see a racial change of characters in the upcoming X-Men movies.

"I just care about whether it’s going to be good ‐ and I believe that they are up to that in producing a new film, and I would love to see that kind of diversity."

If a black woman can do a great job of sleeping with, shooting, and blowing up Her Majesty's enemies with a maximum of collateral damage and no regard for her own safety the, yeah, she's Jane Bond 007. Jihadists block humanitarian corridor in Idlib: Russia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Hayat Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group, formerly known as Nusra Front*, does not let civilians leave the parts of the Syrian province of Idlib it controls, the state television reported on Saturday.
Human Shields - so Islamic
According to Al-Ikhbariya broadcaster, militants are shooting at any vehicle trying to transport people through the Abu al-Duhur humanitarian corridor.

On 31 August, the Syrian army unilaterally halted the fighting in the Idlib de-escalation zone. The truce was announced by the Russian Defence Ministry’s Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria.

The centre also called on the leaders of armed groups operating in Idlib to stop staging provocations and to join the peace process instead.

Syria has remained in a state of a civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups as well as militant and terrorist organisations. Along with Turkey and Iran, Russia acts as a guarantor of the ceasefire in the Arab republic. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.

Dress code issued for schoolgirls in Haripur
[DAWN] The district education office has made it mandatory for all girl students of government schools in Haripur to wear an abaya, gown or chador, drawing a mixed reaction from locals.

A circular issued earlier this week by Samina Altaf, District Education Officer, asked all principals and headmistresses of government schools to ensure that girl students wore an abaya, gown or chador.

"Instruct all students to use gown/abaya or chador to veil/conceal/cover up their-self in order to protect them from any unethical incident," the circular said.

Repeated attempts to seek comments from the officer concerned were unsuccessful. However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
one of her subordinates confirmed that the circular was genuine.

"It was necessary to protect girl students from a growing number of complaints of eve-teasing and harassment," she said.

"A good number of girl students have developed a habit of wearing dupatta or ’half chador’, which is not sufficient to cover their bodies," the official added. In reply to a question, she said since providing police protection to girl students at every nook and corner was not possible, the administration had decided to make it binding upon them to observe "proper purdah for their safety".

Commenting on the circular, Umar Farooq, a social activist and office-bearer of Rawadari Tehrik, criticised the decision. "Instead of ensuring the safety of girl students, the authorities have bound them to dress against their will," he said.

Syrian Army attacks jihadist stronghold in northeast Latakia
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) resumed their strikes on the jihadist stronghold of Kabani this evening, hitting a number of sites along the southern axis of this key town in northeastern Latakia.

According to a source in the Latakia Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Armored Division unleashed a barrage of missiles and artillery shells towards the defenses of the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, while Russian and Syrian reconnaissance planes flew over the latter’s positions.

The Syrian Army has been heavily concentrating on the abundance of jihadist tunnels and hideouts around Kabani, as these militant sites have given HTS and TIP a great advantage during their previous battles at this front.

Kabani is a small town that is located atop of one of Latakia’s highest peaks; its geographic location makes it a high priority for the Syrian Army’s high command.

Seattle-area council member proposes $1M busing program for homeless
[FOXNEWS] A Seattle-area council member is pushing a $1 million proposal that would bus homeless people out of the state as part of a "family reunification" plan.

The plan, proposed by King County Councilman Reagan Dunn, would be a one- or two-year pilot program aimed at helping people who have someone in another state willing to take them in but can't afford the cost of getting there.

Busing programs have been around for decades and have had varying degrees of success. While they can be a cheap and convenient way to connect people, critics warn it could lead to dangerous situations and say there's no guarantee of permanent housing.

The city of Seattle and community organizers already offer free bus tickets as part of their broader approach to homelessness but Dunn's proposal, unveiled Tuesday, focuses on 1,000 homeless people who said they wanted to reconnect with family during a homeless count in King County back in January.

In that survey, 9 percent of respondents said "family reunification" was one piece of support they needed to get off the streets and obtain permanent housing. However,
a person who gets all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package...
other things like rental assistance, clearing up credit history and obtaining IDs ranked much higher.

The GOP Is Confirming Trump Judicial Nominees It Stalled Under Obama
[RollCall] At least 10 judicial nominees who couldn't even get a confirmation vote in the final years of President Barack Obama's administration ended up on the bench after Donald Trump's election.

Those nominees, blocked by Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell and other Republicans while Obama was in the White House, got a second chance. Rather than blocking them under Trump, McConnell sought to speed up the confirmation process. Thanks to the shift in political priorities, Republicans confirmed them with bipartisan support.

About 1 in 15 of the judges confirmed during the Trump administration were first nominated by Obama, a CQ Roll Call analysis found. Several more Obama nominees who were renominated by Trump are still awaiting a Senate vote.
Hence my lack of automatic enthusiasm over "muh judges" while so many other urgent tasks are going undone.
One notes that the article is written from a very definite perspective, somewhat to the left of neutral....

#4  This is absolutely true, and absolutely normal. Obama also renominated judges that Democrats had stalled under Bush. Most district court nominees are fairly non-controversial, but each party makes a show out of opposing them to gin up the base. Democrats in the Senate are forcing cloture votes and floor votes on nominees that subsequently pass 94-0.
